I firmly believe that there is no other funeral home in the area that could make the process of losing a loved one easier and a little less painful. I had the blessing of stumbling across McCafferty Funeral & Cremation when I lost my mother unexpectedly in 2018. Mark made the nightmare I was forced to live a little more bearable. His guidance, professionalism and most of all, humanity and kindness made me feel comforted. He promised to care for my mom as his own. We were forced to cross paths again when I recently lost my aunt last week. I instantly knew that there was no one else that could take better care of my aunt. Mark has once again made this process less painful and has given me the comfort I’ve needed. I will eternally be grateful for the excellent service he provides and I highly recommend him to those that will someday need him for what we are least prepared to take care of in life.

I attended the funeral of my Aunt yesterday and it was coordinated by McCafferty Funeral home. The service was seamless, the staff courteous and attentive. From 13 years ago , when we buried our Mother to a few months later when we had to bury our brother ! And this week ,we had to say goodbye to our father ! The McCafferty Family has truly been a blessing through it all !! Professional,compassionate ,courteous! This was the first time that Ive needed to plan a funeral service. Luckily, we contacted Mark at McCafferty Funeral and Cremation. Not only were Mark and his staff caring and sympathetic to the passing of our Nana, but they made the entire process easy and seamless. Every time we had a question for Mark, he replied quickly without making us feel like we were a burden. Mark handled every detail from start to finish and made the tribute to our Nanas life special for our family and friends.In addition to creating a special day of remembrance for our Nana, Mark made the funeral affordable for our family. In fact, his costs were several thousand dollars less than the other funeral home from whom we had received a prior estimate. No one ever enjoys the process of losing a loved one. I unfortunately went through the loss of both my mother (at age 48) and her father, my grandfather, to cancer. As quickly as we got the diagnosis is as quickly as we were planning the funeral. There wasn’t much time to wrap our heads around the entire situation of what’s happening either time before we were at McCafferty. For my mother, I worked with Mark and he was wonderful. He helped make the process as smooth as possible as I was 25 years old and didn’t know much about this process. Hell, I was still in a fog as to how quickly this all happened. Mark wasn’t just doing his job, he was helping me with the hardest thing I’d ever do at such a young age.Koryn helped me with the planning of my grandfathers funeral and her ability to bring some light to a dark situation takes real style and class. The business she’s in isn’t easy.They were accommodating, supportive, and most importantly kind. They have a job to do as well and they do it with ease. People like Mark and Koryn deserve an award. These are the type of people you never forget in your life. At a time when I needed it the most, it was the McCafferty funeral home that was a source of great comfort and solace when my father died. My father’s death came quickly, not giving me a chance to get everything in order. But I only had to make one phone call to Mark at the MacCafferty Funeral Home and he took over for me, not only taking the time to explain about all those small details that complete a funeral service but he also provided reassurance while answering all my questions. What a great job. I never write reviews but I was inspired to do so after my experience with the staff at McCafferty Funeral Home. They were the best priced funeral home in the area. They did a great job preparing our mother and made her look so much like herself. They handled every request we had and never made us feel rushed. I would give them 10 stars if that was an option!
This is the best place to have a funeral. Everyone we talked to was amazing. Our family suffered a tragic lost and this family took us in and made us feel like we were part of their family. They were respectful, courteous and went above and beyond to meet all of our needs.

A very dear member of our church passed away, and her daughter a dear friend of mine contacted this place after talking to other places. They were nice and compassionate, they listened and offer support.The place is much more affordable than others and the installations are top of the line, clean spacious and everyone is courteous and helpful.They did not impose anything and listened to every detail my friend asked for, they also found all the songs we asked to play and played all pictures we send.I usually don’t give 5 stars, but this place truly deserves them.

