Went there once with kid#1 and they were really on point. Went there again with kid#2 (2 weeks later) and they spent an hour debating on if they should do the things that they were doing for everyone else (had all documents 2x over). Dont go there for an ID. Only go for driving tests and expect it to take your entire day.
I always use the Lehigh Valley location as the Lehighton location is terrible. The employees were very professional and friendly today making the experience stress free. They were more than happy to answer my questions.

Not even worth one star. Over three hours waiting for a drivers license when the ticket estimated 66 minutes. Incredibly slow and if nothing else if someone comes up to your counter unprepared - turn them away! The rest of have our documents and payment ready to go. Im so disappointed and would never recommend coming here.
People are friendly and they will help you the only thing I didnt like was that they have a sign posting no gun but there is a arm guard inside
It was great the people there were great my appointment was for 11:00am and we did ours at 10:30 and the girl(blonde) was very sweet and nice and Im 16 this was my first drivers test, the most important thing about the test Is parallel but after u finish that its soo easy its just a couple blocks then u pass. So dont stress about it goes from her asking you for your papers, then the drivers pretest with the parts of the car, then parallel parking, then the driving part so good luck to everyone 😁😁🙏🙏😁😁
Worst spot to go and do anything involving you licence. Better off driving to Harrisburg. All the tellers are old so they will definitely be taking a long time. I arrived at 921 am, Im writing this review while waiting for my number to be called its 1135 am. I never wrote a review in my life but had to do it for these guys. Basically if you dont have nothing to do for five or six hours come on down and wait with us
It is very unprofessional when your establishment doesnt use the screens that are for the numbers but will yell at everyone in here to not make any noise or they will stop serving people. I cant believe thats how this place does business...Oh and to mention there is only two people working right now. Everyone walked back for a break at the same time. How is this even okay!?The photo lady was sweet and let me retake my photo.
I would rate lower, this place is not deserving of 1 star. When I was in Hatboro, I dealt with twice as many people sitting, but they were so effective; all I needed done was a renewal of my license. 10 minutes! Wow! This location is atrocious! I am already here for 30 minutes and still counting! Waiting for the same thing! Next time I will see how Easton works.This isnt the only issue, apparently whoever runs this place doesnt have the ability of adding the business hours so people dont decide to come in on a Monday when they are closed. You are welcome people for this review, dont come on Monday.
Just took my test and passed today! The instructor was very kind, helpful and made me feel comfortable taking the driving test!
Its a DMV in a city, so yeah, of course its an unpleasant experience. I will say this though, the older gentleman who works the desks helped me out a lot. He turned what could have been a 7 hour wait over the course of two days in to 3, so that was good.
Had to transfer 2 out of state licenses and the process (if prepared -- make sure you have everything you need) is very easy. Arrived prior to opening and once inside, transactions took about 20 minutes or less. The folks we dealt with, Vince, Barry and Karen made everything go smoothly!!

Honestly, most of the people who work at this DMV look miserable. The former security guard, an african american man, was extremely rude. He was allowing people to go inside by forming a line, and said next five people, I was the fifth person and he stopped me saying I said five people next only. He obviously doesnt know how to count. I suppose he is gone since I have not seen him.I will be looking for another DMV or going there on sunday when there is few people since waiting long hours there with those kinds of attitudes is not nice.
My step son had an appointment for his road test today. We waited 4 months for this appoinment. We were told that he could not take his road test because he was not listed on my insurance. They stated my insurance required for him to be listed on my policy. I contacted my insurance and they informed me that the information is not correct. I then went inside and tried to explain it to the DMV reprensitive, with my insurance representive on the phone; I was told by the representitive I told you no, so no is a no Civilians are trying their best to pregress. Why couldnt he be considitate inregards to the information shared by my insurance? Why are they giving customers such a hard time if they are providing documentation? Thank You Allentown-PennDot, for having us wait 5 more months for another appointment.

