Royal Farms in other cities:
Even though I am not a fan of fried chicken, the gas prices are alright. Although it can sometimes get slightly busy, it is usually fine in terms of being populated and the like. The most important part, however, are the slushees and milkshakes. My kids love them, and so do I ;)
So very clean. The food/sandwich area is different than the typical Wawa, and its refreshing. Wasnt a fan of the coffee creamer. But the coffee was HOT and fresh. THAT was nice. The gas area was clean and easy to use. Easy to clean out your car while you fill. Easy in and out at the light. Im curious to try their Fried Chicken.
Ive bought food here, and its been mostly good! I especially love the cappuccino and iced coffee. A minor quibble would be that the selection isnt quite as good as Wawa, but its definitely large enough to find something you like. Oh, and the coffee cup lids here have a tab that you can close over the hole you drink out of. This such a great convenience, especially in moving vehicles! I wish there were more coffee cup lids like that!
We were all excited to have a Royal Farms up here. Thumbs down. If you want good gas station chicken, take the drive to any RoFo south of the Mason Dixon, because they just cant do it right up here for some reason. If you want to hear weird stories about employees lives while they throw some mushy cold old chicken your way, not a bad spot to check out.
I dont know that Ive ever been to a gas station before where there was an hour wait for the food they were serving inside. That changed yesterday. The fried chicken at this place causes massive lines, but people wait anyway. If youre expecting this to be convenience store service where youre in and out in a few minutes, go to Wawa instead. However, if youre in it for the chicken, and youre willing to wait, this place serves up some tasty chicken that reminds me of places down south. Outside of the food lines though, this is a clean, will lit, friendly 24 hour gas station and convenience store. It feels very modern and new. Theres a large staff, and its a great stop if youre looking to refill your tank. Im glad its in the neighborhood.
This place was great when it first opened. Ive given this place multiple tries I usually stop 11:00 11:30pm every other week just to grab a hot meal on the way home. Half the time the place is understaffed at night and the people working there are slow as molasses and this was the third and final straw the chicken was ice cold and you can tell the chicken was not fresh at all its been sitting for quite a few hours. Funny because the Royal Farms in Maryland blows the Pennsylvania one away by Miles
People will make mistakes. I make them every day at my job. There are 2 things that keep me going somewhere: The products and the customer service. Every place will have good service and bad service. The food quality here is wonderful. I havent had food that wasnt full of flavor, fresh, and delicious. I started buying my local coffee here, on the days I used to go to Wawa. The coffee is delicious and hot, I like the cups they use, and they offer a wider variety of creamers. I found my candy fix here as well, with good prices, and a candy I never had that has become my go to.It also matters to me is how Im treated when the mistakes happen and I explain them. Some places are dismissive about your concerns. I left a message for the manager here (his name is Matt). This man knows what customer service is. He listened to me. I cant stress that enough. He listened. And he cared. He could have done far less than he did for me and my family, and I still would have been happy with his response. No. He went above and beyond that. I will definitely continue to go here.Like I said. Places have good and bad service. And there may even be frequent mistakes with the orders at times. It happens. The people who serve us work hard, and asked to do a whole lot for a ton of customers. Then they have to do it quickly. We all know how people get when they have to wait. So perhaps we should focus more on the quality of what we get, and the customer service when mistakes are made.
Been in a couple times, clean coffee good, ordered chicken 40 minutes wait for undercooked chicken. They chicken is nice but it has a slight spicyness to it. I like it just an informational for those that dont care for a little zip. They way they have there order system is confusing. They employees call out numbers. There is no order just randomly called. So people wait longer than others. The company needs a new system. There card is a plus. Will go again
The food is amazing. I was expecting run of the mill turkey hill or gas station food and was pleased to find real southern cooking instead... Delicious fried chicken, warm buttermilk biscuits. Tons of treats and beverages to pick from. Gas prices were either matched to stores in similar area or a tad lower. Clean and warm environment. Would def. Suggest, i wish there were more of these around the dtown area..
If youre here for something other than chicken, youll probably be disappointed. The breakfast sandwiches - which is a meal I typically get at similar places, such as Wawa - dont taste the best and are very flat, making them pretty unappealing. I cant speak for most of the other food, but my family members werent very impressed with the non-chicken products either. If you want something other than chicken, I recommend sticking to Wawa. However, this Royal Farms is typically very clean and has a nice atmosphere, and this one in particular is in a prime location for the students who go to school at the Downingtown Middle, West High, and STEM schools, although there is a Wawa a slightly longer walking distance away.
I have been there a few times. Their subs, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, etc. are no good. You barely get any meat and the cheese is never melted. Wawa is the place to go. Their fried chicken and fries are decent. With that being said we waited for almost 45 minutes for our orders the other night. Some people had been there for an hour. Very disorganized!
Waited over an hour for some chicken that was over cooked. I cant believe how unorganized everything was. Employees were clearly over their heads and no one seemed to take charge of the situation. I expect things to be rough when a business opens but really an hour for some chicken? Go to Chick fil A instead.
They dont let Students wear backpacks in the store because they suspect people of stealing So they say to leave Backpacks by the doors. Seriously? Im not gonna leave my backpack at a spot where it can easily get stolen. How about better Security? Does Corporate even know about this? Dont bother responding. I know the answer is NO.
Nice to see these guys arrive in town and give Wawa some much-needed competition since Turkey Hill seems to be stalling these days. Great prices on both gas and food, and friendly staff. Food selection is a bit limited and while I liked the chicken, my wife was not impressed (she prefers Chick-fil-A). Location is great as they have the 30/322 interchange all to themselves for now.
