I unusually don’t do reviews but my experience was horrible! Went in to get an extraction. The dentist was extremely rough with no compassion. She stuck her hand in my mouth and grabbed my cheek to give me the needle. She was really rough and when I told her she said” It’s barely no teeth there! I was in pain the entire time. I’m still in pain probably because she was so rough! She wasn’t friendly and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I also didn’t like the way she was treating her new assistant .
This was a truly bizarre experience. I was in and out in 25 minutes which was great, but I also felt like I did not receive the care I should have. The dentist spent a total of 5 minutes using a water pic on my teeth, and very lightly scraped plaque in one spot for less than 5 seconds. The hygienist then very casually polished my teeth with the electric toothbrush. At certain points, she missed my teeth and got my lip, because she was using very minimal effort. She even missed and got my face at one point. No one flossed my teeth or did any in-depth cleaning of plaque. While everyone was very friendly, I didnt feel like I actually got thorough care. On top of that, the space is cramped, there was loud music playing, and the waiting room was so small that some people were just standing in the middle of the room. I could literally see and hear the patient next to me getting her cleaning, as there was only a half wall and about 6 feet dividing us. Overall, I would recommend checking out a different practice.
I barely ever take the time out of my day to write reviews but this place is downright horrible! From the egotistical dentist to the prejudice receptionist. I hope the new assistant they have leaves & never comes back. They treated her horribly while I was there. The dentist is very rough when it comes to extractions & when told she makes it seem like its no big deal. She snatched tools from her assistant & talked down to her. How unprofessional.
The Doctor there is crude and mean I had a 12 o’clock appointment I didn’t get in the chair until 12:45 small waiting room pack pass capacity pre covid the Doctors attitude was so distasteful I didn’t even finish my cleaning I’m never going back and any 4 star ratings are from people that work there friends and family it’s no way they have 4.3 starts
Great experience at Silvanas DMD & Associates! I had a really bad pain on a few of my teeth and I was struggling. I called to make an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in right away. Dr. Graham and her assistant Melinda did a amazing job! I let them know its been awhile since I have been to a dentist and they were both took their time and made sure I was ok at all times. Great experience!
I’m almost 30 and do not do well with dentists. I mean, really. It’s not uncommon for me to cry or feel like I’m about to pass out. I am so glad to have found this practice. They are incredible. I got a filling in under 40 minutes. They’re super efficient, clean, and have the best bed side manner. No pain too! I’m moving in the summer out of state but I guarantee I will continue to come back here for dentist visits!
Ive been here twice--once for a cleaning and once for a crown--and this establishment has provided the best dental care Ive ever received. It had been a decade since my last dental appointment (I have had poor and painful previous experiences), and I came in with a lot of anxiety. This anxiety quickly disappeared. Here are some things that I value about Silvana Cumani DMD & Associates:- It was completely pain-free, and the staff consistently checked in to make sure it stayed that way. There is also a poster that has hand signals you can use to communicate whether you are uncomfortable or need to talk/scratch your face/take a break/etc.- It was affordable and, though I was offered a range of options, there was never any pressure or up-sell. They also offered me several payment options.- There was less than 10 minutes of waiting time for each appointment.- There were a number of non English-speaking patients who were able to easily receive services.- They explained each step of what they were doing and why they were doing it.- They didnt just treat the patients well--they also spoke kindly to one another. This went a long way towards creating a calming experience.I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend their services.
I moved to Philly about a year ago and went to this office because its near my house. I have always taken very good care of my teeth, which includes preventive cleanings twice/year and the occasional filling. Despite my best efforts, the hygienists usually spend a long time scraping and chipping at the tartar between my teeth. Its uncomfortable in the moment, but a very satisfying feeling afterward. But the two separate cleanings Ive had with this practice have left me feeling underwhelmed - done in literally 5 minutes! Didnt have that same squeaky, poked-gum feeling afterwards. And the dentist did not seem to do a very thorough exam, either - I felt pushed out on an assembly line. Everyone was very friendly, in a brusque sort of way, but in both cases I walked away feeling dissatisfied with the quality of service. I decided to give them another chance the first time but declined to make a follow-up appointment on my way out on the second.
My most recent visit was great as always. It was my first time in the office post stay at home order and their system was really efficient. There are safety protocol in place and it is very clean. You could also tell that there are a lot less people in the office than normal. It is such a relaxing atmosphere and the staff possesses great bedside manner! I highly recommend this practice.
I have been going to this office for about 4 years now. The front desk staff is very personable and friendly. They do their best to accommodate everyone given the daily circumstances. There have been times I needed to get in immediately and they did what they could to accommodate me. I had to wait but that was ok. I have had all the Dr.’s work on me over the years and they are all great. Very honest and I have never felt any attitude from anyone of them. The hygienists are all very friendly and know what they are doing. I felt very safe going in recently with the pandemic. Everything was clean and I feel their standards go beyond what the CDC is recommending.
First time visit. So much better than my previous dentist. Friendly staff, very efficient, laughed at my jokes (always important). Dentist and technician put me at ease because I was very nervous. They were very professional and helpful. No waiting around. Was in and out in about an hour. Can’t believe I’m looking forward to my next visit!✌🏼
Another six months, another very good experience with Dr. Cumanis staff and assistance. I came in as scheduled (at my last appointment 6 months ago, and they always send reminder emails and/or texts and calls to make sure I remember the date and time, especially as it gets closer), and I was treated very well. The x-rays, exam, cleaning ad polishing were all done very well. They even found a cavity I didnt realize I had, and I have an appointment next week to have it filled. Again, all of the staff is very pleasant and do their jobs well. I have been seeing this dentist since 2012, 2013. They have really helped and inspired me to take much better care of my teeth, something I hadnt done for most of my life. I highly recommend Dr. Cumanis office at 22nd and Montrose to anyone in that area looking for a dentist.
After my second appointment here, I decided to review. The location is clean, the workers are efficient, my dentists have been very nice and more importantly they are just great dentists. They use newer equipment! they use a waterpik type thing instead of old school floss thread meaning a better flossing experience (always my least favorite part of visits - not anymore!) My appointments have taken about half an hour each time. They rule!
