Worst Hotel Experience!!! As a Rewards Member I have NEVER experienced such disrespect & Humiliation upon arrival everything was great then later that evening my fiancé and I stepped out for dinner and drinks when we came back to our room keys were not working so he went downstairs where the security have stated she has been in our room and that there was a weird smoke smell in the hallway which we don’t smoke, so she proceeded to walk in our room while we were not there looking through our things from what she stated.she charged the card on file $250 (smoke Violation) come to find out it wasn’t from our room we felt profiled and discriminated on I will no longer stay at this Establishment there’s a huge lack of professionalism it was very disappointing humiliating and truly I was mortified at the fact that we were treated in this matter She told us to go upstairs pack our things and leave the hotel at 3:20 AM It was Scary to think we had nowhere to go since we were miles away from home This is not a way you treat a guest
Wonderfully kind staff, awesome rooms. Thank you for a very luxurious experience! My only two critiques would be the lack of a mini fridge… strange for a hotel (in my experiences!)Also the parking situation was horrible. I parked at the lot across the street (not a huge deal), BUT it took me a long time dangerously weaving through (I’m assuming illegally?) parked cars on the way to the “parking lot full” sign. Ugh. What will they do in the event of a fire with all those cars parked by the yellow line?
My stay was great. Valet girl was funny and cool , everything was great. Until 3 days after my stay, I received a $185 charge, even though I pre paid a week prior to my stay and when I called to discuss the issue ,one the phone was very muffly so I couldnt really hear , two they tried to place blame on the prepaid site I paid the hotel for, even though I havent had any issues at any other hotels.
Staffs are untrained and disqualified. I have checked in at late night and front desk looks very unprofessional. Their system can’t recognize Marriott elite member and won’t offer any benefits.Furthermore, this hotel was operated by third party management company which is completely under Marriott standard. Hence, I am not recommend anyone stay at this Sheraton. Please choose other Marriott in the town, I have stay with couple of them and they are way better than this Sheraton!
Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. The Sheraton’s underground parking garage was partially flooded so I had to walk/hop through a dirty pond to get to the exit. The in-room AC sounded like there was a running truck in my room which made it difficult to relax or sleep. Unfortunately it was difficult to distract myself from the AC noises since the wifi and tv both barely worked. Finally, if all that wasn’t enough, I got a terrible morning surprise when I found out there was no hot water in the shower. I waited for 20 minutes for the hot water to come and it never did. The staff was very friendly though so at least there’s that. I’ll never stay at this hotel again.
Positive: The location. It is walking distance to everything, food, sights, entertainment. Negative: Parking was alright. Valet was $45, but if you park your own car, its $30 per day. Across the street has $10 per day parking, but you have to park after 5pm and leave before 9am.
All the good things about this hotel were negated by an experience with the event organizer of the event I was staying there for. Specifically, it related to disability accommodations, the third incident of which denied me use of a bathroom during a bladder emergency that required me to walk hundreds of feet to another bathroom; at this point I had withdrawn from the event and was a guest of the hotel. While my legs can walk long distances, muscle recovery is diffuclt and I get horrible camps, but I was forced to do so here.I filed a complaint with the city of Philadelphia over this so theyll have the final stay, but not only will I never stay with a Marriott-[owned property again, I wont become friends with anyone who has or would. This was a horrible, extremely painful experience. I have end-stage liver disease and am dying. Just because Im not in a wheelchair doesnt mean Im fully ambulatory. This was horrifying.
The experience was ok, the hotel feels like they cut alot of corners for basic hotel rooms for example a microwave or a refrigerator. Ice machines are on higher floors instead of staggered and the food was meh. Besides all of that the staff was amazing, helpful and very friendly.
I stayed here a little over a week. Was surprised that my room did not come with a mini fridge, but I asked well before checked in to make sure I got one. I am diabetic and have insulin that has to be refrigerated. Upon checking in, of course, no fridge. I called the front desk and was ASSURED I am top of the the list and they would do everything they could to get one into my room. I called every other day, FOR 5 days, and each time the front desk person acted like someone forgot to write this information down. I tried to use ice from the machine but this don’t work so well. Either way, my insulin levels were not maintained well. I went to urgent care to get a shot and had to get new meds due to mine not being properly maintained at correct temperature.
My stay here was perfect. The staff were great and provided excellent customer service. One person that stood out to me was a young lady by the name of Eshea(I think). She went above and beyond to accommodate me and made sure my stay was as perfect as can be. Sheraton, just know every time I come to visit, you are my guaranteed go to!
I recently started to travel for business again and just came to Philly for meetings in Center City. I decided to stay at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown, and it exceeded all my expectations! Great location, spacious rooms, and excellent customer service. From now on, I will stay at this hotel every time I travel to Philly.
I’m James good I’ve stayed here for a work trip for about a week and I have so say that I loved my experience rob the food and drinks manager is very welcoming and hardworking really made my stay here so great the front desk help were amazing as well especially Christina they went above and beyond to make my stay special 🙂 I recommend anyone and everyone to stay here while traveling in Philadelphia
The hotel customer service/ front desk staff is atrocious. Do NOT book a stay here. There are a ton of way nicer hotels in the downtown Philadelphia area. Not only will you overpay for a small, disgusting room, you will also get treated horrifically by the staff at this hotel.
I check in with 2 kids 2.5 and 3.5 year old, they woke up every ten minutes because the air conditioner so noisy. and I could keep their milk in cold because there was no refrigerator! the trash bins with out trash bags. When I check out in the morning, I have to wait for long time because the lady came to serve another crew (even they came after me), they charge $30 for parking w/o notice when booking online.
Positive: The TV screened was cracked, sheets dirty and rug filthy. The staff did not care and no one resolved my room issues after being notified numerous times. Negative: The TV screened was cracked, sheets dirty and rug filthy. The staff did not care and no one resolved my room issues after being notified numerous times.
Checked in was smooth but things took a turn instantly afterwards. Checked into our original room only to find stains on the sheets. We called the front desk several times to have someone change the sheets. After 45 mins housekeeping arrives to the room with a set of king size sheets for two double beds. Housekeeping mentioned they would go to get the correct sheets and return. Another 20 or so minutes when by and no one returned so we called the front desk and was informed they would move us to another room. The bellman arrived about 15 minutes later to assist with changing rooms. When arriving to room # 2 we were greeted with a small plate of food and beverages only to find out the food was from the occupants from the night before. We called the front desk again to explain what we discovered and they sent a manager up to assist with the issue. The manager confirmed the food was from the occupants prior to us and informed us that they would move us to room #3. We arrived to room #3, checked the sheets to confirm there were no stains and all other items were clean. Overall the hotel was nice but could use better housekeeping standards. The stains on the sheets were unacceptable, the old food was as unacceptable and the overall rooms could be cleaned better (especially the bathtubs).
From start to finish this hotel exceeded every expectation. Checkin, housekeeping (thank you Marie!), food service and management made me feel so welcome. The hotel was clean but that is just the beginning. The staff must be so well trained because the warm service was so consistent. I felt appreciated at every turn. Thank you Sheraton, I will be back again and again.
Nasir at check-in was amazing! We were in a pinch since another company double booked our stay and we didnt have a place to stay. We told Nasir our situation and he was super understanding. He gave us adjoining rooms and even breakfast vouchers. He helped us book another night at the Sheraton. Rooms were nice. Our view was great. He saved our trip to Philly!
