Patel Brothers in other cities:
07/20/2022 @ 6pm : Very poor service and overpriced. I bought Karachi Bun Kabab and , the bread was very hard and tasted sour so was the kabab awful with all instructions followed. Called up the store and spoke with Jigar-Store Manager who asked me to email the invoice to process the refund and since then theres been no response at all. Called twice and was put on long hold, it shows their intent and poor customer service standards leave aside the quality standards.07/20/2022 @ 6.17pm : Power of review...got my refund.
Patel brothers has truly upgraded once they moved to the larger store across the parking lot. The produce is fresh and there is much more variety than other South Asian grocery stores in the area. Also, since moving from across the lot they now have fresh snacks for sale which includes samosas, vada pav, lassi, etc which is a great shopping treat! The pricing for the produce is great compared to other local grocers. A wonderful grocery store for the Indian community in Bensalem!
They have the largest variety of indian grocery..more than anything Ive ever seen in any other indian store. Everything is sparkly clean. Best part is the fresh foods section where apart from freshly made hot roti, paratha and thepla, they also have snacks like samosa, kachori, veg puffs and cutlet. I tried a few and all of them are delicious
This location is good but the management is looting the community. Expensive and unreasonable price. We all aware that inflation is high but at this location the customers are facing double inflation. Someone need to complain to township or consumers protection department.
Patel Brothers was such an awesome shopping experience. The store was easy to find and navigating the aisles was fun. I asked a customer about a vegetable I was unfamiliar with and he stopped his shopping to help me. He explained what it was, and even selected the best ones and bagged them for me... everyone was very friendly and helpful. The produce department had very good prices and a large selection of vegetables, fruits and fresh herbs to choose from. I loved the exotic fruit selections they carried. You can easily find all kinds of juices, cereals, instant ramen, all styles of noodles, a huge rice selection, dried beans, nuts, and grains, all types of flours. They have a large selection of frozen foods like paratha, naan, and many traditional dishes ready to warm up and eat. They also have a nice selection of freshly made desserts like gulab jamun. Their snack selections are massive and fun to choose from all the sweet and savory selections. I especially liked the spicy chip type products. Their spice section is huge and packed with every spice and dried herb you could think of. A good selection of personal care products. Henna for hair and hands. The store was clean and well organized. Bathroom was clean. I would definitely shop there again.
An impressive Indian store that has almost everything that we would need. After moving to the new store, they have increased the number of items and is easy for shoppers to shop by moving around. With a in-store fresh bakery now, you get so many fresh Indian chats and freshly made Rotis.
Place is huge, clean and easily accessible. Parking is accessible as well. One concern (because of which 4 star and not five) there is only one male toilet and does not look like it was cleaned from last disaster which looks like happended a while ago. Took my 4 year old in to pee and did not feel comfortable letting her use it. No other issues
Almost every product is over priced. I always do grocery shopping at Apna Bazar next to patel brothers, and one day I just want to check out this shop. And I found almost all the thing I shop regularly from Apna Bazar is over priced in this shop. Some of them are even a $1 difference. So if you are concerened about price dont shop from here, you will find cheaper priced grocery at APNA BAZAR, just 2 blocks away from this shop.
Fantastic Indian Grocery Store. This area used to be called Little India now it has a new nickname Himalayans for the recent immigration from that area. Spices GALORE, Flour GALORE, Dried Fruits & Nuts GALORE, Vegetable GALORE. Frozen items too. Great place to purchase cooking tools - like cutting boards, rolling pins - affordable & fantastic!
Recently move to this place (previous one was in same complex). There is no other Indian grocery store this big other than the Pater brothers around this place..all Indian grocery are available..no fresh Meat or fish products there but I have seen frozen meat and fish products..we have tried their food counter and they have some pretty good Indian vegetarian snacks with pastries..new patel counters are spacious compared to old one and weekends are busy compared to weekdays.no self check outs which wouldnt be bad if they could set one up.
Now they have bigger and better place with fresh and more choices of fruit and vegetables inventory. They have New fresh fast food serving area in back, which is my favorite. They do not have shopping cart parking spot in parking area, which could hit cars in parking spot. While I witness one car was hit by cart, while I was there.
This grocery chain is a great place to shop for Indian groceries. The new location allows more shoppers without aisles being blocked off. The fresh bakery has a nice variety of vegetarian samosas, puff pastries, rotis, cakes, and more. Some items are priced cheaper at other grocery stores around the area, but the section and quality of products are more trustworthy. I knocked off a star because there was an employee walking around coughing with no masks on when I last visited. The employees sometimes pile up fruits and vegetables too high. I have seen things roll all over the floor and they just pick it up and add it back to the pile. Shoppers also step on produce that has fallen on the floor. I wish they did a better job with the way they stock produce. Some employees work like robots; they dont greet customers and are sometimes not able to help answer customer questions.
Wow! Store expanded and more organized than last time I came here! This is the nicest largest Indian markey around. Great prices for flours, spices, ghee, Indian supplies. Great herbs and healing items. Gave stars back because everything that was not good aboit the old store is fixed and better than ever! Lots of AMAZING organic items and frozen food. Lots of gluten free things to eat if you like spices and staying healthy. And try some of the healing and health and beauty herbal products. Theu are inexpensive enough to try and some were impressive for me in benefit.