My experience with Doctor Cumani and her Associates was amazing!I am always feeling very nervous before going to the dentist but she managed to make me feel very comfortable, even if it was my first time in her office. She explained to me every little detail and let me know on the amount I had to pay in advance! She even spotted my Achilles heel regarding my teeth status which surprised me positively! The stuff was also great, people super helpful and with the appropriate human touch!Thinking about my next visit, I am smiling :-)
I had the most amazing time at the dentist! I mean who can honestly say that?! The staff was great - super nice. Dr. Yasir was amazing and really knowledgeable. I could hardly feel him working either; he was so gentle! That was by far the easiest numbing injection I have ever had, as well as the easiest root canal. I would highly recommend coming to this office. Im actually looking forward to my next visit and definitely bringing my kids too!
I have been going to this office with my children for over a decade and there was a period when we moved that we went to a different office and didn’t like it at all and came back here and it is still the best office i have attended. They have an awesome staff that makes you feel comfortable and their work is amazing and painless. I definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dentist!
Told them what I needed done prior to apt. They fail to do both things I requested, one of which they attempted to outsource me to a different company for.Have little reason to return since apparently the work i wanted done they either want me to go to north philly or a different company all together. Wasted 1.5 hours of my work day.Notes;- TVs are all really fuzzy like they use old bunny ears or VHS on loop. I dunno, something about an office with old weird TV is an attention to detail kind of thing.- Really clean overall.- Had to move me because they only have 1 xray and another client had an emergency- Dentist was nice. Seemed genuinely happy to help and give me insights.- Seemed to understood everything i needed done. He then proceeded to clean my teeth.- Overall did a good job with cleaning.- Wanted me to keep coming back first to fill some cavities, then perio maintenance, then discuss options.Id probably come back, but on my schedule after everything i want done is addressed.
The staff there especially the doctor was very caring and accommodating. You did not have to wait long to be seen. I would recommend family and friends to this dentist office. In the past I fear when it is time to go to the dentist but there I felt my fears were no more.
This office is one of the most well-run medical facilities. It is always clean, with friendly staff. I have only been twice, however they have always taken me on-time if not before my scheduled appointment time. They do great with patient education and I feel like they have my best interests in mind.
This office is amazing, they serve both Children and Adults. I called and got a same day appointment for my 3 year old and he was a new patient there. We got there and the Dentist (Dr. Kumar) was super nice and did an excellent job making my son feel comfortable. We were in and out within like 20 mins. Also the office is immaculately clean, the staff is super nice as well. They have a really nice waiting room for the children, complete with gaming systems and a life size pirate ship. My husband also has gone here for some dental work and got really good service from Dr. Cumani. The point is the dentist can be scary and Dr. Cumani and her staff has made it comfortable experience for the whole family. To the point that my 3 year old is excited for his next appointment! Definitely a keeper!
I was a new patient with this practice and everything about my experience was great. The front desk was nice and very up-front about all costs I would have. All the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I saw Dr. Graham and she was thorough and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend them.
Everyone is so rushed with least service provided. No one is following up with your appointment or insurance approval. Guess what? U have to wait for another month to get teeth cleaned. Unbelievable!! So I waited for about 2 mths. And then my appt is at 8:45am and waited until 9:40am. Teeth got numb gel for at least 20 mins until dentist showed up. Also I’m still nursing. Called back after the appointment to check if the anesthetics they used is safe. I waited online for 18mins and then got transferred to vm. What can I do?! Left vm and of course no one called me back.. who cares if u baby is alive or not?!!!
Ive had several problems with my last couple of dentists--one cracked my back molar in half while performing an extraction and also shaved down my 6 front teeth (without notifying me) because they thought it would be more aesthetic. Neither of these issues were properly fixed and it has been an absolute nightmare. When I went to 2nd dentist, he informed me that I needed over $15,000 worth of work in my mouth and wanted to have a root canal and crown placed on almost every tooth. Thankfully, I looked at the treatment plan again and noticed that some of the teeth already had root canals and I was never told that any of the others ever had cavities! Luckily, I went to Dr. Cumanis office for another opinion. From the start, the receptionist was very professional, kind and comforting. I saw Dr. Mithani and she took the time to go over every possible dental issue and explained that I did not even need half of the work that was quoted to me. She was also able to save 1 tooth I thought needed a root canal by filling it. She stated that although it appeared to be a root canal on the x-ray, that when you actually took the time to look, it only needed the filling. That was the first dentist that had actually taken the time to fully look at my mouth and not just try to breeze through everything. Overall, the experience has been the most positive dental experience Ive had since I was a child. This is the 1st dentist Ive seen in several years that seemed fully qualified and didnt just try to suggest unnecessary services. It is such a relief to find a dentist that I can actually trust to do whats best for me! I am so thankful I found this office and would recommend it to anyone!
Recommend for Kids? NO! Three reasons why Im never going back:1- Scary: Two of their dentists advertise pediatric training/experience on their website. The dentist that treated my toddler, who didnt even introduce herself, was not one of them. The dentist was late, was rushed, and proceeded to fake a smile, poke at our little one’s face, and dig right away into our kids mouth. All within 10 seconds. What happened? Of course the toddler got scared and started screaming. So much for trying to make a kid comfortable...2- Careless: After visually inspecting my toddler’s teeth (with little attention to detail), the dentist quickly began to polish her teeth with a huge amount of paste. Again without warning. The dentist just went in and treated our kid’s teeth as if she was polishing her car. Then she expected the kid to drink water to wash out the paste, clearly not understanding that toddlers can’t spit. When I asked for a brush to get the paste out, she refused, misinterpreting... thinking I was asking for a toothbrush to go (her English wasn’t great), and then used paper towels to wipe her teeth. Again all within a couple minutes. Like a fast food restaurant. Just wow.3- Big ego: The dentist finally came by to put in fluoride paste on our toddler’s teeth. No problem with that, but she described and tried to sell it as a vitamin. When I said fluoride is ok, but that it is not a vitamin, she rebutted and asked me to google it. Just wow... I’m unsure where she got her training, but fluoride is not a vitamin. Its a chemical element that helps keep our teeth healthy, but we dont need as nutrient... This says a lot about her lack of attention to detail, lack of basic knowledge, and big ego. This all happened in about 5 minutes, during which our toddler just wanted to get out of there. She literally tried to run out after we were done. Very upsetting experience. Even more so considering one of the pediatric dentists was on a neighboring station treating... an Adult. We were hoping for a good experience considering their location, but never ever again. Stay away if you have kids.

