Paul and his team did a great job assisting and making great recommendations for our new kitchen design. They provided us some really great suggestions on how we can improve the flow of our kitchen and make it more functional. They provided us a 3D blue print of the design that really helped us visualize the kitchen. In addition, this was our first kitchen renovation job. Main Line Kitchen Design provided us all types of tools to help guide us with options, timelines and what we needed to do as the homeowner. We also chose to use Paul for not only the cabinets but our countertops. It really made our life easy. We did have a few curveballs along the way but Main Line Kitchen Design stepped up and delivered. We had a few cabinets that came in damaged, but Main Line Kitchen Design had replacements out to us in days so the job did not get delayed. One person in particular I really enjoyed working with is Ed. He is top shelf! He is the person that coordinates a lot of the delivery and replacement cabinets. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He understands customer service. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience with Main Line Kitchen Design and highly recommend them.
We reached out to Paul and his team at MLKD for help with our kitchen remodel. We were short on time and clueless, but they were so professional and detailed during our initial consult that we hired them right away. The MLKD team worked tirelessly with us to make the perfect design for our kitchen and ensured the procurement and prompt delivery of our cabinets and countertops. They also recommended an excellent installation contactor, and we were just thrilled with the end product. Thank you Main Line Kitchen Design!
I reached out to this company today to request information for a potential kitchen renovation by filling out their online form. I was contacted within 10 minutes of clicking submit, which surprised me by a gentleman with a thick NYC accent. I spoke to the gentleman who said he had pulled up my homes Redfin listing and said that he noticed many illegal things in our kitchen. I was taken aback by this, since our very thorough inspector did not say anything in our kitchen was illegal. (Besides, what he was pointing out was not illegal. In my opinion, this was a scare tactic used to pressure me to use his company). He then asked what were were looking to do, and I began describing our plans for the project. He then rudely interrupted me, indicated that kitchen designers know better than customers, that they are the experts, and that they would design my kitchen for me and then it would be better than what I wanted. I tried to explain that we own an older home, wanted to ensure that the renovation made sense in a historical context, and that we did not want cookie cutter. He insulted me by saying that most customers dont actually know what they want and if I wanted to direct the design plans, then project would inevitably go wrong. Im not sure if this man thought he was selling his company, but he did sell me on one thing - this was a company that I should stay away from. In my opinion, did not treat me with a basic level of respect that all customers deserve and I was very upset by the call.
We loved our experience with Chris Rossetti and Main Line Kitchen design. We remodeled our kitchen in 2021 and Chris was the first person we contacted. He not only helped us pick out cabinets but helped us visualize our new kitchen layout with 3D drawings and expert advice. From there, Chris really became our overall project coordinator. He helped us pick countertops and found us a reliable contractor to do the work. I dont think our kitchen would have ever been completed without Chris assistance. Cant recommend Main Line Kitchen design enough.
Lauren did an amazing job of helping us create our dream kitchen. She was extremely detail oriented and an excellent problem solver. Upon her initial visit to my house she suggested opening our kitchen to the rarely used dining room. This relatively easy change helped us to finally use the 40 percent of our downstairs (dining room and formal living room) that we never used for the 13 years we had been living in our house. MLKD offered several very good options for cabinets but not so many that the decision was overwhelming. We ended up using Brighton for the quality and semicustom options and couldnt be more pleased with them. There were a few small issues that were resolved quickly by both Brighton and MLKD and we were more than satisfied. A shout out to Ed Sossich who handled payments and deliveries as well, he was a pleasure to deal with and always got back to me quickly with answers to my questions. I love our new kitchens look and functionality, its truly been life changing!!
Great service by Ed. Our kitchen old design was not functional and Ed proposed a design which opened up the space. Mainline suggested a few contractors and we went with Walt Kaufman. The crew was very professional and did a wonderful job translating the design into reality. All in all, I had a great experience for our first major renovation project in our house.
