Sam Ash Music Stores in other cities:
Its always a pleasure to shop at Sam Ash.I was thrilled to find out the Yamaha PSR E-473 keyboard was in stock yesterday - and with the 36 month no interest deal, it was easy-peasy to purchase. Now its living in my home and Im finding my way around this amazing unit. Im blown away at the versatility of this very affordable beast.
Great people. Great store.Had a situation that they could have just declined to help and would not have been wrong if they did. I had a hardly used item which was a couple years beyond warranty expiration and died somehow and i told them that ahead of time. I explained on the phone to the manager that literally on the second use (in 4 years of ownership) the electronics on the item completely and randomly failed, and the manufacturer told me that they deemed the item unserviceable and there was nothing they could or would do for me. San Du the manager didn’t decline to help however. He went above and beyond to help instead. Invited me into the store. He and Mike in guitars looked at the item, tried a new power source and determined that the item indeed had turned into a brick. Completely dead.So instead of doing what i expected, San Du went into the computer and found my old receipt and printed it out, and offered to have me try out some replacements and gave me a credit from the 4 year old item towards whatever i wanted to buy. Amazing. Of course i upgraded, and bought some extra stuff, and will absolutely be back to buy more stuff in the future. Probably more stuff than i would have normally bought in the future as I WANT to give them more business, and will send friends.Mike in guitar was also super helpful and patient and not the slightest bit pushy. Really knows his guitars and amps, and seems like a great guy too.I was asked if i needed help by two other employees when not in mikes departments. So it seems that the store as a whole is just a great place and wants to help in general . When i feel inclined to grab some drums or a new keyboard I’ll be there for them as well. This was not an extremely high ticket item, and they could have ignored the situation as many places would. I kind of figured i was going to get nothing out of the visit. Well i do have a bit of much more expensive equipment, and desire to expand what i have, as well as get more instruments, but haven’t done so in a while. As a result of my experience at Sam Ash here now i likely will. It’s inspiring when people go above and beyond.Great customer service and caring attention. Sam Ash should be proud to have these two employees (San Du Lee and Michael Desoto) and commend their service.
I love the amount of space and how well things are spaced out. Really makes shopping very comfortable. I’ve been buying from this particular Sam Ash for well over 15 years. Typically I get great service with just a two times where I was a little dissatisfied. However I’d say every time I needed something in the drum department or wanted to discuss what I was after I got due attention and patient staff that addressed my needs and took the time time to share experiences. Very nice when you can have a conversation with a fellow musician cause they get it. The last time I was in I got great service from Zach and Mike. Thank you gentlemen. I left that store items in hand and a feeling of excitement and a smile on my face. Thanks and look forward to coming back as always.
My experience here was positive. Arrived to the store to find 3 people in the checkout line. I was there to sell a violin and buy a viola so I stood by the strings section and was a bit worried that I wasnt going to get any assistance. It took a few minutes before I was acknowledged with a friendly greeting that he would be there to help. The employee did come over as promised and took his time to evaluate my trade in and also discuss the options for my purchase. He answered my questions and was able to assist someone with a purchase without slowing down my process.Ended up very satisfied with the experience and would recommend this store.BTW. I bought the violin at the Cherry Hill location and also got good service there as well.Note for management. Hire more people. This guy delivered great service but needed more help.
I have always been extremely appreciative of this particular Sam Ash store because it is run so well by the manager who has been there forever, San Du Lee. He and all the staff Ive dealt with giving great customer service and going the extra mile. I bought a gorgeous breedlove cutaway Redwood Rosewood guitar there for a steal do to a ding on the case! Very knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating!Highly recommend! 😊👍
The service I received here from Mike in the Guitar center was outstanding. He took an old guitar that was very important to me and helped me bring it back to life! He got started on the tune up immediately and it was ready after I was done running some errands. The price was very affordable and I love that this guitar is back in action so easily. Thanks Mike!
This place is huge. I was there related to school band stuff, and they even had a good selection there. The guy that I worked with knew his stuff and i liked that he didnt try to oversell me. When I walked around the store, i also liked that the sales people said hi, but let me just look around. I wish this place was closer to my house.
Thank you so much Matthew. We went here to purchase a guitar for our 11yr old on her birthday. Matthew was a wonderful help and was as excited to help us as we were to get her her 1st guitar, which was a Taylor by the way. This is not our first time working with Dam ash. Last Christmas my fiancé got my Gretch steel belly ukulele which has been my prized possession ever since. Matthew was incredibly helpful and thank you Sam ash for being a part of any wonderful days.
The store was clean and well organized, the sales people were friendly, but not overbearing, and the GM went out of his way to say hello. Whats not to like about all that??? I went in to try out a newly released guitar I had heard about. Ill consider that purchase in the future. This store always has a good display case filled with quality used pedals at good prices. I left with a nice deal on yet another cool Fulltone pedal. Im a regular customer at the King of Prussia Sam Ash for a reason. They make shopping there easy and enjoyable.
San Du Lee is AMAZING! I went on to purchase a drum set and unfortunately their store didnt have it. San Du personally called the NJ store and spoke directly to management to have a drum set packed and shipped for next day. Ive gone to this location many a times and ALL good experiences. Thank you San Du!!!
Chris helped me purchase drums for my son for Christmas. I knew nothing and he was really helpful and seemed to genuinely want to help me-not just make a sale. It’s a bit of a drive for me to get to the store but we will be returning customers based on our experience.
Richie in Percussion is THE BEST. Hes a professional drummer and very friendly and helpful. He listens to the thoughts of the customer and works to meet their needs. Be prepared though for a wait possibly: The staff is pulled in a lot of directions and they are heavily multi-tasking. Such is life in the music industry. Richie is fantastic and in general the staff are GREAT. Thanks Richie for your help with our purchase.
The binding was separating from both waist sections on the back of my 29 year old Martin D-35 guitar. Martin gave me a list of five local authorized dealers to whom I could take my guitar for warranty repair. I chose this Sam Ash store and they were great. Once Martin authorized them to go ahead with the repair, I was telephoned within a day or so. The repair is great and the experience was great too! Thanks to Sam Michael for a doing an expert job.
I walked in and was greeted instantly. Went to the guitar section and browsed around for a little, and then found the guitar I’ve been searching for! I asked to play it, and the guy who helped was super nice and was informative about the guitar and the setup on it. I bought it and picked it up later on. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience at Sam Ash!
I have been a customer on and off for over 50 years and the staff at King of Prussia is outstanding. In the last 3 years we have purchased 4 guitars and other equipment. The staff from the store manager to the expert sales associates are all musicians and know their product. They are patient and it’s obvious they love their jobs and helping customers. Sam Ash wants customers for life and bends over backwards as evidenced by me a customer for over a 1/2 century.
5 Stars. Brought my old SG in for a restring/re-setup. The care and craft of the staff was excellent - Michael took great care of my guitar. I was expecting a simple intonation adjustment, but for $60 I got new strings, intonation, well oiled fret board, polished pick guard, my nut re-glued, and a much needed deep cleaning of the guitar. It feels like a totally different guitar, and Michael showed me the whole process and walked me through what they do at the shop. It felt like a family owned shop experience, and had the easy access of any big-box store; I just walked in and he helped me quickly. I dont normally write reviews, but this place deserves it. I wouldnt hesitate bringing a big dollar instrument for servicing here.
