The worst, been in the waiting room,(emergency) for four hours, it took them only 5 minutes 😫, to get my insurance. Security is non- compassionate, to the sick! God there has to be another solution. Oh and keep my appointment so, I dont use the E.R as a doctors office! Thank God, its freezing cold, makes me feel even worst!
I dont know why so many bad reviews I got a double transplant here I had an awsome experience well not awsome that I was a frequent flier, but the nurses the Drs were the best. Especially nurse Sami, Dr Lau, Dr Peng is my favorite Chris Kember the coordinator and Katie. From the moment is went in I was treated well. 100 stars.
Terrible hospital. Dr. DiCarlo does not care. They lie, charge for things they did not do, Bill Bruckner social worker yelled at me I was not doing things in my husband’s best interests and being selfish, refused to follow my husband’s POA and Living Will, put him on a ventilator against his Living Will and he died anyway. Dr. DiCarlo still wanted to operate after he was on a ventilator, saying they do it all the time, but my husband would not have made it through the operation. They are looking to make money. DO NOT GO HERE! HORRIBLE PEOPLE!
This hospital is a joke! Me and my husband have been here in the ER for almost 12 hours. They dont tell or explain anything to you about what is going on with your loved one. The nurse that my husband has had sense he got here has had a hurable attitude from the very start.
I came in for a routine ultrasound at 25 weekspregnant, there had been prior complications withechogenic bowels and short limb measurements, butthis time they said the placenta wasnt pumping bloodlike it should and that theyd be giving me steroidsand admitting me for monitoring. My appointmentwas for 10 am and all I had prior was an applesauce.Around noon they put me on a machine to monitorthe baby. I asked for some food and for the heat to beon since it felt like a fridge in the room. (I havearthritis so laying flat for hours was already rough)They said ok and left. They came in and out to dotests, take blood, give me an IV, etc and kept askinghow I was and I kept saying cold and hungry. Finallysomeone came to turn the heat up and it warmed upfast. They gave me a rapid Covid test which cameback positive and despite me having no symptomsand stating that they often produce a false negative, they refused to retest me and instead scheduled achest X-ray... someone randomly came in withoutknocking or speaking and turned the cool air back on.Around 8pm I had not received any food, I gotdressed to leave to get myself something and the 2ndshift nurse caught me and offered me graham crackeruntil the could find me a meal. I was supposed to betransferred to a room so that I could have a visitor butit is now midnight and I still have no food and noroom. I feel like Im being scammed for my insurancemoney and when I tried to leave they basically said ifyou leave and your baby dies thats on you…. I dontfeel safe or cared for. If you can afford it, please go elsewhere for your prenatal care.
The best thing temple did right was let jeanes Ems manager Nora booth go.the way she abused, treated, and took advantage of the employees under her was terrible. People that had worked under her knew that she never treated anyone fairly.i just wish that more complaints against her were recorded and filed.hr manager Marie Gardner protected her so many times.
Wowww this place is super unorganized. I had such a hard time coming here just simply trying to bring a patient a phone charger, every staff member I interacted with was very rude and each made something up in order to get me to go away with absolutely no help at all, I ended up having to find a nurse to help me
This hospital is on the highway of being shut down. Its the next northeast. The doctors are wonderful, the pharmacy part for the out outpatient however, is not so much they are never answering their phones like theyre supposed to be doing and my father just had a surgery and needed his medicine to be delivered. I called like 7 times. They never returned my phone call. My father was in so much pain, so I ended up going to another hospital to a new hospital and let them know what happened. One of the doctors there filled his prescription instead and I ended up filling out a report about temple afterwards, so they should be getting that fairly soon. I dont play when it comes to family members and people who arent doing their jobs correctly.
I look on here an I she patient experienceIs on here apologizing to patients, it’s bull I see I don’t want to even write my sad ,Ignorant, rude disrespectful, dismissive,Unprofessional experience I’ve had with Temple inpatient hospital...so I can just get a sorry, I see nothing has change, so that tell me alll the sorries but nothing being done...it’s best to just email the ceo.....i bet I will Not have my surgery here now, I’m very afraid...
My mother has a chronic health condition, so Im very well aware to the care Temple provides. This hospital is a disgrace-Short staffed/long wait times (admittance and care)-Not attentive to the needs of patients-Goes for the quick-fix as opposed to making sure the patient has the right remedy-Horrible food
By far the worst experience my daughter went into labor and delivery she was there for over two hours phone died nobody would even come get the charger mind you I was in the lobby so they only had to come two flights down smh she’s a minor and don’t know what’s going on such a poor experience
Currently pregnant and I definitely would not suggest having your child at this facility. In the middle of being transferred to another hospital. Not once was I ever asked was it OK for students to be in the room as I was being examined, my private areas exposed and multiple people be in the room without my acknowledgment is very disrespectful. Friday I had gone into triage for decreased fetal movement the nurse Wanda was very distracted and didn’t even realize I wasn’t connected to the high blood pressure machine before she gave me an in accurate reading. Then had the nerve to make fun of my name and naval ring in my face with yet another student, when I had already mentioned I did not want extra people to be in the room. Almost every appointment I have gone to I have had to wait 45 minutes or more because my doctors are having conversations in the back room instead of checking me in and out. Every check up I have went to you I’ve saw a new doctor. The inconsistency is very annoying. It also feels like I am being pure pressured into having another C-section when I don’t have to. Overall bad experience, not pleased with the set up at all.Follow up : after posting this review a few days later I was contacted by the head of department who persuaded me into going ahead and having my baby here at temple worst mistake I could’ve made only good thing that came about this experience was my baby was healthy and alive, Dr. CJ was exceptional but there was a long layover for me to be transferred from labor and delivery to an actual room then when I got to the room the floor was empty so I wasn’t understanding as to why it took so long. I was fed but not really because there was a gnat in my soup so after that I denied all meals
Where are the tenure physicians? I have seen more interns walking the halls on their cell phones. My son has been hospitalized since Monday and I’ve yet to have a consultation. Dr briefly come in introduce themselves tell next steps but those steps don’t happen. Waiting for transport from X-ray for over 20 minutes still waiting while I write this review. Three patients including my son are waiting to go back to there room. Unbelievable
The outpatient part of this hospital is horrific. I called to get my medication and it took three days for someone to finally answer the phone and I left multiple messages. A man answered stating they only take payments for medication on credit cards. Which is a lie because I paid every time in cash like four times and thats exactly what I allowed him to know. He then put a woman who claimed she worked there for 5 years on the phone she stated the same thing and got an attitude while saying this and told me to describe the people that allowed me to pay in cash, so I did. She said that she was going to report them. At the end of the phone call nothing was accomplished by these incompetent workers and I didnt receive my medication.
I had to go here Saturday 8/28 for emergency appendix removal. My surgery was not until Sunday morning. I got discharged Sunday at 5, and the nurse took me down to the pharmacy for my pain meds. She didn’t know the pharmacy was closed. She then told me if I couldn’t make it to an outside pharmacy by closing time (6:00, and it was now 5:30) that I’d have to come in Monday morning. No pain meds after an abdominal surgery, and when I asked her why temple had no back up plan for these scenarios I was just ignored. She also gave me the wrong info regarding visitors, and I had my mom drive 2 hours to be denied because my boyfriend had visited me in the morning. Two days later I began having symptoms of post-op pneumonia, but after calling the hospital three times with no answer or call back I just hoped for the best. They didn’t do any of the required breathing treatments with me after coming out of anesthesia to prevent pneumonia. They also never called me for my follow up, and every time I try I am hung up on. It’s disheartening because I’m a pre-med student at temple, and wanted to work at the hospital. Now, I never want to go back. Also, no one comes when you press the nurse button. My IV alarm went off for a air bubble warning and I had to walk out of my room, in pain, because calling for help and pressing the button was obviously doing nothing. The place is a joke, I wish I had went anywhere else but I had trust in my university.
0* My daughter was hit by a bus yesterday and they put her in unclean room with blood on the floor and no call bell. She had to call family to get some help. The Nurses was so unprofessional and rude. Years ago Temple was one of best hospital in Phila. It sad to see this happing. When you lose the Care part in nursing you lose everything.
This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. My first visit my doctor prescribed me the wrong medication, my second (and last) visit my doctor failed to give me the paper work to get my medication. Temple Dermatology is filled with staff members who will not pick up the phone. Incredibly dissatisfied, my body is breaking out with boils beyond my control.
I can officially say I hate temple my son sat in that er for two hours the security guards check on the patients more then the nurse do. Then when you asked a nurse a question they got a attitude that I’m worried about how much longer my son going be sitting in pain goto another hospital tell them same thing and my son is being tooken to the back for golf stone
This hospital service is so bad. If asked a question, they get so irritated as to why someone is asking a question them. They need to be more patient as other people are just asking a question. They have such a horrible service. They need to replace their reception staff. They are very rude.
This place is a joke. I’m honestly so sad that this hospital exist. Nobody knows what they’re doing. I asked them about billing. They said I don’t know. I got a bill a year later. I sent it over and they didn’t process. They sent me a threatening mail saying that I didn’t pay for my medical bill. They’re just bunch of gangsters. I asked for my birth control refill also and they have one nurse covering the entire floor. They call this a “hospital”. What a joke.
The orthopedics team was great had 2 sergerys when I was there. I was on the 4th floor. Night staff was horrible and some of my day nurses were the worst. UNDERSTAFed but it believe thats due to covid. Doctor saw me every morning same time. Its just the some nurses staff that I had a problem with. They were either great and took pride or hated there life.
This hospital is terrible. First of all they didnt fix my fathers spiral fracture of the femur correctly so now hes here 9 months later for another surgery. They will not do his surgery until he talks with the finance dept bc he has a $4k deductible or whatever that needs to be paid today. You cannot deny services bc someone cant pay for it. He got a vm from them Friday. He called back. The lady had no clue what he was talking about. She took his name and number and no one called back. So now hes gotta do all this and has been fasting since 1130. Unacceptable. But the last time he was brought in, 9 months ago, he didnt have to wait to get his surgery until he paid or set it up with financial aid. 🤔This place is terrible. And I wish we could go somewhere else ..
Took my baby here for a dr. Appointment. The doctors were good. More confident than the ones at CHOP.My only concern was that there were inmates lined up and shackled In the middle of the very narrow hall leading to the exam rooms. I had to walk with my baby so close to them we could practically touch. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe.
They put my blind aunt into a room with literal blood on the curtains, holes on the walls, needles and trash laying around, and feces caked onto the dirty toilet. My mom went her to visit her and the nurses called security on her, claiming that she was taking pictures of the hospital. Her phone is not capable of taking photographs. They must have guilty consciences for keeping the place the way it is. Dont send your loved ones here.