Similarly to other one star reviews here, I was called just after hitting submit on the Contact inquiry form where the owner of the company immediately launched into comments about when I must have moved into the home as the Zillow photos are still up, instead of asking me about what I was looking to have done in the kitchen started telling me what he personally felt was wrong with the current design. After he finished, I began to explain I had thought the same until I actually started using the kitchen, and that we would like to keep the existing layout the same, but he continued to rudely interrupt me, indicating that kitchen designers know better than customers, that they are the experts, and that they would design my kitchen for me regardless. I personally do not understand why you would want to waste your own designers time if they will have to redo the renderings but thats your call, bud. The lack of professionalism truly astounded me but unsurprised to see I am not the first person to have this type of interaction. I have spoken with a few other dealers and all have been wonderful, except for this one. If I could give zero stars I would - your rudeness is a true reflection of who you are as a person, and regardless of what you think about your own services I highly recommend you stop interrupting and speaking over your customers as a matter of general decency.
Ive had the pleasure of photographing at least a dozen of Main Line Kitchens finished renovations and what I repeatedly hear from clients are what a great experience they had working towards their final design. In addition to happy clients, their work is a joy to capture. As they say, a photograph does not lie.
What an amazing company! The owner, Paul, provides an amazing service to people looking to remodel their kitchens. Not only do they offer cabinets and design services, but Paul maintains an amazing website loaded with information for people that are not local to assist in their kitchen remodels. He provides information on cabinet quality, recommended designers that meet his strict standard, answers questions on his website and even reviews plans for people free of charge. I could not have made it through my project with confidence without him! Thank you!!!
My husband and I used Main Line Kitchen Design to renovate our kitchen, bathrooms and mudroom. It was a pleasure working with Paul McAlary from start to finish. The design process with Paul was fantastic. We had many other contractors give their suggestions on how they would renovate our kitchen, but Paul was the only one that suggested a different and more efficient design. Paul’s design maximized the space we had available and provided the best flow for our kitchen. He came to our house for many of the meetings we had so he could conceptualize every design detail. He incorporated the ideas that we wanted to include in our design while keeping our budget in mind. The cabinets and other materials that we purchased from Main Line Kitchen Design were fairly priced and had no hidden costs. Paul was dedicated and conscientious during the whole process including installation ensuring that we received our dream kitchen. Paul ultimately deigned us a beautiful custom kitchen that surpassed our expectations! We highly recommend Main Line Kitchen Design to anyone who is considering kitchen renovation.
Worked with them. The Kitchen designer seemed lost and was not knowledgeable about the products. She repeatedly made the kitchen the way she wanted and ignored our desires to make the island bigger. In addition she came to our house and measured and we gave her the very basics of what we wanted and during our design call we had to repeat all these to her and wait while she designed the kitchen in real time. We scheduled a follow up call with her and she was again unprepared so we cut it short.Mostly we feel like we just wasted a month and half waiting for measurements and designs.Edit 1:Owner called and offered to refund our fee and provide the plans if I consider removing this review. Probably a good reason they have so few poor reviews. And about the plans...the initial plans lacked a dishwasher, had the wrong size oven and the wrong type of cooktop. Not to mention the wrong cabinet sizes and forgot to add in a wash room that was measured. And on the second call she was utterly unprepared to discuss the differences in the line of cabinets we had asked for a quote in. Yeah I cut the process short. It was excruciating watching my time be wasted by an unprepared designer.
My husband and I finally decided to invest the time and money into a kitchen renovation, which quite frankly was overwhelming and a huge undertaking. Our designer, Lauren Sciarra was able to take our small space and transform it into a kitchen, worthy of Pinterest! And we couldn’t be more thrilled. From the floor plan, to cabinet selection and coordination with our contractor, Lauren was very attentive, dependable, kind, considerate, thorough, extremely professional and very reassuring throughout the process. Once our cabinets were ordered, Ed Sossich was so easy to get ahold of and always had answers for us. We ran in to a few snags (in my opinion that’s to be expected though) and Ed and Lauren made sure that everything worked out, hassle free on our end.Lauren, Ed and the Mainline team we cannot than you enough. We can’t wait for all the wonderful memories that will be made in our kitchen for years to come!!
We did a complete kitchen remodel using Main Line Kitchen Design and one of the contractors they recommended. Everyone we worked with was fantastic. Our designer was great. We met several times, and he always answered my emails promptly. We took down a wall and moved our kitchen into the other side of the room. The contractor was terrific. I highly recommend them for a full kitchen remodel.
