Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in other cities:
I door dashed food bc im a truck driver and couldnt at the time get to a food place... door dash forgot a item..perkins would not make good on it..sent the wrong item that was on the menu but claimed it came in as a different item..didnt even seem to care or offer to make good on the order..screw perkins and never order from them on door dash
Great for everyone at any age!! The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. This place is an old haunt for my senior parents. The menu has everything from family favorites like hamburgers, skillet dishes and healthy salads. The homemade deserts maybe make it a 6 out of 5. The server staff are friendly, fast and just great people. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great place. There were 8 of us.The waitress was pleasant and very organized. She took our orders and get everything correct. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and waitress ensured we had everything we needed. Covid protocol in place. Only issue is the womans bathroom. This needs to be updated and monitored much closer.
Huge shout-out to Perkins tonight! Mens group from church met there tonight for dinner, not knowing they closed at 8pm. We arrived 7:40-7:45 and were still seated and served! Thank you Perkins for allowing us time to eat and fellowship tonight! Our server, Keith was great!
Perkins was great! It was nice to see wait staff still wearing face coverings like we did, however the biggest percentage of ppl did not.We both ordered off the 55+ menuThere was a great amount of food and the food was served hot!Very delicious and fulfilling. One had pancakes and sausage the other had turkey, stuffing, mashed pots and cherry sauce with a dinner roll. Will definately be back!
We always have a great experience here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is good. Not gourmet but interesting and not horrible for a major chain. For this particular area, its one of the better restaurants around with a consistently high level of quality and taste.
I strongly disagree with their system of having everyone wait to be seated either inside or right outside the building. It’s always so congested. Everyone is basically on top of each other. I don’t see why one cannot leave their name and phone number of one member of the party and have them wait in their car. When it’s their turn, they call their cellphone in order to provide some social distancing.
Big disappointment, ordered 2 meals to go, drove 15 minutes to get it. Arrived home only to find they left out 2 side items. When will you start doing your job? I asked for a credit and was told i would need to drive back to the location? So waste my time and gas to get what i should of already had? This is not customer service.
It was ok breakfast... definitely chain restaurant food... canned gravy and lacking anything special. I had a scramble mess thingy which came out room temperature (I have worked in kitchens and dont send things back often). It felt fairly clean and was well spaced. Our server was efficient and fairly nice.
The food was okay (ordered sirloin steak that was pretty dry), but my main complaint is about the caramel apple pie. The crust was not crispy at all and the topping was something unusual that did not feel good at all. If I ever go there again I will probably get some muffins just to be safe!
Good service. The meatloaf and corn were both overcooked and my coffee was luke warm. The last 2 times I was there were as disappointing. I dont think Ill be going back. Shame, I used to look forward to going there in the past. Staff and customers were always a pleasure.
The wait was long, much too long for the time they averaged but it was a busy day and from the sign out front they are in need of a cook. Then when we were called in they had written down 5 instead of 7 which my wife had repeated 4 times initially. So we had to wait a little longer. The waitress took all but our wifes drink order then walked away. Then another waitress came over and took it saying our waitress wasnt sure if she took it. Average to below average food. Some came out cold (e.g. my biscuit gravy) and one dish had a visible long hair on it. Waitress took it back and got a fresh plate (far as we know). The waitress was nice though so aside from the oopsies it was fine. Wont be going back though.
I ate here the other day while in the area seeing family. The food was amazing! Love good breakfast food. Our server, Maritza was wonderful! She made our time there very enjoyable. Service was fast and efficent. Drinks never went empty and food came out correct and hot! Shes the best!! I had the waffle with a side of sausage and potatoes. Everything was great 👍 i live closer to the Drexel Hill location , maybe Ill try there. Hopefully we get a server as awesome as she was. The food is only part of it. Good Service and a good atmosphere are important too and that was achieved.
Never great but particularly bad. Wait for service, drinks and food was way too long. Food came out and most of it was cold. Some sent food back and others told waitress they would eat the cold food since it already took way to long ti get it. Server was fine with that and a manager never came over to check on us. Server should have told manager or they should have known when she brought back half the food. Disappointing and will probably not go back for a long time.
Good food, good prices, especially if using email club coupons. I appreciate that calories are listed alongside each item. Our waitress was prompt & cordial (although did not tell us her name...we read her name tag). Checked on us several times during our meal. Avondale location was clean & spacious; plenty of seating.
