BEWARE that cheap pet care could harm your pet. We had our cat in for shots and a flea treatment (an oil on the back of her neck) which interacted with her pearl necklace collar and bonded it to her fur and skin like krazy glue. I was able to remove 3 that were affixed to her skin after 2 days of soaking with olive oil. I emailed the low cost clinic about the issue and they made a suggestion that I Had already tried. Overall the staff were mehh with a few friendly techs and a few snobby ones. Somewhat disorderly and a cramped hallway leads to confusion and customers rubbing elbows with pets in hand.
Paws vet visit was smooth and an easy process during COVID-19.The only downside is not with Paws but the dog owners. Paws should require dogs to wear a muzzle. It is not right that a well-behaved cat with a harness and lease has to be subjected to a crate because a dog owner can’t control their dog.Dog owners need to learn keep the dog close to them while they are on the leash or crate them. All dogs out in public places should be leashed and muzzled. Not everyone wants to be greeted by your dog or have them run around on a leash because the owner can’t control them.
If you think your gonna call and go right over..think again. You have to leave a message and if they think its deserving they will call back days later to then make an appointment...(they did recommend a place that takes walk- ins but that kinda defeats the purpose because I dont have the capitol to afford it.) I tryed what Google suggested at home w much undue stress on the kitty that needed the help. She is still bothered by what ever it is in her ears.
Paws crossed is a great adoption center and they are a no-kill shelter which is great for the animals and great for the people and the community so if youre looking for a great pet go to Paws crossed for a great pet and if you can donate please donate food cat litter whatever you can is a great help so thank you very much
They have very affordable prices for spay/neuter and vaccinations. I had my 7 month old female kitten spayed and she recovered very quickly. I also had my two male cats neutered here about a year ago. The vaccinations are included in the $60 fee. They also can microchip and other vaccinations are optional at additional fees. I have always been impressed with their service. I highly recommend this low cost clinic for your pet care needs if you are financially struggling. The only downside is how long it takes to get an appointment, which can be a whole month in my case. But the low cost is worth the wait. It is the difference between taking care of my cats and not being able to, so I am very grateful.
The price was cheap and they were thorough but u get what pay for. I made an appointment a month before, I got there on time and I was expecting to wait like 20 min as usual. I HAD TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR TO BE SEEN. People that just got a number were seen BEFORE me. My recommendation is to just show up and take a number because this place is horrible keeping appointment on time. No to mention they didnt had enough parking for us so we had to park like a block away.
When I was taking care of my sisters dog, this is where she would take him. I kept up with the visits, and it made taking care of him all the easier. Friendly staff, knowledgeable, and courteous. The center is clean, and pretty fast with visits. They even perform surgeries, and if for some reason they arent able to, there, they will refer you to another location. If money is a major factor, they work with you for making payments. If you have a pet, or are looking for one, Id suggest you visit.
The staff wasnt too friendly especially the fat white chick at the desk you can tell she was irritated by my questions they only have 2 dogs which are both sick I asked when they would have any more dogs the chick snarled at me why are you selling a sick dog which will probably die very soon this location I dont recommend
We had two cats spayed today at NE Paws, they were awesome! It was an easy process, they followed up with us by confirming the appointment and being prompt. We would highly recommend Paws. They provide professional quality care at a fraction of the price of independent vets.
