The food is excellent. The service has gone downhill. I watched people walk out the door because they weren’t being served. Our waitress wasn’t trained, although she had a kind heart. One meal took 2 hours to fully deliver to us because the service was that poor.I wish something would be done to tighten up the service. It was sad to watch people walk out the door when the food is so good!
Well, this was an awesome place in the past. I had been there about half a dozen times and the food was spectacular to include the service. This visit was not that at all. The service was decent, but the food delivered was cold!!! That is never a good thing and we waited forever to have it served. I am tapping out of the Stone Grille & Taphouse.
I feel terribly posting this, but do people care about good service anymore? I have been to this restaurant a few times and each time it has been awful! The food was really good the first couple of time we came here and now is not good. I am not sure what happened. Even our waitress today even seemed bothered that we came for dinner. I am not someone who is picky by any means, I was in the restaurant business for years. This place has a great selection of beers and drinks.
We decided to get dinner here on a Wednesday evening after my sons award ceremony at school. Thinking its a Wednesday, they wouldnt be so busy and it should be a fairly quick service after a very long day. We couldnt have been more wrong! Took 15 minutes to get our drinks (2 sodas and a mixed drink). 5 teenagers were standing around talking at the counter doing absolutely nothing! Then, when the waitress brought the drinks to us (FINALLY) we were ready to order, but she IMMEDIATELY left to get more straws before we could even order. A few minutes later we see our waitress sit down in a booth and start talking to someone, at this point my family is extremely upset with the lack of service! After making our frustrations clearly known the batender gave us some straws and we finally got to order our food. My husband received the cream of crab soup which was EXTREMELY watered down! I ordered a medium burger... It was extremely well done and dry with absolutely no bbq sauce. I couldve bought a burger at Wendys for half the price that tasted better than this! After well over an hour we finally were able to leave! Needless to say this will be our last visit to this place!
Had a really bad experience with our server. Sat for 20 minutes with no acknowledgement. We have two young kids, who were bored out of their minds waiting for a drink. She messed up our orders, food was pretty awful, especially the pizza- very oily. We didn’t get silverware or napkins, had to ask a different server. We’ve been coming to this establishment for over 20 years and won’t be back. It’s such a shame how great it used to be. Oh and when we were waiting for our check for 15 minutes another family came in with the same server and they waited at least 20 minutes too… by my calculations she had a total of 4 tables..
The waitress was really nice. We ordered our food but took over 30 min to get to us even though there was no one in there. Once it finally did, my husbands pasta was cold so we said we didnt want it and didnt want to pay for it. The manager came over and was extremely rude and disrespectful. She blamed us for his food being cold. I have never met such a mean and rude person especially someone who works in foodservice. She should not be a manager anywhere!! We will never go back.
Even though it was extremely slow and there were Empty Tables we still had to wait. After a while we had to ask how soon until we were seated. We were told that we were next up. After that another party of 6 were sat before us. I inquired again with front-of-house stating that I thought we were next to be sat. After this, of all people the bus boy started arguing with me saying that I was incorrect, and that I was told we would be texted when our table was available. Fortunately, who I assume was the manager, stepped in and was able to seat our table. The rest of the experience was good overall. Our server was great, food was okay.
Save yourself the trouble. Dont bother. The appetizer, Crabby fries were fine, but the entrees (Crab Cake and Chicken Alfredo) were terrible once they finally showed up (1.5 hours into our visit). The chicken and crake cake were clearly microwaved. We should have just left when we saw the prices. The manager agreed the place is going down hill and took our entrees off. We left our leftovers as did many others. We noticed some people threw their takeout containers into the parking lot in disgust.
I usually don’t leave reviews but this was deserving because the manager was completely rude. She introduced herself as Tara, should not be in customer service, she called my husband fat and told us that we were impatient because we asked for a manager after being seated for an hour and we had still not received food. That Tara woman is should be fired!
Friend recommend to me! Service was only good thing about this place. Margarita pizza was uninspired. Ingredients fell of wet pizza crust. Friend said coleslaw had too much sugar in it. Kitchen wouldn’t make a cheese quesadilla even though that had all the ingredients for it. Poor excuse for a restaurant.
Went here for a work lunch (just 4 of us) there were maybe 3 other tables being used ordered med. rare steak comes with baked potatoe and green beans the green beans had that rubbery chew and taste to them the steak was well done 😔 and had that burnt on the grill taste which I hate it also took over 40 minutes for our food to come out
This was by far the WORST attempt at a veal parm I’ve ever experienced. Clearly a packaged, frozen cutlet doused in sauce with a tiny pasta side. The food cost on this in no way covers the $19 charge on the menu. Abysmal excuse for a salad also. Redeeming factor was the bread seemed fresh, but in no way enough for me to consider returning.
