The Cove in other cities:
Delicious food and quick lunch service on a weekday. The ambiance was nice and the service attentive. I got the seared ahi tuna wrap with fries and the whole dish was excellent. We will definitely be back for dinner sometime for a date night or dinner with with friends.
When we arrived there looked like there was a front and rear parking lot. The rear lot seemed full so we parked out front. We soon realized that none of the doors along the road were open and we would need to walk a short distance on the road to get to the rear lot to enter that way. This was a little annoying, but since we were first time guests we didnt realize and wouldnt make that mistake twice. We drove to the rear lot and couldnt find a spot. Moral of the story is that parking seems to be an issue. Reservations seem to be the way to go here, the bar was full and we almost were not able to get a table, but lucked out since they had a cancelation for one of their heated outdoor bubbles. I really enjoyed eating in the bubble since it still gave has a glimpse of the really awesome stream and the propane heater kept us plenty warm. The service was a little on the slow side, but I really can understand this because the staff had a large area to cover with all the outdoor bubbles on either side of the stream and they needed to unzip the bubbles every time they entered. btw I think I get extra points every time I use the word bubble? We both started with the cream of crab soup which was excellent. We moved onto the Whiskey Bacon BBQ burger and they Smoked Beef Brisket handheld. The burger was good and cooked the way I requested, but the $17 price tag seemed excessive to me. The Brisket has a nice flavor, but there were some large pieces that were all fat, so at $16 we expected some better quality control. Another plug is that they had Dog Fish Head 60 minute on tap.
Service was amazing, nice place to enjoy someones company, Food was over price, no taste and or flavor. (Steak didnt taste like a steak or seasoning/shrimp no taste and it wasnt grilled like the menu claime) beer was on the warm side and flat (draft) crab soup didnt have crab and it had to much obay seasoning to the point it was obay soup. And like all my reviews this is my personal opinion and you should go and make your own opinion. I usually go twice to a place before a give a review but there was no excuse for the food to taste that bad when they where not busy.... food presentation was great, photo shoot great, but no flavor or taste......
Service was awesome waiter was great, drove in from Edgemere Maryland to try they said it’s best place to eat in York Pa My dad owns a seafood restaurant and I tried the Eastern Shore Burger with crab meat and cream of crab covered. The crabmeat was mixed with fish, was not crabmeat and filler definitely had fish in it. Was not impressed but gave it a shot.
Great food and love the Individual heated bubbles. It was 28° the night we went, Im always cold but it was nice and toasty in the bubble. The server was great and so helpful. Im sure they have a lot more to deal with since Covid but he just seemed happy to be able to be working. The food everyone had was amazing!! We had French dip, salmon chesapeake and the bourbon Ribeye. The menu had so many options, we actually booked another weekend since we enjoyed it so much. I cant wait to go back!
Hidden gem! Cove is a fantastic restaurant with a beautiful setting. We enjoyed sitting outside in a bubble tent listening to the babbling brook. The bartender makes well-balanced cocktails and is the only place outside of Texas to be able to get the Paloma right! The mojito and Moscow Mule are amazing as well. The street tacos are phenomenal! My husband ordered cream of crab soup and raved about it. We brought our son and he was pretty thrilled about the fried mozz, the crab soup, and ordered a burger. Kids are welcome but theres not a separate menu for them. This is a fantastic place for a girls night, guys night, date night, or any occasion. Reservations are recommended.
An EPIC beer and cocktail selection, but the icing on the cake is the superbly prepared and presented food. The grilled salmon was perfection! The cucumber gin/ elderflower martini was refreshing, an expertly prepared treat on a balmy summer evening.Great staff and relaxed ambience. Definitely coming back next time Im in York.
Wonderful service and very cool bubble experience, first time there and dissapointed in my entrée, Cheasapeake chicken for $27, I excepted better than dry overcooked lukewarm chicken breast with very small dap of crabcake, 7 fingerings potatoes plain cold broccoli. Appetizer was pricey $14 for 2 thin cheesesteak eggrolls, couldnt feed 4 people.
