We used them for airport parking and the lots were completely full. Barely anywhere to park. Once we arrived home from our trip, the shuttle driver told us hed be here in 5 minutes. Didnt show up until 25 minutes after. All of that waiting and he couldnt even take all of us back. Do not book here, do not use the parking, nothing. Stay away from this place.
We prepaid for airport parking here. Never again. The staff were, 2x, very overwhelmed and not able to assist you. We asked where we could park and was told to find a spot. We were never provided any direction as to where and the paperwork needed. Another guest had to assist. We had a flight to catch and prepaid so we were not leaving. Cars were dangerously parked in this lot. I would not have left my vehicle the way and where some people did. But that comes from being given little to no direction. On the return, we waited 40 minutes for a shuttle and then only one of us could get on so I did and then picked up my family from the airport.
Took over an hour for the shuttle to come and the guy pretended there was “another driver” that “never came”. Girl at the front was rude and blamed all the customers for her service not working. Then the shuttle guy told us that our car was in the back so we walked all around the lot when our car was literally 15 feet away from the entrance.
I did not feel safe at this hotel. We had to park in the fire lane with other cars, because there were cars blocking open parking spots. The elevators were broken so we had to haul our luggage up 8 floors. In the room, the fire alarm and water sprinkler were both ripped out of the wall. The air conditioner was also broken and hanging off the wall. The floor was dirty and had not been vacuumed. There were two lamps in the room next to the bed, but none of them were plugged in because there were no outlets against that wall. Strange. The bed looked nice until I lifted the covers, there were large, brown stains over all the sheets. There was also a working motion sensor in the room not connected to anything. Creepy. This place was so dirty, my husband and I waited to get to the airport to brush our teeth. Two good things is that the place did not burn down, and the staff were nice.
Allegedly not their fault BUT I purchased this spot for parking pre paid for Philly Airport. When I got there was not one spot to park but they have no control over their messy parking lot outside you barely could move thru it as messy people parked where they wanted to blocking cars. I dont even think a tow truck could get in there. The manager lady was super sweet not her fault but 3rd party vendor will be reimbursing me. Thank God I was early enough not to miss my flight and barely was able to find parking at airport but finally did
AIRPORT PARKINGI am so stupid. I should have read these reviews. This Airport Parking maybe cheaper but you will pay for it in rude service, a very, very long wait to get your car (over two hour wait), and issues with the shuttle. It is terrible. 911 was even called, I kid you not.
I used this hotel for airport parking. I had a parking reservation printed out and in my hand which I had made weeks prior, but when I got there on time for my reservation (2.5 hours before my flight departure) they told me there were no parking spots left. They passed blame and said it was not their fault that they had no spots left, and that they did not have spots left for me because I booked their parking through a 3rd party, which I did. If I had parked through Penrose hotel directly, then apparently this would not have happened. Regardless, why is this hotel partnering with these 3rd parties which overbook and leave people stranded and in a panic right before their flight is about to take off?? We almost missed our flight that day due to this hotel’s selfish desire to keep doing business with bad companies. I realize it was the 3rd party to overbook, but it is the hotels responsibility to not work with companies who do this, or else it rightfully will come back to haunt this hotels reputation. I did not appreciate how the staff passed blame, and took no responsibility for how ridiculous it is to work with a company who treats people this way. Any hotel who is ok with keeping this 3rd party connection in order to make some extra money on the expense of their customers panic and dismay is not a place I would ever give my business to, and I suggest you don’t either.
This hotel is now CLOSED for remodeling. When it reopens, it will be rebranded as a Radisson hotel. Hopefully, the new hotel will be refurbished enough to meet the standards most people expect from a Radisson. The property was at one time a Ramada... but that didnt last very long. Ramada and Radisson BOTH do not own hotels. The person or company that DOES own the property enters into a licensing agreement with a national brand in order to take advantage of that brands reputation, loyalty program and reservations system.
Worst Hotel Ever! Shower, Toilet, and sink only had boiling hot water where after 3 seconds was unbearable. Told maintenance and they claimed to fix it, but it never changed. The beds are filthy and disgusting. The sheets were clean but still is very uncomfortable knowing what you are sleeping on. The elevators havent worked in 2 years as per the diner across the street(which was a great diner!)Another fun fact is the stairs you must climb to your room literally are the most sketchy hallway i have ever been in. Holes in headboards. Carpet is gross id love to know when the last time it was cleaned or vacuumed. Parking isa NIGHTMARE. The employees say park anywhere you can(if you can even find a spot). The employees are very sweet, and do wish they could help all of these issues.
DO NOT PARK HERE. it’s a hotel trying to make extra $ using their parking lot for airport parking. There’s no where to park, the cars are on top of each other. They only have one van and one driver. Everyone was getting Ubers to get to the airport bc the van was taking too long to come back. We waited over 45min to get on the van. Then when we returned the lady says we have too many people to pick up so you’ll have to wait and we’ll get to you when we can! Needless to say after waiting over a hour my husband had to get a Uber to go get the car n come back to the airport to get us. Oh n make sure you don’t forget the ticket they give you to pick up your car bc they said if you loose it, you’ll have to call the police to get it back. I WILL NEVER USE THIS PARKING LOT AGAIN!!!
Stayed here for one night with friends and it was the WORSE place EVER!. Elevators did not work, and required us to take these creepy staircases that looked like a crackhead may live there, the room itself smelled like cigarettes,, the Ac was broken, there was no hot water. The carpets in the the hallways were ripped and they even used wooden blocks to maintain doors close. This looks so abandoned, it just makes you feel completely unsafe. The carpet in the room had questionable white stains all over. The service in this hotel stinks !!I dont understand why this place is still business. Also, be careful cause what they advertise is false and misleading. This place is by far the worse place i ever stayed at. Please do yourself a favor and book elsewhere, it not worth the stressed to stay here not even for a night.
Parked here for airport parking. The absolute worst!! They over parked, no valet, asks you to walk the lot to find your car. Once you find your car and inform them it’s parked in they tell you to go back out and get the number for the car that they parked in front of you. Hotel is shut down so they need to make up for their money with their parking that legit has NO SYSTEM. Trust the reviews!!!
Where do I start a to wonderful trip to the Caribbean only not being able to get a shuttle back to the hotel because apparently the gentleman that runs the shuttle was probably sleeping! Next on the agenda you walk in the girl behind the counter has the worst cold you could imagine but her boss told her she had to come into work. Next we were informed that the elevators did not work, the only room they had available was on the tenth floor!!! We decided to try because we were tired, on the way up the stairs the rugs were filthy they look like they werent vacuumed in years! On our way up we came across a few younger people that took pictures of their room and they werent staying either because there were water marks on the walls in the ceiling and amongst other things probably mold under a ripped carpet. Needless to say I dont think anyone wants to stay there. I intend to call the health department when I get home!!! We also ask for our money back and the young lady behind the counter said she couldnt accommodate us because she couldnt do it she had to wait for her manager in the morning! It was the worst experience I think Ive ever had! Just to reiterate again the hotel was filthy think twice before you stay anywhere!
I do not even know where to begin. Please beware!!!! I would not stay in this hotel ever again. I wish I could add pics to my review to show the audacity of this place to actually call themselves a “hotel”. This building should be condemned; the elevator does not work, paint is peeling off the walls, mold all over the shower, our toilet bowl tank did not have a cover over it, the list goes on!!! When we arrived (at 10:30pm w our 2 small children) we were notified of the broken elevator and we’d be staying on the 3rd floor. We had no other choice but to stay because we had a 6am flight to catch and we were leaving our car there for long term parking. We had to use the stairs which was the emergency staircase carrying 2 children up to the 3rd floor. As we left the next morning I fell down the last couple of steps, bruising both arms along with my ankle which swelled right up. We notified the woman at the front desk and went on about how dangerous it is using those stairs and asked for ice. We requested to speak to a manager, yet no response and we’re still waiting for someone to get back to us. Stay tuned!!!!
Elevator was broken and we were told at last moment so it would be extremely expensive to book elsewhere.Turns out the elevator was broke for years.the only good thing about the room would of been the stories that the room could tell because it was nasty and used up in all the dive bar type of ways but a hotel room...
This hotel is dirty. Really dirty. The sheets had marks on them, the towels had hair on them, it smells musty and old. The elevators are broken. We were on the 9th floor. Enough said about that. Ice machines were taken out. My question is if the elevators are broken, how is the cleaning staff getting their supplies to all the floors for cleaning? The staff tried to be friendly but no one was happy, guests or staff. We stayed here because of it being close to Lincoln financial field but do yourself a favor and stay downtown.
For all the renovations that have taken place, it still needs so much more. The elevators were not working. There were several people there that could not negotiate the steps. Walking into the lobby there were several cracks and it had a distinctive odor that was not pleasant. There were several events taking place but nothing in the lobby to let you know where to go.The carpets are thread bare. Highlight of the night the ladies room was clean and there were supplies. If the supplies ran out they would quickly accommodate us.This is not a place I would reccomend especially for an overnight stay, very scary.
The only thing going for this place is the proximity to the airport. The place is a total dump. The elevators were out of service, anywhere other than the lobby looked abandoned and broken down. The lighting flickered, the carpets were partially ripped up and dirty, the vending machine sodas were warm, no coffee maker in the room and none offered in the lobby in the morning. The room was visually better than the rest of the place but I was skeptical about the cleanliness based on the rest of the place. I would not stay here again.
I had read the reviews prior to booking this hotel. Im not a picky person when it comes to where I stay. Upon checking in, the front desk informed us that the elevators were down. I dont mind steps at all, but these steps were pretty steep and in a very creepy kind of stairwell. I am aware its an old building, but this was actually scary to walk up and down at night especially. When we got to the room it was as expected for the price (you get what you pay for). We looked for an ice machine on our floor...none. I called the front desk and the young gentlemen said if we brought him down the pitcher he would give us ice. Mind you, elevators are still down. That is completely unacceptable customer service. I am a manager in a huge brick and mortar store, so I know how things should be handled. We were not going to make that walk again, after we had just gotten to our floor. Room was decent size, beds were okay...nothing great. Air did work wonderfully which was a huge plus. All in all, I was disappointed at the customer service, while they were all very nice, they should have been more accommodating.
Do not stay here. I cannot believe theyre allowed to have this place open. Elevator is broken, and has been for a very long time, forcing customers to walk up stairs, sometimes as high as the eighth floor. Our room had zero working outlets in it, the shower only gave us cold water and the taps where taped to the wall. The hallways were dirty and the floors had not been vacuumed in weeks. The beds in our room were okay but I heard otherwise from other guests. The hotel is nonrefundable - which is probably the only way theyre still in business. They also take $100 (USD) for a damage deposit that we have yet to get back. Please do not waste your money. This is not a safe hotel at all.
There was no mini fridge in the room. The carpets was all stained. The elevator was broke. The toilet ran all day and night. Check in was a nightmare due to lack of communication. You pay a decent amount of money and you have to pay for parking in there lot. Only thing nice i can say is the staff was friendly and helpful. And the toilet ran on hot water so that made the toilet seat warm. Haha kinda liked that at x oclock in the morning.
This hotel was disgusting both inside and out. I actually passed this hotel previously and thought it was condemned. This hotel was booked online for a Saturday night stay. The day before I received an email stating the elevators were being repaired. We arrived Saturday afternoon and the outside was a complete dump. There was someone standing outside talking about seeing rats and bed bugs. I walked in to the lobby and it was run down, dirty, and it looked like the curtains were going to fall down at any point. We tried to cancel our reservations at the desk, but because they were booked online they told me I had to call. I went to use the lobby bathroom (long trip) and the outside door to the bathroom was stuck on the floor about half way open. The bathroom was also a dirty mess. I would not stay at this hotel!
This place is STELLAR for the fitness fanatic. They offer a unique and diverse selection of amenities. Upon entering you are immediately notified of the free workout provided to every customer. They have turned off the elevator out of their concern for the obesity epidemic. Making the stairwell feel like a crackhead may pop out at any time really gets you running up those stairs. Upon arrival to the room, you are greeted with a scent designed to discourage any urge u may have had to lounge around in the room being lazy. You will not be oversleeping and wasting away the day on these mattresses! Stained and lumpy is the name of the game. Heavy sleeper? Plenty of creepy crawlers to wake you in the wee hours and get your blood pumping. Still not motivated? The exposed wires coming out of the walls will give you the jump start you need. A+
I literally did not feel safe here. To start, the elevators were broken and we had to carry our bags up 8 floors through the unkempt, narrow stairwell. The missing smoke detector and spotty, un-vacuumed carpet was unsettling. There was dust and dirt on everything in the room. The AC unit casing was broken and exposed. Toilet seat was peeling off. No garbage can in the room. There were also stains on the sheets. We tried to bail and just pay for another hotel, but the storm that night caused all flights to get cancelled and everywhere else was booked up. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have had in the US and it makes me not want to travel. The front desk staff was nice at least.