Very disappointed. My husband and I were there yesterday around 5pm to meet 2 friends. We were seated, our friends showed up about 5 minutes after we sat down and we waited 20 minutes before getting up and leaving. Not a single staff member acknowledged us for a drink or even a hello. We watched other tables getting drinks, people who came in even after us. Just very disappointed we wasted our time.
**UPDATE 12/18. The former owner sold or retired from here so I went back to give it another try. Place had a very different vibe. Had a beer and some appetizers and enjoyed it. Ill be back to give dinner a try soon.***So back for another visit almost a year later, 1/2020. Early on a Thursday around 330. Bartender was wonderful and food was great. We did keep it simple with our food choices. But burgers were very good. Decent happy hour specials. Solid place for dinner and drinks.
I was eating there last night and watched the manager fire a girl in the most unprofessional manner. It was very disheartening. The waitress seemed to have had an undrrstanding and had to leave for her other job. In this day and age its sad to see young people to have to work so much, but to see an unprofessional manager conduct thhemselves like that is un acceptable. I wont go there again. I thought this place was trying to improve, obviously they have the wrong people in place to achieve that!
As the only patron ordering food between lunch and dinner on a Thursday, you would think whatever I ordered would be right on par. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The bartender was courteous and responsive and the drink pours were spot on. However, the grilled chicken sandwich was overcooked as if re-heated in the microwave since, being grilled, there were no burn marks. Was almost like eating a rubber chicken toy but without the reward of dying squeaks with every bite. As for the “Jumbo Chicken Wings,” let’s just say that whatever they consider “Jumbo” is severely malnourished. Skimpiest wings I’ve seen in quite some time and I lived in Boston for 11 years. Not to mention the fact that price wise, although they should have been about $0.50 per despite not being on “Wing Night,” they actually came in a little over a $1 per for less than what you get at Giant or Weis. Would hate to have ordered an entree. Anyway, don’t waste your time except for the bar although, I have to admit, I would have no idea what it’s like when they’re actually busy.
Serve was good.. But a taphouse with one sour beer is a no no.. We ordered two pizzas they took an hour and had hardly any cheese.. Their excuse was they were out of cheese but yet still charged us the full price for two nasty pizzas.. Never again sorry taphouse Im tapping out
Great menu options, very difficult to choose I enjoyed the honey pear margarita and the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Lots of lobster and great flavor. I was seated in the bar area near the door everyone was going out.... there were many other tables available that would not have been so cold and awkward.
My friends and I have come here several times for dinner, they always have a nice selection of beer available and change up their mixed drink menu seasonally with some tasty options. Their turkey burgers are my personal favorite, and their seafood/crab menu items are a close second. The pizzas are pretty solid, and are big enough to share easily. I would definitely say to give them a go at least once if youre in town and looking for beer options and tasty pub food (their cranberry mule is featured in the picture).
Went to Stonehouse Grille this evening for dinner. The service was lackluster, and the food was borderline inedible. Our order consisted of a horribly burnt regular burger, a dry cheeseburger, and a tasteless chicken Oscar. We’d eaten here a number of years ago, and remembered it being good, but for $70 would expect something better. I’ve always been a big fan of supporting the local restaurants, and skipping the chain places, but I think Macdonalds would have been a better choice!!!
The cream of crab soup was absolutely delicious, probably the best soup Ive ever had! The beer selection was great and all the beers I tried were fantastic. Five star experience until I received my 1 star pizza. It was extremely bland! The sauce had no seasoning and the meats were flavorless. I was really looking forward to that pizza and was highly disappointed ☹️
Horrible Food. Terrible service!! The fact this place is even open really blows my mind. I used to work here and got bullied and talked down on every single day. The kitchen managers are also known for being super shady. My last paycheck was missing over 400$! They never sent me my taxes. And even put a false police report out on me to try and keep me away from the restaurant so I wouldn’t be able to contact anyone about the money. They should all be brought up on criminal charges and I will be pursuing them
This is the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. No exaggeration. I think the New York strip steak was sitting around for a couple of hours, then reheated. The green beans were not edible. I gave one to my wife and she spit it out it was so bad. The baked potato was cold. I wouldn’t go back here if I was given a free meal. This was a horrible experience.
Maddie provided excellent service. Crabby fries were excellent. The dipping sauces for soft pretzels were unfortunately bland and visually unappealing putting it kindly. Salads for entrees were excellent. Chicken topped with crab meat was bland on chicken and crab meat was odd which didnt make sense because the crab fries were perfection. Seemed like a different crab meat maybe old or frozen and was served cold. Maddie provided shrimp which was kind and appreciated. Prime rib medium was rare and raw in spots with brite white tendons. Steamed broccoli was fresh and outstanding. Quality certainly exists in thier kitchen just needs to review areas that are weak to be top notch and crave worthy to return often. We will certainly continue to visit again and encourage the fine tuning of their craft! Keep up the good efforts! John :)Update... We returned after 7 months and wow things at our top 5 favorite restaurant have fallen off the edge. Not busy when we arrived with maybe 4 or 5 tables seated and a swarm of employees at host station. After 10 minutes of staring at them one finally wanders over 😑. Cream of crab served luke warm at best, had to physically go to host station to get ketchup and mayo for the steak sub. Chicken Oscar was covered in a dried out looking sauce like it was sitting under a heat lamp. Wife took one bite of it and gave it back while I was hunting ketchup as it was beyond over cooked. Really use to love this place. Done.