I wanted to give them a 5 Star review but they need to do something about the emergency parking! I took my wife there and had to walk her from the parking deck because we were not allowed anywhere close to the ER entrance with our vehicle! She was admitted because of something serious that caused here to become legally blind! When I left I had no money on me (you would not expect to pay to park when dropping someone off for a emergency!?!?!??? ) The care was OK until she was admitted into her room this was not a issue with the Medical care just the care from the floor staff! I have never seen anything like this anywhere! This was a few years ago before Google reviews were a thing its time I tell our experience! If you think you will ever need to go-to the ER here make sure you have cash on you for parking or good insurance for a ambulance ride! If you dont you will pay a small fortune for ride to the ER entrance!
My mother had a medical emergency 7/27 I dropped her off at the hospital at 2:00pm she did not get a room in the emergency room until 1:00am 7/28. She waited in the ER for 11hours. Absolutely ridiculous. This is so unacceptable. Temples wait in the ER has always been a disgrace.
My mom had a procedure w a wonderful cardiologist Dr. Vaidya, at Temple. Dr. Vaidya is caring and everything you would want in a cardiologist. Everyone we met in the cath lab (especially “G”) and all of the security guards on the first floor were welcoming and very helpful. But now my mom is in a room for a few days while they monitor her. She said that she had to wait 45 minutes after telling the nurse that she needed to pee (she’s a fall risk & needs assistance getting in & out of bed). This is not healthy for an older person that might be prone to UTI’s. I pray that she doesn’t come home with a bladder infection or UTI.She is not on a restricted diet but has only been given room temperature water to drink, and she was only given a menu the first night she was there. Since then someone just drops a tray off, which is never complete (ie, at least one item from the tray is always missing, even though the order form is on the tray showing exactly what should be on it). I don’t know about you, but I enjoy being able to choose my meals and I especially enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or at a minimum a cup of tea. How is it possible that the only beverage available is lukewarm water?! And why isn’t anyone getting a food order from her? She has asked for ice from the nurses multiple times during the last couple of days but is still waiting. We are very happy with the doctors but less than thrilled with the food service. And because of Covid, I can’t even see her and bring her cold water & food. It’s frustrating & disappointing.
Avoid this hospitals CT scan dept. I accompanied a Syrian refugee yesterday to get a CT scan. They had gone on their own before two weeks earlier and were told that the procedure was not authorized. His letter said to go to his doctors office in the main hospital by 9:45am. We did and were told we werent supposed to be there, to go to the Boyer Bldg. We did, Logged in, waited, saw the intake clerk and were told the procedure was not authorized. I indicated that was unacceptable because we had been told to come for it. The clerk went away, came back, and said it was okay, to go to the CT scan waiting area. A staff member took out paperwork. We waited over two hours before I let them know we seemed to be overlooked. I was told our appointment was for 3pm. How is that possible, to have a doctors appointment to evaluate the results at 10am and have the scan being evaluated at 3pm? Again they relented and took the patient next. We then went back to the doctor to get the results of the scan. There I spoke to the patient relations mgr and his boss to get them to not put others through the same thing in the future. It is so stupid, incompetent, and bureaucratic it is almost hard to describe. The hospital botched the appointment telling us to go to the doctor first, not having the authorization, and not spotting or letting us know the appointment was at 3pm, And this was the second time the refuge had been told there that the procedure was not authorized. It was authorized, at least once and most likely the earlier time also when he was told to go home (after a difficult trip to the hospital). Its mind boggling how disorganized the place is. Somebody should be fired.
I had lost hope in the Temple system. I went to the ER on 8/24/20 about 7:30am. The nurse ANGIE V. was amazing. She showed empathy was understanding and helpful. I had lost my hearing since Aug 2nd and had been seen by PCP, ENT several times. All Temple sites with no help. In this ER visit the doctor herself stated she didnt know what to do for me, but Angie made a suggestion which she followed and I can say that I can hear no loud horn. These doctors really need to listen to the patient and not assume everyone wants pain meds. ENT doctor clearly stated we dont give out any kind of pain meds. I didnt need any, I needed my hearing. THANK YOU ANGIE FOR MAKING TEMPLE GREAT!
Logisticare is the worst service Temple offers for its patients, my mother has to go to radiation for 6 weeks and in just 1 month. I have called more than 15 times always late and they have not even pick her up at home or at the hospital about 6 times already, Its disgusting service.
Literally been in here for a week with broken bones in my legs. 9th floor nurses all neglected me and treated me like I was annoying them when I needed help. Literally had one of the nurses bribe me with more pain meds so I could stop screaming when they refused to answer my call
I have been at TUH twice for pace maker changes. The doctors and pre operation staff is very good. The nursing staff are inexperienced, incompetent, and uncaring,. Very disappointing post op experience. The nursing staff is so much more important now specially when household members are not allowed inside to help.
Arrived in a ambulance due to a car accident I had a head injury an also my knee was swollen they sat me in the waiting room for over 3 hours till I decided I couldn’t sit in pain anymore an went to another hospital. When I asked the guy who was doing triage why do I have to wait this long if I was involved in a car accident he said it wasn’t any beds available an I expressed how much pain I was in he did nothing but be rude. Don’t ever come here this hospital needs to be shut down.
Temple hospital has always been a no no ! U fortunately another loss of our family member at the same hospital. No compassion from the very moment you enter. From the guards to the doctors no empathy. When you explain to patient relations they too show no care at all. I pray that this place begins to hire the correct people. So many run arounds and no answers. One person says one thing the next person says another thing. So unfortunate for the families who live in this community .
Hi ! First of all, let me begin by saying I am a veteran, but love going to Temple Hospital when I have to. Ive been to Temple probably 6 or 7 times in the past year either through the ER, or follow up care. I like Temple because the people always have this attitude of caring. In all my appointments, I was greeted professionally and treated as promptly as possible. If I had a question, the person whom I was asking for information made sure that my question was answered. I have never encountered a rude employee. Being in a hospital for a 3 week stay can be challenging. I found the nurses, and doctors at Temple very communicative and understanding. They were always very good about sharing information with you. I never had any procedure surprised upon me. I was always made aware of what the next step in my treatment as well as my options.
Since my car accidents, Ive had many problems & flares. Yesterday was a very bad & painful day for me! I had an appt with my Rheumatologist, Dr Arundathi Jayatilleke, she is great! I went there for a knee injection. I now have the most violent thoracic, cervical & now the left side of my throat. Anyway, Dr J gave me a few injections in the upper area of my back & I was relieved of alot of pain. Its horrible to slightly turn your head & you get body crushing spasms, to wear you have trouble breathing & swallowing. So, I thank Dr J, for being caring doctor.
I recently just had a baby here. Im more then excited to write a great review. All of my nurses/Physician were friendly and explained everything so that I could understand. My c-section went smoothly. My recovery is going smoothly thanks to them. I would highly recommend.
The lady that checks you in the ER is rude. They wouldnt let me see my mom who was rushed to the hospital. They lady gave me a number to call and noone answered the 1st couple times. Then someone would answer then hang up. This happened from 8pm til 1am. Now their giving me the run around. I understand do to covid19 the hospital have changed some rules, but at least answer the phone and give correct info. Unacceptable poor!
Just visited Temple for some test blood work, chest xray, ekg and ultra sound everything was great. All of the employees were professional, pleasant & helpful. I was in and out in 3 hours. I read the prior reviews before going and needless to say I was skeptical . However my experience was great. Shout Temple U job well done! Thank You!!!!
There needs to be big changes to the hospital. Everywhere I went in the ER there was blood on the floor, the waiting room, the bathroom and the room they put me in. The staff stood by and watched as a patient in a wheelchair was soaking in her own urine and feces for HOURS. It started to make a puddle on the floor but no one came to clean it or help the poor woman. A woman pointed out a sign that says we shouldn’t be exposed to bodily fluids but nothing was done. A nurse walked by the patient and the puddle and said it smelled horrible but did nothing. In the room they brought me back to there was dried blood on the floor, my friend pointed it out but it wasn’t cleaned up, Instead he threw a sheet over it. And I heard a patient calling out for a doctor or a nurse and everyone ignored him because they felt he didn’t actually need help. Lastly, when I called because I had an issue with my medication, the nurse rudely told me she couldn’t do anything because I picked up the prescription already. She said I should’ve said something before but I had no idea what the medication was before hand. I’ve never been in such a disgusting, unclean, unorganized and unprofessional hospital
Was supposed to have a telehealth appointment over the phone with the rheumatologist me being a new patient and here we are at 7:27 pm and I can fully admit I never spoke with the doctor today... my appointment was at 1 pm. The staff was useless, rude and clueless. I waited a month for this appointment. I’m a lupus patient in pain, can barely function at work in a busy pharmacy and I would’ve loved to speak to a doctor today. Makes me miss my old rheumatologist in VA where I am originally from, who would never ignore a patient. This office obviously doesn’t care and I will be going somewhere else, hopefully my body doesn’t fall apart by then... thanks for nothing.
Just terrible. I went there for a check up on my ovary cysts that were giving me troubles and I asked the doctor if she can do a CAT SCAN to check up on them and her exact words were “Do not tell me how to do my job”. I left out of there still in pain, still scared and not confident that I was okay. Just a bunch of miserable doctors getting paid to do nothing. Will not recommend at all. Also not as sanitary as it should be ! Shut this place down, or remodel the whole staff. Ridiculous.
My husband was scheduled for a heart catherization at 11am. He was finally taken back to cath lab at 2 pm after I complained. His procedure was finally done at 430pm. We were not given any explanation as to why it was so delayed. I will not be going back to temple hospital. I already found a new doctor. Poor customer service.
Now on my third child, having an early appointment at 8:30am, I arrived at 8:48am. It was my 1st ultrasound, being about 22 weeks now, so I was let off with a warning about arriving on time. Ultrasound technician did a great job with the pictures, even though baby was being stubborn as hell and would not stop spinning, turning, moving, and hiding. Only downside was that the entire appointment lasted 2+ hours seeing as Im still waiting for the doctor doctor to review the pictures that were taken..
I have to say that I would have never thought the the prestigious Temple university hospital would be down right insensitive when it come to patient care. But I experienced this and much more when the staff of nurses and the financial services dept proved it and more!. My son was treated rudely by the financial services dept ,assumed he had no Insurance and the case worker made a comment in passing cant pay get out we had to ask the nurses to change his wound dressing numerous times but they kept passing the buck. Emails will be sent to the president. Worst hospital in the city!! Treat your patients better and stop assuming they cant pay!