Someone had a wonderful idea in there head one day, several years later you have The Cove. I stopped in with a coworker on my night off to check out the place (it had come highly recommended by other coworkers). I decided on Salmon topped with Crab that was complimented with rice to one side of the Salmon and seasoned Broccoli to the other side. I considered licking the plate clean afterwards because I didnt want to waste a drop. Everything had the perfect texture and flavor. The rice was in a circular shape and had a wonderful flavor about it. Even Broccoli, normally a mundane and boring side dish somehow felt superior to any other you have had. Its a little out of the way but very much worth your effort of first finding the place then finding the useable door(in the back, cross the bridge). On a nice day or night this would be the ideal place to take a date. Look at the pictures they provide on here to see what I mean.
Great food! Steak and crab cake, steak and shrimp wrap, cheese steak egg rolls, rum glazed scallops, and more. The best selection in Scotch and whiskey in the area. Oh, did I mention the Whiskey and cigar bar, non-smoking indoor dining and outdoor dining year round? This is a must visit place for food and relaxation therapy.
We enjoy the Cove. Staff is both first-rate and exceptional. The food is good. However, the price per plate is pretty expensive for portion size. There is no kids menu. We paid over $70 for two, maybe 1/3 lb. burgers; mac and cheese; two Miller Lites, and an order of mozzarella sticks (4). It was over $80 with 20% tip.
We love this place and we come here often. The staff is super friendly and attentive. My husband gets Eric award winning chili everytime we are here, it has tons of meat and a little bit of beans. Ive never had a meal that has disappointed me. Infact this time the accomodated my want for both the filet and scallops (surf and turf Veronica style)!!! We also got the phili cheese steak egg rolls, yum!! They have some craft beer on tap even some nitro selection!
Food was good - fish and chips was excellent. Joe the waiter was friendly and attentive. only knock - got kicked out after 90 minutes even though there were many empty tables - seems like that rule, which I assume is COVID restriction related - seems to be applied rigidly and without need at times - at least in this case...So a return visit might not happen due to the questionable treatment on a quiet night....
Food and service was good. They do not have straws for your drinks. Bring your own. Ate in the parking lot in a bubble, clear heated pop ups. Very different cozy way to enjoy a well made entree. Had a fun time. A very different idea to beat eating out during the pandemic. Straws would make it 5 stars. Liked it. Will try inside seating when times are better.
The Cove is FANTASTIC! We went and had supper in a space bubble. I was not sure about the idea but the girlfriend insisted. Not only was the bubble cute and gave a fun atmosphere, but the food and staff were amazing. I chose a beer that was not as good as I had hoped.... but I drank it because I chose it. The waiter came out and asked how it was. When I told him it was not as good as I had hoped he offered to replace it with a fresh full beer of something better. I could not, in good faith, let him do that as I had already drank 3/4 of it, but to offer that kind of customer satisfaction is unheard of in this day and age. The entire experience was outstanding! The food was delicious, the beer was cold and delicious once I picked something more suited for my pallet and the service was well above any expectations I could ever have. We will be back for sure!
The Cove really got creative during Covid and now offers not just dining on their porch, but also have private tents up too. The service is first rate and the food is delicious. The outside dining is in the back, with a nice stream running past, so youre not right on the road like some places. Reservations are encouraged.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere! They are slowly renovating the restaurant and it looks awesome. Nice selection of food, beer and cocktails! They currently have outdoor seating in heated bubbles due to COVID. Each bubble is individually heated and decorated. Job well done!
Restaurant has changed and not for the better. Used to love coming here - The atmosphere was great. However, this was my first time going back since COVID hit and its awful. Not sure if there was a change in ownership or just staff, but the woman who sat us at our table was also our waitress, and she had an attitude the entire time we were there. She sat a larger party of 6 or 7 people beside us and had absolutely no attitude...You dont treat larger parties better than your smaller parties just because you know you wont be getting as big of a tip right away... you never know who youre going to encounter.Shes definitely too young and immature to be working there. My boyfriend got his food - he ordered a $30 steak... it came out and was just as thin as the asparagus that he ordered... in other words, if you want a steak worth the $30... go to Texas Roadhouse, youll get MUCH more for your money...Long story short, this place has gone down hill and will continue to do so if something doesnt change. I never leave bad reviews EVER unless my experience was extremely poor or negative. Like I said, I used to love coming here.** Based on others reviews on facebook, it appears Im not the only one that thinks negatively of this woman hostess/waitress.. it also seems that she may be the one running the restaurants Facebook page - just basing this on the negative comments I have read on others previous discouraging reviews.... if you see this, I hope you take this as constructive criticism and not an insult... either way, commenting negatively on other bad reviews just makes you and the restaurant look bad. 🤷🏼♀️
Sad day for me.. been a patron for a long time. Was so proud to bring friends here from other areas...I walk in and am asked if I have a reservation by a man behind a podium. No sir. I do not. Never in the 8 years living here have I needed a reservation. The wings at this restaurant have been a favorite of mine for years. Honestly, Id choose the cove over other places solely based on the wings and fries. Now we are told they are leaving the menu due to pricing. Meanwhile I am looking over the new menu options and they have listed 37$ scallops....If I want scallops the cove isnt where you will find me. Rockfish will be the option for that type of dining.Need I remind this place that it is a BAR....You are trying to become something you are not. I do not come to the cove for 40$ scallops.... I come for beer wings and bar food after a long day at work.Tonight I watched two girls come in and leave without being acknowledged or served. I also was told to mind my language since there were younger children around.... dont bring your kids to a bar (inside) if you are sensitive to language.I am severely disappointed in the choices made by this BAR and hope they come to their senses..
