Took my grandmothers dog in for grooming. It was the puppys first time ever. Will be the last due to the groomers rude unprofessional attitude. Stated that the dog was to nervous, and she pooped 2x, then proceed that she could no longer be taken there for grooming. It was the again, the puppys first grooming experience. Took her there cause she really needed a cut. But I guess we will need to find a private groomer that understands puppy behavior
I buy mice as pets as they are very funny, sociable, bond with you and cute. I bought 6/7 of my mice at this store and I had an issue for the first time with the mouse I just purchased yesterday showing obvious signs of an upper respiratory infection. Petco guarantees that within 30 days of purchase and having a receipt, they will refund you or treat your animal at their pet stores local vet. This includes reptiles, invertebrates, birds and SMALL ANIMALS including the mouse I purchased. A woman on the phone this morning told me that they’re not going to refund me or help me out because they sell them only as FEEDERS to be fed to snakes and not to be kept as pets and “this has been their policy for years”. That’s news to me!!! A different Petco location will be helping my animal out as this Aramingo Ave store either goes AGAINST POLICY of helping and refunding purchase of small animals or they just have an old hag on the phone who doesn’t want to do her job and help their animals and owners out! Also, good luck getting them to answer their phones most days. It doesn’t matter how many times you call or how long you wait on the line.
I love Petco honestly. I go there for almost everything. The only complaint that I have is that almost everytime I go there for feeder fish, theres hardly ever any. Kind of wish they would send emails to let people know whats in stock and what isnt or at least when new shipments arrive.
This Petco store offers everything I need to keep my pets fed and happy. The prices are fair and there are often sales. Usually things are in stock. The employees are helpful and offer assistance. Service sometimes moves slow at the checkout. Inside of the store is clean. The outside needs to be cleaned.
I went there to get worms only to find the worms marked LARGE were the same size as the ones marked small even though they were marked with a higher price. Half of the worms in the containers were dead and straight up frozen and black. An employee came over and told me that I would not find any mealworms larger than these even though I have bought them from petsmart plenty of times. He was incredibly condescending and rude and was trying to get us to buy the bin of nearly half dead worms. Highly reccomend going to petsmart instead for any of your reptilian needs.
Plenty per food but only one cashier and then only one person working on the floor and waiting to get an animal sometimes it takes 20 minutes or theyre out of stock of mices even though they say they bring in every Wednesday the next day theyre already out they need more worker to help the customer when they come in and ask them do they need help with anything thats just my opinion
I spoke to Rose. She was very knowledgeable and did not ignore me and stepped forward to greet and assist. She did an amazing job, so knowledgeable and taught me my mistakes with my aquarium. Day 1 of lowering the ammonia and my fishies, frogs, and snail are still swimming and happy:D Thank you for the recommendation!
I really love this particular Petco because they always seem to have a full stock of items I need. Some of the other locations dont seem to be stocked as well although I know a lot of shows are empty due to be shipping issues because of covid. I dont know how they do it but this particular Petco seems to always be well-stocked
This Petco has the best selection in my area. The staff is very helpful and super friendly. I don’t usually do reviews but I want to give a shout out to Dan. He gave me excellent customer service! He went out of his way to price match the online cost, which was greatly appreciated. This is by far my favorite Petco. I’m a forever loyal customer.
Negative Stars... I went there Wednesday (7/7) morning looking for a pet for my son. I didnt see any employees to ask for help. I went to the register to ask if they have the pet. She told me to *get out of here*. Very, very rude. So rude. I planned on returning and buying some items I liked for my cat. Not after that!!
Rosa Ortiz aka Roe, is the best groomer. She not only listens to exactly what I want but she keeps very good record of my kids health issues! I usually take both my kids to get groomed at the same time but Leelee was just recently groomed by Roe. Leelee has allergies, not Ben and Roe noted that in his profile. Ben is 14 years old and even though he is super healthy and viral for his age, there are parts of his body that ache. Roe is aware of this and is always so gentle. I monitor my kids when they go into the salon and especially when they walk out and Ben and Leelee are always happy walking in, as well as, walking out! Thats a very good sign that they are being treated right! So yeah, Ms. Ortiz is definitely someone I trust with my two babies!!!