I used Main Line Kitchen Design for a kitchen renovation with construction changes and was very pleased with their work. Our original kitchen/dining/laundry room/bath layout was very awkward and challenging to redesign, with a very narrow opening between the kitchen and dining room and a full bath that opened right into the kitchen. Our kitchen designer, Lauren Sciarra, developed a layout that involved knocking down the wall between the kitchen and dining room, closing the wall to the bathroom, and creating an entry into the bathroom from the laundry room. In the process, she opened up our space, gave us a much bigger island, and made the whole area much more usable and navigable. In addition to the excellent kitchen design, Lauren was a pleasure to work with. She took the time to explain the sound reasons for all of her recommendations and steer us away from poor design choices. She was also very patient and professional and sat with us for many hours while we configured and re-configured cabinets and pantries until they were exactly how we wanted them.Although the renovation process during a pandemic was not much fun, we couldnt be happier with the result. I highly recommend Lauren Sciarra as a kitchen designer!
Our family had the pleasure to work with Lauren Sciarra from Main Line Kitchen Design and words cannot describe how happy we are with the results. At first we went to home depot for a kitchen remodel design and realized quickly we were just a number to them and that we needed better service. We then went to Main Line and got paired with a true professional in what she does and it was literally night and day from what we got at home depot. Lauren was so knowledgeable and walked us through everything she was planning to do; from cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring, 3D designs, actual prints, zoom meetings until the late evenings, providing us with the best contractors, and most importantly, understanding/working within our budget to give us our DREAM kitchen! What is so amazing is she is still following up on the design to make sure we are satisfied and that all is up to expectations. Let me tell you, this has far exceeded our expectations! Thank you Lauren!
Paul and his Main Line Kitchen Design group are a quality 1st operation from the beginning until the last dust is swept up. He insists on quality from his sub contractors and suppliers because of his unrelenting focus on his clients needs. I know from personal experience that he demands a lot from his builders and everyone he recommends, but it is all part of his professional program to insure the project looks perfect in the end. I cant really say enough good things about them. His clients love him and we feel proud to be able to associate with Main Line Kitchen Design.
Main Line Kitchen made our complete kitchen reconstruction a pleasant and satisfying experience. It was obvious right away that Paul knew what he was talking about. He created a beautiful design for us and guided us to the right cabinet choices. I really appreciated his always trying to point out where less expensive choices would be good, so we could spend where we needed to and save where it was ok to save. We are extremely happy with how it turned out. If I had to somehow do this again I would hire him again in an instant.
I was working on my plan for kitchen renovation and found Main Line online. After reading the information on their website, I learned an enormous amount, and it was clear that these are terrific designers. Unfortunately, I live outside their service area. I had a plan done by a local designer, but it needed to be optimized. Paul generously reviewed and modified my plan, so that I now feel comfortable moving forward. His knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to his work are unmatched!
A good kitchen designer is most important of all and puts our minds to rest on such a detailed project.Long story short. I am redoing my kitchen down to the studs. Our house is an older small home with an open concept design. I had accepted a design that I was not happy with, including a deposit for cabinets. Feeling apprehensive, I started searching the internet for design ideas when I came across Main Line Kitchen Design and it’s owner Paul Mcalary. Paul was fielding all sorts of design issues. He listened to my situation and offered to look at my design. I sent him photos as well. I did not know what to expect and was surprised to receive two rough drawings that addressed the open concept I had been looking for. Even though I live outside their service area, Paul still gave me his exceptional ideas promptly and took extra time to explain the differences so I could redirect my designer. I put the cabinets on hold until we agreed on a new plan. I am now using one of Paul’s hand drawings for my KD to use for the final design.I do know who I would hire if I lived in Mainline Kitchen Design’s area without question for a great experience overall.Paul, I can’t thank you enough for loving your profession and being so kind to share your expertise.Thank you, thank you!Cheri B.Boston, MA area
Its a rare thing to find a business that stands behind the work they perform and do so with honesty and integrity. I initially visited Main Line Kitchen Designs website when starting my research on the potential pitfalls associated with designing a new kitchen and selecting the cabinets. Once I began reading through the advice, I knew I had encountered people with knowledge and experience in the industry. Paul McAlary was the one who walked me through the entire process from answering questions to designing the new look of my kitchen to ordering the cabinets. Pauls knowledge is unmatched when compared to some of the other so-called professionals Ive contacted. Everyone else was simply there to take my money, give me cabinets, and be on their way. It was only Paul who took the time to look over the design of my kitchen and realize that it should be completely redesigned. His workup was amazing and our new kitchen is the envy of the neighborhood. The before and after is unreal! If anyone is looking to redo their kitchen and get a fresh, professional perspective, I highly recommend giving Paul a call. Main Line Kitchen Design is the exception to the rule! Thank you to Main Line Kitchen Design and a special thank you to Paul McAlary. I will make sure to post pictures as soon as we have things wrapped up.
