First time at this store. I loved it. So many beautiful things to look at, admire, smell and even eat. Need to come back and check it out again. There was one minor flaw I witnessed today that I was not to pleased to see and hear. I assume she was a manager at the ice cream shop, was talking to a female employee who was stand near the counter. Manager was behind counter and maybe about 15 feet apart. Manager reprimanded the employee saying did you do this (names job). Yes. All of it. No. Instead of just standing there, go finish. I feel this could have been handled differently. Not in public amongst the customers and other employees. I feel this was embarrassing to the employee and unprofessional on the managers part.
Love this place! Been coming here since I was a kid with my parents. Many changes over the years but the one thing that hasnt changed is the awesome selection of new and classic items plus incredible customer service. Now we have the pleasure of taking our child here.
I love this shop in the Pocono Region. They have a mix of Home Decore, candy, and jewelry amongst other things. A very unique store.
If youre looking to buy a souvenir, candies, glassware, and collectibles this is definitely a place to check out. Parking is free there are stairs to go up into the store doors and narrow not good for wheelchairs but a very interesting place.
Had the rolled ice cream. It was delicious. Lots of candy sold by the lb. A sweet little visit!

I used to love going to American Candle because they always did the sale on department 56 after Christmas for about a week. Not only do they not even carry as much as they used to but the sale no longer exists either. Very disappointing. Nice place otherwise if youre looking for jewelry or candles.

The customer service I received today was horrible. Went to the front candle store and the woman was vacuuming. We must of interrupted her because she was completely rude and ignorant. She wouldnt let my sister finish her question. The woman at the candy register wasnt any better. I would go again because I like the store but hopefully their manners will improve.
Great variety but COVID has greatly effected some of the candy selection. This used to be the only place to get grapefruit gummy bears but now they dont have them.
Dont skip this if youre in this area of the Pocono Mountains. Give yourself some time to look through the store. Lots to see and find. Fun place!

I love coming here when I’m in the Poconos. They truly have something for everyone. Home goods, clothing, shoes, bags, candy, jewelry, accessories, holiday goods, skincare and of course candles and so much more. It’s the perfect place for souvenirs and gifting. I never leave empty handed. The staff is so incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. The absolute best! Highly recommend this place.
If you are expecting them to make u custom candles find someone else. Been waiting 4 months for that, they don’t call back, and emails response are we are working on it we will get back to u.

This store was really just a huge hallmark type store with some candy barrels and wine in the last section. For us (we had 3 kids on tow) it didnt fit what we were looking for. Expected more souvenirs and kid friendly items. They had nice things but I could find these things at home. Friendly staff though.

Girlfriend loves to go shop around. They also have a loose bulk candy area for the kids . All candy is now individually wrapped .
Love stopping at this store on our way to the Pocono Mountains. They have a great selection of merchandise. The store is very big but well organized. I just love the jewelry section. There is a nice selection of collectables and also clothing. The only problem was the last time we were unable to put the address provided in our navigation system. We visited on July 4th weekend this year but hadnt been there the year before because of the pandemic and kind of got a little confused on how to get there. Other than that I really enjoy stopping here.

We come here the day after Christmas every year for the 50% of Christmas sale. This year we made the trip and everything you want to be on sale is not. We always purchase two to three Snow Village houses but they are not on sale at all this year. Very disappointed. We won’t be making the trip here again.
Decor, wine, candy, chocolate, clothing, jewelry! I could have spent hours in here! Unfortunately my husband was patiently waiting in the car with our dog so I limited my time to buy wine and chocolate. I will definitely return to this place next time Im in the area.

I have been going to American candle for years about 30 years. I will say I am a little saddened that you dont get the deals that you used to get it has become very commercial. But I am going to give it four stars because the place is very clean they have very nice stuff and the staff is very helpful but honestly I wish they would get back to their roots and have real discounted outlet items like they used to also their candle supply has dwindled it used to be a whole wing for candles and now its only a small section in that saddens me.
I always love shopping here. My mom and I used to go once a month or so to buy candy & snacks before she passed and I miss doing that with her. But I love to also shop the gifts and Christmas stuff. There are so many cool things to look at. This trip I knew exactly what I wanted, candles for Christmas gifts. Got exactly what I wanted. Cant wait to go back.

We came back after more than 20 years and it is still great as ever. There are so many different items to shop for. Bags, candles, jewelry and candy and so much more. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. We all found something we loved and I highly recommend you stop by if you are in the area.

