I went there for my auto inspection. I used to go to my dealership to get it done, but they are pretty busy this year. I would like to point out that the price at this auto shop is way more expensive than the dealership. That being said, its better to bring your car to your dealership to get the inspection done.
BEWARE! I was just paid a $94 parts charge on an oil change. A $94 oil filter? Ridiculous. The oil change itself was approximately $95 which is on the high end to begin with. When the charge was questioned, the staff member became rude and pointed to a sign, allegedly of extra charges, that didnt actually have any prices on it. This was robbery, plain and simple.
Pros: Pinnacle is located in a residential neighborhood and is a pleasant walk from most places in the city.Cons: They went through my personal belongings and in the car, going as far as opening rummaging through my glovebox which is completely unacceptable.Pinnacle is pricy and be ready for them to go through all your things, but you cant beat the location if you live in the city.
I had similar experience as Ms. Miller, Mr. Tracy, and Mr. Smitty. Took in car with flat tire and they said needed to drill out a locking lug nut to take off the wheel (I lost the key). Fine, we approved. But when my daughter went to pick up the car, they said they had drilled out a second lug, figuring wed want that. Wrong, can buy a replacement on Amazon for $15. They wouldnt give her the car unless she paid $176. She needed it for work, so she paid. Then the kicker: I check the tires when she gets home, and they had not actually drilled out the second locking lug! Its still on the car. Wow. I have pics to prove it. I challenged the charge for the second fake drill out. They refused to refund. I guess will be contacting BBB and Pa. Consumer Affairs and see if they can help. Beware.
Tom and the team at Pinnacle provided service above and beyond my expectations. I had taken my car to Pep Boys to address a noise when I braked. Pep Boys finished their work and the noise was so much worse. They refused to acknowledge this and insisted I would need to pay $2,000 more to fix it. Someone recommended Pinnacle to me and they squeezed me in the next morning first thing. Not only did they fix the problem, they also provided great information on what was wrong that allowed me to get my money back from Pep Boys. Tom even offered to call them directly to help get the refund. Truly amazing service and no issues with the car since. I could not recommend them enough!
I could not recommend this shop more! I came here for an inspection after I was extremely dissatisfied with another shop. Every time I called the owner was friendly and willing to help—even to the point where he offered to squeeze my car in at the last minute on New Years’ Eve. They made the whole process seamless and did not try to rip me off.
I went in because I’d had an extremely flat tire. I called before I went, about an hour before they closed. He asked me some questions and said I could come in. He showed me that there was a screw in my tire and let me know that it was in the best spot for that to happen. It would’ve been really easy to say I needed a new tire and I would’ve paid it. 15 minutes later, my tire was repaired. While I was waiting, I saw how the gentleman dealt with the customers who came in and out of the place and they were great. I have already recommended the place to my sister, who needs brakes.
I came here for a same-day oil change without an appointment, and they were readily able to accommodate me. I thought I needed new tires as well, and they did a tire inspection. Tom the manager is very professional and explained the team’s findings and recommendations without pushing to up sell. After going to a few different shops in the city, this place is by far the best and is my new home base for car maintenance and repairs.Highly recommended, fast service.
Ive been taking my car to Pinnacle since I moved to Phila in 2019, and they are very professional, have reasonable prices, get things fixed quickly, and my car has always run well afterwards with no problems. They also do my yearly inspections quickly. Tom in particular is a great mechanic and very friendly, although everyone there seems quite good. I dont know a lot about cars but they never talk down to me or push anything on me that my car doesnt need. Ive shown their work to my friends and family that do know a lot more about cars than I do, and theyve agreed that Pinnacle does good work and this is a good place to go.
DO NOT GOT HERE!!! I’ve never written a google review before but I am trying to save fellow Philadelphians grief! Took our car in on Saturday for a routine oil change before a cross country road trip from Philadelphia to Phoenix. Called us and said our suspension was rotted out and it would cost $1100. Since we were about to try cross country we panicked and said go ahead and fix it. Luckily, they weren’t going to be able to fix it until Monday. We started to talk to our friends about the situation and found out a year ago they had also gone to Pinnacle and had been told their car needed a $3,000 repair. When our friends refused because they wanted to bring their car for a second opinion, they were charged a $300 service fee. Decided we would NOT get the repair and promptly picked up the car at 8AM Monday morning. Took the car to a trusted family mechanic in my hometown in upstate NY who said the suspension was completely fine and he would let his daughter drive to Phoenix and back in our car. Fast forward to two days into our rode trip and suddenly our transmission light is beeping off. Have NEVER had this happen. Brought it into a mechanic in St Louis who said all of our transmission and coolant fluids were low and dirty when we literally just had our car serviced by pinnacle TWO DAYS AGO. not to mention, Pinnacle charged us $100. Absolutely outrageous, terrified they did worse damage to our car that we are yet to see. Do not go here, even if it’s the only place to get a last minute oil change in the city. It is absolutely not worth it.