I worked with Ed at Main Line Kitchens to design our kitchen during a very stressful whole house renovation / expansion. To say he worked with me is an understatement. Ed might just have earned his counselor credentials as he guided me through some uncertainties, even calling me late one night from home after receiving a distressed email about a decision I was making. He ultimately helped steer me towards a cabinet line that fit my desired look, features, timeline, and budget and helped me see the pros and cons of the choices made along the way. He never pressured me and was able to accommodate a seemingly impossible timeline. He even came out to measure twice without complaint when my contractors werent ready the first time -- not at all his fault -- but he was gracious and kind and took it in stride. Ed was personable and easy to work with and I never felt like a number in his book. When we received our cabinets I wasnt happy with a couple doors (normal issues you would anticipate with a large order and a perfectionist on the receiving end) Ed worked with the vendor and had them replaced and shipped immediately to me and the job wasnt delayed. The vendor even called direct to ensure I was happy with the replacements. It is clear MLK has a strong reputation with their suppliers. Ed was quick with recommendations for other vendors when I needed materials fast for flooring, countertops, etc. and all the other vendors knew and respected Main Line and Ed.Our new kitchen is truly the center of our home and we have Ed to thank for bringing it all together. I would recommend Ed and MLK to anyone in need of kitchen design services and cabinetry. In fact, I already have.I did my due diligence and shopped around and was very happy with the competitive pricing that came along with the white glove service and hand holding I received through this process. The expertise from the team at Main Line cant be matched. If you have a chance to work with Ed, know you will be working with a great person who genuinely loves what he does, and in the end, that passion will show through in your kitchen design.
Paul, form Main Line Kitchen Design, could see the potential for a kitchen and dining room combination that no other designers could visualize. He helped us create an amazing space in our 1930s home on a limited budget, preserving the details of an older home that we love, and bringing us into the 21st century. His ideas were clear, bold and simple, resulting in a beautiful, light filled, work and entertainment area that is perfect for how we live. Thank you, Paul, for helping us update our kitchen and dining room by designing an open, efficient space that feels good, works brilliantly and looks great!
I would choose Paul all over again!!Paul was a terrific partner and resource in the renovation of the kitchen/dining room space in our 1925 home. I was hesitant to take on a project of this size and scope: so many decisions, and I wanted to make sure I made the right ones.I was looking for someone who knew a lot more about kitchens and design than I did, and could provide guidance at all phases of the project. I met with several kitchen designers, and Main Line Kitchen Design was - hands down - the best. Pauls depth of knowledge was unparalleled, and extended well beyond cabinetry. For any given decision point, he was able to give me an immediate, clear summary of pros and cons to help me decide. He didnt try and upsell me; in fact, he helped me understand the key factors that could help us manage cost without sacrificing the end product. He never rushed me in my decision-making. Extremely adept with the design software, he made changes live during our meetings so that I could see the impact of various choices quickly.I also appreciated his candor. Some kitchen designers will say yes to just about anything. I didnt want a yes person. Paul was straightforward about what was important from a design, function, and cost perspective. If I had an idea that was pretty much a bad one (and I had a few!), he told me, and I was glad to have that feedback. I know I have a much better kitchen as a result. He also referred me to several contractors he has worked with over many years. The one we chose - Amberwood Builders - did a terrific job. Paul and the contractor worked seamlessly together, and I could not be happier with the end product.
I would use them again for design services only. We paid a small fee for a design consultation which we were pleased with, but after that we were pressured to purchase cabinets when the company has no real showroom where you can see samples. There is a very small room with a few sample panels but no full kitchens where you can really get a feel for the quality of the products. When I expressed my desire to see real samples of the cabinets we were contemplating we were asked to pay to see them in the owners house! We went with another company which did not charge us for measure, design or view samples. We purchased beautiful custom cabinets for less than what this company intended to charge for cabinets they wouldn’t let us see. My advice is to go to Lancaster if you want local, handcrafted cabinets.
