This is a cute little animal park! It is not overwhelming. The prices in the gift shop are very reasonable. The staff is friendly. It does not have giraffes, which is kind of disappointing, but you can always go to a bigger zoo or Keystone Safari to see them. Overall, it is a cute manageable park especially if you have little ones or older adults wanting to go.
We visited the New Castle location after having been to the Donegal one a few times in the past. It was so nice! The animals were really active and hungry and my kids (and i) loved seeing them. We also got souvenirs from the gift shop. Definitely recommend for any age!Oh we came specifically to see the honey badger. It says there are only a few viewable throughout the US and one is here. My kids are fans of the Lion Guard and this is a character on the show.
This zoo is great for small children! It is easy to walk and the animals are all close together so there aren’t large gaps between pens. My son loves the petting zoo part and being able to feed the zebras and other animals you usually wouldn’t be able to in a larger zoo!
Living Treasures @ New Castle does not have the Safari Ride but does have the camel ride. If you want the Safari Ride, the one at Keystone is the only one that does. I dont think the one in Donegal has it either. This is a great Zoo to visit to interact with the animals. I also rode the camel for $6 and now can take that off my bucket list! See I can almost skip Egypt now! Nah.😏
So much fun and interactive. I went with my dad, who is visiting from out of town. We received discounted admission from our campground (Rose Point) for me, PLUS took advantage of their free senior Mondays in September for him. A great deal. Reasonable prices in the gift shop. I loved the interactive nature of the place, loads of petting and feeding. I missed the bison, which have been moved to Keystone. They are what brought me there. Oh well. Great time though. Definitely recommend.
This place is great to take the kids. You walk around to see all the animals and can feed most of them including the giraffes. They have all kinds of birds and monkeys, wallabies and tortoises, lions and tigers ( including a beautiful white tiger). They also have leopards too. They have an area that the littler kids can go in and feed goats and zebras and camels. You can also ride the camels and ponies too. Did I mention the buffalo including a white Buffalo? It’s a lot of fun for the whole family.
We visited yesterday for the first time. The animals seemed well taken care of and had nicer environments to live in compared to other places Ive been. There were many interesting animals, several of which I had never seen before face to face. You can purchase food to feed the animals, step inside the aviary bird cage, take a ride on a pony or camel, and get your picture taken with a baby kangaroo or snake. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and my 4 year old loved it. There are peacocks roaming around the park and a playground area for kids to play. There is not a food concession, but there is a nice gift shop where you can buy drinks, candy, chips and amish donuts as well as an array of gift items.
I was very impressed with this place! I thought it was just going to be an oversized petting zoo but there are so many cool animals to feed! Even the ones you cant feed from your hand they have these little gutter systems to feed which the kids loved too! The monkeys pulled a bucket over on a pulley system which was fun to watch! You can even feed giraffes (highlight of my day!) They also had a stand that allowed you to hold a kangaroo and get a picture or see different smaller animals and hear information about them! Great time had by all!
Great place for families to visit. A private zoo with exotic animals that are well taken care of.It is also a petting and feeding zoo which kids of all ages can enjoy. It is a seasonal business because of its location.A great way for children to see, touch, feed and learn about animals that they could never normally get to know.Touching and seeing is far superior to looking at pictures in a book.
So glad we chose here over big city zoo. Easy to get to. Clean. Friendly staff. Animals looked amazingly content and healthy. (Not all zoos have that). Even as an adult, it was fun to interact with and feed them. Benches readily available for breaks. This helped my hubby who has mobility issues. Needs a few more bathrooms but all else is good! Bring a camera. Things for kids, like camel rides! Parking is limited but days are extended in summer. Will edit to add pictures later. I will go to next location when you open it!
This zoo is wonderful! I highly recommend for all ages. You can touch and feed about 85% of the animals. I thought the admission price was reasonable with room to purchase food for the animals. The amount of feed was more generous than i was expecting. I was very pleased with the experience and bought season passes!