Not just Mark McCafferty, but everyone at McCafferty Funeral Homes was a pleasure to deal with. Mark responded to all calls and inquiries very quickly even late on a Friday afternoon. My family and I were also able to handle everything regarding our cousins wishes via emails or phone calls, including having his ashes mailed to us saving us the hour drive from Delaware County to Frankford Avenue. And the price and service were the best my family found after searching Delaware, Chester and Phila counties. We would highly recommend McCafferty.
Mark, his entire family and staff were nothing short of amazing in handling my mothers funeral on May 11, 2020. From having her body transported from Jim Thorpe to Philadelphia to planning everything to the most minor detail made a difficult situation bearable. Having to bury a loved one during the Covid situation was horrible. Only having a limited amount of people be there was very hard on the family. It was not the send off that we had hoped for; but, Mark made it a beautiful and intimate funeral. One of my biggest fears that day was having my 8 year old son see my mother in the casket...I didnt want that to be the last image of her. Marks daughter did a beautiful job with my mom. She looked at total peace, ten tears younger, she was sleeping! The first thing I said when I saw her was, Mom, you look so pretty! Thank you for all of your kindness, it will never be forgotten. This is the third time that we have had to call upon Mark and his family for their services. All three times involved our loved ones being transported from out of state. Mark and his team have always taken a difficult situation and helped eliminate the stress and worry. Truly a professional and never fails to provide the personal touch. This is the best place to have your familys services. Its hard to write a review on such bad moments in your life but McCafferty helped so much during this time. All of family and friends kept texting me to compliment the place and the staff. The staff was so sweet my main memory is having one of staff helping out one of my friends by sitting with her son who was scared to come in and allowing her to come inside and pay her respects.
We buried my girlfriends mother today. We met with Koryn this past Monday. Koryn was very caring while explaining the funeral home process and patiently answered all our questions. I used with their services for my fathers funeral, so when my mom passed away recently, they were the only place I would go to. We all know how heartbreaking,devestating,unbearable,and in some cases shocking and confusing it is and feels to have a loss of a loved one occur :( then follows the stressful, frustrating, and in majority of these hurtful experiences the expensive responsibilty and task of laying your loved one to rest:( I honestly can say by my own experiences that myself along with my family were very shocked and confused with the news of our brother (uncle ,son,step brother and in law) passing. We were hurting beyond the normal pain and heartache which really isnt any normal place or level to compare the experience but we were so overwhelmed and lost and under so much pressure the last thing we were ready to take on was the arrangements for the cremation,funeral etc. Not knowing where to turn which way to go where our brother would be taken cared of the very very best We started the research the phone calls the emails and as many as we found and inquired about we couldnt be more happier more satisfied and grateful for McCAFFERTY FUNERAL&CREMATION INC HOME located at 6709-11 frankford avenue in the philadelphia section of pa 19135 with that one phone call to Mark he took care of everything No stone was left unturned allowing my family and i to concentrate on what really matters He took over and handled it as if it was his very own arrangment to plan (god forbid please bless him&his family as well as keep them safe,happy&healthy) not only did he take the time to explain all the small details as well as the main concerns and details but he also provided reassurance while answering all my questions. 2022-05-25If there is anything Guaranteed In this world, it is that this is the absolute best funeral home in the world. My mother was laid to rest here back in 2003, and I have had many more family members laid to rest over the years here. I still drive past it almost everyday, and it is amazing to me of how well they keep up with their property, and is just a great staple of the community. They treat their clients like it is their own family, and just always make you feel welcomed. Although you are dealing with a death, they somewhat make you feelBetter!

2022-05-23I didn’t have a service with them but the initial phone call left me bothered. I never once was offered a condolence about the loss of my family member and the entire experience seemed rushed. The woman who I spoke to could care less and continuously stressed how they were busy and she didn’t have time to sit down and talk. While conversing with her, it led me to believe she didn’t want to assist my family, whether her decision may have been under prejudicial means or due to her being overwhelmed, nevertheless I chose not to work with them.

2018-11-02My brother passed away on October 24th 2018. Leading up to the funeral on Nov 1st clarity and attention to detail was number one priority with Mark, his family and employees and it was done so in a manner that was sincere, courteous and professional. I cannot overstate how pleased we were with the proceedings from start to finish. My brother was given an excellent send off and is smiling from heaven.

2020-09-09I want to take the time to hightlight how special this funeral home was during this difficult time when my mother departured. From the first phone call, to the services, the accomodations for sound and video, the flowers, the kidness of Mark, Lissa and her beautiful and gracious daugther, to the details of how things were handled etc. They just made this time easier to bear. Always ready to help and to provide what ever we need it. They also were able to help us play our preferred songs in the parking lot.... 2020-04-27My grandmother suddenly passed after a hard battle with cancer. My husband and I were taking care of her night and day while she was in hospice at her home with her husband/my grandfather. Although we knew her time was near, it was still such a hard time to have her leave, especially when we were just in the beginning stages of planning for what happens next. Due to some major, unfortunate, and ongoing family disputes, I was the only person and next of kin who was able to plan her services. I had no idea how to plan a funeral! Mark McCafferty walked me through EVERYTHING. I had no fears and he made everything so relaxing and almost a joy to plan because I knew we were choosing such a beautiful arrangement to lay my grandmother to rest. I have heard of some terrible, soulless, money hungry funeral homes who take advantage of people in their time of grief. My grandfather loves my grandmother so much, I think he was willing to spend an exorbitant amount for her services. Mark actually suggested best ways to save money and keep things beautiful and reasonable while keeping to the word of what my grandfather wanted. Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark was there to answer all of my questions. That is honorable and I wish nothing but success and happiness to Mark, his family, and their business for their kind hearts. My husband and I, both in our 20s, have already said we’re sticking with this business for all future services. No matter how many times I say “thank you”, it just doesn’t show my gratitude and appreciation enough to everyone involved.

2020-02-06Mark was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this funeral home if you are in the Philadelphia area. It was such a difficult time for my family but Mark made it easy for our family. He was patient, helpful and always available by phone to answer any questions we had. The prices were quite reasonable and the day of my aunts viewing went smoothly.