I made the appointment for my two dogs online which was difficult to do over the phone, despite the fact, I started trying to make an appointment from last year, I left several messages but no one returned the call. Why did they want the appointment to made ONLINE?. When filling out the application, it is specified about a deposit of $ 15 for each dog, after everything has been confirmed and paid, a POPUP window appears to confirm and appointment in Grant Ave. I did not read the other part because I think, that did not was necessary. But If I had read everything I would have realized that was not a deposit, there is a TECHNICIAN FEE!!!!!!. When I went to the appointment and paying, another value appeared and I asked them what happened with the $ 30 deposit and the answer was that; I had requested a TECHNICIAN FEE !!!!!! in any moment. In PAWS Northeast we find very polite customer services that with great patience explain everything to you, like Mrs. Luci and others who are rude who have no patience, working with animals should be different. My point is why should we pay that extra money? Even if the appointment is made in person, the Technician Fee must be paid because they dont have in this moment WALK IN!!!!!. Is that just how the economy is? I have taken my dogs for 8 years to that place and I have decided not to return. If they ask me if I want to make a donation, it is different because I would decide how much I should give. I feel very upset by this situation. I had to pay for the vaccinations for my two dogs $ 60 and ended up paying $ 90
Fast service with appointment. Had 3 pets all alone. 1 2yr old nervous cat. 1 12yr old pit. 1 2yr old viscous pit. The staff was very calm and helpful seeing I was clearly stressed. They took care of my babies all alone. I was very nervous as my 12yr old is blind and deaf and the 2 yr old is not nice at all but they handled everything down to the payment efficiency and quickly. Im very pleased
We adopted a cat from this shelter about a year and a half ago. We were under the impression that the cat was affectionate, and friendly. We learned that this was not true. While giving him the appropriate amount of food for his age, weight, etc, and giving him affection as much as possible... if we did not give him MORE food, he would attack us. A few mornings after he ate all of his breakfast, and he howled at me to give him more and I did not because he had enough food, he lunged himself at my son with his claws out and dug his claws into him. A few times I was giving this cat affection and he seemed to be enjoying it, he stopped suddenly and dug his claws into my shoulder and bit my face. During one of his after eating dinner begging for more food, he came for what I thought was affection, but he quickly decided to try to dig his fangs into my forehead because I wasnt getting up to get him food. He has gained a lot of weight and is really over weight now because he keeps stealing food. All he does is sit by his food bowl and howl at us. If we try to give him affection he is mean and violent because we do not give him food outside of his meal times. He is literally the worst cat I have ever had in my entire life.
I recently lost my job and need affordable shots and exams for all three of my dogs. I haven’t booked the exam yet but I did go to the shot clinic 2 Saturdays in a row. What an amazing team they have! Yesterday my dog was the 22nd dog/cat they saw in just under 2 hours but they gave her the utmost care and attention. I am so pleased with the service and am in awe with the patience of the entire staff...both reception and the vet techs. They were all wonderful. Both of my dogs received their shots and I donated an extra $25 per dog to the organization and still came in less than half the cost at my standard vet. They have been a Godsend during this time of financial hardship. I’ll definitely continue to support this great organization with donations when I am working again!
Ive only taken my dog here once so far. But the wait wasnt too long and the veterinarian treated my pet with kindness and I will definitely be coming back. You also cannot beat the prices. I remember this Clinic being comparatively a lot cheaper than the other places that I looked at. And for someone on a budget this was definitely a huge benefit
Setting the appt was easy I called left a message and someone called me back before end of the day. Drop off was quick and easy and so was pick up. I thought my baby would be irritable but she was and went back to eating and drinking regularly. Not everyones experience is the same but mine was excellent and if I getvanother pet inbthe future I will be returning
They are very compassionate and caring. The services they provide are also very reasonable...no theyre cheap. No one offers the variety of shots that they do for such a low price. You do have to come in on certain days of the week for some specific services, but you would have to check the website or call for more information. The staff is very helpful when youre needs exceed what they provide. The last time I was there, our pug had a tumor and they have a list of veterinarians that they referred us a couple of that they felt were best to suit our specific needs. We chose one they recommended and we were very happy with them too. Even though it was a rough time, they made it easier.
Its always been a great experience when I go to each location. The only thing as a pet owner im saddened by is you cannot even go back to console your pet during this time. I always like a more personal experience when talking to people so it was annoying to have to talk over the phone to the vet. The line they say to form outside causes more congestion, i feel. At least 3 people can comfortably fit in the waiting area to lessen the congestion in the hall.
Very professional staff and experience. In an unfortunate turn of events, our dog was mistakenly turned over to paws. Though the error was not theirs, Paws worked with me to correct the matter and did so in a courteous and timely fashion. I felt the location was clean and safe when I arrived to pick up my pup and was happy the crew at Paws were the ones in care of our family dog. A huge thank you to your team for all of your professionalism and care!
They always take care of my fur babies, I trust them with their health, surgeries and vaccination needs. They are kind people, give off good vibes and they are quick to respond if youre looking to book an appointment for precious furball. Ive been to the spca 😔, here @ paws youre in and out Thanks paws.