Delicious food. Our server was not the greatest but it was Friday and extremely busy. Not a beer drinker but they seem to have a huge selection of it that some would appreciate.* I heard from a former employee that they treat their staff terrible. That makes me reluctant to patronize this restaurant in the future. Not sure how I feel about it.
Absolutely delicious 😋 I ordered the broiled seafood combo plate with twice baked potato and grilled asparagus, plus a side of jalapenos (I love spicy) seafood was good and seasoned with old Bay, very good! The other dish was a very thick pork chop the size of a steak and juicy all the way through! It was topped with a peach bourbon sauce which complimented the pork chop very well. Today was the Oreo creme brulee....it changes daily...sorry no pic...but its served beautifully and tastes amazing!
Eating here was a mixed bag. It was very busy for a Monday evening and they were short handed but the waitress we had was very personable and patient. Loved her. However, earlier we had some issues related to wear we wanted to sit and got a lot of huffs and rolled eyes from a couple of hostesses. The food was okay. My salad was good and the dessert was incredible. But my Tuscan pizza was mostly bread with maybe two inches of toppings, mostly feta cheese. Basically I was eating feta bread. One of my companions had a chicken sandwich where the chicken was so chewy he couldnt eat it. Our waitress took care of it but this restaurant needs to get better with its quality for me to go back.
Just a bad experience from beginning to end...we could not sit where we wanted to due to waitress rotation protocol. Our soup was lukewarm, followed by cheesesteaks that had a small amount of overcooked meat, globbed with cheese that also was not hot. Our waitress breezed by our table, asking if everything ok, but not stopping long enough to hear a response. She did not seem happy to be working, to say the least. Thank goodness for the beer! That was delicious! Certainly our first and last visit to this restaurant.
Probably the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. Pastrami Rueben was terrible and should be removed from the menu. The sandwich had 2 dried out pieces of lunch meat and a scraping of sauerkraut. I brought it to the servers attention and she just acted like oh, this is how we make it. Fries were cold. Won’t go back. I still tipped the bartender because it wasn’t her fault. Yuck
We used to enjoy this restaurant as a family. The last 2 times we have been there, it has not been a good experience. Tonights experience:Positive-Good wings, stromboli, and Bang bang shrimp (apps and bar food seem to be their positive). They have a great draft beer list.Negative-1. Our server was terrible (Emma)-never smiled once, would not come back to check on us for a long time (and it was not busy). Weve never had such a bad experience with a server. 2. I ordered the salmon, risotto, & brussel sprouts--tiny portion of salmon with literally 4 brussel sprouts. I was still hungry when we left. Im comparing it to Crimson Restaurant close by, where I always order fish-its 2x the size at Crimson as Stone Grill for the same cost.My husband ordered the Chicken Chesapeake-which was straight cold--we think the server didnt get it to us--the food took forever (on a slow night) and finally we asked about our food and it came out right away then-was probably sitting there a while. From now on, this will be a spot to get a drink and an app, since they still do that well.
First time trying this place and decided to do an online order. I will say the staff was friendly, food looked and was worth the price! Only reason I’m giving 4 and not 5 stars is due to the cheap take away packaging. Got the baked lobster Mac and cheese and the 14 oz. New York strip, some of the steak juices and Mac and cheese did spill out on the ride home. Other than that I’d definitely come back!
A nice restaurant with a large selection of craft beers on tap. I was visiting York for a few days and staying at a nearby hotel. First time was for a beer. Had a Deschutes Black Butte Porter that tasted like it had spent several months in the keg... a bit stale. Next time had a Stone Grille Lager that was good and fresh. Also had the Sea Scallops with Creamed Spinach. The food was really good. Beer and food prices are good too.
Took a group of 25 here today after my Mother funeral. GREAT SERVICE - the two servers were on top of everything. All staff was well prepared and everyone had their mask on.Food was excellent, hot and on point. Everyone in my party were very pleased. I am sure we will be returning again and again
Went to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. I ordered chicken topped with crabmeat and Mac and cheese. My husband ordered tuna. The food was cold and tasteless. Our waitress never came back to the table to ask how our food was My husband also ordered a beer. I had to to go the hostess and ask where his beer was. He was taking the last bite of his food when the waitress brought the beer. Very disappointed not at all what we expected
Came on a Friday night. Way understaffed (which I understand it’s hard to get workers now due to post pandemic problems) but it took over 15 minutes to get drinks and 40 minutes to receive food. Multiple people around us were having the same problem and had the same look of annoyance. Once we got the food, it was a significantly small portion size for the prices being charged. We won’t be back unfortunately. If you are going to take a long time to get out a product, make sure the product is worth serving.
