2019-02-08A price comparison in Feb 2019 showed little significant difference (less than 5%) between McNaughton and a local competitor in 3 classes of feed: chicken (layer), sweet feed (grain mix with light molasses) and shelled corn McNaughtons own brand of chicken feed is made up with a protein concentrate derived from poultry parts from industrial slaughter. The most recent bag of it I bought was obviously contaminated with rat feces.The competitors nutritionally-comparable product was entirely vegetable in origin, cost 8% more and had no visible rodent waste contamination. The proprietor vigorously denied having any rodents whatsoever in his grain mill.McNaughton accepts payment by check or in cash; no credit cards or debit cards. They are friendly, as are their competitors service employees.It is not worth the extra expense to deal with this company or use its products. We will use their competitors and seek other alternatives.
