Some good cemitas they got here I highly recommend those as well as the agua de horchata. My only criticism here is that they need to be consistent because one time my food came out sloppy and bland. All the other times make up for that day though and it’s overall it’s food is a solid 5 stars when they do it right. Also, one time I ordered off the delivery app and they got my order wrong, something that doesn’t happen when I just call them and order for delivery.
Food was delicious!! The waitresses should have better attitudes towards their customers. Poor service doesnt deserve a tip. And the audacity of the waitress to come out of the restaurant to insist a tip, they have to do better than that. Besides that the food was great.
Their food is delicious, but their staff have a nasty attitude towards my family and I. We have visited this restaurant for the last 8 years - that’s how much we love their food. They serve us with an attitude every time we go; therefore, my husband said that it was the last time that we are visiting. I ordered a coffee and had to ask the lady for cream three times before she brought it over. My husband overheard her talking about me with her lady coworker. I do not have an attitude or have mistreated them in anyway. My money is worth the same as any other customer; therefore my money will be spent elsewhere.
Ordered a chicken milanesa pambazo. Unfortunately it had no flavor. I had to add salt, and the salsa wasnt spicy or flavorful either. Even the 3 leches cake wasnt to my liking. It was very bland and not sweet. The whipped cream had more flavor than the inside of the cake. 😔 I didnt even finish anything. I had ordered here a few months back and thought it was great. Dont know whats happened.
This is my and my wifes favorite restaurant. Every year, on Valentines Day, we have dinner here. We live 30+ minutes away now and, despite that, we drove to Tamalex and back to have our favorite meal. During the entire meal, we repeatedly said, this is so good.I always get the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and Im satisfied with life for days after.
Wow Im impressed Ive had the tacitos or known as flautas in other parts of Mexico. Let me tell you they are amazing, full of flavor including all the topings and salsas you get on the side. Im Hispanic born and raised in El paso Texas Ive had plenty of Mexican food around the United States and Mexico I have to say I will be coming back to try more of their food I loved it I give these guys five stars I hope they prosper .much respect for them.
I make it a point to go here at least twice a year...once by myself and other times, bringing someone. Prices are just right, dont pay some complaints any mind, youre getting great food. And you know its authentic, because people from home go there to eat. The pescado Frito(Snapper) is amongst top in the city. They do great with the mix of cuisines they serve. Make sure you dont care if your clothes smell like food afterwards and at times it gets very busy and youll feel inclined to leave earlier because they get more business than they have space during some times. Enjoy
Food was bordering okay. I thought the pupusa I split with my friends was great. My main entree however was a bit disappointing. I got the mar y tierra. I thought the shrimp was overcooked and a bit bland while the pork was okay but a little lacking in flavor. Overall the dish is a bit disappointing because you have an almost souplike shrimp on one side divided by beans and rice and then the pork and salad. It ends up becoming something thats more mushy and a mess than appealing and pleasant to eat. Overall, the service was great but I think the food misses the mark.
How you gonna tell me that you ran out of Horchata on cinco de mayo... Had to ask for water refill. Never got chip refill. Burrito didnt have guac in it even though the menu says it does... Im just saying I cook hash browns REAL good and I never forget to add salt and pepper. With all that said, carnitas (fried pork) was still bomb.
First time I place an order , they gave me the wrong food ... after that I decided to give a second try ... the lady who works there was very rude and impolite while I was dinning in .... well thinking it would be better just to give them a last chance I order a take-out . .. and for my surprise they gave me the wrong food again ..... sorry I like the food , but if I order a steak quesadillas I want to eat a steak quesadillas ..no chicken quesadillas ....... I love they pork chops they are good :)
The food is good but the waitresses serve you with a bad character and they charge you more without giving you the receipt of the prices and how much I order food and I go to pick up Eveses I tell the girl who charges because she is charging me a lot and she gets annoyed when I told them that for me they are charging more so they always do that..
Although the place is small, seriously the food is quite tasty the tacos with handmade tortillas and it is the first place where I found a real huarache like in Mexico City, it is worth waiting a little bit because they have many orders Take away, but the food is delicious and a variety of dishes, not to mention the very friendly attention 👍👍👍
The place is good But it has very little space for more people. Because inside it was very hot, they should put ventilation. Leaving that the food was good but it took me 40 minutes to attend. Its outrageous, people are going to eat not to wait for the slow cooks, the food is not great or excellent. I ordered some enchiladas in red sauce and they were in a sauce that tasted like BBQ AND NOT MEXICAN RED SAUCE. The pineapple water had a lot of sugar. The only thing that would save is its rich red sauce that you put for the chips. Greetings, peace✌🏻
The taste is not authentic nor does it resemble it. Its really a shame what they sell. I know that we live in the United States and that the flavors hardly match those of our countries but there are restaurants that do a good job trying to recreate these dishes that give us a taste of the flavors of our lands. But in this case Tamalex failed with the Baleadas and pupusas I dont know if they have never tried them or they only have one idea but it has been my worst experience wanting to eat food similar to that of my country. Do not waste your time or money. They will be disappointed.

2022-05-22Food is honestly amazing. However, they consistently charge me different prices for the same thing which is never what is listed on the menu. Also, they never have fries despite taking my order for fries each time I call in an order. Definitely strange to me. I started going here instead of Blue Corn, but I think I’ll be returning to Blue Corn

2018-07-09If you want authentic Mexican/Honduran food, this is the place. I have tried their burritos, tacos, enchilada and casadeas all pretty dam good. And there is a lot more on that menu.It is also family-friendly. I see many people bringing the whole family in. Sunday is really crowded. If your new to the area, this is one place to check out. Its on the way towards South Street & Center City. The drinks really interesting. They have the usual Mexican sodas, but the real treat is the freshly made pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe juice. A must try.