When we arrived to check in, we were informed that whilst we had reserved a room with a king-size bed, none were available and so would we instead accept a room with two smaller beds - no single-bed rooms were available so this was an implied take it or leave it.The hotel only had one working elevator servicing all floors, and which took so long to arrive that on several occasions we ended up taking the stairwell instead. Further whilst there were ice machines on all floors, only one (located on the tenth floor) was actually operational. In our room, there were suspicious stains in the bath, and a sticky substance on the toilet seat. The air conditioner/heating unit was incredibly noisy. Probably the only good thing about our stay was that the beds were clean, and the view from our room was fantastic.Breakfast in the morning (when the corridors stank of weed and the stairwell of burning hair) was underwhelming and mostly frozen. We did not receive a receipt on checking out, however our security deposit ($100!) was returned in less than ten business days. Hotel staff were incredibly unprofessional (e.g. the desk staff remarking that it is disrespectfully cold in here), and it seemed that there was no heat in the entire lobby floor (which included the bar where self-serve breakfast was laid out).Overall, would not recommend although proximity to sports stadiums makes it a good last resort if in the city for a game.
Hate this place! My boyfriend, 3 yr old and my self care here for an occasional get away. First night was fine only thing the elevator was broken and been down for a while but the second time I came back the first room they gave me was completely trashed. Chair flipped over mattress off the frame trashed! Walked down to the lobby where they gave us another room on the 3rd floor had to walk back up 3 flights just to have that room trashed too. Shower handle broke off, dog hair everywhere, furniture chewed on with wood shavings scattered. My boyfriend went down this time and they still placed us on the 3rd floor. He was exhausted! Front desk was very polite and offered to come in that morning and discuss what happened to management to get my price reduced. Which she did! I really don’t recommend this place!
Go at your own risk... the hotel is very old and over priced. Should be classified as a motel. Employees were nice. Bed very soft.(meaning too soft for my liking).Yes needs a total renovation with chip paint and all. TV worked and sheets were clean. Oh yeah only one elevator works so it was hectic when workers and other guests needed to get on. I stayed one night and saw a charge for two nights, within a 3 day separation. Good thing I had proof from another hotel that I was there. SMH
Buyers beware: the photos they use for the hotel are from a long time ago. They are misleading and it’s not what my friends and I got. We had reserved a room for one night. We made one of worst mistakes coming to this hotel. Room was in pretty bad shape, and that’s putting it nicely. We immediately canceled our room after spending 5 minutes in it. A good amount of people were canceling their reservations and complaining to the only 2 employees I saw the whole night. It’s took us 30 minutes cancel, customer service was bad. Long story short... please do not go to this hotel.
Unfortunately an abysmal experience - the bathroom had not been properly cleaned, only one of the two elevators worked, and despite the availability of ice machines on all floors all but one was broken. The smell of weed permeated the corridors, and the free breakfast consisted largely of still-frozen bagels, sugary fruit juice, and reheated scrambled eggs (some still near-frozen!). Worst of all was that on checking in I was informed that the room I had booked (several months in advance!) was not actually available - so much for reservation! The beds were comfy however, and a fantastic view of the city was available from my room.
Absolutely the worst hotel Ive ever been to. Might as well of booked a motel instead. DO NOT believe the pictures. Rooms are nothing like it. Once arrived, we were told that the elevators werent working. Got to our room, many flights of stairs later, tired and sweaty and the shower wasnt working. Paid a $25 parking fee.... what the hell is a parking fee?! Anyways, staff was loud and rude. 7AM in the morning all you hear is a loud knock ROOM SERVICE while having the Do Not Disturb sign up...... nothing left to say .
This hotel is the WORST hotel I have ever seen in my entire life of traveling. If I could give it 0/5 I would. The elevator not working was one thing, but walking up the steps felt like something from a murder scene and it smelled like urine. Once we got up to the 4th floor, our room smelled like cigarettes already (even though we were told smoking wasn’t allowed) The shower had stains in it. Our headboard had something smeared across it. So we went back down and they put us in an even worse room 2 doors down from the first. Our ceiling was very clearly struggling to stay in place, the smell was even worse, our toilet was leaking when we flushed it. It smelled like something had died in there. Within 5 minutes of being there, something had bit me. We didn’t stay in this hotel longer than 30 minutes before we had to find a new hotel.
Walking into the hotel I was not greeted. I then proceeded to tell the receptionist my information to check me into my room , she then begins to tell me i am not in her system. I then pulled up my confirmation number in my email to tell her I booked my room . She asked for ID which I then proceeded to give to her. She had the ID BUT still said the wrong name . At that time I was told to contact the website I booked the room for. Being there for Hour and After being on HOLD for 35 minutes, I was then able to talk to someone FINALLY , Who transferred me 3 times just to say absolutely nothing. Which took about a hour . I was then able to get e verything in order. Looking around the hotel I then noticed the elevator was out of service . Just my luck ... ! Walking through the halls and walking upstairs I then came to the conclusion that the HOTEL ON CRACK WAS HORRIBLE ! The carpets were pulled up . It had this horrible OLD SMELL ! Trash in the hallways near the room . Not to mention the hard slamming doors. We then walked into the room , WHICH LOOKS LIKE NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE ON THE WEBSITE. The toilet wouldn’t flush. I then noticed that it was 2 extra doors in my room . It almost looked like someone can walk in if they had a key. My checkout time was at 11am & I left 6:45am. The hotel overall was a DISASTER ! The service that they give is utterly disgusting. This service is absolutely without a doubt Unprofessional. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone !
I came here with very low expectations after reading just a few of the reviews. The room itself was really not that bad, it was clean. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a handle broken on the nightstand and it looked like a piece of ceiling was peeling in the bathroom, but the floor while a bit dusty along the walls was spotless and the beds nicely made with fresh linens. (I had brought my own pillows, sheets & blankets in preparation, but didnt really need them), there were no bugs or stains. Only one roll of toilet paper and the bathroom door sticks and I thought I was locked in even though my family was right on the other side of the door! I kept jiggling it and pushing the button and it was just locked I realized I needed to twist the knob hard and slowly to the left. The heater as others have mentioned works very well (from chilly to furnace in about a minute) Upon first walking into the hotel you can clearly tell there are renovations going on. There were some buckets with dirty water by the front entrance being dripped in and what looked like dry wall residue sprinkled around it on the floor. Indeed there was a $10 fee for parking yet their lot was pretty much full so both times I needed to find a spot I had to park creatively. The free WiFi doesnt work. The complimentary breakfast is unavailable as the room they have it in has gone under renovation. I was able to receive a $15 credit from the travel site I booked the room through since I was promised 3 free breakfasts. Theres no fridge or microwave, not that it said there was, but I kind of got used to most places having them so kind of a bummer coming back with food knowing it needs to be eaten right away or tossed. Oh yea, I got yelled at when I first pulled up to check in because I parked at the entrance and though there were 2 paths to drive through and one was still perfectly open I was somehow blocking the airport shuttle and was forced to leave my spot in line to move my van to the fire lane parking just past the entrance. That same guy though who I guess might be the hotel manager was very nice with subsequent encounters. Also not necessarily that its the hotels fault but the surrounding area is a little seedy. But for the $55 I ended up paying it was well worth it to me and exceeded my ridiculously low expectations. Oh and the elevator works fine, it just has a bit of a smell, kind of like cat pee or mildew.
The hotel is expensive for the quality offered. It is far from down town. The hotel needs an important restoration. Most plugs in my room didnt work and rain leakage through the window into the room. Barroom also needed an important restoration. Only one lift was working and it took ages to go up or down as you even share it with the room cleaning service, the check in and check out extremely slow. The breakfast, included, was really bad, tables were not clean. On top of that they charge an extra 100 bugs as additional security deposit that is retained for 10 days
Worst experience in a hotel in ages. This outdated tower had no working elevator at the time of our reservation. Upon arrival we were told that we could not check in because there were no rooms ready and to come back later (we were told we had a an early check in time of 11am and then on arrival it was posted 4pm check in.) When I called to see if a room was open later that afternoon we were told that the elevators were broken and that the lowest floor available was the 6th. When we got there they tried to check us into a room on the EIGHTH floor. I explained that we weren’t told that ten minutes ago and they gave us the room on the sixth. The room... ugh. Smelled musty and smokey. Bed comforter had several cigarette burns, paint cracking, mold all over the inside of the shower curtain, the AC smelled like mold, and we immediately did a check for bed bugs. Told my wife that there was no way we were staying there. Went back down the fire emergency stairwell to leave. Saving grace was that the manager on duty was very understanding and cancelled the reservation without charging us. Never booking a room there in the future.
Got rooms that were already assigned to other guests. We paid for two room about 1 month in advance. We called asking if there was late check-in and they told us it was ok. Later in the evening we called again and they said that they didnt have the late check-in registered and if we didnt arrive soon they couldnt guarantee the rooms, even though they were all paid. When we got there there was another customer and we overheard he was getting the last room after he left. The desk clerk told us our two rooms were really the last two. While checking in, the man came back down saying there were people already in the room he just got. After we got our room keys we went up to the rooms and indeed in one of there where two other guests already in the room. So we asked for a refund and started searching for another hotel. I DO NOT recommend it at all.
If youre heading to Citizens Bank Park, Penrose hotel might seem like a good option, trust me its not.Right when we arrived they couldnt find our reservation even though we booked and paid months in advance through Expedia. While they were able to get us in no problem, we just found out that they charged our card twice for the 1 night stay. Our rooms were not ready for the check-in time (4pm) and we were left waiting for an hour in the lobby for our room to be made even though the receptionist said they were ready at 3:15 when we stopped by. We were the first people in line for check-in, there were at least 25-30 people waiting after us in the lobby. We also saw at least 3 employees standing around talking to people in the parking lot on two separate occasions while we were waiting, instead of getting the rooms ready. When we got into our room, it wasnt even cleaned. There were random bits of garbage all over the floor and right next to the bed, there were coins in the toilet, and the only big towel we were given was still wet.We walked to the ballpark which took about 25 minutes. When we got back around 11 at night, there were still people waiting for their rooms to be made.I can honestly say Ive never stayed in a bigger dump than this one, trust the other reviews and avoid this place!
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I booked a room here back in January for a concert that I was going to attend. Due to COVID the concert was postponed so I tried to change my dates of the reservations. After much digging I found that the dates I wanted were unavailable. I tried to reach out to the hotel via booking.com since that is where I made the reservation and all the contact info was easily. I was unable to get in contact with this hotel. I tried to see if by any chance they would waive the cancelation fee. No luck of being in contact. I decided what the hell we will keep the reservation and have a getaway weekend in Philadelphia. The day before we are going to leave I get a call from the hotel stating they are overbooked and cannot accommodate me. Mind you this reservation was made back in January, and I decided to keep it and not cancel it. The woman on the phone was not apologetic in any way. Just told me to call booking for a refund or new hotel and hung up. Thankfully for the customer service through booking.com I was able to get a full refund and found a new hotel. However; do to the lack of customer service and frankly other reviews I have read I will never give this place my business. This experience was horrible. I implore that you dont give them your business, and for those who have had better service you got lucky.
NEVER stay here. I seriously mean never. My flight was canceled and I lost my baggage so I booked this hotel without even thinking about checking reviews. The wallpaper is tearing off the walls, carpet is coming up. The elevators are broken so you have to take these extremely creepy stairs with spray painted room floors. I was never given a room card, instead the employees just unlocked the door for me. Although, they unlocked it before I even got up there so someone could’ve easily came in before I even got up there. My room also didn’t even have a lock that worked. A single young girl in a hotel room that doesn’t lock? No way in hell. The only nice thing about the place was the fact that there were no bugs in my room. Don’t EVER stay here
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the Luke Combs Concert in November. The Hotel was easy to find however finding where to park. Once I got in the guy behind the counter was going crazy but took care of us as soon as he realized we was checking in. I made a reservation online so everything was set up. We got to our room which was on the 5th floor after walking up all the steps since we had no idea where the elevator was since the main one was under construction. The room was not the one reserved and my CC was ran for a 100.00 more than what the reservation said. I went back to the main lobby where now was a lady. She was rude and said I should have read the sign that said the 100.00 was a security deposit. (Which I dont mind paying but a heads up would have been nice). The original guy was still there and you could tell he was trying to make us happy and switched our room to the one we requested.
Staff was nice. Place was not. Found out after arriving and booking that the elevator was broken. Hallways looked kind of trashed and room had a faint cigarette smoke smell to it. Inside of the room was nice and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel breakfast. Came with a 24 hour airport shuttle, which was nice.
This is the worst hotel in Philadelphia. I will never ever stay at this rat hole ever again. The front desk staff is inept and didn’t know anything. I booked on line was not informed of a $100.00 hold on my account. I won’t get my money back for 10-14 days. My room was a mess, no one cleaned my room for 3 days and they told me they have no washcloths orTowels. My faucet was broken and I had to hold it to turn it on. Do notBook through Splitty Travel because they are in Romania and you will notGet anywhere. I can’t do this and nowI am broke because of these ratchet people.