I moved into a new townhome and was looking to remodel a dated kitchen and bathroom. Chris was very attentive to what I needed and designed the kitchen of my dreams. Organization is very important to me but I dont like sacrificing aesthetics for that and that’s exactly what Mainline Kitchen delivered. Chris went above and beyond to make sure of every little things that go into the process of renovation. Whether it is a remodel or a ground up new, Mainline’s got you covered!
Paul of Main LIne Kitchen Design was able to transform my 1980s kitchen not only to a less dated look but to a much more functional design with increased storage and counter space in 2016. I do love my new kitchen. His experience and knowledge showed in all aspects of planning and implementation. He was also able to deal with the anxiety that accompanied a major renovation. He is a true professional.
Paul at Main Line Kitchen Design was able to assess the weaknesses of my current kitchen and come up with a great design that would fix all the existing issues. He is willing to share his expertise with not only customers in his business area but anyone who needs help re-designing their kitchen.Thank you Paul.
Hiring Paul and Main Line Kitchen Design was the one of the best decisions weve made for our home. Before finding Paul, we had consulted with another kitchen designer who seemed mostly interested in upselling us on features and gave us an exorbitant quote on cabinets. Paul, on the other hand, presented us with a range of options, both in style and cost, and never pressured us about any decision. In addition, Pauls design emphasized functionality and produced a layout that maximized the usable space in our kitchen. We had some ideas about our design going into our first consultation but frankly, some of Pauls ideas were better than ours. I encourage you to go into your consultation with an open mind as to your options, and I think youll be pleased with what you come up with together.
We love our new Kitchen! It was a very long time in the making and Paul jumped in to help us make great decisions! Tongue and groove all wood drawers. Many styles and colors. We chose Brighton cabinets and we are thrilled we did! Our builder Amberwood Builders worked wonderfully with Paul to create our amzing new kitchen!
These guys do a great job. They offer inexpensive all wood cabinets and higher end cabinets as well. We purchased the Fabuwood line and are pleased with the quality. Our contractor was also pleased. Paul is available anytime you need him and very helpful with design. He can also recommend contractors or you can use your own. The best part, no hidden costs or surprises. Honest company with nice people. What more could you ask for? If you live in the area and are considering a kitchen renovation call MLKD. You wont regret it!
Paul and his team are amazing to work with! I have rental properties and flip properties. They always do a great design of the kitchen and prices are very competitive weather im looking for something on the premium quality and design or economy. They always give me the same service even on a economy project. This company really takes pride in service. I have used them over ten times now and never disappointed. There great highly recommend trying them out.
Paul and team did a great job on our kitchen design, thinking outside the box and guiding us through debates that we had as we narrowed down the options to our final design. We had a very well planned idea of what living in the space would be like, which is invaluable in terms of both cost and (avoided) frustration. You won’t regret choosing them.
Main Line Kitchen Design was so helpful in the remodeling of our kitchen. The designer Paul came up with some never-before thought of ideas for our small(er) sized kitchen. He was very creative in the process of coming with various options for us to choose from. And options he gave us. He was also very skilled in utilizing the kitchen design software, and even allowed us to play around with the software to see if we could come up with something better. Paul listened to us and designed a kitchen to suit our needs. We needed to save money, but we didnt want to sacrifice anything in our kitchen due to monetary constraints. This was where Paul really came in, telling us every different way to save money (even if it was coming out of his pocket!). Paul is able to save a lot of money and pass that savings on to you, his client, because he doesnt have a big cabinet warehouse. We highly recommend the cabinets Paul sells. Better than having a huge warehouse, Paul punctually brings the warehouse to your house. We didnt even have to leave our house. He brought several options of cabinets to our house, where we could get the touch and feel of each cabinet we would be receiving. We preferred this to going to a big warehouse where we typically get lost when looking at the several options. Paul narrowed the choices down and only showed us what he knew we would be interested in. In the end, we were able to save some money compared to going with some other Main line designers, but we didnt have to sacrifice anything in the kitchen. I highly recommend the cabinets he sells. They are beautiful and cheaper than you can find anywhere, especially Home Depot and Lowes. Our kitchen is beautiful. Thanks a bunch!Importantly, Paul is as nice as it gets when it comes to being a person. We also highly recommend the contractor that he works with, Ed Blackman.
