If I could give no stars I would. I am just astonished how my family was treated yesterday 05/23/2022 including myself. I have a family of 4 and all of us needed to be seen. I called to register and they told me I had to register from my phone via text. Okay, no problem. I hung up and proceeded. It was severely hot outside. We all are fevered, and dehydrated from being so sick. I also have a hoopty with no AC. So we was blantly getting miserable. My phone was overheating and would not register. So, I called into the office They only registered my boyfriend and, when I went to get on the phone to register my 2 children and myself. I was hung up on. So, I called back trying to register us again. Meanwhile its already been 30 minutes not even being registered. They kept transferring me... Finally I got through and the lady was giving me a hard time about not having a email to put on file. She then had me on hold for another 15 minutes before I decided to hangup and call back. I called back and explained my frustrations trying to get us registered and the nurse was yelling over me on the phone. She was telling me not to argue with her (it takes two to argue) I was simply telling her why I couldnt register through via text. I needed to register over the phone. She then, tells me that she has patients to care for and Im wasting her time. I was absolutely astonished, upset, and distressed. I went the day previous and there was a 3 hour wait. I felt so bad for my sick toddlers in the back and it felt like we was being refused care. I told her to f**** off and I hung up. I will NEVER return to this med express even if I was dying. Highly dont recommend.

I just wanted to say my experience here was great. In fact every time I have been in for myself or another family member was very smooth process with great people.... when you treat them like people and not yell at them and talk down to them. I have sat in the building and heard the way patients just rip into the poor staff for next to nothing. How would they like to spend 8-12 hours a day with people constantly yelling at you for something out of your control? The people on here complaining dont seem to understand what the employees are going through. Does your doctor office see you without an appointment? Do they see you when their appointments are filled for the day? Do you get frustrated when you go to the hospital and have to wait 5, 6, 7 hours or more? Absolutely you do. That is part of the reason they do stop sometimes and allow the doctors to catch up instead of piling on even more and more patients. They are not a 24 hour facility that can just let people sit and wait and wait. Yes the wait times are high because they are picking up the slack of the other doctor offices and dept of health in the area who arent bothered to do covid testing. (two testing sites in almost two years is a joke dept of health) Their time is unfortunately being taken up doing covid testing on people who want to go on vacation or to a concert. That isnt the fault of the people in the building it is the fault of their corporate offices. Grow up and stop giving the employees such a hard time when they have been showing up everyday to treat the people during this almost two years when the rest of the county has forgot about you. Why give them a hard time when your own family doctor wont see you until you get a covid test somewhere else? Discuss that with your doctor instead. Try speaking to them without yelling and you would be surprised how nice they can actually be. I for one am very grateful to have them in the area and will continue to us them.

I was seen today March 29th, 2022 by a nurse practitioner at your Altoona facility named Desiree Williams.I had previously been seen on Sunday for symptoms that included chest and nasal congestion, headaches, cough, and general feeling of unwell. I had been unwell for about 24-48 hours prior to being seen at Medexpress. When I saw the PA on Sunday she gave me a short burst of steroids and told me I should return if my symptoms worsened.Last night I began coughing up and blowing from my nose a thick green mucus, I have lost my voice, and am generally feeling worse. As I have severe asthma and I am on Cimzia (to treat Ankylosing Spondylitis), which suppresses your immune system, I felt it would be in my best interest to return. I have been hospitalized on several occasions previously when something like this had not been treated promptly. From the moment Ms. Williams entered the exam room she was condescending and dismissive. She repeatedly told me I simply had a cold and that she just had a cold for 5 days and I just had to deal with it. I explained to her my condition with asthma and the immunosuppressive medication I am on, she wasnt hearing of it. I also informed her that both a close friend and my grandmother currently have pnemonia and she proceeded to tell me pnemonia is not contagious. This was brand new information to me as not only recent and past experience with pnemonia have proven it to be contagious, but the Cleveland Medical Center and the American Lung Associated both say that pnemonia is, in fact, contagious. I explained to her that mucinex was no longer working. She offered a cough suppressant and an antibiotic I would be allowed to fill after 5 days. This, she claimed was because a virus couldnt turn into a bacterial infection before 5 days was up. Please keep in mind, I have been ill since Friday. Now, Im no mathematician, but Friday to Tuesday adds up to five days. Given viruses and bacterial infections always use a human time table to advance. When I attempted to reiterate my chronic conditions she rolled her eyes at me, which she claimed was just blinking. At that point I ended the visit.I have been able to schedule with my primary care physician tomorrow, which means any treatment I need will be delayed as they could not fit me in today despite their best efforts. Why on Earth would anyone want to visit your clinic. I surely will not after my experience today.UPDATE: I wanted to take a moment to update you after yesterdays visit to your clinic. I visited my PCPs office today. After an examination I have been told that I have fluid in my ears, swollen lymph nodes, and an irritated throat in top of my severe congestion. The PA at my doctors office as well as the nurse could not understand why your clinic did not provide me with antibiotics as I am on an immunosuppressive drug and a little infection can turn big for me.I have been placed on amoxicillin to treat a sinus infection as well as any potential pnemonia. If I am not on the mend by Friday I will need chest xrays.