The staff was wonderful but unfortunately it seems quality of food has gone down. We had the alfredo, au jus, burger and crab dip appetizer. The appetizer was excellent, the alfredo was the worst alfredo we ever tasted, the aus jus was fatty and had hard pieces and the sauce was spilled all over the plate, and the burger was super salty. The quality and prices just dont line up. You also had to pay $1 extra for every burger topping which seemed excessive for a slice of cheese.
Called ahead and was told 20 minutes wait. So by the time we got there we should have been sat shortly after but they gave our seats to the 2 people who had just walked in . Hostess was extremely rude and seemed like she had no idea how to do her job ( short young girl with brown hair) We stood outside for 30 minutes before they finally had us come back in. Suggest not calling in because apparently it doesn’t work in your benefit at all!!! Food was alright but I will say our server was excellent.
Went there on Wednesday night for wing special and they wouldn’t honor it because I was seated in the dining room and not the bar area. Nothing on menu or special that states bar area only. Besides If you’ve been here you can’t really tell the difference between the bar or dining room. Every time I come here there seems to be some reason why I can’t order something. Will never eat here again.
Too many errors and pizza was ... meh.Slow slow waitress..maybe short staffed due to pandemic? Drinks had been empty for 10 minutes and i had to hail the waitress. Then we ordered pizza because the menu said $2 off pizza between 4 and 6 for happy hour special. The menu did NOT state that it was bar only. Waitress and hostess did not state that either.Mgr was not going to give us the $2 off, then they did but maybe couldnt figure out how so it took awhile. Then waitress DROPPED a credit card on the floor and didnt know. Mgr saw it. And waitress put drinks on wrong tab.Not a fun time! And mediocre food.
Took over an hour to receive a pizza and Stromboli. Other tables that seated after us already ate and were paying the bill and or leaving before we received the food. We got our food to go because we had a young child who was starting to get impatient, fortunatelythey brought his food out in a timely manner.Manager was apologetic but that wasnt enough, she didnt try to discount anything for waiting over an hour + for 2 simple items. Once we got home, we were starving and met with disappointment as our orders were made wrong.I ordered a Stromboli with just peppers, ham and cheese. I received pepperoni and ham with barely any cheese. I couldnt eat it. My mom ordered a gluten free pizza, there was hardly any red sauce and the toppings were a pitiful amount. We were excited to dine at Stone Grille Taphouse, and though we loved the wings, the rest of the experience was unprofessional and very disappointing. We will not be returning.
We had a group of 13 at the restaurant yesterday. It took 20-30 minutes for a few members of a party after ordering a second drink to receive it. It took our party 1.5ish hours (at least) to receive our order. Most of our party had to leave to be somewhere and a few other stayed behind to now get our order to go. Our waitress insisted it was our fault several times that we didnt come in together even though we all waited to arrive together. She was incredibly rude to our table when we asked for refills because she had just asked us and rolled her eyes when the orders finally came and we didnt have them all. This was my first time there and it is not on my revisit list. The rest of restaurant seemed to be running well, but the service we received was awful.
Hostess was rude when I asked for the Happy Hour Appetizer Menu. Server was less than attentive. We watched 2 different hostesses treat other customers rudely as they came in. Not sure what the name of my server was since my receipt says Tara but my server was a man. Food was good but the service by more than one left a bad taste in our mouths.
I really was not Impressed Really, well except the Interior was nice. When we were greeted by our Server, she wasnt really that friendly, and she sat down our menus and just walked away...hmm ok , she may of been behind in serving orders,we told her we have never been there and needed to look at the drink menu, she made no suggestions..it was like ordering to a wall. Ordered the 14 oz prime rib med well, it came to the table Mooing, like Seriously you could not look at that prime rib and see it trying to jump off the plate ???!!! After 15 mins of sitting there waiting for her to make an appearance, told her of the issue and she took it back, like 10 mins later she returned with it ....Well done, shoe leather done, we paid $80.00 for our meal...I will not eat there again
I walked in a little depressed and sat down at front bar and had a drink.I tried ordering my usual seafood pizza but was denied it was ever on menu , turns out it was taken off menu, the seafood pizza was something out of this gallaxy! But they could have did the specialty topping option the menu offers of seafood on pizza. Its not for me to know better then employeeI ordered margarita pizza which was so dam good I could have ate the box!I would marry cook!Look at my picture!Ok back to bar, need giant TV on that big stone wall, need something to look at.More TVsCorona was not very cold
Sat in the patio area, loved the vibes. Server was social and friendly. Had the cream of crab that was amazing and the bada bing shrimp! Yum. Only thing I could honestly say was my strawberry mojito looked gorgeous, although coulda used a bit more rum didn’t taste any at all.