Food was typical of food in same price range in the area. Wait staff was good. The host/manager was arrogant and asked if we had a reservation when the place was practically empty. Was seated next to restroom.. unnecessary... will not go back.. more pleasant places to eat in York.
Service was amazing. Our waitress was attentive and funny. We sat outside in the new cabanas. That was nice and spread out. The food was ok and wayyyy more expensive that I remember the Cove being. Salmon and crab cake was ok and was $29.99. Surf and turf was ok and was $35. Scallops were ok and were $35.99. nothing outrageous just not used to those prices at The Cove. There were other more moderately priced dishes such as burgers, tacos, sandwiches, etc. We had the short rib poutine as an appetizer and it was $15.99. Again, not awful just more than I am used to pre-pandemic. The french fries are double fried and amazing!!! The drinks were very good. Excellent selection of whiskey and the fresh strawberry margarita is superb as is the mojito.
The service is good, but there has been a drastic change in the menu. There are no longer club sandwiches, so all sandwiches are full of fatty meat. The chicken no longer comes on the salad, which is extra, causing an increase on salads. Tere has been a 2 to 3 dollar increase on entrees. In order to get chicken tenders, the entire basket has to be ordered. The selection of house wine has degraded as well with an increase in price. It is understandable restaurant prices have increased to compensate for losses due to COVID-19, but dont skimp on quality. The Cove has been a favorite because of quality, please dont compromise. People are inclined to pay more if the quality does not change.
Wow! Weve always been a fan of The Cove, but the new additions to their menu are AMAZING!! The bourbon glazed scallops are out of this world. The glaze and mango salsa sets them apart from any scallops Ive ever had anywhere. Hubs had the bourbon infused ribeye and it was delish as well! Highly recommend The Cove!! Great service and always great food. And their bourbon selection is second to none in York County.
Had a perfect birthday dinner last night in a bubble. Food was delicious, drinks were soooo good. Service was very attentive. Everyone was friendly. Highly recommended!I love that while other restaurants are complaining nonstop during Covid the Cove has been proactive and figured out a creative way to provide social distancing and still give a unique and delicious dining experience. I can’t wait to go back!
One look at the menu and you can tell this place has gone thru quite the transformation! From Bubble City to the Whiskey Cigar Bar to perhaps the best bartender (Eric) in all of York County. You gotta stop making those Old Fashions so so good or my wife will want to visit u guys 3-4 times a week...no joke!! And trust me, weve been to every place many times over from Baltimore to Lancaster!!! OH...and the food is delicious... thats a Bonus... keep it up Cove family 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋🥃
I want to give these guys a 5 so bad, but warm beers kills it for me. Love what they are doing and loved the tap they provided temporarily if you ordered it. They do bring it up a notch. Wished they allowed dogs on patio. Good food and nice atmosphere. Glad they got rid of the smoke room. It permeated everything. Overall a great experience. I go here at least once a month with my wife.
We just finished our wonderful Valentine’s Day weekend dinner at The Cove. We were so impressed with the service and the food. I had the crab cakes and they were full of huge pieces of crab and were perfectly cooked. A nice aioli would go nicely with them. The pretzel and crab dip was insane. The pretzel was tender, warm, but had a perfect crispness to the outside. Everything came out hot and fast. My husband had the ribeye steak and it was cooked and seasoned very well. The margaritas were great. The crumb cake was great. Everything was fan-freaking-tastic. Joe our server was great too. We moved here from Indianapolis and I am a well traveled foodie. This has been our best dining experience since moving to York over a year ago. The dining pods were romantic and a lot of fun.