Tried the fried chicken twice. Both times way too salty. Dont remember how it was the first time, but the second time we got chicken it was also soggy. Ordered mashed potatoes, and they completely forgot it. Had to request it for them to give us the mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes came without gravy. Giving up on Royal Farms. Its a longer drive for us, but we are going back to Popeyes.
Royal Farms is the worst place on Earth , their breakfast sandwiches are disgusting, and the eggs and bread are way to soft . Their chicken tenders are so dry , their chicken is too, and their bread is dry too ! OMG their wedges are way to soft and they peel to easily . But their slushies are bomb (so good ) . My friend was getting a 2 piece chicken tender, wedges, and bread. The worker was being really slow, talking to the other workers and laughing. Then the worker didnt even call our number so we had to wait for 20 minutes. I recommend everyone to go to WaWa instead, everything is better.
My only complaint about this place is that its not closer. Have definitely ended up here in the middle of the night multiple times for some of that awesome chicken. They do not disappoint. And I love the scrapple breakfast sandwiches! This place is awesome, a nice change from Wawa.
I woke up with a hankering for a certain avian creature. I hoped in my 1986 ford truck with dual smoke stacks and drive to my nearest monarchy based agricultural institution. As I opened the door to the establishment I notice directly set in my path was a glass pedestal glowing with the light of the almighty himself. My hunger rose in anticipation of the soon to come feast. I reached out a plump hand to open the glowing case of perfection and I cast open its doors. A wave of glorious scent washed over me and my eyes were temporarily blinded by the holy light. A few moments passed and my vision began to clear I searched for my long sought after prize. Inside the cabinet of deliciousness all I could see was emptiness and despair for another had already claimed my treasure. I raised my hands to the sky and cried out “Maaaaaan who ate all the fowl!” But an answer did not come. I fell to my knees in despair, weak and sobbing. Why have you forsaken me lord why?
Great place. Glad they are finally getting up north. Different than a Wawa. So I like that I have choices now. Good rewards program at the pump.Update 3/2020. Dear Royal Farms management, PLEASE CLEAN YOUR DISGUSTING TOUCH SCREENS INSIDE. This store is one of the dirtiest Ive been in. And I travel ALOT. Thank you.
If I had the option to give this store 0 stars I would, I have ordered food multiple times and each time something was messed up , those issues were not a problem for me , mistakes happen were all human i managed a store so I get it. But today I spent 10 dollars on soup that was freezing cold. I called the store to ask if they were serv-safe certified and I was told they were Mostly Certified. Serving cold food is just pure laziness and shouldnt have ever happened if they check their temps hourly , and before the food is served like youre supposed to do, but clearly not one person in this store knows how to keep up with a HACCP sheet . I am completely disgusted with the kitchen in this store and I will never be ordering from there again and I advise everyone to do the same because they do not know how to serve food safely and properly.
First time ever tried this new store. Very surprised. Clean. Courtious and has the best fried chicken around here. KFC watch out. And wawa.you got some major competition. Hope they build more up this way honeybrook. And an extra thanks to ken the manager for helping me out...they have everything youll need and more. Great store.....plus gas
Ok so I am a huge wawa fan but I wanted to see what all the hype is about. I got literally the exact same meal as I would have gotten had I gone to wawa, which is a chicken finger hoagie, chips and lemonade. The lemonade tastes like wawa’s with a ton of water added. Personally I thought the chicken fingers were too peppery. The lettuce was almost too leafy which I know is stupid but it didn’t fit the sandwich right. Chips are chips so nothing to say there. I will say I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee and will go back to see what breakfast is like. BUT I cannot see this place replacing wawa for me as a go to lunch spot.
So disappointed with Royal Farms in Downingtown, PA. I love Royal Farms, but this is the 3rd time Ive gotten chicken at this location and the order was short 2 times. I just tried calling the location and the phone rings 4 times and disconnects. I live 15 minutes from the location the thought of driving back there for a couple pieces of chicken makes me livid!
The chicken is very good and the building itself and inside is very nice but thats about it. Prices are too high, almost all of their breakfast, drinks you can get better somewhere else like Wawa. Worst of all, the service is very lacking. Almost all employees Ive talked to have been rude. It makes me not want to come back.
I came in the store about 815 order 2 white meat chicken and got cracker bill was 11:49 gave here a $20 sbe gave $8 chance i said where my change then she said where ur recipe. She did not give me one when to get my chicken box they only gave me one i said i order 2 got home skin was off my chicken the chicken was not fresh it has been there for a while i called the store ask to speak to a manger or supervisor she said that there was not one there what store does that no manger or supervisor in the store i told her my issue i will come back to that store again i wish i could take a picture of the chicken. I am very up set and disappoint . Of the food that being serve there. It was rain hard out side to take it back
1st visit the day after the grand opening around 4:15pm. Ordered 8 pc fried chicken and a mashed potatoes for $20.00 WOW. Waited 35 minutes for my order, employees were overwhelmed and disorganized. Chicken was a dripping disgusting mess and the potatoes were ice cold.2nd visit for coffee and breakfast. Ordered scrapple, egg and cheese on white bread not toasted. I received my order and the scrapple was ice cold and hard as a rock, no cheese and the bread was toasted.3rd visit this morning. Again ordered scrapple, egg and cheese on white bread not toasted. I received sausage, egg and cheese with toasted white bread. The sausage was ice cold and was like chewing a chunk or rubber.Disappointed with Royal Farms. The interesting part was there was hardly anyone there this morning at the height of the morning rush, Wawa in Downingtown was beyond packed.
Very busy.gas prices are good.order 5 pc tender meal chicken was moist an juicy western fries were awesome.employees were a bit overwhelmed with the amount of orders but still got them out as quick as possible.royal farms in pa awesome.thank you royal farms for coming to pa.
Omg, can we make and rape the food any slower, i was here during a slow time of day, and the employees that were making my food loomed high as a kit, and were moving as if they were working with fine crystal.. the food isnt that great to wait for slow and unsatisfactory food..

