The Incredible K9 in Bellefonte
I was just about ready to give up on my dog when I did a search for dog trainers in the Centre county region. The Incredible K9 was unique because Kate had training videos posted. I started watching them and was impressed. I liked that Kate trained in her home and not in a big training facility. She used real life to train and of course her knowledgeable background. She continues to learn and grow as a trainer by attending seminars herself. My dog is a rescue that is insecure and nervous. She is sweet and loving to her family, but if she is unsure of something she wants to attack. Kate has taught us how to help Ebony relax and how to have self control. Now when Kate trains your dog she jumps starts the process, but then she trains the owners. I am obtaining knowledge on how to work with my dog through different relaxation exercises and games we can play that are actually teaching Ebony how to be calm. One of the things I always found frustrating was keeping my dog calm when people came to the house. I was just about to the point of not having anyone visit. Well, its been a month since Ebony had one on one training in which Kate taught about boundaries when guests come over. Today we had visitors and Ebony was calm and polite. A drastic change from the wildness that occurred previously. I highly recommend Kate for her ability to train your dog and listen to your questions with answers that work.
We have a 4 year old mini aussie shepherd who Kate worked with when he was around 2. We have to muzzle him around guests but Kate had him for a week and took the muzzle off of him on day 2. He was great with her and her husband and all the dogs they had that week. We used techniques that she taught him and us along with some other recommendations and he is easier to walk, and listens much better. I cannot say enough good things about Kate. If you have a dog that needs some help, I would definately give Incredible K9 a call!!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kate! We sent Bentley, our mini goldendoodle, to Kate for training when he was about a year old. Bentley is the first dog my husband and I have ever owned so we needed a little help with training. When I picked Bentley up I was so happy with the progress he made! Training is something that you have to continue to work on at home but Kate gave us an amazing foundation to go off of!When we go on vacations I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving Bentley with anyone but Kate!! I can have complete peace leaving him there knowing that he is well loved and taken care of. I also appreciate the picture updates! I can tell Bentley loves his “vacations” at Kate’s because he gets so excited when we arrive. Our family is so thankful we found Kate and would 100% recommend The Incredible K9 for any training or boarding needs.
I met Kate about two years ago and the training she provided not only my dog, Finn, but myself as well changed my life! At the time Finn was a year old Australian Shepherd that had no manners and was full of energy. Despite having an Invisible Fence at my home, I would still have to walk Finn on a leash outside when taking him out to go to the bathroom as otherwise I would have to chase him through my acre plot to get him back inside. I knew that this would not be a long term option as the routine was growing old quickly, so after chatting with someone that told me their story with Kate I looked her up and set up an appointment for Finn to spend two weeks with her. Fast forward to the day I came to pick up Finn. Kate “trained me” first and then we went through the steps with Finn. When she suggested we go to a park nearby with Finn offleash and only his E-collar I quite literally thought she was crazy and that I was going to have to put up adds for a lost dog. She let Finn off leash and he ran quite far- she then gave the command and right back to us he came. I was astounded! To this day I can let Finn run outside and just follow the steps that Kate taught us and it works like a charm. The wonders she worked in those two weeks did not end there. Kate is always available for follow up questions and was quite helpful in integrating the training once you and your pet get home. She does a great job of recommending different products that she uses and provides instructional videos on her website to continue to help with training. Working in the animal health field I come across many pets that are at various stages of “developing manners” and I never hesitate to recommend Kate and The Incredible K9 to my clients. Thanks Kate for making such a positive impact in my life!
Kate is a wonderful dog trainer! She worked with me as I fostered a one year old newfie; her responsiveness to her clients and dedication to her work ensure that the dogs that are lucky enough to meet her have happier and healthier lives because of their time at Incredible K9.