This was the worst hotel I have ever visited. My friend and I got there, it looked nothing like the pictures on the website. We checked in, the elevator was broken and had to walk up 6 flights of stairs with all of our belongs. Another person staying there warned us to not even go to our room because they were so bad. We decided to give it a shot but, once we got up there, we immediately looked around and canceled our stay. The room was not clean at all and things were broken. The front desk was good about giving us our money back because, it probably happens a lot.
This hotel is filthy, a literal health hazard. The carpeting is old, filthy and dirty. The bathrooms have rust and mold. I highly suggest sleeping in your car, or on the street, versus staying at this hotel. The main elevators did not work and had to use service elevator, which had no safety equipment inside of it. I am not trying to be disrespectful, I am just being completely honest!
The hotel clearly needed to be updated. The outlets werent really strong enough to charge our phones, if they worked at all. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, but even then the box spring was 2 twin beds. Oh, and the first room they tried to put us in smelled like cigarettes. Not impressed and would not stay here again. Wish we had looked into the hotel a bit more before making a reservation.
This place is an abysmal resort to stay at. Do not stay here. The elevator is broken and I have not heard of any expected date for it to be fixed or replaced, the room was infested with flies and an awful stench, and huge cracks stretched from the floor all the way to the ceiling. I asked to try a different room to find that it was not better than the first complete with the same stained and dingy atmosphere. I had seen enough and immediately changed hotels (to a fantastic spot in center city Philly called Home2 Suite by Hilton, highly recommend looking at them instead).Upon checking out, there was a line of customers checking out that had the same experience as I, one woman even had images of the hypodermic needle she found in her bed. The staff was neither helpful nor sympathetic to any of the customers and seemed to wave of any complaints.I hope this helps bring these conditions to light, and highly recommend you do not stay here. Period. The price is not worth it, even if it is cheap. Stay anywhere else, believe me. When I sleep in the woods I expect to have bugs on me, not when I pay money to sleep indoors in 21st century Philly.
The Penrose hotel should be demolished. It is disgusting. The only good thing about this hotel is how close it is to the Eagles stadium. I read reviews prior to arriving at the hotel stating that the elevator does not work. I didnt think it would be such an issue until I had to walk all the way up to the 9th floor. The room we were given looked nothing like the photos they show on their website. There are stains and burn marks all over the carpet. Most of the outlets do not work. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The shower did not even have a shower head, which made it unusable. Everything about this hotel is rundown and filthy to the point where my boyfriend and I chose to drive home for hours instead of stay at the Penrose hotel. Do not stay here, you will regret it.
Staff is friendly and super accommodating. Room was clean and had zero issues with the water. The elevator was also working totally fine. Its OBVIOUS the hotel is under construction. That being said everything exceeded expectations. Hotel is in a good neighborhood and close to everything without being in the middle of all the city noise. I would 100% book here again next time I am in Philly!
You will no longer park at this hotel. They steal your money, occupy all access roads with cars, you cant leave the parking lot, you find the car scratched and above all ,the hotel receptionist treats you without respect, she has an attitude, she is totally unprofessional!
A very unfortunate experience. First impression, this place was in need of renovations. Front door was not working. Water fountains not working. Mouldings was falling off the walls. I received an email a week ago saying the elevator was broken. I figured it would be fixed after a week. It wasnt. My room was on the 9th floor. Got to the room and the air conditioning did not work. We were moved to another room, which was also in need of repair. No handle on the bottom drawer of dresser. We has coffee and cups but no coffee maker. The only reason for not giving 1 star is that the little restaurant was very nice and had a nice little breakfast set up. Also the gentleman at the front desk was very apologetic
My wife and I travel a lot and this has the be the rudest staff I have ever encountered. upon arrival, my wife and I were literally yelled at like elementary school children , being told to stand behind the pillar on this side to check in, only to be told our room wasnt ready. No big deal. We gave our phone number to be contacted when it was and went out to grab dinner. After 2 hours and no call, we returned to ask if a room was ready and they said they didnt have a king bed as of yet, would we want a two twin bed room, where we explained, no thank you, we paid for the king bed and would like a room with such. so we waited another hour and told us they had a room ready after talking to another rude person behind the counter. We went to the room, one door key didnt work and used the second key to see a dirty room with two twin beds. We turned around ,went downstairs and after the rude staff member acted like we were at fault for not wanting the room, we were done. I cancelled my reservation and left. They charged me for the room and for 3 days the manager refused to take my wifes calls, nor return her call. I finally spoke with Ava, who blew me off and refused to grant my refund. Again, this is the worst experience I have ever had in my extensive traveling !!!!!
This is actually one of the crappiest hotels Ive ever stayed in. First of all, this hotel has over a dozen floors and the elevators are out of order. The location is near the airport and the reason I chose to stay there was for the park and ride, but Im surprised this hotel isnt condemned by the state. The halls were torn up as if squatters had been living freely in this hotel for weeks, there was trash in the halls, and I wouldnt have been surprised if someone died in the room or if I were to have walked in and found someone shooting up heroine. For the price of this hotel I expected it to be much nicer. I dont think I would ever say here again unless things drastically changed.
Pictures of the hotel looked real nice. However, when I arrived, it was completely different. There was no pool, no benches to sit on outside during a nice day. Room looked more like a motel. It wss dirty and old. The sports bar was closed, and the staff forgot to give me my wake up call and I almost missed my flight. The drivers was great and courteous. I am not used to staying in this type of hotel. They need to invest in this hotel because its very convenient to the airport.
The elevator doesnt work. The carpet was dirty. A bunch of hair is in the drain of th tub. The toilet run and I ask them to fix it and they never came. I asked for a refund and its none refundable Im very upset cause Im stuck here it deserve 0 stars. They moving mattresses up and down the hall this place needs to be shut down and renovated.
We were in town for a concert and chose this place for its convenient location. Worst mistake we ever made. The place is run down and the elevator didnt work. We were assigned a room on the 10th floor and the guy at the front desk said hed waive the parking fee if we stayed. Thankfully we were there for just one night and with only an overnight bag we climbed the 10 flights. We were told the elevator broke a few days ago but i noticed the controls were cut out of the wall on each floor. They have been out of service a lot longer. I suspect the elevator failed inspection and the state or city building department removed the controls so it couldnt be used. I put 1 star only because google wouldnt post the review but believe me it doesnt even rate the star.
Do not use this place for airport parking!!!! It is a joke. If you can find a place in their lot, it is very tight. Very bad lighting and the cars are just parked whatever way you can. My car got scratched and the shuttle to the airport and back is even worse. You feel lucky to make it in one piece. And the wait times for the shuttle is horrible. We just waited for 2 hours at the airport for the driver to pick us up. The overbook their lot and had only a 6 passenger minivan to use for a shuttle. So the driver was going out of his mind trying to get everybody. His phone just rang off the hook with people complaining. Very bad experience!!!!!
Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. the elevator doesn’t work and clearly hasn’t been working in a long time. the stairs were very creepy and so was a lot of the hotel. the room wasn’t clean, the bathroom had mold. we left early. the only good thing about this hotel was the staff, they were very nice
Im being generous with 1 star. I really should have read the reviews before I booked. Apparently the elevators had been non-functioning for over a month. Supposedly they were being repaired when we arrived. Our room was on the 2nd floor, but that meant climbing stairs to the mezzanine that looked like they havent had a vacuum touch them in months, then another 3 flights of stairs. The room smelled musty and had no refrigerator in the room. The room itself is generously large because they are all wedge shaped. It would have been nice to have a loveseat and maybe a club chair in the corner to take up some of the empty space. The building itself is round and has 12 floors just for the rooms. With the elevators out of service for so long, I just wonder how housekeeping lugs all the linens up from wherever theyre kept. Its a safe bet that were never going to stay here again. I may edit this after I see what the complimentary breakfast is like.
I used this place for airport parking and BEWARE . This place is a ripped off. The poor service, disorganized pick up and drop off from the airport and catalytic converter was stolen from my car doesn’t deserve this one star for this place. Use an Uber or Lyft instead . You’ll ended up paying more from all the inconvenience.
I DO NOT STAY IN THE HOTEL BUT I LEFT MY CAR IN THE PARKING SHUTTLE BUS I GOT ATTITUDE ALS THE GIRL THAT WORK AT THE FRONT DESK .WEND I COME BACK FRONT MY TRIP I NEED TO TAKE A TAXI BECAUSE THE SHUTTLE BUS NEVER CAME I CALL THE HOTEL THE LADY TELL ME I NEED TO CALL ANOTHER NUMBER I DID THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE SO I CALL THE HOTEL AGAIN AND THE LADY HANG OUT ON ME
Elevators do not work. I had to walk 5 flights to get to my room, with all my luggage to carry as well. Front desk service is horrible. They act as if you need them. The phones in the rooms do not work. The carpet in the room smells like mildew. Fungus in the bathroom ceiling. The worst hotel in Philadelphia. But the location is good
DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE. Elevators were broken and have been for months according to employees. They actually have the elevators filled with stuff as if they are a storage closet. The parking lot was completely full and people were parking across the street at a Chinese restaurant. Neither of our rooms had working a/c and one of the doors had to be forced closed to stay shut. We had a phone in our room but no phone line was even there to be connected to it.On the bright side the staff there was incredibly patient and genuinely felt bad for the guests. But they arent management and cant fix all the problems with this place. So ya cant take it out on them. I blame the website Booking dot com for even listing a disaster place like this. Like I said.. do not stay at this place and we will never use Booking dot com again.
Worst hotel I have ever been to!! First off the elevators did not work!! Stairway was like in a scary movie where your sent to die. Then the room was so disgusting! Pee stains on the chests, blood stains in the bathroom. The room looked like it hasnt been cleaned in months even years. Never ever ever go here. The only positive was the front desk and even then they were incompetent! Its cheap but even so its over priced!!
Just used them for airport parking, didnt stay at the hotel. I did however notice that the elevators werent working. This hotel is at least 12 stories tall!Parking was completely oversold. You have to check in with the front desk clerk, who couldnt move any slower, or be less interested. The shuttle drivers were both excellent, but I would never park here again. Not worth the hassle for the $4 per day I saved versus parking at the long term lot at the airport.
This is the worst hotels I have stayed at. I called the day before to make sure my reservation was all set i arrived at 9pm at night and they had given away my room they stuck my family in the tiny room. There was no cable at all and they state that it included in the room. No cold water only hot hot water. They charged more than was advertised. We asked for fresh towels our second night and got told no. And they are extremely rude! And to top it all they charge us to park both night! Take my advise stay somewhere else!!!!
This hotel lack basic amenities including gym. They dont provide drinking water in the room. The rooms smell horrible inside. They charge for parking your car there, despite being a guest. It would have been nice to put that on their website that extra charge applies for bringing your car.
Honestly we didnt even check in. We were worried after reading reviews but had already booked. Entering the lobby, the elevator is temporarily out of order for apparently 6+ months now. So is the water fountain. So is a urinal in the restroom. But we waited to check in anyways. And waited. I mean there were 2 people ahead of us but after 15 minutes theyd only managed to check in one other person. But another couple came down the stairs and started talking to us. They were going to try to get their room cancelled, since apparently they didnt give them keys and were escorted up and let into the room....and they were asked when theyd be back so they could be let in again. And they didnt have any cold water (only scalding hot). And no air conditioning. The couple was on their way out so they just told us their room number and invited us to go up and check it out since it was unlocked (or rather they flipped the chain lock so the door wouldnt close...since again, no key. We went up the creepy stairs other reviewers mentioned and the room was terrible. Smelled like cigarette smoke, stained carpets, etc. Thats not to mention the garbage in the halls and beer cans in the stairwell, the barricaded doors, etc. So we just left... through the door where the fire alarm would sound if opened (before we noticed the sign). It did not sound.
Very misleading on the website this hotel looks like it is five star hotel. The lobby was decent, but first of all the elevators dont even work so you will end up having to climb stairs to get to your room. Once you climb the carpets arent even on the floor and the doors have chipped paint on it and it looks like a rundown apartment building. I didnt even make it to my room I had to check in somewhere else immediately. I do not recommend this place to anyone please save yourself.