I am a General Contractor, I have worked with Paul McCalary for the past 15 years as he has progressed though the kitchen design world. Paul is by far one of the best designers in the tri state area. His skills and expertise is surpassed by none. You can check out his web site to appreciate the quality of his designs and of the cabinets his company distributes. I have several projects in different stages of completion, As the job progresses, Paul is always available for questions or will come to the job site to make sure everything goes as planed. There is not many designers that will go the extra mile. I will be working with Paul for many years to comeA.D Panaccio Building and Renovating Contractors Inc.
My experience with Main Line Kitchen Design was not a professional one. I live exactly 26 miles from Main Line Kitchen Design. When I asked if they served my area, they said yes but with the added cost of $250.00 for the first visit and $250.00 for the second visit--a far cry from their blanket online offer of a free consultation. I said Id incur the costs, and we set a consultation date. Then a couple of days before the date, I received an email from Main Line requesting my credit card number so they could charge be before the meeting. Ive dealt with many contractors and this is a first. When I didnt respond after a day, I received this email: Since you never called I booked up tomorrow and I think I will pass on your job in any case. You are a little far away and if things arent running smoothly before we start that is usually a sign that they may continue that way. No hard feelings I hope.Shortly after, I effortlessly booked an appointment with another wonderful kitchen design company. Thankfully, they had an opening and they met with me the next day, no strings attached. It felt like night and day. Trusting my gut feeling was a good choice in this case.
Okay, full disclosure first: I did not use this company because I live in Colorado and could not afford to fly a kitchen designer out here. However, if I lived ANYWHERE with a several-hour drive of this place I would use them in a second. Would not even get bids from anywhere else. I did EXHAUSTIVE research before doing our kitchen remodel, and much of the information and decisions I made were based on reading the blogs on this site, one in particular (a really long one) about cabinets. I also read lots about design on the site. The effort and time that was put into the blog posts and commenting on peoples questions on the blog (and personally answering a couple of mine via email) seem to reflect very deep knowledge about kitchen design and remodeling, and also a deep caring that something is done right.
Paul McAlary, the president, met with us to redesign our 15-year old kitchen. He absolutely transformed it. His design experience was invaluable. He took out the kitchen island and designed a peninsula that opened the space, providing more work space. He suggested a contractor to complete the work who was very meticulous with craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our kitchen is the envy of the neighborhood…and we kept within our budget.
I loved working with Paul! He was incredibly patient with all of the little tweaks we wanted in the kitchen and was very honest as to what would look good and what wouldnt - which is exactly what I needed! He hooked us up with a phenomenal installer (Joe Rawa) - Joe and Paul make a great team and I loved working with them both!
Main Line is among the first calls you need to make. I strongly recommend calling Main Line before initiating any work on your kitchen remodel. They are both knowledgable and professional. Paul was thorough and quickly answered all of my questions. I wish I had discovered Main Line Kitchen Design earlier!
Given how good the other reviews were (which is also why I reached out to these folks), I think I must have caught them on an off day. Or, off three days...Honestly, I have never been more insulted in my life, and I didnt even come to them with a plan - just a request to do a kitchen design in advance so that - since we are redoing mechanicals in our house - wed be in a good position when we were ready to do the kitchen.Per their request, we sent pictures, a few dimensions, and some working drawings of our home expansion that is next to the kitchen. When we spoke on the phone (note, they said they would call me at a certain time, but lost my number - over 24 hours later they emailed to ask me to call them), they *immediately* kicked off the conversation by calling me and my husband deluded idiots?! What did we even do to these guys? Then, they called my architect (whos probably been in business longer than this dude has been alive), my contractor (borderline genius), and my designer (well-respected and a busy woman!) - amateurs. What? He claimed we put no thought and planning into our expansion that we have been working on for over a year, when our primary goal was to preserve the flow and look and feel of our current home - and he saw probably 50% of ONE FLOOR of our house - he had no idea where the entry was, where the stairs were - nothing. He also went on a tirade about not having furniture shown on our working drawings, so I can only assume hes never worked on a construction project before. He also told me I was stupid for not doing