I love this place. Their candles are the best. One thing I noticed about the candles I buy there, is, if I let them burn all the way down there is no wax left. When I was purchasing them from elsewhere, there would still be a good amount of wax left. You truly get your money worth.They also have roll ice cream that is so delicious.
Tourist trap...But we still love browsing and shopping here.Staffs friendly, lots and lots of things (besides candles).Rolled ice cream is worth a try (once, twice... ten times) - alcohol can be added.Definitely worth the visit.
American Candle was always a favorite stop for me when in the Poconos, but mind you if you haven’t been in a while the set up is a bit different. They sell Jewelry here and a place that was filled only with candles has that now. The candy part was always fun and it still is. They have made changes to be safe because of CoVid. I wish they’d bring back their different varieties of licorice. All in all this is still worth a visit.
OH MY GOODNESS... I so love American Candle, first off they were clean, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. I was especially impressed with their Pandora collection. Assortment of candy, clothing, nuts, etc... I highly recommend you visit this store. They even have the villages you set up with your Christmas train to make your Christmas decorations even more reality. I love it.
Lovely place i actually spent a lot of money on candles here. Very judging older lady that worked in the clothes area followed us around rudely as if we were going to steal made us very uncomfortable i was going to buy a sweater but decided not to because she made eye contact over 10 times with my son and followed us around. If you are not a middle class older lady with velcro shoes dont waste your time here. Sad judgmental older lady shouldnt be allowed to stalk shoppers. Get a life

They have items ranging anywhere from candles with prizes inside, to jewelry and even candy. I can not neglect to mention the handmade collectibles they have to offer either. They make their own candles and have a huge variety. The prices on them are really good tooThe staff did ask me if I needed help a lot which made me a little uncomfortable, Im assuming it the hair and tattoos since this area really isnt big on it.

Incredibly busy making shopping here hard to enjoy and there seemed to be communication issues among the staff. However, love coming here, and will continue to do so for many more years to come.

Its a store for gifts. Unfortunately, its a lot different than what it originally was. That being said, the gifts you find there are most unusual, which is appreciated.You can find candles throughout the store. Of course, this is The Poconos. But the namesake American Candle candles have been forced into a corner of the last building no longer in the spotlight of the once packed first, original building which used to be ONLY candles.Candy, ice cream, wine, beer, gifts, clothes, jewelry and everything with a first name. Its a treasure.

Took my grandchildren here today. The staff was extremely nice. My grandsons were 9 and 7 and loved the candy and rolled ice cream. It was a nice place to shop for candles and small gifts.

Great place to my surprise America candle is just a name. I brought my wife some pandora charms and a charm for her purse. But the selection of classy clothes, jewelry, and candles was huge. if you are thinking about shopping this is a place you should visit. Go expect to like alot of things, because had to stop a 400.00 easily could have kept going.
This is a spot we love to visit. Browse and I bet you leave w a smile n maybe a few bags. You n the kids can watch candles being made and a very nice n informative worker will explain what is going on inside the candle making room that day. The scents of the candles will entice you to browse a bit longer b4 picking a few favorites. You can purchase many different items besides candles. All ages will enjoy. They take cash, cards, n kids who behave.

Havent been here for MANY years and still a great place to stop in and walk around. We bought a couple things from the different areas of the store. The girl who worked over in the candy section was the nicest young lady.

Extremely disappointed in our recent visit over the weekend. The Shoppe has turned into a clothing boutique with lots of light up pictures very few candles and the candles they do have are cheap wax with very little scent. The old fashioned candy that we purchased with all completely stale and inedible.

Lots of items to choose from, especially for your home. I purchased a well made wind chime to place on my deck and listen to soothing sounds as the wind blows. They also have a wine and craft beer section, scented candles area, and numerous other items to purchase! I will patronize them again on my next visit to the Pocono Mountains.

Holiday decorations, Pandora products, and yes, a huge room chock full of old fashioned candy to choose from. Plenty of free parking available (even on a busy Saturday afternoon). Staff are both friendly and energetic. Found some great discounted bargains! Will return again on our next trip to the Poconos!

Im so mad at this company I love the mayrich black bear items. But I just went to country junction and saw they sell the items I bought a bear lamp that cost me 229.99 at the American candle shop. And I went to country junction and bought a lamp exactly the same ,same company mayrich and same lamp it cost me 149.99I was robbed of 80.00 by American candle shop I will never shop there again come to country junction for there mayrich company goods by far less money out of your pocket

Everytime we come up there we always have to stop in. I always leave with the best candles and my kids always leave with awesome candy. Its such a great place. When we were there recently they had Rollie ice cream now. So we had to get some and its a cool experience to watch them make it and tastes great. There is something for everyone in there. Its like the stores that never end. Around every corner is a new and awesome store.