I had a flat tire and blindly came to pinnacle after I found Mid City to be fully booked around noon. They looked at the tire and gave me an analysis on why they thought it was flat and told me what they would have to do. They let me leave the tire there and drive home to where they eventually called me to tell me it had to be replaced. They send out text alerts when your service is done which was helpful. The service cost me $191 (5% discount because I paid in cash) which was more than it could have been but they were fast, convenient, and got the job done. The place is small but the staff is friendly and they handled a difficult Karen customer very well while I was there.
I have used Pinnacle for service and repair for the last 5 years. They are friendly, explain what needs to be done and recommend repairs and service to keep the car from future issues. They are reasonably priced, and I trust they will never do anything more than is necessary. I would highly recommend them, especially to anyone who doesn’t know his or her way around a car.
I got my state inspection here, had my oil and filter changed on a separate occasion, and when my car developed a weird sound, these guys were about it figure out! All three times, service was trustworthy, dependable, and done with care. I will keep coming back here in the future.
Hostile attitude. This was a terrible experience that I would not wish on anyone. After stopping by a few days ago as an employee (Tom) requested, I called today to schedule the repair. I was disrespected the entire phone call by an agitated and condescending tone in response to my questions to gain clarification about the repair process. Three years ago I had a positive experience with the shop, which is why I wanted to return to them for this repair. Unfortunately, Today was the opposite of that experience three years ago. Today’s atrociously unprofessional treatment gave me the impression that this shop does not know how to deal with professionals who do not accept mistreatment and a condescending customer service attitude. I will be taking my business somewhere else, where they value their customers and treat them with dignity and respect. Unreal.
I would give six stars if google let me. This is the Best shop in Philly and you have to come here if there is anything wrong with your car. Tom helped me through the whole process, hes very friendly and communicative. My car was hit by a uhaul van while parked on the street. I came to the shop with broken steering, Tom found the parts and expedited everything to make sure i get my car back on time. My car was scheduled to be dropped off at dealership for sale on Saturday, I brought the car to the shop Tuesday morning, and was told the earliest i can get my car back is Friday afternoon, surprisingly right now I am writing this review with my car parked in the garage and its Thursday! Huge thanks to Tom and the team at Pinnacle Auto. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
Were initially reluctant to mount a loose tire onto wheel/tire I had off the car. They did take it and performed the service quickly. However, they added a valve stem charge of 6.95 for a tpms valve stem when the valve stem was not replaced ( a unique valve stem is required for the wheel given.) They also charged me a 5.32 dollar shop supplies fee to mount one tire. I went there because it was advertised they have the fancier road force balancing. There were no weights added to the wheel when I picked it up. So I can only assume the wheel balanced perfectly without weights and I paid a premium for that. Also, charged an additional $10.78 because it was an 18inch wheel. 18 wheels are pretty standard size for basically all newer cars. $69 dollars to mount and balance one tire.
I went to Pinnacle to get my vehicle inspected. They were able to get me in within a couple days. When I dropped off the vehicle, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who made the check in process quick and easy. I returned in the afternoon to pick up my vehicle and recieved a detailed report and written notes regarding my ideal tire pressures. I will certainly be returning when needed... and maybe to grab a cigar from their humidor!
I called for an inspection. The rep was courteous and professional and accommodated my scheduling needs. The shop on Catherine Street has plenty of parking. Upon arrival the rep at the desk was friendly and efficient. He said he’d call when the inspection was completed. I went to a nice park two blocks away and got a call 45 minutes later that the job was done. EZPZ. I’d highly recommend Pinnacle to anyone needing automotive service.