THIS RESCUE HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR ADOPTIONS ABOUT A YEAR NOW. Although this rescue is shown as being open; it is now closed.I had sent PAWS an email to find out about giving them a donation of food, toys & such for cats & kittens about a month ago. I got a very nice response; only I was told that the northeast location has been closed for about a year now due to COVID-19. They are occasionally having SOME CURBSIDE CLINICS, but remain CLOSED FOR INDOOR adoptions or other services. They do have another site in south Philadelphia which is still open. *** In response to PAWS reply; I LOOK FORWARD TO WHEN THEY REOPEN FOR ADOPTIONS because I do wish to adopt a cat. Our older cat passed away a few months ago & our younger cat has been looking & calling for her companion almost constantly😢; she’s never been an only cat before. The Northeast site is near where I live & PAWS has been there to serve the Northeast Philadelphia community for a long time.
Hello I have been taking my 2 baby chihuahuas here for their shots, since April of 2020. When it was time to get the last set of shots and get them spayed I called and left a detailed message as instructed in August(no call back) September(No call back) and October(still no call back). CAN ANYONE FROM PAWS CALL ME PLEASE. I DO NOT WANT THEM TO HAVE PUPPIES THEY ARE BROTHER AND SISTER. PLEASE PLEASE HELP
Had my two kittens fixed here. The wait to get them taken back was minimal and the procedure was done quickly. My babies were treated well and came home the same day, no worse for wear. They healed well and seemed to have not been the least traumatized by the experience. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Also not nearly as expensive as so many vets are today.
I love this Paws. The reception desk girls are very helpful and caring. The vet techs are wonderful also. You can see its more than just a job with the employees, they care very much. Id rather go here than to another Vet hospital. Prices are affordable and reasonable. Only con I can think of is Saturdays are crazy busy. Expect to wait for hrs. Better to make an appointment on a weekday.
They are caring and very patient when you call and ask questions for have to reschedule they dont make you feel like you are bothering them no matter how busy they are. My cat healed very quickly after being spayed. I didnt see any signs of pain after the medication wore off. She was very active like nothing ever happened. The stitches were done perfectly compared to other stitches Ive seen. They rescue animals so I bought a travel thermos to do what I could to help them be able to rescues animals that need a home and help them make it possible for people to be able to spay or neuter their pet that arent able to afford it if they went elsewhere.
Its not that I dislike the place but that me and my son came all the way from from Oak Lane to find a cat and our new family member. was very disappointed to get there and find out that they werent open even though online at this facility and the one by 2nd and Arch it said they were open. Weve been looking forward to getting a cat for at least the last month Im very disappointed we couldnt get it. In these days and times everybodys looking for companionship and something to love.
Absolutely incredible. The only words that can describe everyone that works here. Made an appointment, because my cat had an ear infection. I thought it was ear mites, originally, but they quickly eased my worries. I believe, from sitting down in the waiting room to paying the bill, might have taken a half hour (if that). My cat, Salem, absolutely does not enjoy the cat carrier, and he will let everyone know. I did not feel the least bit unwelcome as he went on and on. I did, however, take him out and held him to ease his discomfort (not sure if that was allowed without his leash, but I was in the corner). Would definitely recommend. Will update with employees name(s) when I find the paper.
I volunteer here and this place is just wonderful. The staff is so loving and caring and every volunteer seem like they genuinely want to help the animals. The animals are so well taken care of and PAWS prides itself on being 100% NO kill shelters. I believe in their mission 100% and recommend everyone to adopt from PAWS!
I liked the prices but Ive used it 2xs for the vet care and once to neuter I was told to find another vet because my dog was having bowel problems they wanted to give me an appointment for a month later sent me to emancipate they said paws should see my dog I was treated very badly and told in so many words dont come back
As I walked in the door, I was greeted by some very happy employees and I liked the fact of how easy it is to make appointments for my pets and how much information as possible theyd want to know to be sure to keep your furbaby in good hands. The only thing I couldnt bear is the smell, but that comes along with being in a animal clinic its not much of a big deal.