Always a great experience. All of the food is top notch and their whiskey selection is unrivaled for the area. Cigar smokers welcome which is a HUGE plus. Non smoking building is available as well. Not many places like this around anymore.Never stop making those cheese steak egg rolls!
I cant think of anything negative to say about this place. If you get the chance to sit outside along the creek, do it. But dont let that sway you from the indoors if the weather isnt the best as the dining room is still very open and the tables arent right on top of each other. The menu has a little bit for everybody. The bar is fully stocked with a pretty decent beer menu that if you are an American light drinker or a craft beer drinker, youll find something you like. There is often some entertainment happening so keep an eye out for events too!
My son arranged for a New Years Day first year wedding anniversary evening meal for us in one of the bubbles outside. When we arrived at 6:30 pm we were told they were closed because of the rain. They “claimed” they called and left a message on his phone. He NEVER received the message or missed call. To outright LIE to us was unacceptable! They SHOULD HAVE at least offered a coupon or discount on our next visit for their faulty customer service. It’s most unfortunate that he was home on a two week leave from the military and this had been planned for a little while. It was to be a special evening for us as a family before he had to return to base. We had no other choice but to go home. Thanks a lot. You’ve just lost customers. Word of mouth travels fast. Update: response from owner said he called. If that was the case, why would we have driven in the rain to get there. He should have left a message asking for us to return call to verify cancellation. Unsatisfactory and not handled well at all. You can do better and learn from this terrible experience.
Being unfamiliar with the area, my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat, we happened upon the cove and decided it looked like a nice place to eat. Once we walked into the dining area, I was immediately sold. The place was about as full as youd expect on a Saturday night, but after finding our seats, we got a waitress that came and dropped of menus and we got to looking. Not only is the alcohol selection too notch, but the food available was all well thought out and varied. I decided on the Skull and Crossbones burger, after a short wait for a busy restaurant I was very confident in my choice, as who doesnt want the buns of your burger to be two whole grilled cheese sandwiches! It was glorious and I was extremely satisfied with The Cove! Will definitely be returning in the future to see what else they have!
Excellent food and drinks. Our waiter was very prompt, helpful with our drink choices, and attentive. I enjoyed our experience. I had the calamari salad (which was tried calamari, not your typical calamari salad) and my husband had the prime rid quesadillas. We both enjoyed our meals.
Outside appearance can be a little deceiving compared to nice atmosphere inside. Pub favorites up to including some chefs specials..Full bar and multiple beers on tap..We tried various burgers and the crab dip. Very tasty. .Service was in between shifts but when we arrived, but when it kicked in the staff was most attentive..They want you to come back..I will.!
Went to the cigar lounge hidden in the back of the restaurant. Absolutely fell in love with the place. The atmosphere is great (upscale but still warm and friendly), the bourbon and whiskey selection is incredible (they even have a Makers Mark and Knob Creek private stock labeled exclusively for the Cove). The food is fantastic and the cocktails are amazing. This is definitely one to add to your list!
The environment is great here I really enjoyed the live music! I came with a bunch of friends and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was amazing, I especially recommend their cheesesteak egg rolls. The service was pretty good as well, especially considering how busy it was.
Great place. Service is awesome. Whiskey/Cigar bar is a great side trip for good music, a smoke, or a shot. Menu is complete and food tastes great every time. Plenty of parking and a giant, really cool deck over the stream out back. I got a pair of fillets last time. Cheers😃
It was wonderful. Our lady who waited on us was just terrific. Her name was Paige. Ask for when you go. She makes you feel at home. Lovely. Just lovey. We sat on the bridge and had dinner. The Chesapeake salmon and the Chesapeake chicken were great. Dont wait to go, just go.
Excellent service. We come here all the time and the bartenders are funny and efficient. The food selections arent incredibly diet-friendly but always well made and the salads are fresh. Free bingo on Tuesday evenings, and 90s music videos play throughout the week. Very nice place.