I took the granddaughters this week and was impressed with how clean everything is - the sidewalks, the grounds, the animal habitats, the gift shop, the bathrooms - great job guys! The animals look happy and healthy with wonderful temperaments. They are not afraid of people, in fact they seem to like people, and take food very gently which makes me think that they are well fed and well loved. The birds in the Aviary were friendly and chose to land on us and be hand fed which was great fun! The camel was such a patient and handsome gentleman - although the 1 lap ride was too short. I prefer Living Treasures over the Pgh Zoo for the close parking, friendly and helpful staff, the animals seem happier, you can get much closer to them and interact with many of them, the park is just the right size to be able to take everything in w/o exhausting yourself, theres plenty of shade and seating throughout the park and you can easily have fun for the whole day. We were a little disappointed that there were no elephants or giraffes. Seems they moved them to the Keystone Safari. Well worth the money. The granddaughters had a great time!
Very cool place. The interaction with the animals is something on a level we have not done before. One bag of carrots each and we had fun interacting and hugging and petting and feeding animals for the entire visit. We did not expect this to be inside of a residential neighborhood but the layout out and the experience was top notch.
We came to this location by accident, but still had a great time. Not a lot to see, but all of the exhibits are well-maintained. The animals all appear to be healthy, and its nice to see animals that you dont see at a typical zoo! Price is fair and the items in the gift shop are reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
I went on the weekend, and it was a little bit crowded for parking. Once you get in, Living Treasures is a wonderful animal park with a variety of animals that you can view, feed, and in some cases pet. All of the public animals are very friendly and this is definitely a kid friendly place. Additionally, they have a gift shop and a small station where you can buy food if you choose to feed the animals. They do not seem to stock the vending machines regularly, so you may want to bring your own drink
I honestly feel like this place is better than going to the Pittsburgh Zoo. You get closer to the animals and there are more opportunities to interact with different animals. They have it all, Zebras, Giraffes, Tigers, monkeys, lemurs etc and etc. My daughter got to hold a kangaroo and get a picture. Its not too big but not too small. The petting zoo is also a gem, the goats will get rowdy so watch out.
It was a quiet little animal park; over price for the size, if you ask me. I also felt that the animals in the petting area had been drugged/medicated - it was not normal and quite saddening. The parking was free! I am a huge lover of Zoos but I wont be back to this one.
Very nice place , esp for somewhere around here . Admision and food to feed the animals are both very affordable . There are alot of animals that you can feed and pet . Even kangaroos . You can also have your picture taken with a baby kangaroo wich is awesome . The animals are all very calm and polite and not super pushy when giving them food wich was nice . And the even have a bucket on a rope system so you can feed monkeys by putting food in the bucket , then the monkey pulls the bucket across a rope to collect the food . Very cool . Definitly a nice place to visit for sure
This was a GREAT animal park. My daughter and I visited it as we traveled through town and really enjoyed how up close you could get to the animals. Had some great little touches - my daughter got to hold a wallaby and feed the animals (they love the carrots). Theres even a quite sizeable petting zoo. It is a medium-sized park, very easy to walk through. Lots of shade throughout. Very clean, very easy to park, a great way to spend a few hours. As an added bonus, your receipt can get you 50% off at a sister park (Keystone Safari), which has completely different animals and was very enjoyable as well. Definitely a fun day.
Awesome! Lots of animals to see and you can get very close. The animals look like they are well taken care of and the staff are very friendly. We got to hold a baby kangaroo as well which will make the trip memorable. We are from Ohio, but we would definitely go back again! Its worth the drive.
Living treasures is a “must go” place. I’ve taken my daughter of a year and a half there 3 times thus far and its been fun every time. She loves all the animals there. Its must better than a zoo because you know the animals are better treated, and fed. Also because you can actually interact with the animals.
We went on an overcast weekday. The animals were all interested in seeing us just as much as we were in seeing them. Its great to be able to interact with some of the animals by giving them food. Theyre also very clever in asking for food as well. When we happen to be there the wallabies were very friendly, came up to the fence, and one even let us pet him.The staff was very friendly and entertaining as well. Items in their gift shop are surprisingly inexpensive, as was admission to the park. All in all it was a great time.
Its a great change of pace Zoo. Its not huge but its big enough. We were able to spend 3 hours here and probably could have spent more time if the kids werent getting tired. The play set is a nice break. This zoo features a lot that normal zoos dont when it comes to interacting with the animals. We will definitely go back!