What a wonderful place! My kids brought home not one but two of the cutest female kittens ever! But we had quite a dilemma concerning the cost of spaying them! PAWS was absolutely the best solution. The people were great, and the office is clean organized and very efficient. I would recommend PAWS to anyone
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Person on the phone was rude, she tried to charge me extra fees to make an appointment , And extra vaccines my dog has already had. After THEYRE OFFICE CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT. NOT ME. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said she was the highest manager and told me “good luck finding a better price” - THEN SHE ABRUPTLY ENDED THE CALL.
I do not recommend this place to anyone... especially new clients. Extremely unprofessional and one of the staffs there was very rude and disrespectful. I was told to keep my phone on so that they could contact me. I ended up calling the clinic MULTIPLE times and it just went straight to voicemail. One of the ladies there were kind and respectful enough to apologize for not being “detailed enough” explaining the policy. However, the female receptionist had to chime in and basically tell her that she shouldn’t apologize because apparently they were “very clear” about everything with the most disgusting attitude. Not to mention, she gave me and my friends that came with me to pick up my cat the most judgmental and mean look. I was charged $25 for the late pickup fee, which I don’t mind and is understandabke considering the fact that I was late, but this would not have been an issue if the employees were more clear. Please hire PROFESSIONAL people who doesn’t look like they hate their job and give their customers nasty attitudes.
Do not take your pets here for the clinic. They are the most unprofessional place I’ve ever encountered. Not only did my sister take her cat in for neutering and they KILLED HIM. THey also laughed at her , asked where they should put the money back to refund her about two minutes after she found out her cat died, and had the nastiest attitudes as if we killed their cat. Natalie the director is a complete joke and I have no idea how she has such an important job. She should be working at McDonald’s and that she probably couldn’t do. Caitilyn the receptionist is just nasty and cold hearted. Who puts these people in charge of animals I’ll never know. Do yourself a favor and steer clear they are disgusting human beings taking care of innocent animals.
This place is AMAZING. the staff are so great. There is so many great animals here, they keep them well fed, happy and take such good care of them! I wish I could take them all home. Thank you PAWS fo4 being amazing, if give you guys 100 stars if I could. The place is so clean also, adopt dont shop . And I highly suggest adopting from here or ACCT , I personally adopted f4om PAWS because its a no kill shelter and I made as much room as I could so they could save more animals
We adopted a cat and two months later we had to put euthanize her due to liver failure. When I contacted PAWS about her being ill, they told me they couldnt see her until a week later. I had to go to my vet the next day and she was so sick that he said that was the only option. When I reached out to PAWS about getting a refund on the adoption fee because my daughter was devastated and we didnt want another animal right now, they told me that that wasnt their policy and I had signed a contract. This is the second time that this happened to us because about 5 years ago we adopted a kitten that ended up having feline HIV and died months later and apparently they knew the mother and the whole litter had it and said she would be fine. I would go with another rescue that will tell you the truth because I feel that they are just trying to get rid of these animals and dont care if they are sick or could die in your care.
We made an apt for our puppy to get her second set of shots it was for 9:30 my husband was alittle late so they told him hes burnt for his money and our pup is not getting her shots, instead we have to make another apt and pay again. 1. covid is going around so to burn someone and neglect a puppy her shots is straight up cruel not to mention robbery! when u make the apt u should be well aware that if your at all late your burnt and gotta pay again💯💯💯💯 just cause your a low cost clinic doesnt mean you have to be Scavengers& if being late is a policy of yours then you need to address it at the time of appointment BEFORE you take clients money!
Neighborhood cats needing care need to be brought here! After calling around and bring quoted arm and leg prices, the lovely folks here gave us affordable prices and speedy professional care. Not only did we pay less than we expected, we were compelled to leave a donation for their quality care. Well be coming here again!
I cannot recommend this place enough! I found my best buddy here a little over a year ago and the adoption process was super quick and easy thanks to the wonderful service of the staff at this location. I have had nothing but good experiences at PAWS and the Northeast Adoption Center is one of the best locations.
I took both of my cats tear Lilo & stitch and they were very good with them when I went to go get some spaded they even help them out and I will very comforting for me to leave my cats there. They are not about money but more about there animals. I live the way they treat the animals.
