Nice place, friendly people. Was able to get the pet we needed. They were out of the food I needed but not only was I given a place to get it but also was given directions to get there. Will definitely recommend if you are looking for a pet. There was a kitten adoption going on when I was there and everyone who had a kitten was smiling on the way out. They definitely know what they are doing. Keep up the good work!!!

Absolutely love this place! Whenever I go in to get stuff for my ball python, i always caught myself ogling at the cool variety of reptiles they had. Finally, they were selling blue tongue skinks at a very nice price! My boy looks nice and healthy so far, if not a little sassy! Thank yall so much for all your help, will definitely be returning for other products!
I had the best experience here! They have an amazing selection that you cant find anywhere else. Great service and the employees are always eager to assist and give information when asked. Ive been to all the pet stores in the area. McCrackens is Definitely by far the best pet store for all of your pets needs.P.S.They also have an awesome giant sulcata tortoise.
Kinda hot inside, understand because of certain animals.. Ive bought a bunch of fish, alot of them are somewhat unhealthy and die within a few days.. My tank is well maintained, so I hope they can do a better job at maintaining their tanks.. Water was pretty dirty..

I stop in almost once a week… Sometimes just to check out the creatures and other times to quick grab some crickets/superworms for my dragons and Mantids. My three daughters love seeing Dozer doing his laps too, LOL. Tony and Weston are always super helpful. With our small scaly and furry zoo at home, it’s always reassuring to know it’s just a quick drive for supplies.If I HAD to make any suggestions, it would be that they increase their reptile supply stock with more brand variety and more bulbs specifically.But, I’m also pretty certain that if I needed something specific and it wasn’t there, that Tony would either order it or point me in the right direction!As a self proclaimed passionate animal enthusiast, I absolutely recommend visiting McCracken’s for a leisurely visit and/or an animal supply run!
Staff is super friendly and generally seem to care. I was a little disappointed the aquarium section is so small but for dogs, cats, birds this is a great local store. Prices seem fair. Especially for a small mom and pop store where prices are normally inflated to make up for the quantity sold.
Tony and staff know everything about so many creatures. They carry some quite pet foods too!

This store is one of the many hidden treasures in our area. They have an amazing selection of pet foods and supplies at fantastic prices. Our rabbit seems to always change his taste, preferring what is suddenly low or out of stock. We drove to multiple pet stores between Lancaster and Harrisburg (they were out) just to find it here and cheaper. This is our new go to store. Friendly and helpful as well. Cant get much better than that!
I have a loyal customer for years. I went to buy supplies today and the person at the cash register was not wearing a mask. I asked her to put one on and she refused. The manager would not speak with me and backed up the worker. There was no plexiglass or anything. They are showing zero concern for their customers.
Its a terrible store. Terible service and things are way over priced! My recommendation would be to go to petsmart or petco or that fish place. So I think its a crappie stor
A bit oddly located. Prices are pretty decent for a small town store. Just look out for free roaming birds!! They are nice just startled me! Service leaves something to be desired though. Cashier never once even looked me in the face . Never asked what were looking for or to help us.

Convenient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The prices are doable and not insane imo. If i dont feel like doing a 30 min drive to fish place and back Ill go here. The prices being slightly higher are no issue for me since it saves me a lot of time and gas from going to the large pet store. The store is clean, and offers things for dogs that I havent seen in other competitor locations. Having a zoo of a household this store is still enough to fit all of our pets needs. My spouse, and I have a dog, cat, bearded dragon, and a ball python while the rest of our family keeps 2 cockateils, 2 cats, and a tarantula. This store works out for us great when we need to stock up on pet supplies at a much shorter distance than fish place.
Love this place! Weve bought supplies here for our many animals, including a Sulcata Tortoise whos adorable! Its not just a store, its a great place to visit!