Store is stocked with what Im looking for 90% of the time, store associates are helpful even when busy restocking large amounts of products that is neverending it seems. Petco online offers free home shipping on orders over $35 and also offer curbside pickup, same day and repeat delivery. If you have any questions on a product or looking for a different comparable item to one that maybe out of stock call online order customer service to place your order, their customer service sofware lets them see by key word etc in their stock system multiple same type or comparable products at a better price and sometimes better reviews for hard to get or always out of stock items. I usually check Chewy, Amazon and Petco for item price which is usually only a few dollars difference between them and Petco has bee holding their own with offering lower prices between the 3 of them. There are also times you just have to see items in hand to be sure of size or selection in store just to be sure.
I like it here. Its clean, the employees are pretty nice. They always almost have everything in stock. I witnessed one of the dog groomers get aggressive with one of the pets she was grooming. Other than that and the fact they dont price match anymore only with their online Petco. But for the most part Ill keep going.
We love visiting all of the lizards, snakes, fish and mice! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. I always find something awesome that I didnt even know I needed for one of our dogs! This time around it was a cute doggy t-shirt for our pit and it was marked down from $14.99 to only $4!
Petco is the only place i have found that does a deshedding bath with their grooming services that actually works. it is an upcharge compared to a regular bath but is completely worth it and works better than any other place i have tried. Krissi is super nice and will take great care of your pup! :)
I went there twice to purchase a fish with my children.The first time I went was on a Sunday. When I called I was told the pet section closes at 6:30pm, but when I arrived at 6:27pm we were turned away because they were no longer selling fish. I was frustrated because when I called I was told something completely different, but I just left it alone and chalked it up to “miscommunication”.I went back that Tuesday. At first the girl at the fish booth literally just started at my family after she finished with the people prior to us... no hello, step forward, noting ... we eventually stepped up and greater her (as if we worked there). She let us enter. I asked her what which fish had the lowest maintenance and she went through an over on each section in less than 1 minute... how could I possibly keep up. Ultimately I was annoyed because she basically rushed through us to go talk to and hug up on her male coworker.I have a 2yr old and a 6 yo, she literally raised her voice with my son for flicking the fish label. That was the final straw for me.I think the girl honestly may had Social issues or was simply a horrible customer service associate. Either way I will NEVER go back to that location, and may never try another Peto in general. It was really difficult to hold myself back when she raised her voice with my son. But I’m a woman of color. I wasn’t going to risk my freedom and/or life for a rude and nasty hourly associate (not that there’s anything wrong with her role)
This review is specifically for vetco. I was very happy with my experience after visiting another vet clinic earlier in the month that was not as great. Everything was very efficient, organized, and affordable. I received reminder texts days before and about a half hour before hand they called me to check me in and go over my services and how much I would be charged. When I arrived I was met with immediately by the vet tech and she weighed my dog. About a minute later the vet met with my dog gave him his shots then we were done. About 5 minutes total. I waited another 5 minutes for them to process the paperwork and then I payed up front. I took about 15 minutes total. The only suggestion I would make is the signage is not clear and I lost some time trying to find out where the vet clinic was in the store. It is not the prettiest but for shots and basic vet services it was well worth it if you dont want to spend a fortune. I will be back again.
Go here often even with pandemic today as I was going to the fish area some new employee Ive never seen before tells me with attitude that only one person is allowed in the about 40 to 60 ft fish area. And continued to say its for your own safety and went on about how I had a minor with me. But yet in the isles there is no distancing enforced at all.and never once have I been told this before so I left and took my business elsewhere
I find it very convenient to make on line purchases. Plus the selection is much better on line. Also, I stopped in to buy cat litter and the clerk gave me a 10% discount because the bag was damaged and she applied my bonus coupons, which I forgot about, and my purchase went from $42 to less than $10.