Dr. Mithrani is no longer practicing in the Montrose St office. My appointment reminders did not inform me of this, so it was a shock to be expecting to see her and find someone new. There were two different radio stations playing, creating a noisy atmosphere that put my nerves on edge. The staff seems more rushed and less communicative under the new leadership (or perhaps under the influence of conflicting music stations). The new dentist was nice and gentle and explained his thinking well, but it was hard to feel open-minded about him since I wasnt expecting to have to see someone new. This makes me worry that leadership does not appear to be making sure all the small details are thought about any more. It makes me feel less confident about the care Im getting.
Really helped me out when I didnt have dental insurance and gave me the most affordable rate with top dollar service. Ive had terrible dentist experiences and even the dentist that filled in while the main dentist was on maternity leave, was extremely considerate and kind. Ill be back in 6 months!
The office is bright & clean, conveniently located w/ good street parking, the staff is friendly & professional, and my doc was thorough, knowledgeable, and very congenial ...it was my first time as a new patient and i was out of there in just over an hour ...a very good experience.
Speed is what this practice prioritizes. For a check up and cleaning you will be in and out within 25 minutes.Though they’re doing their job - it does not feel thorough by any means. The hygienist does the majority of the work while the dentist will do a very brief once over. I’ve never had the same dentist twice after multiple visits - which has resulted in mixed feedback or questioning of what was previously documented. If you want to “check the box” of going to the dentist - these are your folks. If you want to actually take care of your teeth/mouth - likely best to find an alternative spot.
After so many tooth colors, they were finally able to reach a neutral color for me. I still havent finished my tooth. I am waiting for a tooth. I guess its ready now. Since with this of the covi19 no and gone. I give it 4 stars because my work is not finished. Now I think I need something else in my teeth, maybe a whitening or something 🤔 🤷.