Love this location! I had my pup neutered here in July 2017 and the price is very reasonable. My other vet wanted $700! Staff is very helpful and my dogs procedure was over in only 4 hours and I picked him up the same day. They even let me come back 2 weeks later at no additional cost when the last bits of stitches werent dissolving. Microchipping and other vaccinations were included as well. Please bring your animals here if they need to be spayed/neutered! They are one of the lowest prices Ive found with the best care.
The staff are very friendly! Very efficient in making sure not just anyone can adopt a pet. Too much animal cruelty out there. Its pretty cool that u can become a foster family for a pet if u cant adopt or if u want to see if ur kids are ready for one. I just signed up to volunteer when I was there the other night to start the process of adopting the new additions to our family. Even though my daughters only 9, u have to be 18 to volunteer, they said that she would be able to accompany me to help with the animals. Great selection of dogs and cats. They have a animal hospital there as well. The prices I saw for neutering or spaying was pretty cheap. Highly recommend coming here.
I cannot say enough about this place. They are a huge help for us! We often take in stray cats then need to get a spay or neuter surgery performed which can be costly. The cost here is very low and the quality of service is very high. Are these not the two characteristics that make a business great?
This review is specifically for the clinic, not the adoption center. Is it low cost veterinary care? Yes. After todays visit I would say that there ended the positives of our experience. I had questions about vaccines that my dog would need and was cut off with quick/short answers. Strike one - taking the time to listen would be nice. Once taken back - no hello to us or review of what we were there for (I filled out a form, but it would have been nice). I again try to ask a question and am cut off in a similar manner. I am then asked to hold my dog as they give the vaccines. Problems: 1. My dog is on the floor, not the exam table. My dog is small/medium. 2. I dont know exactly how you want me to hold him or where you will be working. Im still wondering why Im holding him instead of the other tech. 3. Vaccines are administered without cleaning the area first! 4. My dog moved a little and was quickly/abruptly told to stop moving. We are then about to be rushed out and I ask about other services I marked on the paper. That review conversation isnt just a nicety, its productive, or would have been. Another vaccine was needed - again given on the floor with me holding him. I could go one, but overall my displeasure with our visit comes from rudeness, attitude, cleanliness issues, and just not feeling like they were interested in the care of my dog. Perhaps there are wonderful techs there who are totally dedicated to each patient, but today that was not our experience. I understand there is a heavier patient load when offering walk in vaccines, but taking the time to do things well and making it a pleasant visit for everyone should be top priority, at least in this dog owners opinion.
Low cost spading and neutering.I actually have a question. I have 5 cats, 2 male and 3 female. I had 2 males and 2 females fixed here, and those 4 dont seem at all like they were fixed. They are climbing all over each other and trying to mate. My males seem like theyre spraying and also one female actually is spraying. Did they actually fix my animals or what? The female who was spayed by the spay club is fine, doesnt spray, scream like shes in heat like the other 4, and my other 2 females are so nasty and mean now its to the point Im ready to take them to PAWS to be placed for adoption, I think PAWS can deal with their nastiness. Its been 2yrs and even though they said give them time, well PAWS I think 2yrs is enough time. It breaks my heart because Ive had them for about 4 yrs but I wont keep cats that attack me and my pup 🐕 everyday. Any suggestion ? Please Im desperate, I really dont want to get rid of them but one trip to the hospital is one trip to many for me especially when its due to my cat 🐱
This place is great! The adoption center is so clean and professional and the animals seem so happy and well kept that I felt bad adopting one for a second. The clinic is a little sketchy and dirty, but with the volume of pets they care for you kinda have to let that one go, plus the doctor was wonderful.
I Love PAWS!! We were rescued by two of the most ADORABLE 12 week old Kittens back in January. I called PAWS probably once a week for two months to make sure we were doing what we needed to do for these amazing little baby creatures. They spoke with us like we were friends and answered all of our questions (probably two or three times) until we felt comfortable enough not to call them. They are very knowledgeable and patient with the animals as well as the customers they help. It was a great experience working with them.
This clinic is the most unprofessional clinic I have ever been to. The staff literally talked about the poor condition my pet was in to other customers as if I was mistreating my pet, not knowing that I was sitting right there listening to them. They need to reevaluate their staff and teach them professionalism. Whatever conditions a pet is having is supposed to be private. I really wish I could give them 0 stars. The only one who comforted my animals condition was the actual veterinarian. I feel bad that she has such poor staff by her side.