In my recent visit to the Sam Ash store in King of Prussia, PA, I was fairly shocked by the lack of merchandise in the sotre. The staff there was very helpful and friendly for sure, but the stock and selection was very disappointing. I actually bought a couple things just because I felf so bad about the state of the store.
Sam Ash is the music store to shop at if you want great customer service and great prices. Ive been a customer at the King of Prussia store for over 20 years and cant say enough about how friendly, and caring all of the sales people are. The manager Sandu goes above and beyond to ensure that you are completely satisfied. Thank you for your outstanding service!!
I love this store! The employees were really nice and knowledgeable. I went there to buy a keyboard and I wasn’t 100% sure on what one to get and the guy that helped me was very nice and knew a lot about keyboards, he told me pro’s and cons of a couple keyboards and didn’t try to upsell to a different board. By the end I knew which one I wanted to buy with 100% certainty. Thanks!
Great experience here (King of Prussia)! Staff was really diligent and helpful. Evan (not sure if I spelled that correctly) in the Drum dept. not only gave me a fair deal on the purchase of my drums and equipment , he steered me in the right direction for my new electronic kit! Gentlemen in the Sound and Guitar departments( apologies for not remembering names) also were fair with assessments of other equipment I brought as well. Even though Sam Ash is a 20 minute ride on the stinking Blue Route I willbe going there for music needs in the future.I will be recommending them to others. Thanks! Enjoying my new Roland kit!
My experience at the K.O.P. store was most helpful ! I was having trouble with my Shure wireless receiver , or so I thought . At first I figured I was going to have to break my budget and get a new one . But San Du Lee took the time to check it out . And let me know that it wasnt broken , but I should change frequencies more often on my device . Sam ash has been good to me for many years . Like to thank Matthew for his help always ! Especially when I purchased my Cannonball Raven Tenor sax last year !
I had never heard of Sam Ash until I made this purchase (remo bongo set for my 8 month old). This was a bit of a last minute purchase, so I was worried it wouldnt be available in time for Christmas, but was pleasantly surprised i had a Sam Ash local to me that i could order and pick up from. The store was rather large, but was still greeted by masked (Covid times) and incredibly friendly staff. They helped us pick out a few other products that was perfect for our toddler as well. The store carries all types of instruments at a very wide price range. Will definitely go back for future instruments and/or repairs of older instruments. Thank you!!
Sam Ash in K of P is a group of well spoken professionals who know their trade and share their knowledge in a humble fashion. great experience !*(unlike a store down the road where the employees were blasting loud music through the building PA system with no concern for customers).Sam Ash has nice people behind the counter and the fellow customers made for a very pleasant shopping and browsing experience. It was nice to leave the crazy world outside and mix with fellow musicians for an hour.
Matt was absolutely awesome. We bought a package including a keyboard. He took the time to explain the different models, research different packages and went the extra mile to see when new shipments would arrive. He definitely made our purchase experience exceptional. Thanks!
Stopped in to pick up drum sticks and was checking out the electronic drums. Starting chatting with Rich about them. He is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I think he convinced me to make a purchase. I will be back to talk to Rich in the near future. Make sure you hold on to this guy!!
I have been shopping at Sam Ash in King of Prussia for many years. I depend on them to help me select items for the music nights that we hold where I work. They have been amazing! Not only have they helped me (a complete novice in sound systems) stay in budget, adding to our sound system piece by piece, but they have spent the time to educate me as to how to set up the system for safety and optimal sound. The pricing is great and more importantly they have a great quality staff. I highly recommend!
Guitar Mike at your King of Prussia store was great. He showed me where I could find what I was looking for in the acoustic guitar room and left me to try out a few that I was interested in, checking up on me from time to time. Over the years I have purchased a number of guitars, amps, pedals and accessories at this store and I have always had a good experience.
Great store larger than I expected. I know I was a little overwhelmed because I thought I knew what I wanted. I was looking to buy a starter guitar pack and playing again. Rick helped me with my purchase and provided great service.Sam worked on both my guitars and I love the way they play now. I always had a great experience when in the King of Prussia store.
Sam Ash is great. I was looking for an electric guitar - you can plug them into any of a number of amplifiers and listen to them first. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable - especially Jack Wochele. If you buy online - you really have no idea what youre getting, but if you buy at the store you can try out the guitar and have them take care of any flaws first. They honored an online coupon in the store for me, too. Highly recommended.
Ive been doing business with Sam Ash Music for decades, but this was my first experience with the King of Prussia store. The manager and staff were very professional and friendly, and they went out of their way to take care of some small set-up details on the guitar I bought before I left the store. I certainly wouldnt hesitate to do business with them again...highly recommended!
Truly fantastic!! My first time at the store and they had everything I was hoping for- AND MORE!! Not only that, the gentleman just inside the door acted perfectly as concierge before I had a chance to be overwhelmed by the magnitude of the store. I have been singing the praises of the store and Rick, the gentleman who helped me ever since! Not only that- Rick reached out to me by phone to make sure the product I acquired performed flawlessly on the gig I needed it for (which it did!) Absolutely thrilled to discover this gem and more than worth the hour drive for me to get there! Thank you for your top quality products and wide selection of materials!!
Yesterday I visited the store in the King of Prussia location looking for a specific guitar in mind that I had seen on their website. The technician working there, his name was Ric, was extremely attentive and friendly. He was able to get me my guitar and set me up with the best bargains they had for the money I was able to allocate for this purchase.I walked out of there with a full setup for almost half price. If you happen to go to this store, DEFINITELY ask for Ric. He will set you up with a great deal and give you top notch service. If his manager reads this I hope he will give Ric a compliment for his great work, I am extremely grateful for this and will deal with him going forward for any future purchase, services, etc.
I had sound board problem and the staff to time to solve it. They were accommodating, and supportive. They took time to educate me about the system, and made sure that I had the right cables to bring quality sound. Zac remained open after the sale for future help and support if needed. So, it was not just a sale but technical support and assistance, and I felt supportive and connected to Sam Ash Music Store, and feel I can trust them with future electronic needs.
I sadly needed to let go of a Les Paul to pay some bills. Selling an instrument is a very stressful experience, especially when you have to, but dont want to. The associates at King Of Prussia were very professional. My issue is with the 2 hour wait for a call from Sandy to approve the sale. I was in tears sitting alone and waiting , not knowing and worried about money during this pandemic. Please understand the stress customers who are selling instruments are under. This was one of the most painful experiences Ive been through at a Music Store.
Didnt know what to expect when we made our first visit, but it sure wont be our last! Im the only non-musician in my family, but the staff at Sam Ash in KOP are awesome. They made us all feel appreciated and were super-helpful in choosing the perfect guitar for my boys birthday. Well be back for more instruments and supplies for sure. Jack in the guitar area was terrific!
My last 3 visits to Sam Ash have been extremely pleasant and most helpful by Matthew — he’s the first one you encounter upon entering the store in King of Prussia. My recent visit to the Sam Ash Miami Gardens store also proved to be extremely helpful by Cristoba on two visits last month. Thank you Matthew & Cristoba!!
I like a store I can walk into that has inventory and friendly, speedy checkout service. Ive been a musician my whole life, and I have resisted the online purchasing of items big to small. Theres a big difference between searching for something on a screen versus physically pulling the drum head out of the box and feeling the batter, or trying a pair of sticks to actually feel the weight. Im glad Sam Ash is here for the musicians who like to walk into a brick and mortar store and get a good deal on everything we need. With the ever-growing popularity of point and click purchases in todays world, I appreciate still having a place I can go and get opinions from real people on gear, and the occasional banter doesnt hurt either. Thanks to the crew at Sam Ash King of Prussia for always taking care of me.