The check in process was complicated and longer than need be. Our first room didnt have a working toilet, and the second smelled like an ash tray. The room was dusty it looked like it hadnt been vaccumed in weeks and the bathroom sink handles were loose. Customer service was poor and beyond unfriendly. They advertise a free breakfast which is false. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
When I call to get reservations no one told me that it would be a 100 dollar incident deposit on top of the 133.00 dollars for a king size room .Then when checking in I was informed that the elevator didnt work and my room was on the 12 floor also there was no working ice machine ...so I called the front desk they said there is no working machine on any floor. The front desk person was nice enough to bring some ice to me.When I checked out the next day I ask if I could get a discount for all the inconvenience and was told no that I already got my discount. Will never go there again
Extremely long check in line. Stood in line for over an hour just to check in. The staff seemed to move very slowly. The elevator was broken and we ended up on the 10th floor. With a lung disease and arthritis is was extremely difficult to make it up carrying luggage as well. After many stops I made it. But I would have to do that again late at night when returning from a concert. By the way the steps were very dirty and creepy. I heard from someone they were there before and the elevator was broken for the length of their stay as well. The room looked as though it had not been vacumed or dusted. There were stains on the bed covers. Sheets were clean and no bugs!! Thankfully. Dresser drawers were broken. The bathroom was clean but there was no shower curtain. I was so agrivated at the whole place I didnt even call when I needed to shower at midnight.I definitely would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!!!
Horrible horrible horrible! Elevator doesnt work. The carpets in the lobby are filthy. The stairs that lead to the rooms are scary to walk up and down. The room filthy. The room carpet so dirty that I dont even want to imagine what was the white stain on the rooms carpet. The shower had no warm water. The alarm in the room broken. The ac in the room barely worked. The towels in the bathroom are so damn rough and cheap. Dont book here! I dont even know how this place is in business. Let me not forget that as soon as we entered the room it smells like heavy cigarette smoke. Dont book here! Omg another thing I have bites all over my body. This place might have bugs too! Book elsewhere!
This place is very classless! It lacks customer service and fashion. The Indian women and light skin Russian women don’t like African Americans, this hotel is infested with bugs (bed bugs, lady bugs), the elevator doesn’t work (what a total inconvenience), me and my partner stayed here on a business trip because we design clothes and the Indian lady showed no remorse in discriminating against us and other families that were arriving! The house keepers are the only positive thing about this hotel!!! The walls look as if they was just thrown together at the last minute, the carpet reek of mold, the phones sometimes didn’t work and overall this place deserves NO STARS. If I could put this place in the negatives, I would! DO NOT INVEST YOUR MONEY IN THIS HOTEL! Invest your money some where you’ll get great customer service and where you are appreciated!
I parked my car for taking flight from PHL. It wasted lots of my time on waiting the shuttle bus come, and waiting for the shuttle bus departure... Yes, I sat in the bus for a long time, didnt know what I was waiting for. Ah, the waiting time was so long that I event forgot why I was there...
Hotel is not that great. If you cant find anything better anywhere else and must stay near the area. Then its okay. But the dont even have the basics. We had a room with no towels and no wash cloths. No soap and no shampoo. Our sink leaked and the phone was missing buttons. The furniture is old and the chair and foot rest was really old and worn. I requested towels and wash cloths 3 times and never received them. The elevator that was broken in some months old reviews is still broken. And we waited at least 10 minutes each time to go up or down to and from room. Worst hotel I have stayed at so far. No bugs or anything like that. So I guess thats a positive
Close it. No elevator not going to fix it. You carry your luggage up a lot of scary looking stairs. First floor looks like an apocalypse happened. YOU PAY THEM so you can use the parking lot? Handicaped cant stay . Who ever the owner is should be ashamed. How do they clean rooms ? Staff should be ashamed to work there. The ad says cheap. Not at around 150. Plus 100. Deposit you dont get back for a week or two. CLOSE IT DOWN!!!!!!!! This minute. Lobby looks nice but dont be fooled.
After booking, I was told they could charge the price of the booking at any time. I needed to reserve a room without being charged due to a major concert. I wanted to shop around so I was a bit surprised they would take a fairly standard practice and use it to anchor you in after posting your credit card. Total bait and switch. Luckily the booking website gave me up to an hour to cancel. I quickly canceled but decided to read reviews. Glad I did. This hotel sucks. Poor reviews and shady business practice.
I wish I could give this place zero starts. The elevator wasnt working, and they communicated that beforehand, to their credit. What I didnt know beforehand is that this place is so poorly managed. The staff (except for Jaz and Debbie) were so incredibly rude to me. The whole place is dirty, the internet wasnt working, the outlets in my room werent working, and my shower wasnt working. The breakfast included is equally abysmal, but I expected that much. When I asked to move rooms or complained about the conditions, they yelled at me and insisted that everything is fine. I asked for a refund and they did not agree because Other hotels in Philly are more expensive. You should know what you were getting into. They also accidentally charged me $180 after I left, so this place is shady at best.
WORST HOTEL EVER. As everyone else has posted, elevators were broken, however, the hotel didnt even offer help bringing our luggage to the room! And not to mention the stairs being treacherous and creepy. The room was so unkempt. It smelled terrible, sheets were ripped, electrical outlets separated from the walls, shower was leaking and rusty, and the best part? THE CEILING WAS FALLING APART. Literally as we sat there. We went all the way back downstairs and all we had to say was that room was disgusting . THEY DIDNT EVEN ARGUE WITH US. The lady nodded and said she understood. That sealed the deal right there. I have never experienced something so horrifying in my life. This hotel is straight from a horror film.. STAY AWAY!!!!!
My family booked a reservation for a parking spot there and when upon arriving, there were no employers available at the front desk. Only an old lady who was very rude and told us to cancel our reservation. That there was no one available to attend us or to take us to the airport. Many other customers were also arriving and the lady told them the same thing. She didn’t even ask us for our confirmation number and simply said to cancel. One of the customers got very angry also, how can there be no employer available? Isn’t this place 24 hours? We lost our flight due to this issue. There was no one available to attend us, the driver either. The old lady said to look for a parking in the airport, which was very expensive. Lost our flight. I would never recommend this place and they should close it. We also lost our money from the flight due to this.
This hotel is so classy. Im sorry. The word I was looking for was trashy. This hotel is so trashy. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT believe the photos! You will be sorely disappointed. The reviews about the one functional, but abysmally slow elevator are beyond accurate. Honestly, when we pulled into the parking lot, I thought the building was in need of being condemned. Even from a half mile away, I was hoping this wasnt the hotel we were staying in, but alas, my dreams were crushed. The water temperature is inconsistent. My kids bath was too hot and then our showers werent warm enough. We didnt have enough towels for a family of 3, despite being in a room that sleeps 4. 😒 The bathroom looked old and haphazardly refinished. The most aggravating thing is that this hotel costs more than a Wyndham located in a better area of town. Let my awful experience be a lesson to all of you to make sure your spouse reads the previous reviews before booking a room. This locations ONLY saving grace was the staff. They were very nice. The hotel however, was not.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!If I could give this hotel a negative 100 I would! I traveled to Philadelphia on June 1st and had the misfortune of staying at this awful, run-down, mildew-smelling, bug-infested, dirty hotel. First, The elevators did not work and we were given a disgusting room on the 6th floor. We walked up 6 flights of stairs with our luggage only to find that the room did not have a working air conditioner (in 80 degree weather). We were then moved to another horrible room on the 9th floor and I was greeted by a nasty critter crawling on the bed. Management refused to do anything about my complaints and refused to refund my money. Do not be fooled by the photos. The rooms look nothing like what is posted. This is not a 3 star hotel!!!
I wish I could give 0 stars. I did their airport parking, they continue to book people even though their entire parking lot is double parked. Its an absolute mess. The shuttle service is a joke, I waited for 50 minutes at the airport and ended up needing to take a uber back.
If I could give this hotel zero stars, I would. Do not stay here. The toilet was running, the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned. Went to take a shower and the shower head did not work. Tried to use the bath water instead and ended up having to wash my hair in the sink because the drain was so clogged in the bath, it would not drain. Most of the outlets did not work, there was also food left all over one of the beds. Someone was smoking weed and smelled up the entire floor. And to top it off, a pipe busted in the hallway and ended up flooding into our hotel room and all of my familys things were soaked. When I walked down stairs to talk to the manager, the water was leaking through the ceilings and I was told the manager was at home and would not be able to help us until the morning. If youve ever seen the movie Just Married, the hotel in Italy, this felt like the same experience. We are currently waiting for the neighbors to bust through the wall having sex.
It wasnt terrible, but the staff are under paid and you hear about it. Not everything works, and there is no cold water coming out of faucet fixtures. Showers can get too hot pretty fast with no way to add cold. The staff are really nice and work hard, but theyre underappreciated and you can tell by the general feel from the management and staff. They do have a nice enough bar and are right across the street from the best diner. All in all, I wont complain about my stay because Ive seen way worse hotels and motels.
If I could give less stars I would. My boyfriend and I stayed here because we were drunk and it was convenient and cheap last minute. The elevators don’t work STILL and we were on the 12th floor. The stairs are scary and smell like piss and there’s mice in the stairwell. The sheets were disgusting and the bathroom ceiling was leaking. The room looked nothing like the pictures. The floor was gross and the room smelled like mold. Staff was friendly and nice but there was no free breakfast like the promised.
A lot of things werent working. No working elevator, The toilet wouldnt flush because the handle broke, The Air conditioning didnt work at all. i was drenched in sweat just sitting in the hotel room. the hallway was always way cooler than our room. Found two meth pipes behind the bed, will not be going back. Just dont go here, it is the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. only 1 working outlet in the room also. Next time ill just sleep in my car. Only ice machine i could find didnt work
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The pictures are so deceiving online DO NOT STAY HERE. Spend a little more and go somewhere that actually knows what customer service is. The elevator is broken so after a long day we had to walk up 8 flights of stairs!!! The bathroom has not been cleaned in who knows how long, and the AC is broken. I’ve never stayed anywhere worse than this. I will be calling management this is ridiculous.
Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed! The website is very misleading. Elevators out of order. First room was smoke filled, could not breathe. Second room had NO toilet paper,NOT even pillow cases on the pillows which were stained yellow and had holes in them. Mold in tub, hair in bathroom sink. Phone did not work. Poorly lit parking lot. Very creepy stairwell. Slamming doors to stairs kept us awake all night long. No fridge. Nio hotel bar, unreliable shuttle service. Holes in walls. Doors not shutting properly to womens bathroom. Bathrooms were filthy. I cant think of one positive thing. You get 1 star simply cuz I cant leave none. Your charging for services you are NOT providing!!!have left multiple messages for Manager to call...thinking this is not going to happen.
This place is getting 3 stars because the hotel was not well kept. The rooms were clean, though. The look of the hotel looked old and there was no pretty landscape but it was a good enough one night. I didnt use the shower but it looked clean. There was no safe and no fridge. There was a $10 charge for bringing a car. This place was really close to Lincoln Financial Field, Wells Fargo, and Citizens Bank. Maybe 1.5 miles. The elevator was very slow. The one elevator was out of service. The stairs were dark and creepy. Depends on the things you actually care about but I would probably stay there again.
STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!! How can a place like this even call themselves a business? From the smell to the non cleanliness. Elevator hasn’t worked for a long time and even the desk guy said” didn’t u check our reviews”??? WTH??? Everyone takes the fire stairs to access rooms... carpets falling apart.... 2x4 wood to keep a door closed. No parking for guests.... this place needs a bulldozer.... oh and got overcharged for the room and still can’t get the money credited back.... find a cardboard box or stay in your car...
DO NOT STAY HERE! I would give this hotel 0 stars if it was an option. I booked the hotel because of its location to the stadiums and did not realize what a dump it was. It reminds me of a haunted hotel. Just from the outside you can tell that it is not well kept, it is very dirty and the curtains are all greenish brown from the outside. Walking in, it is not any better. The elevator does not work, the carpets are all ripped up, the wall paper is falling off the walls, there is an awful stench and it is difficult to find the rooms. We did not even make it to look at our rooms because we were so grossed out just from the journey into the hotel and searching for our room. A refund was given and we went and stayed at the Hilton by the air port. It was a much better choice and only cost a little bit more. It is worth the uber ride to stay ANYWHERE else but at the Penrose.
We stayed here for about 20 minutes, after climbing 7 flights of stairs in stairwells that smell like something died, you enter your room to find the bathroom covered in filth, and some extra hair under the sheets to keep you warm. Stripped the sheets back to find spots all over the mattress. Definitely skip it.
Let me start off by saying this was one of my worst hotel experiences. We arrive to a noticably rude staff who seemed to be overwhelmed by the 5 people in line. After receiving the room keys i went up into the bathroom and tried using the shower which did not work. I called down and after being on hold for 5 minutes they ended the call. Once I finally contacted them they told me to pull the handle instead of sending someone up to find out the problem. I didnt want to pull their knob off and break Their shower so they finally agreed to allow me to switch rooms. After getting the second room we open the door and it couldnt shut behind us. I had to push my shoulder into the door to get it shut because the door was leaning out of the frame. By that time I had enough and just decided to let it go since the concert was starting soon. I will not be staying at this hotel again and I definitely do not recommend it unless youre desperate.
Parking is an additional charge. The room is super average not great not terrible. Bring your own pillow and febreze. Awesome view from 5th floor, but the window completely opens...sketch. They are in the middle of a remodel. Good for broke young adult only staying 1 night.