Excellent experience. The staff was very helpful and on time. Made us feel right at home. Room service was very accommodating and did an awesome job with servicing and meeting our needs at all times. All in all it was an awesome stay, highly recommend and will most definitely come back. To next time, thank you all for your up most customer service and kindness through out our stay!
I was visiting for the Rev It Up conference. I had a rough time traveling into town because of the tropical storm, Ida, and the ongoing tornado and flash flood warnings. It was refreshing to be welcomed by a pretzel in my room. I felt safe in my room, despite the extreme weather occurring outside my window. Everything was clean and inviting. The staff was friendly, helpful, present, and professional. The sales, event and catering staff were superb! Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff as well. The food selection was amazing. It appeared that every employee was happy to be there. That is a huge reflection on the management staff. Props to the leaders of this hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. If I ever visit Philly again, I will stay with the Sheraton!
The few staff working did the best they could. My room and many others according to my friends had not been cleaned before I arrived. Unfortunately I arrived very late at night and was too tired to notice. I had to ask for things like a floor mat for outside the shower, cups and lids for coffee and towels, soap and wash cloths. I got clean sheets on day 2 after making those requests. The air conditioner cycled on and off on a 3 1/2 minute rotation, never quite cooling the room and leaving it very uncomfortable. Being in a suite, I expected to be able to enjoy the outer room, but since there was no air conditioning the door to the sleeping area and the bathroom had to remain closed to conserve air conditioning. The lack of staff meant the restaurant wasnt open and the few brave souls working in the bar area in the mornings were pulling double duty. The lock on door 1602 was not operating properly, requiring a heavy push on the interior door handle to retract the deadbolt. The food served for breakfast each day at the conference was not particularly tasty and there was no staff to be sure that participants at the conference understood they could have either a sandwich or a salad, so several conference attendees did not get to eat lunch. Staffing problems are universal. I understand that. But when checking out of my room on Saturday (I linked my two reservations), I should not have found someone elses underwear in the bedside table drawer. Be aware: Philadelphia is still under a strict mask madate and Club Level amenities are nowhere to be found, much like ice machines. This is not a hotel that lives up to the Marriott name.
I expected a little more from my experience here. But maybe its just that Ive never stayed at a Sheraton before. The rooms were fine. The keys were an absolute nightmare. The proximity to everything was probably the redeeming aspect. I heard that there was something about breakfast, but never enough information to try to figure it out, especially considering we were just a few blocks from reading terminal, and it would have cost money either way.
Positive: The staff was amazing! We loved how helpful everyone was! We stayed in the king suite, which I HIGHLY recommend! Spectacular view! Loved this place. We will definitely stay again! Negative: Small issue with the plumbing in our room, but it was corrected quickly!
Wonderful place. Everyone has been extremely helpful. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The restaurant in the lobby is a very nice feature when youre not interested in going out on the town.Morning coffee doesnt get better then a fresh cup of coffee from Stella! Guaranteed to make you smile!!!! You can find her every morning serving smiles and coffee in the lobby restaurant.
The king room at the Sheraton was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing, and the location great! The breakfast staff was so kind and rushed to get everything done. The front desk staff was OK but not very helpful... they could have been more proactive (telling me I needed to get a breakfast card each morning, tell me where the elevator is). I do wish the room had a fridge and microwave, and the coffee station in the room should really have packets of creamer.
We came to Philadelphia to celebrate our volunteer organizations 100th Anniversary and fortunately we shoes the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown for its Banquet Facilities, Guest Rooms and its proximity to The neighboring Basilica of St. Peter & St. Paul.To start off we’re Bonvoy Members so I was able to check in before we even entered the building, we did stop at the front desk to pick up room key cards from a very helpful Kathy. We had a lovely room with 2 full sized beds, the water pressure in the bath was good and the water nice and hot. Though we didn’t watch too much TV the large flat screen was a great information center. As Bonvoy Members we took advantage of a very speedy Wi-Fi.In the morning we had the breakfast buffet, there was an excellent variety of breakfast items and great coffee, our server was very amusing and kept us entertained. When we went to set up our banquet room we had boxes of gift bags for the 200 plus guests that we were going to have, Leonard the Bellman really went out of his way to help unload the van and shift all of the boxes up to the Ballroom level, he’s a real asset to the Sheraton. Our Banquet was very well organized by the Sheraton Staff and ran seamlessly, the food was good and the serving was quick and unobtrusive. We had a very memorable two days at the Sheraton.
This hotel was by far one of the worst stay I’ve encountered. Across the board this hotel receives a negative rating that will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Let’s start off by stating that the front desk service was extremely slow. It took at least ten minutes to be seen by front desk representatives. This hotel didn’t have any refrigerators or microwaves in any of the rooms. With the price of $173 a night this is unexceptional. Room service was awful due to undone service in the rooms. Room service for towels took all of one hour. There were no ice machines on every floor so you would have to walk to the third floor for ice. Lastly, beds are very small.
Positive: The hotel room was as expected, good set up, clean, with a big 50 TV. The lobby was clean and staff were welcoming. Negative: A few of the items in my room didnt work as expected - the shower leaked all over the floor, as well as one of the foot on a table fell off. The lobby, though clean, was somewhat dated, and the location was off the beaten path. All in all - not bad.
Positive: The hotel is close to all the tourists sites and the price is not at all bad. What made my stay nice was Nicole from the restaurant inside the hotel. She was a lovely lady and very attentive. The room was also very clean. Negative: I didnt like that there was no refrigerator in the room. I had to put my daughter medicine into ice overnight just so it wouldnt go bad. I also didnt like that the AC was right next to the bed.
I was at the hotel for the chess tournament during the 4th of July weekend. I requested a room on a high floor with a fireworks view, and I was happy that they were available. There was little else that was positive. We had a Privacy Please hanger on the door knob, yet when we came upstairs one time, housekeeping was in our room. They said they were giving us fresh towels. On our last day there, we had the same sign hanging in the morning (prior to checking out) but housekeeping came and knocked on the door at 8:00 am. We felt rushed since check out was at 11:00The elevators were EXTREMELY slow. We waited 1/2 hour on one occasion and 20 minutes at other times so that we could take an elevator downstairs or upstairs. There are only 6 elevators for 27+ floors and it appeared that one of the six was always non-operational. The chess tournament had over 1,000 participants and many were staying at the hotel. There were NO refrigerators available even though I am a Bonvoy member and had requested one when making the reservation. There was also no room service for food, but this may have been a COVID related issue.Im still rating it a good value for the money, because I secured the group rate for the weekend. If I had paid the regular room rate, I would rate the value as poor.
Positive: The Staff - the desk clerks were good. The Breakfast Hostess was Superb!!! Awesome at her job. The waitress in the Restaurant was great as well. The maids were very good. The Staff was AWESOME!!! Negative: WE expected a microwave/refrigerator in room staff brought us a fridge I had 2 go downstairs 19 floors 2 restaurant 2 microwave food for 4 days!! Very embarrassing! Showers in both rooms were broken the door kept coming open. Worst than a 2 * hotel!!!!!!!