The services and staff at Temple Hospital were very good this past weekend when my spouse was rushed to this hospital. Security-Miss Fisher, couldnt have been nicer and was with my daughter and I with support and care while we awaited his arrival. She is totally professional and got us through a tough time. The hospital was clean and the staff kind and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend Temple Hospital.
Brought my mom to the ER with swollen painful legs, blood pressure in the 170s and after 3 hours of wait. I went to ask the status of why she was not called yet. At first I was ignored like nobody knew anything. I kept standing every 15 to 20 minutes to ask and at some point one of the nurses told me 3 hours is nothing, the average wait is 8 hours. I could not believed it! By then we had already waited 4 hours so decided to stay because my mom really needed assistance. They kept on cally fast track patients and leaving us for last. It has been 7 hours already and we still here waiting. If they call us at exactly 8 hours then it will be true what the nurse said. They made it standard for a patient to wait 8 hours for a bed. Never ever come here to be treated. My mom will never come this this ER again.
My dad had a very big heart surgery, since my experience from day one, 12-28-2020. through the unexpected surgery day, my heart almost stopped & I was feeling down, sad & crying my eyes out, but w/the grace of our LORD & our fam. & friends faithful prayers we got through this long process. My dad made it through. Even though still today I have to take my dad back & fourth to his follow ups & other unexpected appts. But so far the LORD has been on my side & I have been at my dads side from day one till now. I know Temple Hosp. for many yrs. has a bad reputation, but its not the hosp. itself its the ppl who work in it. Its true sometime they dont have sympathy for the fam. of the patient. I experience that the 1st time in ER. But w/my faithful prayers from the start that the ambulance came to my home, they warned me, I might not be able to go in w/my dad. But I did & had no hastle. When there is faith there is hope. I want to thank GOD 1st for allowing HIS hands to guide Dr. Toyoda & his team for taking care of my dad on his surgery day & how well & successfully it went. Also for all the nurses taking their time & kindness to reach out to my fam. & myself when we needed to know about our dad while recuperating & all the staff that were so kind & spoke w/kindness & love. Dr. Toyoda & his staff are #1 in my book & they are beautiful angels sent from our LORD to help us down on earth. OMG just writing this gives chills. When I went for my dads 1st follow up appt. I wanted to see Dr. Toyoda to personally thank him but he was out doing his angelic work. But I left him a thank you card, hoped he read it. Thank you angels Dr. Toyoda & team worker. Thank you Katie NP, my dads other angel. Love you guys. Many blessings to you all & the whole hosp. staff. GB💗🙏 Thank you for the priest who prayed for my dad & the teams prayers too on the day of his surgery. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My sister has been to the ER there several times and each time had to wait hours to register and be seen on the back. She is a heart and stroke patient but that does not seem to matter to them. She was brought in tonight to the ER by ambulance because she fell and her breathing was labored. She lost oxygen. As of 11:21 tonight she still has not been seen and is still waiting. If this is how you run an emergency room, maybe you need to rethink your strategies. I wish she could have been transported to another hospital because Temple Emergency Room is not the best.
The security guards are very rude giving directions and also I went to my 32 weeks pregnancy appointment today and a new student attend me and told me I don’t have to make another appointment, I don’t need to come back like what? As a pregnant woman I’ll never tried to have another baby here.
We lost my mother 2 months ago at Temple Hospital. The experience and lack of compassion was heart breaking. I’ve called to speak with someone and went on line looking for someone to speak to about the terrible service my family and I had during the worst time of our lives. I pray no family will ever experience the inconsiderate and horrible unprofessional service we had at Temple hospital. I will never take anyone to this hospital again. 😡😢😡😢😡🥵
Dr. Weaver , Was my husbands doctor for Spinal cord surgery . I can not say enough good things about this hospital . Everyone we came in contact with was wonderful.excellent service he was in the ICU for four days .My only complaint is that there wasnt any coffee or water for families waiting for hours for loved ones to come out of surgery . I think that people tend to complain before they compliment . We had outstanding service !My husband is walking because of the excellent doctors there.
My sister had to wait 5 hours for a port to be put in. It was supposed to take a hour n a half. Service needs a full overhaul at this hospital. No care for anyone. My husband has test coming up, Im going to have him go somewhere else. Dont trust this hospital anymore.
My wife and I gave birth to a lovely baby girl and everyone and Temple hospital were soooooo helpful!! They knew their stuff and gave us information that we needed. They even helped us with demonstrations on how to care for our baby. The nurses and doctors.... I tilt my hat to them!! So nice with every step of the way. Good job Temple!!
My mother has been at Temple for over two weeks with a traumatic brain injury and the doctors refuse to contact my father. The doctors give my mother information she can’t comprehend or remember and almost discharged her yesterday without contacting us. Have I mentioned she has a severe traumatic brain injury? What was the plan, put her on the curb with a note pinned to her? While the people in Patient Experience were very kind, the doctor who was supposed to follow up never did. Patient Experience is fighting an uphill battle because the rest of the organization is systemically flawed. Despite over 30 phone calls to several departments, no one returns messages. Room continues to be filthy, much of the staff is extremely rude and the doctors categorically refuse to communicate. We are now contacting the CEO, Chief of Staff, Chief Counsel and the Board of Trustees. The fact that this is a teaching hospital is appalling. Clear this lack of communication and attitude is coming directly from the Chief of the Trauma department, who took my father’s phone number today, promised to call him and didn’t. Obviously, I am most concerned with my mother but I feel so badly for patients in the hospital who have no one to advocate for them. This is deplorable, disgusting and cruel.
I checked into the emergency department at 3pm. I am pregnant with severe back and abdominal pain and I am bleeding non stop. It is now 8pm. I finally decided to ask someone what is taking so long and apparently they confused my name with a lady that has the same last name as me who left hours ago. I was told that i was going to be put back in line and have to continue waiting my turn. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have worked in the medical field my entire life and rule number one always look at the patients entire name.
My mom was terminal and the nurses still treated her like s**t. Luckily, we got her out and into hospice within a couple days but they were the worst couple days ever. They are understaffed and if you want your loved one to get proper care do not take them here! The toilet was not flushed and had pee all over it when we checked in, the ceilings are musty and stained, the rooms are tiny and cold/ unwelcoming. My mom was in so much pain and the nurses still took forever to get her her pain meds so she was laying in the bed dying of cancer and in extreme pain for the days we were there. HORRID experience
Just so sad 💔 there was a time that this was a good hospital unfortunately that time has came and gone if you find yourself at this hospital quickly find a new hospital. We found ourselves in the emergency department for the childrens dental department after 4 hours of waiting the police was called on me for being my childs advocate for standing up for what was right I have video of the whole incident where the management slammed the door and me and my childs face after asking for help and informing them that we were there for an emergency room visit I will be following up with charges I do not appreciate the police being called on parents when the hospital staff cannot do their job I will be making a formal complaint regarding this matter I also will be posting a video everywhere so that other people can see were not to ever take your child if youre an emergency.
The staff here is incredible. 0 customer service. Employees spend more time socializing with each other then actually doing work. Security in this hospital is joke. In the time that I spent in the waiting area there was one officer who was either using the hospital phone for personal conversations or sat and used her cell phone the entire time.Nurses aides were no better as they carried on with discolorful conversations while providing care. The lobby smelled like a urinal as the housekeeping staffed mopped with dirty water. Please do not respond with the generic call patient experience. Its evident that management is lacking in this healthcare facility. No wonder hospitals get taken over by networks. I feel bad for the public that only have this hospital as their only option to receive their care in.
Bad experience in the hospital. My wife dileivered in the hospital last week. Although most of the nurses and doctors are nice, there medical services are not satisfied. They evaluated the weight of my baby to be only 5 lb and told me that they confirmed several times that there might be something wrong with my baby. They used scary words to notice us we must get to hasten parturition. But the baby was born to be 6.75 Lb!!! And no any explanation on this! During the delivery process, C-section was also advised before they did anything to help my wife. And we got bad experience in nursing service when we were leaving. No nursing service to help my wife to get into the car after we applied a wheelchair. They were just socializing with each other and seeing us. Overall, very bad experience!!!
Most of the Doctors here are good, Dr. Parkman is exceptional at treating my gastroparesis, however I am in the hospital now and am having a terrible experience. The techs are nice but most of the nurses on the fifth floor, except two, that I’ve had over the last two weeks have attitudes and are not responsive or quick. I waited two hours in excruciating pain for a foley and my pain meds. And one of the residents with my surgeon has major bedside issues. If Dr. Parkman wasn’t affiliated I would never come back. If you need a hospital in Philadelphia don’t come to this one, it’s been traumatic being hospitalized here.I’m adding on, I just called Patient Experience because I’m in a tremendous amount of pain and a fever of 102 and the attendings have not been in even though I was told multiple times they’d be here soon they ordered blood work but have not done anything to make me more comfortable and have been way to conservative with my treatment after the GI doctor who I am here to see gave them recommendations. I’ve been here almost 3 weeks and have barely made progress and today has been a step backwards. Laying here is literally torture. I called Patient Experience and the woman hung up on me when I said this hospital is the worst. I’m really considering calling the department of health. I have a chronic illness that sends me to the hospital a lot and never have I had anything like this happen it’s terrible.Update: Austin at patient experience has been very helpful in trying to remedy the situation working with the nurse manager on my floor. They both have worked with me to try to make it a better hospital stay. And I’m grateful for them during all of this.
Was rushed to the hospital after having 2 seizures to find out that I was 26 weeks pregnant and need a emergency c section. Everyone was VERY nice and made me feel life my baby and I was safe. Love the nurses in the nicu very attentive to me and my son!! Love love love them
The Temple University hospital staff on the 5th floor are not attentive to their patients. My grandma had hip surgery on Wednesday afternoon. The surgery was successful. However, today my grandma had a 102 fever. The nurses took her temperature around 7pm. The nurses also told my grandma they’d be back with medication for the fever. My grandma was concerned about the fever and around 7:30pm she push the call button to confirm if they’d be bringing her the medicine soon. No one responded to her call as of 9pm. Also, no one was answering the phone at the nurse station. Do not take your family to this hospital. Just look at all the bad reviews. If the staff takes long to answer patient calls then they are not safe there because anything can happen during that long wait. Please go to Jefferson Hospital or anywhere else. If anything happens, due to a lack of response by the hospital staff, I will be taking legal action.
Extremely unprofessional and unorganized. The Ob/Gyn department is the worst! I had an appointment for my daughter at 145 pm.. I waited until 245 and still she was not called or was I given any explanation. I had to overhear the reception address someone elses complaint who was waiting there before us.. that the doctors were backed up so basically they were over booked. No one told me or anyone this upon first entering. This should have been the first thing said to anyone who came for an appointment that the doctor was overbooked and there would be a longer than normal wait time. Completely unprofessional. I sat and waited while about 14 patients went ahead of us which included at least 5 that came after us. After an hour and 10 minutes..I left.. I will not be bringing my daughter or myself there ever again! Disgraceful! I am beyond disappointed!