I took my daughters cat to get neuter and shots. My daughter dropped him off by 830am. I picked him up by 4pm. When the staff brought the cat out, he smelled really bad. The cat apparently urinated in the carrying case and no one cleaned it up.. it was a horrible ammonia smell. It took two days to take the smell out of my car. I had to throw away the carrying case because the smell wouldnt come off.. the cat was completely drenched in urine and was shaking uncontrollably due to the cold weather. When my neighbor told me that that was wrong for the staff at PAWS to give me my cat in that condition, I became really angry. My daughter as well. WE WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!
The worst service ever! I was late for 10 min because I couldnt put my cat in a box quick as usually and worker said that I have to reschedule my appointment! I took off day from my job, so I am glad that I changed the clinic in the same day! I found great clinic for the same price!!!
So sad I am at a loss for words. I adopted a beautiful cat a month ago. The cat had mites and gingivitis. They were giving him fluids for dehydration. I planned a dental appointment. They gave me ear drops for an ear infection for one week. I returned for the follow up. The cat was sneezing from the beginning and had a little cold. They called while I waited out in the car. The cat had an ulcer on his tongue. The vet said it probably had calici which I never heard of before. They gave me 2 antibiotics to give for 2 more weeks. On Sunday the cat was very sick and not drinking any water. I emailed Paws Clinic and called another vet. I took him to The Animal ER and they said the cat was extremely ill, not likely to survive with treatment and was much sicker and probably older than known before I adopted it. Calicivirus is an awful virus that cannot be cured with antibiotics and highly contagious. I found out by google :(I do think that the staff in the adoption area are very nice and kind. But..The vet is irresponsible. After reading about calicivirus, the vet should have made sure this cat was isolated in the rescue and went to a home with no other cats and explained what this virus was. I am so sad about this. I hope all of the cats at the rescue are not going to get this.
I was told one price via email got there was charged another. Ended up getting HALF a refund because my cat was too small for surgery but given the free shots that were included with surgery price & told to come back in 2 weeks. Came back & was charged another 70$ cat was neutered & given the same shots I paid for the first time.
Vanessa Latino girl who works at the front desk is so disrespectful and rude. She is a hindrance to homeless animals being placed in a loving safe home. She needs training on how to talk to people who love animals. Vanessa s rudeness has made me feel I should never adopt. I will just volunteer now. I can only imagine how many loving owners she has chased away
This is for the clinic on Grant Ave. The workers here are very rude. Maybe you should get the miserable look off your faces when you have patience walking through the front door. A hello or some type of greeting wouldve been nice, instead the lady at the front desk couldnt even look at me while she was talking. If you are going to be even a minute or two late dont even bother leaving your house, they wont take you and will make you reschedule. If youre being rude to me I can only imagine how you would treat my cat and I love her way to much to have someone ever treat her mean.
We adopted Merlin from the 2nd Street location. He was a 2 year old cat who was lovable, but did not like to be petted too much. They were very nice down there. We took him in 1 month later to the Grant Avenue location for a check up. The veterinarian knew how to handle Merlin & his grouchy attitude. However, before the vet saw him, the medical assistants had no clue how to handle his attitude. They held him down, held his 4 legs together, pinched the back of his neck SO hard, & wrapped his face with a towel. Meanwhile, me and my mom had to watch this drastic situation. I started screaming stop stop STOP! Do you not realize you are hurting him?! Here he was crying cat style and you could see the ANGER & FEAR in his eyes. I was so angry with that lady & I will NEVER go back to that location for any more treatments.
**REVIEW FOR THE CLINIC NOT THE ADOPTION CENTER**We live about 45 minutes away and have been having a hard time finding a vet that seems to care about our dog (and doesn’t just rush and push us out the door each visit) I heard good things about PAWS and decided to switch. What a mistake.. Had an appointment 2 weeks ago and they sent a text the day of and cancelled the appointment because the vet “called out” so I was forced to reschedule and try and fit it in today.. We were literally 10 minutes late and they refused to see us. I was met with rudeness when I walked in. Again, we’ve never been there + we live 45 mins away + THEY cancelled on US two weeks ago when I had carefully planned and made that appointment so there was no chance we’d be late!!! Just another vet ofc/clinic that doesn’t care about you or your pet. Don’t waste your time like we did, BIG TIME!! Wasted time, money and stress for both us and our senior dog. (but please adopt/donate to their adoption center!!!)
