The store owner is sweet and the food is delicious! The bagel on my nova salmon could’ve been a little less toasted, but comparable to what I’ve had in Manhattan. Great immigrant family that puts love and care into everything they make. The baklava was exceptional and the tiramisu light and delicious.
Today was our first time coming to Talias Grille and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the bagels, helpfulness of the owner, and how nice the different cream cheeses were. The owner was super friendly and gave us a walkthrough of how the bagels are made and gave us several samples of cream cheese to see which ones we liked the best. My boyfriend and I definitely found our new regular bagel shop!
Ive been living in Philadelphia for 12 years and finally found a place for bagels that is as good as the ones I had back home in NYC. There has been a lot of bagel spots opening up around Northern Liberties / Fishtown area, and Talias is easily the best. I just wish I found them sooner. To make things even better, the owners are the nicest people.
Great food, ordered a chicken kabob plate and a falafel plate and it all came with great portions and the chicken seemed to be cooked to order. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. The falafel was crunchy but not dry. One thing that was lacking with the amount of hummus that was given. The women there was very nice the whole time and even through in a bag of chips with my order.
I thought Id try this quaint bagel, sandwich, and grille spot. I was a little put off by the chained entry but wasnt deterred. I was soon put at ease by the beautiful and professional lady who took my order. I got the Autumn panini and the yummy tiramusu, both were absolutely delicious! I will return to try some new treasure there!
Weve been getting Talias for years, and they understand something other places in Philly seem to forget: Bagel Sandwiches should be eaten hot! The food is always so well wrapped that I can open it 20 minutes later when I get home and its still nice and hot. Meanwhile, places closer to me have worse bagels that feel cold before I leave the store. Talias does great hot food and the owners are so kind!
Best bagels you can get in the NoLibs/Fishtown area and would definitely the lox! Went a separate time for lunch and had the chicken and beef gyro sandwich platters which were great. If you dont get breakfast or lunch, you must get the tiramisu! By far the best tiramisu you will find in the city!Owners are great and super friendly. Would recommend trying this place out for breakfast or lunch, but regardless of the time you must get the tiramisu.
I moved to the neighborhood from NYC this past winter and live down the street from this place. I absolutely love it. Not only do they have amazing Greek food but they also have delicious breakfast options and the best coffee in the entire city. In addition to fire food, the owners of the place are so sweet and friendly. Everything is homemade and sometimes I get free samples of some of the food their making when I go to pick it up. I cannot recommend this place enough!!
I love Talias! I got the tuna bagel and my girlfriend got an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. It was 10/10. The cream cheese tasted so fresh and had the perfect amount of spice. Best bagels in Philadelphia. The customer service is also incredible. They are so friendly and kind.
Thought I would try out this place because of all the high reviews. I ordered a breakfast platter with eggs, side of potatoes and sausage. They gave me more potatoes than anything else, one egg and the sausage tasted like it just came out of the freezer. It wasnt good at all.
Grabbed Talia’s for the first time today- they did not disappoint! they served us the freshest baklava I’ve ever had, definitely homemade, and a huge falafel sandwich that really hit the spot. we’ll definitely be back, the owner was also super friendly with us, her regulars, and the delivery drivers that popped by while we were waiting (:
I am very confused by these high ratings... Ordered a bunch of blueberry bagels to find that these bagels contain NO blueberries. Its literally food color 😂. Look at the photos and see for yourself. I got played. Hope you all dont make the same mistake... overall though, as a plain bagel its decent.
Horrible food! Better food at a cart right across the street! Worst of all the owner or whoever was working their is a disrespectful, racist and violent individual that no one should have to deal with! Not a professional establishment, not good food and not a welcoming place at all. Myself and others like me, were NOT treated the same as others.
Listen up everyone! If you enjoy bagels, top notch lox and a variety of cream cheeses - you MUST visit this place! I’m from NYC, and I moved to PHL about six months ago. Since that time I’ve been so disappointed with the bagels I’ve bought. They’re hard, tough to chew and trying to have a Lox sandwich on one of them is next to impossible. Today I discovered Talia’s and it’s like a miracle! FINALLY a bagel that’s lightly crisped on the outside, easy to bite into and chew- and doesn’t feel like lead in your stomach after you eat it. I HIGHLY recommend this little establishment! The owners are super friendly and originally from NYC ( Brooklyn ) and make their bagels by hand fresh daily! You CAN tell the difference! If you want a great bagel 🥯 this is the place to visit! Thank you so much and FINALLY I can enjoy my lox sandwich again! Thank you so much, so happy I found your shop!🙏🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🥯 #theBESTBagelsInPHL
Weird rope at the door to keep people out, 20 months into the Pandemic. Group of grub hub guys outside fighting with the guy. I had to yell my order through the door to the back of the restaurant. I finally got the bagel with scallion cream cheese 15 minutes down the line, and it was cold as ice, I could tell the bagel may have been good when hot. They were skimpy as they could be with the cream cheese.Terrible experience. Third world yelling, fighting, screaming, arguing, and at the end, not even good food.