Great for getting any kind of pets of Lies I stopped are actually to get mealworms nightcrawlers so I can go fishing but I always used to go there when I raise my bearded dragon they had everything in stock today I would need so they have everything you would need for animals Rumi everything beautiful place Tubi
ZERO STARS!I am upset that I have to choose one star to give feedback!I have been attending this location of Petco for five years! Today, I am here to share that this store currently has no idea how to do its job.Petco advertises being able to book an appointment online. However, if you need to change or cancel an appointment, you must call the store. I spent a whole month trying to get in touch with a representative at the grooming department.Finally, I decided to leave a voicemail pleading for someone to call me back because I needed to reschedule an appointment and did not want to be considered a no show client. On April 28, I received a call from an associate in the grooming department. She shared that everyone in the grooming staff QUIT! I was surprised to hear this because I did not receive any notification from the Petco store. Instead, they ignored calls and shut down the website scheduling services. The associate continued to share that she could squeeze me in the earliest May 6 at 1:00 pm. Of course, this was inconvenient because I HAVE A FULL-TIME JOB AS AN EDUCATOR.Today, my fiancé entered the store, took the day off; HE ALSO RUNS A WHOLE SCHOOL to find out that they did not have my dog scheduled. When I explained the situation to the associate, the woman in the store shared she was expected to work that day but was not there. The other woman scheduled was present that day to pick up the phone AND ALSO QUIT IN A MATTER OF ONE WEEK. I asked the associate what she could do today because my fiancé was already present in the store with my dog, and she offered nothing. I then proceeded to ask to speak with a Manger, John. While speaking with JOHN, I realized he has no idea what is happening in his store. John did not know who was scheduled on April 28 and did not know the associate had quit. After explaining the process for the third time to JOHN still did not offer to accommodate a customer that has paid hard earn money and tipped at his location.I will follow up with PETCO HR because the customer service from JOHN and his associates was ridiculous and unacceptable.
Good store. Decent selection. Only problem I have there is their aquarium section is riddled with ich(parasite). Be careful when buying your fish there. Has been going on for a while. Other than that great store, staff is awesome. The fish is why I only gave them 4 stars
I asked the cashier to please check if everything was wringing up correctly, because I felt I was being overcharged. She became frustrated and gave me attitude so I just paid and left. When I checked my receipt I was overcharged. The prices in store are never accurate either. Scan your purchases in the app before you pay, because chances are it’s cheaper. It will ring up full price at the register though so you have to show them in order for them to honor it. You’re welcome!
Everything we discussed over the phone, to my surprise, happened when I got to the store. Also, every safety precaution was exercised. I was most impressed and pleased. Also, did I mention the store rep was very friendly and helpful getting the tank to my car. Thanks Petco.
Love this store lots of pet goodies all in one place I shop for my dog n cat here I come in find what I want name i never have any problems. Clean neat and organized all the time plenty parking and lots of helpful staff. Grooming as well i never have no issues or worries here keep up the super work guys keep up the great services
The absolute incompetence here is stunning. Apparently only one whole person in the store has keys to the hermit crab cage. Waited over half an hour for them to be done with someone in the fish area. Dont blame the key guy. But the fact the people who were on the floor refused to help speaks volumes about the laziness here. Do yourself a favor and go outside the city. Cleaner stores and better service
Upon pick up there was a 20 min wait. Even thought was the only customer at the time. Also 2 items were out of stock. But was only refunded for one. Had to contact customer service so they could demand the store to issue a refund because they marked the item as picked up. I love ordering online but I may just continue ordering from Amazon.
This store shouldnt even get a 1 star review. A few Employees didnt even wear masks (Not even around their neck) and a few employees had cigarettes hanging from their ears. I waited to get a few fish for 40+ minutes because the employee was late to their shift. Everyone else just stood around.
The whole store was very well organized and clean, all the things easy to find, the most that I loved about the store was the service that coach Alexander gave us, very friendly at all times, I was a lot of questions that he very kindly answered, Thanks for your kindness and great service Alexander.
