Always there when needed, excellent service especially for emergency situations.Love the feeling of knowing I will get an immediate response when something is wrong with my dog. Dr and Mrs Gad, along with their staff, are like the way veterinarians used to be! They don’t make you feel like a number or a paycheck! Thank you Old Forge Animal Hospital!
Yesterday I had to put my dog to sleep. Mrs Gad was so kind and helpful. Dr Gad was also so patient with me. He waited until I was ready and then let me cry as much as I needed. I am forever grateful.
Brought in my five month puppy Bandit and they took care of him so well. He got so sick he wasn’t eating and I called them and took him in asap during this pandemic back in January. I’m so grateful for that because they saved my puppy and now he’s 8 months and healthy as can be
Awesome folks who are busy giving some great care to fur babies. They are really good with the animal’s veterinary care and full grooming. Not too good at itemizing the bill though. ;)

Today I had to put my 15 yr old dog to sleep. Dr Gad his son and wife were so very kind and compassionate towards my Coco and myself during the procedure which was very upsetting for me.It was like losing a family member..They stayed with me and her throughout and after and allowed me to stay with her in room until I was well enough to leave with her..Cant thank them enough for all the kind words they said to her and to me.They are certainly angels in disguise
Dr. and Mrs. Gad are very kind and often have been able to provide same-day appointments for quick emergencies, as well as very helpful answers and advice and medication for my pets.
The staff was very kind and courteous with me and my crazy work schedule. I was able get my kitten spayded, vaccinated, and checked out all in one visit, as well as borded for the night for $300. My only complaint, and its a small one, was my kitten wasnt given any pain pills, and the night I took her home she was in a lot of pain. Thats all, I would recommend this place.
It was very difficult finding a vet to take care of my baby Noah due to the pandemic, and OFAH was extremely helpful and took him in without hesitation. The staff was super friendly and absolutely great with Noah and myself! Would 100% recommend this place!

Dr Gad and his family are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The office is so clean & welcoming. We have had amazing experiences with both our dog and cat. I would recommend everyone to go see Dr gad!
My beautiful dog Cujo was suffering.She went from a very active dog who walked the woodsy trail with me to barely moving. She limped, wasnt very mobile, stayed in one spot most of the time. She had trouble getting up and laying down. If she went to the groomer she would need anti-inflammatories for at least a week after that visit because of the pain in her legs.Old Forge Animal Hospital was the ONLY VETERINARIANS OFFICE IN THE AREA WHO HAD THE COMPASSION TO END MY FURBABYS SUFFERING!!Mrs.Gad was very understanding. She answered all my questions and was very patient with me.They did not try to have me bring in my dog, and keep doing unnecessary tests, pumping her with medication that she refused to take anyway and take advantage of us financially as other veterinarians have done. She was 12 years old and in alot of pain and I thank them for their compassion helping my pretty puppy cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge.
I was shown a picture of my cat in surgery before I had the chance to say I didnt want to and it broke my heart. I also feel she was sent home way too soon and I wasnt given proper instructions on how to care for her post surgery. They just felt cold to me. Just doing their job to get it done and move on. I absolutely love my pet like family, it was very hard for me and I wouldnt recommend if you feel the same way about your pet. But, in the end I guess the surgery worked and she healed ok. It was just heart wrenching.
Thank you! These guys stepped up and saw me pup ASAP when others wouldn’t. Diagnosed, treated and pretty much saved her life. I’m grateful! Thank you a million times over!
Very unprofessional and rude. We took our dog there and they said she had a virus gave her a antibiotic and a shot. Also charged $55.00 for a bag of dog food. Very unprofessional and extremely expensive. The wife is very pushy on buying from them. You never receive a itemized bill and I do believe I was overcharged by the wife. I called to double check what they diagnosed our dog with and then I informed them our dog passed away and the wife immediately got rude and hung up on me. I tried calling back and got the answering machine and I left a message. No response. I have been there when the wife is screaming and on her cellphone and always talking about everyone’s pet. Very disappointed in this place. Maybe the vet himself should pay more attention to his office staff and read all the comments. Very unprofessional.
As always, Dr. & Mrs. Gad & Staff (son Amir) were helpful, patient with my grumpy dog & provided outstanding & caring service to him!!!
Im disappointed that I caved in and went to this place because it was the most convenient for scheduling and location. I have to agree with several of the reviews here. It is very expensive and you will not receive an itemized receipt as you normally would receive from a vet. Your receipt will have one line with the total amount. The vets wife is extraordinarily unprofessional--shouting down the hall to staff, having a loud, private conversation on her cellphone, and making rude comments about my pets records. The vet himself was equally unprofessional; he never introduced himself to me or even looked at me to start, and made claims about my pets health that made no sense. Overall, it was a very strange and uncomfortable experience. The only positive thing I can think of is that they didnt try to push an insurance plan or care plan as some chains will do. If you live in the area and are looking for a vet, most people Ive spoken to recommend Memorial or the VCA.