Brought the in-laws here for dinner. Great decision! Feels like a hole-in-the-wall or off the beaten path kind of place. The food was great. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The wings were big and meaty, and the burgers were very tasty. Very accommodating for large groups. Fast, friendly service.
Service was good. Chicken Chesapeake was dry with very little sauce. Crab cake on top had no taste. Steam shrimp were very small. Crab dip was good. Drinks were good. Tuna was good. Probable wont eat there again. Bill was over 100 dollars. Sorry didnt feel it was worth it.
I only stopped in for one beer with colleagues from work, but ill definitely be back sometime. They have an awesome selection of beers on tap a cigar room and the most whiskey you can imagine. the atmosphere is great as they have several screens to appeal to all patrons including one playing music videos in between the regular sports screens.
I have been going to the cove for years since i turned 21. Suzie and Erik run a great bar/restaurant. The employees are all very nice and take care of their customers (especially Josh and Drew). The food is always fresh and well prepared (Get the salmon). It is hands down the best bar in York, PA.
We showed up tonight for our reservations which were made 2.5 weeks ago via telephone for the outside bubble. We were then told that whomever took our reservation didnt mark us down and they were unable to accommodate us for a bubble after arguing with us about making the reservation very rudely then owning up to their mistake. They offered to let us eat inside and a free appetizer and drink for our party of 4 for their mistake.. okay that sounded like a good deal and I understand mistakes happen. We werent rude and were very understanding and happy they tried to make things right. While we were eating the owners wife was inside talking bad about the customers. THEN as we got up from the table to leave, one of our men had a mask in his hand about to put it on. The waitress stood in front of him demanding him to put his mask on and wouldnt let him walk forward. He told her he was putting it on and we were leaving. The owners wife then said its people like you that are the reason we even have this covid going on in the first place which was very uncalled for. But the worst part is she was SITTING THERE WITH HER MASK PULLED ALL THE WAY DOWN ON HER CHIN NOT COVERING EVEN HER MOUTH OR NOSE! We asked where her mask was and she said she wasnt around anyone so didnt need one. VERY unprofessional and will not ever be returning or giving a good word due to the unprofessionalism we experienced. VERY DISAPPOINTED THE COVE, ALWAYS SPOKE GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE UNTIL TONIGHT!!!!! Even worse, I am a Healthcare worker for a local facility which cares for covid patients. Very degrading for such a hurtful unnecessary comment.
Quiet little restaurant/bar nestled in Spring Garden Township. Good atmosphere with TVs abound everywhere with a fully stocked bar. Spacious seating and the food is delicious. No, I dont work here or ever have and I dont know anyone who does. Ive been here several times and this place is a guaranteed good place to go with reasonably priced food. Recommend the Pub Fries for starters and this evening I had the Cove Burger made to my specifications. In a word? Dee-lish! Youll want to come back here again!
We traveled 40 minutes from Lancaster to eat there for lunch. The bartender at Outback lives near there and was telling us about it. It was my Bday, my colleague was buying me lunch and I wanted to try the crab bisque. The bisque was amazing!! We both got some to go it was so good. Our lunch was good and they have a great whiskey selection. So why 3 stars? The server/bartender sucked! My buddy turned to me and said, shes a little cold! We were excited to try the place, she made the visit a not so good one. Wont be going back.....
Drinks were good n nice choice of draft beers. But the food was horrible. Our appetizer of a crab bread bowl, creamy crab in center, but was over cooked. Their special Jumbo Crab Cake with white rice golf ball size crab cake with alot of bread crumbs n broccoli, at least that was good. They used to be know for there raw bar n seafood. Not any more Ill stick with The Packock on Market St. York. Excellent seafood!! N steaks, too. Now the couple beside us, we were at the bar, got hamburgers n they looked yummy. Thats my story n Im sticking with it. Enjoy!
Good food with live music. What reasons do you need to have an enjoyable time? Whiskey selection are plenty and cigars at the whiskey bar. Steak and cake is a local favorite. Petite medallion and crab cake was the right portion for my appetite and the crab soup has great flavor.
Good food and great selection of whiskey if youre a whiskey drinker. Be sure and ask the server for a description of your drink prior to ordering though as the drink names dont necessarily coincide with the flavor! We came as a large group and were easily accommodated. Great service.