The reviews for this hotel dont lie. Its awful, unprofessional and unforgiving. The staff is the only thing thats decent, and you can tell they are frustrated too. Our room had a broken picture frame with glass on the floor, when we checked in! The towel rack broke apart while we were out on the town. The towels were scratchy and itchy, but Im delighted to say they seemed clean enough. The kicker was the 10$ daily parking thats hard to notice, and that our experience was that of an uncontrollable fire alarm going off for an hour the first night, and nearly three the second. This may not be a trend, but it was enough to ruin our weekend, and send us packing. Better luck to you if you try and sleep here.
Hotel is very outdated and needs to be kept up better.WARNING DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!When we arrived we were asked for our credit card. It was not until AFTER the front desk attendant had ALREADY swiped our card did she tell us we were going to see a $100 charge on the card and that it would only be refunded if they didnt find any damage to the room after checkout. We noticed the bedding along the bottom of the bed was stained. We brushed it off because the sheets and blankets were fine. The phone and blow dryer in the room were yellowing as if they were really old. A lot of the outlets in the room didnt work. The TV remote also didnt work.I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and saw a cockroach. I was completely grossed out. And saw another one the following morning too.We checked out after 2 nights. We come back home and they let us know that they are keeping our $100 deposit because they found DAMAGE in the room. I call BS! We were so careful because we wanted our money back. They wouldnt even tell us what specific damage there was. Conclusion: DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!
Check in was good. Nice check in staff. Downhill from there. Only (1) one working elevator for hotel guests. The wait for an elevator was long and frustrating. Two (2) towels two (2) washcloths for the weekend stay for 2 Adults. I had to clean the toilet before I used it. Looked grudgy. The room had a ladybug infestation. I closed the curtains and put the AC on that evening. In the morning I opened the curtains and there were dead bugs all over the windowsill behind the heavy curtains. Disgusting and dirty tables in the diningroom. We had to clean a table ourselves in order to eat. All were all dirty. Breakfast was cold, one bite made me nauseous. The coffee was horrible. Stopped into the NJ Turnpike rest area for breakfast. Check out- Nobody was behind the desk. Lots of waiting fellow guests saying is there anyone working here? I wont be returning to the Penrose Hotel. You get what you pay for. It really sucked.
Its a place to sleep and the staff is pretty good! The rooms are relatively clean but slightly dingy. Its as if theyre trying to update the hotel with a fresh coat of paint and accent a few pieces; no actual renovations. The air unit in our room was dirty, the phone didnt work, the beds were smaller than expected, the shower head only had one poor setting, you have to pay to park per night per car, the towels are super abrasive, the elevators do take a while. However, the staff is so nice and do their best to work with you and accommodate you anyway they can, the place is like a 15 min walk from the Oregon subway station, Lyft to and from downtown is pretty affordable, awesome view of the city, pretty nice diner across the street and the continental breakfast is decent.Overall, this isnt a hotel Id stay in if I was going to be hanging in a hotel most of my stay or have to keep coming back to throughout the day. Its ideal if you just need a clean, safe and quiet place to sleep and have a free meal/breakfast.
Its gross. Elevators dont work. Room was on ninth floor. Room was OK. Everything is worn out. Building should be condemned. That said, if you like that thing its fun. My buddies and I explored the other halls and rooms on abandoned floors. It was great fun. Also, anyone can just walk onto the roof so that was cool too. Bad hotel, great adventure spot.
These reviews are awful! The hotel is obviously not a 5 star hotel but we had no problem. The staff was great,THE ELEVATOR WORKS, they are remodeling so I guess maybe some people got a not remodeled room. I dont know if the showers had warm water or not but the hot water is definitely flowing into the toilet so thats probably a problem. We went to see a Phillies game and it was a great distance from everything
Not sure if I would ever go back. To start the hotel only had one working elevator and it took 5-10 minutes just to reach one floor. If you have a disability of any kind I do not recommend staying here. The stairwell in the hotel doesnt even lead to the first floor it leads to outside. The room at first glance was alright but the walls were decaying by the window and the shower had inconsistent water temperature. Overall if youre okay with climbing 2-15 flights of stairs and you arent planning on staying in the room very much its tolerable.
If you’re lucky enough to read this review before checking in to this hotel, you are luckier than I was when I let a friend of mine book this hotel for us. The The carpet is coming up in multiple areas, there are stains on the walls and floors, the elevator was broken when we got there and had to walk up nine flights of stairs to our room. In our room there was water damage on the walls and ceiling, our bathroom door was coming off of its hinges, the entire place smelled like mold and our toilet wouldn’t shut off. It was only after this experience that I decided to look up reviews on another website and found actual pictures of actual bedbugs on multiple accounts. Needless to say we decided not to spend the night at this hotel. I don’t know if it’s a problem with management or general lack of care but this is one place in desperate need of an earthquake.
I wish I was able to put negative 5 stars. Ava,who stated she was the manager on Monday night gave extremely poor customer service. We arrived with all our luggage and attempting to check in with our reservation. Ava states that we re on the 9th floor, however the only working elevator is not working. We asked is there any way we could have a lower floor considering all our luggage. We were just arriving from a flight so we were a little disappointed but we weren’t expecting Ava to suggest that she can cancel our reservation. It was after 10pm at night and instead of being understanding about the elevator malfunction, she gave us attitude. While she had our credit card to place the security deposit on card she snaps and says,” I refuse service to you!” Another person asked us what’s wrong and he explained that the elevator is always not working. That the elevator is an ongoing huge inconvenience. Sadly, we had to find another place to stay. They refunded us our funds also. She should not be workin the front desk at any establishment.
Do not stay here, this hotel does not even deserve 1 star. I paid $167 on a Saturday night. To start with, neither the shower nor the elevator worked and the bathroom fan falling out of the ceiling caused debris to fall on the floor. Then the fire alarm went off at random intervals from1:45 to 3:10 in the morning apparently it was the second night this happened. The manager would not issue anyone a refund at 3:20 am. Now Im getting the run around while I try to get a refund. Do not waste your time, sleep or money on this place!
To begin with, the hotel was overbooked so we saw people get turned away while waiting in line to check in. We were not as lucky. After checking in, we were notified that both elevators were out of service and that our room was on the 9th floor. Mind you, the room arrangement was nothing like what I requested when I booked so Im not sure how I wound up walking all the way up to THAT particular room.Overall, the place is dirty and somewhat dilapidated. The inconvenience of our sleeping arrangement and the lack of elevators alone was bad enough, but I wouldnt come back just based on how dumpy this place was.
This place was excellent! Don’t know why it wasn’t booked out during the play offs. I stayed here last year and it wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. Sure the floors were abit dirty. But the staff was great he boiled me hot water. The lift worked. And maybe I had the one room that was clean.
I used the hotel for their airport parking feature. Ive parked here for (2) trips longer than 3-days. Check-in is smooth and the desk personnel has been courtesy. The van has been alright, but a bit slow at times. Pick-up has been better than drop off. For the price would park here again.
Stayed here for a half marathon. We arrived to find out that the elevators were broken, and we were on the 12th floor. There was hair in the bed and our clothes wreaked of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. They offered us 20% off the bill for the broken elevator though. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant is good for the price.
If I could give this place negative stars I would. They screwed up our reservation and wouldnt fix it. There was no place to park. I had to wait 1 hour to find a spot to park o that wasnt a spot. They sell parking to non guests. They didnt have the room we wanted and refused to refund. They were rude and extremely disrespectful at the front desk. The elevator was broken and we had to ride the service elevator. The room looked like it was serviced last in the 1970s. The outlets didnt work in our room. The only ice machine in the building was downstairs. And it took us over an hour to check it. F--
Worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Out dated. Wasn’t lit up at night so we drove right past it at first. Run down. Smelled awful. The elevators were terrifying. The room was dirty. Only a few channels worked on the tv. Shower didn’t work. The entire floored reeked of pot. And I mean reeked. Not just a vague “I wonder if someone is having a good time” kind of smell. A “if I stand in the hall long enough I’ll have a good time” smell.Could not pay me to stay here again. Only plus is that it was cheap and close to CHOP.If I could give no stars, I would.
You want to avoid this hotel and airport parking lot at all costs. The parking isnt worth the dollar or two youll save a day. I recently booked a parking reservation only to arrive and be confronted by a very rude lady saying the lot was full and she wasnt going to honor the reservation. I asked if I could wait until the shuttle arrived and maybe a spot would be free. She told me NO and if I didnt leave shed call the police. Mind you I paid for the reservation in advance. You also have to wait a long time for the shuttle, no matter if youre departing or arriving. Now as for the Hotel...its a hot scary mess! Ive witnessed people check in only to immediately return to the lobby in tears asking for a refund. Penrose Hotel and Penrose Hotel airport parking is one big RIPOFF that youd want to avoid!
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Elevator was broken and looks like it has been for a long time, and only available rooms they had were a king on the 8th or 2 doubles on the 5th. We chose the king and boy did I regret my decision when we had to climb 8 flights in a rundown staircase for crackheads. The shower was awful, I had to have my boyfriend pull on it with all his strength to get the water running. The breakfast was decent although the eggs were distasteful. As we were checking out it appeared that they may have been working on fixing the elevators. Our room was overall clean, some paint chipping off the wall by the ceiling but nothing bad other than that.
This hotel is only really good for a bed. There is nothing great about it. When you walk in, out looks like its been renovated recently, but not very well. Only one of the elevators were working and the one that did work was extremely slow. The rooms had nice furniture, but the bones of the room was disgusting. Water stains in the ceiling and walls, feces traces on the toilet, dirty shower with soap scum all over. The only good thing about the hotel is that it was close to a place to get to go beers.
The elevators werent working so you had to walk up cement steps. Water fountain in lobby out of order. Went to bathroom and one was out of order and when trying to flush my urinal it didnt flush. At desk when being checked in the lady behind counter was more interested in everyone else instead on finishing my transaction. Why the 100 dollar deposit? I will never ...ever stay here again. The score of 1 is too high for this place.
Dont even want to give 1star. Worst hotel ever and the service is ridiculously horrid. Upon checking in, we were sent to a room that wasnt even cleaned, then got a clean room with a toilet that wouldnt flush, no towels and were told there was no washcloths. The lady at the front desk was absolutely miserable and the most unfriendly person Ive ever come in contact with. We will never stay here again, not even if they paid me!
Ok. So. When I booked my room I looked at reviews from the site I booked from. Said it was a decent 3 star hotel. The pictures looked nice and for the price I figured that was what I would get. We drove hours and hours to get here, walked in and it seemed ok. There isnt really a lobby, it goes almost straight to the bar area. We were put on the 8th floor, then told the elevators dont work. So we had to lug all of our luggage up to the 8th floor by steps. That was fun. The bath tub is missing culking, has rust on the bottom, not to mention in the lobby bathroom I killed a huge cockroach. However, everyone is super nice, the room is decently clean, parking isnt bad, and its walking distance from some of the sites. Definitely not worth 150 though.
My husband and I stayed here with our 1 yr old daughter. Mind you I slept with 1 eye open and forbid my daughter from touching anything. The room smelled musty, our heat and a/c vent was half hanging on the floor, stains on the floor and toilet, other guests hair in the shower! Mind you we booked the room for 2 adults and a child and we got a room with a twin mattress! The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the other rooms. Only 1 working elevator for the whole building. The room cards also did not work so be cautious. Twice my husband had to run to the car and each time he came back our room key did not work and I had to let him in. If we did not have plans for the next day in the city I would have made a midnight trip back home.. hotel staff was friendly though. Could get better ratings if they did some much needed maintenance/remodeling
It was better than I expected but not perfect. The front desk ladies were very nice and helpful and the lobby was in good shape. The mistake was in picking the 14th floor. The views were great but only one of the two elevators were running and the one was very slow during normal day hours. Two of the three ice machines did not work. Only the one on the 5th floor worked and I had to walk to it. The room was average with a very nice desk and chair. The shower however is a little outdated with bad water pressure as well. I appreciated the complimentary breakfast. Overall I thought it was decent for the price I paid. Convenient for attending the sporting events.
Clean comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Short drive to the airport. Hotel provides shuttle service that runs every one half hour. You can park your car there at very reasonable rates. On return, they drop you and your bags right at your car. Watch your time though. Trip to airport takes about 4 or 5 minutes but with traffic at the departure gates it can be 10 minutes. If you get there right after a shuttle leaves, you can be 40 minutes until you get to your gate.
I give this hotel no stars because it was the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. The service is the worst... From the time that I checked in, until check out assistance from the front desk was non-existent. Out of the three elevators only one was working. The lounge had limited selection of drinks and small kids were sitting inside. No one answered the phone when you call for information from your room. The staff is very unprofessional except for the housekeeping staff. Because its a park and fly, it was very difficult to find a parking space in the parking lot. The so called breakfast food seemed to be stale or old... And alot of undesirables hang out in the lobby as well as in front of the entrance. I will never stay at this hotel again and would advise others to stay away as well! They need to jus implode the entire building or turn it into a homeless shelter!