My experience with Pinnacle Auto, has always been a great experience. Every person in that shop is Top Notch. When I drop my vehicles off for service, it is always done in a timely matter, and the prices are reasonable. The big thing for me is my vehicles always come back clean, no hand prints and things like that. I highly recommend this repair shop.
Tom and the guys at Pinnacle are great everytime I need car service. Theyre quick to get you in and out of the shop and great at explaining any issues. Never feel like Im getting taken advantage of or oversold things I dont need. Prices are fair and service is fantastic. Happy customer. Have been a customer for 3 years and will continue to be!
We love Pinnacle Auto for all our mechanical needs. We’ve been taking our vehicles here since moving to Philadelphia in 2015. The staff is always professional and very friendly. Great communication when you have questions or when something needs replaced or worked on. This past visit was for a state inspection. I was in and out with a new sticker in about an hour. We always recommend Pinnacle to our friends and family.
I like the people here, but I was severely underquoted for the services I needed and it appears as though the job wasn’t completed. I was told I needed brake work, new windshield wipers and tires which would come to “I don’t know, 350-400.” This bill eventually became $750 after a part that added only $80 to the bill was put in. I don’t care about the cost, I just care about people being up front about it.
Tom and the crew at Pinnacle were incredible! They were extremely kind and professional both in person and over the phone and seemed as invested in helping me with my flat tire as if I was family. I had a great experience since the second I walked through the door and left feeling good about the work done to help my car. Even with short notice, they went the extra mile to find me the right tire nearby and shorten the time til my car was ready. Would 110% return with any other car troubles! Thanks to all of you at Pinnacle!
Ive been going to Pinnacle for at least 15 years. I’m the worst type of customer. Generally all my vehicles are older models. Self maintained until I get in over my head. This last transaction was no cake walk. And I can’t thank them enough for handling the repair. Full rear drivetrain transplant on a 4Runner. I’m certain it was a pain in the back and stressful just dealing with me. Given the distances the parts travel and the conditions the world is in , no complaints about the time involved. I value their abilities and service to the neighborhood.
I have taken my cars here for the past 10 years. They are very professional, accommodating and most importantly, honest. I have never felt like they tried to manufacture the need for a repair or a part. Have never had to wait an extended amount of time for an appointment, which is good because I typically forget that my cars need to be serviced or inspected until just before or just after such service becomes due. Highly recommend them!
After letting my MINI Cooper sit for too long during 2020 it needed some TLC. It’s a 2009 and after leaving Pinnacle this last time it’s never run better. Seriously- it’s so nice I stopped in to tell them. It feels like I paid for a special tuning because it’s running that good now. 100% go here and get treated like family.
Pinnacle promotes asking them for cost estimates on their website. I asked for a quote for an oil change for my car. The estimate they sent me was $42.95 plus the cost of the oil and the filter. I have owned the car for almost five years and I have never paid more than $80 for an oil change. When I picked my car up I was shocked to find that total cost of the oil change before taxes was $137.82 which included $96.87 for parts - which included $19.45 for “shop supplies” which they made no mention of in the cost estimate they provided. When I ask for a cost quote - which they themselves suggest doing - and they do not include the vast majority of the costs in the information they provide in the quote, it is pretty clear that they were being intentionally deceitful about how much they were going to charge me - especially the $19.45 in “shop supplies” that was not mentioned in the quote at all. Also just to be clear, the only reason I am posting this review online is because they texted me the day after the service asking me to write a review. So the content of the review and the fact that it is here at all is all on them.
Pinnacle repair did a great job inspecting our van. I made an appointment for 9am, and brought the car down. The check-in was a piece of cake, even though it was my first visit. They are a VERY busy garage, though, and I needed to leave the van with them all day (9am to 5:30 pm), but I didnt need it all day, so that was fine in my case. Be sure to let them know if youre in a big rush (they were super-accommodating with me when the found a problem that needed attention before they could FULLY sign off on the inspection), they *might* be able to accommodate you, too!Ill be bringing my car back for any other work it might need!