It was a bit busy this evening. Got the last parking spot in the extra lot. Sat ourselves. Wait staff was on point. Tonights special was steak and cake. Steak being petite filet cooked rare...perfect. the crabcake was delicious. The sides at dinner was mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. We started with cream of crab. Really good soup! Everything was seasoned well. We havent been to the Cove in over 10 years. We will be back.
I want to start by saying they have the best cream of crab soup I have ever had! I ordered the cheese quesadilla, which I wasnt much of a fan of. They should definitely use a different blend of cheese. I think they use only cheddar in inside. Our server was prompt and very friendly. I would definitely go back.
Calamari was on point. Best Ive had in years and Ive worked in some nice restaurants. Not chewy like a boot, it was tender. Oh so tender... Tender like a baby rabbit, drizzled with a balsamic glaze, nestled in a bed of lettuce. The bartenders were great. Only thing that sucked was the Patriots winning the super bowl, they couldnt help that though, or could they???
Great food, good service, and nice atmosphere. Drink prices are very reasonable and their brisket sandwich is the best in the area. Service is usually very prompt and there is a patio/deck area seating out back when the weather is nice. If you have not been here before, I definitely recommend trying it out.
Nice bar with really good food. The bartender was really nice & made sure we had everything we needed. Great place to catch up with family & friends while enjoying a bite to eat, some drinks, & a little music. Also a nice place for couples because it is quiet enough to hear each other talk.
Had a great experience at this restaurant. The food quality was good, the waitress was friendly, and we really loved the relaxing seating outside next to the stream. I highly recommend the jumbo lump crab cakes, which are pure crab meat with virtually no filler. The prime rib with blue cheese quesadilla was also quite good, but only order if youve got a big appetite. Littleneck clams where tasty and fresh too. Enjoy!
First time here and I was not impressed. The food didnt live up to the positive reviews. The crab dip hardly had any crab flavor. All we tasted was cream cheese. If youre looking for better, The best crab dip comes from John Wright restaurant in Wrightsville! Same price and way better tasting. The nachos had old produce piled on top. Didnt taste fresh at all, tasted sour. The onion rings were burnt and nasty. The 2 waitresses did not check on us until we were on our last few bites. Oh how was the food? Well, it sucked, but you wouldnt have known because you never checked on us. Who brings clearly burnt onion rings to a table? Wont be back
Mine was the only car in the lot at 1130 but they wouldnt seat my party of 4 professionals for lunch bc I didnt have a reservation yet they dont answer the phone and they dont read fb messages. All pods were empty. This is not how you stay in business during a pandemic.
Ive really enjoyed this place, the food and beer selection have gotten better but we had a bad experience this past Sunday.Pathetic service. Had to flag down waiter for everything, literally, and like we were a big inconvenience to him. Some of the bartenders and servers have gotten way to comfortable and it reflects in thier service. Was told by female bar tender (with attitude) I shouldnt order beer from the bar if I was at a table, i have a server. I wouldnt have had too but the waiter passed by table several times and didnt even look in our direction. Im fine if you are busy, I get it, but dont ignore me. I have spent a lot of money here over the years and not looking for special service, but was very DISAPPOINTED.I will go back and try again. I do like the place. But three strikes youre out. Plenty of other choices around.
Nice area waitress very friendly . Food was great . Birthday idea needed on the menu or a surprise idea . Even though waitress satisfy us with a cup cake for a birthday friend .Very pleased:). Yes. Music needs to be check before serving (speaker). Other than that nice are.
Came in for an after party following a friends wedding. First of all, they have a great draft list! The whiskey & cigar bar in back is a cool, unexpected bonus. Service was great, too! But none of that compares to the house Mac and Cheese. I dont know what they put in this stuff, but its been a month and Im still thinking about it. Order. The. Mac. And. Cheese.
Awesome whiskey and tequila selection. Their cigar lounge doesnt open until late afternoon so dont go early if youre looking to smoke a cigar. That said, the staff are great and actually let us in anyway after some great conversation about whiskey and tequila! Highly recommend.
The cove is a great place for a couple or go to the other side and you get a great place to go with friends. The one side is smoking so that might not be for everyone but as a smoker I love it. The side with no smoking is nice, it is relaxed but the service and food are great. I wouldnt say it is a great value but the quality is well worth the money.
Looking for a unique place to eat with great service? Look no further. The Cove has delicious options with a cool atmosphere and excellent service. The Cove will not dissapoint whatever your taste or price point may be. I cant figure it why it hasnt been on the Food network yet.
