Went for the home show.. Probably wont go back to another one. There. We were badgered for work...A few places I submitted my info for because of raffles to win prizes..got nothing but un wanted phone calls and emails to solicit everything from gutters to medical devices..Id give a lower score to the home show. Not the ice garden.
I really like this rink, it has an old school vibe with the copious amount of wood paneling, the vaulted (not sure if thats the right description) ceiling beams and the large amount of seating. You can tell its an older facility based on the seating - nobody builds rinks with anything remotely close to spacious seating anymore. Not sure if they had a minor league team here back in the day or what, but I appreciate the extra space. Plus, there is a nice bar/restaurant that is on the second level and overlooks the rink, with a viewing area that stretches across the width of rink. Very cool. The one minor gripe - it was bitterly cold inside the rink. Yes, all rinks are generally cold but some more so than others. Ive only been here once, so maybe it was an outlier, but it was cold. All told, I hope my boy has some more games here in the near future.Update:. After coming here roughly a dozen+ times, I have to say this place resembles a tool shed inside a meat freezer. I still generally like the place, but they leave a ton of potential on the table.

I went & watched a circus. The performers were amazin.
Was at the home show there. It was a good home and garden show.
It was cold the ice was awful and the locker room showers were yellow and moldy.
We went to a comedy show. It was excellent 👍
Stop there with my car for a car show. Car show was fantastic very well run. Had lunch at murphs pub menu was written with a sharpie marker on a piece of white paper. Had two hot dogs cooked in a microwave and chips on a plate served with no napkin and I had to ask for a drink $7. No fountain drinks only had cans $2 a can. Will definitely attend more car cruises at the ice garden. But wont be stopping back in at murphs, pub!
Nice facility. Wear an extra layer, as, like most smaller arenas, it is a bit chilly in the bleachers. Great lounge attached with a nice terrace view from one end of the ice. Very hospitable staff
Great place. The ice is really well maintained. The food is great, and inexpensive. If you are an experienced skater Friday evenings are fun. If your just learning go Sunday during the day when there are less people, and buckets to help you learn. Great place, well kept, and a lot of fun for the whole family.
Good place for the kids to play hockey at. Everything else, not so great.

Sadly I have to say that this place needs some massive work. It is not handicap friendly currently I am dealing with a broken ankle and the ability to actually get to the stands is dangerous. The floors are uneven and I actually fell very hard with a broken ankle and using a knee scooter because the floors are so heavily sloped in a race track like manner which I don’t understand why, and caused me to have more injuries than I sustained them before I got there!!!!! It’s freezing cold, there is zero heat in this place, finally they put up a net so that you can’t get whacked with a puck that bounces off the ice that is so hard at least that’s an improvement I guess I can say. But their seats are not bolted down, and it is a very sad and depressing place! There’s never any staff around to ask a question. I needed... stress NEEDED GUIDANCE for Their handicap access... after assessing the situation, is pretty much nonexistent. If I didn’t have somebody there with me to first of all help pick me up after I fell on their uneven floors that slope like a 30° angle, there’s also not any way to hold the door open if you are in anyway needing assistance, and just overall it’s horrific. Who still uses a diesel Zamboni with no ventilation in an enclosed space?? Safety is a major factor in that area and that’s really sad! Still looking for a manager or somebody to call to let them know what happened in the injuries I sustained🙄
We have gone here on a date, and with the kids for a family outing. I recommend if your children are just learning to go during the day on Sunday, not on Friday nights. The place is packed, and there are really young kids who dont pay attention to their surroundings. If you are not someone who knows how to skate well please dont go then because you could get hurt, or hurt the children who are not aware of their surroundings. Otherwise a great place. The ice is amazing and the food is inexpensive but good.

One of the worst ice rinks Ive played, at those boards have no give and are incredibly dangerous, not to mention every part of the rink is run down and decrepit except for the ceiling, that had to be replaced because it collapsed
There is nothing wrong with this ice rink. It is your typical hockey rink. We came for open skate with a group. For the most part we enjoyed ourselves. One of my complaints would be there is not enough buckets for the young children. This was one of the reason we chose this venue. Also their skates are older but work just fine I recommend wearing thicker socks and going a half size up.
Not too bad. I attended a kids birthday party and they had a blast out on the ice. The place wasnt really run down but it is in need if some updating. All in all its a good place to take your kids for a few hours and enjoy yourself.
They have Miller High life at Murphs 💯
Pretty unsanitary and the employees were not the nicest. Very crowded especially on Fridays and weekends. (the only time anyone can go) The skates that we rented were very worn out and difficult to skate in. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
This place was awful. Took my family there for their learn to skate class. No one was helpful. Finally got my son on the ice and they said his skate were too big and to get him smaller ones. Went back up and no employees to be found anywhere. By the time I got him on the ice all the teachers were gone. One of worst experiences anywhere
Seen a lot of great wrestling all the way back to the ECW hung out with Sabu sandman good memories
Though, this rink is old it is a very nice rink. It won Hockeyville USA 2017, and a lot of repairs have been made. I hope they can improve more and eventually attract more people.