I highly recommend The Incredible K9 to all dog owners! Not only will your dog behave & listen to you, but you will learn how to treat your dog & set boundaries in your own home. We rescued an adult pitbull with multiple behavior issues. I found Kate on the internet & booked our dog for the 5 Day Foundation Program. What a lifesaver! Our dog has been a charmer since going to this program. The most surprising part was everything that we were doing wrong at home!Kate is also always eager to answer any questions that we have had throughout the years. She is very passionate about dog training & is my go to reference, if we have any questions. The Incredible K9 boarding program is a lifesaver for us — we can go on vacation without worry, knowing that our dog is in a safe & structured environment. Thank you again for all that you do!!
Kate Walker is truly incredible with our K9. Weve trained and boarded two dogs with her, and she has a rare talent with and understanding of dogs. Her unique connection to the canine mindset is very intuitive, but it is backed up by extensive knowledge and experience with dogs. She is able to take even a very challenging dog and within a matter of weeks instill structure and good habits. Its remarkable. Kate and her terrific husband, Joe, who is also great with dogs, clearly love and appreciate the dogs in their care. My wife and I trust Kate, and we greatly value the opportunity to know her and Joe and to have our Golden Retriever spend time with her and her well-trained and socialized dogs. I highly recommend Kate Walker and The Incredible K9.
I cannot recommend Kate or the Incredible K9 enough! We have had both of our dogs trained by her and it has been life changing. Both dogs completed the board and train and Bruce, our lab, was off leash trained which is really great to have for hiking or the beach. Bruce also developed aggression issues recently and we were able to send him back to Kate to work one on one with him with great success. Honestly, the best aspect of her training is the education she provides owners on how to deal with and maintain issues and keep the training up- no other trainer I’ve looked up offers “human lessons” as part of the training- which is huge because most behavior issues are owner influenced! Her home is clean, the dogs in her care are well looked after, and once you meet her you can just see how much she loves dogs. These photos are pictures she took of my pups while they were at the board and train. I was super nervous to leave them that far away (we live in DC which is about 3 hours from Kate) the smile on Bruce’s face says it all. Kate knows her stuff and dogs absolutely love her. Best money I’ve ever spent-hands down.
We adopted a pit bull from a shelter and knew he would need some “work”. He’s a sweet dog but is big, strong, and full of energy. It was imperative that we found someone who could help him with his separation anxiety, leash pulling, and bad manners. We took him to Kate for a 3 week board and train. Kate is AMAZING. A miracle worker. We continue to use her for boarding and she’s always available when we’ve come across other minor issues since his initial training a few years ago. She is so knowledgeable and helpful. I can’t recommend her enough!
The Incredible K9 made such a positive change in my dog. We have a sweet, LARGE goldendoodle who was a ball of energy and impossible to manage on walks or if guests came over. Through working with Kate, hes now able to enjoy walks (as are we!) and new guests are welcomed by a calm, collective dog. The fact that she was able to do this with just the 2 weeks of board and train is also incredible! Our dog has also maintained these practices for almost 4 years. We cannot recommend her enough. Its worth every penny to see the positive difference in your dog. Both you and your pup will be better for it!!!
Kate and her lessons have changed our lives. She is by far worth every penny. She has helped us not only understand where my dog is coming from but also many tools and coping mechanisms to help correct it. I’m going to be coming back as soon as I can for the next level of training!
Kate takes the time to explain and demonstrate the training techniques so that you are able to practice at home confidently. She always follows up with a video of the training technique and a hows it going email. I appreciate all that she has taught us and we have one great pup as a result! Highly recommend!
The Incredible K9 has helped us since we brought our puppy home and is still a useful resource four years later!!! I feel as if she helped us set the tone for raising a polite, unassuming dog who we thoroughly enjoy. I have recommended her to many of our friends and they have all been pleased as well!