Terrible customer service. Entree arrived after eating my 4th buffalo wing. The waitress apologized that the food arrived so early, but then started to walk away like we were supposed accept her apology. Keep in mind there was just one other table being waited on and 4 patrons at the bar . This didnt sit well with me and ultimately i asked for management. This is when it got really interesting. A woman walks over stating I hear you have a problem. Never introduces herself (later states she is the owner). She stated that bringing appetizers and entrees out together is common lunchtime practice. She explains that people from the hospital down the street only have an hour to eat. Here I am with my wife and 2 children (dressed in shorts and flip flops). Also, she states that since we have 2 small children, that we should be expected to be in a hurry. At no time did our server ask whether we wanted our appetizer served with our entree. As she is berating me for giving her server a difficult time, she states that if I dont like my service I should just leave. Never saying another word, the owner proceeds to gather our food right in front of us. She rips the plate right out in front of my 4 year old who was actively eating. We of course leave and my 4 year old is leaving in tears b/c he wanted to finish his lunch.I have never witnessed such terrible customer service at any establishment. Of course my family will never return to this dwelling. I ask that you use caution as this is the kind of place to spit in your food.
Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly local vibe. Im very partial to the pittsburgh steak salad, chili and salmon. They have a blackened steak and macaroni & cheese dish that is always is delicious. Really like their baked potato with brisket. Place has sports vibe when major games are playing. It can a bit noisy during major sporting events but it wasnt out of control. Nice place to go for a date during off peak hours. Ive always enjoyed sitting on the deck in warmer weather.
I dont even know where to begin. The food is amazing! The staff are attentive, knowledgeable with drinks and fun. Now let me take a moment and talk about the whiskey bar. As a cigar smoker there are not many options for enjoying a good smoke. The Cove has a great cigar smoking area. Comfortable high back leather chairs, Tvs and well one hell of a whiskey collection from Scotland to Japan to the US. This is a must visit place for great food, drinks and fun.
My husband and I enjoy coming to the cove some evenings when were itching to get out of the house and have some night life. An Uber makes it safe, a great menu with reasonably priced beer and outstanding service makes it enjoyable, and kittens knock it out of the park!!
Some craft beer on tap, however, it doesnt rotate fast enough. The food menu recently changed and they removed a lot of good items and raised the price at the same time.Update: Ive lowered the rating by a star for the following reasons. Some of the wait staff are very unprofessional and down right rude at times. Do not bother getting the onion rings. You will be given a tiny plate of four rings and charged $5 which is not the side order of onion rings for $4 listed on the menu. I can only imagine the size of that. Becoming more and more disappointed with this place.
Still in shock.. I sent my dinner back Because it wasnt right, the cook/or manager actually came out of the kitchen and brought my dinner back to me put it in my hand and questioned me, rudely.. I’m 61 years old I’ve gone out a lot of restaurants in my time .. this was an absolute first for me.. I understand a manager asking me about my problem with it and fixing it ..but never ever have I had my meal brought back to me for a challenge.. 🙀🙈 very unprofessional.. we had a voice people, I make sure people hear the bad and the good. Don’t think people aren’t reading all the reviews 💪🏼
The service wasnt very good. It wasnt very busy when we were there and it took the waitress forever to get to us epecially while waiting for the check and my toddlar was getting antsy. I only noticed hightop tables which was not easy for her to sit. I would say this is more of a adult hangout rather then a place to take your family. The food was thr best part. I had their crab cake. A little smaller then expected but it was delicious!
Sport bar atmoshphere, mainly geared toward a younger party crowd. The place is pretty big, crowded and very noisy. Our waitress was great, mixed drinks were a joke. So stick to something simple or even beer, so you dont feel like you got robbed. I had filet & crabcake, the filet was okay at best. Crabcake was very good with no filler. If youre thinking about taking your special lady out for a romantic dinner, find another place. The five in our group (ages 41-65) definately wont be going back again.
I have been here numerous times over the past few years. Have eaten in both the dining room and whiskey(cigar) bar. Lots of tvs in the dining room playing various sports and usually a set playing the music video for whatever song is playing. As an avid cigar enthusiast, I appreciate a local indoor place to enjoy a drink and cigar during the colder months or when out with friends. Also, the whiskey selection is phenomenal!
