Excellent! So glad I came here after my Spinal Cord injury. Their doctors, PTs and OTs are wonderful and extremely knowledgeable about spinal cord injuries. The entire team did a great job of preparing me for things I would need to know to be independent after my injury. Highly recommend.
Outpatient physical therapy was actually pleasant and very personal. The staff greet you by name with a friendly smile and provide you with excellent customer service when scheduling and paying for services. My therapist worked with you to understand exactly what was bothering me. My care plan was designed specifically from me and showed improvement in just a few weeks. Upon improvement I was reevaluated to adjust my care plan for continued improvement. Things were explained thoroughly for my understanding. They also provide me with plan a link to my care plan where I was able to download the app to my phone and tablet. It has my goals and exercises w/ video demonstration. Overall this is a great place to go for physical therapy. I am so glad my doctor’s office referred me to them. Scott Cook is a top notch therapist and I can tell that he is genuinely concerned with my progress. I could say many more positive things about Scott and the agency. Thank you for the great care.
I recently spent about 6 weeks as an inpatient here. When I arrived I could barely move at all. I left walking with a walker! From the therapists, nurses, aides, and doctors, I can’t thank them enough. Everyone was super friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly encouraging. I was hoping I’d have been set up for outpatient therapy to continue my improvement.
From the beginning I have been impressed with Penn State Health Rehabilitation. All the staff has been professional, helpful and friendly. I am seeing Dawn Irwin-Groleau for speech therapy after cancer treatment. I do feel she is helping quite a bit and is trying to treat me as a whole person. She has given me so many ways to help myself. She is very professional, and has never made me feel as if Im just another patient on an assembly line. Would definitely recommend this facility and provider.
Most part it was good. Un t il a Cna came in my room and asking me am I dieing. Then lied and said he was a Dr. Him and this girl didnt want to help me. He told if I dont go to the bathroom by myself I wasnt going home. I couldnt get out of the bedI worse part is he lied to them and didnt get fired. The girl was just as bad. Everyone else was great and caring. I almost died of covid and did not deserve to be treated like that..
In 2014 I was hit by a car on my motorcycle and had numerous left side injuries. After my initial inpatient stay and over a course of several months of outpatient therapy at the Rehab Hospital I slowly began to regain the normal use of my arm and leg. I eventually had no physical limitations and could do all of the activities I had enjoyed before the accident. I couldnt have done it without them.Recently I went back to the Rehab hospital outpatient clinic for an unrelated issue. I received the same high quality care and effective therapy that I had experienced years ago.The staff are very good at what they do and are fully dedicated to helping their patients heal, They do that while creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that promotes a positive environment. If youre reading this review because you are in need of physical therapy I hope you heal quickly. I highly recommend the Rehab Hospital to help you get better. Be well.
My first encounter here was a 10-day in-patient stay following surgery for a broken ankle, where I received excellent care. Im currently seeing Stacy Mierzwicki, a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in the Outpatient Center. I developed lymphedema following cancer treatment and fortunately, was referred to Stacy for assistance with this condition. She is knowledgeable, attentive, compassionate, and has a genuine desire to help manage a condition that is challenging at best!
These therapists are what makes this place spectacular. Erin Taschner is patient, kind, and professional in managing my occupational therapy needs. My results continue to improve and Im sad to say that because Erin is so good at what she does Im not going to be able to continue my therapy for too much longer :-).
Wonderful quality care and attention to detail. Personalized environment that is warm, accepting, and encouraging.I travel 30 minutes and am back for my second round of therapy because I know I can trust my PT to make me feel comfortable while giving me the best support through my spinal cord tumor recovery.
From the very first moment I contacted Penn State Health Rehabilitation Outpatient Hospital I was impressed! Michelle (Patient Services Specialist) was so cheerful, helpful and accommodating and was a pleasure to talk with when I first called in to schedule and appointment. Michelle was able to schedule me an appointment and provide me with much needed answers about my insurance coverage. Today was my first appointment and I knew that this place was top notch and professional from my the instant I walked into the center. Michelle and all the therapists knew all the names of their patients and greeted them happily. I was so impressed by this since this does not happen much in the health care system anymore. The center was clean and very organized with up- to -date equipment along with a bright cheerful and environment . I had an appointment with Stacy Mierzwicki , MOTR/, CLT and was immediately impressed by her caring and sincere demeanor. She listened to me carefully and heard what I was saying. She and then did a thorough evaluation that was spot as she identified my concerns and issues. She explain my condition is easy to understand terms and laid out a plan for recovery and improvement. Even though this practice is out-of -network for me, I still have decided to go with Hershey Outpatient Rehab Center because of the warmth, expertise and confidence displayed by both Stacy and Michelle. I am looking forward to continuing my care and rehab with this program and have confidence that I will be on the road to recovery soon after a long battle with breast cancer.
This is an amazing physical therapy clinic!! I adore almost all of the staff, if I don’t its only because they haven’t made an effort to get to know me personally! My usual physical therapist is Danielle and she is AMAZING at what she does! She is so kind and is always motivating you to push harder to reach your goals! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has any physical therapy needs!!
I live over two hours away. I came to be evaluated by Deb McCowan, PT for my complicated gait problem. She came well-recommended and I was very impressed with her knowledge and professional skill. The whole experience went incredibly well. Lindsey, at the front desk, walked me through the pre-eval process by e-mail and phone conversation. When I arrived, I was happy to find the COVID protocols were being carefully followed. My first session went very well and I have great hope for improvement.
The entire staff is wonderful! Everyone went above and beyond to make my rehabilitation a very positive experience. My therapists, Scott, Marisa and Jim were very professional, caring and capable. I have recommended your facility to everyone and I will continue to do so. Thanks to them I’m on the road to recovery!