it - as though we had not planned where/how furniture would go in our new space? He also kept insisting that we had two dining rooms / eating areas even though I corrected him multiple times that we had no intention of doing that.He told me that the 225 square feet for a square-ish kitchen was not nearly enough space, even though he could have had more than that and we would have been happy to move doors, windows, walls, heck, wed have been happy to move the kitchen to a totally different part of the house (but he never gave me more than 1.5 seconds to get a word in edgewise before interrupting and insulting me again). In summary, the dude wanted to play architect and take over our working drawings so he could use the expansion to shoehorn a tasteless, cookie-cutter, flavour-of-the-day McKitchen into our cozy (he called casual with the intention to insult), funky, 1940s cottage. He has zero creativity and is unable to think progressively (for the record, my solitary constraint that he rejected was - the kitchen will not be a part of the expansion, the project will have to come later). If you want something unique to your style or home (honestly we would have been ok with something relatively cookie cutter, but the dude was just too rude), look elsewhere.I wish I had a recording of our conversation I could share with you. It was unbelievable. One star for being massively rude *before* asking for any money. I do appreciate that. But I grew tired of being insulted, interrupted, and, ultimately, ignored - and Im the person that always defers to the pros!UPDATE - the insults were 100% true, my husband and I called each other deluded idiot for the rest of the evening as a joke in response to the treatment we got. Also, I am 100% on board with making massive changes to plans - better now than when we break ground, right? Contrary to what he said to me, I am actually not completely stupid. The reason we are not going with this company is because 1) he jumped to conclusions 2) he refused to ask questions 3) he refused to let me speak 4) when I did speak, he outright ignored me and 5) he literally, unbelievably, called us names. I would have given him a machete to attack our kitchen - and, in fact, that is what I had hoped he would do. But he attacked us personally instead, and I still dont know what we did wrong!
I was completely lost about my kitchen cabinets. I contacted Paul. He was nothing but honest, direct and kept MY best interest at heart as we discussed my situation. Believe me I have been through so many people trying to get an honest straight forward answer. I wish he was located in my area. I highly recommend him .
What can I say? From beginning to end, MLKD was an awesome experience and I highly recommend them to anyone. The truly personal service you receive and the high quality product you end up displaying and using is worth any stress that may come from the process. Renovations are never easy, but having someone guiding you that feels like a true partner really eases a great deal of the burden. My wife and I are extremely happy and you will be too.
My husband and I reached out to MLKD to redesign our kitchen and were connected with Chris R. We knew it was a huge project, one we wanted to do once and do it right, and that we needed help. We couldn’t be more happy with the end result. Our kitchen was aesthetically dated with a poor layout that wasn’t working for us at all. Chris came out to our home to get measurements and then we had a couple zoom calls where we discussed design ideas. It was very collaborative but with him guiding us as the expert. For example, I was very interested in an island but unsure if it would work. He kindly made it clear it wasn’t go to work for our space and presented us with alternatives. In hindsight, if we tried any sort of island we would’ve been sorry and he saved us from that. He also helped us move a door which changed the entire kitchen. My husband did the math — with the design Chris came up with we went from having approx 90” of countertop space to 195”; base cabinets went from 51” to 170”; and upper cabinets went from 81” to 174”. Plus, we went from zero pantry space to two 24” floor to ceiling pantries. We were also able to include a full size fridge, a 36” range with a 42” range hood. He really did an excellent job of helping us optimize our space and guided us through the early stages of the renovation process. Chris also connected us with a contractor local to us. He never upsold us and was transparent about all the materials and add-ons. He was professional and responsive through the entire process. We also worked with Camilla and Juliet in the process who were also very helpful and communicative. I would absolutely recommend MLKD to anyone looking for design services. I am so glad we connected with them and now have a dream kitchen.

2021-11-15Gosh, where can I even start. Lauren, my designer, is relentless with her work ethic. Her attention to detail is second to none. She took my vague ideas and made them into a fantastic kitchen. We went through so many layouts until I gave it the green light. For that I thank her for her patience. My small galley kitchen in Manayunk was a challenge, trust me. I hope once you read this you decide to request her. She won’t disappoint, a true professional with an exceptional vision.