Its a pain; overcrowded, underserviced, underfunded, and some of the employees are rude and unpersonal when they should really be trying to make nervous test takers feel more confident and comfortable. Part of it is the states fault, but these dmvs are very poor in quality, I wouldnt go there if I had a choice, I want another better dmv in the area, this is bullshit!
Went to change my last name and waited about an hour for the woman to tell me she wasnt sure she could take my Scottish marriage license (um...I got married in Scotland, not like I can change that). It was 10:14am and she said well, Ill have to take it to the supervisor to discuss it, but I go on break at 10:30, so itll have to wait until after. Couldnt she go immediately and check?!! How awful to wait that long for nothing. Now I have to go back.
I took the eye test for my permit in order to take the test and was told to recite the fourth row of each of the three columns. I was shocked that I couldnt see the entire third row! I asked the lady what had happened and if anything was wrong but she had treated me like an idiot and berated me for asking her if anything was wrong as if I was an idiot. I asked her if anything like this ever happened or if it was a problem with my eyes but she had just shrugged me off and told me to leave without even trying to help while she talked to the associate next to her. The entire experience was deplorable and I hope never to come back again.
There is a guy very bad for road test. Actually, he failed me twice times even though I did not have error. I did the parking and other instructions perfect. He was sarcastic because I am not from America and failed me because my English as second language. He told me go learn English and come back to try again. All on all, he look like heat all the people or the DMV forced him to work here.
I just passed my driving test today very kind, nice and friendly Examiner and staff thanks to them. Examiner were very friendly and kind he didnt make me stressed he were very patient I think every every Examiners should take training from him thanks again.
I am only giving them a 1 star because I have no option to give them 0. They are so rude!!!! Front desk lady that gives ticket is rude. My brother went today to retake his permit license for his cdl and he gave them a money order before and they would not allow him to take the test just because he forgot at home a piece of paper when they can see who he is with his drivers license and social!!! Unbelievable. They stole his money order and he even had proof with a receipt that money order was his. I am reporting this to the district!!! My aunt is a lawyer
Modern human wasteland, there are 9 windows to assist customers only 5 were operating. There is not enough space for people to wait due to either INEFFICIENT processes or NOT CARING, if you can use any other DMV do so dont waste your time.
I had no problems come up getting a PA license moving from Indiana. I came about 12:30pm and was greeted by a very friendly man, waited about 7 minutes to be taken, and the other two people were nothing but nice. Ive experienced much worse at other places, so I cant complain about this one at all.
Dont expect to get quick service here, expect to wait about an hour or two. I havent encountered any rude employees so far so thats good. Its very crowded at times and there are limited seats so expect to stand and wait sometimes.
If you have the opportunity to go somewhere else for the test do it! I brought my friend there to take the test they said her name needs to he on my insurance. Never heard that before i told them she took the test the previous week and they never said that and let her take it and i called the guy over that gave the test. He lied said no he didnt and walked away. This place is a Joke.
I needed to go to this DMV to transfer my out-of-state drivers license to a PA drivers license. I arrived 20 minutes prior to the DMV opening with my form pre-filled out, my necessary documents to show my PA residency, and my checkbook. Honestly, it was a painless process. I was finished and out of there by 9:00am.
I showed up early and was able to complete all of my business very quickly as soon as the doors opened. Very competent staff.
I had just taken my first driving test here and this dmv is very specific about the parallel parking and the tester wasnt a mean guy, just seemed a little irritated when i asked him a question during the test but otherwise good. Even though i had failed the test.
I arrived at 9:09 and was told the wait time would be 30 minutes, I then waited until 11:56 before my number was called. I waited 2hrs 47 mins while many people who arrived an hour and a half after me came and left.
Absolutely appalling. First off, the place was extremely crowded and slow-moving. Im not sure if its just the area but, excluding the employees, I dont think I saw a single white person there. Second, the employees are not only old and miserable, but treat you like youre a complete ditz which WILL detract from your confidence before taking your road test, which brings me to the most important point that is the fact that all the instructors there are WALKING EGOS. That in and of itself should stop you from going there. They dont even bother introducing themselves, and nothings more nerve-racking than an intimidating, selfish instructor whos suppose to GUIDE and HELP you through the process. I wish I would have gotten the name of the cocky instructor I was unlucky enough to be paired with so I could write him personal feedback. Just disgusting. Theres a reason why this place has 2 stars, and thats never going to change.
I go in to change my name and address and leave with a freakin migraine. I stand in line for 30 minutes for the woman to tell me my marriage certificate is not my marriage certificate. WHAT!?!? Funny since just before then I left the Social Security building with the exact same marriage certificate and I got a new card from them no problem. The woman was insisting theres a piece of paper that belongs above my marriage certificate (even though the Social Security building said NOTHING about this Second piece of a marriage certificate). Idiots!!! Idiots that work there! I would of demanded to talk to someone else but probably would of caused a scene so I left, and now have been on hold with penn dot on the phone for 30 minutes. THANK YOU SO MUCH for delaying me being able to give my new job two forms of ID. You guys are a waste of a lot there!
Busy! Get there early & plan on spending ~2 hours. This is a full service DMV. Youll need two forms of ID in most cases so bring your birth certificate and drivers license. Good luck!
If you have a few hours to waste for a a couple mins of paper work be my guest. This place has no consideration for timeliness. Employees are not as rude as some of these other post may seem, but they work at an extremely slow uncaring pace. They need a new system to process high volume of people.
So rude. The male instructor with the white hair and beard looks at you like if you should know everything on how not to annoy the employees. My sister was suppose to take her driving test, but he denied her because the car insurance was not under her name. Nothing was stated on the dmv website or forms saying that the car insurance had to be under her name. We called the main dmv office and they said that there is no reason he should have denied her. They contacted the Allentown dmv to call us back but they never did. Discrimination and ignorance.
All of the people I had the chance to meet were stupid or rude. They tried to tell me that the mix up I had with my license was my fault and I owed more money. The jerk that wait on me ASSUMED I was wrong. After he actually did his job, he realized I didnt cause the mix-up. I will never come back again. Where does Penn Dot find these people!?
Notley was my test examiner and made me feel so at ease. I appreciate his help and allowing me to take the test with him.
Was just there last week. The number display was broken so they had to shout out the numbers over at least 150 people talking amongst themselves or on the phone. Ill take my chances elsewhere. The workers were helpful and friendly at least.
The place was crowded, but the workers were pleasant enough. Typical DMV. And to the previous reviewer, you went to the wrong office. The office for white people is next door.

