They have a decent menu, AYCE crab legs on Mondays for $35, local pub fare, burgers and fried foods, some home-style meals with a fair selection of daily specials at moderate prices; nice local crowd whom show up for events like the Cornhole Tournament at the end of the Summer; attentive staff of friendly waitresses and bar staff, but could have better drink specials; three sided bar with a few televisions throughout for viewing the games, etc.; clean bathroom; awesome outdoor deck partially covered, partially uncovered for those whom enjoy the sun, which also becomes an enclosed deck with protection from the weather for the cooler weather; jukebox and ATM (because its CASH ONLY)
Food was all good. Mixed drinks good. Service best it could be under the circumstances. We got there around 4:30. The bar was full. There was nobody else in the dining room and the bartender was the only server, and obviously very busy. A second server and another bartender came in around 5:00. We elected to sit in the dining room since the bar was full. I had the seafood soup special which was excellent. Also the pulled pork quesadillas special, very good. My wife had the filet romaine salad. Atmosphere is an older local bar inside. They also have an enclosed deck which looked nice. The patrons there were friendly and accommodating to guide us since it was obviously our first time there. One guy at the bar gave us his wifes menu until the bartender could get over to greet us. We will try it again.
By the time we get there the place was really packed.Theres no sign saying if we can seat our self or we have to wait to be seated. No waitress there either when we walked in (it was busy night I can tell). So we just pick empty seat.Else than that, I can say the food was great. Especially if you can appreciate spicy food or food with different spices else than salt and pepper. The French onion soup was great. The spiciest chicken wings also awesome, not just Tabasco sour taste. Fries looks great as well. Will definitely return and recommend this place---maybe come at normal days not weekend or Friday night when they are very busy.
My son and I had dinner there on Saturday, Nov 6th, 2021. The service was terrible. I made the mistake of ordering their “award winning” ribs. I literally bent the knife trying to cut them. They were inedible. The server said, yeah this is the third time today they were sent back. Then why would you let me order them??? The tap beer was flat and served in a dirty glass. I have no clue how this place is still in business. I will not be back.
Absolutely delicious. We ate the snapper soup and New England clam chowder. We also had the Asian Pork Shank appetizer, which tasted phenomenal. Our entrees were the chicken quesadilla and the grilled romaine salad with the arrowhead filet, it was all very very good! Would highly recommend the outdoor eating area!
First time there. With a group of 10 girlfriends. Food was terrific.. .had the Alaskan Haddock. Most of the group had the beef sandwiches, which looked delicious. Server, Alisa was on the ball...took care of us well. Would definitely go back. Heads up...cash only... wasnt a problem for us as most knew ahead of time
Been going to Rons since before I was legally allowed to drink. Not because they serve minors, rather its a great place to eat with family and friends. Great prices great portions great atmosphere. Havent eaten the wings in forever but if theyre still the same, they were the best. Rons always there to offer a friendly welcome and a rip of his hat.
Not often you get a cheese steak that is memorable but WOW, best one in awhile. Will go back again for sure. Friendly staff even though they were working their butts off. Wait was long but the food was excellent and made it well worth it. Prices are average for the area and smoking is only allowed at the far end of the outside deck area. Not much to look at but youre not going to look, your going for the best food in the area.
Waited about 20 minutes to receive menus or get asked for drinks. The waitress walked past us several times. The only reason we received menus was because I sought out a bartender and asked for service. When I did receive my drink it was the wrong drink (a Busch instead of a Busch light) and I had to ask to receive the side that listed as coming with my meal. The mussels in red sauce were not terrible, the mussels were actually pretty good but the pasta tasted and looked like I microwaved a lean cuisine. The sauce had the same viscosity as water. My girlfriend informed me that the Arrowhead filet was not bad and she did not regret ordering it.Overall, the service was horrible. This includes the cooking and wait times, not just our waitress who neglected her job to multiple tables that we noticed. The prices for the food were reasonable but the drink prices seemed steep for a small town bar. I will personally not return here.FYI, this is cash only (this did not affect my rating as I should have noted this before I arrived)
Upfront tip-They dont take credit cards so prepare with cash or use their ATM $2.25 fee. Lovely back deck that I couldnt use due to chill in the air. Would have loved to find this place a little sooner. The menu is type I like where it can fit most budgets. Choices range in $ to $$$ prices. I chose fish and chips. Did not choose wrong. A large piece of fried haddock with skin on French fries was delivered to our table. The true test for me is the tartar sauce. I am a fan of the sour sauce due to the relish. And I did RELISH the sauce. My husband has a very narrow food selection. He, for once tried a new dish Herb Chicken with Garlic sauce over linguini. He asked them to hold the mushrooms & spinach. He really enjoyed it. This is a place we will return to so I can enjoy the outdoor eating.
We based our visit on the stellar reviews seen here, and wow, it really disappointed. To start, there were only two other tables occupied outside on the deck where we were seated, and it took the sole waitress 20 minutes to get a drink order. The taps had definitely not been cleaned in a long time as was apparent with the taste of the drinks we were served, (soda and beer). Our food order took another twenty minutes and an additional half hour to get our food, (cold sub sandwhiches ... in an empty restaurant ... should take five minutes max). I took one bite of my sandwich and immediately realized that it was filled with bottom shelf deli meats, the only exception being that they used old world provolone, one bite of which masks and overtakes all other flavors. I had gone inside at one point to find a restroom when I witnessed the waitress flirting with the singular patron sitting at the bar, (this was while we were waiting for our food order). I do not understand how this place has so many high ratings. I will never go back.
Ive had blackened tuna everywhere but this little hidden gem far exceeded any of those other places. It was cooked to perfection and coupled with some drizzled hot spicy sauces and a crunchy shell of taco, it is the best around. Love the pool table and dart board and outdoor seating.
This was my third time at Rons and the last two times service was great food was very good. I was there a few days ago with my wife and two other couples. Service was still great but the food was just horrible, wings taste like fish, fried chicken was cold in the center, quesadilla were edible but they also had a funny taste and the cheesesteaks were so so, the french fries were just plain old nasty. We told the waitress about how horrible the food was and she told us that they had a new cook and she made this face like we werent the only people that complain about the cook. Well in my opinion,I think they need to fire that cook. We wont be go back to Rons until they get a better cook.
Wow! Never thought Id find Ribs like these in Pottstown! The meat fell off the bone! It was worth every penny. My wife had the fish and chips and she enjoyed that as well. You have to check this place out if youre in the area. Unfortunately its CASH Only, so be prepared!