Went to this hospital in my senior year of college at Temple after getting debilitating kidney infections. They were unable to provide the antibiotics I needed, misdiagnosed an autoimmune disorder, and wrecked my stomach with the medications they did give me--that didnt help. After needing to be hospitalized instead of being at my graduation, they had the audacity to say I should have scheduled an appointment instead of going to the ER. I tried to get an appointment four months prior and had I taken the earliest available, it would have taken place after my hospitalization anyway. I lost a total of 75lbs and became underweight because of this entire experience. I never felt more disregarded and uncared for in my life by medical professionals.
I have issues with this hospital. The front desk person was Sitting at his desk on his phone while I in the waiting to go in the back. After waiting a half hour in the emergency room waiting room. Watched the staff talk about a patient at the desk, listened to a nurse talk about her wedding in September with a co-worker. The only positives things is the lady from registration and a nurses assistant was nice. Please dont ask me to call the service help desk which seems like it is a general response. I would not recommend this hospital
I had chest pains and came in after speaking to an RN on a student healthline told me that I should go to the ER. I walked in, got an EKG almost immediately, quickly had my blood pressure and temperature taken, and sat down in the waiting room. I sat there for over 5.5 hours, and ended up leaving before seeing a physician because it had gotten late and I had class in the morning. The staff was unhelpful and unpleasant. For contrast, I called Student Health, scheduled an appointment, was taken back early, had to get another EKG but was given the results immediately and found out it was a GI problem. If you are a Temple student, avoid this hospital - youll have better luck at student health. For everyone else, it really sucks Hahneman isnt around anymore but I imagine most other hospitals nearby would be better.
My doctor referred me to Temple for a lung transplant in November. I called they have gotten my referral. Every time I call starting in December to get scheduled for an evaluation the person takes my name and says that I will be contacted but no one ever calls. I have called four times within a two week period and have received no call yet. At this point I am ready to give up on Temple and ask to be referred elsewhere. Do they understand it’s a matter of life or death for me?
The worst hospital ever! My mother has been in for a week now, after having quadruple bypass surgery, and the staff from day one has been nonchalant about keeping my family updated on her condition. We have been to the hospital several times now, as well as called, and each time we learn something new about her condition or procedures done. I called and found out that she had a cat scan done to make sure that she her brain was functioning properly and to rule out a potential stroke. When we inquired as to why we were not informed of this procedure, we were told (and I quote) that they do not inform family of minor tests and procedures done. How do you deem something so dramatic as ruling out a stroke minor?! The staff has been rude and acting as if they do not give a darn about the peace of mind of the family. This is not the only time we have been told that the family is not told of so-called minor issues. We were recently told that she was moved from ICU but later that day moved back due to respiratory distress and again we did not find out until we heard it from a friend who went to visit her. My family were once again out of the loop and left to hear from rude medical staff who did made it seem like it wasnt a priority to tell us of her distress, stating that we were to only be contacted in the event of a patient taking a turn for the worst. I am furious at this insensitivity and pray that we never again have to go to this place. God forbid there are further complications she will be going to another hospital. Its ridiculous!
A fantastic hospital with very caring and diligent doctors and nurses. I had an unfortunate stay on the pulmonary unit and everyone really listened and made sure I (and all the patients) were given the best possible care and treatment. They are all professional and even the food service was timely and tasted pretty good considering its a hospital. A big thank you to the blue pulmonary team!
The nurses and doctor were polite and treated me with respect. The problem I have is instead of a call the next morning after my surgery to ask if Im ok which they told me they would. I instead received a call from the financial department claiming that my insurance which they have previously approved dont cover me if Im in Philadelphia and I should come to their office to get it transferred. The morning after my surgery. REALLY??? So they tell people everything checks out only to slap you with a huge bill !!!!!
My doctors at TUH are exceptional and caring. Lately, though, I have been unhappy - to say the least - with their telemedicine service. I was expecting a virtual health consultation from one of their top doctors through Zoom or any other platform of their choice and, instead, I merely received a phone call, that was billed like a regular visit. In year 2020. A phone call. I would have appreciated to see my doctors face at least.
It was my first time having a baby. I choose here to have my son. Biggest mistake ever. firstly, the doctors and nurses like to gossip to one another even about private information they shouldnt be sharing. I had Preeclampsia and was supposed to receive a blood pressure cuff which they NEVER gave but lied about giving me one. My insurance company paid for a blood pressure cuff I never received but they even lied to them about it. The midwife was rude as well. Criticizing everything I did. Didnt like that I wasnt breast feeding. I had to share a room with another patient and her newborn son. Her nurse tried to call DHS on her. I even thought she was being judgemental. Things got worse when my son had to go into nicu 5 days after he was born. Some of the nurses and doctors were being dishonest. Other outpatient and inpatients were getting DHS called on them left and right. I felt like that was odd. Then it happened to me. A social worker called into a room but said she was a doctor. But she was a social worker with a doctor. They claimed my son was suffering from withdraw symptoms. I couldnt understand what the doctor was saying at first because she was mumble talking. Apparently he had Suboxone in his system. I never heard of that and dont take any type of drugs. I dont even like taking medication. I told them I didnt take anything. Did they care, no. Funny thing is the doctor tried to say it had to be from the mother but my urine came out negative. Something isnt adding up with this hospital. I will never go here again. I know who I am as a person and I know I dont take drugs. I also didnt like that they called DHS every five minutes on someone. I dont deserve DHS Ive been taking care of kids since I was a teenager. I know Im not a bad parent either
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE !! THIS HOSPITAL REALLY DESERVE ZERO STARS BUT THE ONLY RESAON WHY I PUT 5 STARS SO MY REVIEW WILL BE NOTICED !! THE NURSES HERE ARE HORRIBLE! NURSE KITA AT TRIAGE WAS VERY RUDE AND IGNORANT TO ME AND A PATIENT THAT WAS CHECKING IN BEFORE ME TALKING TO US LIKE WE ARE ONE OF HER KIDS . THE WAITING TIME IS PATHETIC TO GET A BED & SEE A DOCTOR . PATIENTS WITH COVID WAS ALSO WAITING IN THE WAITING AREA WITH OTHERS SICK PEOPLE NOT DISTANCING AT ALL !!! A MAN THAT WAS HIGH OFF SOMETHING CAME IN THE WAITING AREA WITH BLOOD EVERYWHERE DISTURBING US COUGHING EVERYWHERE AND THREATENING PEOPLE I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE .. TEMPLE POLICE DIDNT DO ANYTHING!!! AFTER 20 MINUTES THANK GOD FOR TWO YOUNG BEAUTIFUL SECURITY GUARDS NAME RAYA & SIANI with allied security AND A TRIAGE NURSE barb help take the man out !! GOD BLESS THEM !!
Unfortunately this is the hospital I will be giving birth at. So far my experience here has been horrific. My blood pressure is through the roof, no answers. Im contracting every 3-5 minutes for the last 2 weeks, no answers. I have protein in my urine, no answers. I just sit and sit and sit and sit and then Im told to go home with NO ANSWERS! Ive had one or two really nice nurses and the rest are rude and show no interest in anything but the gossip you here all day outside the room. If you ask questions about what is going on, they make you feel like a bother to them. I will never ever ever recommend anyone to give birth here!
Avoid. If I could select zero stars for this review, I would.Nursing staff is argumentative. You are pre-judged by your date of birth (age), judged (which is ignorant), and treated accordingly. Even the phlebotomist was rude, with attitude, towards me. I felt as if I was in a Third World country. A shabby inpatient experience. In addition, it became my responsibility to keep an eye on my IV fluids, which was a number one priority for me, since I had not eaten for days due to my diagnosis. When I reminded the nurse to reconnect the IV, she became defensive and argumentative, as well. In addition, the doctor who was assigned to me did not make an appearance until 30 minutes before I was discharged!I can say nothing positive about this inpatient experience at Temple University Hospital. It was awful. I have not been hospitalized many times in my life. For minor back surgery, I was in both Jefferson and Pennsylvania Hospitals, respectively. But I have NEVER had a shabby experience of this magnitude. And finally, to add insult to injury, my car was ticketed while in the ER parking lot! Someone from the hospital called the Philadelphia police and had them ticket my car. This, without checking if I was admitted as an inpatient, which I was.Stay away, if possible.
Reviews should be able to post zero stars..........I am fortunate to have had a litany of positive factors and facts that enabled me to ensure that my child did not die as a result of Temple University Pulmonary Department negligence.First, foremost, and always, my child has me.“I” was threatened by the office manager that my child’s care would be asked to be taken elsewhere. That “she and others discussed it.” Because pulmonary is indicative of something minor and warrants no immediate attention. Because talking about a patients mother is deemed professional practice. Because having attended ZERO years of medical school she can educate me on my child’s lung functions. Or any for that matter unregurgitated!Dr. Gerard J. Criner should be aware of exactly how patients and their families are treated by non medical staff members. How their health is negatively impacted. People who are the first face of the department and supposedly in a position to assist. Not depress and add further strife to ones already ailing body/mind.For a medical facility of this financial magnitude, political magnitude, societal magnitude, the scheduling is the most backwards, nonsensical, system implemented since dial up. The fact that an untrained medical professional is to assess individual situations “over the phone” to determine when one can be seen is ludicrous. That or representatives require retraining.Laughable, I think not! I called every other day in December as suggested. Getting no where there. I called every day in January even pleading to be put on a list if someone can not make their appointment.Once in the office the experience offers no further delight. That is unless it is in watching three females sit at a desk chatting the day away about Nothing job related instead of exhibiting common decency to come over and announce that your wait will be a bit longer than expected as a result of.........Nothing, Nothing, we waited 90min, classes were missed, work was missed.NO ONE WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO APOLOGIZE DID SO.This is not about Patient Experience, so do not think you can hand me that load. Notating something and addressing something are two different coins.
I like Temple for my regular visits. I have been coming since I was 13 yrs old. Temple ER however is trash! I do not know how the staffing goes in there but they are very unorganized and the wait time is no less than 7 hours before you are even seen and an extra 2hours once you get in a room to see a doctor. My ER visit there in 2016 was my last because it took 3 visits in total for them to diagnose an allergic reaction to the seizure medication Lamitcal. They gave me meds for pink eye and the flu but the whole time I had the beginning stages of Steven Johnson Syndrome. I am grateful to be past that now but again the ER is trash with this hospital. My brother sat for 7 hours last night there for a lump under his rib cage and all they did was give him Tylenol for the pain and suggested he may have pulled a muscle somewhere. My brother is still in pain and we will be getting a 2nd opinion going forward. They need to do a whole lot better treating patients in their ER. It seems like they only care about gun shot victims and drug addict over doses. That is important but they should have more qualified staff to deal with all these different situations. Pain is never a good thing so if I am coming looking for answers do not tell me what you think could be wrong I need you to know for sure and run the proper tests to be certain of the next move.