It is a busy store (granted it was Saturday evening). It was my first time at the store and I was in a hurry. I needed help to find everything in the aisles. The staff (multiple members) did an amazing job of guiding me through the store and ensuring I got in and out of the store in no time.
Patel brothers has been our source of groceries and condiments for over 10 years. We appreciate their quality and well priced strategy and recommend them as the one stop hub for all your Indian grocery outlet. With the expansion the food court has become a new obsession for us. Top quality and tasty food IST a very simple orice
They have moved this store to few blocked in the same parking lot towards right side in the middle with a bigger space and stated a mini take and go restaurant for a puff , pastries , Roti , naan, gota, etc . This store has a lot of variety with plenty of parking space .
Good Indian grocery store, especially for fresh vegetables and reasonably priced. Also has a wide variety of spices, frozen foods, ready mixes, ready to eats and other groceries from all over India. We travel almost 15 miles every once in a while to shop here, worth it. Some of the employees, especially the people sticking the shelves can be a bit grumpy, but ultimately helpful.
You get everything you need here so thats great! However, the staff can be better trained and importantly they must check expired labels frequently. The onus is on the owner to not sell expired food items that can be a serious health hazard. I feel FDA should inspect these shops more often for general safety.
If you are looking for Indian groceries in Bensalem then this is your go to place. Wide selection of items and fresh produce. The snacks and sweets section is so extensive that it will be hard not to find a popular indian snack !! Courteous and helpful staff and quick billing.
Judging by the large number of expat Indians shopping here, I must conclude that this is a the go-to place in the area for Indian groceries. Their spices and dal are the draw for me but their fresh produce is abundant also. Stay away from the sweets, they are too good.
EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional staff. Some staff just stare you down, not sure what their problem is. The produce is not always fresh. And dont buy any leaves from here. They dont have the minimum courtesy to clean the leaves before stacking them on the shelves. If you bring them home, its like bringing the entire beach home. There will be sand everywhere. If you dont spend a LOT of time cleaning the leaves MULTIPLE times, be prepared to eat sand. Unbelievable how much sand is in the leaves.
This store has always been great to me. They have everything I need most of the time so I am not running around few different stores to get everything. Though indian items are priced fairly; American items are but more expensive. Other than that this is a great place to shop.
Cashier ladies are very very rude , will checking out the things I purchased, I didn’t even crossed checkout counter and that rude girl is like you need to keep basket down with other baskets and I am like what just give me 2 minutes while I was keeping credit card and receipt in my bag dat girl doesn’t have patience and she was not having a little smile on her face. Some people take their personal problems at workplace and get ending with their rude behaviour with customers.
Stale items. I think most of the items are expired ,and re labeled with new expiry date. Their self brand products are bad and have insects. I bought a Kg of Aashirwad Aata. Wheat flour which had dead insects. The packet had small holes on it which I noticed only when I reached home.
In times of a pandemic, the prices are slightly higher, I know there is a problem with the supply, but dont ever take pita bread, it is smelly and spoilt and not good in taste either. I dont know whether they eat the same or no. Just dont purchase pita bread. It is a rip off when they dont take it back.
Think twice before you go to this place. Last week I went there and bought some grocerries and cooked some food with one of their product. After sometime, I sufferred with severe stomach pain and joined the hospital. I went through the treatment asked the doctor what caused my stomach pain? He simply said the food was poisoned, After I got discharged I checked the product which I have consumed, and totally surpriced by seeing its expiration date. It was expired couple of months ago. Please be careful before buying anything from here.
They have excellent produce, really well above any grocery stores in the area and the prices are much better than Giant or whole foods. Their selection of rice is mind numbing, but ive tried at least a dozen different brands/types and theyre wonderful, so much better (and easier to cook!) than traditional american instant rice. I now substitute basmati rice in all resipies and it really livens dishes up.Of course they also have a large selection of traditional indian foods, which are great fun to experiment with but take this warning, when an indian food package says its spicy, its REALLY SPICY!Ovetall, i love shopping at Patel Brothers!
When it comes to packed or frozen food 50% of the stuff that I buy from either has a week to expire or expiredThese guys cant cant be trusted for selling fresh food.if we get fresh food from this place you are lucky & that must be your first & last last time you getting fresh stuff.I wish these guys wake up before someone sues them for selling expired stuffThey are taking a big risk in peoples lifeI have caught them and told them to replace stuff close to 20 different timesHate this place But, I dont have a choice :(also heard that apna bazaar is doing good But it is way too crowded during the weekend
Patel Brothers chain of Stores in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA does provide quite good of things needed by Indian Community either working or settled in US.We being again in US for short trip, wanted to know the nearby store but found to be away from 40 minutes drive away from the place we are putup, some what not an attractive proposition. For some things a must visit place is Patels and we may venture out sometime to the outlet...Hopefully like other places of US, PA store may have the same stock.
They show one rate on the shelves and charge you more inb check our.Experienced it multiple times. And please be aware that they do sell expired foods especially which is in the refrigator.Tried to talk to the person in charge. He dint apologize or try to solve the issue rather he was rude and had a nasty attitude.