I tried this place out once on door dash and now I’mHooked. I’m an ice coffee lover and very particular and always disappointed usually but they get it right every time! For a coffee lover, finding the right ice coffee means everything! Not to mention they confirm my order and always have my food to me in like 10 minutes! They secure the coffee so well also so it doesn’t spill on the way. My food is always fresh and hot! Love this place and so happy I tried it out!
Talias by far has the best bagels in Philly. They are unique in that they use water from New York, providing authentic New York bagels within the confines of Philadelphia. My friends from New York love getting Talias bagels when they come to visit. Talias makes great breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and other breakfast items. Their non-breakfast meals are delicious as well. I would recommend Talias to anyone looking for a great meal, especially breakfast.
From the first time I got Talia’s I knew this was the only bagel shop I’d go to in Philly. No others can compare to the sheer size of the sandwiches— it actually feels worth the price and has that extra dough feeling that is missing from other stores. The lox is also some of the highest quality around. I don’t usually give five stars but when I know a place is it then it makes it so easy to.
Talia’s always delivers hot, fresh delicious food with a smile. Their breakfast platter is wonderful. Pair that with an iced coffee and your day is starting off right. The bagels are hot, soft and huge and the cream cheese is always fresh. We love Talia’s and they have never let us down. We will see you again soon. Thank you for all the great breakfasts and lunches.
Talia’s my “go-to” place in Fishtown!! You should see and taste their amazing bagels!!! I adore their beet salad!! Their Baklava is butter and pistachio heaven!! Their menu is huge and everything is Yummy!! The owners are formidable and Are always asking me to taste food that j ask about. Love everything about shopping here. I sometimes call ahead to ask them to save me bagels for pickup because they might be out if I wait too long and I don’t won’t that to happen. I love Talia’s!!
At this location I felt like I was getting served by family! Everything is the store is freshly homemade. Nothing is frozen ever. The owners are so So so nice. The bagels and cream cheese are phenomenal & bagels are freshly rolled every morning. Can’t wait to be back to try the tiramisu! Highly recommend !
Because of the pandemic, I have only ordered out, so cannot speak about the restaurant itself, just the food, which has been consistently excellent!! I particularly love all of their salads; I like to get the tabouli and Greek salads and mix them together. The orzo salad was also exceptional. I’ve had a number of the sandwiches and especially love the autumn panini and the lamb gyro, but also everything else!! Their bagels are the best anywhere, including NYC, and I mean it!! The restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife team; they have always been so nice and helpful on the phone. One of these days, I plan to try the branzino for dinner — I bet it’s awesome. I have never been disappointed!!
The Baklava is delicious!!! I have been going to Talias for about a month and every time I go they are so nice and welcoming and the food is AMAZING. They put a different spin on the baklava then what you typically see. The baklava is flaky and delicious with the pistachios on top. Thank you so much for being a friendly neighbor!- Abel
My favorite go to morning spot in the area. Ive only been here four times so far but each time the owners were very friendly and attentive. While not traditionally a bagel person, I have had one once and I can say it was very fresh. What I really love is the breakfast platter....which I get just for the home fries alone. I would go as far to say that theyre the best Ive ever had. I am definitely making this part of my Saturday morning routine moving forward.
Everything bagel with cream cheese was spot on! Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside bagel, topped with lots of rich, vegetable loaded cream cheese. Definitely worth the price. They werent letting people in due to COVID, but the owner was very attentive to coming to the door to take our order.
Best bagel in Philly so far! Great flavor, not to doughy or thick. The scallion cream cheese was flavorful. Only downside was bacon being limited to turkey or beef. The staff was friendly, quick, and seemed to know half the people by name or order when they walked in. Im sure this will become my go-to bagel spot.
Absolutely GIANT and delicious bagels! And the owners are the nicest people! They are very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Kept offering me free samples of everything! I stopped in on Sunday and got a half dozen everything bagels and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on plain bagel. The rye seeds on the everything bagels are such a pleasant surprise :) I will 100% be back as soon as I get through this half dozen!