My daughter has been sitting in Temple ER with a friend who was having bad complications from her pregnancy. One its 5 hours later and her friend is still in the waiting she is being told to wait. Wait for what a miscarriage, she came there for help. But she feels like they are letting her lose her baby. This is the worst hospital ever.
This hospital has the worst customer care that I have ever experienced and sadly to say it should not be this way especially when a surgery is to be conducted. After a follow up from an emergency visit Dr Kim Bong-Soo informed me I will be required to get emergency surgery so we set a date for the following week. After receiving the news I was in shock and failed to ask some questions so I called the following day the receptionist said the nurse will call me back which she failed to do so the following day I called again and still no call back (how disappointed and disturbing) so I called patient relations and after leaving a message I finally got a call back!Three days later another nurse called me to informed me that my surgery will have to be postponed because of some additional paperwork my insurance company is requestingShe informed me that she will call me back with a date!I decided to call my insurance company and come to find out the nurse had failed to enter the most important code for the surgery. (How disturbing!)I decided to go for a second opinion somewhere else and decided to go with another hospital and surgeon. I feel so much more at ease the surgeon and facility that I had visited was so welcoming the staff was great the nurse took her time to explain every detail. I really did not have to ask any questions. The surgeon spoke highly of Dr Kim Bong-Soo and described him as a superior surgeon but unfortunately Temple Broad St Hospital gives him such a bad reputation because of the poor customer service. I would never return to that hospital! And after 3 days since the nurse had called me to inform me that my surgery would be postponed she finally got around to call me again and to notify me that my surgery date will not be conducted on 3/4 but instead on 3/25. Its supposed to be an emergency surgery and its sad that they did not take into consideration the amount of horrific pain I am experiencing and for that reason I give Temple such a poor rating!!!Note to Dr. Kim Bong-SOO MD your staff are incompetent they give you a bad reputation.I have heard your are an amazing and a superior surgeon I would of loved for you to be the one to conduct my surgery but due to your staff I would never return to that facility! They give me a bad case of anxiety!
Today was the last day that temple profit from me and my family. I took my two daughters to the emergency room which by the way there is no real children emergency room any longer so be prepared to have your children close to sick adults while you wait for 2 + hours to get someone that will ask you insurance information. Last night I took my 3 1/2 year old daughter and my 4 month infant to the emergency room because they were sick vomiting with some blood, and we had to wait for 2 hours and a half to get one bed in a very small space where my wife had to hold our infant in a chair and I was standing holding my other daughter. We waited so long that I thought I went to the wrong area and one male nurse or medical student told me that there were not pediatrician available, and one will be in at 9 am and it was 5:30 am, and we got to the hospital at 3 am. At that moment a felt very disappointed and told them why they took us in knowing they did not have any doctors to see my two daughters. He told me that I was welcome to leave if I wanted to and I did. I just cant believe the city and the government allow hospitals to operate at a such of low standard that you probably see only a third world country.Never again temple.
I thought I was in labor I was 40 weeks pregnant so I went thru the emergency room because thats what I thought I was supposed to do. The women on the labor and deliver floor who signed me in was so rude!! She was was annoyed that I went thru the emergency room and not straight to the labor and delivery floor. The nurses and doctors during my delivery were great I was in labor for 25 hours and was super tired after. When I got up to the maternity floor the nurses were so horrible. They tried to put me in a room with another women who had just given birth which I find so gross to share a bathroom and a shower with someone who also just had a baby like you are bleeding alot and to share a bathroom is so nasty. I complained and was very upset about this because they said my husband could not sleep in the room with me and were being rude when I began to cry. After being awake for more then 25 hours and pushing a baby out the nurses should have been a little more understanding but no! one of the nurses told me to stop crying there is no reason my husband needed to stay with me. Finally they moved me to a private room after an hour of them telling me to basically get over it. also I was never informed that the baby stays with you all day and night and is never taken to the nursery. I had 2 other children at other hospitals who were taken to the nursery after delivery to give me some rest. I was so tired and sick and in pain and 1 hour after giving birth the baby was in the room with me screaming crying. I had no rest what so ever after being in labor for 25 hours. When I asked the nurse if the baby could go to the nursery so I could get rest she laughed at me and said it is mom job not theirs to take care of the baby and he would not be leaving my room. So I didnt sleep for more then 4 hours the entire 3 days I was in that hospital. The nurses were rude and uncareing. Anytime i called the nurses station for something it was like i was bothering them and they were annoyed that they had to bring me diapers or pads it was horrible. I would never recommended anyone to give birth at this hospital.
This is the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I was experiencing chest pain and took an ambulance to the hospital just for them to throw me to the side and have me sitting here for hours! And then I asked when are they going to call me back and was told “I don’t know, it could take up to 4 hours.” 4 HOURS! This is completely unacceptable! This is the first and last time I will ever be coming here again. If I could do 0 stars I would
My daughter in law had a c section 8/25/16 at 11:35pm after 21 hours of labor. Right before they decided on a c section the one Nurse of Asian Nationality came to see Kristin never washed her hands never put gloves on handed her pills to take then said wait I have to scan them all while touching the medication with her unwashed hands. My beautiful 8lb 7oz granddaughter has been in the NICU since then with really no communication to the parents of what is going on. My daughter in law has been in and out of the hospital for over a month with high blood pressure and not until Wednesday did they start treating her for it. My daughter in law did t even meet her beautiful daughter until Saturday afternoon. The nurses did not help clean my daughter in law my son had to change her and take full care of her. Finally today they said she could shower after being in the hospital five days. Worst hospital ever. I wouldnt send my worst enemy there.
Terrible care. They couldnt care less about the well being of their patients. We showed up for my moms appointment a half hour early and they didnt start the procedure until 4 hours later. They gave my mom drugs that were supposed to put her to sleep so they could do a liver biposy. She was awake and aware through out the entire procedure and was complaining of feeling pain. They then drugged her up some more to the point where she could not open her eyes properly until 2 hours after. The drugs gave her an allergic reaction and they blamed it on her own anxiety. On our way home she vomited three times. I call the radiologist specialist on call to ask for advice on what to do and the name of the drug they gave her so that if we got to the local ER they would treat her accordingly. The on call specialist supposedly had no way of knowing what drugs they used on her.... unbelievable! This is supposed to be a very professional hospital and they dont even record what drugs they give their patients!! The on call specialist then hung up on me. I am disgusted by this hospital. If this trouble persists I will be filing a lawsuit.
1/24/17 I bypassed several hospitals from Bryn Mawr to UOP once again. I had triple bypass at Temple back in April 2013. I wasnt crazy about the distance or going into the city. Funny I will go into the city for entertainment but I was hesitant about my health. Not anymore, here I am again for a check up and nothing has changed here. Everyone is saying good morning sir from the parking attendants, the administration staff and the medical staff. What makes a hospital good is not the location or distance. It is the the people who work there and how they treat you no matter what their position or job.Now my drive back home is a happy one because of how I was treated and the care they gave me once again.Sixty-five years old, I have worked in a hospital and have been in many as a visitor and a patient in a few. Patients talk about the people and the service in the hospital not the location and not the bricks and mortar of the place. But I will go the extra mile to Temple for my next 100,000 mile check up.Temple Keep doing what your doing it works
Went with my friends to help with her MS she was physically in pain literally crying, no assistance until like 7 hours later. They take there sweet time in Temple er. Treating parents as if they are unimportant. Worst hospital ever. Dont respond with that lame call the patience department cause its obvious that they need new management.
I have to wonder why theres so many negative reviews ? I spent 3 days on the neurology floor and had no issues. I was made very comfortable and relaxed. One thing I did notice is during the week ( Monday - Friday ) the staff is more attractive ( Saturday - Sunday ) I felt like I was in a closet no one came to check on me, breakfast 🍳 tray was left in room till launch. Lots of noise coming from nurses station all day long some what annoying !! After my procedure my doctors never came to talk to me about what the findings were. Instead after being released I had to go on an information hunt just to get the info I needed that should have been given to me by YOUR doctors ( neurologist )prior to being discharged. Also you get a lot of were gonna do this procedure, example I was supposed to see the ophthalmology department prior to being discharged and what are you know they told me I would see them and they werent in that day. Now I have to make a special trip in the near future back down here.**** PARKING ATTENDANTS in the main garage were courteous they except all forms of payment CASH💰 & Debt cards 💳 .
Waiting for my Sister to be discharged. After we were told 3 hrs ago. That her paperwork was being done for release. When I inquired about her discharge. Because no one had returned with discharge paper. The staff behavior was as if I was difficult. I wanted a reasonable explanation on at least a time frame of her release. At this point I had fed the meter $10 in Quarters. The nurse called the DR.BRUFF to get an idea of what was going on. The DR.BRUFF instructed her to tell me to get more Quarters.Well, how about if the Staff should not have come in my Sisters room telling her she was discharged and her paperwork was being handled. What person wouldnt ask if they were told they were leaving and 3 hrs later they are still here. Staff is Rude. No bedside manner. The patient who was sharing a room with my Sister. She is an elderly. No one helped her with getting herself set up to eat her meal. Didnt open up her beverages. She was very weak. She couldnt even open her tray to eat. I assisted her with her meal.I would never recommend this hospital or any of their clinics to anyone. I would never want to be ill. And have the staff treat me or my visitors as if we were a bother. Temple this is Sad!!!!!
If I could give a -5 star rating I would. Temple University er is the most unprofessional unorganized unsantized hospital I ever been too. If this is what a dentention center looks like then it temple er nails it. Me an fiancé Anthony went to the er because my fiancé had a fever that would no go down and kept rising with the body aches and a bad cough. Upon arrival we waited about two hours after the nurse confirmed his temperature was really high. Once we get in our room the nurse that brought us back there just stuck us in the room then almost refused me with being in the room with him because as they explained “the doctors like their privacy” I do not know what that means but it does not make sense seeming my fiancé couldn’t really speak and was very sick. While waiting for the doctor we were rudely approached by registered nurse John O’brien who told us that the doctor was going to schedule an X-ray at this point we told the nurse that we wanted to skip the X-ray and to please hook him up to an iv to get soon fuilds because his temperature is rising. The nurse told us that if he doesn’t take the X-ray then he will not be treated and if it’s fuilds he wanted he could go and drink water! I explained to the nurse that it’s illegal to refuse any one care and to get the doctor. the nurse then slammed the door and almost hit me in my stomach and I’m eight weeks pregnant! My fiancé is very loving and humble person but that day that nurse brought the a mean side out because how the nurse slammed and almost hit me with the door while we still trying to talk to him. My fiancé was very upset with the level of unprofessionalism and the treatment we received. The doctor was so worried about not making a scene instead of talking to us he hurried and wrote us some scripts! So sad temple er you are by far the worst and I hope the nurse John o Brien is let go because he does not have the skills or sense of professionalism to deal with patients.