The staff dont know half the information about the animals. I always call and they pick up dont say anything and hang the phone up. Ive called three times and they just pick the phone up and wont say nothing and just hang up. They never have what you need my advice is go to petsmart have more knowledge and appreciate there customers. I will never shop at petsmart ever again. I hate this store.
Went here to purchase supplies for a 6 month bearded dragon. Young lady nicknamed Jay was awesome. She approached me and my friend (on her own) and gave us a wealth of knowledge about how to care for Lizzy! Saved us alit of time and money. The breeder didnt tell us half the things that Jay told us. Shes the best!
I shop here all the time!! Never have i had any issues. So i decide to bring my 8 month old border collie/ Australian Shepherd up for a grooming appointment. When i booked the appointment on the website it clearly states that if the dog is aggressive or afraid they will have another worker come into help. My dog didnt even make it in the grooming area. My dog is nervous around strangers when she first meets them. But she always warms up to them within a few minutes. Never has she hurt any person or dog. Fyi she attends doggy day care with no issues. The groomer called her name and she showed her teeth which she does often when nervous but NEVER HAS HURT ANYONE OR DOG. The groomer automatically got offensive and said nope not doing it we dont have to because she showed her teeth. I never leave a bad review but i waited a month for my appointment and if the website said if yourdog has nervous issues please dont book i wouldnt have. They made it seem like the groomers are proffesional and able to handle any type of dog. Very misleading
I have taking my dog Grace so many times gotten full service I will never take her back there this groomer Kristi groomed her twice the first time she had a bald spot on her leg the next time she extracted her glands next her left side weak every time she would walk her legs would give out I will never go back there again I was so scared I took her to the emergency vet they told me that Petco as so many complaints against them they cut a dogs ear off a dogs tell had to be amputated no more for me
It was horrible the employees told my child shes not ready for a pet because it was our first time and she excited to see the animals how do you know that but that day I didnt carry my license people know who to get over on versus people they will be afraid to get over on this lady told my child she wasnt ready have a pet when all types of people came for a pet some people just know who to push and not to push what you have said that too a group of loud girls ghetto rational no offense what would be different all the pets will be free
I hve been 2 The Armangio Ave. Store so many times, We bought a Betta Fish 4 my kids & the customer service representatives she told me H 2 care 4 the Betta Fish & wht we needed 4 the Fish, They was very helpful, & educated me on how to tke care the Fish....We been 2 the stores a lot of time to purchase so stuff 4 the Betta Fish.....The store is very clean & the staff is very professional....Update:::: All the Bettas Fish we bought 2 of them had died on us, They gave me the wrong information on these Fishes, Bettas Fishes need 2 B in a Fish Tank with a Filter & a motor.....Please do ur research on any Fish tht U buy from here, The Bettas that they sell should not B in a little Bowls, Petco Employees do not know anything about no animals they sell......All they care about is selling & making money on all the animals they sell. ..
Well, nobody is perfect and I couldnt give a perfect 10 based on that. Even though Ive spent well over $400 on beds for my dog for her to literally destroy in a day is my only complaint. I wish you had a comfortable bed that IS chew proof or very difficult to destroy.
We had to bring our dog here for grooming because we had tried taking him to a different fancy groomer but they mustve been a little rough with him so he tried to nip the girl so they wouldnt groom him, which I understand, but I had told them he had a very bad back leg so be extra gentle, anyhow Petco said bring him in, it was a completely different experience our poop was happy the whole time, his tail was wagging, not tucked between his legs. Here had a great time and looked so handsome!. We will always go back here!!!
I alway have a good experience with the employees there very kind and helpful and I love the fact that they return calls when leaving a message Alex the dog trainer very good and kind person live the fact that he called me back and explained everything to expect for my dog to train everyone there i am a very satified customer.
Unless you need help, you can be in and out of here pretty quick. Most of the time you have to go to the cashiers for help. Example, you need a heat bulb for your snake? Cabinet is locked. No one is around. You havta wait for someone with a key to help you... or ask up front.
Morgan from this location has the ABSOLUTE BEST customer service and product knowledge. Go to her for your needs and a great experience. Im from a suburban area in Philadelphia and unlike the other places around here, I felt at home and received quality service. Thank you Morgan!!!