Had a terrible experience attempting to get my PA state inspection completed here. I brought by brand new car in for PA inspection. The vehicle was purchased out of state and my registration had not yet come in the mail. Had an electronic copy and arrived 10 minutes early for my 2pm appointment.I waited 5 minutes at the window before someone finally came up to assist. The man goes “what?” I explain to him I had an appointment for inspection. He immediately demands registration, license and insurance. As I gather my materials I explain I have electronic copy of registration as the paper had not come in mail yet. He started yelling “nope! Paper copy only! Paper copy only.” I asked if I could email to be printed on one of the 4 printers sitting in front of us and he kept yelling “paper copy only paper copy only!”He laughed amongst coworkers as I walked out. I realized they had over booked and were just tying to find a way to lessen their workload. They could have just explained they were behind and I would have gladly rescheduled.Terrible customer service. Would not recommend to anyone.Update: this individual responded to my review in similar fashion to the original interaction. Notice how he did not comment about the mistreatment of a customer, but rather fixated on being “right.” No apology for yelling and certainly no explanation of his printers not working at the time of my visit. The reality is, if his printers actually didn’t work, this would have been a non issue, as I would want printed proof of a completed inspection and would not have my car inspected somewhere that could not provide this. Despite his coworker never mentioning the requirement for a paper copy over the phone, he insisted that it must have been mentioned and uses this as justification to yell and berate his clientele ... I happen to know there was no mentioning of this requirement over the phone, but I’m less concerned with that fact and more concerned over how this guy acted in public toward a client. The truth is, as justified as you may feel for yelling and acting that way to a customer in front of other customers, it’s unprofessional and uncalled for. As right as you may think you were - it’s not right for your business because now you lost a potential customer and gained poor word of mouth reviews amongst many more in my network. How right does that feel?
I have taken my car here to get my tires switched out twice a year for several years now. Tom and the team at Pinnacle always do a great job and get me in quickly. I even needed a full set of winter tires last year and they were able to get me in the next day and get the tires in my car. I highly recommend them!
I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change on 10/28/19. I dropped my vehicle off in the morning on my way to work. Tom from the body shop called me mid-morning to inform me I would need 2 new tires. I asked if it could wait because they are new from 9/25/17 from a different auto body shop and I was surprised I would need new tires. I said they are under warranty and I have paperwork. He said well they are at 5/32 and you will be back in a few weeks if you don’t replace them now. I said well if my car is with you now and you’re saying I’ll be back in 3 weeks then you might as well put them on while you have my car. When I picked up my vehicle that evening, my car was parked far away from the shop. I paid my bill as they were closing. The next morning I called Tom about my warranty. He said well we threw out the tires so I’m not sure what we can do. I questioned why given I previously stated prior to the work that I had a warranty. The rest is all down hill. I have 26 documented phone calls And emails made from November 2019 through June 2020 to resolve. I spoke with the Manager Demond most of these times who said he is trying to work on a solution with the owner but without the tires, not sure what they can do. In addition, I have called Firestone myself 3 times to understand the warranty process and they advised me to contact the BBB given the service I’ve been receiving and the fact that no experienced shop should have taken tires off my vehicle at 5/32 tread. That should only be recommended on my vehicle at 2/32. I have been extremely patient and courteous but enough is enough!! Over 30+ documented emails and phone calls and no response. Unethical and unprofessional!
Great / fast service, solid prices. I went in for two new front tires, and they gave me the option to match the tread and quality to my existing tires, which was great for someone like me who doesnt know much about cars. They were done the same day, but I couldnt get there until the day after, so they stored it safely for me overnight. Definitely going back.
Ive been coming here for years, specifically because of Damon. Ive had dumpy cars where Pinnacle had to work with me to manage from one repair to the next & they were fair with pricing; and Ive brought new cars here where all I needed was an oil change done swiftly. They’re responsive, friendly and speedy. I have a positive feeling about this specific mechanic shop, whereas a lot of people hate taking their car to the mechanic.
This is going to be a bit of a mixed bag.On Monday I called and was told to come in on Wednesday morning. I did. They told me no space without appointment... Which I had so that got resolved. My tire had a nail. I came in the morning and was told the vehicle will be ready by the evening/early Thursday. That works for me- I had to leave for NYC by 2 on Thursday so things seemed to be going well.Around 5 on Wednesday I call and am told my car is next up to be given a thorough looking-over.Around 10 on Thursday I call and am told they are working on it.Around 11 I receive an email with a quoted price significantly higher than what was discussed prior.I call and am told that the tire will need to be replaced and that this is a special tire they dont have in the shop and it needs to be ordered right now so it will come in time.I call back and agree to this, and am told it will be done in an hour. I call back at 2 and am told I will receive a call when it is done.Got the call at 3.The great thing is that they reliably pick up the phone and seem to be legitimately busy. The communication about time expectations was a bit unfortunate. Usually I dont care another day one way or another but I needed to get to NYC to visit an old lady. luckily I got there in time. Tomorrow Im driving to her funeral.Folks are friendly. They pick up the phone. Shop is busy. But time expectations are not well managed
I had a great experience getting a tire replaced with Pinnacle. They were friendly, professional, affordable, and timely. As far as I’m concerned if you can tick all of those boxes you are doing it right. Would definitely use their services again and recommend to friends and family.