Came here for the first time today. We came 5 minutes before they were closing but they still took our order. We didnt realize we needed to call but they were really nice about it. The bagels and iced coffee were were really good I will definitely come back here again but will call ahead next time!
When I walked in Talias Bagels I instantly felt the hospitality of the owners/cooks. I felt like a family member instead of just another customer. Also, I come from a middle East background and have been to the middle East multiple times so I know high quality, authentic Mediterranean food when I see it, or taste it. The bagels and the rest of the food on this menu are AMAZING. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!
THIS WAS AMAZING!! The cream cheese is incredibly fresh - she mixed the lox and jalapeño on a toasted bagel. I could eat this everyday!!Plus, it was the friendliest staff!! She had us try samples while we waited. 10/10. Will never make a trip to Philly without stopping!!
Amazing bagels and cream cheese. Best service ever. The owners operate the business and they are so hospitable and warm. I feel like I am at my own home when here. Try all the cream cheeses they have to offer. They even do half and half. This is my new breakfast spot in Philadelphia
***HIDDEN GEM***Take a bite out of heaven and enjoy some of the best homemade eats youll find in the city. I cannot say enough about the food. The homemade Tiramisu is enchanted with deliciousness and will have you coming back again and again. Iced coffee that could put the large chains out of business. All the food is 5 star worthy. The service is always world class as well. Samples are always offered, jokes are often thrown. You will feel like family, you will love the food, you will not regret it and I promise you will become a regular.
Talias is great! Ive gotten lunch from them a dozen times and the food is always good, generous portions (sandwiches come with pickles and chips), and the family who run the place are wonderful. Falafel is especially delicious here! I need to try the bagels - everyone raves about them.
Excellent bagels, friendly service. The bagels are really good, and they also have a variety of spreads from sweet to savory. All homemade. Lunch and dinner is also available with a Mediterranean flair. The tiramisu is great, halal as it is alcohol free. Love this place.
For a guy who generally has no interest in bagels, this place is amazing. The bagels are huge, tasty and most importantly, FRESH! Made in house, daily, by Adel and his lovely wife, Doaa! They are two of the most friendly people in the neighborhood and always make time to strike up a conversation about anything just to put a smile on your face. If you really enjoy good, quick, eats and most importantly great, bagels youll make it a point to stop in and give them a try. For all the bagel enthusiasts in the area, theres really no excuse to not check them out, at least once. Pretty sure you wont be disappointed, you may even find that they can compete with the likes of NY style bagels. Enjoy !
I live around the corner and its hard to find a good bagel in the city. Ive been back at least 5 times since my first time eating here. I always take a dozen home with me after I eat in the store. The staff is great and the owner (I think he is the owner) was very nice. This is my new favorite place because they have outdoor seating and wifi!
First time we tried this grille and will definitely be back! Delicious bagels, extremely friendly owner and very nice selection of spreads. I had white fish salad on the best everything bagel I have had (which is many!) and the white fish was also very good! The baklava was fabulous (like a cookie shape with pistachios). Close to Playarts in Fishtown.
Best tiramisu in Fishtown.Possibly the world. The slice is three inches deep and hand made fresh in house, never frozen. It’s a fluffy slice of heaven. Talias has sandwiches, salads and NY bagels, hot coffee and cold sodas. The rest of the menu is also great. Eating at this local family run bagel shop is like visiting friend’s house with soul food staples and healthy options. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely lovely spot for breakfast / lunch food! The family is very friendly and the quality of the food is great. Great coffee, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. For lunch, they have gyros, paninis, kabob, and shawarma (all of it is so good and fresh)! I was getting tattoo work across the street over multiple days and I just ended up coming here for every meal due to how fast and good it was. Highly recommend!
This place sets the bar for great food and wonderful people. Our group was met with such genuine care and humor. It felt good to be in their restaurant! The falafel was perfect and complex in all the best ways! The best falafel sandwich I have ever had! CHECK THIS PLACE out and cash in on those good vibes!!! ❤️🙌🙏
By far the best New York bagels Ive been fortunate enough to find!! Friend got the Nova Scotia lox & cream cheese on a bagel and said it was the best shes ever had! My only complaints would be the lack of pork bacon (not halal, I understand) and the overpowering amount of scallions in the vegetable cream cheese. Would still visit every weekend and recommend to anybody looking for a real New York bagel!!!