2022-04-06We always have a great time when Lisa and I go to Rons crooked tavern. The food is always on point and the price is reasonable, the staff is always happy to help in any way they can. We really like the outdoor patio they have, its a great neighborhood atmosphere where everyone knows your name or someone you know does. I will most definitely tell friends and family which I have been doing every since I went for the 1st time. Will I go again I already have, love this place.

2022-04-04Food was great! My only complaint is they need more help. 1 person working the bar, waitressing, and cleaning tables.

2022-06-05When its not too busy the service is pretty good, otherwise prepare for fairly long periods of time between visits from your server. Sitting at the bar isnt too bad for service but I dont care to eat at the bar.Food has always been very good.Outside on the deck on a nice evening with the right temperature is great.French onion soup is needlessly salty. Needlessly you say? Yes, because there are any number of other places that make it with far less salt.

2022-07-09The place has great food and drinks! Unfortunately, the owner is not a nice person. When I tried to tell him that we recently found his place and really enjoyed it he just totally ignored me even though he was sitting at the bar right next to my friend and I. My friend said she heard him saying some not so nice things to the bar maid who obviously works for him. My suggestion is to sit outside, when possible, so you dont need to hear his loud antics with his buddies. The only other downfall is that they only accept cash but at least they do have an ATM.

2022-07-23Great local bar with amazing food. Lots of regulars, sports on TV, great music and excellent service almost always guaranteed. You can sit inside, outside under an enclosure or outside on the deck. Great ribs, and fish and chips. Their filet tips over fries with hollandaise sauce appetizer is a meal in itself and my favorite app. Rons is a great hidden Gem. Once you go you will know why its popular and why you will want to go back 🥳

2022-06-16Waitress was awesome! Food was decent, but not amazing. By biggest qualm with this establishment was the amount of time it took to get our food.We waited about 27 minutes for our mozerella sticks and another 25 minutes after that for our burgers.Outside of that, waitress was good, seating was prompt and its a cool local place with an old school vibe.

2021-04-29Excellent tuna tacos, and a great outdoor dining area. The fries had a hint of rosemary and were delicious. Decent selection of beer to include local craft beer. Server was kind and attentive. Only drawback is it is cash only :-(

2022-06-25I crave their blue cheese dressing as weird as it sounds. Cater to my gluten free needs when I ask. Wish they werent cash only.

2022-06-27Horrible experience! Waited 50 minutes for a mediocre cheese steak and two tacos. Add insult to injury, the food wasnt very warm. I think I counted about ten people in the place. I wouldnt recommend this place.