I took my car to Pinnacle for a PA inspection and oil change. They didn’t pass the inspection and told me I’d have to pay 4K to fix the car. Took the car to the dealership the next day — they told me the oil in the car hadn’t been changed but the car itself was fine — passed my inspection with no issue. I had to pay Pinnacle 300 dollars just to get it out of there and they never even changed the oil. Instead, they failed my inspection to coerce me into paying for work that didn’t need to be done.
I’ll never return here. They’re rip-off artists. Told me I needed new rear brakes and rotors in order to pass inspection (I probably didn’t need them but wasn’t going to argue). Not only was I overcharged for them, they replaced my drilled and slotted rotors with standard ones. On top of this, I was charged for the repair of a license plate bulb which is still out. On top of that I was charged $250 in labor for them doing literally the bare minimum. Ridiculous. Save your frustration and money and go somewhere else.
We have been going to Pinnacle Automotive for over 8 years. Pinnacle has taken care of anything from oil changes, tires, state inspections and emergency repairs. They are extremely accommodating with our schedule and have been constantly available to quickly take care of our cars. Their service is excellent and their prices are great. I have recommended them to friends and they have been just as happy with them. I highly recommend them and appreciate all great work they do for us!
I had to reschedule my annual car inspection a few times (it was a bit of a fiasco finding the right time with 3 little kids and one on the way), and most shops would act a little annoyed at me. Not these guys. They were super nice about it and instead of punishing me with a delay, they took care of my car right away when I was finally able to bring it to them. They also topped up the air in tires on request. Very cool guys and they care about doing a good job too. Great having Pinnacle right here in the neighborhood.
Ive been taking my car to Pinnacle for years and they are the best. They offer fast, friendly service, and I always feel like they are honest about what my car needs - and what it doesnt. For a city-dweller like me who knows next-to-nothing about cars, having a trustworthy expert like Pinnacle is essential.
Tech was professional, took the time to explain everything both over the phone and in person, immediately knew my problem from my *wonderful* sound-effects description but double-checked everything else just in case. He told me there were a few more things I might fix over the next months to a year but in no way tried to up-sell or pressure me. I felt that his business would never charge me for a service my truck didnt NEED. And now it runs super smooth, he did an incredible job. Hands down I will be back - finding a place like this is puts my mind at ease!
These guys are the real deal. Great people and great prices. I am someone who doesnt necessarily know a ton about cars, so I do not love going into a shop not really knowing if someone is going to take advantage of me or not. That fear left me as soon as I showed up and had the guys walk me through every step of the process. If I ever have an issue with my car, I have no hesitation to take it right back to Pinnacle.
Pinnacle Auto has worked on my and my Moms vehicles for years. We will not go anywhere else. The work, professionalism, courtesy and prompt turnaround time is Supurb! And, its nice to see the same faces year after year.Prior to being Pinnacle customers, it was often intimidating as women to walk into a shop for an inspection and find out other things were wrong , pay for them, not knowing if we was taken or not?At Pinnacle, we know the staff is completely honest and conveys the issues so it is understandable prior to check out.We highly recommend Pinnacle and even if it takes a little while to get there we are life long customers and commend the Owner and Staff for Above, Excellent Service! Thank you.
I like working with these guys. I lease my car so I haven’t needed repairs for years, but I do get my oil changes and inspections done there. Got a great tip when I got my new car inspection this week...to call the dealer and find out where I should send my receipt for reimbursement. He said, “they didn’t tell you that at the dealer, did they??” I said no, and THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
I recently purchase a 2019 new car in NJ which required a PA Safety and Emissions Inspection. Last Saturday, I called 3 Philadelphia inspection stations and each one could not help for 3-4 days. Pinnacle was able help right away, was standing by when I got there, the shop was clean, the mechanics were very nice and they got right to work. While we waited, walked down to the Italian Market 2 blocks away, came back and all was complete. The mechanics let me know that the dealership would reimburse me for the inspection and they were right. Pinnacle has earned our business.
