I brought a seafood Mexican platter, I should have known better, since they don’t do a bunch of business. I later regretted in. I got so sick, and, couldn’t stop> i went to the hospital, and, after a number of test, I was told that I had food poisoning. I already had known, because the seafood smelled like ammonia. After that horrible experience, you couldn’t pay me to eat ANYTHING out of that place!!!!!
Update: The baked goods are going downhill. Dont know whats wrong but they are not like I described before. The dinner menu is always good. BUT the cakes!!!!! This is my go to place for dessert, even if I have eaten elsewhere, I swing by here to get a slice of any of their desserts. Carrot cake is the best I have eaten, flan, apple cake, chocolate cake w/ buttercream frosting (last night), cheese cakes, etc. Everything is homemade as far as I know. This place used to be the baker for Rollers, then the Flying Fish, if anyone remembers them.
The customer service is good and place is clean. I ordered chorizo tacos nachos. I was disappointed with the tacos. They did not taste like chorizo, the texture was too smooth and it lacked flavor. I’m not sure what it was in that taco. The nachos were pretty ok though. I won’t be ordering tacos again.
Coming from California, Ive had lot of exposure to great Mexican food. My first experience here was not bad. The food was pretty tasty. It satisfied my craving. My issue has to do with the price. $12 for a basic burrito?! Are you kidding me? Beans, rice, cheese and inexpensive meat? My wife and I used to both eat for about that price. For $12 it had better been the most amazing meal I had ever eaten (it obviously was far from it). I will never come back here again as long as those rip-off prices are in place. Id rather go to Chipotle.
Very pleasant restaurant section, nice waiter, extensive menu. Excellent fajitas. I find the burritos bland, but generous and filling. Beans somewhat undercooked. I miss good chili, red or green, to smother a burrito, but its not an option. Still for Philadelphia, this isnt bad. Im from out West, so Im a little spoiled when it comes to Mexican food!
Great environment. My most recent burrito and mango salsa were great, and the portions are a good size for the price. Nice selection of beverages you dont find everywhere. Service was so-so on my last visit I went on a Sunday for lunch, and although the place was mostly empty when I arrived, the place filled up while I was there and there was only one waiter. Definitely recommend, though, overall.
Soooo we ordered tacos and enchiladas de mole , and carrot cakeSo tacos were amazing ...💯Carrot cake was amazing 💯Enchiladas de mole , the actual enchilada tasted really good but the mole sauce was watery , not thick at it supposed to be , im originally from Mexico and i know authentic.Green salsa was amazing too!💯Great service , nice location and overall it was nice except for the watery mole lolCominga back? Yes definitely i would love to try different options and get more tacos lol💜
Definitely ignore that review by Dan Merano or however you spell his name. Anyone that wants to support Chipotle over a small business is a dumpster fire of a human being. Mi Puebla didnt raise their prices for the years I lived in the area and I was honestly glad when they did. They deserve it and theyve been in business long enough. Restaurants have very thin margins and id ask people to really think about the break down involved with prepared foods. With that said Im now ordering a burrito because I think they are amazing hereI always order from here and the food is amazing. The service is quick and the staff is very friendly, I recommend the pork burrito or the bisteak a la Mexicana
Ever since moving up here from Texas, Ive been on nothing short of a spiritual quest. It sounds simple enough - finding a decent taco - but when your standards are as high as mine, you experience one disappointment after another. I didnt know how the food would be here, but i decided to give it a try anyway. The result was nothing short if euphoric. To say the food is amazing doesnt begin to capture the sheer, enrapturing experience of taking a bite of one if these tacos. Instantly, I felt myself transported to a land of both culinary bliss *and* cultural diversity, even better than a visit back to my home state. Each experience since the first has only improved. My quest is now over.Try the baked goods for an added treat. Go on, you deserve it. Because, also, your continued patronage will ensure I never need to search for the perfect taco again.
Been here dozens of times and the food is always good. The dessert selection on the kitchen/take-out side looks amazing too, but who has room for dessert after esting their giant burrito? Pro tip: get one to go, your only regret will be having not gotten two.Reasonably priced. Good service.Try the chorizo!