Small and clean. Seems a bit pricey for what you get. Animals seem to be well taken care off. Much improved from what it was 8 or 9 years ago as far as th fencing, no more deer with their necks cut up from sticking them through fences to get food. Friendly staff for the most part. The cashier that rang us in was not so friendly nor welcoming but the rest of the staff was very pleasant. Especially the girl at the booth where you could get your picture with wallabys, baby kangaroo etc. She took the time to listen and address my concerns due to having a daughter with Autism that desired a picture but is hard to get to focus when distracted by things she likes ex animals and isnt very fond of strangers. The girl was so very patient with her didnt talk down to her like she was a small child, got down on her level, waited patiently for her to answer and never got frustated nor made us feel rushed or like we were an unconvince.
First time there. We celebrated my cousin in laws 3rd birthday there. Nice atmosphere. The front desk ladies are very helpful getting us educated for the posting zoo experience. Very maintained and plenty of wash stations. I believe they had these in place before covid, only because you should wash your hands after you feed an animal or pet one. A little pricey but very relaxing and fun for the kids.
We had an amazing zoo trip to Living Treasures & Keystone Safari! Both parks was well kept, people practiced social distancing, the animals were friendly and all looked so healthy and happy! Very excited to go back again and considering it for my daughters birthday party! Spend the day at both parks- you wont be disappointed!
My child enjoyed this animal park. Its affordable and big enough for a two hour visit, but not too big or overwhelming for little ones. Lots of shade along the walkways too which is nice. Youre sure to see and touch lots of animals.Could be a bit cleaner in the animal pens, but overall a good experience.Just wish there were some good places to eat nearby besides fast food.
My youngest and I had an excellent mother/daughter day here.Yes, in ideal circumstances, these animals would be in larger enclosures with minimal human contact. But these animals arent suffering. The enclosures are large and dynamic. The animals look healthy. This isnt some old-timey zoo.Unlike many zoo experiences weve had, we could see every animal. Many could be hand fed with pellets or carrots you can buy when you buy your admission. If cost us an issue, you can easily skip buying the feed. Pellets and carrots can be gathered from the ground, where theyve overflowed from over-generous hands. There are also stations along the way to buy different sized feed pellets for birds and monkeys, so bring a handful of quarters.Theres a booth where you can get a picture taken while holding a baby kangaroo/wallaby. At certain times, you can also bottle feed them. They were absolutely adorable!Getting to pet the kangaroos was amazing. We couldnt believe how soft they are!If your looking for an inexpensive trip, this is a great choice.
We went on a class field trip and I was pleasantly surprised. We took a short guided tour where we got to touch a kangaroo at the end. Our guide was great with the kids.We ate lunch at the picnic area which was nice and shady. The whole park has a lot of shaded areas making it a pleasant stroll instead of a blazing trudge. The park isnt huge but it kept the kids entertained for the several hours we were there.
Lovely experience! Price was pretty reasonable for entry and food with Adults at $15 per adult and $12 for kids 12 and under. Food was very cheap for a whole big cup it was $2.50 and carrots where $4 a bag. There where many animals and an opportunity to feed almost all of them. It was shedding season for them but the park had very informational signs about why they may be patchy. We went on the camel ride this time. Its $6 per person and you must be 42 inches or more to ride alone but children that are smaller can ride with someone who is taller then 42 inches. It is a short ride but very fun for the kids! There is also a petting zoo area where you can pet and feed goats. The goats where very kind but, greedy. They will jump on you if you have food but its mostly the small ones. I had one who decided my leg was the perfect scratching post for their head. All around its a cute park that seems to treat their animals well.
Living Treasures is a perfect little spot for families. My kids love being up close to the animals and being able to feed them is always exciting. From the flamingos to the kangaroos to the goats, my almost 6 & 2 year olds had tons of fun, as did their grandparents, so its fun for all ages. The park is well shaded and has plenty of places to sit. Its not huge and doesnt require a ton of walking. The gift shop prices are reasonable for the venue and the staff we interested with were friendly and helpful. Its a fun trip to make with my parents and kids when I visit from North Carolina.