The red head at the desk with glasses was so very rude!!! So unprofessional. She laughed at my puppies injury. So very disturbing. Rude. Cocky. No compassion at all. She should not be allowed to work in this kind of setting. Don’t go here if you love your animal and want the best care

The doctor and the staff were excellent they did a good job put on my dog
I did a google search for a local animal hospital since i was new in the area. i found a local veterinarian which I trusted my pet to be treated and cared for in a professional matter. my 1 year old cat was being treated for a jammed hip bone and the doctor over dosed him with to much cortisone that ended up few hours later putting my baby in congestive heart failure and ended in death. i tried to contact this vet on his emergency after hour phone line and he wouldnt answer so i had to rush my gasping kitten to another facility where after many X-rays and test showed his heart was going into failure due to the over dose from the original veterinarian. I recently after contacting the Veterinarian Board and many other agencies discovered he has a reputation and history of wrongful treating animals and many ended in injury and death. He waited 24 hours later to return our phone call. He is unprofessional and his history states his negligence. my healthy 1 year old cat would have only been sore with his hip and in time would have healed but due to wrongfully being overly medicated my cat suffered a painful scary death. those who understand will and others who dont understand will never but pets are family and part of my family died that day due to negligence. please dont just google like I did do real research before leaving a local veterinarian treat or serve a death sentence to your pet-part of your family. please and thank you
If I could leave negative stars, I wouldnt hesitate to do so. My cat had been vomiting for two days and we brought him in for an exam. I wasn’t aware that their full exam consisted of taking his temperature and nothing further. When his condition did not improve, we brought him in again two days later and we wound up spending almost $700 before bringing him to another vet for a second opinion. When he was properly examined by the second doctor, he found the problem right away and learned he needed emergency surgery that day. When I went back to the first office to get copies of his records, I was met with rude comments and treated like a child for not bringing him back to them for a third visit. If you care about the well-being of your animal I highly suggest you go to a different vet.
I have never met a more caring family. They went above and beyond for my dog Boots. I can’t recommend them enough. You won’t get this care or service anywhere else. Thank you so much.

We knew we were losing our dear pet, our four year old guinea pig named Scruffles. We rushed to the the office, where wed never even been seen, and they were both swift and compassionate. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!
Dr. and Mrs. Gad, Amir and Alyssa and the rest of their family and staff took care of our poor little girl Ginny. Despite their bravest attempts, using their own family dogs as donors, they were unable to help her move forward. She was only 10 weeks and they truly did all they could for her. They are the most compassionate group of family members and workers I have ever had the pleasure of being surrounded by. My wife April and I are forever in debt to them for their attempts to save her. You are all a true blessing and the animal world in Luzerne and Lackawanna County have all been placed in the greatest and kindest of hands. Thank you all so very much from the bottom of our hearts.
Two years ago my beloved 12 year old Boxer suffered a seizure. Dr. Gad was compassionate and helpful as usual. Nikki never recovered and had to be put to rest. Dr. and Mrs. Gad were kind and compassionate again. Today I was asked to take the 16 year old Cocker Spaniel of a neighbor on her last ride. Poor fellow is on a fixed income and has acquired enormous medical bills. The Gads have been caring for this dog for all its 16 years, and they were kind enough to reduce their rates (already below their competition), and handle the matter in typical humane and compassionate fashion. This is a true family practice, with father, mother and children involved. You and your beloved pet(s) deserve this kind of service.