2022-06-18If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further. I had such a great experience at this practice. They were kind, communicative, very competent and quick. I was in and put in an hr with two fillings and a cleaning. The staff communicated everything they were doing, how much it would cost, how long it would take and even during the procedures told me what to expect. If you get nervous at the dentist, you know how important this kind of communication is. Overall, a 10/10 experience and I will be making thia practice my go-to.

2022-06-25All I can say is that I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was very knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly kind! The check-in process was very smooth and I received excellent services. I appreciated how they explained something and the kindness with which they were also frank about next steps. I think I just found my new home. Also, thank you, Dr. Siddique! You were awesome!

2022-04-25I usually dont write reviews for professional services but my experience at this Dental practice made me feel so disrespected. The receptionist and front desk staff where exceptional. I was checked in immediately I walked in, and someone even helped me with the computer check-in, as I forgot my glasses. The technician who did my X-rays was awesome, very gentle and professional. (You could tell she had been dong this for a while). Then the doctor come in. Did not introduce her self and refused to pronounce my name. Doctors are required to identify patients by name to make sure you are working with the right patient. Well, after 2 attempts of Oh, I cant pronounce your name and I insist that she could just check the chart, She said maybe I should see another provider. I then asked for her name. She said Dr. Lam. One of the technician came back in and told me there was no other doctor available except if I want to reschedule for the next month. This appointment was booked the previous month. She was so arrogant. Im an African immigrant and coming from an Asian person, I felt very marginalized and disrespected. After reading the reviews about her on her, I guess I should consider my self lucky.

2022-06-11Very unprofessional and unaccountable for being a dental service provider! They are very bad at doing crown teeth. Their doctor broke my original teeth and fill it back and said “it happens all the time.” Also, they chose very different color for my front teeth and when I confronted them that color was off and they were being silent and asked me to pay. This place should be checked by state or city health care government officers whether they should continue providing such unprofessional services to people.

2022-05-10My wife and I have given this dental office multiple chances. Weve both had to have work redone that they had done 6 months prior. Weve been told one price before having procedures and then get to the desk only to find out the price has doubled from what we were quoted. No one should have to deal with that and I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt but this has been a terrible experience over the past 2 years.

2022-05-10Three times I have been misquoted the cost of an unnecessary procedure in the chair only to get to the front desk and find out it’s double the price at which point I can’t do anything about it.Wait times are horrible, 30’ to an hour. And the oral surgeon they require people go to for wisdom tooth removal is absolutely atrocious.

2022-01-12Excellent customer service and minimal wait time. Dr. Lam and the hygienist were so kind and compassionate when I shared my nerves and fears. She was also very gentle and I felt very little discomfort throughout my procedure.