I took my car for brakes and with the understanding that it would be done the same day. When they called me with what all I needed to have done, it was both front and back brakes, and both front and back Rogers. In addition they added tires which I did not ask for. The invoice was over $1000. Because they could not have my car done the same day which I expressed was a need to the mechanic I told them not to do the work. As a result I was charged a diagnostic fee of $110. I was completely taken advantage of because Im a woman. Nonetheless, I took my car somewsomewhere else and all I needed was front and back brakes. This place is a complete rip off and their business tactics are unethical. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone and if given a quote please get a second opinion. This place is dishonest and extremely overpriced! Might I add they tried to charge me for a key battery as well which I did not ask for.
Very shady place. Took my car in (May 2020) for an estimate and they went ahead and did unwanted repairs without approval -- then held car hostage. Offered a cash discount because they say saves us from paying taxes. Pretty obvious the 5-star reviews are all written by owner/employees. Stay away.
Needed to get the tires changed on my car. Pinnacle was able to get my car back to me the next day which was very helpful. After picking up my car I had not realized but I must have dropped one of my spare keys. The keys were returned to Pinnacle because they still had the Pinnacle tag on it. Unfortunately the keys were in parts, must have been ran over or something. Tom was able to put the key back together which I am very grateful for.
About a month go, my car would not go in reverse and I was desperate to get my car fix. I took my car to Pinnacle and the service was great as I thought. It cost me $2,300 for a new transmission, 4 tires and inspection. I am greatfull for there service due to me not having all my paperwork. I went back last week because I heard a loud noise thinking it was the transmission. In fact it is my rear hub assemblies that need to be replaced. Easy job for just a couple of hours. I was quoted $313 for each bearing and $880 for the total job. I was skeptical. So I went to Auto Zone and they quoted 128.99+tax for each Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly - rear. What a huge difference in price!? If Pinnacle over quoted me for a small job, did they over price me the transmission job? I am disappointed :(
Found a big screw in my tire and brought it here for repair, once I was there I could see the shop was professional and busy, so I decided to have them install new brakes as well. Tom was quick to give a quote and was great with communication and getting me back in my truck asap! I recommend this place, Ill definitely check in with them again for future issues.
Ordered an alignment and a new gas cap for an evap system problem. The service was good, but I was told that Id be called if they actually found a need to do any work, but I never received a call. There was also a hefty fee just to get the code for the check engine (which I had already gotten for free at AutoZone and the like), and I wasnt told about it until I had to pay.
I love this shop. Very honest & upfront with their customers. Ive never had a bad experience with them... besides getting bad news of whats wrong with the vehicle, that is. Lol. The repairs were always done right the 1st time & I havent had to comeback for the same repair or issue. Theyve been in business for quite a few years & Mark, the owner, is top notch, good quality person in general. They arent a chain repair facility, which I also am a fan of! I support my local, American owned small businesses whenever possible.
So helpful, so friendly, so professional, so quick, and they even remembered me by name! They went ABOVE and BEYOND to help me. I was surprised! I sincerely appreciated their support, and felt good about investing my money into this business. I would absolutely do business with Pinnacle Auto again. Thank you!
Extremely friendly and helpful service! They gave me a straightforward estimate for additional services but didn’t pressure me to buy anything. They even topped off some of the fluids I was thinking to replace at no extra cost. Thanks for your help team! I’ll definitely be back.
The car was shimmying a ton, and the system monitor said it was time for new brakes.Pinnacle replaced my brake pads, rotors, and sensors. Tom let me drop off my car 3 days earlier than he initially wanted me to (I didnt feel safe driving my kids in the car after we almost slid into a guard rail on the highway). He returned it to me in about 36 hours, and saved me +$800 over what the BMW dealership wanted to charge for the job.Weve been taking our cars to Pinnacle for the last 8 or 9 years - a Mini Cooper, an Audi A4, and now a BMW X1. Weve also gone to a BMW dealership and AAA, and a few places out of state before we moved to Philadelphia and when issues popped up while we were traveling. Ive heard that foreign cars can be a headache, but I wouldnt know it from my experience at Pinnacle. Always timely service at a price that beats the competition. If youre in the area, I cant see any reason to go anywhere besides Pinnacle.