2020-08-29We used Kate recently to help us get better control of our Border Collie mix Henry. There were several issues (some as a result of OUR behavior) and she was able to train all of us so that we could be more relaxed and understanding of Henrys needs. Henry absolutely loved going to Kates house for his lessons and I think we had just as much fun as he did when we were there. Would highly recommend The Incredible K9! Thanks Kate!

2021-03-22Im so glad that I decided to work with Kate for training my German Shepherd, Lily. We live 90 minutes away and it was totally worth the drive each week! Lily was just a year old when we started working together and she was very fearful and nervous out in the world. Kate created a welcoming space for Lily and she truly loved going to class each week. We walked away with the tools and knowledge to be able to understand Lilys fears and how to support her in overcoming them. Its been a few weeks since weve completed the program and we have noticed huge positive shifts in Lily. Highly recommend!

2021-03-24Kate honestly changed our lives! We adopted Harry, a german shepard/hound rescue in 2019. We were having a lot of issues with separation anxiety and reactivity on the leash. Kate was actually the second trainer we used, and we are so grateful that we found her! She is very knowledgeable, and we really connected with her training philosophy. Even after our training ended, Kate continues to check in and offer suggestions. She is honestly the best dog trainer in Centre County, and we wholeheartedly recommend her training services!

2020-11-22Kate is truly incredible. She is both professional and fun to work with. Shes very knowledgeable and well educated in the field of dog training and you can trust that what she says is grounded in research. Its amazing how her techniques work with our Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Our dog Artie was so thrilled when he knew we were on our way to her house! I would recommend Kate and the Incredible K9 to anyone looking for help training their dog!!

2020-09-17Kate is wonderful and has been a good trainer for our dogs and for our family. I appreciate that she takes the time to explain her process and walks you through each skill, supporting and answering questions as you learn. Kate works to understand the animal and seems to almost work as an interpreter in some ways to improve communication between owner and animal. Our two dogs struggled with meeting new people and dogs, visitors coming to the door, as well as relaxing in new or changing environments. We now are better equipped to help our dogs feel more relaxed in these environments and feel more confident as owners because of Kate’s help.

2021-03-25Kate was AMAZING is all that I can say. She was patient, understanding and very knowledgeable regarding what is he best way to help your dog. The most important thing to remember is that you need to be willing to put the work in with your dog as Kate provides you with the tools. I would not hesitate to recommend Kate to anyone! Thanks Kate!

2019-03-11Kate and the Incredible K9 have been nothing short of amazing. I have worked with Kate on individual training at my home, the board and train program, and extended foundations with my border collie. Kate understands dogs and the intricacies of different breeds; I could not be happier with the results of our work together and my dog’s transformation. My BFF is much more calm, she’s polite, and her recall off-leash is great. I call her, use the bridge, and she comes to me every time. She is now able to hang out on her own in the house and it’s not unusual to find her settling herself down after playing gently with the cats. One important thing to know about Kate is that she really and truly does care for your dog while in training. She helped me to discover a health issue with my dog, which was then corrected, and got her scheduled back in to extended foundations as soon as possible. I will always be thankful for her insight and quick action when she identified a possible problem. Before the Incredible K9, I had used two other trainers. Neither achieved the results that Kate did. I still use her videos from time to time when we work on new concepts, and when my dog hears Kate’s voice, she gets so excited. That’s Ella’s positive vote for Kate and her work!

2020-08-30Kate delivers a professional , organized and effective dog training program! She worked with both my pet and me in techniques and hands on learning in a customized manner and pace that matched my dogs behavior and development. He is a 3 1/2 year old dog that became timid in truck travel, visiting new places and around other dogs after the passing of our other dog. Each week of training, I could witness his progression and my confidence began to build in knowing how to address this 90+ pound dog on a leash in social settings. Long story short --- he traveled several hours to a rented beach home with us this summer, walked around the neighborhood with many other dogs without reacting, and was even comfortable enough to sleep alone on that couch while we went out! Thanks Kate for all your support in helping both MJ and me to learn, adapt and develop into a much more comfortable and confident relationship.

2020-08-28Kate is fabulous! She’s smart, and patient, and kind, and funny. My puppy loved her and responded super well to her training. Her program proceeds in sensible steps that allow dogs —and their owners— to make consistent progress. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend.

2021-08-03Kate has been my single best discovery since I started TBTE training 6 months ago! Even though Im located in Michigan, the help Ive received online has been beyond my greatest expectations! I can ask a question, and the responses I get are so quick, thorough, and well thought out. I love the positive attitude and support, whether Im having a successful day or one thats not so much.. I always walk away feeling better about things, and more confident going forward. My standard poodle was/is much in need of what Kate and the TBTE practice has to offer. Through following the system, hes learning to relax on his own, not be nearly as reactive over things in general, and able to take some things in stride that he couldnt manage before. Meeting up w/ someone on an ATV while we are out for a walk , hes able to greet the people and actually walk away afterwards (and not chase them like theyre a deer!). Its pretty cool, and a lot less stressful on everyone involved. Yay!Im much looking forward to continuing our journey, and having Kates help is making things a lot more enjoyable and easier. :) We will never go back to our old ways of training. (actually Laura Cooper, not Tom)