2022-05-23We love our new kitchen! Being young and having no experience ever having a home renovation originally made the idea of re-doing our kitchen kind of scary, since we werent sure if we would fall for hard sells or contractors cutting corners. Working with Chris and MLKD was the best decision we could have made! Chris designed a kitchen that maximized all of the space in our small kitchen, and made it feel giant. Im very happy with the quality of work that the contractors produced as well, and it was nice having them work with Chris directly and knowing exactly what to do to re-create Chriss designs.Overall, the experience of working with MLKD was great, and well be contacting them again for when we want to re-do our bathroom :)

2022-08-26After 30+ years the kitchen really needed updating. I had heard good things about Main Line Kitchen Design and was sure Id get a nice new kitchen. I ended up getting much more. Pauls innovative and elegant design transformed the house. From early meetings to cabinet choice to Mark the Delivery mans efficiency the entire process was easy. The recommended contractor Walt was excellent and it was a pleasure having him and his crew around the house. I also had an especially good experience with Rob at AAA Hellenic who supplied the granite counter top. Even with an inexcusable delay caused by a third party materials supplier I couldnt be happier with the entire experience.

2021-08-04Renovating our extremely dated and very inefficiently laid-out kitchen was a dream of ours since we moved in 16 years ago. We wanted to remove walls and really change the space and planning it always seemed so overwhelming. One day, I came across Main Line Kitchen Design. I highly recommend this service and especially our designer, Chris. Chris came out to look at the space, he listened to our ideas, threw in a few ideas of his own, and a few weeks and some Zoom calls later, we had a plan to work with. Chris was very thoughtful in his design. We came with an idea of what we wanted, and somehow, Chris made it all work. There is not an inch of wasted space in our new kitchen; the layout is wonderful and its a pleasure to cook now. Chris helped us through every step of this process. He provided guidance for all kinds of things-- trends, appliances, cabinet inserts-- he was a great resource. It didnt end there, either. Chris helped us find a contractor to complete the plans, and he personally supervised our cabinet delivery. When we had an issue with our countertop availability (we chose a vendor that wasnt on the list-our mistake), Chris worked with a supplier to get our counter measured and installed. Main Line Kitchen Design made this process as simple as possible. Chris is a great listener and really had a vision for our space. We are thrilled with how well it turned out!

2022-01-21We had a terrific experience with Ed under very difficult circumstances. Our house was destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Ida and we had to gut the whole first floor. We were in temporary housing with our two little kids and dog, which was not ideal, so just wanted to move as quickly as possible in the rebuild. We called MLKD and Ed was out here the next day, with a beautiful new kitchen design shortly afterward. He held our hand through every step of the process, including getting us set up with a fantastic contractor (Rich Werner) for the install. We could not be happier with the outcome - thanks so much to Ed, Rich, and the MLKD team!

2021-12-07I love my new kitchen! I worked with Paul & his design for my space is fantastic. My dark, dreary old kitchen and dining room has been transformed into a wonderful space for my family. He was so helpful throughout the whole process. All of his suggestions were right on the mark. I am at the far end of Main Line’s service area and when I struggled to find a contractor, Paul recommended one who has done a great job. It’s been a very positive experience from start to finish!

2020-12-24We worked with Ed from Main Line Kitchen Design and could not be happier with how our kitchen turned out. After going to a general contractor on our own, we were disappointed with how high the quote was for what we were asking for. When we found Ed, he gave us the same cabinets at a lower cost. As for the design itself, Ed was the only person to suggest using a wall that (at the time) had no cabinetry. That suggestion ended up giving us more counter space and more storage, and its something we would have never thought of on our own. He prioritized function, and kept our opinions in mind when helping us design our kitchen. He even set us up with an amazing contractor who we now want for all of our future home projects.Even during the renovation, we ran into some issues with the cabinet doors getting scuffed, but Ed was able to quickly replace them. Id recommend Main Line Kitchen Design to anyone looking for a kitchen remodel at a fair price!

2022-03-22We worked with Chris Rossetti and he helped us get our dream kitchen! He was absolutely fabulous! We had a lot of non-traditional ideas and he was so supportive of our creativity and style and helped us figure out a way to make our kitchen design both beautiful and functional. It could not have turned out any better. Absolutely recommend using main line kitchen and working with Chris!

2022-08-18We worked with Paul at Main Line Kitchen Design and after several iterations to refine the design (and us changing our minds on a few things), we made the decision to proceed with our kitchen remodel. We purchased the cabinets from Main Line and used a contractor recommended by Paul and we are extremely pleased with both. Our new new kitchen exceeds all expectations. Thank you Paul and the whole team at Main Line Kitchen Design.