I stay at Penrose hotel yesterday with my family, horrible idea.. Its a dirty place the housekeeper need to improve with the cleaning. I found a underwear in the bathroom from another guest. everything its so old, the carpet smell so bad, there more water outside on the floor from the bathtub than inside. some of the plugs doesnt work. I reserved for a double queen beds but they gave me a full bed. And the elevator takes forever to go up and down. the whole building need to get improve. the only good thing I had was a great view of the stadium from my window.
Worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. Dirty and not very well maintained. There was black mold growing on the bathroom ceiling, the drywall behind the toilette was rotting away and the floor looks like it had not been vacuumed in about a year. On top of that the elevator did not work (my room was on the 8th floor) and their airport shuttle van was broken.Do not stay here, its not worth the health risk.EDIT: I reported the shuttle issue to Expedia, who promptly called the hotel to do some research on it. The person there pretty much lied to them about it being out of commission. This place is very badly run.
This hotel is a dump, they say they are renovating but its still not worth the $135 to stay there. Here are the reasons why.1.Included breakfast is very small and is something you can get at a gas station.2.Elevator is really slow and only one works3.The rooms are outdated with holes in the carpet, mold in the shower, old window a/c units, and really thin walls. Not to mention its next to the highway so traffic noise is horrendous.4.The parking lot is very sketchy and I was scared my car was going to get stolen.
Only nice thing I can say was it was close to the airport so our commute to our morning flight was not bad. They have an airport shuttle that leaves every 30 mins so we arrived on time. However aside from that.. it was not all great. The room was smelly, the bathroom was somewhat clean, only issue there was the shower. I had to call the front desk to figure out how to turn it on, as I kept pulling on the knob and was advised by the front desk clerk to pull hard, very hard no worries wont break I felt like the entire tubing was going to come out of the wall. Breakfast was continental other places that Ive been too offered the same and I was greeted with waffles, fruit. Not at this place, prepare yourself for milk, juice, cereal and toast or a muffin. And they do not play, at the strike of 10am.. they advise you breakfast is over you can not even go get anything from the counter.
I want to start by saying that the Penrose is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been in, and I’m not exaggerating. We are from Iowa and we had no idea the condition of this place as the reviews and the pictures were very misleading. We checked in July 1st and tried to go up to our floor, only to find out the elevator was not working without personnel. They had a guy working the elevator that appeared to be high as he smelled strongly of weed. To make the situation even more sketchy, the door and ceiling of the elevator were bare, wires and everything exposed, and it did not at all seem safe. When we got to our room, we opened the door only to be hit with a strong scent of cigarette smoke, seeping from the carpet. The room was dim and had minimal furniture, constrasting the pictures online. There was dry wall dust (or something unknown) coating the floor boards throughout the entire room and the trim was the extended carpet, which looked super trashy. The furniture was broken and cracked. The room did not seem clean in the slightest and we were hesitant to sit on any of the limited furniture present in the room. When we went down to the lobby we decided to take the stairwell as we would have to call down to take the hazardous elevator- the stairwell smelled like urine and felt like we were waking down to our deaths. I honestly can not believe this place is still operational. We called and complained and got refunded after spending hours on the phone with Expedia- the worst experience with a hotel EVER! I would not even let my animals stay in this place. Absolutely terrible.
My Husband has deployed 6 times, spent a total of 8 years deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq (been shot at, near blow ups, etc....) and would not spend 20 minutes at this hotel. Called me as soon as he got there and said that we would not stay there. If you park there do not leave anything that you care about in your car. He took pics of the walls that had stuff that looked like bodily smears (boogers, blood, brain matter, who knows). If you enjoy living, do not stay here.
Do yourself a favor, look somewhere else. As stated numerous times previously, elevators are inoperable. We were booked on the 9th floor. Yes we took the lovely escalating concrete emergency stairs up to our room. Make sure to bring water on the ascent. Its a hike. Lactic acid lobby must be strong in Philly killing the need for elevators. No pain, no gain. The a/c is run my hamsters on wheels that arent well lubricated. I guess what Im trying to say is, just dont. Dont do it. Dont book it. Youre still reading.....dont you dare book it.
Would give zero stars if possible. Booked weeks in advance and was never notified that upon arrival the elevators weren’t working. And apparently haven’t worked for over a month. The hotel was beyond run down with water damage and just dirty. Got into our room on the 5th floor and immediately noticed the toilet didn’t flush and the grime in the shower. Was told they would move us to another room on the 3rd floor. Went down the stairs with all of our luggage and got key cards for our “new” room. THEY GAVE US A ROOM ALREADY BEING OCCUPIED!!! Walked into the room and the tv was on and clothes all over the place. Like are you joking? UNBELIEVABLE!!! Went all the way back downstairs and they gave us yet another key card for another room on the 3rd floor. The rooms were just not clean feeling at all. Bathroom still had a soap bar in it from the people before us and we found a bed bug trap near the side of the bed!!!! Would absolutely never stay here again, even just for a drunken night stay with friends. Only thing nice was the (rightfully so) apologetic front desk staff.
Unlike what most people have said, the elevator is working again (there are 3 elevators total, 2 are broken but one is functional). Staff were very nice, my only issue was the person who was checking us in told us we would have to put down a $100 deposit which wasnt a problem, but when they swiped our card they charged us $500 and said they were incidental fees but would be returned to us in 14 days (still praying they do. We got $100 back but still waiting on $400). Also, we rented the room for 2 nights on Expedia 4 months ago, but they couldnt find our information. So not only did we pay about $80 for each night, we also payed $400 for god knows what. Tbh Id say make sure you bring your reciept and call ahead to make sure everything is ok. And Im not sure if they take cash or not, but if you ask and they do, thats the way to pay. Our room was good, water was hot, very clean. It was on the 4th floor. 2/3 lights in the bedroom werent working because the bulbs were blown out. Housecleaning was good and they made sure we had enough towels and clean sheets. I cant say the same for all rooms but from my view, we had a good time.
First we booked online and put credit card info in and we get there to be told you don’t pay online so why did I put my card in? Second the pictures look nothing like the hotel. Very unsanitary and run down. Holes in walls and water leaking onto the floor. Someone definitely needs to do something about this hotel. Also front desk was not helpful at all. Didn’t want to help my friend and I with the card issue so I gave them a different card. Also we were told we would get a discount and I was stupid ol charged the same price. (Not that I care, just way too overpriced for such a poor living condition) I will never stay there again.
The hotel itself is in shambles with an elevator that I have never seen working, but the airport parking situation is a nightmare. Even if you have a reservation, you may not get a spot! And when you call to get the shuttle to pick you up, youll be lucky if they show up at all. I waited over an hour, with every call I made to the shuttle either unanswered or told that they would be there soon. Unprofessional and infuriating!!
We used the Penrose hotel as a shuttle service to the Philadelphia International Airport. The hotel has 1 shuttle that goes back and forth every 30 minutes. After waiting for over 45 minutes for the shuttle service and calling the hotel multiple times, the shuttle went straight by us. We have children and babies that have been waiting outside for over 1 hr now. We called the shuttle driver and the shuttle was completely unaware that someone was waiting outside and hung up on us. When calling back the hotel and asking why the driver was unsure that he was picking up passengers, the rude hotel staff told us I dont know what to tell you. Do NOT use this hotel as your transportation because they are unreliable and rude.
We rented a room from the Penrose Hotel on June 4, 2018 and the customer service was very nice, but it had an old smell which I was able to ignore. Once we got to our room we went to turn on our t.v. and the remote didnt have any batteries, we had a half of roll of tissue. While we were laying down we noticed that the mattress protector had like green candy all over it. Like I stated prior the customer service was good, but I probably wont ever book with them again and I wont be recommending them.
There were bodily fluid stains on the carpet. And it smelled like cigarettes and weed through the whole building (besides the creepy staircase which smelled like a litter box). Yep the elevators still didnt work which didnt bother me, it was the tub which wouldnt drain, and the water damage coming through the ceiling, and the stained mattresses, and the attitude of the front desk attendant when we asked for a different room, then asked for a refund when the new room was just as bad. There is paper covering the windows of every room, and a piece of 2x4 and a chair wedging a common area door shut like they were trying to keep zombies from breaking out. Regardless of not getting a refund from the hotel, we decided to spend the night somewhere else
Never judge a book by its cover except when youre staying at the Penrose then judge immediately from the parking lot. Trust your intuition on this one. The elevator was broken but after reading reviews it looks like the elevator has never worked a day. That sounds similar to the cleaning staff. Have they ever worked a day? We checked in but our room wasnt ready at 4:00. Our friends room was ready though on the second floor so the hike up the creepy stairwell wasnt awful. After returning from stuffing our faces with cheesesteaks our room was ready but on the 9th floor and not a king bed as requested but double beds. My legs turned into butter as i hiked up the creepy stairs. We were given a dirty room complete with beds that were slept in, dirty towels on the bathroom floor, and leftover food. We went back down the 9 flights and asked for a new room. The hostess at the desk was very polite and apologetic. So then we were given a room on the 10th floor it looked cleaner but we realized this room belonged to someone else! We demanded the hotel cancel our room. We ended up crashing with our other friend who was staying on the 15th floor the best hike of all.
WARNING..Stay away...Worst Hotel ever.. looks like an apartment building inside and out. Hard to find a parking spot. Only one way out of the building from your rooms. In case of fire🔥 good luck getting out. Rusty dirty bathtub, cracked toilet seat. I used my friends room next door to shower because mine had only super hot water. Little running water in sink. Rooms smells bad, we all checked the beds for bugs. Hope you are in shape to go up the stairs, elevator has not worked in a long long time.
The worse ever and I want a refund. My head has been hurting since I entered the building ganga and cigarette smell take over2. I had a elderly man with us and we had to take him to up the three flights to the 3rd floor. The bed lumpy like cornmeal porridge5. The sheet them bad coloured. The staff has an elevator that they used and no quest is allowed to use it even if they cannot walk6.not even a spoon of water7. Never been to prison but the door them slam like a prison door I believe8. The stairway scaryMe want back my money.I tried to relocate but everywhere was full.Good staff quite pleasant.I think the building is not safe and needs to be examine for all the hazards possible before someone gets hurt
Where do I start? Housekeeping staff moved our belongings from the beds to drawers or stuffed into our luggage. All of our luggage was piled on top of each other. All of this despite a Do Not Disturb sign in the door. Room not ready until 7pm the day off check in. Did not get the room we ordered. Only one SLOW elevator working. Stairs were disgusting, so we waited for the elevator. Crack in ceiling by window let in wind and highway noise. Had to use force to close room door properly. Bathroom fan LOUD and disgusting, and barely worked. Of course, I left something of value in this crappy hotel. I called for over a week asking staff to check the lost and found. They kept telling me the Housekeeping Manager had to check and that he was not available, out sick, etc. When my husband finally got a hold of the manager a week later, she was completely rude to him and hung up on him. Oh, we prepaid, yet they still charged our credit card. We caught it at check out and they reimbursed the charges. I could go on and on. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
Room was clean. Literally everything else was a disappointment. Elevator broken and the building is a narrow tower. Wifi was spotty and the front desk never answered the phone when I called to see why it was down. Had to use a hot spot with my phone to send a quick work email. The neighborhood is basically an underpass of multiple highways.
Its extremely dirty. The outside looks like it should be condemned! Pretty much everything is out of order. The sink leaked, the ceiling above the shower leaked, the one towel in the room was dirty as was the floors and just about everything else!! Its definitely one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed at!!
Worst Hotel booking ever!We paid for a room and checked in, upon returning after dinner, we found our door cracked open and occupied by at least 5 employees partying hard, same ones that were working on the exterior hotel renovations. No explanation for people being allowed into our room, with our personal belongings. NEVER AGAIN, currently enjoying a 3 hour drive home, instead of the hotel bed and hotel room we were already charged for! DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!
If I could give this place no stars I would. My husband and I booked this place for a spontaneous trip to Philly. When we got there around 7 p.m. there was a lobby full of people waiting for their rooms. So our room wasnt ready, the elevator was broken; we had to walk up 6 flights of stairs, the room looked like it had mold in corners, the shower water was so hot couldnt control the temperature and the toilet broke in the middle of the night. Honestly no travel site should have this place as an option, it wasnt worth the money we spent to stay there.
I just called and tried to rent a room for the night and when I asked if there was any availability for the night I was told they were replacing the TVs so there was no TVs and the hot water heater was busted so they could give a discount on the room……. Instead of $160 a night they are charging $140 a night for no tv and no hot water! $20 discount!!!!! This place is a joke and deserves to be shut down ASAP!