Price is decent. The kids LOVED the petting section of the zoo. They have quite an assortment of animals too! The missing star is because their gift shop is very crowded with merchandise and its VERY difficult to navigate, especially for small families with a double stroller. Granted, it was on a day when 3 other large groups were there, they could definitely improve the place by either enlarging the gift shop or separating the main entrance from the gift ship--theyre the same building.
Decent animal park. Close by. Nice variety of animals. Camel rides for $6 and pony rides for $4. There was a beautiful peacock uncaged, roaming right along with its visitors, we got to see him open up...really beautiful! Pavilion out front if you want to bring a cooler for a picnic.
Visit Living Treasures Wild Animal Park! What a fun day. You can feed the animals carrots or pellet food. We had a blast feeding the giraffes and reindeer. Plan to spend a couple of hours walking around and visiting the animals. There are hand washing stations when you’re done!
Great zoo with a lot of different animals! The staff is friendly and informative. There were lots of baby animals to see and all of the animals are very interactive. Unfortunately, the new baby giraffe wasn’t out when we went through. The sign said he comes out at 11:00, 13:00, & 15:00, weather permitting. Overall, it was an affordable and fun day trip. Be sure to read the signs outside of each exhibit to know what treats each animal is allowed to have.
I absolutely LOVE this animal park! Im A HUGE animal lover & my husband first took me there to cheer me up during my treatment for skin cancer all over my face. First, admission isnt expensive: adults 12 &up is $14.99Kids 3-11 $11.99Kids 2 & under are FREESeniors 62+ $12.99Season passes(good for 1yr from date of purchase): adults $40.99, kids$32.99, and 10% off 3-5 passes, 20% off 6+ passes. It includes discounts on animal feed, & 10% off everything in gift shop. The park is VERY CLEAN & you rarely smell any kind of 💩 smell! You walk at your own leisure/pace w out anyone breathing down your neck telling you what you can/cant do. The animals that wont actually EAT YOU are in nice enclosures where you can actually touch them, scratch them, & interact w them up close and personal. Even the buffalos like a good scratching beneath their ears! You can pet the kangaroos, theyre very sweet & tame. On our last visit, there were about 8 mommas with their joeys in the pouch peeking out every now and then! The giraffes bend over the fences and you can hug, feed, and scratch them too! The male giraffe is actually the son of April the giraffe that the world watched (via the news)in anticipation of her giving birth to her newest baby! They have TONS of baby animals, some of which you can touch and hold! They also have a petting area where kids and adults can interact when about 20 mini goats! They have A WIDE variety of different animals from across the world with educational plaques at each enclosure that clearly explain where each animal originates, what they typically eat in the wild, natural predators, &more. The staff are wonderful! They are kind, helpful, and never intrusive of your visit.I couldnt say enough positive things about this park! I recommend it for EVERYONE! Its now our FAV date night out!Oh, and all October the park is open until 11pm! They line the paths with tiki torches and you get to experience what the animals do at night(some are nocturnal so its best to go after dark), but dont forget your flashlight cuz youll need it!GREAT place for a date night(for those animal lovers), family outing, or just go by yourself and relax! Gets an A+ from me and MY family!
Beware of the goats! Youre allowed in the pin and they will jump on you like a dog wanting you to scratch its head. They also have Camel rides for 6 bucks extra which I feel like after you pay so much to get in it should be free or give you a picture that you dont have to take yourself.
This place is awesome! Great price & nice clean park! The parking lot is really hard to see to get out, and people tend to fly in, so be careful leaving! But inside is great! You can purchase feed in the store, or bring quarters and get feed from small vending machines specific to certain animals.
Let me start off by saying this place is great..WHEN OPEN!! so we vacation from Florida and come here every year and this year was special we had my mother in law and Our 10 month old son. Online it says open so we got all excited and headed that way and a hour and 45 min drive later we found its closed. Looked online again and it says open so I called to find out its closed for the season. My wife and 2 kids and mother in law were very disappointed.
I’m giving this place 5 stars because it’s truly amazing when it’s open, but can someone PLEASE update that living treasures is closed for the season. I just drove over an hour today with my 2 year old and 8 month old in the car only to find out that you are closed. It says that you’re open on google and on maps. I had a crying very upset 2 year old this morning when I had to tell her that we couldn’t see the animals.