I like Perkins. Ive been going here over 20 years. Unfortunately with the pandemic, there was a little wait. The waitress we had was nice but I think a little overwhelmed. She had forgot about me but its ok. I just would like to suggest they give more packets of ketchup when they give you your meal since 1 packet of ketchup doesnt go very far with a burger and fries.
Loved Perkins, been going since I was kid. It still extremely busy. My favorite thing besides the food is that the employees treat you like theyve known you their entire life. That is a wonderful feeling as a customer. Again, the food is affordable and great. Lots of options! Breakfast all day. Coffee was burnt but thats forgivable. Unfortunately the wait to get a seat Sunday afternoon was 25 mins! Absolutely ridiculous, especially because there are not enough parking spaces. Overall, still a decent place to eat.
The place seems to always be busy. Which stinks sometimes but just goes to show that it is very good. Usually I try to get there early in the morning around 7 a.m. on Saturday to beat the rush. Staff is always on point and the food has always been good. I highly recommend the skillet mixes with tater tots. Again the only negative to this place us sometimes the wait is long.
Perkins is great for any meal of the day. Ive been to a few, and this location is my favorite. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. My only complaint is that it can get very crowded, especially for breakfast on the weekends. There is usually a moderate wait time if you dont get there early. But hey, that must say something, right?
Food is decent, prices are a little high for a chain type diner, but the muffins and pies are wonderful. I find that they do desserts and breakfast the best. The staff is usually friendly and the lady thats always behind the register seems a little stand offish at first but this lady knows her stuff!
We really do enjoy this place. The food has always been good. I have never been dissapointed over the years. Their melts are so good. The Turkey platter tastes like fresh carved turkey supposed to taste and not dry and old like some places. The omelets are really good. Breakfast potatoes are to die for. The Biscuits not so much but not horrible. If they would make them lighter and fluffier like the Biscuit places in the south that use the lighter winter wheat flour they would be wonderful. Over all this place is great and wish we had more of these restaurants.
Love Perkins! There may be a wait sometimes to get a table, and the atmosphere can be a bit noisy at times when its full. But the staff is friendly, the food is excellent and the homemade desserts are delicious! Plus you can buy whole homemade pies and other desserts to take home! Reasonable prices, great food.
Perkins is a go to place when you want breakfast for dinner or steak for breakfast. The service is always wonderful and the portions are just right. The kids enjoy the grilled muffins and they never go away hungry. The three stars are because some of the meal prep needs improvement, for example, Grilled asparagus should not be soggy and the cups of butter on the plate could be cut in half; no one needs that much butter. Its a family restaurant, thats what makes it great locally.
They said 15 to 20 mins, after 35 mins I went back and asked how long the wait? They said 15 to 20 mins! So every time you keep adding 15 to 20 mins. Then she said there are 2 people ahead of you. So that means they will finish eating in 15 to 20 mins. Please be honest don’t lie tell the true1 to 2 hrs wait.
The best place to get breakfast in Southern Chester County by no stretch of the imagination. The servers all come complete with smiles and hospitality that is second to none. The menu has choices that will satisfy just about everyone, the prices are excellent, and the food is served as prompt as can be. Ive come back here time and time again and Ive never been dissatisfied with anything. If youre looking for a place to have a great bite to eat at an affordable price, theres no better place to go.
My daughter and I always share some special moments when we come here along with a really good meal and desert! We just love the servers and the layout and open windows all around provide a comfy atmosphere while visiting here! We just love it and im always trying their seasonal items- so fun and always delicious!
Me and some friends took a special trip and went here for breakfast and they were hyping it up to me the whole time. I had never been here and they were so excited to go. Well after being there, now I see why. The experience was very pleasant and I could not have asked for any better. Our server was quick and friendly and when the food came out we were all in love with it. They also sell pies at the front counter and they are delicious as well. Cannot wait to go back!
I live in Lancaster county now and dont get to visit here as much as I used to since I grew up just 3 miles from here. Perkins has been a staple of Avondale ever since I was a child. It was always a treat to come here. To this day, its still a fantastic family restaurant. The servers are always friendly and Ive never had any issues. Im sure if I did, it would be corrected straight away. Great food and scrumptious muffins and pies. I love it here.