Very disappointed. Timing from the kitchen was ridiculous, they couldnt get our meals with sides out together. Waited forever for our sides after the rest of the meal was done. I also noted it wasnt only our table that happened to. Will be trying someplace different next time I am in the area.
My parents are locals who really love this place and wanted to take us, and we understand why - the food was amazing. There were 6 of us, so we had a variety of appetizers, soups, and entrees, and nothing was less than delicious. The filet I ate was perfectly cooked, and my picky teen loved his pizza. The servings are very generous - most of us are stuffed but still taking home half or more of our entree. Great extensive beer selection, including local options. We cant wait for our next visit, because weve already picked out our next meal.
Good beer selection, food was great. One server was focused and personable... Unfortunately I got the other one, hence the 3 stars. But this place has 4 or 5 star potential if the luck of the draw gets you the right staff member. I know, its just a job to some folks and its hard to find good help. Wont stop me from going back some time.
Very tasty food! Got the cedar planked salmon, was a unique glaze on the dish. Also got the Campfire Sling cocktail, delicious. Restaurant is like a relaxed sports bar, while still having a nice restaurant feel. Good place for a family meal, a date, or a night out in general. Nice staff too.
We attempted call ahead seating at 3:30. We were told to call back at 4:30 because our party of 10 was coming at 6. Called back at 4:30 and we were told that they couldn’t take our party of 10 because they had a party of 35! AND the manager said they never had told us to call back at 4:30!!! Lots of lies and not very nice people! Thanks for helping celebrate my parents anniversary- this use to be about favorite restaurant! Found a better place to go!
First time there it was a really nice/ big place. The food was very good & my scallops over risotto was huge. Lots of beers to choose from. Our waitress Ashley was outstanding. She was So sweet and went out of her to tell us things and to find things out for us. I recommend giving it a try u wont be disappointed.
This was once a favorite spot to meet friends for happy hour as the drinks were cold, the crowd was cheerful & the food was good. Unfortunately things have changed a great deal in the last year and a half. This evening a group of ten of us met here to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. It was disappointing to say the least. During the 2-1/2 hours that our group was here our server never checked on us. Not one time. The only time he ever came to the table was when we requested him from a passing bus boy. I definitely wouldnt describe the beer as cold. It was more like lukewarm. The food was blah...not really bad but definitely not good. Sadly we wont be returning anytime soon.
The wait staff was decent. Saw employees cleaning common touch areas and tables frequently. They are not enforcing masks to and from tables but most people were wearing masks. Food was slightly above average. Happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Would have been five stars if not for the mask issue.
Tons of beer choices! My husband, however, likes stout and there werent many of those on the menu, other than imperial stout. The calamari was good, but I would have liked it a bit crisper. The sauce was good! The pretzel sticks were fine, but I would skip the IPA mustard sauce.Kids loved their food and I enjoyed my lager. All in all good, but next time I would stick to entrees instead of appetizers. Or just enjoy a beer!
This place is now on probation with my wife and me. Since moving to York in January, weve eaten here at least 10 more times, and we always tip 50% of the bill because service workers are still hurting from Covid restrictions. Two days ago we stopped in for lunch. Plenty of empty tables in the restaurant area, but the server immediately ushered us outside to the patio area adjacent to two large & noisy groups having an enjoyable time. My wife & I couldnt even speak to each other due to the loud noise level. So we did something we have never done before... we got up and walked out.PREVIOUS REVIEW:The wait staff here at Stone Grille is second to none. These folks are awesome! Whenever my wife & I have come in for lunch or dinner, we were attended to very quickly and efficiently. Yes, there have been times we needed to wait for a table, but thats due to our preference to not eat at the bar or outdoors. With the Covid epidemic in full swing, its refreshing to actually sit inside a nice restaurant and be attended to by the very professional wait staff. Every time that weve vacationed in York we made sure to eat here as often as possible because the quality of everything weve tried has been AAA+++. We always stay at the nearby Home2 Suites, so this restaurant was only a 2 minute drive away from our hotel. Weve recently purchased a house in York that our daughter has moved into, and she has also become a huge fan of this place. If your looking for a restaurant that uses quality ingredients to prepare their food, instead of all those local diners that just reheat frozen food from BJs or Sams Club, take yourself to the Stone Grille and actually enjoy the taste of your food. Highly recommended.
We were recently here for happy hour during the week, so the place was pretty empty. We sat the bar and took advantage of their happy hour menu. The bartender was great and very attentive, though Ive been here when its crowded and that hasnt been the case. She was very nice and served us very efficiently. The three star rating is based solely on the food we ordered, which was mediocre at best. Being literally two of the maybe five other patrons, and the only ones eating food, I was really disappointed in the quality. We ordered two different mussels dishes. One was bland and blah, one was seasoned very heavily and super salty; both were very over cooked and served with seasoned bread that was almost inedible.Ive been here several times, and just cant recommend this place to anyone other than someone looking to have a beer.