I admit to being pretty skeptical from the road signs. We decided to hit it on the way home & I was pleasantly surprised. It’s small, but it’s pretty simple. There was a decent variety of accessible animals, and lots of opportunity to interact or feed them. While probably not the ideal situation for the animals… they seemed pretty stoked when my 2 year old fed them carrots. I would suggest you stop by if you’re in the area with some extra time.
Awesome place. Really enjoyed the day, clean, animals seemed very happy and their habitats were very well made and up kept. Really really nice compared to most zoos. Wish there was more options for food, besides that it was an amazing day. Workers were also very friendly.
We have participated in their night at the zoo for years and have always had such a good time. Last year we didn’t make it due to covid and this year it was such a disappointment. We paid $44 for two adults and a child they didn’t have any large animals because they have all passed and it was more like a big petting zoo that included monkeys. We were out of there in less than an hour and will not be going back. The price is not even remotely worth it. We will try keystone next year but living treasures is very sad and has seen much better days! Not to mention there was supposed to be a treat bag for kids that dressed up but that was never given out either. I wouldn’t recommend it even in the day light there aren’t any exotic animals worth seeing like I said it was more or less a large petting zoo.
Such a great experience!! I went here with my sister, we are both in our 20s and had a great time!! Definitely fun for all ages! You got to feed pretty much all of the animals they have there and it is a very decent price! Only complaint is that there are no giraffes here, they should probably update their website because thats the main reason why we visited.
Youngsters can still feed the animals & enjoy this wildlife park; but several animals were moved from this location to supplement the owners newest attraction a short distance north, Keystone Safari. Living Treasures still offers a zoo-like experience in a more intimate setting, but currently appeals more to toddlers and preschoolers since it competes with the newly established Keystone Safari (same owner both animal parks). Living Treasures still offers a better one-on-one experience because park goers still feed most animals & is clean with hand sanitizing stations located throughout. The condensed layout of the facility allows littlest of walkers ease to maneuver around the exhibits & enjoy the up close feel of meeting the animals. There is a climbing/sliding play area that attracts young patrons & allows them to burn off energy yet not frighten the wildlife. Since its an outdoor venue, mask wearing is a matter of choice.
A great place for individuals of all ages at a great price. This park features animals from all over and offers an interactive experience with the bird feeding and goat exhibits. Admission also gets you 50% off of the Keystone Safari located in the Grove City, PA area if you present your receipt. I recommend this for anyone looking for an afternoon adventure.
The park is kept very clean & the animal enclosures appear clean. Id like to see more enrichment in with the large animals, like the Tigers, for example, so they could play instead of just lying around or pacing back & forth. Some of the enclosures could be larger. My family & I had a very enjoyable time visiting the animals & feeding them.
The zoo was well maintained, friendly workers and the animals were well cared for. The zoo was bigger than it looked from the road. The only drawback was that the parking lot was small and congested, hard to get in and out of our space. We loved how hands on this zoo was.
Absolutely loved this place! Went with my fiance and felt like a kid again. You are able to purchase big bags of carrots and feed to feed all the animals. My favorites were the wallabies and lemurs. Most interactive zoo Ive ever been to. Great for people of all ages!
This place is small but it’s awesome I love seeing the animals here me and my husband love going here we love feeding the animals also I love that you get to hold a baby kangaroo or a snake me and my husband chose the kangaroo and it was so amazing have the kangaroo snuggle up to me. Great place for kids and adults too.
This is a wonderful little zoo! My kids loved they could feed practically every animal. My daughter had a little bird sit on her hand & eat out of the little cup. My two little boys helped bottle feed the baby yaks. My 2 year old loved sending the food down the chutes for the animals to get. They all had a great time! There are animals there that arent at other zoos we have been to. Souvenir shop was very reasonable priced. We also took advantage of the 1/2 price savings and visited Keystone Safari the same day. The staff at both places were very nice!