I wish I can give this Rehabilitation hospital more stars. My mother had a stroke 11 months ago. Her stroke caused her to have left side paralysis (Hemiparesis). My mother came here for inpatient care for about 3 weeks. The therapists (Kristy & Megan) were fantastic. My parents live an hour away and my mother at the time could not do the drive 3 days a week for outpatient therapy in Hershey. We went to a local rehabilitation center for 5 months. My mom hated to go to therapy. They did the same thing with her the 2 days she was going and never really talked to her much. I knew then it was time for a change.I reached out to the outpatient therapy at Penn State Rehabilitation since my mom was now able to make the long drive to see if they would accept her. They immediately took her. The staff at the front desk (Michelle & Lindsey) are so great to work with when it comes to scheduling my moms appointments...always welcoming, accomodating, and happy. The therapists are so incredibly wonderful. They really love what they do and care so much about their patients. Danielle, Marissa, Jim, Lindsey, Erin (I know I may be forgetting some names, I do apologize), I can not thank you enough for how upliftling, encouraging, and what you have done for my mother physically the last 2 months she has been coming here. You know exactly what she needs to move forward. You pay attention to every detail. It actually brings tears to my fathers and my eyes to see how much you have done for my mother. Her spirits are so uplifted because of you and she is so happy with her progress. There just isn’t enough words to express our gratitude.I would recommend this 100 times if you have a loved one who needs therapy in any way. My parents make the 1 hour trip 3 days a week and wouldnt change a thing.~The Biermans
What a great place for therapies, My daughter has a long road ahead of her and they are so welcoming, and greet her when she comes there, That makes her day. When we were on a break for a few weeks and the first day back, everyone came and said Hi to her and hugged her, just made her day awesome, and she was glad to be back in therapies, to help her get stronger, each and everyday. What a GREAT team they have there, and Dont forget the ladies out front who do an awesome job with all the scheduling and phone calls
My elderly mother was recently a patient here. While I believe this is a topnotch facility for rehabilitation the nursing department seems to lack in many areas . Communication was poor between nursing and family and difficult to reach a nurse to get direct answers. I did receive a call daily from a very nice person named Tonya to give me an update on my mother, she was very personable and kind.Unfortunately she was not able to give me any type of medical update as this was beyond her scope of practice. The information given was very generic and any further questions she emailed to the team.My elderly mother was alert and at times felt disrespected by the nursing staff.Without going into to much personal detail on this site, she was sent to the hospital with medical complications that were not properly diagnosed at this facility. It was reported by hospital staff that her skin was in poor condition with unacceptable breakdown. My mom was also septic when she arrived at ER with a skin wound draining purulent drainage. This is unacceptable and sub standard care.At this time of Covid restrictions families are unable to check on their loved ones. This facility is under the name Pennstate, but it is a Select facility which does not have the best care reputation. This is unacceptable and I hope other families do not find their loved ones in this same situation.
So far, so great! Therapists take the time to work with the patients for the exact issues needing improvement. They actually take the time to listen to you. Better experience than with the previous rehab facility we started with. Later hours for appointment will work out great.
This place is the BEST. After 5 years with chronic back pain I finally found the right place. They gave me hope from day 1 and Im finally starting to feel normal again. My quality of life has improved drastically. Thank You for my life back Danielle and my family thanks you too.
My brother has been in the pediatric unit for 75 days now and everyone he and our family has come in contact with has been amazing. He is leaving this facility tomorrow and we will miss everyone there immensely! My brother has a lot of problems and is needs a lot of care and they provided that. Everyone from the awesome cleaning staff, the day and night nurses, the doctors, consulting doctors, Ronald McDonald house; all amazing. They provided support for my brother in every way, support for the family and advise also because when tragedy hits you have to suddenly become very knowledgeable in different medical fields! Over all, we owe the staff here way more then this 5 star rating and I hope and pray my brother will enough one day to come back and thank everyone here!
A couple nurses were very good but overall they never picked up my chart. They didnt know my back was broken or that I had road rash all over my arms. They then would grab my arm without looking to take blood pressure. The worst let down however was my doctor. She would add and take away medicine without notifying me. I was in extreme pain due to a motorcycle accident that occurred two days before I arrived at there facility. She was degrading when I mentioned that the nurses had advised me on different medications to help with the continuous pain because I wasnt taking an extended release pain med. The meds they gave me worked for about two hours but then Id be rolling in pain for another two hours until I could get meds. She was rude and would talk over you. I pulled a muscle or something that caused a lot of pain in the physical training room as they had me jumping on one foot with a broken ankle back and wrist to try and get around less than a few days since I broke my back.... it cause a lot of soreness and pain. The doc never looked me over for when I felt a massive amount of pain in the abdomen/ groin... I dontKnow if it was a muscle or what was wrong because she never looked and I still have pain. She wasnt thorough at all and even had to ask for a change of doctors. They declined with out notifying me because they said I was good to go home and they didnt want to have to do the paper work..... very very disappointed. I would never return or recommend this facility. I always like hershey and grew up down the road from hershey. Im saddened to see hershey have any involvement with this company... good luck I really hope this helps
I am happy to give a Five-Star rating to the Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital. While I started a Lymphedema programelsewhere some four weeks ago, I am so happy I decided to make a change for the b-e-t-t-e-r by coming the extra miles to the Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital. If youre on the fence about cominghere, yiurself, dont be! Everyone is so friendly and very knowledgeableto boot! Stacy Mierzwicki, OT, (my therapist) is the B-E-S-T! I think theworld of her and you will, too.Regards,Bill SchwarzmannLymphedema Patient