Matthew was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I ended up buying a different music stand than the one I had been intending to buy. The music stand I bought turned out to be better suited to my needs, and I only found out about it because Matthew took the time and trouble to suggest it to me. I wish the service and attitude was this good at every store.
Very knowledgeable staff. Brian C. walked me through options and was very patient. All in all the experience was great that I actually bought a drum kit the same day, I was only there to check and review my options. I was contacted after a few days too and i appreciate them asking how things were working out with my purchase.
When I brought my Fender Active Deluxe P-bass to Michael at Sam Ash in King of Prussia, PA, I was almost certain we were looking at a major warranty repair. The guitar had come from Fender brand new completely out of intonation, with a severely bowed Pau Ferro neck and super high action. Completely unplayable. When I got it back from Michael, it was an entirely different guitar. Intonation was greatly and down the neck, there was still adjustment room, action was low, string tension was good and no fret buzzing. I still can’t believe it. It is a pleasure to play now! I highly recommend Michael at Sam Ash in KoP, PA.
This is my third experience with Sam Ash in KoP and I am delighted. I’m a novice guitarist and my first experience was buying my first guitar. I picked out a beautiful Breedlove but, when I got to class, there was a defect that only experienced guitarists would catch because, as a new player, my touch, was light. Went back to the store. The repair shop guy looked at it and said “tell the manager I said to give you a new guitar”. I walked out with a Martin listed for about $150 more but they gave it to me for the same price I paid. Second visit was to purchase a back up guitar. Again, they kept me within budget without sacrificing the sound I like. And this last time, I simply went in to have the strings changed because, since I’m so new, I’m still intimidated by string changing. They taught me how to restring on Saturday!!!! I have finally improved enough to purchase my first electric and there is no question where I’m going to buy it. It is now “Sam Ash My Music Store”.
James and staff here are great to work with. We purchased a ukulele for my daughter and she played the entire weekend! Thank goodness for school today! Ha! I couldnt believe the assortment and variety of instruments on my first visit. Im a drummer and it was definitely a kid in the candy store experience. Very helpful staff with many options and price points. Really the only music store you should need.
My first time in this store was yesterday when I came in, in search of a bass head and cabinet. I sat down with Jack, after calling him the day before to see if certain items were in stock. He asked really good questions and actually made a recommendation that made me much happier to pay for than what I had come in for initially. Mike (managed) was helpful in negotiating a fair deal for my trade in amp, as well.I’m doing all of my musical instrument shopping here from now on. I was dealing with mail order companies, but this store has the knowledgeable and personable staff, and my brands (Fender and Hartke). You guys ROCK.
I had to exchange an amp at Sam Ash for one that wasnt in stock. The sales man John was extremely friendly and helpful, he took care of the charges on my credit card, order a replacement from the warehouse on a Friday at noon, and it was on my doorstep Saturday morning. Im really impressed with how everything worked out. Ive been going to this store since the mid 1990s and will keep coming back
Knowledgable senior staff, price matching was not an issue. Was expecting a more experienced initial salesman given I just spent $4K+ the week before on a new Montage and other as accessories. Not looking for VIP treatment by any means, but the salesman which we were assigned after explaining our recent purchases there would have led me to believe we would have been assigned someone with more than just a week experience in the audio section of the store. Overall, however, a good experience.Thanks.Paul Saylor
Great selection of gear and a very helpful staff! I went in for a few bits to add to my drum kit and was able to find the pieces I was looking for at reasonable prices and after having played them, they sound fantastic. Prices were very good as well and I even ended up getting some used electric guitar gear as well. The staff is very helpful and I will absolutely return again soon to add more to my drum kit and get another guitar as well!
I had a great experience and very much appreciated how I was treated by Kirah. She very quickly directed me to the guitar that I ended up buying, which after getting home and looking it up on line, very much appreciated the good deal that I got on it. I just returned a guitar that I bought online that had a very bad buzz. Was very nice to try it before I bought it.
Purchased a drum set for my son and their selection eclipsed all other music stores in the area. The people working in the percussion department were very knowledgeable and not the least bit pushy. Post sale, but before leaving, they spent time answering questions on set up, etc. A great experience from start to finish.
Great store to do business with. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. I would especially like to give a 5 star rating to Sam Michaels in the KOP store. Hes their head repair person and he helped me solve a problem with Gibson with my guitar. Gibson made the repairs free of charge and returned the guitar in a timely manner. I dont think this could have happened without Sam Michael and Sam Ashs input; they were great. I know many people dont like the big box stores. But, all I know is the KOP Sam Ash store is the best!
Salesman was professional at all times! He asked qualifying questions in order to determine what level my daughter was out and the trumpet that would fit her needs! The salesman showed us a few and allowed us a chance to try them out. After we decided, he exolexplathe benefits of a warranty. He also ensured I got the promotional deal going on, since the brand trumpet we bought was part of the special 24 month pricing! After the sale, he informed us of the kids night on Friday nights @ 07:00 PM! As always, I must give Sam Ash 5 stars for the excellent customer service and quality merchandise!
I live really close to the King of Prussia store so Im in & out a bit.Its a pretty good place to cruise for used stuff that people trade in.Prices are generally reasonable & fair.Accessories are priced high but thats where most stores make their $$$. Ive bought several instruments, A Squier Japan P bass, a new Yamaha acoustic guitar, a 70s Univox violin bass,a Fender practice amp,a half sized upright bass,a new Carlo Robelli uke bass & other stuff. When they have sales you can get some good deals & again used/trade in stuff are generally good deals.Sales help is polite& not obnoxious.I steered a friends son here for a beginners bass set up , He got a used Ibanez bass for $79.95 & a Peavey TNT 130 amp for $99.95. Thats a solid deal & both those items will cut it when he gets in his 1st band. Good brass & woodwind dept as well, No complaints here!
I just bought an acoustic guitar from this store, and it was overall a great experience. I think they have much more inventory than even the other large music stores in the area. The staff was very helpful, the guy specifically helping me was Joel in guitars. He was able to make suggestions on instruments based off of my style of playing, and I ended up with a guitar that I was really happy with, at a price that I was also very happy about.
Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. I watched the Sales Associate take on three customers and successfully help all three with no problems. I got what I needed, which was a big deal considering I went to two other stores that did not have have my item in stock. I will definitely return.
After playing several basses at this location.... twice...(only one Sales Manager asked if I needed any help in both visits). The name of the game in Sales is interaction with the customers, this drives me crazy!I found a Fender Elite Active bass which played great from the factory setup, needed an intonation tweak and I decided to trade my used bass for it. Ok, not much wiggle room on a brand new bass, but I bought the bass. Then, after the transaction, the salesperson said, you can take it home and set it up yourself.I have to say, being in Customer Service for my day job this branch had no warm and fuzzy feeling. It turned into youre lucky to buy a bass from us mentality. No thanks for doing business or anything. There were two salespeople involved in the transaction, one of which avoided eye contact or conversation with me at any and all costs. I came to Sam Ash because they promote family owned, family friendly experiences.... I didnt get that. Just be careful and know what you want before entering this store. Not likely to visit this location anytime soon.