The entrance door did not work. Stand outside in the cold for a while with an infant and a 12 years old, until someone walked out. In order to enter the receptionist area.Lady at the receptionist counter was rude! I had reserved a double twin bed for 2 nights, claimed i only had 1 night even though i showed her the itenerary. Told me there is only 1 room left with a king bed. If i dont want it... to leave. I booked with expedia, she said, she dont care. That i didnt book it with the hotel. I demanded a manager, told me she is the manager and that there is no one else to talk to. I ask for her name. Refuse to give me her name. Gave me papers and said sign it. Not telling me what im signing or how much the hotel is holding as a deposit. Told me i dont know how to read!!! That she shouldnt have to explain to me what im signing.I came in at 7pm stood there till 8pm. Still didnt get a room. I called the police while she was giving me a hard time. Made a report. My kids standing there cold. It was late. I just wanted my kids to be warm and cozy. Finally got a room a little after 8pm. Put everything down. There was a HUGE DEAD BUG the size of my thumb on the sheets. Bed sheet wasnt change. It was disgusting. We ran out the room. I called expedia for a refund. Its now under review
A group of friends and I planned an entire day of going to Phillies game, going out then staying at the Penrose to round out our day. Everything was good until we actually got to the hotel. This place doesnt look anything like the pictures. If i could compare it to anything it would be the tower of terror from Disney. We walked in and the people in front of us in line were trying to get something sorted out and I assume the lady at the front desk didnt want to deal with it because she hid in the back for 15 minutes. During this time many other people accumulated in the lobby and everyone was very frustrated. She told everyone that there were no rooms available but one room on the 10th floor which did not have a working sink. She said there was 56 over bookings! Keep in mind he elevators were out and have been for quite some time. People were making the track down from their rooms to complain about things like the shower not working or that it was dirty. This place needs to be shut down immediately and be leveled. but its running itself to the ground anyway. DO NOT STAY HERE! Even if the rooms were $20 id rather sleep with the homeless outside.
Terrible service. Women at the front desk was rude and very unhelpful. The hotel overbooked despite the fact that I had reserved the room a week prior, and the women didn’t even say sorry for the inconvenience. NOTHING. If you can avoid going here, don’t go! Chances are you won’t even get the room you booked even if you do it DAYS in advanced.
Dirty, floor was not vacuumed, it had crumbs and change all over the floor. The furniture was covered in dust. My pillow was on the floor with no pillow case. This is at check in! Had a nice view and was close to the city but they need to fire some house keeping employees. Saw the reviews and thought it could not be that bad but they lived up to their reputation.
Absolutely horrible costumer service. I was in the hotel for a maximum of 5minutes. The hotel is in horrible condition, multiple hazards everywhere, rooms are dirty and walls have cracks running through them. Requested a refund after not staying as we booked through a third party just to be offered excuses and nothing. Constantly being told there is no manager. If I could give 0 stars I would.
This place is absolutely filthy! I’m surprised the city hasn’t shut them down yet. Obviously no one from the department of health has stepped foot inside this place. We stayed one night and you couldn’t pay me to go back. The first room we were offered was terrible. No one has cleaned a single thing in this building in quite a long time. I’m surprised the bed was even made but they def did not change or clean the sheets. The second room wasn’t any better. If it was up to me I would have changed hotels before even getting the whole way into the lobby. There was hair on the pillows, pubes in the bed and someone blew a load in the bedside table. Housekeeping didn’t even close the drawer let alone clean it up. I’ve posted a lot of reviews and haven’t heard from anyone at this establishment. It’s pretty bad when a staff member at a local restaurant refers to your hotel as “the place where people usually find their family members if they are strung out on drugs and missing”. This place should be shut down and the building demolished. No amount of renovations could fix this place.
We bought our ticket through a hotel finder website that claimed parking was free and we were getting some deal on the room, plus free breakfast and free wifi. Plus the room was cheap, which sounded good to me.When we got there, they put a hold of $100 additional dollars to your credit card to ensure that you dont damage the room that took 10 business days to come off. They charge $10 for parking per night, even though the website said otherwise. They refused to honor anything our website deal said, and told us to just throw out our printed agreement from trivago (or whatever travel site we used). The person at the counter had no patience for me and was clearly unhappy to be there. They only had 1 elevator that was extremely slow, with no stair access to just walk it yourself. The hotel room itself was uncomfortable. The walls were so thin I could clearly hear peoples conversations and smell their cigarette smoke. The telephone did not work, the wires were frayed and the buttons picked out. The hair dryer was rusty in the bathroom and the towels were rough, tiny, and had zero fluff to them. When I tried to open a drawer, the handle fell off. There were cigarette burns in the carpet despite it being a no smoking room. I took pictures and showed the consierge so that we would not be charged for the damage and she apathetically said she knows and unless we want another room, thats it. She did assure me we wouldnt be charged for that stuff and we werent. The wifi was really slow and barely usable, but I guess thats because everyone else was trying to use it at the same time. We were so uncomfortable in this place that when we went to our business meeting in the morning we took everything of value with us in a backpack because we didnt trust the room service or the guests. When we tried to find the free breakfast we were disappointed to find a tray of warm fake yellow egg mix and cereal. Maybe we just missed the good stuff? I thought I saw someone walk around with a muffin. The only reason we booked this hotel is because of a lack of forsight on our part, being in a rush, and trying to be cheap. They will charge you an additional $100 anyway, so you might as well pony up the cash for a better hotel you can actually relax in and maybe even enjoy.
Hotel is based at a food location with easy access to the city centre, airport and many other locations. As expected the hotel is nothing to rave about but expected for the price paid. Hotel staff are polite and friendly. Rooms are good sizes for the cost with fridges available in most rooms. Downsides to the stay was that the air conditioning units are very noisy even on low settings, only one lift was working so going up/down can take 10 minutes or so, the ice machines were broken on every floor. The general condition of the rooms and hotel was poor/acceptable but as above its expected for the price paid. To put it one way the entire hotel could do with a refurb.
We were just there for parking. The staff at the desk was very nice during check in. However I personally would NEVER stay there. The elevator was out of order and while we waited for the air port shuttle, it smelled like a gas leak. The shuttle driver not as pleasant.
Overall our expectations were not high, but when we got to the hotel we learnt that the elevator was not working. Luckily, we were on the 3rd floor but some unlucky souls had to climb the staircase to get to the higher floors... Which goes up to the 12th floor! The service staff were generally not that helpful and our floor smelled funky. Overall, 2 stars.
Where do I start? First, theres no elevator. Second, you cant drink water. Third, keys dont work so you gotta wait for the janitor to open your room. Fourth, theres a lot a stuff that need some repairs like floors, walls, furniture, etc. The only good point were the AC, the bed that was confortable and the staff that is real kind. The big problem seems to be the owner who doesnt want to take care of his hotel...
Zero stars--- This hotel is deplorable. Upon check in we were advised the elevators were not in service. We were put in room 203 which was actually 6 flights up. After smashing my head on a water wheel in the tiny, yet extremely dirty staircase while trying to open the door wide enough to get my luggage through, we get to the room which smelled horrible of smoke. None of the outlets worked. the bathroom was so disgusting that I wouldnt even take a chance using it. We got our stuff together and headed back down the dirty stairwell to check out. I informed the gentlemen at the desk of my concerns and reasons for vacating after only being there 45 minutes. He said youre checking out? i said thats correct. He told me to contact hotwire to start the refund process. I call hotwire, they have to reach out t o hotel, the woman at the hotel states that because I did not return my key card, that i stayed there. I told the woman to check her cameras ( if they even worked considering nothing else in the place did) she told me shed have to check with her manager. I asked her when i would be receiving my deposit back she said they released it at 1:15 AM. Now, why would they release it if i stayed there as they dont refund until people check out? We didnt even use a towel everything was left as is. Ive since called every single day looking to get in touch with a manager for my refund only to be told the manager isnt in until tomorrow. Every single time, I am beginning to wonder if a manager even exists? I have toll receipts proving i was not in fact at the hotel, i instead drove home to Boston because of the aggravation. My next avenue will be to dispute the credit card transaction. DO NOT STAY HERE! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!
I give 0 stars !!I stayed there 2 yrs ago and it was decent and cleanWhat happened since then it disturbingBooked the room for the park and stay while going on vacation . The first thing you see when walking in is the dirty chairs and broken elevator sign . The man at the desk barely spoke English and didn’t seem to have a clue . We were told our room was on the 9th floor and we had to carry our 45 pound suitcases up 10 flights of stairs. Hey have no service elevators !! The manger went off with 2 other guys to make sure our room was clean as he said I dont trust the housekeepers to do their job . He then came down and gave us another room ( still on the 9 th floor )No ice machines anywhere .. carpets dirty and torn up . Mold, torn shower curtains and smell of cigarette smoke . The stairs looked like a scene from a horror movie and the bed sheets were stained . I could only imagine what I’d see if I had a black light !!!Shuttle service ran late in the morning almost making other people miss their flightWe tried to book somewhere else but unfortunately everything else was sold out .They also double booked our room .. as we had random people open the door.By far the most disgusting place I have seen. The manager was decent enough to comp us some money back , but only after we complained.Sleeping on a park bench would be an upgrade.
The hotel was serviceable, but missed the small amenities you get at the National chains. Refrigerator in room, extensive tv channels, reliable Internet. The elevator was also unbearably slow and would sometimes take 5 minutes to arrive. It wasnt bad but it just was missing some small things that were noticed.
Checking was pretty quick.. the room was clean and pleasant. When I left my wallet behind in the room and called to have the room checked they claimed it wasnt there. They did kindly allow me to come back and check the room myself. In turn, I found the wallet under the pillow where I had originally left it! Overall pleasant staff, clean rooms and understanding front Desk Staff.
Pros: 15-min drive from UPenn, Drexel, school area and center of town as well as airport.Cons: checked in Saturday afternoon (yesterday) and front-desk staff was extremely discourteous. Once I was handed key cards to my room, I was waiting for the lady to give us instructions or perhaps wish us a nice stay. Nope, all I got was a thats it.Also, bathroom light did not work.During breakfast, there was only one lady working by herself and shed directly and personally answer complaints from dissatisfied guests. Granted the gentleman complaining did not express such grievances nicely, staff member should have not answered back and the fact she was quote by herself was not the fault of the guests.Furthermore, pictures online do not really resemble what the room actually looked liked.Lastly, only one elevator worked and it took about 20+ to get to our level every time, whether we were at the lobby or on our floor.Price was $150/night: in general terms Ive stayed at better-equipped, more affordable chain motels. This place is not worth $150. Would not recommend.Regards.
This hotel is old and outdated. From the moment i entered i realize the difference. The bed is so low, no microwave or fridge in the room. All the fixtures including the shower and face basin pipe. Am definitely not going back there or will i recommend anyone to go there. I wanted almost 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk so i could check out. Not to mention what they had for breakfast scrambled eggs and bread only. Officially the worst hotel Ive ever stated in....
WORST HOTEL EVER!! Do not stay here under any circumstance! The hotel is a dumb, elevators do not work, cards do not work on doors, carpets are ripped, stained, and missing! The room smelled of musty smoke even though it was non-smoking. The staircase looked like something out of a crack house! Immediately left after seeing hotel that looked liked it belongs in a horror movie! They also tried to refuse my refund for canceling, so Im going through my bank!! Trust me, do yourself a favor and dont stay here!!!