Place was cool. Until we adopted our kitten. She was very sick with an URI. We came in July 4th. Their door was open and there were people in the building. I walked in by myself first to check if they were open since it was a holiday. There were workers and the lights were on. I told them my cat was sick and that I would be right back just had to get her from the car. As I walked out the workers incoherently started yelling at me. I was really confused. I parked in their parking lot. When I got back literally not even a minute later the door was locked. Like......??????????? I just told you my kitten was sick and you guys lock the door on me?? When I literally had gotten my kitten there a few days back. Some extremely unprofessional worker, was yelling to me from across the glass that they are closed???? Ummmm. 1. The lights were on. 2. The door was open. 3. There were 3 workers in the building at the time.. So if your closed be closed! It was very unprofessional to lock the door on a customers face and then yell from the other side of the glass. I wish it ended there.. She finally opened the door and me and my girlfriend handed her our documents. She closed the door as I handed her the papers and locked us out again. Mind you I came in completely respectful. She then proceeded to accuse me of being “aggressive” which doesn’t make sense at all. I was with my gf and our new kitten and everyone was confused what the worker had meant by that. Terrible communication. Slam the door on a customers face.
The people of paws are the best. You can tell they really love their jobs they are kind and responsive. And you should see them with the animals. I bet every single one of them would adopt all of them if they could. And then the animals while still looking for a home you can tell they are happy and well cared for.Theyre looking for an animal be prepared to provide multiple pieces of information about yourself and how you live because they dont want the animals to go to a bad environment. Also if you go please consider going through your closets first and getting old towels, sheets and bedding to donate to them. They always need things like that and go through them very quickly.I have to admit the hardest thing about going there is leaving empty-handed
This pet animal control the price is very reasonable and you can get your cat or dog there shots for just $25 bcz you cant get that price nowhere. Anywhere else you would pay more, so if you have any pets that needs there shots take your pets there. Its up in the northeast
A TRULY SPECIAL PLACE!I FOUND A 1WKOLD KITTEN A DAY AFTER A NIGHT OF TERRIBLE RAIN SHAKING AND CRYING AROUND PAWS AND TOOK IT INSIDE AND THEY RECEIVED THE KITTEN WITH WARMTH AND LOVE THE MINUTE THEY SAW HIM AND TOOK HIM OUT OF MY WIFES ARMS AND WE DIDNT EVEN GET A CHANCE TO SAY GOODBYE BECAUSE THEY CLOSED THE DOOR AWW I ASSUMED!LOL! A1 PLACE!👍🏼
This is a review for the adoption center. They will make you go through the application process for a particular pet even though they already approved someone elses application for the same animal. I received a phone call from the adoption center that my application has been approved and the guy on the phone told me that I can come over any time to adopt the cat, if its available. He also told me that I need to bring the carry box with me, otherwise, I will not be able to adopt. I told the guy on the phone that i need just 20 minutes to get the carry box from the Petco. When I arrived to the adoption center with my kid, the staff informed me that the cat is currently being adopted by someone else. This was a big psychological trauma to my kid and I. Why did they tell me to come to adopt the kitten if they already were going through the adoption with other customer?
This is a NO-KILL SHELTER. Very very important to me. On Fridays & Saturdays there is a no appointment needed policy all day. Or almost all day. I think 10am. Till 4pm. They are located----- Grant Ave. & Bustleton AveParking free & on site. BUT-- if lot full/ go across street (Grant Ave)--- parking free, walk across with your pets. Sometimes long wait/ sometimes not. BUT its all good. Staff wonderfull, knowledgeable, skilled. Always feel safe there with my pets.