2022-04-18Excellent, clean organized and with a good location.Staff is very professional and friendly. Guy at chicken counter even helped me make the best choices for my first RF fried chicken order. That Chesapeake dip was the perfect combo to my food box!

2022-03-11Today I visited Royal Farms for the first time in Downingtown, PA because it is right down the street from my job, and I needed lunch. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich on a hoagie roll with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Not only was the sandwich not wrapped like a hoagie should be wrapped so it made eating it near impossible, butthere was also a whole thigh bone in the sandwich, and a full piece of fatty skin as well. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will never order anything chicken based from this location, and I will encourage others not to as well. Hopefully management will see this and attempt to rectify the situation.

2022-05-22For the last 2 days my wife and I have went to this royal farms in the morning for drinks and breakfast. Both days all staff were extremely rude and lazy. On 5/22/2022 we went in and I got my normal 16 OZ coffee and asked why the lids were not fitting. An employee came over and slammed a lid on my cup that came out of a bag and my wife overheard him saying people need to start opening their eyes after he poorly helped me. All employees don’t like to help or do their job.

2017-11-22Something new to the area. Im still used to my wawa. They are similar to wawa. Very crowded whenever I pass and when I went in today. I got the Italian sub and my friend got the chicken sandwich, which had bones in it.

2021-07-30When this store opened in Downingtown they did not have spicy chicken at that time period since theyve brought on spicy chicken I can no longer eat the original chicken in because they cook them both in the same friar. That makes no sense to me, you should have a separate friar for the spicy foods because not everybody likes spice. So now I cant eat 1 of my favorite foods because I cant handle nor like spicy food

2021-08-27Have consistently received great customer service at this location, unlike most of the other ones. They even contacted me today regarding a door dash order issue and went above expectation to make it right. Great service and management. Thank you!

2022-01-08Would give 1 star if I could. What is this? I couldnt imagine a more sloppy, poorly built sandwich. Soggy bread, 2 strands of lettuce, and everything falling apart.

2020-12-09Went in to get some chicken tenders, because it normally is the only chicken thats not dried out and the tenders are normally a decent size. I looked at the chicken tenders today and they were the size of nuggets, but because they were half the size of the regular ones, they did not offer more chicken or reduce the price. It is a rip off. Their sides are not tasty at all. Last time for me!

2020-08-31Cashier was rude. She was not paying attention and got annoyed because i asked for a refund. Sign says save a1.50 on 2 pks of cigs, so i ordered 2 pks. She only rang 1. So she gets my 2nd pack, no discount. So i explain i ordered 2 becuz of discount. She called for a refund to be made and was like she wants a refund to save a dollar, with an eye roll. Well if u paid attention to what i ordered we would not have had an issue. Very unprofessional and unpleasant girl. The guy who did the refund was very kind though. Stick with Wawa, way better service there and great happy attitudes.