I highly recamend this vet,I have a yorkie, but we are truck drivers, found this clinic on the web when our yorkie showed sighns of a urineary track infection. They got us in right away! The Dr. And staff are VERY careing! If you love your pets as much as we do, you cant go wrong here.
I have to give it 3 stars would have been 5 until judgment was passed because I choice to but a pinch couler on my dog witch I took him for training on how to use it and one of there employed cleaning up decided to pass judgement on my decision. It is not there business to pass judgement on how to train my dog. They are there to help my dog because I take care of him not to judge me and my choices.

I had adopted a sick kitten that was being treated by Dr. Paws, I called to have him seen as a follow-up appointment, they refused to see him because I was his new guardian. The poor kitten was severely dehydrated and constipated, Dr. Paws told the Foster mother he would die if he wasnt treated... When they refused to see the poor little guy I called Old Forge Animal Hospital; they took him immediately and started him on an antibiotic and showed me just how to care for him at home. I will never take Ferdinad anywhere else.
This is the worst place to take your pet to. The owners wife is very rude and unprofessional, she does not care about your pets at all, she should not be able to practice veterinarian.
Awesome!! Mrs Gad fit me in same day. I had an emergency with my cat and my vet on vacation again. Now Ive switched back here!

This place is a joke . First of all “Doctor” wears SNAKESKIN boots . They lied about what my cat had and tried to charge me for things I didn’t need , and I know this because we went to a COMPETENT vet immediately after . Cannot emphasize enough how bad this is . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR RISK YOUR PETS LIFE .
Animal killers. Many people i know dr gad said the animal needed to be put don. I recommended Abington vet clinic and the animals lived for years. Dr noto is also great too. Dr gad- stay away!😭🐶🐩😽

Just got off the phone with them right now. Terrible customer service, all i asked was if they had an opening today for me to bring them a sick kitten. Never got an answer on if they can be seen or not, basically just got harrassed and had to hang up on them. Disgusted.

Told me one price after not even letting me know that they were going to give any sort of medication to our dog. Requested for paper work to be sent to another facility. Very rude and ignore calls.If you love your pet please don’t take them here.

2022-04-15Talk about caring. I hope that this place gets closed down the way that these people don’t give a care in the world about your pet is insane. The doctor and receptionist talk over you so rudely. Don’t recommend this place. And maybe they should let the guardian of the pet know what kind of “work” that will be needed for the pet instead of just doing whatever they want and then charging a crazy amount. Worst animal hospital ever.

2021-03-10Mrs Gad was always direct and to the point but kind and helpful. Dr Gad always took our concerns into consideration. Amer always took great care of Conway when he needed blood work. I will forever be grateful for the care given to my dog during the last 2 years of his life when he became diabetic and needed extra care. They were always kind and accomodating and priced fairly. They came to our home within hours of our call when Conway was ready to cross the rainbow bridge and were so comforting and kind. If I ever get another pet I will never go anywhere else.

2022-04-15I went on Wednesday with our dog because he was having some problems.They told us he had something wrong and when we went back in the room they gave him 2 shots without telling us about it.Also they gave us medicine and never told us about the price at all.The price was near 500 we had to take him somewhere else because they told us nothing.We asked them if they could send all the info to the other place we were taking him and they never sent it.The hospital called them and they only answered one time out of the 10 times they called them.My dog has died because of this.I hope this place gets shut down immediately.The price is ridiculously high, very unprofessional , they talk over you, none of their medicine works.