In my opinion the place is a nightmare. You cant get an appointment for anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks so if you got a sick animal forget about going there. The adoption center is as big a nightmare the employees in their completely ignore you. To adopt an animal you have to fill out an application which is normal but it takes them up to 5 days to review your application and if someone has already put in an application for the same animal you want they will probably get the animal first and theyll never let you know that the animal has already been adopted. They just leave you hanging has already been adopted
Got my feral baby here, and been very happy with her. She occasionally eats a piece of living room furniture, but otherwuse shes,a grwat owt. PAWS is a great place to adopt pets, very thoriugh vetting of animaks, and prospective families wanting to adopt. Fees, are nominal, pets are thoroughly cleaned and vaccinated, prepared to take home without any worries. If/when i decide to adopt again ill go nowhere else but PAWS. I recommend them to anyone in the area.
I went there with my mom to adopt a cat and everything seemed great she filled out an application to adopt and then we left she calls to find out whats going on with the adoption process and they tell her that they wont be looking at it for a week when they told us originally two days because they were as they said backed up.... I go to the low cost clinic with my dog 20 minutes after she called and everyone in the adoption center is sitting around doing nothing but their supposedly backed up and so busy
I used to volunteer here and literally like seeing all these cats was the only thing looked forward to back then; wonderful people here, animals well taken care of and happy even though theyre living way more comfortably than me but Im not mad have you seen the play areas, Im jealous
I loved my visit but my cat was prescribed medicine for a hot spot and she is on day 6 of taking it and shes now sneezing nonstop seeming like she’s getting sick and I called and asked if it’s normal or what I should do and get told they can’t answer that and I can’t bring her in until two weeks from the day I called... insane.
I was shocked with that adoption agency. They told CBS 3 that they were overwhelmed and the only free dogs were pittbulls.A worker there told me that all other dogs are sent to research facilities and other rescues.Totally false advertising!!!Very filthy conditions...

2022-07-14Wonderful Place with even BETTER PRICES! My dog got 2 shots, her nails clipped, and her flea & tick dose…I also walked out with a 4 pack of flea and tick topical and I spent 80$ all together!!!! SPCA in my area was charging 160$ for shots ONLY!! I was there for less than 10 minutes! Super efficient! Super AFFORDABLE! I recommend paws to everyone!! My sister just got her cat spayed/neutered today, and some miscellaneous shots and paid 80$ as well!DONATE! DONATE! DONATE!!!!!With prices so accommodating, small donations help them stay afloat! Your already saving a ton, don’t be cheap & DONATE!10/10 recommend! Will definitely return!

2022-05-30I came from about 40 minutes away . They have so many appointments available unlike in Jersey. They were fast and efficient! Highly recommend!! The customer service, the ability to take in so many animals so fast and contact the owners even quicker. My cat had a surgery done and I had my graduation to go to the same day, so they moved her up in the surgeries that day so she can be done before everyone else. It was very helpful. Highly recommend. Everyone else wanted about $900 or they werent accepting people for weeks . Or you needed blood work done first which was a seperate fee. Not here !! They get you in fast, do the surgery, and thats it ! Highly recommend, I havent found any faults. My cat is running around as if she didnt have a surgery done. Shes healing very well and eating normally. They respond to all calls and emails in a timely manner as well if you have any extra questions. !

2022-06-25Excellent location! Its a calm and quiet office run by friendly staff and vets that offer many basic services, particularly very low cost spay/neuter surgery for TNR cats. PAWS is a life saver for people helping out stray cat populations and pet owners in general. Its definitely worth a visit because I was able to get an appointment much, much sooner here than at the Grays Ferry office. And, Ive always had a very good experience at PAWS NE!

2022-04-30Incredibly run no kill animal shelter working to make Philadelphia a no kill shelter city. Compassionate, hard working and one of best run organizations Ive seen. Their vet care is excellent to esp for the lower costs. Great place to support with needed donations, to adopt from and to use!!

2022-06-20Really love them. They very reasonable. Only thing I dont like is having to leave a vm to schedule an appt and its a long wait to get appt or seen. Staff is great and they genuinely love animals.. its just hard to get a sick appt scheduled.

The place was also very clean!I would highly recommend to get your dog neutered here. They really care about your pet and the owners.

2022-06-24Is this the Grant Avenue location? Considering that I have never been there, it would be hard to give a review. I have heard good things about PAWS.