I have never had a bad meal at your restaurant. Pancakes are very good.My last meal I had tilopia fish, mashed potatoes, and spinach--all very tasty, attractively presented, and reasonably priced. I am very impressed with the fresh spinach cooked perfectly.Staff is friendly, courteous, and very accommodating to your needs.Id recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food quality is good. I do not know if it is locally sourced though, after all Perkins is a chain. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and pleasant. Parking is ample.I gave this place 4 stars because I believe their prices are higher then other restaurants in the area. However, on Tuesday evening kids eat free and it is a kid friendly place. Most folks like Perkins so a 10 > 15 minute wait for a table is common, especially when its B, L or D time, off times youll be seated promptly.Being a national chain, I believe the home office sets what can be sold or not. That being said, I find Perkins menu a little hard to use. For example, try to put together 2 eggs, a meat, HF & toast... It can be ordered ala cart, but finding these priced items on the menu is difficult. Shouldnt a common breakfast like this be on the menu already?
The food was okay we asked for they were out of that we asked for the lemonade it was something that they had advertised and they were out of every single type of lemonade and the waitress didnt even know it before we ordered it and for one glass of milk they charge 319 I could have bought a whole damn gallon for 3:19
Our waitress, Julie, did not do a good job at all. My mom, a few of my siblings and myself went in on a Monday morning (they were not busy at all) and wanted to order a fairly quick breakfast as we were on our way to the beach. We ordered muffins and cinnamon rolls and 2 orders of Eggs with bacon and hash browns. The waitress seemed irritated by the fact that we didnt order much and after taking our order she didnt bring out our food for almost half an hour. My mom and sisters eggs were cold and seriously it doesnt take 1/2 and hour to plate a muffin and bring it to our table. There was an even larger group of all adults that were seated a good 5-10 mins after us who got their food delivered before we did. To make it even more frustrating was that she heard my little brother whining to my mom that he was hungry (Sorta felt like she wanted to teach him a lesson). After giving us our food she never came back to ask how it was (perhaps because she knew it was cold) even after telling us she would check up on us. We also didnt see her walking around through the restaurant at all during that 1/2 hour we waited on our food. My mom talked to the manager after paying for our food but overall we were very disappointed in our waitress and her non-accommodating attitude. Hope to have a better experience next time.
Lady at register who seated us was a bit rude, including snipping accusingly that I didnt tell her we had a wheelchair as I moved a couple chairs out of the way. (I absolutely had said the rest of our party would be in momentarily due to transferring the person in the wheelchair - and I was simply moving chairs, which Im used to doing all the time, not a big deal and I didnt comment on it.)Our server was very friendly. Food was meh, but Im not a fan of Perkins. Family all enjoyed theirs, they all love Perkins. So Ill chalk that one up to personal preference.Take home order of muffins was excellent, as always.
Usually the food is pretty good but tonight was a different story. My bacon was very overcooked & greasy and the strawberry covered French toast croissant was very dry, didnt taste like it was dipped in the French toast mixture, nor was the Bavarian creme on the top of the strawberries.
We stopped here on the way home from a long trip and all of us were so happy with all the food that we got, all 9 of us. The fact that they serve real turkey and real potatoes was impressive, and the price was unbelievable too. But our waiter, I think his name was on the bill as Ernest, he was the best we have had in years! I left him a huge tip because he showed such compassion for a very elderly couple that was sitting near us. He got down on his knee to hear the older woman speak and gave her advise on what he felt was her best choice. To see him care so much for this old couple was heartwarming to say the least. I wish I could have left him a lot more money and been one of those great life changers for someone as he truly was an incredible person with a huge heart and he deserves recognition for the way that her really took care of his customers. I hope to return someday and see him again, well, no, I just hope he moves up in the company and trains others to be just like him and is a great success, just as he was in my eyes yesterday.
Ive been here a number of times and honestly this was my first bad experience. Our waitress didnt seem to know what she was doing. We got pancakes and she forgot the syrup so after about 10 minutes she brings the syrup holds the tray in front of me and told me to take the syrup very rude. By then the pancakes were cold but I ate them anyway
Ok arrived at restaurant at 15:47pm person at podium asked my wife would we like a table or a booth she said booth and the gentlemen at the podium said, just a minute gonna see if the table has been wiped off. He wipe off the table and gave both of us menu. Ok 7 minutes pass a person was seated next to us...served a drink and the waitress working that section kept walking pass us. Waiting 13 minutes has pass 4 more people were seated and cokes and water on their table and still not waited on. 16 minutes pass the wife who happens to be the most patient person in the world said, she seem to be looking at us but acts as if were invisible. Of all people the wife said, lets go...wow! So she got up and headed for the door...I turned around and seen one of the suits there and said, its pretty sad that weve been seated here over 16 minutes and 3 other groups got service right away...and they werent even busy.Well that put a sour taste in our day. But nobody cares...someone just didnt get a very good tip today...out at 16:07pmAloha
We came here on Fathers Day during lunch time when it was very busy. The staff was able to keep the wait time down to be seated which was nice because the main entrance was very warm. Once seated, we were able to order our food in a decent amount of time and it didnt take too long for our food to come. The food turned out fine but the tater tots were cold by the time they came out.