I was considering whether to rent or purchase a used saxophone for my son as he ventured into band at school. Matthew was AMAZING over the phone; guiding me on the pros and cons, discussing the ranges in performance and cost, offering to look at whatever instrument we considered - Sam Ash or not. When we decided on a used Sax, again the Sam Ash family (including the manager!!) ensured we had absolutely everything we needed, continuing to ensure we (also my son) had a wonderful experience while beginning this new journey. This store is WAY more than just that - if youre considering anything Sam Ash has influence over - please be sure to go there - you will not be disappointed!!!
This store is full of great people just waiting to help you! They are knowledgeable and musicians themselves. There was a small issue last Christmas with an instrument repair, and they went out of their way to make things right. This weekend, an employee again went beyond and helped us to get a old violin back in working order without charging us a fortune.
King of Prussia Pennsylvania store handled a return on a used guitar purchased via eBay from another store on the West Coast and paid for through PayPal. All went smoothly. Professional transactions and I like the 30 day satisfaction guarantee on used equipment. I would definitely do business with Sam Ash again.
Awesome time and its great to have access to test soo many items before buying. The individual who helped me spent a lot of time and answered every question without making me feel embarrassed for any of it. I learned a ton and will be making this my primary place for audio (and some video) gear.
Ric at guitar center in KOP helped set me up with a new rig to get back to jamming and it was honestly the best customer service I’ve received at a music shop. As a guitarist for over 25 years, I consider Sam Ash more of a big box store, not like a local small business, so I was pleasantly surprised to find such courtesy and commitment to helping the customer get what they want in a manor they can afford.
Ive been going to San Ash Music for over 22 years. Its not always that I get treated like a valued customer, repeat customer but yesterday was a different story. The manager of the guitar section of the store went out of his way to help me get top dollar for an amplifier I was trying to trade in after he first followed store protocol and by offering me a very low price; actually and insulting price. There was a customer who came into the store at about the time I did and was interested in the amp I was hoping to swap. Your manager introduced us which prompted us to communicate. Eventually I sold my amp to this fellow and was able to buy another amp from your store.BRAVO! I WOULD NOT have made the purchase I did had it not been for the conscious effort made by your employee, guitar manager, Rick at the King of Prussia, PA store.Thank you, Rick for treating me like the 22 year regular customer I am.Paul
This is my go to guitar shop, they always have what I’m looking for and the customer is great. Jack helped me out with a guitar for my daughter and will now be buying all of my guitars from him! Also it’s relaxed and one of the few guitar shops you don’t feel anxious to sit down and jam out in!
Sam Ash is a favorite of mine. They have so many instruments on display and many are available to try out. The staff is friendly and helpful and doesn’t hover while you shop or sample. They have used instruments as well as new. They also have a very selection of music books and sheet music.
Traded a Fender Telecaster for a new Fender Strat. Ric Koelle was terrific to deal with. He made some good recommendations and gave me as much time as I needed to make a decision. This was only the first time that I have made a major purchase from Sam Ash, but I would feel very comfortable doing it again. Thank you Ric for making this a great experience.
Jack (sales representative ) is very friendly , knowledgeable, and his main goal was for me to be satisfied and answer any questions i asked. The staff is great and you can even bargain sales price. I have found that i cant get a better treatment and deals at guitar center or any other music store i have visited. Thank you Sam Ash staff for the great services you provide for customers. Ive experienced 5 great visits in which there has been purchases from a Ludwig acoustic drum set, a powered amp 1k amp, a set of bongos with cow bell, a taylor acoustic guitar, a shure microphone and im about to purchase another taylor acoustic guitar for my sons birthday gift. Its all been a wonderful experience every time I go, and i know it wont be the last. I already feel like part of the family . Sincerely Gadiel Cedeño 2019
I went there to sell my used drums. I was informed that they couldnt give me a decent price on my drums because they have to part them individually and sell them online to compete with other stores . I paid around 5-6 thousand dollars for my set and all the cymbals, snares and hardware. Which by the way, I bought from the same exact store. I was given $1,850 as the amount my entire set was worth. After agreeing on the price (with much hesitation) I received $1,500 I was than informed they couldnt pay me in full that night because the manager would yell at them. So I came back again on my time to be informed that not only did my drum set sell literally the FOLLOWING day within the first 5 minutes of the store being opened, but that I was losing another $75 because the person in charge of inspecting all my gear, didnt see a crack in one of the cymbals I was selling. He informed me it was his bad yet I am the one losing the $75.I have been a long time customer, being that I have been playing drums for 25 years now. You can look in their system and see that Ive spent well over $10,000 in that exact store. Im highly disappointed with the results and return service. This was by FAR the worst experience Ive ever had, not only within music stores, but within sales in general. I will never be taking any of my business back there, nor will I suggest any of my friends to ever go to Sam Ash.
Great customer service and even greater selection. I make the hour long drive past a guitar center just 15 minutes from me. My bandmates and I have all gotten really great deals on new and used products. Their used gear is great and priced really well. No other music store beats this place.
Everyone there is always so helpful. I have had issues with my daughters violin, and Matt is wonderful. He is knowledgable , professional, and will not charge you for unnecessary things he can quickly fix. Also, the manager (not sure of his name), helped me with an equipment problem I had that could have cost me $80. He fixed it for free. They go above and beyond:-) These guys are great!
Excellent customer service! The general manager and associate spent over hour with me to answer all my questions for a new electric piano. We went over all the features. My electric piano was delivered by an associate and everything was perfect! Thank you for making my switch from a piano to an electric piano!
I bought a new Taylor guitar at a different store (Guitar Center) and they said it was set up to spec, but it wasn’t comfortable to play. I took it to Sam Ash because it’s a warranty center for Taylor. They confirmed that it wasn’t set up properly and adjusted the saddle. Now it plays much better. I should have bought it at Sam Ash in the first place, because they set up guitars correctly before selling them. Thank you Sam Ash.
The Ash on-line inventory is often NOT at the local store. That created an order and pay, wait for delivery, try the amps, return two of the three for credit, and keep the better one. Great end result, but a complicated process for the unwary. Still a great store with a great team.
Sam Ash has always been one of my favorite places to go to fix up my guitar. No only we’re the employees nice but the one lady, (I forgot your name I’m sorry) helped me out to a new set of acoustic strings (That sound wonderful) and a perfect Capo to use for some songs as well. Just so everyone knows, it’s a not a store where they lean you on and on to buy something so they can restock it and what not. Most other shops don’t care about what your interests are upon many other things. You pick a guitar and if it’s a high as heck price when you could go somewhere else and get the same thing cheaper. Also side note, the strings/ picks and what not are modestly valued so it’s definitely an easy pick up and go if you ever need to be quick instead of sitting there wondering what would sound good on your guitar. I recommend you bring your guitar in and have them issue you their opinion on strings and what not. The strings the nice woman said I could get are just perfect and it’s sounds lovely. Couldn’t thank you guys anymore.
Ive been going to Sam Ash in KOP for 15 years now and Ive always had a good experience there. They have a better selection of amps, pedals, tubes and pickups then guitar center. Theyve always been helpful and willing to work with me on what Im buying or selling. I live in Lancaster about an hour and a half away and Im 5 minutes from a guitar center. I drive down to Sam Ash whenever I get the chance or if I really want to browse a quality gear selection.
I have grown up the son of a musician as well as a tech/lighting and sound guy for over 20 yrs. Don’t ever sell Sam Ash used stuff. They will rob you. If you are in a bind and need cash go for it. If you have the time just sit on it and sell it online. That being said. The guys that work in the guitar section are awesome. They aren’t the ones setting the price. I love Sam Ash don’t get me wrong. I would just advise you not to sell them used gear.