Great experience! While on a short visit to philly, I wanted to get my sons cars bad sounding front end taken care of. Tom fit us in on a busy Saturday - provided a prompt assessment and completed the job - including the replacement of an unsafe tire- by their 2:00 closing time. He was professional and affordable - glad to know we have a trustworthy shop we can depend on!
These guys are dirty. Went for an inspection 6 months ago, and they told me I barely passed. They told me my brakes were barely legal, and that all 4 brakes and rotors would need replacing. They also told me that all 4 struts would need replacing because one was leaking a bit. Couldnt afford the $1200 quote they gave me, so started saving. Just got my vehicle inspected again at a honda dealership, they guaranteed that the front brakes were fine, that only the back brakes could use replacement. And even those had some life still on them. Also the rear rotors could take a resurfacing, and didnt need replacement. The struts were no big deal, and could wait a long while. Those Pinnacle guys made me scared to drive the thing the 20 minutes home. I feel lied to. Dont go there.
$103 for an oil change. I was pretty stunned. My fault though for relying on what seemed like decent Google reviews and not getting a quote first. I called two other Mazda dealers in the area after and both charge less than $65, all in, for the exact same thing. I asked why it was so high and was told that they have to use synthetic oil (confirmed the dealers quote was for that and for my exact model and year) and they do a 30 point inspection. When I asked for a copy of my 30 point inspection, I was told they keep that for their files. Ill just have to find comfort in assuming they actually do keep it and that they price their oil changes so high to stay competitive on more expensive work.
I called with a last minute emergency need for an inspection on my boss car. Everyone was extremely friendly from the man that answered the phone to all the mechanics that greeted me walking in. I was in and out in no time. I live all the way out in West Philadelphia but I will certainly make a trip back over to Pinnacle the next time I need service on my car or if my boss lets his inspection lapse again LOL.
Thanks to the work being done on Broad st. Where they tore up half the black top and the utility mains are exposed I gave my best attempt at negating or negotiating the big metal pipe caps but one must have got my tire and I needed a nitrogen fill which is not easy to find. I called +Pinnacle Auto Repair and scheduled an appointment in a pinch. I learned a lot about Nitrogen and the benefit. When you have low tire pressure they actually deflate and refill all the tires not just one. It takes about an hour. They got me in and out and were very nice. The price was reasonable. Also they have an awesome cigar collection, and recently completed mural on the side of the building by the guy/Artist from South street with the mirror murals. (When I find his name Ill insert)
I brought my vehicle here to get repaired. They tried to charge me $880 to get the repairs I needed. Upon researching the problem, I found that this was almost 3X the cost it should have been. After calling to say I would get the work done elsewhere, I was first told that they already started working on the car overnight (even though they said they had to order parts that would not come in until the next day) which was a lie, then told to come and pick up my God damn car! by Tom on the phone. When I came to pick up my car, I was told I had to pay extraneous fees before getting my keys back, Then was yelled at by Lamont about how honest they were. I got my car fixed for $330 at a reputable business. The actual repair was very different then they estimated, no parts needed to be ordered. Im pretty sure a lot of their reviews on here and on Yelp are fake.
The best all purpose auto shop in the city, I chose this place initially because it was centrally located and have now been back 5 times over the last 3 years for maintenance and repairs. Always willing to work with you and around your schedule and very fair pricing. Great team at this place as well.
Just because theyre nice doesnt mean they arent trying to scam you. Im truly not one to leave bad reviews-or reviews in general but I feel as though I should share my experience with this place since I decided to go there based on reviews. As a young female, Im unfortunately used to attempts to be taken advantage of so I was naturally weary when I took my car in for an oil change and was called up being told I needed new breaks, rotors, and windshield wipers (still dont understand how they thought I would just accept that when its my own car and I can physically see the windshield wipers). Anyway- I told them I would prefer to just do the oil change ( which cost me $83- I read a review that said the oil changes were a little overpriced) They continued to try and scare me into getting the work done- and even thought theyd be able to convince me once I got there, I think, because I had to wait 45 minutes for them to get my car down off the lift even though they had told me the oil change was done before I came to pick it up. I took my car home to a mechanic I trust who informed me I didnt need any of the work they tried to convince me of. My mechanic informed me that I even probably have at least an other year before any of that work will need to be done. Just because they are nice doesnt mean they arent scummy and if they arent intentionally scummy, then they dont know what they are talking about. Either way, I wouldnt trust them!