We reserved a room with two queen sized beds and got a room with one very uncomfortable double bed. There was dust on the lamps and in the corners of the bathroom. But the worst thing was that our room had no hot water, even after a hotel staff person came and tried to fix it. I will never stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is great the suite we stayed in the living room heat didn’t work we called downstairs multiple times and every time they said it’s working on there end we asked if we could move to a different room and they said no it’s not there problem that the heat wasn’t working in the living room and when I asked for extra blankets and pillows for the pull out couch they refused to give us more blankets and told me to sleep in the cold I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
I took her aside to calm her down and spoke with the Manager (her name is supposedly Kate and was a pregnant lady). We told her about the situation that we booked a two bed but was instead given a one bed. She also had the same response: the hotel has no two bed hotel rooms available due to the Fourth of July weekend. I also asked her what she expected us to do since there were three of us and we booked a two bed for that reason. She said she can call guest services for a roll over bed. I told her if she can call right now since we need to decide if were going to stay here or not as we were considering going back home as we were in a bad mood due to the way we were treated. She said to give her five minutes to call guest services. A few minutes later, she said she CONFIRMED with guest services that a roll over bed would be provided. So I asked her if they could put the bed in our room while we stepped out to enjoy the city in which she confirmed that an extra bed would be in the room when we arrived. After confirming, we went up to our room to drop our luggage and went out to the city. After we explored the city, watched fireworks, and ate dinner around the area, I called the front desk multiple times to confirm that an extra bed was provided to us. I was unable to get a hold of anyone at the front desk after multiple attempts. After trying a few times and not getting a hold of anyone, we decided to go back to the hotel room to rest as we had another long day ahead of us the next day. We went in thinking there would be an extra bed but we were shocked when we didn’t see one in the room. We immediately went to the front desk to ask what happened. We went to the front desk around 12am and there was only one lady working at the time. We told her about what happened earlier, that we were expecting a bed but didn’t get one, and that we called multiple times to confirm in case this happened and no one picked up. Her response was that she got in at 11pm and was not told about anything regarding an extra bed. We constantly asked her how this could happen when we were told that a bed would be provided and even waited to confirm it with the manager. Her response was “we have a lot of guests and rooms in this hotel and we are human, and as humans we make mistakes. The manager is also very pregnant so she could have forgotten because she is also human.” That was not the response we wanted to hear. I understand that we can make mistakes but to not receive a single apology for this whole incident from Joe, Kate the manager, and this lady who works alone during the night shift was somewhat appalling. All we wanted was a simple apology from someone that day but our whole trip was ruined because the front desk has been giving us an attitude about not having any other rooms available. The tone we received and how we felt was that we had to just deal with it because the hotel is at full capacity instead of trying to accommodate us as guests of the hotel. This has been overall a very bad experience for us and makes us question whether we want to stay at another Marriott as this is not how we were expecting to be treated. Was it because we were using a free night certificate that we were being treated this way? Or are all guests treated this way when the hotel is too busy or at full capacity?
I get that my last name is common. But this hotel checked in someone else with my reservation. They ended up trying to make new reservation but instead of apologizing for the mistakes, the hotel check in staffs were busy blaming who did it.I had to wait over 15 minutes in the lobby for something i didnt do wrong.I guess the hotel staffs check in people without checking their id first.
Overall this was a decent stay. Desk check in attendant was friendly and helpful. Waiter and hostess for breakfast were very bubbly and friendly. Hotel is located in a great location in the city. Unfortunately they received a lower rating because the TV was not working properly and the towels were dirty which made me Leary about touching anything else.
My sons and I travel 4 times a year and have stayed in various hotels over the past few years. We where excited about our first trip to Pennsylvania. Your Sheraton property in downtown Philadelphia claimed a “4 star” status so we decided to splurge by staying at this location. I knew our experience was going to be mediocre at best when we arrived to check in. We had an extremely long layover and finally made it to your hotel at 2 AM. As you can imagine my two boys and I were exhausted, hungry and anxious to wash up and get to bed. I called the hotel earlier that day to advise we would be arriving late, however, your staff member was too busy chitchatting with her coworker about the fact she ordered cheese fries from Uber eats then to bother to give us her undivided attention. To be quiet honest, she barely gave me eye contact, much less show any sympathy for the rough start to our vacation. Any time I called guest services your staff members were abrupt and very unprofessional. In one instance I phoned to request housekeeping services, I was rudely advised a 24 hour advance notice was “required.” I understand if housekeeping services were not provided daily but please explain to me how we, as new guests, are supposed to know about this policy? Trust me when I say this was NOT a four star hotel experience; what a complete let down. The only person whom showed kindness & courteousness was Stella in the hotel café. She actually took an interest in us which was so appreciated. She shared she’d been working there for 16 years. It was obvious she was clear on the importance of customer service and building a good reputation for your hotel with guests. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay.
Positive: Very clean Negative: No fridge or microwave...Parking is confusing due to the fact that the garage is owned by an adjacent apartment building...most of the doors to the parking garage are locked and theres no help to find an open door....very expensive parking..$45
Positive: The restaurant being located in the hotel Negative: After never getting a cart for a large hotel they had only 2 carts and one never showed up so I had to make several trips from parking garage to room inexcusable for this level hotel and the ice machine on the 25th and higher floors was inconvenient
Our stay was wonderful. All of the staff, especially those running the breakfast service, were great. The room was very nice. Great view of Philadelphia. The problem? I used a travel voucher, which covered the room, breakfast and valet parking. I was charged for everything instead. That charge went through, plus they also put a hold on twice the charged amount on my debit account. Theyre holding my funds hostage for their mistake. Be warned and be careful. Dont use Express Checkout.
I’ll start with the good stuff. The room was nice and clean. Very beautiful hotel. What I didn’t like was plentiful. Unfortunately I only got three hours of sleep because all night I would hear people yelling down the hall, doors slamming, and confusion. When I arrived from my event there were young guys in front of the hotel smoking weed and having a good ole time. No vending machines. No free refrigerator. They made me pay to have one and it was pretty banged up. I was so excited to try this hotel but I wouldn’t stay again if someone paid me.
We found the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown to be an exceptional hotel. We had been on a road trip and had many stops and hotels before reaching this hotel. Many of the hotels were either comfortable, but with unpleasant staff or service. Some had pleasant staff, but unacceptable room conditions. Some were bad altogether. This was the first hotel that had great customer service and very comfortable and clean rooms! I wish all hotels exhibited this kind of excellence!
Positive: Secure parking, the room was very spacious and the bed with pillows was extremely comfortable. Negative: You did have to pay for parking which isnt uncommon in the city but always prefer free parking. Every time you go in and out you have pay more money so just be aware of that fact.
I attended a conference hosted at the Sheraton-Downtown Philly. Overall fantastic experience. Any question or request I had was promptly addressed. Staff is professional, courteous, and eagerly helpful. The drinks and food at the bar were great. The bar staff was exceptional, especially Nicole.
Convenient and comfortable, the Sheraton Downtown Philadelphia overachieved any and all my expectations. We were greeted warmly by staff at the lobby entrance and then the Front Desk cheerily and efficiently checked us in , provided information and answered all our questions and addressed our needs. The room was immaculate and cozy! The shower was awesome, water pressure and easy temperature control to wash away the summer heat! We will definitely check availability at this Sheraton property first for our next Philly visit!
The front desk staff are great. Stella in the cafe is always pleasant and I look forward to her smile and pleasant demeanor each morning. The hotel is located in a great location and in walking distance to the convention center and chinatown as well as great sites, restaurants in downtown Philadelphia.I am disappointed that the M-Lounge is still closed.