Actually, no star is fair for them. They are a kind of American shame. How are such rude and unkind people working for the state agency? Is PennDot an idiot? Get them educated! I dont understand why they make people waiting outside.

I went for a license renual, had my photo ID card. It took 15 min. On a Saturday at 11 am - shocking. Pleasantly surprised. Good experience.
I would highly recommend using the little- known DVM office just 15 minutes further down Route 22 in Easton. Get off at 25th Street (Hwy 248) (a.k.a. Nazareth Road) and head north a couple of blocks to the 25th Street Shopping Center. The DMV office is on the west end of the shopping center (a little hard to find, but worth it!) Across the street from Dunkin Donuts! The lines are short, the people are friendly!
Im actually here right now to change my name on my license due to me getting married ,its 10:09 am now , came in and waited outside at 7:30am ,went in with my driver license and marriage license with the appropriate seal of approval and they said that there was not enough substantial proof to process my license last name change, so I had to drive all the way back to my house in Macungie, thru the 22 traffic... got my social security card and here I am now writing this review ,I was the 2nd one here at the door this morning and they are making me wait for a 5 minute transaction...this place keeps getting worst and worst ...if u look outside they dont even have the money to afford someone to powerwash thier sidewalks ,this is horrible and unacceptable, the people behind the counter are rude, unprofessional ,and lack of communication skills ,I highly recommended going to dmv at Easton and avoid this poor excuse of a operation runned by the department of transportation ...the only one that is a good worker here is the guy in the wheelchair who seems to know how to talk to people and I feel sorry for him working with incompetent Co workers , writing letter to my congressman and senator about this place and how things are always seemed to be runned especially with that supervisor that hides in his office bald head guy with the tattoo really ...never again....