They hand make candles to your specifications as you watch and also have some very cute farm animals outback. Sometimes the horses will even come over and let you pet them. My daughter insists we go every year and she picks out a candle.
OMG love this place! Its huge! It has so many different holiday items in it, yes, not just candles. Now if your a candy lover, and I am, this place has candy barrels filled with your favorites and you scoop how much you want and pay by the pound. Its awesome! You like ice cream? Yea, they have that too! Everytime I go here, I spend at least two hours in the place and walk out with so much! Bring the family, you will not be disappointed.

Very nice place, lots of cute little knick knacks and handmade candles. Pleasant smell when you first walk in, and the staff are incredibly nice. Theres 3 levels, and on the bottom level, you can watch them make candles. Theres also a little area in the back where they have miniature ponies and pheasants. Lovely place.

This place is gigantic and has everything ranging from jewelry to candy and candles. You can pretty much find anything you need to decorate your home whether it be for the interior or exterior. Prices are very fair and they also have seasonal items such as plenty of cool pieces for Halloween and Christmas. I highly recommend checking them out if you are in the area! You will be amazed by the sheer size and abundance of items in this place!

This store is Amazing! It definitely has candles, including a shop where they make their own candles. They also have fine jewelry and things for the home. Also, you can by all sorts of bulk candy for your sweet tooth. Its definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

Great place to visit if you have nothing else to do in the Poconos. This is your typical tourist trap, cheap mass produced trinkets abound. Like a lot of places today they try to make it feel crafty, but the quality of most of the stuff for sale here seems a little cheap to me. The only thing that keeps me visiting when Im in the area is the candy section of the multi-building complex. Lots and lots of candy, and priced just right to allow us to leave carrying several pounds of sweets for under $20.
Interesting to browse. They have the (apparently famous?) rolled ice cream here. I cant eat it (food allergy), but it was fun to watch them make one for another customer. Big bins of bulk candy, both old-fashioned and current. Tons of gift shop items, mostly home decór but also lots of jewelry, even some clothes. A small selection of local craft beer. Worth the stop, overall.

American Candle never fails to amaze! Weve been going here for years, and have seen it move from candle-centric to a general gift shop. The candles are still there, but have been joined by womens clothing and shoes. We also love the candy in barrels and the local wine offerings. And the Christmas area is loaded with beautiful items. We love stopping here and know well be back.
Big store that meanders through various buildings. Lots to see and be sure to be prepared to buy something because I dont think anyone ever leaves empty handed. They have candles, seasonal decorations for your home, jewelry, collectables, ladies boutique clothing, Vera Bradley collection, an entire room filled with candy in big barrels and many things to catch your eye. A unique shop in the Poconos. Always saw them when I would drive by on the highway headed towards upstate New York, and finally decided to stop in.From the outside it was a little strange looking and I didnt know what to expect, but inside the place is rather huge with a variety of rooms and sections.From soap, womens jewelry, Christmas villages, to candy galore, theres an odd and interesting assortment of stuff here.

Im a black woman, and as I was looking around the front part of the shop near the front door (as they have many individual shopping areas within the store), I was followed by two non black women who shamelessly kept an eye on me as if I were a theif. I placed the items I was going to purchase down on one of the counters, and my best friend and I walked out of their establishment. Wouldnt give them one dime of my hard earned money! Shame on them!!!!

Tha staff here are wonderful. There are so many fantastic collectables here to choose from. More than I can list. They also have an authorized Pandora and Swarovski section in the back. Just so many beautiful things and even candy by the barrel in the back section as well. Great place to go.
This place has evolved so much over the years. Not sure if they even make candles anymore. They sell pretty much everything, some great some not so , but overall a good shopping spot. If you leave here empty handed, I cant imagine why.

My family and I have been coming here close to 20 years, every single time were in PA at our vacation home we stop by. This is by far the best candle shop throughout PA. You will never find more kind and helpful staff as the wonderful folks who run american candle. Prices are very reasonable and they carry a lot of stock all year round. My personal favorite is the bear decor section. Keep it up American candle!! Your doing everything perfect! I cant believe all the negative reviews on this place. You idiots dont realize your giving a business a 1 star rating which ultimately hurts them, over something so irrelevant or just the snobby opinions. Shame on some of you and your ridiculous comments.