It is difficult to say what the signature dish should be here. Perhaps the decadent macaroni and cheese topped with perfectly BBQd brisket, or perhaps the sushi-grade seared tuna, or maybe even the magnificent steak and cake (beef steak & picture-perfect crab cake). It is safe to say that no matter you ordered you are sure to enjoy. The food is no joke, but neither are the cocktails. The mix drinks harken back to the days when cocktails were actually built around a heavy handed pour. They are precisely that. Mix drinks not your thing, then check out the beer selection which is vast, well curated, and rotational.
Only place around that serves a full menu until 2am! Huge selection at the bar, which is separate from the restaurant. The bar is a smoking bar as it is also a cigar lounge. Live music every Thrusday and large tvs to keep up with sports. A good place for family, just a get together with friends, or a moment to yourself.
We were looking for a place close to York hospital and found this little gem. We didnt know what to expect because it doesnt look like much more than a bar on the outside. But the quality of the food was so much better than typical bar food. We are glad we stopped in.

2022-04-13Great spot, very nice outdoor views. The menu seemed to be a little high, but it seemed to be worth it with the quality that I had. The beer selection was definitely different with some great choices. The bartender was awesome and knowledgeable which made for a great experience. I ordered the Mac & Cheese with BBQ Brisket on top. It had a great taste with a unique tangy bourbon BBQ. Definitely worth a try, and Ill definitely be back!

2022-03-02Great atmosphere! I love to walk in and feel welcome with a Beautiful smile from the hostess. The food is very good and well prepared. They have the best bartenders in town. If you love whiskey this is the place to go. Best 🍸 Whiskey cocktails in town.

2022-04-02New place to become a favorite. We enjoyed the outside sitting and especially the food. We both decided on the Whiskey Bacon BBQ burger, great choice, just the right amount of everything. We’ll be back.

2021-12-311. Food was great 👍🏼2. Prices were okay (eg. $15 appetizers)3. Customer Service was disappointing 👎🏼* longest part of our dining experience was waiting for a hostess and waiting for the check.** No wonder they have this sign at the table because your dining experience will take that long.

2022-06-30This is a great place to dine outdoors when the weather is warm. The creek-side deck is lovely, with shaded tables and excellent service. Their lunch menu is not huge, but has enough variety to satisfy many different tastes. Its our go-to place for lunch with friends or colleagues. Plenty of easy parking as well.

2021-10-09This restaurant is so gorgeous! We were going to sit outside at one of their three open flame tables but they were all occupied. Ended up sitting inside instead. They have a decent selection of food. We started with a cup of Cream of Crab soup and Cheesesteak Eggrolls. Both were great, especially the eggrolls! We each got a burger, the Whiskey Bacon BBQ and Bahama Mama. Let me just say they were some of the best burgers weve ever had. The ambience both in and outside is very appealing. Staff is very pleasant and our server was everything we could ask for. Not to mention there is a beautiful little stream out back. Definitely will eat here again, if we are ever in the area.

2022-02-15This establishment is absolutely amazing. We sat in the gazebo for valentines day. It was my wife and I my brother and his wife we all loved everything about this place. The food was 10 out of 10 from apps to dessert. I am always a firm believer of you get what you pay for so while the prices may be higher than some others it was ABSOLUTELY worth the money and we got every bit of our moneys worth with the portion amount and overall taste. Our server Ryan aka the silver fox was the BEST I have ever had in my life. Not only was he funny and talkative but very respectful on time extremely attentive and generally cared about us and the success of the restaurant. We will 100 percent be back again and would suggest if you have never been check this place out it is Soo worth it.

2022-01-25The place with the heated bubbles. Inside feels so homey! They have kitchen tables you would have in your house. I loved that! The waitress was super nice and answered all my questions! Even if she had to go check. I got the fish and chips with crab and cheese on top! Paid $4 extra but it was worth it!

2022-05-21Great food, wonderful atmosphere! If you can, sit outside on the patio. Tables with warming fires and the sounds of the stream below are the perfect compliment to what is sure to be a wonderful meal and evening. The staff is friendly and make you feel at home.

2022-04-30Great atmosphere and cuisine. Seafood leaning menu, but also great variety. If cigar bars are your thing, they got you hooked up for that as well. Dont miss this diamond in the rough, when in York, PA.