Power tripping employee enforces arbitrary no backpack rule while ignoring customers not wearing face masks, a legitimate health concern.I can never seem to get in when they have dubia roaches, but other than that the stores selection is great. Some employees are clearly high, scratching at their arms or pacing up and down an isle repeatedly doing nothing. Not my first choice in pet stores but itll do when I need something quick.
Theres a good variety of supplies here for various pets. I go here to get stuff for my turtle when they dont have what I need at Wal-Mart & I dont have time to wait for an online order. Its a little pricey. They sell pets here such as fish, turtles, and small mammals and reptiles. With any pet purchase, I recommend doing your own research to see what supplies you will need/how much the basic necessities should cost before making the commitment. Staff here is nice but not pet experts.
Huge store, most things were in stock, a shortage of employees like everywhere of course, but everything was easy to find. The cashier spoke to the first 2 customers and had conversations with them except for me, not sure why, Im Spanish but I doubt that had much to do with it, I came with a smile.
I walk my puppy to this store and as a 1st time dog owner ( at age 69) I know that people overspend on their pets and get expensive bills from the Vet. Every employee at this store asks me if I need any help as we stroll the aisles. Ashley at the cash register was very helpful and friendly and its always good to see her when we return. Good prices and selection, better than PetSmart. I signed up for Puppy Training.
Went in store first time owning a fish tank so I wonted to buy fish I didnt even get what I want cause the hevy set man with glasses made me feel so welcome I graded 7 fish wonted more he seemed like he was rushing me I was so un comfortable I ask what about food he said down that Ile 50 brands I dont no what I was buying he didnt even try to help me you dont want to work dont go you should have him stock shelves if he dont want to be around people cause of virus I would of liked to buy more fish coming back today if he there in that department Im leaving sorry
The fish and aquatic plants selection is awesome... As long as you dont expect to do a quick pickup before 20min before the store closes. Apparently employees can just decide to close a whole department while the store is still open. Waste of gas. ***Had to drive to this store because the one on Grant Ave had ich all through the freshwater section. Otherwise, we would have been there earlier. So not cool.
The man who wears sunglasses inside in the fish department is beyond rude, doesn’t acknowledge you and walks like he’s a teenager at school hating his life. Always on his phone too, makes getting feeder mice or fish an ordeal instead of someone just doing their job and being helpful
BRIAN WAS QUICK AND HELPFUL WHILE WORKING ! THE YOUNG LADY WITH LONG HAIR WAS VERY IGNORANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL ON MY FIRST VISIT TODAY. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN PETCO 4 STARS BUT SHE WAS VERY AGAINST SERVING ME. SHE ACTUALLY WAS ON THE PHONE TALKING AND MOVED TO ANOTHER LANE IN THE STORE. SHE FLEED ME LIKE MY MONEY NOT GREEN. THATS HOW I CAME ACROSS BRIAN WHO WAA STICKING BUT STILL HELPED. THE CASHIER HE SET IT OFF LIKE VIVICA. HER DISRESPECTFUL WAYS COST THEM A STAR. SHE ACTUALLY POWER WALKED AWAY FROM ME .
Ashley displayed excellent customer service! I had to return an online order to store and apparently I wasnt given any of the required information to do so. Ashley called and got the information and worked hard to process my refund. She was knowledgeable and helpful and I appreciated all her help.
This place sucks. There is a homeless person or two living by the front door. They almost never have feeder fish. They seem to be cash only pretty often. Seems fishy for lack of a better word. Its ghetto. I find myself happy to pay a bridge toll to go to one in Jersey. Stay away.
This place is the worst because everytime I come i try to get the self wash, i spend maybe more then $300 here everytime I come and 3 times so far I can never get the self wash for my dogs. I have 5 dogs meaning $10 each so $50 and you deny me?!. When I went in there I saw snakes dieing. Its horrible. Never coming back. They lost my service and my respect. I do not recommend this petco to anyone. I did get to speak to the manager and then he did not even try to listen and he knows I spend alot of money in his store. What kind of manager does that? The worst!! I wanted to give no stars but had to give one just to leave a comment!!