Neat store with a ton of interesting items, from candles to decorations and interesting/rare candy. Worth stopping in if youre in the area. Candle section has more options than your typical candle store and had options ranging from woodwick/Yankee candle to some locally made/cheaper products.

Yes it is a candle shop, they sell actually very few candles though. But if you want some awesome gifts or if you like candy this is the place to go. They have a room of candy barrels where you buy by the pound. Everything imaginable here. Their candles are great too.
They get a 3 because they are called a candle store but you have to walk through what seems like miles of knick knacks and other gift items, not to mention the huge bulk candy room, before you find the small candle area which is half filled with things other than candles. If I were rating it as a unique gift shop, it would get a 5. Staff seem suspicious and were obviously watching customers and not as friendly as Id expect in a heavy tourist area.

This was an amazing place. The staff was friendly and I got so much Christmas stuff here, I got most of my gifts and it was quick! There was so much candy I was amazed. Big barrels of candy all over, and it was good too!
All kinds of candles and different themed decorating merchandise. There is an ice cream shop, a huge selection of candy in barrels you can purchase by the pound. Next to the candy there is a jewlery/gift shop with a wide selection, something for everyone. Thats not it, beyond that there is a clothing store. It is worth a vist!
People are friendly and took time to help us. This place has some of everything. Overall a nice shopping experience.

Dont be fooled by the name. There is a lot more to American Candle than meets the eye. Its an eclectic conglomeration of little shops. One spilling into another. Interesting items, art, jewelry but best of all.... barrels of candy sold by the pound. Many things to see. And if your there at the right time, you can watch the candle making process.
Lots of beautiful items - not just candles ... Gift items, some clothing and accessories, wedding favors, figurines, Swarovski, Pandora and other jewelry, candy in bulk, home decor, toys, and yes candles and candle accessories and more - very nice selection. Staff is friendly and helpful.

They advertise the beer they sell, but when me and two others purchased six packs, they were all expired by two or three years. Some of which were seasonal beers that must have been in storage the whole time.

My girlfriend said this used to be an indoor flea market about 15 years ago. Quite an improvement she said. Very clean, but maybe a little expensive for certain things. Lots of great candy from Europe and Russia, and its good!
Wow what a place to shop. If I didnt have to fly with all the things to get them.home, I would have bought a whole lot more. Candles were the largest variety I have seen in one store. But they had so much of everything, I could barely take it in. Quality items and something for everyone.

We go here every year spend a few hundred dollars, but this year some of the ladies there had serious attitude problems, and treated us like we werent welcome, Not sure Ill ever go back, such a shame, we really liked this place
A huge store full of candles and accessories, as well as bulk candy, and so much more (their website details all their products). It was a nice rest stop on the way home to Rochester, New York, and we found some bargains while there. Pretty easy to find off the expressway, and to return to the expressway.
Wonderful to roam through and shop the displays of candles, artwork, decorative pillows, jewelry, clothing and more! Kids will love choosing their favorite candies from the barrels of candy!

Cute ship for trinkets and fashion jewelry like Pandora and Alex and ani. They have this massive bulk candy section which is why I find myself in there mostly. The candle section is great also.
They are under new management. There is an amazing amount of product for you to select from. The major draw back for me is that the floor levels change. With my physical issues it was difficult and painful to navigate especially when the levels changed quickly - if I was looking at product and there was a sudden step down I experienced a jolt of pain and risked falling.
Stunning! To say the least... tgis place just keepa going and going! He coulsnt belive how big this place was when we stopped. The outside is very deceiving. Plan to spend a few hours here! We will be back.

Nice huge place, Plenty of selection, seems to be a tourist trap but we were tourists... My wife said its her favorite store in the world... Only a very small section for candles but a great selection.

Took my mom and kids here this week. We all had a blast!!! This place has an old fashioned candy room with all the candys we grew up with as kids plus more. It was a fun place to take the kids for the day. Close to our hotel and the highway. Cant wait to go back next time we are in pocono. MOM and I got matching Dansko shoes, some candles, and of course candy for the kids. The staff was very helpful as well.
Not just for candles. It has huge selection of decorative items from Yankee Candle to Pandora charms to seasonal collectibles.. A large candy section that has all the classic candies, from candy to homemade chocolatesomething for everyone lots to look at..

Loved this place! Very deceiving; from the outside it looks like a small establishment. It is HUGE & has a little bit of everything. We were in there for about an your or so & left with several bags of assorted gifts & goodies.