Hotel is nice and the people are great. We did have a small problem with a mouse, in the room but others have told me its philly’s big problem. I don;t want to blame the hotel but its never happened in a hotel before. They immediately switched our room, thank god.It was a great visit.
Overall had good time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Opportunities for improvement:- found black hair in the bathroom, room prep could be better- Marriott Bonvoy sign is displayed in multiple places, however, hotel refused to accept Bonvoy eGift card, even though Sheraton is clearly in the Marriott Bonvoy network of hotels.
From the time I checked in to the time I left Christina was very professional desk clerk who went over and beyond to make sure my experience at the Sheraton was top notch. It is very comforting to know that there are still people who have great customer service. Thanks Sheraton hotel for hiring Christina. She truly set the tone for the hotel and everything for my room to the food was fantastic!
Pros: service was really good, people were extremely friendly. Someone forgot their toothbrush, and they brought it up right away. Check in was nice, convenient parking on site.Cons: although we didnt pay discount hotel prices, it did feel like a discount hotel. Not a very comfortable night of sleep, pillows were pretty bad. Not super clean, and the room definitely seems a little old. While I would not say its far from a lot of things, its not exactly in the middle of everything either. Based on the price that I paid, I think I expected a bit more.
Nasir had a great eye for tired and irritable customers. He knew right away my guests and I were tired. He quickly checked us in, provided us with a fantastic room, extended our check out and provided food and beverage vouchers to make our stay more comfortable. If Sheraton Philly continues to hire individuals like him, this would be my home away from home. Great location, great service! Thank you!!!
Room was adequate and I would have been happy with that except for the thin walls. I’m here for business. I didn’t need to hear the couple on the other side of me moaning all night. I guess our beds share a wall because they bumped the wall and my bed shook scaring me awake as I was drifting off. You can hear everyone in the hall as well.
Enjoyed the customer service given by Ms Rashonda at the front desk. Hotel and room were very nice with a lot of amenities to include gift shop, Starbucks and a place to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Just a few mins walk to Market Street and catch the tour bus and less than a mile walk from train station.
I wouldnt give this hotel 5 stars. Their front desk staff that my husband and I didnt seem to be properly trained. We ran into an issue initially at check in, which caused my husband to pay extra outside of what he was supposed to, and the staff just seemed oblivious as to how to resolve the issue. He had to contact me at home to call and get things resolved. Upon my next day check in, there was issues with my card (that had a significant amount on it), but yet the machine kept declining it. I had to contact my husband in the middle of his business trip to pay for my room, and then he was never reimbursed for the first issue that he encountered and now seemingly hes been overcharged by 300.00, so even after weve checked out, I have to contact the hotel again to get an understanding of this issue. Smh....
To whom it may concern,After how rudely this whole incident has been handled, including this email, not a chance I’d stay at this hotel again. I did not take an online survey. I actually spoke to a guest services person who assured me I’d be hearing from the General Manager in a phone call. So, this response is completely inappropriate. Not to mention that you did not even get my name right (though you did in the email address.) This needs to be remedied in an appropriate way. When I spoke on the phone to guest services, I informed them I’d like a refund or a stay at a different hotel. The only reason we stayed at this hotel was literally to get up early, shower, and jump on a plane. We checked in during the evening, spent $100 on food and beverages that night, then left without showers at 9:15. We got no benefit to staying and could have saved the money and stayed home. When we called down to ask about the shower, we were told it would be at least an hour (which we couldn’t wait with a plane to catch.) This was completely a fault of the hotel with no remedy. On a good note (the only one I have to offer this hotel) Joe at the front desk who checked us in was wonderful! As someone who enjoys bonvoy hotels, the rest of this stay was a huge disappointment as well as the way this is being handled.
For starters, my friend and I booked a room online for a two bedroom with a city view and when we arrived, we were told that they no longer had any of those rooms available. walls were disgusting with human hair on the ceiling YUCK! Air vent was filled with dust and a cigarette bud! Sheets had noticeable stains on them! This honestly felt like a motel stay!
The room itself was fine and clean but the bathroom plumbing needed work. The food during my stay was very disappointing. I have spent about 3 hours of my time in the last week (since checking out) trying to get copies of my invoices and still havent received them - so Im very frustrated. I spoke to a woman today who was extremely rude and not helpful. When I asked to speak to someone in the complaint department, she hung up on me. I have also emailed the hotel manager but did not get a response. Worst customer service I have ever encountered with a hotel in my life!
Positive: The location is good and within 20 to 25 min walking distance to many of the popular tourist attractions. There are lots of convenience stores nearby as well as a Trader Joes within a 12 min walk. Neighborhood felt very safe.s Negative: Pool is permanently closed and restaurant facility offering are very limited. If you are planning one of the Sightseeing us Tours the hotel doesnt offer shuttle services to the ticket offices.
I originally booked for a single king bed room. Once I got here they said they only had a double queen available or I could wait an hour. We came from a 6 hour drive so we obviously did not want to wait, we got to our double bed room our shower was being wonky they head of the shower and the bottom head of the shower was both going off at the same time. It was extremely loud and the drain was clogged, so I was standing in a big puddle of water while showering. We called to complain asking them to fix it or move us to our original king bed room, they said it was still not available after 3 hours, and no staff came to fix it. Extremely unsatisfied
The Sheraton is a nice hotel and well situated in the city for sightseeing. The bar service from Nicole is excellent, a source of information about the city. The room maintenance and daily service of the rooms is poor. Simple things like making the beds, not done. Replacing used coffee cups, not done and my personal bug is not answering the guest services phone!
We went the weekend of made in America and when we got there we had a horrible experience and we’re told our room would not be ready for at least two more hours and the valet parking was full. HOWEVER, Shahab made sure we got our room. Leonard walked us to our room, and Nicole at the bar took care of EVERYTHING we needed and made our trip 1000% better. Without these three people our stay would have been terrible.
The quality of service during this COVID time for hotels is mediocre. If the service is going to be sub par, at the very least you could do is decrease the price of room stays. You are not getting what you pay for these days. As a rewards member and frequent traveler, I’m very disappointed with Marriott right now.
Positive: The location and the layout of the hotel were appealing. Thats it. Negative: The website states that there is a poolside bar, but theres no pool. I had to ask for towels, there were none in my room upon checking in. There was no ice machine on my floor, no complementary breakfast, no microwave or refrigerator in my room.
The hotel is nice. Lots of floors and rooms are spacious with a refrigerator. No microwave. My only complaint is that I tried to order lunch and the lady at the bar/restaurant told me there’s no cooks in when lunch was open and the only thing they had were salads. There’s plenty to order nearby, however just don’t count on them to eat.
This hotel has GREATLY improved since we last stayed here in 2018. It looks like some renovations were done, so the rooms, and the entire hotel appearance, are much nicer now. The staff really makes this hotel as well as they are beyond helpful and friendly, which is much appreciated when traveling with my disabled husband. We even had a problem where my husband’s rollator had a stuck wheel, and maintenance came right up with a wrench and fixed it for him! The location is a little bit farther out than we normally like as far as being within walking distance of places in center city, but it’s also all within a short Uber/Lyft ride, so no huge deal there.
Positive: I got the view from my room was amazing. Also the room was very suspicious. Negative: There were no refrigerators or microwaves. No breakfast included and the coffee in the room had no creamer or sugar. The computer charged $.85 a min which i was overcharged for. No way to dry my only outfit that the leaking bathtub soaked.