If I could give a negative star review it would be -5. We went there to celebrate our 28th anniversary and it was horrible we waited an hour to get our food when it came out it was cold. The blonde manager needs to be retrained in customer service the waitress got lost then when she did come around she told us they were pulling the food from the window and it would be right out 15 minutes later it finally came out the potatoes were that cold they were stiff asparagus was all shriveled up hollandaise sauce had a skin on it. I will NEVER refer this place to anybody.
Unfortunately this review is indicative of our last two visits, even though we have always had fantastic food. It seems as if the service has declined rapidly here. Two times ago during my fathers birthday, our food took and hour and a half to come. While they did make attempts to make it better, ultimately the order was lost somehow and the staff didnt think to check on it. I was also there last Sunday at 5:45 and was seated almost immediately upon entering. I sat there with my brother for 15 minutes without a single person asking us coming over to greet us. We decided that it would just be best if we went somewhere else. Dont get me wrong, so LOVE there food. But the service just seems to be on a decline since we were there back in May.
Some of the time the food is amazing. Others times NOT AT ALL. I dont think Ive EVER had, what I consider, good service. I keep going back in hopes that maybe I just went on a bad day or something but everytime I am repeatedly disappointed. Just tonight, I got the crab dip and I might as well have just gotten a bottle of spicy brown mustard from the store and dumped it in my mouth. At least I would know what to expect instead of hoping for crab dip and actually getting pure mustard! I think this will be my last time. No more tries for them. Too bad. They really had potential.
Take out menu is very limited and the only thing that was good was my sons burger. The BBQ pork was old and dry and the cheese steak was barely seen on the roll. There was really only enough meat to cover on side. Threw away the other half of the roll. Paid too much for nothing. Dont bother. Go to a real sub and pizza shop. I rarely rate but it was just too bad not too.
Excellent Cream Of Crab!!! with an actual decent amount of Crab and good quality, I’d say the best in York!Margarita Pizza is always delicious and plenty to share for a decent price. Waiter we had was very sweet and attentive to refilling our drinks during dinner. Will most definitely be coming back and bringing friends!!!
Best place in york Ive found so far. Menu had an awesome American selection that was prepared with fresh ingredients with awesome seasonings that were delicious. Decor was clean with a chill atmosphere where you could go out with the family for dinner or friends for beers and a game without breaking the bank. The tap selection had plenty of options as well as their mixed drink menus, both of which from my samples were very good. Staff was friendly, helpful, and surprisingly attentive without being pushy. All in all awesome find, I dont just pass out 5 stars, I hope they keep it up.
Funny how we still cant leave zero stars for terrible places like this. Got to this place, walked in, stood around for probably 10 minutes before being engaged by someone. The young lady from the jump had a very unpleasant attitude, then proceeds to ask me how many in my party. I tell her and tell her we prefer to be inside. She was put out by this. They tell me to wait outside which we did, once called to come in, we arrive with our children and are immediately greeted with attitude over masks that no one in the establishment are wearing and the fact that they were going to sit us at their bar. They then inform us they dont have anywhere to sit and that because of our masks we are to take our infant and toddler and wait outside with no time frame given. I find the establishments hiring practices and employees to be very unprofessional and I would not ever recommend this terrible place to anyone. Poor service, had to wait for drinks and the food was not worth the price. My scallop dinner was drenched in balsamic glaze and had no other flavor but that. I feel the glaze should have complimented, not overpowered it. My server never asked how my dinner was or even noticed when the entire meal was pushed aside and not eaten. Boxed up scallops because it seems like such a waste but I know I wont be eating them. Had to ask for the check multiple times, completely disappointed...
Hadnt been before but will absolutely be going back. Restaurant was clean, menu is large and varied, service was great, bar is nice and beer selection is very good. Ordered wings for the table- as good as Ive had in town. I ordered prime rib, wife had baked stuffed shrimp and a pizza for the kids. All of the food arrived promptly, everything was prepared perfectly (even the kids food) and it was priced very well too. If youre tired of the chain experience (Ruby Tuesdays, etc), and you dont want to go downtown, give this place a shot, well worth it...too hot to sit outside the day we were there but have a really nice patio too!
Amazing food, clearly an excellent chef BUT I am very annoyed that there are (appropriately) prominent signs when entering dating “no mask no entry” but our waitress can walk around with her mask so low I can see her nose and lips and she constantly touched it without washing her hands before touching my food and drink. It makes me question the sanitary practices of the rest of the restaurant.
Nothing special. Food was good. Service was good. The party raved about the crab soup. Crab dip, not so much. It was odd that the waitress made a statement that if the soup or dip wasnt hot enough she would heat it some more. Shouldnt it arrive hot and ready? Need to up appetizers . Who ever went to a bar with no nachos??