Ive been at the Altoona medexpress more times than I wanted to be. If it was an airport Id get frequent flyer miles. Ive never had a bad experience there. The wait can be long sometimes but your going to have that at any medical center. Ive sat in the hospital emergency room at lot longer than I ever did at medexpress. I was always treated with respect. They ask questions and cover all the bases. They never disrespected me and were always super friendly. The workers there are human. Put yourself in their shoes. I bet a lot of people complaining would have a different attitude if they had to deal with people complaining all day. People tend to treat people the same way they treat them. Sometimes you cant even park in the parking lot because they are so busy. Yeah, your going to have a long wait

My son was sick. It was his allergies. I knew it was his allergies from our cats. We got there at 9:17 am. But because he was coughing, no COVID-19 vaccine, not COVID-19 tested, but didnt have any other COVID-19 symptoms, we had to stay out in our car in very hot weather. We didnt get to enter the building until 11:50am. People were just going in and coming out before us. It seemed as though people they suspected of having COVID or had COVID symptoms was using one room. But, we get in and the doctor comes back after waiting for 20 more minutes. She checks him out and it was his allergies just severely acting up and another ear infection even though he just stopped his antibiotics three days before for his other ear being infected and his PCP cleared him at his follow up two days prior. We were out of there at 12:25pm. We were sent on our way with another antibiotic and told to buy OTC allergy meds. Obviously I was giving my son OTC allergy medicine and his prescription allergy medicine. Along with breathing treatments and his inhaler, but nothing was working for him to stop coughing and catch his breath. I just wish they would have taken more time with him and actually gave me a different solution to then what I was already doing. If they thought he was so contagious we had to stay out in the car, shouldnt they have at least tested him for COVID since he wasnt? I dont know. I am starting not to like doctors. Patients anymore are just seen as $$, you dont get good quality doctors much anymore.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I came in at 830am and the lady was rude and told me I had no business being in the building due to being congested and mentioning I have a cough. Then Im told to check in with them on the phone through a text message and Id be called shortly. I sat in my vehicle for 3 entire hours only to call in and be told its only a 1 and a half to 2 hour wait. If that were true I wouldve been in and out before 10am. I will never return to this business. Its proven to be a total joke honestly.

Everyone I had contact with was professional, courteous, and very helpful. The QR code outside for registration was a little off-putting to this almost 50-year-old, but I stumbled through. I preferred not waiting in a waiting room, but in the comfort of my vehicle. The registration staff on the phone and in person, the xray tech, and especially CRNP Desiree Williams were all very pleasant and professional (and I was the last or next to last patient on a Friday night). It took a couple tries to get my finger undislocated, but Im very grateful I was not in a hospital ED for hours. I drove 45 minutes from Everett, passing up the ED 10 minutes away (I hope this will be cheaper even though anything would be out of network). Mantra: be kind and treat others as youd like to be treated!

AWFUL administrative staff!! In Altoona PA talked to Tyfanny and she was RUDE!!! Sunday they denied me service because they said I had a back bill and to straighten it out w billing. They did finally see me after 3 calls begging, and a promise to contact billing Monday. Contacted Billing Monday and was told I didnt have a back bill. The local office said they didnt care what billing said .

Was in a car accident - Monday, Jun 13, 2022 - with a Chevy pickup that ran a stop sign and threw myself and my partner across the intersection and totalled her vehicle. She came here for an exam and had x-rays ordered for her neck and ribcage along with an Rx for painkillers and muscle relaxers by the PA on shift, who stated verbally to my partners face that she would have a return to work excuse dated for Friday, Jun 17 so that she would not be punished by her employer for missing work. One day later, we looked at the paperwork and noticed there was no specific return to work date, no restrictions, etc. After 3 unsuccessful phone calls and an attempted intervention by my partners HR manager, the employees at medexpress have fought tooth and nail to deny her an amended work excuse, claiming that not only could they not change anything since the same PA was not on shift, but that the PA was allegedly not scheduled to return to work any time in the future. The complete lack of empathy or cooperation on the behalf of medexpress employees is now resulting in my partner being at risk of losing her job. All because a single medical professional either made a small clerical error or straight up lied to her face - WE WERE LITERALLY HIT BY A TRUCK.Take my advice - go to the Altoona hospital instead.