Nice hotel! Things in the lobby area were mostly still closed because of covid but the two queen bedroom was pretty nice and they provided extra towels as requested in the reservation and gave a welcome bag with goodies for being a Marriott Gold member. Views were nice too. The only thing was there were some underlining smells of smoking in the room. It didn’t bother too much but was there and there was a makeup stain on one of the beds. We assumed the sheets had been cleaned and that the makeup hadn’t come off properly from the sheet. Also note, get the hotel to park your car even if it is pricey. DO NOT park in the parking garage across the street. We did originally and as soon as we were taking the elevator downstairs of the parking garage we heard a car alarm and the parking attendant told us that someone’s car had just gotten broken into. We immediately moved the car to the hotel parking for extra security.
The front desk/hotel made the mistake of not giving us a two bed hotel room when that’s what we booked and to not receive a single apology, as well as not having an apologetic tone when speaking with us and making us feel like we just have to deal with it was a huge disappointment. The fact that Joe did not ask the manager or guest services about the roll over bed and saying that the hotel can’t provide the bed was also very disappointing because a few minutes later when we asked the manager, she said she can send one up to our room. The fact that the manager was not apologizing for the rude behavior of her staff and also not following up with guest services for our roll over bed before us arriving at the hotel at night was a disappointment. And lastly, the response we received from the front desk at night about being human and making mistakes, and not receiving any apology for her behavior has been a disappointment. This experience not only ruined our stay at the Sheraton but also ruined the weekend as we were in a bad mood throughout the weekend and could not shake this feeling of not being treated as a customer.
I had a lovely stay at this hotel over the weekend. The front staff was lovely and Nasir at the front desk offered an amazing view for my room and a free breakfast voucher for my friend’s and I little staycation in the city. The breakfast staff was also so accommodating, I will definitely be coming back here to stay when I’m in the center city of Philly area.
I left my glasses there. Very Expensive as I am a one eyed person and I called early afternoon telling them exactly where, on the sill of the bathroom tub, and my email and phone. The front desk did kindly call back saying the room cleaner, who I tipped 3, said they didnt see them. Then they must not have cleaned the tub..
Positive: Manager reached out to apologize for the inconvenience, but did not compensate the inconvenience. Negative: Cleanliness. Room full of hair everywhere. Beds were substandard. One towel was dirty.Staff explained that our room was not properly cleaned after last guest changed rooms.
No refrigerator. Ice on 2 floors. Key required to go on each floor. One elevator refused to go to 2nd floor for 4 days. No complimentary food, cereal, water bottle. You pay for the location and that is it. Good breakfast buffet $15 AYCE ( ALL YOU CAN EAT). Great staff regardless.
We stayed 6 nights. We requested towels from the front desk on 2nd day and none were ever sent. We were able to get some towels from maids cart the next day. On day 4 we called and asked for towels and soap. Nothing was sent. We requested towels and soap at the front desk and 2 hours later ~11:00pm somebody did bring towels. On day 5 we asked the front desk for toilet paper, none ever came. Also one microwave in the bar area for the entire hotel is rather ridiculous.
My first time here but I liked it. We stayed on the 18th floor & you needed your key card to even use the elevator which I liked knowing not just anybody was roaming around the halls plus the view was AMAZING! Definitely thinking about going back maybe when they have fireworks at the art museum itll be a great sight.
No Concierge. No Housekeeping visit. No linen available. Breakfast buffet worse than free motel but still $17! Room was not set up. Toilet seat very loose. Mattress worn out. No Wi-Fi guidance. Too few elevators. Room door initially stuck interfering with card reader timing. Event special rate was highest ever.
Definitely good location to get to all attractions. We took Uber everywhere we went and it wasn’t expensive at all. Doors to hotel rooms are capable of being slammed shut so that noise at 3 am is not the sound you want to hear. Rooms are not sound proof enough but they are clean and mostly comfortable. They do have a little cafe you can grab breakfast that’s not too overly priced!
Overall good accommodating hotel... really close to plenty of the downtown sight seeing attractions. Staff was great Taylor/Stella/AprilRoom was ok -- closet coming apart and the extreme temperature changes in the shower were unbearable. It would go from nice to scolding hot then when you try to adjust then it would go to freezing cold. All in all I would stay there again.
A well maintained hotel in a great location for easy commute via foot. It’s really nice to be greeted by a friendly smile and a pleasant personality when checking in.. They presented themselves professional yet down to earth and this is from someone who has visited this location on multiple occasions. Thank you Sheraton consistently on point here in Philly.
PROS: Location was good. It was close to a lot of attractions, parks and food. Lobby was nice and clean. Had no problem checking in and out. Second room was acceptable and clean. Remote came in a plastic bag and all toiletries were new.CONS: Parking was expensive. It also stated a different parking price online vs when we asked valet how much it would be? So not sure what happened there. When we first got to our room it was nice but then I noticed a very large crispy red stain on the floor? It looked like they cleaned but it probably couldn’t be fixed. I’m not sure what it was; blood or bodily fluid but regardless I was freaked out by it. Went to the receptionist and asked to change rooms. Next room was acceptable and clean. Sucks there is not a fridge but it’s not a big deal. Saw a few people inside not wearing masks but no one enforcing it which was disappointing. The worst thing is that there is NO HOT WATER! The water came out completely ice cold.
The room seemed to be clean enough and newly renovated. However, their mask policy leaves a LOT to be desired. We witnessed multiple guests meandering around the hotel lobby and elevator area (also around the building, but I understand staff cannot reasonably control that) with no mask on, and none of the security officers (there were many) said a word to them. In a hotel where they have so much posted COVID-related signage, it seems as though safety in this time may be just a formality for them.
Poor. We booked a suite with club access. We get there and check in we’re given keys and told 1 left, three rights for the parking garage and elevators are over there on the right. My husband got lost trying to find the garage. We weren’t given any paper with any COVID changes. We get to the room and the lights do not turn on immediately. The couch in the suits is missing a cushion! There is NOTHING in this room. No hotel information, room service menus, no SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER. Literally some plastic cups, two remotes, towels and one bar of soap. My husband went to go get ice and missed the sign that they took out all of the ice machines and you have to go up 8 floors to find the closest ice machine. We asked for menus for local restaurants as we were expecting to at least grab a snack from the club as we were I in a suite. Nope no club service, no food available and for delivery from restaurants...don’t ask. They’ll just give you a menu to the pizza joint. Also no pay per view! You can watch a handful of shows, showtime OR buck up and use your own Netflix account! I could have spent $50 on a motel and received better service and amenities.