Stay away from Temple Period. Over the years this hospital has gone from good to horrible. My family have always used Temple as our first choice for health care, but that stops today. Room was dirty, nurses were hot or cold depending on the nurse, in the hallways staff were more interested into their phones and talking like truck drivers. Absolute disappointment.
I have my niece there and so far they have done the impossible to safe her life. one thing I dont like has nothing to do with doctors at all. front desk staff are rude, lazy and they eat while talking to you. they asked for you license and then give you an ID with other peoples faces that had been there to see her previously, so whats the point of asking if they to lazy to either look for you or add you. imagine if someone goes in there trying to hurt someone, then what. Doctor you ROCK, keep up with the good work. God bless you all.
Unfortunately I had to admit my son there today. This is the dirtiest hospital I have ever seen. I could not believe it. Staff is extremely lazy. I will not recommend to anyone. And please there is no need for your automated response to call you you would like to talk to me. Because there is no excuse for this. And the bad part is numerous people are complaiing about the same things for months and years still no change. So dont talk to me talk to your staff. Respectfully, Michael
Temple hospital. What can I say?? The Worst hospital that I have ever been to. The nurses were exceptional however the people (doctors) (administrators) were the WORST!!! No compassion towards the patients needs.I came in with a compression fracture of the spine. My pain level was nearly a 10 on a 1-10 scale as 10 being the worst pain ever. The doctor gave me Tylenol. I mean seriously??I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. As it’s the absolute worst!!If you’re sick and need a hospital go to university of Pennsylvania hospital. They’re compassionate, understanding, and exceptionally quick to examine you and aid you (help you in your illness).DO NOT GO TO TEMPLE HOSPITAL
Very bad experience. More than 4 1/2 hours in waiting area and close to 3 1/2 hours while being seen in patient rooms. Bathroom dirty and x-ray room with malfunctioning equipments. Stuff, including nurses and doctors are nice and professional though. I will not recommend it to anyone that I know.
This is the #1 Worse hospital in the world. Please stay away from this.My bro get appointment at 2pm for his surgery, we came at 1pm & we were waiting for call. At 5:30pm Dr came & said he doesnt have any empty ot room. So we should wait( for unlimited time) or we gonna make new appointment after 2/3 weeks.
Yesterday and today I have tryed to get information on my daughter to arrive without information. I got connected to the nurses station, after asking for information on my daughters condition I was given a phone number,to call ,after 25 ringed I call nursing services they referee me to patient rep who said she would go up to floor and find out what was going on.After a hour she called me back and told me that the phone in my daughter s room had no receiver and a doctor will be calling me shorty. Its now 5 hours later and no one has cacalled me I belivey that this hospiy is a 1 star facility.
Ugh! They left my shoulder dislocated for over 3 hours!!! By the time they came to do my reduction i was shivering and sobbing uncontrollably. Now that my shoulder is back in place it hurts worse than it ever has after being put back in and i think thats due to how long it was left out! What lasting effect will this have? Their patient care is horrible. They dont care at all, i ended up detaching myself from the monitors and leaving without discharge papers and the iv still in my arm. An experience my Nightmares were made of. Scary.
What a phenomenal staff. I was offered directions numerous times just by staff members passing me in the hall and noticing the confused look. I spent the night in the family room and the nurse brought me a blanket . I cant say enough about how well our loved one was cared for. Thank you.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST ER EXPERIENCES EVERAnd Im speaking on multiple occasions. Expect a 3hr+ wait, staff run around, 2 doctors only on the floor(at least thats what the nurses say when you ask), expect for EVRYONE to give you the SAME EXACT RESPONSE as if they have some script memorized. This is just horrible horrible horrible service and Im Seriously not exaggerating yo. Im so over this. I dont even know how this hospital still stands, the school really covers their ass on this one here
The people always talked about taking there family member to temple working for Temple Hospital was good, until I experience the worse. I had 2 family members died in the hands of Temple employees and I see why because I had hands on experiences working for this company and working side by side with the employees. Temple University Hospital is a ZOO. I was treated unfairly because I came there to do my job and I was there for the patients thats why I thought I was there. I was discharge from Temple hospital after being there for 2 weeks because I seen 65% of the workers dont do there job, I had to much experience and I did my job and I was there for the patients so dont let the name Temple fool you its not a good place to work nor somewhere to take your love ones.
My primary is actually a temple doctor, and love her to death. But the ER is a joke my daughter came in with a sore back, unbelievably they gave her a breathing treatment. I get it, they want to check everything and Im greatful for it But 5 hours iscompletely unacceptable !! Is this what our health care system is coming to.
Right about now I get that you all may becoming overwhelmed with patients due to Hahnemanns closing however Im sitting in ER with my mother and Im noticing several things that are oh so wrong. First this a hospital..we arrived at the ER only to have to stand after scanning, waiting to be screened in. Meanwhile a young man in pain due to a dislocated knee is sitting in a wheelchair leg propped but no ice pack given while he waits...needless to say, he left without being seen. Ive been wheeling my mom around in here as if I work here. Okay so her vitals and such were the second thing done the EKG was first...different but okay. Now I see a young woman with 4 young children, she is the one who is sick. Shes coughing and it sounds pretty bad...why hasnt she been given a mask to put on until she is seen? This is the ER as well as the fact that she has 2 babies. I can only shake my damn head. This place really needs some direction. Why is someone with a respiratory issue still sitting? We may have to leave and go to another ER cause this is simply the worst. I only came here to bring her because its close and Im figuring based on what her need may be, it would be fast. This is never ever a first choice ever. This will be the last time. The bright spot was the woman who did the EKG as well as the guard who had to spray some air freshener due to very unfavorable body odor of yet another person coming into the ER. This place is in desperate need of direction.
I came in to the ER with what turned out to be a broken ankle. I had visible swelling and intense pain all across my right foot, yet I was only offered a wheelchair to be moved to the x-Ray room and back to the waiting room. I had to suffer walking to register myself, suffer walking to the nurse who first assessed my foot and gave me the little wristband, and suffer walking all the way to the furthest patient room (when they finally have me one). I distinctly remember the frustration I felt limping after the nurse who showed my to my room, as she watched me hobble in pain without even thinking of offering assistance. I waited more than an hour to be seen by the doctor and get some pain meds, and the doctor himself, while seemingly competent and very amiable, failed to mention the massive bruising I was going to get in a few days. This was a very big scare and necessitated a visit to another hospital, where more knowledgeable professionals reassured me of the bruises benign nature. Overall an almost entirely negative experience; I received the bare minimum of care.
Terrible communication. You get about 30 different times for your appointments. Registration missplaces paperwork and makes you sit around for 2 hours like morons. The staff is so rude. The only positive place to thus hospital is Dr Parkman. Everything is always at least an hour or so behind schedul so if you have other plans dont plan on making it to them.
The emergency here is the worst you wait FOR HOURS!!!! I get there because i am pregnant and been having cramps ( they didnt take it seriously). There are people in the ER sick throwing up just a room full of suffering and no actual help. I ask a nurse if she can give me water and i was told to buy water from the machine. So your nurse cant give me water temple? I legit cried and just left i regret going there and the way i was treated.
I would like to post a review on behalf of my friend Faina Kirina. Last month she had a surgery with Dr. Karachristos. The doctor was highly professional and passionate towards the patient. As always the recovery time was very challenging. However, the all stuff of intensive care unit tried to make this experience less difficult and painful. Faina would like to express her deepest gratitude to all doctors, nurses and professionals who worked with her. There are a few special thank you ( we may misspelled names - but we hope that you recognize yourself here) : Maggie, Nancy and Mickie.
Dr. Parkman is the best. I travel 4 hours to get tests and now treatments when my Drs at my home town had no clue what was wrong. I am so comfortable with him and he explains everything in detail. I feel very safe and secure under his care after many months of not knowing what was wrong with me he has solved my medical puzzle and now I can start treatment and get my life back . The nurse Mrs.Jackson who did alot of my testing was fantastic she made me feel so at ease during this stressfull time and loved her sense of humor I was so glad the next day I got her to do my next phase of testing ,she is a big asset to that department and the way she helps the other staff members with such a cheerfull positive attitude while she is multitasking is priceless. Would recommend Dr. Parkman to anyone the man is absolutely intelligent and his staff are a wonderfully group of people. keep up all your good work and generosity it makes a really big difference to a patient when you are treated as kindly as Dr.Parkman and his staff do.
I was instructed to arrive 1.5-2hrs early to register for my testing in the cardiac unit and for the third time Ive had issues with the registration people. First time, four different people told me to go somewhere else to register when I actually was in the right place from the start. The second time and third time, I waited in the ECHO/EKG/Blood draw waiting room for over an hour for the registration woman/man to return from lunch. Every other person told me that they had no idea where anyone was and actually had no idea what to do. Very uninformed and confusing!Other than that--extremely nice and helpful doctors.
Ive been going there for years I had a good Doctor for about three to four years then he left and they give me a woman the first day we met she was over a hour late and was very rude and really didnt ask me anything about my health in fact all she did was change my Meds without even knowing anything about me and when I called to get a new Doctor and explain how I was treated it was thrown under the rug a I was told I had to deal with her cause shes on the team!! I wouldnt suggest anyone that Care about there health to go there now after 4years I have to go through a bunch of bull to find a new Doctor theres a lot of rude and impersonal people working there I was basically told i have to deal with her or find another Doctor
Dr Rodrigo Valdes Rodriguez gets 2 thumbs up from me, seen him while at an appointment with my Mother, he was very nice, understanding and answered all questions without rushing us out. The receptionist, check in and out staff, and medical assistants were also excellent at the time of our visit to Temple Dermatology, thanks and God Bless!