Jason was very knowledgeable and more than helpful! I was able to walk in the store without any knowledge of what was needed for my beginner drummer and Jason took the time to answer all my questions and make sure our purchase was just right! Higly recommended! Ask for Jason! Would not shop anywhere else, this music store has it all!
I’m always impressed with everyone I speak with at Sam Ash in King of Prussia. On my last visit, my 12 year-old son was looking to repair a derelict guitar someone gave him. He’s been playing guitar since he was 5, and is pretty knowledgeable for being 12. The guy at the guitar counter was totally cool and didn’t talk down to him. I try to go here whenever possible before buying anything online.
Brian at the K of P store was awesome. He answered all of our questions. He took us thru multiple levels of drum kits and explained why they were priced at that level. He showed us everything we needed for a complete set and made our purchase a one stop purchase. I will be back to do future business with him
We went to Sam Ashe to look at Taylor acoustic guitars. They have the largest selection of Taylors weve ever seen. We were able to take our time and try out several. Their comfortable Acoustic Room had many couches, ottomans, and stools to relax on. The sales people were attentive but not too overwhelming. When youre spending a lot of money on a guitar, this is how it should be.
Sam Ash is a great place to actually see and hear what your buying!! I just purchased the new ev evolve system and got a fair price for my Bose system. Both the store manager Sandu and sound department mgr Alex.. fantastic! Very knowledgeable and answered every one of my questions.Happy customer!
Love this place- its my kids happy place. The people that work there are great. They know what they are talking about when it comes to the instruments. My girls have taken lessons and they are able to try out the instruments with no judgment. The manger is the greatest. I highly recommend this store.
My recent experience at Sam Ash in King of Prussia far exceeded my expectations. I went to check out acoustic guitars but had very little knowledge of what would best suit my needs as I am a beginner. Joel walked me through the process, answered all of my questions and never made me feel pressured to buy anything. He was patient and very knowledgeable. Another employee chatted with me while I was comparing a couple of options and he shared his experience in buying the right guitar based on the feel. Joel and the other employees I spoke with were incredibly helpful. I purchased an Ibanez Artcore and I couldnt be happier with the instrument. They offer discounted lessons when you buy an instrument. I would definitely recommend them.
Let me start by saying I DO NOT work for this company. This is my experience with the King of Prussia store, and I feel it was worth telling.Deceptively LARGE store. I spent most of my time in the acoustic section, and having lived in Atlanta, a few blocks from a huge Sam Ash, I have to say, this store easily rivals the big boys, and was honestly not what I expected to find. I brought a couple of items to trade in. They were very accommodating, and after telling me about their recent renovations, let me peruse the guitar selection. There is a good cross section of instruments-beginner through professional-and pretty much all price ranges. Lots of Martin and Taylor-and a better selection of those than I am used to seeing in one location. There were a few guys shopping along side me, and between the staff and those guys, had all the help I needed. I picked out what I wanted, and the manager, Mike, and the Acoustic Guitar technician (Im a dog for not remembering his name...he was very helpful) made it happen. Long story short, I went for a small beater guitar, and walked out with a gorgeous 12-string.I am by no means an easy shopper. In fact, if anything, I am a hard-nose shopper that wants a lot for my dollar. I live in Harrisburg, PA, and while we have several shops, they do not have near the inventory. THE TESTAMENT TO SAM ASH IN KING OF PRUSSIA IS THIS: I drove 2 hours one-way to get there. I will definitely drive back again, without hesitation.
I brought my Rickenbacker 4001SW into the repair shop at Sam Ash to change my strings to flat wounds and have the neck adjusted for proper tension, string action and intonation. Also had the fret ends filed. Sam did an outstanding job and the work was done within the time I expected. Excellent experience!
One of the staff members at the store in King of Prussia was fabulous! He went out of his way to do research to find a hard to find instrument for us, that was backordered everywhere else we had looked. When it came time to deliver, he was right there helping us through every step of the process and getting my son his brand-new instrument. Based on service alone, I would highly recommend this location. The store with large and bright and had a huge selection. They also helped us out on the price as best they could with a discount. I have no reservations.
I dont usually take the time to write reviews but I had to since we went to a couple local stores. Hands down the best place in the area. Returned a purchase from GC to come here. Ric was awesome in helping my son buy an acoustic. Took his time and allowed us to try some of the most expensive guitars without asking. Just made our experience a pleasant one and will sure be back. Thank you Sam ash and especially Ric.
Could not have had a better experience at Sam Ash yesterday. I needed to purchase additional piano instruction books for our children. Matthew was super helpful, thoughtful, and took the time to answer my questions. The store is beautiful. Love the store and will be back.
Great service! I walked in and was greeted right away by Kiera with a bright smile. I needed a beginners Ukulele & am quite the amateur to musical instruments. Kiera helped me pick out the instrument and even spent time showing me how to tune it and struck a few notes! I went home and felt confident in helping my little one get started. Thank you for such a pleasant experience!
I had an amazing experience at the King of Prussia location! I was hunting for a set of Ebony Bridge Pins from Martin and having trouble finding a set locally. I called over and Joel was kind enough to confirm that they had them in stock, and put a set aside for me. When I came in the next day, Joel had them ready to go! Super excellent Customer Service. I was only in store for a cheap part this time, but next time i want to spend some serious money on a guitar, Sam Ash KOP will be my first stop.
Visited my local Sam Ash store to audition intermediate/advanced clarinets for my daughter. Nice to see a selection of new and used horns. Matthew, who was working in the band/orchestra department, was extremely helpful and showed us to a nice practice room to use to sample the instruments. My daughter noticed a couple of the horns not playing as they should, so Matthew promptly brought them over to the in-store repair technician. After some necessary adjustments, both horns played much better. This was extremely helpful and lead us to ultimately make an in-store purchase. I love the internet, but there is simply no substitute for trying before buying, especially for a highly personalized musical instrument. Thanks, Matthew, the repair tech, store manager Sandu and Sam Ash. This is how its done.
I went to Sam Ash yesterday to buy books. Not the first time. Staff are always helpful. As my son is learning violin, I bought all the books required by the teacher, such as All for Strings, Hrimaly, etc. When I saw Suzuki violin school and asked about it, the staff told me his honest opinion. He said since my son is learning the proper way, there is no need for Suzuki. I really valued this type of insightful advice. Once I took a trumpet in and the musician fixed a small problem for free. I was really surprised.Anyway, it was always a smooth experience. Keep up the good work!
Overall good. We dont have large music stores like this in our area so we make a trip once in a while to Sam Ash. I have had some really good customer service experiences here. However, this visit was odd in that the salespeople seemed preoccupied, not very attentive, and there were kids running around unchecked banging on things unsupervised. Keyboard and synth room seems to be perpetually in disarray every time we visit.
Had an issue with the a fret on my guitar that was buzzing. Rick immediately took it into the shop for the repair shop to evaluate. They explained that the bridge was set too low by the manufacturer. They shimmed it and set it up perfectly for me to play. Fantastic service.
My experience with the Sam Ash location in Kingof Prussia was outstanding. The technican did an outstanding job on my sons student trumpet repair. Matthew was very knowledgeable in assisting in the purchase of an intermediate trumpet for my son going forward into adulthood. I have already recomended Sam Ash to several friends who were looking for a place to have instruments repaired.