My family and I wanted to get out of town to enjoy the long weekend and watch fireworks for July Fourth. My first thought was to definitely stay with Marriott considering I am a Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant member and have a free room through the benefits I receive as a holder of the AMEX card. The only hotel with two beds available at the time of booking was Sheraton Downtown. We immediately booked the room with no concern around hotel/lodging as I have very few bad experiences with Marriott hotels. We drove almost 3 hours to get to the hotel and checked into our room. The front desk (his name was supposedly Joe) assigned room 2534 to us. We grabbed our things and went to our room expecting two beds. When we walked in, we saw one king size bed and a sofa. We thought it was odd that we booked a two bed hotel room but were given one bed. We immediately went back to Joe and asked why there was only one bed. He said it must be a system error since the room was coded as a two bed hotel room. We were a little confused so we immediately requested another two bed hotel room as there were three of us (which is why we booked a two bed). Joe said that the Sheraton no longer had any two bed hotel rooms available as they were completely booked. We told him that we booked the room in advance a few weeks ago and drove 3 hours to get here expecting a two bed hotel room. All he said was there was nothing he can do and the only thing he can offer is free breakfast and late checkout. We were a little annoyed as we drove a few hours to get here to be treated like this, especially at a Marriott where I expected better customer service. I asked Joe what he expects us to do since there are three of us and only one bed. He said that he can provide sheets and a pillow so one of us can sleep on the sofa or floor. I asked about a roll over bed so one of us can just sleep in that for the night. I asked Joe about offering a roll over bed (he said its not available), another one bed hotel room (not available since the hotel was completely booked), and another room at another Marriott (one bed or two, which he said he will try but knows that other hotels are completely booked as well). My wife at that point was extremely mad at the way he was treating us.
Nasir at front desk was siper helpful and accomodating. Stella in the cafe made getting my morning coffee a truly worthwhile experience. She was friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean and whatever you were misding all you needed to do was call frint desk and they supplied it. Will definitely be worthwhile retu6.
Positive: Location was great. Literally stones throw from Love Park and walking distance to Rittenhouse Square and Center city. Negative: Room was not to the star level of this hotel - modest quality room, no fridge. Worse was lack of room cleaning despite us asking for this at front desk. If you are only staying a day this wont matter I guess. Not for longer stay without cleaning.
Nice place to stay. Only complaint is there was no hot water in my room but the hotel was accommodating and changed my room quickly plus have me free valet for the inconvenience. Would stay again. Beautiful view of the city from the 20th floor! Clean and great service. Friendly and helpful staff all around. Comfortable bed and pillow.
Positive: The hotel was nice and clean, aesthetically I loved the look of it. Location was great it only took us a few minutes to get there from out conference. Negative: The maid banging on the door and trying to open it at 9am. She scared me and annoyed me at the same time.
It was not one of the best ..We arrived at 3 pm ..the restaurant was closed so you couldnt get a bit to eat or a cup of coffee .there was a restaurant with a bar we really wasnt sure what time they served food ??it had no holiday charm at all .very cold nd uninviting atmosphere..Everytime I went past the gift and goodie shop no one was there..our room, well that needed much to be desired ..stains on rug nd ripped..the bedding had stains on it .the bathtub grout had mold bathroom sink had black sludge around the rim ..Gross ..the coffee pot leaked all over the counter,. really. The shower well no, there was NO HOT WATER, Luke warm to cold mostly cold ..the bathroom sink not a drop of hot water..all cracked too.there was 1 tiny shampoo nd conditioner ..talk about saving money ..not a shower cap, wash clothes ,hand lotion..I had to go out To ask the worker for a few items and I most felt guilt by the look I received ..the desk help should take a class on personality..we had put the privacy door tag on door and did tell the ladies room was good nd I gave them my wet towels nd got fresh ..we left I forgot something had to go back to room nd my door tag was removed ..We werent happy about that ....Think twice before you go ..
Michael and Marilyn at the front desk were great! Very welcoming. Also Julian and Patrick at valet were friendly and professional.A couple of minor issues that didn’t ruin the stay but did affect it were that there were some unpleasant guests (not the hotel’s fault of course) yelling and screaming drunk and loud at 4 am. I thought there was an altercation when I jumped out to look out of the peep-hole.Also, I had to re-clean the toilet and parts of the bathroom and we had a situation with a duvet that was stained, which was resolved but still left you feeling icky.
When first arrived, I had trouble finding the parking garage, so I pulled over and went to the front desk to ask for help. I normally dont drive in a busy city, so I had some anxiousness going on 😂. Eric, at the front desk instantly made me feel welcome and guided me on the right path to the parking garage and offered me a few bottled waters for me and my daughter and asked me if I needed anything else. How sweet and thoughtful! Then, once I officially checked in, he was able to move me to the city side view for the same price. His demeanor was professional and kind. You can tell he simply cares and wants to make your stay there the best. I even got a welcome cookie! Thank you Eric, for your laughs and warm welcome to the city from a country girl in upstate NY. Its people like him that makes this world a better place one small thing at a time. Because of you, I will be back! 😁
I traveled all the way from Orlando for vacation. To choose this hotel and was treated poorly is an understatement. During this Pandemic, were facing, one would think the rooms will get clean. The staff on duty could have cared less that I was unsatisfied. The bathroom had a bar of unwrapped (used) soap and the linen wasnt clean. I was told the next day no room cleaning will be completed. I actually paid a housekeeper to just redo the restroom, vacuum, and change my linen. She took the money and didnt do it. I asked if I could have cleaning supplies, and a vacuum cleaner - I was told no! I called other hotels and was told yes they clean rooms but just cant do it while youre occupying the room. I spent a lot of time trying to find cleaning supplies and due to this Pandemic, Clorox and disinfect spray was scarce. Once again the staff was awful. I actually have a written statement from another Sheraton and it states Housekeepers at the Sheraton will clean rooms but you have to leave the room during the clean. Im definitely looking to speak with Regional Manager. Just remember the non-caring staff at Sheraton will make no attempt to make your stay comfortable. Last but not least I ordered food and my dinner sat downstairs with the staff for quite some time. The restaurant called me and stated the staff refused to allow them to deliver the food for me and my daughter. Avoid Sheraton Hotel!!!
The front desk experience wasnt good, I waited 30-40mins. It wasnt even busy, so that was annoying. It was one front desk employee at the moment, then another employee came from the back. She helped the flight attendance, which came in after me. She didnt even asked whos next, or acknowledged us. So finally it was my turn, the guy ask for my ID and told me to insert my card. He didnt even tell how much the deposit was. I had to ask him! Also, something bit my friend in his bed. He had 2 bites on his arm. I shouldve reported it, but we was in a rush smh.
Positive: Staff are nice, Great gym Negative: Bad smell everywhere. There were footprint on elevator buttons. Room is not clean at all ( there were left over near the bed, they didn¿t even vacuum). I got bit by some insect , luckily it¿s not bedbug. Very disappointed by the name Sheraton
When arriving the 15th floor smelt like a gym locker( smell went away next day). No fridges in rooms. Paint peeling in rooms, bathroom needs work. ONE person running the bar/lounge with like 100 guest there waiting. Hotel store wasn’t open for first two days here so there was nothing to drink in the hotel but bottled water. To top it off there over night staff is horrendous. One lady would give non stop attitude and a hard time and says she doesn’t care cause she put her 2 weeks notice in and it quitting! This hotel was a mess would NEVER stay again.
The staff in the restaurant buffet were friendly. Housekeeping was lacking. They didnt bring what you requested. The electrical outlet was broken. No refrigerator to store some cold water or beverages. Sundry shop was open very limited hours and no room service as well as limited dining hours so you couldnt even just go down and get a cold drink when you felt like it.
Large air conditioner. Polite staff. Great Location. Easy 30$ per day parking. Clean batgrooms, great water pressure. Good view. Dirty carpets and dirty air conditioner filters. I recomend bringing slippers, and cleaning the air con filter in the sink when you arrive.