This is one of the worse hospital I’ve ever been to. The WORSE! I’m visiting my aunt and it’s been 12 hours since we been here. They still haven’t gave us a room. Then they tell us they got a room for us but like 3 hours later they tell us somebody took it. I’ve been up all night and been waiting on something to sleep on. I had no sleep at all. Thanks for making me comfortable 🙂
Worst emergency room Ive ever been in. I had to go there two nights ago. The entire waiting room was full of drug addicts who were just looking for a place to sleep for the night. Everyone was throwing up, scratching, coughing, walking around with no shoes OR socks. I cannot make this up it was a horror movie. A man walked up to us gesturing a gun with his hand pointing it at his head & we had to get security. He just kept walking around back & forth. The waiting room smelled absolutely HORRIBLE. (To paint a better picture of the smell .... imagine a car full of homeless people with the windows rolled up with the heat on after a long night of drinking) we stood up majority of the time. We were there for 3 hours waiting to be called to the back but wand up leaving before my name could get called because of the nonsense & how uncomfortable we were. Idk if environmental services had the week off but that smell is UNACCEPTABLE especially when you have to sit amongst it for several hours!
I have family here at Temple, I love the Drs they explain everything before they attemp to do anything! The staffon the other hand needs some customer service training(immediately)! Although the nurses on icu are exceptional there is always unfortunately one rotten one in the bunch.
Some of the nurses didnt feel like doing their job....i am on certain medication which if they took the time to call my Dr or even LOOK up my scripts I wouldnt have to have left against medical advice especially having bleeding in my brain you would have THOUGHT to find out my allergies to certain medications as well as my medications so i could at least be comfortable enough to stay....or even just make sure i was comfortable!!!! They checked out my head but never checked out my leg which 3 days later I still cant put full pressure on it and I am still getting HORRIBLE headaches and still dizzy spells!!!! I wish I was alert enough to ask for the charge nurse....i was in and out of a stable mind but when I was I remember saying to them I have worked in the E.r. and know the protocols as well as my rights as a patient....I honestly wish i was in my right state of mind to ask for the charge nurse but I guess with my fall and injuries to my head and the bleeding in my brain unfortunately made me unaware to think to ask.....I WILL NEVER TAKE SOMEONE I LOVE OR EVEN MY PET THERE!!!! Unfortunately before the ambulance came and while I was in the ambulance if i knew they were going to take me there i would HAVE them drop me off at the side of the road!!! Or if i was conscious while i was still home i would have told them to leave and went to the hospital my Dr was affiliated with!!!! If you want horrible care than this is the place to go to!!!! Looks like im not the only one who has something HORRIBLE to say about this hospital!!!!!! Some of the male nurses were good but OVERALL CARE WAS UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE!!!!
Temple Hospital has the most horrendous service . Coming in to the ER and waiting for over 5 hours to be seen by a doctor is unacceptable. The staff is unorganized and grossly incompetent. Also the facilities are odious, no soap in the restrooms and vomit around the toilet. This facility is an embarrassment to Temple University and needs to be retooled and restaffed. Dont ever come here, not even if youre actually dying!
This review is for their dermatology dept. This was the first dermatologist I started seeing when I moved to philly but i stopped going when my usual doctor at this location moved out of state. I didnt like the demeanor of the front desk people and the 3 doctors I saw when my usual doctor moved didnt have the best bedside manner. One of them wanted to do a biopsy on a keloid. I have had keloids for years and seen many doctors and none of them would suggest this bc cutting a keloid will make it grow larger. He had no idea what he was talking about. When I told him I didnt want a biopsy things got awkward and he brought it up again later in the conversation. It was the strangest doctor visit i ever had. Walking through the rest of the hospital is like walking through high school hallways. The security guards and lower level staff are loud and ghetto. I guess thats bc of the north philly location idk.
For Dr. Gary Cohen in Vascular Interventional Radiology : You may be a Top Doc in Philadelphia Magazine and U.S. News & World Report, but your Nursing staff just plain stinks. They are rude, insensitive and their Nursing care is deplorable. During the case, I was never offered pain medication even though you said that they are well-trained in Critical Care and Procedural Sedation. I guess screaming in pain isnt covered as a sign that someone needs medication because putting an abscess drain in is REALLY PAINFUL. Also, I never had vital signs taken once while in the Recovery Area within Interventional Radiology. The Nursing staff was apparently too busy eating lunch supplied by one of the Sales Representatives. Now I know why the Nurses are unionized !!!
I’m sorry i would never recommend nobody to this hospital i was there the other day with pain on my right side of my abdomen first the lady in the front decided to diagnose me before i even seen the provider she stated oh you have kidney stones excuse me first of all they were more into their life and social media than taking care of patients they mouth piece was very nasty. Security guards smh terrible...my father was waiting for me on a chair not even 2 min pass by the lady that was doin ekg that night was very rude told him to get off the chair that’s not for him to sit at even if she could of told him in a nice way.So i left and i would never go into this hospital again sad to say i had my children in this hospital that i thought was good at one point but i would never step foot in this hospital. I went to Einstein took well care of me! Will never recommend temple
If you can, never go to TUH, go to Jefferson or UPenn or literally anywhere else. Ive worked in 2 countries and 3 states, and Ive never experienced such a lack of professionalism. Also its incredibly pricey.I had to take my husband to the ER at Jefferson earlier this year and the wait time was 5 minutes, the staff were attentive and professional, and the bill was less than half the price of TUH.I had a horrible experience when I came to the ER here last year. I understand ERs can be busy, but I was there for seizures and 14 hours after entering triage I had 2 minutes with a doctor who didnt hear a word I said and diagnosed me without actually reading my file. He was incredibly rude, and when I asked for a second opinion he laughed at me and called another doctor over. The second doctor told me if I was really sick that I would have gone to a neurologist instead of the ER. Two weeks later I was billed for $1500.I decided I would never go back until yestersay when Temple Main Campus Student Health Services (with whom Ive only experienced excellent, professional employees) told me it was urgent I see a neurologist and that I should speak with Financial Services in Zone A015 to see if my insurance was active, and to get financial assistance with my treatment if it wasnt. I wish I had never went. The man was super rude, told me it was absolutely free to go to the ER, and that I should go there if I was actually sick. When I questioned that ERs were free, he got offended and let me know that he worked in the industry for 15 years. First of all: hes telling me the opposite of what the doctors told me. Second of all: ERs are not free in the United States.I really hope this helps someone make a better decision about where to go when he/she is sick. Good luck to everyone reading this, and hopefully Temple will raise its standards before health care ultimately gets reformed in this country.
Sunday 4 2021 12 30 pm my father 76yrs was taking to the hospital in the ambulance to the emergency and when he got there with alot of pain they put him on a waiting area and left him there like a simple animal waiting after a while they took him back by himself with no body because the covid protocol wich no make sence after that is 530pm and we havent heard anything about my dad we have being calling to the hospital with out any luck no answers we are so desperate for answers and we cant find any one this is the worst hospital 🏥 i just hope people read and understand what we going thru
This place has nothing but GHETTO PEOPLE working there . Went for a visit of a family member, I’m waiting by the elevator and the security lady is having a full blown conversation on speaker phone with every other word being “ fuck” . Made me sick. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
DO NOT GO TO TEMPLE UNIVERSITY HEALTH!! WORST CARE EVER!! UNPROFESSIONAL, DONT CALL BACK, ESPECIALLY THE GI DEPARTMENT, WAS NEARLY KILLED 2X by nurses lack of skill, attention, or care as an inpatient!! THEY FAIL CONTINUOUSLY TO FOLLOW THROUGH with proper scheduling practices and make ZERO EFFORT to apologize for screw ups and failures in services!Took 2.5 months to get my records and ONLY got them by showing up in person to call them out on all departmental failures to call back from GI to to payment services whom I contacted over a dozen times and left long detailed messages with PLEADING to PLEASE release my records and stop holding them hostage over $6.80 and take my payment!I dont know how an institution run like this!If you dont want to die, be killed by a careless nurse, or if youd like to be called back, I STRONGLY SUGGEST you find medical treatment at a different facility! If I could give ZERO STARS for this review I would!!,Ive been escorted by THE GI DEPT to the ER for immediate admit and still waited OVER 12 hes in the waiting rm the sent back with a clogged and dislodged nj tube at the time! They were fixin to just send me home with no care! I said no I need it pulled and a j tube placed! Now Im on TPN and violently vomiting 15-20 times in a day but each time Im in the bathroom 6-8 vomits. And Parkmans office will offer no meds and just screwed me on my appointment and said oh well guess your gonna have to wait till May now. Ive already waited 9 months to see him! This hospt is DIRTY, SMELLS, AND IS EXTREMELY UNORGANIZED!
The place is dirty. I have never seen a dirtier place then this hospital. The fact that you can smell urin the moment you walk in really says something. The staff is extremely rude and wouldnt help find documents that they misplaced. Had us running around in circles for hours. 10/10 would not recommend.
My daughter was released from the hospital on a Friday night and Saturday night she was back in 10 days later the department that took care of her was not even aware that you was back in miscommunication the entire time confused employees and Dr a lot of flirting going on between staff members extremely concerned with the quality of care. The place is also very clean in public areas but the rooms fuzz hanging off of the fixtures sprinkler system
I have a friend who was transferred to temple from another hospital . I called the ER and was told that I cant tell you anything about the patient. All wanted to know was he assigned a room and was told he is here my question next was so he was admitted the rude person on the phone said he is here . Its outrageous the staff at this hospital is so rude . Temple doctors have a great reputation but the HR people need to check the customer service staff
WORST HOSPITAL IN THE CITY. The receptionist/intake ppl are rude and super nasty, the wait time at this hospital means wait until they feel like getting around to you. Hopefully you get the correct medicine unlike me i got ciprofloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic for my ear infection AND THEIR EYE DROPS.
Easily the worst hospital in the country. I went to the E.R. complaining of severe stomach pains, to the point that I was in tears. They sent me home almost immediately because nothing was wrong. Few hours later I am rushed to the hospital with a ruptured appendix.Dont go or send your family members here if theres actual medical issues with them.Staff is also rude, and dont seem to actually care that much about their patients.
I had a very bad experience at the Temple ER, I went there for acute pancreatis and I wasnt even kept overnight. I was discharged at 2:30 in the morning, throwing up from the morphine I was given and all I was told was that I had to see a gastro enterologist, was given pain pills and was sent on my way. Worst ER ever!
If you need help dont go there especially if it’s a emergency. They will have you waiting very long ,by the time you get help you will be dead.A man came in sick barely could walk and throwing up and said his sugar is high all they did was stand there and no one helped. This shouldn’t be a hospital this is a waiting room wanna get you in and out
Wait time in the ER can be between 5 and 8 hours to get admitted, in order to be seen by a physician and diagnosed, especially in the winter. If your visit is determined not a medical priority, you may be waiting longer. It is not 1st come 1st served, instead its bed availability and severity of your life vs the possibility of death. People come for simple things like pain, cough or even flu. The flu is considered a simple thing in this ER unless you have a pre-existing condition such as Coronary Obstruction Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) or something other related to infectious disease or asthma. You may get seen right away if youre bleeding from new open wounds. Good luck if you have no other choice but to visit this ER.