Ive used Pinnacle for about 5 years now and theyve serviced 3 different vehicles, they are always honest, the work is done quickly and professionally, and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend to anyone looking for good service and value in center city/ south philly.
Just got my windshield replaced and needed new registration/emissions stickers made. This place told me they can’t make new ones for me because i didn’t get my initial inspection there. I went to another garage nearby and they replaced the stickers without any issue.
Got an oil change there for the first time. Was a bit expensive in my opinion. (which I told them and they said you have to pay for quality work which makes this next part so ironic) I go to get another oil change at another place after 3000 miles, and they tell me the last person who did my oil change shoved the screw on the drain plug so hard that now they cant get it off without replacing my drain plug and pan. Dont know if they did it so that I would have to come back in and have them fix it or if they were doing lazy/sloppy work. Either way I wont be returning to them and I dont trust them to do anything simple, let alone complicated to my car.
What else can i say these guys rock!!!!! Pinnacle has always given me the best service at great prices. You can try shopping around yourself and youll see what i mean they use quality parts and are still able to be competitive with other shops and most of the time beat their prices and you know you arent getting ripped off with shody parts and bad workmanship. I would give pinnacle 5 stars these guys are the best. Thanks guys for always being the best around!!!
I dropped off my 2010 f-150 to get the 2front tires forced road balance they said I need a hub centering for the wheels but I can they know that if the wheels rims are dirty and there’s no fingerprints on the wheels and where the weights g are stick is dirty unless they are magicians I will never recommend them to anyone not even my worst enemy
Everyone at this shop was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone! I talked to multiple employees when I was there and each one was very professional and friendly. The prices were standard as well. If you need help with anything, I would go here!
Im a bit confused about the negative reviews on here as they lack facts and rely on baseless accusations (one person must have written all of these reviews because they sound similar!) Ive had nothing but top-notch service and honesty from these guys. In fact, Ive sent my wife in with our vehicles on a number of occasions and theyve always been incredibly honest with her, despite it being easy to trick her into paying for unnecessary fixes. In fact, theyve gone above and beyond almost every time Ive taken our vehicles there. When having a newly purchased, used truck inspected there, my wife mentioned a rattle in the cabin of the truck that was driving me insane. They took the time to find it, found that it was only a loose cargo rack on top of the truck and didnt charge a penny after tightening everything up. I trust these guys, and to me, thats the most important thing when dealing with an auto repair shop. The quality of work is excellent as well!

2022-02-16I called them because I needed a particular tire. They ordered it for me and had it available on the day they said they would. I drop the car off and they called me later that day to let me know I could pick it up. Their staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was excellent. I also found that they did not price gouge me. I’ve had many repairs done to various cars over the years, so I found the tire replacement to be very reasonable.

2022-05-02Female here... who knows absolutely nothing about cars:I visited Pinnnacle for the first time last summer due to a flat. Im so happy about my experience. I was telling the mechanic how i had just gotten a new tire, and he was like are you sure?.... he then did a walk-around of my vehicle and explained how the last guy ripped me off. The fact that he took the time to thoroughly explain things, and tell me what to watch out for, meant a lot.honest people, great work, great pricesthanks again!!!

2022-05-13Not the first time I’ve gotten work done at this place and as usual the work was excellent! I have a classic car and these guys always treat it as such. The mechanics are knowledgable and at times, entertaining. Never a dull moment or bad service at Pinnacle auto, take from an almost 2 year customer.

2022-05-29I had a really difficult time getting an inspection through about a dozen other mechanics. I finally called Pinnacle and they got me in the next day and out in 90 minutes. The service was impeccable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Demond in particular helped me schedule my appointment. I was so impressed, I’m a lifetime customer. No more Pep Boys for me!

2022-06-03I understand asking for reviews, but this is the 3rd time in 48 hours, so 4 stars primarily cause of that. Otherwise pretty good, price good, oil change and filter change so nothing crazy, but they were fair on price and had it done within the time they said. Would use again

2022-04-21I’ve used Pinnacle twice now for inspections. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing both times and they were so nice to walk me through the process. Just told me to show up and they’d help me. Great people. Great business.