Straight outta heaven. Philly Style Bagels closed early and I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Easily my new favorite bagel spot in Philly. This wonderful family came down from NYC, and they brought the quality with them. They make all their cream cheeses and everything else right here. I recommend adding fresh beet salad to your order (half eaten photo included).
Talias has the softest and biggest bagels Ive seen in philly! Can definitely compete with New York bagels. The everything bagels have just the right amount of salt and other seasoning-- much better than other local bagel shops. Highly recommended! And the owners are really nice and friendly as an added perk.
My wife and I randomly stopped in while walking by. The owners graciously welcomed us, even though it was a few minutes before closing. We ordered the falafel that was delicious, and were given a sample of each of their salads because it was found out this was our first time there. Everything was great. When leaving, they gave us a taste of their housemade cream cheese and a few bagels. Im heading back there for breakfast.
I picked up a bagel with veggie cream cheese on my way to work this morning from Talias where I balked at the over $4.50 price of it. That said, once I ate it, I cant say that I feel that I overpaid. Its the veggie cream cheese - airy, so fresh and clearly housemade - that brought it over the top. I havent started a day this good in a while.
Im not a bagel person at all, but I need a quick bite before doing some work in the area. I ordered a turkey bacon and egg on an egg bagel. Honestly this was the best bagel I have ever eaten and this is the ONLY food review I have ever written. Good work Talias Bagels.
Honestly, I am SO GLAD I dont have to keep searching for a bagel place. I moved to Philly 4 months ago and have been trying bagels all around the city to find my weekly shop where I can get my dozen. I had no luck and then decided to come here. Amazing bagels - true NY style, super fluffy and the cream cheese is mouthwatering - I got the Jalapeno. I will be back!
I’m from Brooklyn, NY and haven’t found our level bagels in Philly... I was a frequent eater at a couple bagelries in South Philly but this was just out of the park.First off, the owner is extremely pleasant and has an incredibly interesting culinary history. He himself, was a chef in NYC and worked as some prime restaurants. The authenticity of his Greek/Egyptian roots are clearly seen in the food as well. I enjoyed a chicken gyro and it was flawlessly cooked. So happy I found this gem and will definitely return as long as I am in Philadelphia.Bravo!
We order weekly from Talia’s over here at the barber shop. Each order is always prepared so quickly, with attentive service cooking up some great breakfast sandwiches with their large selection of bagels. We’re always glad to have bagel sandwiches around the corner that are easy to grab in a pinch. Thanks Talia’s! - The Philadelphia Barber Company
Stopped in for the first time today. It turned out to be just as they were closing, but they were nice enough to allow us to still order and sit inside to eat. We tried one chicken and one beef shawarma sandwich on pita, and they were delicious. The owners couldnt have been nicer, and offered several samples (beet, egg, tuna, whitefish and orzo salads, along with the jalapeno and the scallion cream cheeses), all of which were excellent. We were even sent home with a couple of their giant bagels to try. Im definitely looking forward to going back.
Did you know this place is named after the cutest little girl, the owners daughter?! Shell take your order and it makes their delicious cold deli salads, huge awesome bagels and tasty homemade cream cheeses even better! For sure worth the trip, easy location right by the Girard L stop in Fishtown.
I worked for this guy doing delivery. I caught him stealing my tips 3 times! $2, then 50 cents and then $2. Tried addressing the issue, coming to an understanding about how my tips were mine, then he did it again. He said that the restaurant belonged to him, and I only made tips because he let me, and that my tips werent mine. In all honesty, the bagels are good, his chicken is good, his pricing is inconsistent, and he doesnt understand the concept of treating his employees fairly.
Everything I’ve tried is delicious!!! I got the chicken swarwma one day and I’ve gone back everyday since for this little orgasm in a pita. Best hummus I’ve ever had. Then I tried the tiramisu... and my life was forever changed. I highly recommend this place, not just bc the food is phenomenal, but bc the owners are very friendly as well.
If you havent been to the spot yet then youre definitely missing out on some good food! Everything I have eaten on the menu has been so good that I dont mind taking the 25 min drive. The food is great and the service is too! Owners are so nice and pleasant; they definitely like to make sure their customers are satisfied. 5 star all the way!
Ordered breakfast sandwiches two hours ago. Tried contacting the restaurant multiple times. First time I called I was hung up on when I asked on the status of the order. Tried calling back three times after and my calls were ignored. Finally got ahold of them again on the fourth attempt and they said my order was out for delivery. Called back 40 minutes later after the food was still not delivered and a different person told us the delivery left five minutes ago and that they were busy. So basically they lied.. Extremely rude and will not order again.