Had to wait 2 hours past my moms schedueled heart catherization appointment. Probably would of been longer if i had not gone 2 admissions desk and asked them why it was taking so long. Come on Temple U get with it. If u want too be considered the best hospital in philly need to step it up.
Terrible hospital, I was supposed to get treated back in February at this place but they left me in my room even after closing hours. I had to speak to security and changed sent to a different hospital. Which is worst they havent helped me at all whatsoever since like May. They don’t contact me at all or keep up to date with me. Terrible experiences in this hospital.
I would highly recommend Temple to anyone. My experience with a Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy was practically pain free. My presurgery consult with NP Moser was the most thorough thoughtful experience one could expect to have. NP Moser easily spent nearly 2 hours with my family and I explaining what to expect before, during, and after surgery. Not only did he answer any and all questions during the presurgery meeting, NP Moser was available up answer anything we thought of after the meeting. Then as a Veteran, NP Moser assisted me through the paperwork I needed for the Veteran’s Administration. This was a long process, but he never stopped helping me. NP Moser and Temple University Hospitals Surgeons, Nurse’s, and entire staff are absolutely the best.
Its a very good hospital and doctors. My fiance is pregnant and her doctors are through temple, they always do a thorough check and ask her millions of questions. We were goimg through Dexel, they werent as good and the hospital they use is very dirty. We really dont want to go through any other hospital or doctors.Just a honest Opinion.
This hospital and all of the Orthopedic facilities that fall under it are horrible. I am a workers compensation adjuster, and NO ONE will get back to me. I have contacted these facilites 25 times (no exaggeration). I have been trying to obtain SIMPLE information for more than 6 months. This is absolutely ridiculous.I couldnt choose zero stars, so I had to choose one.Feeling extremely frustrated.
This hospital is the worst its suposed to be an emergency facility yet you have to wait 4 hours to be seen and the chairs are hard. My experience was terrible the allied universal employees are horrible they don’t know how to talk to people they called the cops on me just because i decided to sit in the plastic chair instead of the hard metal chairs so i sat on the floor then they threatened to kick me out the hospital despite me being a patent waiting to be seen by a doctor I dont recommend anyone go to this hospital unless they are Going to see a specialist if you have a emergency any other emergency room will do temple is not the one for you
I went to what I thought was was a my first Drs appt for my pregnancy (this isnt actually David Chou, BTW), and it wound up just being a preliminary blood work visit. One of the nurse assistants spent the majority of our time together trying to convince me to join her pyramid plan of selling bundles of electricity, phone, cable and internet providers. I dont want her to get fired, so I wont repeat her name, but it was really inappropriate.
You are going to wait! 4 to 7 hours to be seen. Unbelievable. Unless youre shot, stabbed, or clinging to life in some way, YOU ARE GOING TO WAIT! Be prepared, pack lunch and dinner, maybe breakfast. Toothpaste, toothbrush, wet wipes. Bring a pillow, blanket, and reading materials. Any paperwork or homework, you have, bring it. Cancel all plans for the next 24 to 48 hours. You will live here. Who knows. Its like walking into a black hole. You might actually recover from your ailment by the time youre seen.
My Boyfriend Went To Go Get A Check Up For His Finger . He Was Barely Able To Complete Daily Tasks . We Were Sitting There For Three Hours And All That Was Done Was A Freaking Registration . This Hospitals Staff Does Not Do There Job ; They Socialize Way To Much . I Would Not Recommend This Hospital To My Family , Or Friends .
I went to the ER here once. Its located in the middle of North Philly so its one crazy E.R. I had a priority issue and they handled it exactly like they should have. All the staff were very courteous and professional, even the security guards. If you go there with a broken arm, expect it to be like every other E.R. in the country, big city or small town: youre going to be waiting for a long time. If you get shot in the chest or have a heart attack though, youd be lucky to have it happen near this hospital.I also set up an appointment for my PCP here and the appointment system was fast and the service people were really exceptional. The people I have dealt with over the phone were really excellent. I found out it is a #1 ranked Hospital nationwide according to US News and I can see why.
I came into this hospitals emergency room on 6/11/19 at 1:00 pm. Because of being dizzy for the past 2 weeks. And now it is 4:00 pm and i am still sitting in the waiting room. I am getting so hungry that i have a headache. I am ready to walk out of this good for nothing hospital. 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
The service of pessimo, today January 25, 2019 in the emergency room, I waited 6 hours to be attended, I made the decision to return to my house although I felt bad, I preferred to return to my house to rest, to be 6 hours sitting in a bank so hard. its not niceIf you feel poor health
My sister was having high contractions she is a high risk pregnancy previously loosing 2 in the past we called the ambulance and they took us to this hospital she is in alot of pain cant walk and what they end up doing is making us wait in the waiting room. Came in at around 3:45 pm is 4:10 pm right now and going. This place is horrible shes about to loose her child!! I will update when she finally gets help!!
I hate going to temple hospital the doctor they come and tell you one thing and straight up tell you there nothing wrong with you then the next day or the same day they switch there word up and make you look like you miss understand what they say they have waiting in the waiting room for hour then they have you sit in a room all day just to tell you there nothing wrong with you
Had a scheduled chest ultrasound yesterday.. I showed up and was processed.. As i was waiting for the test a medical assistance told me that there is only one doctor at Temple who can administer this test and he happens to be on vacation until April 26th...Then i was told i need to call and reschedule.. Why was i scheduled in the first place? Needless to say that i am frustrated beyond belief !!

2022-02-13Had a work incident on 1/31/2022 @ 1220PM. Had an ambulance ride to Temple ER. Arrived around 1300. Had cut my ear almost in half horizontal. Triage was great had me fast tracked to get to the back quicker for treatment. I was in a room in a corner in a chair (who knows it ot was even cleaned) no sheet on it. After being there 1.5hrs my arm and hand were fatigued from holding pressure to keep the bleeding stopped. If I let off pressure the bleeding would start up again. I guess a laceration of the ear isnt that important. I had to go out and find a nurse to get assistance to have a bandage or something so I could relif for my arm and hand as I couldnt even feel them nor tell if I was even putting enough pressure on the wound.I waited about 2.5hrs after being brought back for the 1st plastic surgeon to examine me. Said she would be right back and NEVER came back; well another 1.5hrs later the ENT plastic surgeon came in. I will say Dr.Lee was professional, courteous, and did a great job sewing my ear and cartilage back together. He made sure for me i was comfortable with the pain management but in a timely matter so he could achieve the goal.During my entire waiting process I was not checked on 1 time from ANY of the nursing staff. It was more important they played patty cake. Not one person checked to see if I was still breathing, needed water, was in pain. NOTHING! If I can prevent being brought back to this facility I will. Absolute disgrace!

2022-04-29My wife delivered our first baby here, and the experience was excellent. All staff members were professional and took obvious pride in their jobs. The OB and Pediatric teams were courteous, professional, and very skilled. I was very impressed with the nursing team; they took care of my wife and son as if they were family. It speaks to the leadership at Temple that such great talent can be retained in this time of great resignation.

2022-04-16Went to Temples ER on 4/12/22. The emergency room was not crowded but still I waited a very long time to be seen. The staff is not friendly, there was a lot talking, snacking & loud laughing amongst the employees. Ran a few test on me & found nothing wrong but sent me home on pain meds. 24 hours later, I feel worse so I decided to visit Jefferson Hospital. Took urine, blood, ultrasound, and a few other tests. Found blood in my urine, had a fever and nausea. Diagnosis was kidney stones & inflamed colon. Thank you so much Jefferson ER staff who was very friendly & took great care of me. I am feeling much much better. Temple University Hospital...you suck & I wouldnt recommend anyone go to your hospitals ER dept

2022-02-12Absolutely horrible I have nothing good to say it’s like everyone that works here has an attitude for having to do their job do not apply to work somewhere if you don’t want to be there and also the patients did NOTHING to you what so ever. They said call if we need them and we are getting no answer along with an answer and quick hang up. We are being ignored my pregnant girlfriend is in so much pain because they did not put the epidural in right they tried 3 times and just gave up after the 3rd time and started ignoring our calls because they know they didn’t do it right. Absolutely unprofessional and just lazy nurses they are just here on the clock to kill time. I wish I checked the reviews before we came here but we will never come back here that’s for sure and this hospital needs to be closed down. UNPROFESSIONAL

2022-06-07We had our daughter at Temple and we could not have been happier with the whole process. Heather the nurse in charge for the delivery took charge and helped make for a smooth delivery process. Thank you Heather and all of the nurses and Drs on the 3rd floor. This was the Wildonger baby that now gets her proper last name as we leave the hospital. Alexandria Carolyn Vetter thanks you as well.

2021-12-17This hospital has poor customer service, they keep you waiting at least 30min sometimes before you get checked in? Another 1hr before you go-to the back and so one. The ot patient laboratory sucks, I never waited an hour to get blood drawn. Im glad Im not a patient here, but I come with my boyfriend and I hate it. T dont know if the receptionist/clerks/front desk employee are inexperienced or they just dont care. The best part about temple is the cafeteria

2022-06-13We recently visited with Dr. Bhuta and we were deeply disappointed and will not be returning. We experienced issues with him giving my mom the wrong feeding tube causing my mom to not be able to feed for NINE HOURS. The feeding tube he gave us doesn’t fit the syringe and we couldn’t connect the feeding tube because it was also a different size from the feeding tube pump bag. We called back and told him the issue and he ask us to come back to the hospital to pick up the adapter to connect it, but the adapter was also too small. It was also very difficult for me to pump my mom’s medication into the tube using the syringe. It was a nightmare! Unfortunately, we will now need to switch to a different hospital for our next visit due to this horrible experience.

2022-03-23The worst hospital I have ever been to. in the OBGYN area they give you medical appointments at one hour to see you up to 1 hour and a half later, then if you are the one who arrives late they cancel you. I had been without care since January and my appointment was canceled until April while I was pregnant, for this reason and for others I decided to change to another hospital, I do not recommend it to anyone who wastes their time here, you call customer service and the people on the phone do not want to either find you an interpreter in Spanish, without a doubt this whole hospital is a complete disaster, I have already had enough bad experiences from the emergency room, the bariatric department and now OBGYN. I tried a lot but I just got tired.

2022-03-10I am visiting this hospital today 3/10/22 out of town with a relative who needed a CT Scan completed. The office staff was very rude and I would never come here for myself for any care. The bad attitudes from these employees are alarming. Not going to kill me!