Should you go? Yes but get there earlier cause the small waiting room fills up fast.I almost only go here for breakfast. The few times I have gone for dinner, I get breakfast. Yes, they servered breakfast all day before McDonalds realized it was possible.I live the granny country omelette with hash browns (yes, hash browns and not breakfast potatoes) and get you muffin or toast of choice. Go for the muffin.I have to mention and make sure you understand, get the hash browns. They make the best hash browns that I have found in a large area around. I have gone to a lot if diners and other restaurants around and almost no one serves hash browns. Plus they normally cook them almost perfect. A nice crispy outer shredded potatoes that are golden brown on the top and bottom and the interior is perfectly warm and soft. So you get that beautiful balance or crunch and silky potato goodness. This is the reason I give them 5 stars.Oh, their staff is good as well. Typically always nice, friendly, and timely. The cashier lady has been there since I can remember. It feels like decades. I will be very sad when she retires because to me, she is a Perkins constant and part of the visit I look forward to. I dont know her name but Perkins needs to respect the significant and constant part of the experience she provided.
I had a horrible experience here with a very rude assistant manager named Sharon. When I tried to use my coupon she was rolling her eyes at me and being extremely condescending. She ended up not allowing me to use a completely legitimate coupon because she never got that coupon before so she didnt think it was valid (I wouldve saved over 20 dollars). She then threw 2 dollars at me and told me to split it with my friends. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the times where Ive had good experiences there
Nice place, was a little slow on getting our meal but was well prepared and tasty...there is a calorie chart at the table...5/31/2021: want to thank Perkins Restaurant for honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation...the breakfast Magnificent 7 was well received by myself and hopefully for all the veterans whom visited for the wonderful gift...again thank you Perkins! 🇺🇲
This particular Perkins is clean, well-managed, and the staff is friendly and accomodating. I had the shrimp avocado salad and asked for some substitutions, all of which were done just as requested. My father-in-law had the beef medalions with mushrooms and reported it was quite good, the beef prepared correctly to medium. We make Perkins a routine stop when passing through this area on the way to Wilmington, and will continue to do so!
I wonder how clean the kitchen is, and if the people working there actually wear gloves. Food was cold, and my eggs were placed on top of some old dried out stuck on cheese that was never cleaned from the plate before re-using it to serve me my food, I could even see what looked like finger prints and smears where someone had tried to wipe the dried out stuck on cheese off the plate. Not to mention they screwed up my order of crispy hash browns and served me a batch of dripping grease strands of potatoes shards, under-cooked, and soggy.
Service is very good here, they seem to be properly staffed. Nice variety of chioces and very resonably priced. Can be crowded at times so be prepared to wait, but they keep things moving along. The parking can be tricky when there busy. There doesnt seem to be enough places to park.
Perkins ..take out is 5 stars i have had take out meals many times ..every thing you Need is there everything You order is thete many places there is always something missing not perkins. 5 stars. Even help carrying it to the car if needed. 5 stars all the way. The food. Is good too.
This is one of my top 3 breakfast places and they have the best desserts if you like muffins this is the place to go super fast service overall clean environment and most of the time perfectly nice waiters/ waitresses all I would say is if you want to go here on a saturday morning make a reservation their always booked.

2022-06-19Amber was a great waitress for our Fathers day outing. No complaints from any of the kids, thats amazing in and of itself. We had the salmon, eggs Benedict, pancakes, turkey platter, mac n cheese, hamburger and a spinach salad.

2022-06-02You know what youre getting at a Perkins - glutinous portions of cheap, fast food. The staff at this Perkins is awesome. The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because we rarely get hot food - even if the place is empty. Good coffee ☕️👌

2021-05-24We went there for breakfast. The food choices were numerous with big breakfasts and smaller choices as well. When you order coffee or tea you get a refill pitcher with it . The service was great and the food was delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were amazing.