Service was very patient with us as we were a little demanding. The food came out perfect. The only issue we had was with the call ahead. We called ahead and checked in when we got there. We asked if they had to use phone number as per their procedure. We were told 20 minutes, 30 minutes later we called to check up and they asked for phone number again. 5 minutes later we got called
We had a nice evening! The service was slightly slow but then again it was busy! The cheese pizza we ordered would have benefited from a few more minutes in the oven, and some spices in ths sauce (was sweet). We had cream of crab soup, onion soup, and walnut spinach salad - all were delicious!
They have very few vegan options. I got the veggie pizza without cheese and some of their fries as a side, which are all vegan. The food was really good, but the pizza was a bit oily. The only other vegan option was a salad to the best of my knowledge. I hope that they add more options and maybe make a notion for things that can be made dairy free on their menu. I liked the atmosphere, and they have a space for events so large parties can come. The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. The bathrooms were clean and large (no squeezing in small stalls).
Reserved an outside table for eight in the interest of Covid safety. Upon arrival, it was recommended we use a table isolated by itself on the inside. Both the manager and waitstaff made us feel extremely comfortable with their continual accommodation of our Covid concerns. Oh, did I mention the food and serving of it were excellent?
They are over priced on drinks! $17 dollars for one drink! Then when you asked to talk to a manger about the over priced drink she gives you a poor answer and does not resolve the issue, never let a guest walk out upset fix the issue!! Also can I mention that we waited 20 minutes until we had to go to the hostess table for someone to to our table!
O my god there prime rib oh my God was out of this world I will go back I will .dont lose that cook. he makes a mean machine prime rib it was just perfect the way I asked for it never seen any like that on a plate all the juices and whatever else was on top of itkeep up the good work cook !!
Really good portion sizes. Seems everything they offer has a unique flair to it. You may or may not prefer it but even something as simple as mashed potatoes is going to bring its own unique taste. Wedge 🥗 was nearly a whole head of lettuce. The atmosphere is cool and laid-back without being too unrefined. Look out for the nightly specials, literally, I found them on the wall outside the mens restroom 🤔. Definitely a wise choice considering the nearby options.
Great selection of up to 30 different beers--including the familiar as well as some great local and regional craft brews. Only ever had a burger there but there is because they have such excellent, juicy, tasty burgers. I am sure there are other items worth trying too.
Food and beer selection is really good! Was passing through York on Route 83 South. Great steak tip cesar salad and really good fall beer selection! All is on was a great server! Only one down side by one employee, over heard a male server...did not see or hear his name say he recommends #7 beer on the beer menu. Other serve said why, is it really good. He said NO, it is the most expensive one and it adds to my tip. Other than that great place!
I was here on business and had been traveling all day. The hotel recommended this place and I was glad that they did. The bartender kept me company while I was here and made great recommendations. I had the Hawaiian Pizza and tried a couple of their beers. Everything was perfect. If I am ever back in York I will go here for sure!Cheers!
This restaurant was right across the street from an appointment we had today so we stopped in for lunch. Seated by the hostess, our waiter, Mitch, took our beverage order and was back shortly for our menu order. This place has 30 different beers to choose from! I had iced tea with lemon, my husband chose a beer. He also had a selection from the lunch special , half a tuna salad sandwich and cup of Maryland crab soup. I had the Tuna delight, which was an open - faced tuna melt on an English muffin, topped with sliced tomatoes and melted cheese, accompanied with delicious crispy homemade chips and a full pickle spear. Both presentations were very nice.My husband said the soup was excellent as was the tuna salad. This was certainly a very enjoyable lunch and I highly recommend the food, service, and atmosphere here, for families as well as couples.
We never made it past the hostess. Very rude. We ask to be seated away from the door. The restaurant had numerous open tables. We were a 4 person group. Ask to sit at a larger table in the back. The hostess said no, you are 4 people and that table seats 6 not 4. Really? Hope during a slow period on a rainy cold night that they get a rush of large families. Poor customer service!!
Not a good experience. My brother ordered a burger done well and emphasized no pink, it came out bright pink, had to send it back. My sister asked for no dressing on her salad and had to send it back because it came out with dressing on it. All of our food was either cold or just warm, not hot at all (we didn’t even bother to send it back because we already had to send two dishes back). Food was pricey and wasn’t that great.
My best friend and I came here because Evolution was having a tap takeover and it was great! I cant believe I didnt know about this place and kind of disappointed I didnt know sooner. It has a very comfortable atmosphere and is really nice on the inside. All the staff were very friendly and super helpful with explaining all the beer selections and menu and stuff. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and it was very good! My friend and I shared the Philly Cheesesteak Poutine and it was delicious! We also had the Chesapeake Crab Dip and as someone who typically doesnt like crab I will say WOW It was good too. Also very happy with how our beers were served. We will definitely be back again and I will be sure to suggest it to out of town friends when they come up.