On line account and in person to sample equipment had always been an easy transaction. I use the King of Prussia location for drum accessories, didnt have the needed to purchase a new Tom mount, the associate looked into the used gear and got me what was needed for a fraction of the cost. Customer Service
Sam Ash music has the most knowledgeable, and caring staff I have ever met. I have gone to this Sam Ash store since its grand opening many years ago. I have never been disappointed; Furthermore I have seen them go out of their way for a perfect stranger or regular like me. I myself own a music service similar to Sam Ash. Some people view us as competitors; Not the case at all. True professionals like San Du Lee and assistant manager Mike have a very courteous attitude towards me and I have the up most respect for them and their entire staff. Everybody is well trained, under a manager that has been there for years. Its a shame people write bad reviews under a hidden agenda. I,E, people working for other stores, personal agendas, or just unfounded juvenile posts with no merit what so ever. I have recently moved to Philadelphia. It takes about 45 minutes to get there. I will drive the extra miles because of their great discounts and quick, professional service. When I drive these extra miles I actually pass other music stores. I will continue to drive these extra miles because Sam Ash always goes the extra mile.If cant serve the music needs of a person who causes my service, I always refer them to Sam Ash. I know they will be taken care of. I want people to have a positive experience. I assure the customer that I cant serve, they will be in good hands at Sam Ash.
Rick is best. Have worked with him over the past two years and he is always helpful polite and knowledgeable. Have purchased Fender jazz bass, Martin D-28, Fishman mini, Epiphone Masterbulit and all kinds of small items that we musicians need. Will continue to shop at Sam Ash.Mike is also a really good salesperson too!
I visited Sam Ash at King of Prussia. They have a good selection of instruments in stock. Not just guitars, drums/percussion, sound and lighting, but brass and string section instruments as well. A very complete store with a wider variety than other music stores. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful.
From day one when I called the toll free # I was directed to the KOP store and Matthew helped me and he’s helped me since. I’ve only shopped for piano books, when it’s not in the store it’s being shipped from their warehouse. Very pleased with my service at Sam Ash Music Store.
I usually choose Sam Ash over GC because they carry more high end gear. But... I went the the KOP store to trade in a couple things and pick up a Strymon Timeline. Now I expected to be low balled on price and was OK with it. The price kid behind the counter was a absolute insult. Guitar center 1 mile away gave me more then I was expecting. The only problem their pedal selection sucks. So I ordered the Timeline online for a way better price. You music stores are forcing your customers to shop online. Sad..
Went to get my banjo repaired after I found that the neck was twisted. Repairs only took two weeks, exactly as long as they said it would, and they were very straight forward about pricing. Very professional and friendly staff who clearly knows what theyre talking about and isnt trying to trick you into buying more than you need to, or paying more than you have to. Banjo sounds better then ever before!
I really don’t like to admit this but I have been shopping Sam Ash since 1957. My older brother would take me to your first store in Brooklyn to buy sheet music. In the late 60’s I bought all of my touring bands equipment at the store on Kings Hwy. Went into your store in KOP yesterday to just to check it out. Spent some time talking with Troy. Nice guy. I still shop on line with you guys and in your stores. It’s been a great long relationship. Glad to see that the business has perceived all these years.
I had a great experience at this store. I called ahead to ensure that the product I was looking for was in stock. Jay, the representative that I spoke with checked the store and let me know they had the product I was looking for in stock. He told me to ask for him as soon as I walked into the store and that he would be able to assist me in finding and buying the exact product I was looking for. That’s exactly what occurred when I walked into the store. I was in and out quickly and received excellent, professional customer service.
This was my first visit as a parent, not the student. We came to check out student violins for my 9 yr old daughter who was going into her 3rd year playing and we were tired of renting. Matthew at the front was super knowledgeable and friendly, he gave us lots of options, answered mine and my daughters questions, tuned the different violins for us numerous times, and made sure we knew about other offers like discounted lessons for purchasers, and $10 gift cards for Open Mic stage performances. For those who arent aware, Sam Ash has practice rooms where you can try out instruments as much as youd like before buying. It was obvious that Matthew really wanted us to get the best deal and be happy, and that is so important these days in customer service. Also, as a side note, he smoothly handled any toddler and preschooler distractions that are part and parcel of our 4-kid family being in any store for a long time. We were pleased with both Matthews customer service and the options and selection of the store.
The salespeople are more knowledgeable than the competition and the prices are comparable. I am a firm believer in a commissioned sales staff, they work harder to earn your business and don’t mind doing the extra work required to do business during the health crisis I.e. cleaning the equipment and not making you feel rushed or intrusive for doing as many demos as it takes to find the right equipment .....
Just purchased a Casio keyboard and Matthew was very helpful in making my selection explaining the differences and determining what I needed. We had to place the order for delivery because the item I wanted was not in stock. Talk with Matthew if you need to make a purchase of an item not in stock He will make sure you get it.
Stopped by to pick up a few things from Sam Ash store, walked in and was very surprised how HUGE this place was!! Drove by the building for years, never stopping in because I sold my drum set years ago, but recently got back into the music scene and the Wife let me buy a small Pearl set from (I won’t mention the name) ... But went to Sam Ash to finally check it out, and I was very happy to find I have another “Go To” store!!! Everybody there said “ Hello, and asked if they could help me with anything... and they were very helpful with everything I needed!! Thanks again to everybody at Sam Ash, King of Prussia store for everything, and I will DEFINITELY be back again!!!! Kevin M. (LA). KEEP ON ROCKIN ‘!!!!!! Thanks
Manager Matthew Phillips couldnt have been more helpful to us. Were residents at a retirement community in nearby Heritage of Green Hills in Reading PA and were buying a new keyboard. From the moment we walked into the King of Prussia store until the other day when we ordered our new keyboard, he was just wonderful with us.
Over the past month, I got to try out almost every archtop electric guitar in the KoP Sam Ash. As long as its not a super-expensive one, they let you take the guitar down and plug it into any amp and try it out. Cant do that on Amazon, where you never know quite what youll get or whether its been set up properly or has some manufacturer defect. Staff is great. They check to see if you have questions, but dont hover or make a hard sales pitches. Love the Epiphone Dot I purchased. I knew the guitar thoroughly before I ever pulled out my wallet. Two thumbs up.
Excellent experience. Very knowledgable and helpful. I was extremely impressed with my salesperson Matthew who was very knowledgable, friendly, patient and helpful on the phone and in the store, and I watched him do the same to multiple customers, keeping us all happy at once, attending to all of us and making sure no one was waiting to long or felt ignored. Top notch sales person!
Visited with a website order that I wanted to return. I had tried the guitar for a few weeks and it just wasnt what I was looking for. The return was quick and painless and the staff were all incredibly accomodating. I look forward to visiting this store again, and again, and again. You musicians understand!
Im certain that anyone whos ever been to a Sam Ash music store is almost immediately overwhelmed by the sights and sounds. Whether you be a classical music student or jazz virtuoso, country fiddler, rock and roller, meyal shredder, pop star, karaoke queen, reggae rastafarian, soul man, or youtube sensation - there are shiny brass instruments, beautifully carved violins, racks and racks of accessories, killer keyboards, guitars, live sound equipment, recording equipment, but most of all...A real person to assist you. I havecto give a shoutout to these guys, because most of them are musicians themselves, some who have given up the option to play lucrative gigs to help others find their own passion. This despite knowing you may be consuming their time tryomg out a bunch of instruments, or effects, picking their brain, only to leave the store empty-handed to buy your stuff online. So to you guys, I salute you. And Id just like to encourage anyone who does that - buy from the guy whos assisting you. You wont save all that much, if anything, trying to avoid the shipping or sales tax. At the end of the day, we need to support the human side of commerce while it still exists.Theyvalso service instruments there. I just recently brought a guitar in for repairs to the Sam Ash in King of Prussia, Pa. They luthier, Sam Michael, did an excellent job. Very reasonably priced, too. Thanks Sam Ash for years of great customer service and selection.