Definitely a very cool experience! Was worth the money and definitely worth it to see the smile on my girlfriends face! I was glad that this was out in an area that we were working in and close by enough so that we can make this work after we were done for the day. I could see us doing this at least once a year every year
We drove 2 hours and it was more than worth it. My kids absolutely loved it. They loved feeding the animals especially my daughter. My son loves riding the camel. My husband and I had a great time, the layout is amazing. My only problem was we didnt buy enough feed. ❤️❤️❤️
Went with DIL and grandsons ages 22 months and 6 months. Took a wagon which was a huge help. Oldest loved feeding carrots to the animals. Staff was very friendly. Unlike most places, the Gift Shop had a nice assortment of very reasonably priced items. Great place to go!

2021-11-05This place is way more fun than the Pittsburgh Zoo! You can get so much closer to the animals and even feed and touch many of them. Catch a short camel ride for a few bucks, buy some of the feed and have a great time. From adults to kids to toddlers it was really a great time for everyone.

2021-09-07My family had a very nice time at Living Treasures. My daughter rode a Camel, held a baby Kangaroo, and bottle fed a young camel!Did not give 5 stars because there were no Giraffes at this location and they appear all over their ads the Tiger was pacing because he was in such a small space which made us sad. Also no people food is offered, but that didnt bother us.We truly enjoyed feeding the animals and all of the activities and the gift shop had good prices too. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 Kids & Seniors and babies are free :)Living Treasures is definitely a must see and alot of fun for all ages!

2022-05-05Living Treasures is a great little petting zoo to visit. It’s stroller and small kid friendly with lots of herbivores to feed. They have a great business going and your season pass can be used at Keystone Safari. Living Treasures recently has been moving their larger animals to Keystone and focusing on smaller kid friendly animals. If you want dozens and dozens of goats and deer to feed and pet living treasures is where you want to go. If you want to see lions, hyenas, rare birds and giraffes then Keystone Safari will be your place. Again season passes can be used at both locations so you really can have your pick of experiences!

2021-08-25This is a great place to take kids. You can feed and pet the animals, ride a camel, and even hold a baby kangaroo or snake! The animals seem really well cared for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations on where to eat locally.

2021-08-22Stopped over on my way to the North Shore. Its more like a tiny farm than a zoo. The animals are so small and their enclosures are so tight. I was especially sad for the tigers. They were like a big house cat, so frail and skinny and less than a quarter size of a regular tiger. The Kangaroos were like giant rats,, so small and boxed in.. All the animals look so sad and miserable. It stinks like crazy so even though they try to keep the place clean it wasnt. So if u have a fragile nose and are sensitive to smells avoid going there.. they should limit the number of families entering as they were more kids than animals so I felt like I went to see a bunch of unruly kids with their equally incomplete parents.. if u want to animals go to Pittsburgh Zoo or Penn Caves.. better structures and animals are better cared for than here.

2022-06-22This is a wonderful, small, petting zoo that takes about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. You purchase carrots or pellet food at the entrance to feed the animals. (We buy two bags of carrots for each person.)The deer and goats are especially eager to eat off your hands and they actually compete for your attention! You can enter a goat area where they will jump on you to get carrots, so beware, but they are generally harmless. You are close and personal with most of the animals except those who are more dangerous like the tigers and various monkeys. You can take a ride on a camel or take a picture holding a snake or baby kangaroo for an extra fee. There is a nice variety of animals and we like this place much better than large zoos like Pittsburgh because it is interactive and a much more pleasant and easy walk.People of all ages will love it. Bring a bottle of water in your bag because there is only one vending machine in the zoo and sometimes a lemonade stand that costs $6 a drink. There is a little gift shop with a bathroom too but not much else. Simple, easy, stress free fun for a shorter entertainment period. 😊

2021-08-28Definitely will return here!! We all had fun (I had more fun than them honestly lol) this was a great park better than I expected honestly ! Had a petting zoo, camel rides, cheap souvenir shop, animal food throughout the park in case you ran out of feed. The entertainment book and the mobile app has a coupon for the park . Definitely worth the trip! Wish the vending machine for drinks was in service though we had to walk all the way back to the main entrance

2021-10-28Love this Animal Park. Interactive and they have Barbary Lions. There are only around 100 lefts in the world. They are Beautiful and different than African Lions. It is a Must See. Named June and Cash and their son Simba. Affordable Friendly and lots to do. Love it