We had a great experience at this location the Monday following 4th of July with checkout being that Tuesday. After trekking from another area hotel ( see Logan Curio review for more details) we were promptly greeted by Nasir who went above and beyond for us from the start. We explained to Nasir the situation and he assured us he would accommodate. He placed us in a beautiful room on the 22nd floor advising us of all terms conditions and hotel amenities. He was extremely friendly with an heir of professionalism that I was impressed with for gentleman of his age.I would also like to mention that the hotel was extremely busy during this time. Nasir flowed and executed effortlessly helping several guest seemingly at the same time with a cool head and a bright smile. Keep him Sheraton he’s an asset to the team and a breath of fresh air. His service alone warranted a second visit from my husband and I.
This is, unequivocally, the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. We arrived to a newly renovated two bedroom suite that had one bed and a dirty pullout couch. It was downhill from there. Sink handles were leaking. Sink was backed up. Floor was covered in crumbs. Pullout couch sheets covered in dirt and crumbs. Gigantic knotted hair ball in the closet. Ive honestly never seen anything like it. This is the kind of room that would make you feel dirtier after showering in it. Dont know why I even bothered with the front desk, as all of the employees were super disappointing from the start. Huge damper on our trip; learn from me.
With the exception of one man at front desk who rudely ignored me standing patiently , waited on another customer , and then walked away without a word to a lady at end of service desk, whispered instructions to her and walked past me again to his computer our visit could not have been nicer. The lady he whispered to then came over to help me, obviously at his instruction, and then turned me over to a third clerk who answered my question graciously. Of our 3 day stay (and first experience with a Sheraton, he was the only negative experience we had in or out of the Sheraton.
The hotel is centrally located for visiting the city’s tourist attractions. We were able to walk to the sites around the Liberty Bell, and then, in the other direction, the Rocky steps and the famous prison. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from. We didn’t try their breakfast or bar. We were given a room on the 15th floor with great views. Great choice if you want a big city get away
I needed a night to getaway and unwind; rough week. I needed a big tub with some epsom salt to soak the night away. The room I checked in had a walk in shower, so I went downstairs and ask the front desk clerk can I switch room and get one with a tub. Nasir, the front desk clerk that helped was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating. I was impressed with his knowledge of his operations and match them to my needs. I would recommend staying at the Sheraton for their amenities, but Nasir is a good reason to stay. Thanks so much for what you did!🙏🏽
I stayed here back in February and I had a great time! Staff was extremely accommodating and kind, breakfast was great, and the room was well kept. We enjoyed our view of the city, and the location of the hotel itself was close to all the museums we wanted to visit. I will definitely come back next time I stay in Philly!
Very rude staff no amenities and they are still covid-19 Mask Nazis. There is not a good vibe in this hotel. I will say the valet guy was very friendly and helpful. The front clerk was very matter of fact not cold but not hot. This is one of those Priceline get what you get deals. I would honestly try not to stay at this hotel again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay during our visit to Philadelphia for Drexel graduation services. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms spacious and clean. Staff were quick to assist when needed - valet parking made it hassle free and our car was quickly retrieved. Convenient location to many sites and excellent views of the city.
Positive: It¿s good proximity from many attractions and walking distance to some great restaurants. Negative: A little uncomfortable characters at night around the property, homeless people asking for money and very limited options inside the hotel to dine or snack.
In all my years of staying and working at Marriott this is the worst facility ever. It started with the check in process, the staff was very rude and unwelcoming after a long trip. They asked us to print and said that they did not have a fax machine or email which is not true as any functional business has either one. Then we got up to the room which was terrible. There were white paint spots on the toilet door and the bathtub was dirty. The staff is rude and when I asked for one extra plastic cup, she declined and said she didn’t have any. The room had tape on the ceiling like the people who clean the room did not check the room when they cleaned it. When I asked for a late check out I was told they were too busy for a late check out even though I am a bonvoy member. I was told I wasn’t a platinum member, which made me feel unimportant and like that staff didn’t care about me. This is one of the worst Marriott I have stayed at. I expect better from Marriott!
Great stay, my friend and I were grateful to choose this very nice hotel in Center Philly, the best location to walk around downtown!!! We stayed for almost a week and are satisfied with the experience. Michael at the front desk was very friendly and informative. Our room was clean and had an amazing view. Not complains. They have a cleaning commitment and hand sanitizer stations (really useful with this COVID19 condition, cause my friend was really afraid of staying out). We were so pleased, we ended up staying a little longer of planned. Also in the Local Bar, they keep up an excellent service. Highly recommended!!!
Staff was friendly room was very clean protocol for mask wearing and sanitizing was great. The location was great close enough to walk to everything but not quite in the mainstream of things. We had a spectacular view of the city we could look down on the basilica and could see the steps to the museum of art.
There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room and the parking was costly and also no maid service for the four nights that I stayed. The cost of the refrigerator was too much a night. They also told me the gift shop was open until 10pm and I went at 9:05pm and it was closed.
Some Front Desk Staff didn’t know the answers to certain questions. They said to talk to our manager. One Housekeeping staff was rude when asked for trash bags. Valet staff most of the time said didn’t get the text when we requested for our car so it took longer. The bed mattress was uncomfortable. We were sinking in the middle and sides.
I went there to rent a car because Avis is located in the lobby... online it advertise no credit card needed debit cards accepted, when I got to the counter that was a whole different story. It was related to me that the East Coast doesnt accept it debt cards. I just rented from Avis in Kansas City no problems.
Adding to my previous review: staff was unfriendly and totally not helpful. There are roaches in the ball room and outside. No toilet paper in public lobby restrooms and housekeeping was trying their best to keep up. The carpets are probably a few decades old. Adding pics to show you the state of the hotel.
Positive: Really? Nothing but the fact that it was Sheraton. Negative: Everything overpriced. Parking including taxes $57/night. Had an option for in room dining service but when I called, the clerk informed me that I needed to come down to place my order and she would give me a to-go bag. No room service (cleaning).
This was my first disappointing stay at Marriott. Had two rooms. Dirty bathrooms, debris on carpets, was promised fridge in each room but got none. No pool, no gym… Hotel was fully booked so I declined housekeeping altogether, just asked for towels, but didn’t even get that…. You can only blame so much on “THE PANDEMIC”,.,
EDIT ADDED AND STAR REVIEW CHANGED: Was only visiting for the Philly Open chess tournament but was blown away by all of the accommodations and staff. The food at the cafe is AMAZING!I am actually editing my review. I received 3 random charges from the Sheraton hotel to my bank statement 3 weeks after I visited. I called of course in a panic - the staff told me to call back when accounting was in the office. I called back that Monday morning and left a message. Here I am almost 2 weeks later - still leaving messages that go unreturned. I did not even stay at the hotel so the fact that my card is being charged BY the hotel 3 weeks after I bought food there for the chess event makes 0 sense - but I guess I will never know ????
Sheraton Philly Downtown is a very busy hotel, this time of year filled with loud teens on special senior trips to Center City and confused tourist families. I walked into this hustle for a staycation one night stay, and realized I was a day late. The busy staff pleasantly and efficiently prepared to find me a room anyway, and when I realized I wouldnt be able to stay, immediately refunded my Marriott Bonvoy Points, even though I made the mistake, and knew I had forfeited the price of the room. What a professional courtesy. I love Marriott and the Sheraton staff. Thanks guys.