2021-06-10New store looks amazing very clean and has a delightful new deli section of samosas. Lots of fresh veggies and chow chow snacks. Plus staples like eggs and milk. Woman was so helpful and bagged my samosas separately each and labeled them. I am trying everything! Wow.

2022-06-19Its an awesome store to pick up all the requirements of an Indian kitchen. No item of Indian essential items is missing here. You name the item/product you get it. Store is amply spaced with adequate staffing. Ready made chapathis, snacks, hot samosas, cutlets were also available. I was really impressed with the quality and services at this store. The store closes at 8 pm.

2022-02-03They’ve got everything you need for Indian cooking. The new Fresh Bakery section is an added bonus.I removed one star because the space between the aisles are so congested, and the staff always restock the shelves during customer shopping hours, which makes manuvering through the aisles between ladders and other customers with shopping carts a pain.

2021-06-07Updated went from 3 to 5 star. After the recent upgrade, my prime store for Indian goods holds a deeper place in my heart. The store is just so wonderful now, very well organized and spacious, it is not smelly like it used to be and everything seems to be new and fresh even the groceries. More variety of brands than before. My personal favorite is the addition of the bakery, which exhibits fresh made pastries of the Indian subcontinent.Old:You will get most items you expect from an Indian store and in more variety. They give out sweets on special days. I would however appreciate it if they update old fruits and vegetables that get left behind there. You can get many Indian exclusive brands, candy, and ice cream here as well.

2022-04-11Neat store, very clean and things keep moving. We have been buying for over 20 years from this store. Only issue I have is buying coconuts. Most of the time they are bad and the store doesnt give any refund. Recently we bought many of them for a Pooja and 75% of them were bad. This is usually the case with any Indian store. However local groceries like Wise Mkts or others give you a refund if the fruit is bad.

2022-06-30Very nice store but they sell expired Indian chips. Don’t forget to check the expiry dates before you buy them. They cover the expiry date on most of the Indian chips. Also I bought a 40lb chef’s secret basmati rice and it is stale. It turn yellow when I cook it and no taste at all. Very bad experience.