Very unhappy with this place they wont let my dog in the store because he peed on the floor I cleaned it up !! This is redculious if you ask me no pet is going to be perfect there is going to be accidents all the time From pets !! If you dont want dogs peeing on your floor then maybe you shouldnt allow any pets in at all
The staff here are nice and helpful. Their selection isnt quite what you see at bigger chains, but its never been a problem, they have all the necessities. Plus, supporting a local business is important to me.
Seemed to have nice selections for the average pet owner, especially those that need crickets or other live food. I have chihuahuas and they carried things more applicable to medium to large dogs. They did seem to have a great selection for those size dogs.
Great staff, very helpful! I was in search of a healthy food for my dog so i stopped in. I bought a brand called Artemis per their recommendation and i am very happy with the results! My dog is not itchy anymore and is eating less! I noticed that their prices on Nutrisource are also a few dollars cheaper than they are at Petsmart. Great atmosphere, would recommend to a friend (:A+
Always friendly staff, and easy to find what I need. Usually stop by on my way home from work once a week for cat food for my picky cat and frozen rats to feed my snakes (also they have the best prices and quality of frozen rats I have found).
They are always friendly and helpful. While the kids are browsing the pets they don’t hound you and are always willing to answer questions.

Friendly place to visit for pet supplies
I have a lizard and 2 dogs. In this area I usually go to the big name pet chain stores because of convenience, but I do not particularly care for them. I have been looking for a smaller place, friendlier place, a place with better, healthier, and cheaper crickets, and also a place that sells dubia roaches. McCrackens checked every box. Rushing home I forgot to stop at the PetCo around the corner from my work so I searched for pet stores near Elizabethtown. I called them to ask if they had crickets because a lot of smaller pet shops cater almost exclusively to cats and dogs and do not have reptile food, and if they do it is very poor quality. The guy who answered assured me they did, in 3 sizes. When I arrived he was cleaning the aquariums in three back area and stopped to see if I needed help. I mentioned I was also looking for a terrarium with doors on the front similar to one they had a lizard in. Bye did not but instantly went to his computer to see if he could get one. He ordered it and said it should be there next day off I wanted to cone in and check it out but no pressure. In the end, I got my crickets cheaper and healthier than I did at other places and got excellent service. I will definitely be back at the very least to buy crickets and roaches

We bought Fish and crickets off them and both dies within hrs of getting them to our house 6 doz. worth of crickets and 1 fish we finally Gave up now going somewhere else also on Sundays they say they open at 11am we where there at 1230 and no one was there to open the store

2021-08-02Loved it. Super cute animals and as far as I know, all in the right environments. I recommend going there for all your E-Town animal needs. Though I have been gping there for years with my nan (Dads Mother) and may be bit giving to much credit. Lol

2019-12-25Love this place for feeding my many reptiles, birds, invertebrates, rats, dog and cat! (I have a tiny zoo basically!) Fairly priced, excellent service. They make you feel like family. The CBS oil saved my anxiety ridden rescue dog!!

2020-10-26This place was SO WORTH the drive. We live in Dover Pa but my daughter has recently been on the market looking for Hand raised cockatiels, close enough to us that she could go meet the bird/birds and interact with them and another BIG FACTOR is that we didnt want to spend a small FORTUNE buying one. I gave her a $225 budget and she did the rest. We tried That Pet Place, which i have to say was an Amazing store. We were able to get quite a few toys and accessories for her birds cage there, however we were told by the bird lady that we couldnt interact with the birds individual bc of COVID & bc the birds would bite, which contradicted the online description of Hand Raised Birds, so she continued her search and Found McCrackens Pet Food & Supply. This shop is AMAZING, They have a HUGE VARIETY of creatures, critters & aquatic life to pick & choose from or just to look at. I was AMAZED to see so a large variety of WELL CARED FOR, LOVED & MAINTAINED animals at this shop. This place is So MUCH better then the BIG BOX PET SHOPS. If u have any pet or animal needs or are looking to add a new pet member to your family i DEFINITELY RECOMMEND MCCRACKENS to you