The Sheraton Downtown could be a very nice place, but it seems very spartan and needs some TLC. Found that common areas and elevators werent as clean as they should have been. Some items in disrepair such as a crash bar on a door on parking level P1.There may be problems finding adequate staff, however the staff that we did interact with was very nice and accommodating.
Great price for a downtown hotel however, I would not recommend this hotel. The shower water never got hot, even after running the water before getting in the shower, the water remained lukewarm. We were also very disappointed that such a nice hotel did not have fridges or microwaves within the rooms. The sheets also had stains. The walls were paper thin, you could hear everything! I guess security kept checking in on all the rooms on our floor so throughout the whole night we heard doors slamming shut. Did not sleep well at all. Even though I saved money staying here, it was not worth it. I recommend spending the extra money and staying at a worthy hotel.
My parents and I stayed here for a couple of days for my birthday. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the views were spectacular! Worth much more than the cost of our rooms! Location was very convenient. The staff honestly went above and beyond to make our visit special. When the manager found out it was my birthday, she went out of her way to make sure were taken care of - offering some free treats and even leaving me with a surprise, hand-written note before we left! I was blown away. She was so sweet and thoughtful.Highly recommend this hotel! Especially for a special occasion!
Good hotel. Clean room, clean sheets, large tvs with smart capabilities, but with limited apps it leave a much to be desired, also during the entire night only one elevator was functional. Thankfully the speedy internet and a great view of the skyline helped smooth over things. But I think this hotel has some work to do admin wise before it deserves 5 stars.
LocationConveniently located in the Center City area but a block or two away from all the hussle and bussle of broad street. Also located relativelt close to the expressway so you dont have to drive through the city traffic to get here. Not being in the city also makes for ample parking with reasonably priced self parking in a garage under the building.Staff/LobbyNice staff during check in and I would like to give a shout-out to Nasir who helped me with check in and it was smooth and effortless. Nasir extended great friendly customer service. The lobby was spacious and looked really nice.RoomThe room was nicely laid out and visually stunning. It was your typical hotel room however extra touches like the Philadelphia themed wallpaper behind the headboard made it feel authenticity decorated. Very modern looking room that felt refreshing.
Had an absolutely awful experience. There were about 15 teenagers in the hallway of our floor partying and talking loudly and not one person had a single mask on. The teenagers were clearly heavily intoxicated.... We could also hear blasting music from a couple rooms on this floor and the whole hallway smelled like weed. I felt like my safety and health were in danger, as we had to walk through this crowd of kids in our hallway to get to our room. We even informed the lobby staff and it did not seem like they did anything about it. On top of that, everyone in the hotel was woken up at 4 am to a blaring fire alarm.
Checked in to a corner suite to find there was a large stain on the top of the couch that looked like a large amount of dried blood. Also the room only had hand towels and not bath towels. So two grown size adults needed to dry themselves off with hand towels. We asked for towels and they never came. Also the staff offered us a 4pm checkout and we said yes. At 12pm the house keeper was banging on the door asking why we didn’t leave yet and asking when we were leaving. Skip this hotel.
Positive: Bed and shower Negative: No microwave or fridge No free breakfast No drinkable water or vending machine No early check in or late check out No friendly staff No information Yes for crazy drunk/high kids run/yell in the hall way from 12am to 6am. Security is useless.

2022-04-09Rooms are comfortable. Staff is friendly. Gym is spacious with plenty of machines but it could be cleaner. The mats were Filthy. I valeted my car and when it was returned someone broke into it and ransacked it. It happens to 4 other cars that day. Apparently there were no cameras. Luckily nothing was taken. In my opinion there are far superior restaurants than in the hotel.

2021-12-13Was so impressed by this hotel! The wonderful staff at the front desk and at the grab-and-go breakfast area made my stay. We were upgraded to a suite, and had breakfast vouchers included in our reservation. The vouchers can be used for the buffet for the grab and go up to a certain amount. The suite was perfect and we had no noise, though our friends who were staying in a non-suite room (which all face west), told us that there was loud construction starting at 8AM on the weekdays. The food was awesome, as were the drinks in the lobby restaurant. Some of the best fries Ive ever had. Would definitely return and recommend for a nice hotel experience in center city.

2022-04-03Update: as I predicted, the response was a non response and didnt even address my most basic complaint so Im dropping my review another star.Excellent location but it doesnt make up for the worst elevator setup Ive ever experienced. First of all, I confess I have a BIG pet peeve with elevators which require key cards to operate. Its very inconvenient for visiting guests and it does nothing for safety. It just gives customers a false sense of security. Anyone who wants to get to a particular floor can just wait to hitch a ride with anyone else with a card. With these elevators, they seem to be programmed so that you can only press one floor at a time with each swipe of a key card. So, if you have multiple people who go to different floors, weve all had to follow the elevator all the way up and down, a silly and irritating process. AND the pillows are terrible, lumpy and thin, like sleeping on wadded up toilet paper. Ive read some of the responses to complaints and they are just generic corporate spin platitudes. Dont waste my time or yours with that. Ive been to hundreds and hundreds of hotels around the world and Ive heard all the excuses.

2022-04-05Positive: It looks like some renovations were done, so the hotel has GREATLY improved since the last time we stayed here in 2018. The staff is also beyond helpful and friendly, which is very much appreciated with my husband being disabled. Negative: The location is a little bit out farther than we normally like to be from everything in center city, but it¿s also not that bad to grab and Uber/Lyft to get where we want to go quickly.

2022-05-12The rooms were clean and comfortable. Free drinks, cookies, chips in lobby were a huge plus for snacks for kids and the staff checking us in and out were super helpful and nice. But the breakfast was boring, bland, the questionable eggs sadly were so bad we did not eat it. The kitchen staff was clearly stressed, over worked and understaffed. I paid 40 bucks breakfast totally not worth it at all.

2022-06-21Positive: I really enjoyed that the hotel was in a safe and convenient location given that it is a 20-minute walk from the train station and surrounded by many high-rise office buildings. I also liked the availability of the staff at check-in/out. Negative: This hotel should not be considered a four-star hotel given that the mini fridge was simply sitting on the floor of our hotel room and the decor of the room, while newly renovated, was simple and unremarkable, like that of a Hampton Inn

2022-03-15Ice machines and vending throughout the hotel would be helpful. Perhaps they are going through a transition of sorts but overall great hotel and wonderful gym!! Staff was very attentive. Our bellman was excellent..dont recall his name but an older kind white gentleman

2022-06-20My experience was as a Greater & Greener conference attendee. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The public areas, restrooms and meeting rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to public transit and Center City popular tourist attractions.

2022-06-15Positive: The top floor had an amazing view. The room was clean and comfortable. I had an amazing night sleep on their bed. It cost a little more, but you truly do get what you pay for. I was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity of their work. Negative: Nothing comes to mind :-\/.

2022-05-20My room wasnt cleaned or restocked before I checked in. The coffee supplies were open, sone items missing. My bed spread has what looks like a fecal matter stain on it. There are no Do Not Disturb signs, so I have to wait for housekeeping to show up to tell them I dont need them in my room. They charge $30 for a breakfast buffet that should be free considering its nothing fancy. Toast, eggs, meat, oatmeal that looks like you could build a brick wall with it, some juices. Nothing that isnt offered at a cheaper hotel for free.Lobby staff are friendly, so thats great. It isnt their fault, and I know that. But you know, for over $200/night - its not the greatest place to stay.