SamAsh is the only place to get your gear and instruments. The sales team are experts and they really do care about customer service. great place to trade in gear, and their used stuff is unbelievably low priced. Some people might consider SamAsh their second home, and I like to support my local business instead of some random people on the internet. Their financing and service plans are really great for those of us in the industry that need to protect and create progress for our business. They are always there to give great expert advice too!
Absolutely awful experience. The store managers lackluster attempt at customer service ended up being him yelling at the new employee on his second week for a simple beginners mistake, then withholding his commission on my multi-thousand dollar purchase when he was the one who helped me. The manager then tried to put it on me, like it was my fault that they made a mistake. The only reason I made the purchase here is because they gave me hundreds more on my trade than it even sells used; thats what happens when they do not know what theyre doing. My first and final time shopping here.
I have been a regualar customer of the King of Prussia Sam Ash store for about 2 1/2 years. I am very familiar with the guitar sales staff, management, instrument repair, and lessons department. I have been taking lessons at the store regularly since a few weeks after purchasing my first guitar. I have been thoroughly impressed since the beginning with Jimmy Cianci as a teacher. He is able to communicate on every level and on a wide range of styles. As time goes on I have really been able to see the quality of his teaching methods. From starting with music theory rather than simply teaching songs, he builds a base upon which to build a students knowledge. Progress comes along slowly as with anything new like learning an instrument, but if you practice and keep showing up, Jimmy is as good as it gets. He is friendly and polite to all students and their families, but his greatest quality is that he genuinely cares about his students. If you really want to learn how to play a guitar, then go to the King of Prussia Sam Ash and ask for Jimmy Cianci.
Probably the best music store in the area with the largest inventory of sound equipment and supplies. the store workers are very knowledgeable and helpful when trying to get the right equipment for my needs. I am a DJ and always find good deals, once got a controller cheaper here than advertised on Amazon. They could use a bigger lighting selection though.
I went to pick up some guitar strings. I lost track of time because I was playing some of the acoustic guitars and didn’t realize it was about 15 minutes after they closed. The cashier Brian was more than willing to ring me up and even suggested a better gauge guitar stings to me. He really went above and beyond what he had to! He was awesome!
The wife bought a microphone here on a Tuesday at a cost of almost $200. The salesman, whom I will not mention by name, because in part our negative experience was not his fault, did not explain the return policy, only saying that she could return it, if not satisfied for a refund. Two days later, and after using the microphone for those two days was not satisfied and so went to return it. She was then notified that there was a 15% restocking fee. We were not okay with that, since we were not notified of this policy beforehand. The salesperson alluded to the back of the receipt, that did state that policy. We again stated that we did not agree because the only way to be aware of that policy would be after completing the purchase, if it was not explained before the sale, and the policy is not posted visibly. The salesperson stated that was the policy period. He stated that we had tried the microphone which was not true as had previously stated to him, thus calling us a liar. Then he inferred that if it was an issue of budgeting, he would understand, thus inferring that we did not have the money for the original purchase. During all of this time we could see his frustration increasing. At that moment we asked to speak with the manager, being told that we would be told the same thing. We insisted, he walked away, supposedly to get him. The manager never came to us. The salesperson returned with the same story. Thats when I told the wife in front of him to forget it, to take the offer of the refund with the restocking fee and that this is where reviews and word of mouth come into play. All of a sudden, we got the complete refund. Will not return.
I went to Sam Ash on Saturday to purchase instruments to donate to local public school programs as part of a larger annual music charity event called Ribstock. I explained to the manager (in the guitar department) was the situation was and that I only had a fixed budget to spend - he was very helpful and gave me a great deal on 5 starter acoustic guitars to donate. Thank you to the manager and to Sam Ash for being a local business that gives back!
I knew what I wanted when I got there and was able to take advantage of 3 years no interest. Ended up buying even more. Everybody is pretty cool and the manager was flexible when I needed an instrument while another was on order. Overall, I would recommend the store.
The repair shop is excellent and extremely flexible. I just left the shop after calling this morning to find out if they could replace a pad on my daughters saxophone that had fallen off yesterday. The technician said if I could bring it in and it was only one pad he would do it for me today. Not only did he put a new pad on...he checked all of the pads for leaks. In less than ten minutes the saxophone was playing great and the price he charged was less than reasonable. I will be back! Little does he know we have a house full of instruments that sooner or later will need service (a flute, two clarinets, two trumpets, two saxophones and a cello!) Thank you Sam Ash!
I’m opening a fitness studio in Pottstown, PA and Matt was beyond helpful. He updated me on the ETA of my order regularly!! He also let me know that if I switched some things around I could save a good amount of money, which I thought was super rare and incredibly thoughtful. I will def be back to do business with them again!
It is a fantastic store with an amazing selection. I couldnt believe the variety of darbukas and djembe drums they have. I purchased 2! Being able to evaluate and play the real thing vs. purchasing online is so important to me. It was definitely worth the 16 mile trip down i-76 to get there!
Delighted with my/our experience with Sam Ash Music KOP! Wide selection of instruments, books and accessories. Joel and Rick (in the Accoustic Guitars section) went above-and-beyond to assist us. Joel fine-tuned and figured out which brand and model would be most fitting (and fun to play!) for me. Rick guided us to the best electronic tuner. They both shared their love of music and a wealth of knowledge about all manner of stringed instruments, and readily answered questions. I highly recommend this store and its staff to anyone interested in musical instruments and/or lessons.
Great job with the young salesman in guitars who held a Dark Glass Omega Omnicron bass distortion pedal for me for a few hours until I got there. I had to call three times to actually talk to someone due to the system hanging up on me 2x and whoever answer the first time hanging up on me (though I don’t think intentionally).
Nice to have a physical store to pick up music supplies. Have purchased a ton of stuff from Sam Ash over the years and will continue to do so. SA, however, needs to work on ensuring labeled prices are the same across products on display and within system (there were A LOT of variances yesterday, e.g. saxophone supplies). Keyboard section is typically a mess; not organized and connected properly; difficult to try stuff out!
Great store. CRUSHES guitar center in every way. Much better high end inventory , better pricing , they actually have knowledgeable staff in all departments that are friendly with no attitude.I travel an hour & fifteen minutes to shop there. Theres a GC 9 minutes from me & another on the way to KOP. I drive right on bye. Over the years Ive purchased at least 15 Les Pauls & prolly 10 other guitars as well as 4 DW Sets.
After a 15 year break from playing drums, Patrick A. and the rest of the staff has been really helpful getting my equipment up to par and sounding excellent! Heads, Hardware and the drum rug they recommend has really helped me find my groove. Thank you Patrick A. and the staff at Sam Ash KofP!