2022-02-11Yesterday I went to pickup a online order. When I walked in there was no line for the cashier. I told the cashier (Luis) that i was there for a pickup. He page the manager for assistance. 2 min later there is a line at the cashier. Im still waiting for the manager. I ask the cashier if he could get the manager because i was on a hurry, thats why I placed the order online because i didnt have much time and it wasnt fair that customer that came after me where been taking care before me since I was still waiting for the manager. The cashier (Luis) said that hes job was to be at the register since he was the cashier. I told the cashier that his job duties include customer service too and that i needed assistance. The cashier started been very rude with me. Finally the manager comes and the cashier was still talking rude to me even knowing I was explaining myself to the manager and i wasnt talking to him. At some point the cashier and me went back and forward because i got tiered of him been disrespectful with me while I was talking with the manager. He just keep going..... I ask the manager why Petco have employees like that working for for him and i also also ask him why his employee keep going like that. I also apologized to the manager because at some point i did answer the cashier back but I told that it was just to much for me to stay quiet. Even when I ask for the cashier name and the phone number for the district so that i can make a complain, the cashier was responding all this with a really bad attitude. I told him I wasnt talking to him ( the cashier) but he just keep going. At no point the manager (Dan) said anything to the employee. The Manager didnt delegate at all. He didnt even ask the employee to stop... The manager look scared about the employee and the situation. When the manager handle the piece of paper to me with the cashier name, phone number for the complain and his name, the manager hands where shaking. I honestly feel bad for the manager because obviously he was very nervous but also I would appreciate having a manager that can delegate his duties. Its my understanding that every work position with Petco included customer service but it seems that your employees dont understand that or the company doesnt describe there duties..... Never going back to Petco ever again..... PetSmart employees are friendly and with great customer service. You should send your employees to do training in PetSmart so they can learn what is customer service. Very disappointment with the situation and how it was handle. I also will be calling the district to complain about this situation. I hope Petco would do something about it....

2022-02-06Hello my name is Nick. I have been coming to this Petco for years now. Great store always clean. Customer service is fantastic. What’s stopping me from giving this place a 5 star. I may have some issue with their overweight dog division. You see I tried to get my beautiful big bone dog (may she go nameless) a dress. I’m afraid they didn’t have her size. The max size was XL and though (nameless dog) tries her best I fear she may never fit into an XL. Let’s try and get bigger sizes. Big dogs need love to.Sincerely yours,Friendly neighborhood big bone dog owner.

2022-02-01Little difficulty actually locating this store (1st time here). The GPS seemed a bit confused, but it was surprisingly larger inside than it looked from the outside. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. (We were purchasing cat food for an outdoor / stray kitty we care for). They eased our minds about the heated shelter we created & the type of food weve been using.

2021-06-20The cat food is on the high end side, being organic also, mostly very enriched meals. I myself listen and my Stella tells me she loves Fancy Feast, which Petco does not carry. I get lost reading some of the articles on the foods, Im not slow, its just wow!! Anyway! Great store for toys! I get Stella a toy everytime. Personal products also a plus. And accessories are in stock.,like litter bins, beds, carriers. You can even get a tag made for your pets collar!

2022-04-11Whoever works customer service around 2-3pm on Monday is unprofessional and ignorant. She gave me a attitude for asking about food that I ALREADY PAID FOR. And did not get put inside my bag. She needs to learn manners and I will definitely follow up to make sure something is done with her disrespect.

2022-03-03My first time and my cats first time. They did a good job, but didnt clean dirt around cats nose. For the price I think that should have been done too. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience.

2022-01-04Bought Chameleons there in September at 1st I could get crickets when ever I went to the store. The pass 2 months I havent been able to get crickets pr all their crickets are dead if they cant supply the food you need for your pet they shouldnt sell them. And yes we tried to feed them meal worms and other alternatives but they turn their noses up to them and wont eat dead things.