Servers, food, atmosphere ...and beer selection are above amazing! Wings, salads, seafood and specialty pizza creations are delicious. Seafood pizza and buffalo chicken pizza my personal fav. Blackened salmon is also an amazing on top of a ceasar salad or in a dish alone. Check their Facebook page for daily specials. Did I mention the craft beer selection is unique and local? So many good things about this locally owned restaurant.
The food is hit or miss, the beer selection is above average and the prices are a little high.I really like some food here, other food is... meh.Ive had some mediocre salads, and some really good burgers. They do have this really awesome soup that is a mix of Cream of Crab(bottom) and Maryland Crab(top). Trying that soup is worth at least one visit!
We love this establishment. Its very clean and all the waitresses and bartenders are absolutely fantastic and very pretty too.Nick is awesome. If you have any problems, ask to see him and he will definitely take care of you.Great place !!!!!Thank you Nick, you are doing a wonderful job.

2022-04-23When we first moved to the area, this was the first restaurant at which we ate. Great food, atmosphere and beer. They have over 30 beers from which to choose. This latest time, we had the cheese steak poutine, French dip, and the ahi tuna wrap. As always, the food was delicious.

2021-09-15This was another random dinner outing. The service was excellent! The food was as well. Although I will say that the crab chowder was noted to be a little bland. The special cocktail was unique. We also enjoyed a red wine blend from Chili (definitely a distinct plum taste). The wood fire pizza was exactly what I expected. The ruben was beautiful and tasty. Overall, I will definitely go back.

2022-03-13Went here for the first time for dinner. I ordered a beer, salad, and pizza. The beer came out quickly and was cold and refreshing. The salad also was good, and tasted fresh. But, that’s where the good stops. The pizza came out and didn’t even look appealing, it didn’t taste like it either. It was soggy, oily, and didn’t appear to be cooked all the way. It was very droopy and tasted very heavy and bland. I ate a few slices but didn’t end up finishing it. Overall, disappointing experience and after reading some of the other recent reviews, I am not alone.

2022-03-16Literally the worst service Ive ever had in any restaurant. We walked in and stood at the hostess area where a guy with a ponytail looked right through us and my husband finally said hello. Should have left then. I noticed that we had a different server than other tables so I cant speak for all but ours was horrible. I think she was asleep. 2 Ceasars (very light dressing) a soup (instant bullion) and appetizerof shrimp effing drenched in sauce) and we barely dented them. When asked how they were (almost full plates mind you) I said pretty gross actually as I was over it at this point. And nothing. Whisked the plates away with further rudeness and then other workers started to look at our table. I dont like to leave bad reviews and dont usually do it but this was particularly deserving. Also, it wasnt very clean. Hopefully your experience will be better. Maybe it was a one off? Horrible. Never again.

2022-03-26Very nice restaurant. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my entire life. The drinks are delicious and as you might have guessed the food is fantastic. I’d highly recommend the twice or triple baked potato (can’t remember the full name). The staff are always incredibly courteous and friendly. It’s a little pricey though but it seems worth it as a special outing kind of place. All in all I’d recommend it 100%.

2021-12-30We sat at the bar, ordered appetizers which were amazing. I asked for a peppermint martini which the bartender quickly put together and it was amazing. Definitely recommend!

2022-03-03I chose this place because I’ve seen good and bad reviews and I wanted to see for myself. Well of course it’s going to be the bad weigh out the good on this one. I brought a party of 12, and they sat us out in the enclosed patio which was nice. Then they took our food orders and brought 3 peoples appetizers out first. Mind you we called 30 minutes ahead of time and reminded them a week before that we would be there at 12:30. So we waited almost an hour for our food, and when it finally came out the broccoli and chicken was cold. Noodles were barely seasoned. I had a lot of other complaints from my other people from my party as well. Will never eat here again I was so disappointed I really wanted to like this place. And to pay what we all paid (almost $400) was not worth it at all

2021-07-03Absolutely horrible experience. We both ordered the diamond cut steaks cooked the same way. We received two different steaks one thin one thick. Instead of medium like ordered, mine was a well done hockey puck and hers a rare bloody steak. It took way longer than expected to get the horrible food and we had to go eat elsewhere. ** Our waitress was good and apologized for the horrible meal. Explained that they pre-order packaged steaks that are over seasoned. This place has new owners and they seem to be cutting corners to save money. I expected way better from my past experiences under the previous owners.

2022-07-04Nice, clean place, outdoor seating available. Wife got one of their burgers. Burger had a good taste to it. Staff brought wrong burger out first time. Went back and grabbed the right one but something was missing from the plate. I got the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. They didnt have much taste, should see Bonefish Grill on how to make them. The soft taco shells were semi soft like they were half warmed up then set for a while. Might go back and try something else on the menu. Overall not very impressed.