Unfortunately because of COVID, many stores were closed or out of business. Like in many places. But most of the opened stores had really great sales ( 40% - 70%)
Very, large and selection of collectibles, candies and candles. Great place to get a gift for someone who is hard to buy for. The staff is always friendly and courteous.

2021-09-18This is now my favorite place to go when visiting the Poconos. Dont let the name fool you, it is more than a candle shop. Think of this as Hallmark heaven. This place is four building linked to each other. If you start in the front you have a section dedicated to Vera Bradley. Then you go into home decorations and the have so many. You have your Christmas theme, Halloween theme, Disney theme, pet themes, nature themes. Then you have the jewelry section and a counter for Pandora jewelry. You then walk into their candy shop which has both American candy and European candy by the barrels. They make rolled ice cream. And finally their candle shop where you can see how they make their candles. Wonderful selections. 👌

2022-01-21I have been coming to this place since I was a kid, and every time I travel to PA I always have to stop in. They have merchandise that you dont see if the big chain places, which I love. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful. I like coming here to buy the local wines from the nearby vineyards.

2022-04-26Visiting the Poconos area for the first time. This was a hit. $3.99 for half a pound of candy and got to choose from the largest assortment of unique candies I’ve seen in a LONG time. So excited to be able to pick candies from other cultures too. So cool!Also loved the assortment of household decor items. Tons of great picks if you’re going for a cabin theme. Will definitely go there again next time we are in town.

2022-04-16So many beautiful things for the house, decorations,candle, candy and now also wine and some 🍺. New to me icecream rolls made in front of you. One cup for $7.Try the nutella with vanilla,wafers pieces and add caramel and coconut flakes with whip cream, very yummy!! They have really beautiful crystal bracelets around $ 68 37,35,20 depends om the crystal and ornament. Lots of things to see.

2022-01-08We got the ice cream rolls and they drew a picture on it before they rolled it up. It tasted great too! Best thing is that they have alcoholic slushies for the adults. They have a lot of candy and some alcohol selections. Lots of things to browse too.

2022-02-03Such a cool place! Nice mix of accesories, jewelry, home goods and decor for me and a giant candy room with ice cream for my kids. Plus we all loved walking through and looking at the variety of stuff they had. Doesnt look like much from the outside, but worth it on the inside!

2022-04-24So a belated birthday getaway with my baby sister turned into a delightful discovery. First of all the customer service is FIRST CLASS, from Kelly whom I had the pleasure to speak over the phone with after booking with a 3rd party. She saw my reservation and was very helpful informing me of what options I had for an upgrade once I arrive to check in. To Barbara who check us in and out always with a smile and kind words She told us the restaurant food was really good, no lies there it was. As was the service, portion servings and attention to details, my water glass was never empty. We had the rack of lamb and the salmon. The breakfast buffet was was more than adequate hitting all the right spots, to many to list. However I would like to say that due to the fact that I dont eat pork, I could not partake in any breakfast meats, just wonder if we could get some turkey or chicken in there along with the pork The grounds are lovely, Lovely views from the balcony Oh!! almost forgot the price of the buffet was fair and you get your money worth in todays market.(inflation and all) I enjoyed the pool and sauna. As we were checking out I noticed that they had started prepping for the opening of their outdoor pool area another plus. No doubt the Hotel is a bit dated however, if your looking to relax, spend time with some love ones or simply woosah please go pay them a visit. The customer service here elevates your experience and Corporate should take heed

2022-02-15Advertises a huge beer selection but couldnt find more than a warm shelf or two at the entrance.Update: Looking back, judging a collection of candle shops by their beer selection is harsh. We enjoy visiting here to browse for other items and the beer (regardless of selection) is a plus, not a shortcoming. The owner reaching out to assist is a customer service point so many other places lack, which is respected & appreciated. Upping the rating & will return.

2022-07-03Edited to add that management acted swiftly to address this matter with a warm sincere message.Stopped in to pick up a quick shirt for a cousin visiting out of town and the first thing we hear when walking in the door is, “we’re closing in 3 minutes.” No, can I help you find what you’re looking for? I understand your store is closing and you want to go home however I have worked in customer service for over ten years and have never turned a customer away. Thanks to this unpleasant experience, I will never come back here.

2022-06-02A wide variety of home decor needs. Plus the ability to have a custom candle made and shipped professionally. My wife and I were looking for a countdown 50th anniversary candle. We explained what we would like and 2 weeks later the beautiful custom candle has arrived at our home. Very pleased