Ive been in twice this week and both times I was blatantly ignored. I am in the market for a new guitar and seeing as Sam Ash has a wide selection and close to my house, I thought Id try it again. I had a very unpleasant experience about two years ago and havent been in until this week. Nothing has changed. No one acknowledges you as you walk in. They even have someone sitting RIGHT NEXT to the door and they were too busy on their cell phone to even look up. As I walked back to the guitars, I found one to play. I sat down and plugged in. Nothing worked. Displays were unplugged. Guitars hanging up had broken strings. Ive seen better care for instruments in pawn shops and yard sales. After continuing to to shop to see what guitars worked for me, sales associates walked past me, not even trying to notice I was there. I even tried looking confused and no one cared. So after I was finished with the guitars, I figured that since I was in a music store and needed strings, Id pick some up. Since the strings are behind the counter, along with the good name brand guitars, I stood there waiting for strings. When someone finally appeared behind the counter, they walked right past me to join their coworker to look at something humorous on the computer. Their conversation included many words you SHOULDNT say in front of customers, including the F word and gay, as in, and I QUOTE, that guitar is so f-ing gay. I finally got their attention and asked for the strings. I got a sigh as the sales associate turned to grab the strings and proceeded to toss them on the counter at me. Thats when I turned and left. The ONLY time I was actually acknowledged by an associate was as I was leaving and they said, Have a good one.Coming from a sales career, I understand that customer service is always number one. To the associates at Sam Ash in King Of Prussia, the customer is dead last and I will be going to Guitar Center in Plymouth Meeting and Georges Music in Berwyn because they care about their customers. It may be a farther drive but the trip is worth it.
I generally like going to Sam Ash. I prefer to buy where I try. Using brick and mortar stores as the showroom for the internet that a lot of people have turned to annoys me. I like to be able to test things out rather than just rely on video demos and I dont want to have to send things back. Sam Ash has a good selection of gear so I can support a local business even if its a chain (it still employs people in your neighborhood). They carry the standard Boss, Marshall, MXR, Fender, Gibson, but also have some of the smaller, mainstream brands like Earthquaker Devices, Keeley, etc. Its nice to be able to try that stuff out.
Great service, great store. More inventory and variety than you can shake a stick at. I went in there looking for one thing I hadn’t found anywhere else, ended up spending half a paycheck. I told the wife, “Never let me go in a music store alone,EVER.” She didn’t listen.
Their pos-covid inventory is low. One high end bass. Low end bass amplifiers. No Orange, Mesa, or Blackstar. One ampeg. Where else can I go locally? I get it; inventory / market. The market is changing and besides simple strings, cable, straps and inexpensive instruments most sales are online today. Good luck Sam. My favorite music store.

2022-05-09I love this store. Even with the industry decimated by supply chain issues, the staff are as friendly as ever, and they have kept their prices competitive and offer some great deals. Their staff is knowledgeable and eager to help. And they stock, and you can interact with professional-level gear, not just the beginner junk stock that the other big-box music stores push. That alone motivates me, as a professional musician, to drive 50 minutes just to visit this store.

2022-02-13Sam ash #1 music store always has what you want, need. Prices are always excellent with great deals even on floor models , etc... Been buying from them for years. The customers service always professional and respectful. If you looking for a music store with quality on every level Sam Ash is the definitely the place to buy. You dont have to believe me, as my grandma always said, theres nothing better than getting the proof for yourself. Thanks Sam ash for all the great prices and quality keyboards i have purchased for you.

2022-02-26My experience there lately has been somewhat disappointing. I had become used to them having pretty good product and service as a private teacher, band director and percussion ensemble director, i would normally order supplies in bulk from different sources, but Ash was super reliable for micro purchases (items under $500) for personal purchases for my own playing/business, and emergency needs at the schools.Over the last couple of years, i have seen a real downhill slide. Even before the pandemic hit, there was an obvious down tick in customer service. Even if i could get the attention of anyone in the drum department, they often didnt know anything about the gear. Even basic questions had them running out of the department to ask someone out searching Google on their phones. In todays visit, i was actually ready to buy several items including stands, pads, sticks, a new snare drum, and was going to ask about financing for a high end electronic drum kit. When i first walked in, the only employee was involved in a sale, but it seemed to take a very long time for the small transaction. It reminded me of my last visit where all i purchased was a few pair of sticks, 2 drum heads and a pack of mutes, and because multiple items wouldnt scan, it took 25 minutes for the employee to find the prices.I waited through the entire transaction in hopes of speaking with the sales person, but once he was done, he left the department. When he came back finally, he never approached or even looked my direction. After waiting about 35 minutes, i left. Also alarming was the slovenly appearance of the department. Electronic kits in pieces with wires, and pads just scattered around, acoustic drums covered in dust, and the sticks/pads were an unorganized chaotic mess. Sticks were mismatched, not categorized, labeled, etc. This is a real shame because i actually prefer to shop in person, especially for gear, but in the end i will probably end up going the Amazon/mail order route rather than driving 45 minutes each way for a store devoid of customer service and a poorly stocked and appointed floor.

2022-04-05I had ordered a fairly expensive used keyboard through their King of Prussia, PA location which was to be shipped from one of their dealers in Florida. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged and I brought it back expecting them to pressure me to keep it (It apparently still worked) in return for a price reduction. The manager of the store took the keyboard apart to ascertain the extent of the damage which was more than it seemed at first glance. After discussion, he graciously accepted it in return and ordered me a new brand new keyboard which arrived at my home 4 days later! I had a similar experience with Sam Ash 9 years ago which was resolved over the phone by a telephone call from Paul Ash.Im old enough to remember when customer service was not an oxymoron and am extremely pleased with the outcome.

2022-05-26I sold some equipment @ your King of Prussia location on 5/25/2022. Your buy policy clearly states/ posted on your store wall. That any value under $1500, then you give cash on the spot. Anything over $1500 then a check will be issued. I was told there was NO money in the store and I would have to wait up to 15 days for my payment. You cant seriously operate stores w/ no money! I am not comfortable with this and I mentioned my concern, The feedback I got was Do I want to do it or not. I made the chose to sell my equipment based on your policy. Not to have to go back in forth with an employee. Just be honest and upfront. You cant make excuses about your policy after the fact of getting the equipment into your inventory.

2022-03-27Went in to get my Taylor tuned up. The luthier was very friendly and knowledgeable.Came back a week later to pick up and the guitar was in amazing shape. He was able to lower the action for me significantly which was what I was looking for.Great shop with really friendly people.

2022-03-13Michael in the guitar section provided some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. After borrowing a guitar for a year and a half I was ready to buy my own and as a barely intermediate player without much instrument knowledge, I was prepared for condescending behavior that I’ve experienced at other music stores. Well Michael met me where I was, filled in the gaps in my knowledge, and helped me find a beautiful steel string Martin within my budget. I came in two days in a row and stayed for a couple hours each time to be certain I made the best decision and he made the experience so much fun. My new instrument feels like a beautiful dream to play. I can’t say enough good things about Michael. If I ever need anything equipment-wise again I will be buying from him and no one else!!! Thank you MICHAEL!!!!!

2021-09-06You know, I might go to a different music store to pick up strings, or other small accessories. However, when it comes to knowledgable and professional sales people, and a hassle and stress free environment as well as great prices, I go to Sam Ash for the big stuff. I have purchased amps, guitars, effects, recorders (most recently, the TASCAM Model 24), and most of my studio gear at Sam Ash. Believe me, I feel right at home when I walk into a Sam Ash Store, regardless of location. The welcome, the honesty, advice, and dont forget price, and the quality, make me a permanent, lifelong Sam Ash Customer. Sincerely, I wish there were more stars to award this company. they do it right.

2022-06-21It was a great experience - Matthew was extremely courteous and helpful! He gave us plenty of time and space to try out the new Evolve 30M sound system I bought! He answered all my questions and put the system in my car for me, too.