The best burritos ever!! Chipotle what?! Qdoba who?! This restaurant is family owned and the gentleman at the counter is always polite and professional. I’ve eaten here many times. My favorite local spot for chicken burritos. The mango salsa and guacamole are so yummy and fresh. Come try them!
Terrible service . Arrived @ 12:00 and we finally were served at 12:55. We were first in and last served! One waiter for 10 tables. Can you say “A chicken with it’s head cut off”? All he was doing was taking orders. It took 20 minutes to get coffee, and that is due to my going to the counter and getting it myself.Never going back. They are completely unorganized and non responsive. The waiter blames the kitchen and the kitchen blames the waiter. Good food but who would want to experience this food challenge?
Ive eaten a lot of American Mexican food, cook it often at home, and have visited (non resort) Mexico. I was really excited to try this place, because it had such good reviews and is near my neighborhood. I went with a friend, and we were both pretty disappointed. I ordered the chimichanga. It was missing some of the ingredients listed on the menu and wasnt deep fried. It was just chicken and onion that was folded and maybe baked? with some melted cheese on top, guac and sour cream. The shell had dried out on the ends into tough little hockey pucks that couldnt be eaten. We didnt have any service problems, and the prices are decent, but I dont go out to eat for the food to be OKAY. Still looking for a Mexican place as good as La Cocina in Kutztown.
One of my favorite places to eat authentic Mexican food, crab meat burrito is one of my favorites. It also BYOB so it easy to take some friends and visit the liquor store across the street or beer distributor up the street to find some good adult beverages with your meal. The bakery also has nice desserts to help finish your meal with a nice touch!
Very basic and bland Mexican food. The pork tamale was unseasoned and a clump of white bland cornmeal with a thin slice of tomato, a thin slice of poblano, and a chunk of pork. Thats it. I didnt eat it. The waitress had the nerve to tell me tamales were supposed to be bland and dry. She did not take it off the check. I wont eat there again. Philadelphia has way too many excellent Mexican restaurants for me to waste my money on unseasoned amateur food.
Mi Puebla serves authentic Mexican food. When I eat there I get the feeling that I just made a quick trip to Mexico. You can BYOB which you can get just across the street. You can also order for pick up, but I prefer to eat there and enjoy the atmosphere of the Mexican fondita (hostel).Their menu is very extensive with a variety of beef, chicken, pork, seafood and vegetarian dishes. They also serve nachos, salads, chorizo (Mexican style sausage) and Mexican side dishes (guacamole, mango salsa, quesillo, etc.).I have to stop writing the review because I got hungry!
This is a first-rate local restaurant. The food is excellent and very fresh. The menu is innovative but not avant-garde. Most of all, the people who work there are friendly, pleasant, and flexible. Mi Puebla does not disappoint, and I say this as someone who is pretty picky. I highly recommend them.
We have been going here for many years. The service has always been excellent and handles the unique needs children at restaurants (parents you know what I am talking about). Their menu is more authentic then most (it is not tex-med or cali-mex). Generally everything is very fresh and prepared to order. The decor is a bit lacking, possibly over the top with symbolism from middle meso-Mexican area.
Place is VERY clean. But its nothing CLOSE to mexican food. A torta of milanesa (which its supposed to be a breaded chicken breast sandwich, is a tyson patty on a sandwich. The beans in the burrito were undercooked, I would eat there again but it was definitely not AUTHENTIC.

2021-11-18Delicious burrito and tacos. The tortillas for both dishes were fresh, cheese was delicious. Rice and beans are vegetarian friendly (not cooked in chicken broth or lard-per info provided by the cook). Chips and salsa starter were fresh and appreciated. They were able to alter the order to our preference perfectly. Tables were clean, toilet had disinfectant spray. Friendly staff. Points to improve: season beans vegetarian slight differently, add homemade hotter sauce.

2020-02-09BEST 👏 BREAKFAST 👏 BURRITOS 👏 IN 👏 PHILLYSeriously, I don’t know how more people don’t know about Mi Puebla. I intentionally head out of my way just to eat these. Get the Mexicana but they’re all great.