2022-04-16I cant begin to say thank you enough to all the folks of the Penn State Day Program. The fantastic staff there has brought me such a long way, and allowed me to retain my dignity as well.Danielle is fantastic in the manner in which she works with me in P.T., and always manages to help me accomplish things that seem so insurmountable. I couldnt possibly wish for a better physical therapist.Erin seems to know just what I need in O.T., and is so knowledgeable and wonderful with encouragement.Danielle and Erin are such a blessing. The whole staff at Hershey Day Program has been a blessing. Danielle, Erin, Kelci, Joy, Deb, Kelsey, Kiersten, Marissa, Scott, Dawn, and all the rest of you, including the office staff. Even if you werent directly involved in working with me, you were always kind and encouraging, and helped me if needed. I wish that I could give you all a 5++. God bless you!

2022-05-14If you are a person of color, you may want to choose a different facility. When you come in, there is a wall of successful recovery stories - NONE of the successful recoveries were people of color -- Which should automatically give you a hint at what your experience will be like if you are a person of color. My dad was there for a stroke and the quality of care was so poor and calloused. They definitely cared about getting the Medicare insurance money - but caring about the actual patient was missing. I caught one of the therapists just sitting looking at my Dad instead of giving him the therapy. When he left, he was on a plan that was over medicated -- So much that after being home for one day, he passed out and had to go back to the hospital. He had to repeat the process BUT this time in a different facility (with more diverse staff, and patients) -- They were able to correct Penn States work and get my Dad on a better path. OVERALL, the 2 stars I gave were for the few people that really cared - they were good and rare -- but I could not go any higher because there were too many staff members that were obviously in the wrong field. LESSON - People of color - stay away from here. People using Medicare stay away from here .

2022-05-22Penn State Outpatient therapy is the best in the area, I have Scott Cook for PT, hes very knowledgeable on what I need to recover. Hes patient, and takes the time to listen to you. The facility is small so most of the time you have one on one service. I give them 5 out of 5 stars!

2022-03-24Kiersten has done an excellent job on my shoulder and arm. She is very knowledgeable and has explained clearly what has been causing my pain and the steps/exercises we are doing in my recovery. I would definitely request her for any PT need. The entire PT staff has been very helpful and sincerely interested in my recovery.

2022-03-12My mom was admitted after a short hospital stay. She went in completely dependent on her caregiver and 100% bedbound from a neurological disorder and she came out walking with a walker. The patience that the therapists have is incredible. They care so much about what they are doing and the people they serve. I have never met such friendly people in my life. The Nurses are wonderful and attentive. The CNAs work so incredibly hard to meet the needs of the patients. The doctors are wonderful. I truly dont have words for how much this facility has blessed our family. We couldnt be here today without them.

2022-08-08Penn state rehab is absolutely amazing, i unfortunately suffered a massive stroke during labor with my first child that paralyzed the left side of my body. After leaving the icu I immediately started therapy at Penn State ‘s inpatient and then outpatient, I’m now able to move my left side and independently take care of my newborn son that’s truly because of everyone at rehab that has helped me! I will be forever grateful for every worker and therapist!

2022-02-25Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital-Outpatient Therapy has been a tremendous help to my recovery from falling on ice. They have taught me there is no word as CANT. In one weeks time working with this team of Therapist I have made a speedy recovery and things can only get better! I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and can honestly say I have never seen real team work as I have seen this last week. Everyone of the Therapist have worked hard at showing me if I make the effort I can recover. The energy these professionals show is passed on to the clients like myself. The question that is always ask is Would you ever recommend PSHRH to others? My answer is YES I know of no other Rehab that has such dedicated professional Staff as what I have encountered here. Thank You for the time to share my experience with your company. Special Thanks to Danelle, Britney and Dawn I owe them more then I could ever repay

2022-03-27Very compassionate, attentive, and professional. The staff wanted to cover every medical possibility in trying to determine the source of my mother’s discomfort. Large, clean, bright rooms to help with her mood.