The food is the best Ive tasted but when I got my delivery today instead of dropping it off at the reception desk I was asked to come to the door to get it from the driver personally. After handing me my food he started to yell at me about the tip saying it wasnt enough for how far he had to drive ( which when I checked it on google maps it was just about a 10 minute drive which was late by 15 minutes from my delivery estimated time) that it was a waste of his time and who did I think I was. There were several clients of the business where I work standing out front looking from him to me. He tried to belittle me , humiliate me and harass me yelling the whole time while he walked away from me to his car to leave. His behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable .
Must say that Im very pleased and satisfied with this place. I placed an order on the phone because Im from Lancaster, but wanted to surprise someone special for me in N.Philly and they made it possible! He loved everything I ordered for him,, and that was the purpose. Thank you guys so much! God bless
Nice people, great service, but Im positive after two visits Greek food is not their specialty. Im a Black woman from NYC, I have a fetish for seeking out different Greek restaurants. I love and know why their food is so special, I believe its made with love. Sounds stupid, I know but when u sink ur teeth into Iman Baldi, aka stuff eggplant, how can u not agree. Im not getting anything close to that, they should stick to bagels, leave the Greek food to Zorbas, Souvlaki, and the Greek lady. Im sorry for bad review, but its the truth

2022-05-01I love it here! The owners are so kind & sweet. I typically get a turkey bacon egg & cheese on a sesame bagel & it hits the spot every time. The second to last time I went she recommended the baklava to me, & let me just say when she tells you to try her baklava, you try her baklava! It was absolutely delicious! She recommended her tiramisu next so looks like next time I go I’ll be adding more onto my order!

2022-01-30During a 4 day trip to Philly, came across Talia’s grille and that event I’d call it a DIVINE INTERVENTION. Tried the plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese and I was HOOKED. Then every morning of my trip I went to get it and found a even better combo: their Blueberry bagel with the strawberry cream cheese - TO DIE FOR!! The tastiness of the bagel warmed to perfection, the cream cheese spread so sweet, fruity and delicious spread to literal perfection to fulfill every bite, literally getting goose bumps right now!! But to carry on with the story, I even decided to stock on some the day I was leaving and store them in my luggage, for a person to do this for BAGELS, you know they’re good. 6 months after my trip I still DREAM about these bagels, have tried millions of them trying to find something like Talia’s grille’s bagels but haven’t been successful. Wish they would ship nation wide!

2022-07-15This is the best bagel place in the area with some of the friendliest store owners youll meet. The iced coffee is made with freshly-ground coffee beans and is generously portioned (the small is the size of a large at Starbucks!!). If they havent already sold out for the day, you have to try the homemade baklava. The pastry is crunchy and flaky, and they top it with pistachios for a truly delectable treat. I love coming here because they always go over and above with their service and treat you like family.

2022-07-10Mom and pop bagel spot run by two lovely enthusiastic people (husband and wife?); serving up New York-style bagels along with assortment of other dishes. I tried their bagel scallion, tuna, and lox on different occasions. All were good. They insisted I tried their tiramisu (all their desserts are house-made). It did not disappoint! Will definitely will be coming back to tried their other desserts and of course more bagels. 5/5

2021-10-01First time trying. Delicious!!! Picked up the nova bagel and egg and cheese bagel sandwiches for myself and my teens with a side of homestyle potatoes for lunch today bc I’ve heard so many good things about Talias! Was not disappointed in the least. And I love these potatoes. Also got talked into trying homemade !! tiramisu and took that and some baklava. The tiramisu was the best I ever had. The NY style water bagels do not disappoint. Can’t wait to try more of their menu items over time.

2022-04-16The owners are very nice. They give free samples of cream cheese if you are unsure of what to order. They handmake their bagels and desserts. Nothing is frozen. The white fish cream cheese was surprisingly good. It tastes kind of like smoked salmon. Just be aware that you cant go inside. You knock on the door, place your order, and they bring it to you while youre outside. The service is quick. We will definitely be returning.

2022-06-16My go-to for bagels, they’re all phenomenal. Don’t sleep on the lox cream cheese or the cinnamon walnut cream cheese. I love the proprietors, they’re the nicest folks. Always a fantastic experience! Make sure you go in or call your order in ahead of time, there are sometimes quirks with online orders!