Its a Saturday ! The only day when I get to get time during office hours and they have 4 out of 9 counters empty !Are they serving us ? Am waiting for last 2 hours and another hour at least to go. This time could have been 30minutes!

The customer service at this center is appalling! They make you line up outside in the cold, even with a baby, and just basically treat you like idiots and talk to you like your an idiot! The worst place ever!
People here take more breaks than the tickets they take to help people.. i regret not going to another DMV is super slow here..the only people that really work there are the ladies taking photos and printing the ID cards.. line 8 and 9..

Maribel is what you call a bad manager.....she was rude to customers ...On her cellphone and reading the morning call ....when asked why she isnt doing her job she became HIGHLY combative ....then her sidekick wants to defend her .....everyone else was calling numbers in a timely and moderate manner except her and on the busiest day you chose to be lazy
They are a bunch of rude and inconsiderate people. They need to get rid of them all and hire friendly and PROFESSIONAL people. They move extremely slow and offer no help with information when needed. People have to guess what is needed. RIDICULOUS! !!!
The people that answer are rude you can’t even ask a question with out them yelling the whole time “what is your license number!!” So you give them it and they don’t even answer your question anyways!
Theres way too many people now in the city, they need to update the place to a bigger one with more employees to attend the clients according to our needs is ridiculous to spend 3 hours to do out state driver license transfer, if you are coming here you better take a day off work!

Road test once. If the car parked on the side, turn left onto Hoover Ave, turn left onto Lloyd St, turn right onto the Airport Rd traffic light, then turn right again. If the side parking has been adjusted multiple times, turn right onto Hoover Ave into the movie theater parking lot and go out. Note that a Stop Sign was worn out on the ground, and some students were hanging there. If you hit a pole or hit the shoulder, hang directly and go back to practice.Update: The road test is simpler than Easton, but its too long. I used to renew my drivers license for 4 hours, and the last bunch of nonsense just didnt let me continue. Later, I went to easton for half an hour and made a nonsense sentence without asking any questions. So do n’t come to this place if it ’s a road test.
There is a lady inside who is the one you go and tell her what you are going to do that does not really help you outside they tell you that she speaks Spanish and inside she does not want to speak to you in Spanish even if you tell her that it is your only language
A very slow service you arrive at nine in the morning and you leave at 1:00 in the afternoon

2022-07-24I need to give the Airport Rd DMV a great review. This location has the nicest people I have ever come across. They are all so very friendly. I was trying to get my CDL permits. This took me multiple times to pass. This group of people who did not know me from Adam. They where and the epitome of kindness and suburb customers service. I want them to know how much they all mean to me. They where so kind and cheered me on. I never gave up trying for my permits and they said they admired my determination. It’s had to find great employees and ones who have Extraordinary customer service. Thank You for your kindness. Joey

2017-11-22Wanna know something cool.... Not this place. This DMV is unbearable. It is ridiculously slow. It took me over 2 hours to get a new license. All the workers gossip and chat. And they always take breaks. Counters were empty most of the time. Just like in my pic. Dont come here.

2021-02-24Wasnt sure how it would be because of covid but was pleasantly suprised how quick and efficient they were! Had to go to get a new photo license and name change which I was dreading there could be a long line and wait. However when I went was Wednesday after 1pm and I was in & out within 20 minutes!

2017-01-17On Jan17, 2017 , I arrived this center for renewing my driving licence. I arrived the center about 9am, got my new licence about 10am.Consider I am a non US citizen, the counter 7 gentleman needs to verify quite a few my immigration document to get through my case.I found the staff was very professional and friendly. It was a pleasant and fast experience. great job!

2017-08-24I went here this morning to renew my license picture. I arrived at approx. 9:50am and walked out no later than 10:05am!! I have never had such a pleasant and quick interaction with the DMV in my life!! Norma (the employee who took my picture) was the NICEST woman ever!! She was so kind and calm and deserves to be praised for doing an incredible job. She made it a wonderful experience. Im sure it can get very full in there at peak times, but today was a breeze!