Horrible hotel. The service was terrible. The workers were so rude. The food tasted bad. There were bugs and fleas in the shower and bugs in the bed. You call this service? Expensive prices on this hotel, my god. The parking lot is a mess. I want inspection on this place, as soon as possible
If I could give this hotel negative stars I would. Personally it is all in the management as the conditions of the hotel are really out of the employees hands. When we arrived there was a sign saying that they would charge my card an additional $100 deposit which was never written anywhere during the booking process. There is also a parking fee per day. Luckily since the elevator was broken they waived all those fees. This hotel has 13 floors and the elevator has been out of order for quite some time, which they dont tell you until you check in. The ice machines were out of order and we werent made aware of it at checkin, we had to find out later when it was much too late to go back out, and climb back up to the fourth floor panting in their unbelievably muggy and disgusting stairwell. It was a terrifying walk every tkme, it looked like a prison staircase. It smelled like urine and so did the hallways. The carpets in the hallway were terrible and stained and there was a huge bleach stain right outside my door. I will say this, the room did not stink but i had to check for bed bugs. There is no clock in the rooms and basically non working wifi, no fridge or microwave, the phone and half the outlets did not work either. No toilet paper, no soap, no tissues, not even a damn pen in the room. Me and my husband made it a huge joke that everything in the hotel was broken when we asked about the ice machine and he simply said thats broke too .Continental breakfast was sub par and the floors looked like they hadnt been vacuumed. Those poor housekeepers had to walk up and down flights of stairs to do their jobs. For what I paid, I sucked it up and didnt complain because I see apparently thats gotten noone anywhere. I just wanted to see my concert, and I did so mission accomplished. Beware of this place though. Penrose hotel, where wed leave the light on for you, but thats broke too
👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎This is definitely the most worst place Ive ever stayed at in my life. Ive never stayed at a hotel this bad before. Ive stayed at motels thats in better conditions than this place. I need a full refund! I got to the MOTEL 😄 it was very late (1:20am) & there was no one at the desk for me to check in, so that was another thing I had to wait on as tired as I was. Then when the guy did return he proceeds to give me my room & tell me Im on the 12th floor & give me my room keys. Then he decided to say that the elevators were broken. Do you have any idea how I was feeling by the time I got to the room? I would NEVER stay here again! I was here for two days from Va. The shower didnt even work. Not only that, the water in the tub didnt even turn on. Luckily the sink did work. The Penrose Hotel should be completely torn down! DO NOT STAY HERE, EVER!!!!! P.S. Trust me I wouldnt even give this place one star only being that I cant post it if I dont give it something
Attended the night before the Eagles parade so things were pretty hectic. The staff was very nice however was double charged to park in their lot after being told the first charge was going to cover the event. Also only one working elevator... Was extremely slow and very crowded, ended up running down and up 15 flights of stairs after finding out my door cards didnt work. Rooms were basic, but adequate for the price of the room. Had something looking like blood stains on the one comforter. Overall experience not great and not terrible, kinda expected it going in from the other reviews
Do not go there! Unless you are used to expect nothing or very little. Photos on booking and from hotel are quite outdated and do not reflect the real state. The only thing that worked was personnel otherwise it was a ride. Ready? So first - 1 out of 3 elevators was working that day (yes there are days when none work). You might thing that is not a big deal but imagine 15 floors with average of 8 rooms each so the waiting time was about 5 min with exciding ride to every single floor, always thinking about how many revisions were skipped and how are they managing to keep this relic still functional. Second the room we got assigned had already a attendant so yes we unlock a room and walked in on a guy watching tv in his bed. After additional trip down we got new room number, this time it was empty. One card worked second didnt but I would not consider that a major issue. When you decide skip the horror ride in an elevator stairs are not much better horror dark place that is not even Yoda would feel there comfortable. Every floor door makes loud bang waking up whole floor and floor have, politely said specific odor. But back to the room door frame is tilted so it is hard to open the door and even more complicated to close them. Bed did that clean sheets and bathroom looked ok in east european standards, although nice gift was left behind gift from maid was cleaning solution in bathroom which we have then utilized heavily for rest of the room which was far from clean, carpet and table would utilize deep cleaning. If you read all the way here and you are still not convinced not to go, dont do the same mistake as we did and never look under the sheet on mattress! That thing have seen some serious stuff.Few last notes. I dont believe you have to pay for parking. There is not enough stuff to run the hotel so I doubt someone is checking the parking. Breakfast is a big joke. Usually in camps you have better one so dont get your hopes up. This is great example of how to milk cow even when she is almost dead because you are not feeding it. Hotel did run through some effort few years back thats where the nice pictures came from but after that i doubt anyone spent a penny on basic maintanance in this place. interesting one time experience but unless I really really have to.
1. Elevator does not work. Had to carry luggage up creepy stairs and it felt very unsafe.2. Walls inside room cracked....yes, cracked. Paint peeling, patched holes that has not been painted over. Horrible.3. Bed seems old and worn down. Lamp shades dirty. A/C hanging out of wall. Shower dirty, toilet looks like its from a gas station out of a Micheal Myers movie, Wash clothes had stains and hair on it.4. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. NO MATTER HOW REASONABLE THE PRICE SEEM, YOURE STILL PAYING TO MUCH. $100 dollar deposit should not be required. There is absolutely nothing anybody can do to make this place worse.
Upon arriving to this hotel, the concierge informed us that none of the elevators had been working for the past week, nor was there A/C in the lobby or stairwell. Also, low and behold, our room was in the 12th floor (13th floor including the lobby). Walking up those flights of stairs wasnt fun, especially after eating a Philly Cheese Steak. The emergency stairwell that led us up the floors felt like a scene from a horror movie: musky and dimly lit. Once arriving to our room, we learned there was a stain that looked like blood near the toilet floor, and we also thought the shower wasnt working so we went back down 12 flights of stairs (13 including the lobby) to ask for another room. The concierge just said, Ill meet you up there, and proceeded to walk with us back up to our room to prove that the shower worked. It did, but not without a struggle. We decided we were too tired to leave for another hotel and settled in for the night. The beds were comfy. Whew! And the staff was friendly. Main inconvenience was walking up those 12 flights of stairs (13 including the lobby). I really feel for the staff because you could tell they wanted to help, but the hotel company hasnt been keeping up on maintenance.
Awful experience! Didnt even spend the night. The hotel has a heinous odor, the room was unclean, and the staff was not very helpful. The furniture was stained, the bed unmade, and the bathroom was plain disgusting. The elevator is terrifying due to how slow it ran and the eerie creaking noise that it makes. The stairwell smelled like urine, had distasteful graffiti, and was not well lit. I would not recommed this establishment to anyone. Concerned for occupants safety.
My wife and I attempted staying here Friday night,we had to attend a family funeral the following day. Right when we walked in it smelled very dirty, moldy. We went to our room and it was aweful. Carpets ripped up and nasty dirty, mold visible,no mini fridge or microwave, all outlets half hanging out and the elevators were not working. It was filthy. My wife had to leave because of her respiratory issues. We complained to the front desk...who were very rude and wouldnt refund us our money, only being there for an hour while we tried figuring out our next hotel booking. WATCH OUT EVERYONE!!
False Advertisement- Beware, things are not as they appear online!!Seems like they put more money was put into advertising than the actual hotel. $10 free parking. I reserved the room for 2 but there was only 1 towel and washcloth & no soap or tp. I called to have more sent up and was told I had to come get them from the front desk. Im on the 11th floor. After waiting 7min for the elevator the mildew smell was strong enough to take the stairs. I opened the stairwell door, it was so dark that I stayed for the elevator. There was some light, but not on my floor. Then finally at the front desk i was told that someone would bring my towels
Reality check -ZERO stars. No elevator. Lucky to have been given a room on 4th floor but the stair wells were super dirty and UBER creepy. I received an email about the elevator but figured it was a one day glitch and someone would have fixed in a day or so since it has so many floors but in reading reviews seems as if this has been going on for 2 or possibly 3 months! Toilet broken. No blanket for the bed, just sheets on it. Shower dirty. No towels and when they came to give me some, it was a guy with a large garbage bag fishing a towel out of the bottom (presumably just from the laundry room ) but no cart as you normally would see with towels folded..and HE SMELLED like he hadnt showered in a month. I was terrified staying there alone. DO NOT BOOK here. Pics are deceiving and it is a terrible place.
The hotel was cheap and close to the area we had an event at so we decided to give it a try and it was good for the money. Our room was okay, very spacious for the price. It was mostly clean besides our bed sheet. Everyone working there was pleasant and check in was fast and efficient. I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again if I was going to another event in the area.
Do not stay at this dump! The elevator is broken and the stairwell that is used, all the doors do not properly open. This is a concern if there were to be a fire. We checked in the room and there was no remote and when I went to call the fron desk, the phone, thickly covered in dust, was not usuable. Housekeeping did not know we had been assigned the room and let themsleves in as we were figuring this all out. When I checked in the hotel, they scanned a copy of my license. I asked if I could get that back when I checked out they said no. With this sketchy place, I will keep an eye on my credit report. We spent as much time out of the room as possible. When we left the next day, we did not shower, because the tub bottom was so dirty looking. I would have definitely had to stand on a one of the two bath towels we were issued if I were to use. Since the sink drain did not work, I was sure the shower had issues as well. Avoid this place!
Do NOT STAY HERE old pictures advertised. The elevator has been broken for years. The stairwell sticks, is dirty and at night scary. The key maker was down. We had to as the front desk each time we came back to het so.eone to let us in. During checkin the person with the master key was in out room eatting. The roo. Smelled of cigarettes, holes in the chair, stained carpet and tore curtains. Dead bugs on the wall and a bed I had to disinfect. There was no shower head , towels or hangers. Room service never came to fix our sheets. This place should be closed.
To start we was expecting a refrigerator and there wasnt. The hair dryer was burning up. No circulating fan in the bathroom. The air conditioner leaked and spread to the bed so you woke up to a wet floor. We put do not disturb sign and the cleaning lady cleaned our room and then checked us out. And the elevator was slow and the lights didnt work when you selected the floor.
This hotel was absolutely awful! The elevators didn’t work and then being put on the 5th floor was awful having to carry your belongings up all those flights of stairs. What if someone was handicapped in a wheelchair? No where to get ice because it doesn’t work. No machine to get any kind of drink. Shower leaks all over the floor and we had no toilet paper upon arrival. I understand this isn’t a five star hotel however how is it possible for this place to still be in business!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!
Just checking if this place is still open and running and surprisingly it is. I stayed there last year around this time and I can see elevators are still not working and rooms are still filthy and disgusting. Shame on you for putting some old pictures of nice and clean rooms when in reality they look NOTHING like it.
Booked a room and same day had to cancel it. Was given my cancellation number and told my car wouldn’t be charged. Well 5 days after canceling they charged my card and I have called 10 days multiple times and have been told only the manager can give me back my money. Each day leaving a message and never get a return call. My credit card thankfully had a great dispute department but NEVER would I book or go here. THIEVES

2019-02-20If I can give a 0 star I would! The most horrifying hotel experience ever! As Im checking in, the sign posted on the front desk stating elevator out of service then they gave me 4th floor! After the hike in the crumbling stairway made it into my room only to find old vomit on the remote!(really!?) Also vomit chunks on the headboard!(WTF!) Im completely speechless…all you need to do is look at the photos Im posting.

2021-08-25Car shuttle stunk... ride to airport was ok I think they MAY have two vans but only one driver at a time... when I was waiting to be picked up I was told 15 min. After 30 min I saw their van drive by.I called and he said he was full, but he would be back... 1/2 hour later he returned. I was given my key at the hotel and told to go find my car in this massive parking lot out back... luckily I had my keys with the car alarm to find it because it was in the very back corner... never use them or the Way app. I used to reserve again either.. they tacked on a 25 dollar fee at the end of the bill for taxes. ? What was supposed to be 12 dollars a night was over 17 a night.

2021-09-26They arent taking reservations as the hotel is closed. This is just an offsite airport parking location right now. Not sure what the status of the hotel is, but its cheap and relatively convenient as they have a shuttle running between the hotel and airport. One thing that need to do, is put a bigger sign on the shuttle. With all of the shuttles running g through the airport it is easy to miss the white van with a little sigh on the door that says Penrose Hotel.

2021-09-06If I could give zero stars, I would. The worst shuttle airport service I have ever experienced. After I told the driver i was waiting for 40 minutes and wanted an eta of when he would arrive, the driver was extremely disrespectful and accused me of lying. He said I went back inside and never saw him. Despite the fact that I had evidence of when I called him on my call log. Then he proceeded to pack the van with extra people. There were people sitting on the floor in the van. I cannot stress this enough. Do not use their services.

2021-10-27Used as parking for airport. Shuttle service is awful. Told us to give them a call when we were ready to be picked up. After we called, they said they would be there shortly. We waited 45 minutes, called them back. They said they had a shift change and new driver was not aware that we needed to be picked up. Waited another 20 minutes until we were picked up.

2021-11-01Zero stars. The shuttle drivers are terrible. They’re ignorant and their ways of speaking to people are un heard of. Told to call when we get our bags and wait nearly an hour for a shuttle. We only used this because it was last minute. If you are reading this, go else where.

2021-09-09If you have a camera check it! Someone tried to factory reset mine. Missing videos, the date said 2020, timing was wrong. Good thing we took all our valuables out before leaving the car. Also knowing that we were only leaving for 4 days, they blocked us off with another car. We had to wait until the driver came to confirm the car number to find the keys then finally move it. Shuttle back from the airport took almost 40 mins to come. Driver was nice, but the hotel parking itself is very disorganized. Also, if you own a black Camero and you parked there between Sept 2-6, your window was opened the whole time. And it rained.

2021-08-23Please do not use this hotel for airport parking. They went through my entire vehicle. I had cards from my birthday in my door, not only did they take the gift cards that were inside.. they took the cards too. Yall couldve at least left me the envelope! Tablet was hidden in trunk, thats missing as well. Called them when I noticed everything was gone & the lady who answered didnt even try to help nor did she have any suggestions. Cheap & ghetto. DO. NOT. USE!

2021-10-01Place is neat, staff is ok but the fact that you pay a fee to have your car put in a safe place yet the hotel denies any liability if something happens to your car while in their care is unacceptable. This was a last minute resort as all the parkings near the airport were booked but learning experience that Ill never use this place again. Change your policy.

2021-07-31Do not use this place for your airport parking. The worse customer service…meaning zero people there to help get, your keys, and in or out of the parking. Something simple like move a car 5 feet so I could get out will take you 3 hours. I don’t even know why this place is used for something simple as parking. I freaken monkey can run a place like this.