Old and COLD! I can accept a place not having the newest look but the exhaust from the zambonie never cleared and was overwhelming. Do something about this. It is dangerous for the kids.

Wish they didnt have people selling stuff constantly during the circus. Then its sad that the kids with little or no money couldnt not only buy the items they were waving around the entire time but couldnt see the show from them being distracted by it. Really Really unthoughtful. Guess thats how it works though. Not much about the experience, mostly about profit
The rink is nice, the facilities ok. I love the old ceilings and the snack bar when it is opened. The coaches that do learns to skate are fantastic.

My family and I went skating at the Ice Garden over Christmas. Everyone had a great time. It seemed like a family oriented place. All the staff was very helpful and friendly.
There is no way this arena is safe for check-level hockey. The rink is encased in cement for 3/4s of the perimeter so there is absolutely no give when there is contact along the boards. Somebodys kid is going to get killed...
Old rink has issues , locker rooms are just as bad, no pro shop , the whole rink leans towards the benches , boards are not even straight. Ehh, but staff is awesome and helpful!

Absolutely horrible experience. None of the on ice rules were enforced by the on ice worker. People standing in the way not skating, others speed skating, food on the ice, tobacco use on the ice, and yes tobacco spit on the ice where people were falling down. Nothing was said.....by ANY of the employees. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.........I know I will.
Nice rink, but they need to turn on a little bit of heat. Youre better off watching game from the attached bar/restaurant.
Facility shows its age and the skates for rent are pretty ancient. The location is terrible, it is hidden and out of the way. If driving by it is very easy to miss, the location is just invisible.
What great fun! Friendly staff, clean, good food, but many of the rental skates are well worn.
By far one of the coldest rinks i ever visited. Not a bad facility but not great either. They do have a pub and snack area.
They held the annual Mon Valley Home Show this past weekend. Quite a nice show, but was surprised that none of the wineries were there.
I attended a hobby show at the ice garden. The building was quite adequate for the show. I dont recommend the concession stand food.
We actually went to a car cruise in the parking lot of the Rostraver ice rink. It was nice size lot and alot of classic cars.
Worst food my family ate there wings were the whole chicken wing but the normal ones your buy at normal restaurants there burgers tasting like dollor burgers sauce tasted like they got it at dollor tree 1/100 would not recommend

The staff looks like they couldn’t care less and they make rude and obnoxious comments to you they are not a nice place to go to. I would suggest going anywhere besides this place. That is my opinion so you don’t have to argue
Smelled like fried food when we walked in the door. Needs updated and just so so when it comes to the food. Would not go again.

This was horrible my child who does not know how to skate fell. So, the ice patrollers come over to him and say Get your as* of the fuc**** ice. Maybe you should not hire the first people that apply for the job.😒😠😏

2021-10-11We used the Verso room for our wedding reception a long with the in house catering. Jim Murphy and his staff were fantastic. Absolutely went all they way for us . Very accommodating and we used Murphy’s pub for our rehearsal dinner . The food from the catering and the pub was phenomenal. We had the hall three days before our wedding to decorate and the staff helped us clean up and even carry stuff to our vehicles !

2022-03-11Great place for a night out at Murphys Pub for a pizza and a cold one watching a hockey game and skating, you can lace up a pair of skates and get on the ice yourself for a skate!!(bring your knee pads lol!!) Or even check out a comedy show in the Maxim Room on Saturday nights they are a great time, I have been to be plenty and will be at plenty more!! Definitely recommend to everyone!!

2022-06-05We went to the circus here. The kids loved it. Prices for concessions and animals were absolutely exuberant though so we will definitely be going somewhere else thats worth the actual money next time.

2021-02-26A great old hockey barn! My daughter loved playing here. Visitors should layer up, it gets rather cold in the bleachers. What I found most interesting was a crew of hockey cats that live at the arena, my kids found this particularly interesting!

2022-04-14We were there for a craft and vendor show. Everything was social distanced. Masks were optional, some vendors and some visitors were wearing them. Was a very nice relaxing day.

2018-12-29Kids had fun skating. $7 admission for adults; $6 for under 16-yrs. $3 for skate rental. Well maintained. Nice staff. Prompt snack bar staff. Good experience.

2018-12-23Had a gr8 time watching my niece skating with a Christmas tree her grandfather Mike Roscoe made. Santa was kind enough to come off the ice to meet the children. Thanks Santa.
