I had Mike buff out a scratch on a guitar that had fallen off a stand. Job extremely well done. Also had it set up while I was there and the tremolo locked since I dont use it. Again, really solid work. Finally, the price was more than competitive. Hes got my return business.
Mike is a diamond in the rough in the land of guitar setup and repair. I brought in a new guitar I had ordered online for a setup and Mike made it sing! Turnaround was quick, pricing was more than reasonable, and communication on the work that was done to bring my guitar to perfection was outstanding. I will be back with my other guitars. Highly recommend. Thank you Mike!

2022-05-31Everything about my experience with Schramm Stringed Instrument Repair was top notch! I had picked up an early 80s electric guitar that I knew nothing about. Mike guided me through his inspection process and offered up a good idea of potential fixes based on my description of the guitar and associated costs over the phone. Mike proceeded to do his work, and I was able to pick up the guitar this afternoon! Talk about pleased! I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone looking for quality stringed instrument service with honesty and integrity! Thank you Mike!!!!

2022-02-23I have an 88’ Sigma DM that was in desperate need of a tune up. Not being sure of luthiers, I wasn’t sure what to do or where to go. Someone I trust mentioned that he took his & his sons guitars to Mike and they both were very pleased with Mikes work. I’m glad I listened to his recommendation. Mike does some seriously amazing work. Give him a call. Thank you, Mike!

2022-05-17Mike really knows his stuff when it comes to guitars. Goes the extra mile to make sure your instrument is in great shape and he never tries to charge you anything unfair. I had him work on 3 instruments and he had them back to me in 2 days all of them in way better shape then when I brought them in. Could not recommend him more.

2022-03-14Mike did a setup for my Carvin CT6. If you visit Mikes Facebook page, youll see a picture of it. This was the first guitar Ive brought to Mike and Im very happy! The setup is great! Neck was adjusted, intonation fixed and pots replaced. It plays fast and smooth and it just feels better.Mike works fast and his prices are reasonable. I now have a new repair/setup guy! I have a couple more guitars to bring to him in the coming weeks.

2022-06-26Have some instruments in need of some attention. Looked for a local Luthier and did extensive research before making a decision. After reading the reviews here and checking out Mikes website and Facebook page decided that this was a good place to bring them. I was not disappointed, Mike does excellent work at a reasonable price. The acoustic guitars I have had done so far have never played better. Highly recommended!

2022-02-22Extremely pleased with Mikes attention to detail on my 1978 Takamine 370 SH (lawsuit era D28). Could not believe how much his set up improved the action and when I picked it up it looked like it was brand new. Highly recommend Mike. After my son saw and experienced the magic Mike worked on mine, he had Mike do the same on his guitar and again, could not believe the dramatic improvement.

2022-06-03All I can say is, Wow. Mike does such meticulous work, in a timely manner and the value he supplies, cant be beat! Two days ago, I brought a Fender Professional II Stratocaster and a Taylor 214ce-QS acoustic guitar for Mike to setup and picked them up an hour ago.Mikes setups are so thorough that I was surprised to see how much work he did just on the frets of my Fender among other things. Mike makes your guitar play better than you thought it could and he listens to your needs and setups, for example, ones guitars with that as his template, it seems. Of course I defer to Mikes advice, because you wont find a better luthier (from Sweetwater Music to any local Music Store) that brings as much skill and effort to make sure your guitars, in my case, play and function as best as they can. Mike has worked on 7 guitars for me and I wouldnt go anywhere else for my equipment repairs! Thanks again, Mike!

2022-05-12Mike did an absolute stellar job of not only setting up my SG, but correcting all of the sloppy work that the last guy did on it. It now plays and sounds better than it ever has. Worth every penny and highly recommend services provided by Schramm!

2022-05-19I have a site, museguitarist.com, that I do a full review of Mike Five Star work and the process I undertook to find him and choose him as the Doctor for my 15 Guitar Babies.I presented him with two guitar challenges, one a complete custom rewiring of my D’Angelico DC Premiere double cut, as Gibson es-335 clone and my 2020 Taylor 814ce Limited Cocobolo acoustic electric that had never really inspired me the way that a $4500 top of the line guitar should. You can read the details at museguitarist.com, his work exceeded every expectation and his passion is contagious.Well Done Mike!
