I came to this location 12/14 around 4:30pm. There was a long line due to there only being 3 customers at a time. The reps were pleasant and quick. I returned 12/15 around 9:15am. Only one person at the register and they were pleasant and patient. Line was out the door but they didnt rush me but were still quick and efficient. I had 3 packages being sent to 3 different locations. Great service! Great experience! With Christmas being so close I was pleasantly surprised.
I arrived at this store to bring a package. A simple dropoff in most people’s minds as the package was already prepared and just needed to be scanned. I arrived 7 minutes before the store was to open and there was a homeless person blocking the entrance with so many items in front of the store. The smell was horrible and to be quite honest it felt a bit unsafe. No employee was present at the store to address the situation, being as they were just about to open. It made it seem like this was a normal and I have never experienced this in my time using this ups store. I could not bear the smell and seeing as no one was going to address the situation in the near future, I had to just resort to using the nearby UPS drop box. I am confused and unsure if this will be addressed and I hope no one is harmed trying to enter the UPS store. Please address this concern for all of us loyal customers.
Absolutely the worst customer service in university city. If campus printing is closed, wait for them to open or find à FedEx somewhere or walk to Seattle if you have to.They lost/stole my package and trying to give me $200 after 2 months of “investigation” for something that worth $3000 (never asked me the value of my stuff). I am so taking them to court.
Sorry to say that I will not be using this UPS store in the future. Customer service was barely a service. I made great effort to get my packages to the store before 3pm on a Friday afternoon and to be informed that the packages wont be going out till Monday afternoon. I asked to use their faxing services and all fax machines were down. No apology or recommendation to try to complete my business. Extremely disappointed!!!
Came in on a Sunday. Was told I have to come back Wednesday to ship something. Store clerk said “Sundays are just for Amazon” and refused to even give me a shipping quote (despite no one being in the store, and the clerk looking out the window the whole time i was there). Please update your store information to make it clear when customers can come in to ship products.
Avoid at all costs. The reviews couldn’t have been spot on, terrible customer service. I walk in at 7:58AM, the doors are open, but the lady tells me I have to stand outside until they open at 8AM. Why unlock the door then, It’s New Year’s Eve and I’m bringing business. 8am rolls around I walk in purchase a box, and I am told I have to pay to have it packaged. Seriously!? The other UPS stores do for free whenever I purchase boxes. So I ask for tape to do it myself, couldn’t justify paying the fee when it takes two seconds and she tells me I have to package outside. At this point she’s starting to give me a slight attitude and aggressive body language. Couldn’t tell if it’s corporates fault, she had a bad morning, or she hates her job, but quit don’t blame me, I’m not forcing you to work there. I blame myself for going there despite reading reviews. I’ll glady drive another few miles to old city UPS, who are fantastic by the way!
Customer service Today was pretty much non existent. (12/09/2020 1:37pm) Guy sitting on the counter on his phone as if he is home, giving side jokes to the cashier. The muslim person (cashier) rushed me with her nonchalant, dismissive attitude. Stop applying for customer service jobs if you do not like servicing people and you lack professional skills because you make yourself look very Foolish. Customers basically pay your bills, treat every one of them respectfully the way you want to be treated, especially when the business you work for ISNT YOURS.
I know the store can be really slow sometimes and with the pandemic it’s been hard to send mail and packages. I had a really great experience with Shelese . I called beforehand and she was able to assist me quickly and with kindness. I will definitely go to this location again! Thank you, Shelia.
Extremely disorganized and unprofessional environment. I used to rent a mailbox at this store. One day I got two package notices, signed for two packages, then left. Three days later I return to find another package notice in my box, but employees cannot find any other package for me. Their employees became very condescending about my wondering whether a package of mine has been lost, and they had no way to track my package. Overall, the employees at this store act as though I should feel privileged to pay 8 to 9 times the post offices rate to rent a box from UPS store, and as though I am bothering them by asking questions as they play with their phones in an empty store and fail to take seriously any customer concerns. I have used several UPS store franchises in several cities, and this one is definitely the worst I have ever seen.
Im only using UPS to host my business mailbox. Im starting an online business and I dont want my home to be my business address so I went in to get a mailbox maybe a few weeks to a month ago. I didnt get her name but a woman who worked there (I think she had pink hair) was very very friendly and helpful. I see a lot of 1 star reviews about the shipping service, I havent shipped anything from UPS so I cant comment on that but as far as the customer service, at least the day I came in, was professional.
I will use this particular UPS Store moving forward. Alex and Justin were both very pleasant to work with, knowledgeable and professional. Alex helped me ship a very important document from one location to the another with speed & precision. UPS is always reliable but this UPS store has the best staff. I am so appreciative!!!
This store is not open on Sundays, regardless of what Google Maps tells you.Service (when the place is open) is about average for a UPS store: employees are underpaid, so they go through the motions and get the job done, no more no less. Want better service? Ask UPS to pay them a living wage.
I wouldn’t even give it a star, if possible. The female lighter tone individual was rude and disrespectful! She seemed angry and irritated that I was in her presence and tried to get things figured out. I wanted a refund after I figured amazon could take care of my services for free. The whole encounter was unfortunate and luckily enough, I kept my cool. People are so miserable nowadays its so sad.
Bad experience, the attendant did not want to ship a High Value package arguing that the store could not sign for it. The UPS form clearly stated that a UPS store can do this. The service and manners of the staff are terrible. I tried for a second time to get something done at the store. UPS needs to seriously train the people in these facilities.
$35 to pack a box. They failed.They were told my package contained delicate electronics. They packed my item in a box 10 times as large with one small piece of bubble wrap. The package arrived smashed up because my item was floating around, completely unsecured.Price just to pack the box: $35. Literally the worst UPS store we have ever used.
Worst UPS store ever. I had purchased a pre-paid label from another store, packed my box and attempted to drop it off at this store but they said the label wouldnt scan and that I had to go back to the original store. Not only were they unhelpful in determining the problem, they were quite rude about it too. They made it a point to tell me that it wasnt their problem that the label wouldnt scan. They refused to print me another label and said if I wanted that I would have to pay for another pre-paid level, which was ridiculous. I ended up taking the package to the original store and it scanned just fine. I will never go back to this UPS store.
Apparently Im spoiled by the excellent service I receive at my local UPS store here in Illinois because my son went to this store to return an item to Amazon. He had never done this before and didnt know what to expect. The clerk told him to just leave the package on the scale and it would be taken care of. Utterly unacceptable. Why would he not scan it immediately and automatically provide my son with a receipt showing shipment had been accepted by the store? When I called the store the clerk had a very careless attitude and said well he could have gotten a receipt if he had wanted one. Then he says the UPS driver was in the store as we were speaking and he was sure it would get scanned eventually. Pathetic, thoughtless customer service.
Dont know (and dont ever want to know) the guys name who worked alone presidents day morning. This child was giving me attitude for everything - spelling my name instead of saying it, saying a name instead of spelling it, asking for price differences of shipping my item.Im just asking you to ship my item, not do laps around a field. You hate your job that much? Then go find another line of work instead of rubbing your poor attitude on everybody.
06/19 update: UPS LOST my PASSPORT and does not take any responsibility for it, nor try to help me AT ALL. It is unacceptable for the delivery person to say that I moved while I still live where I live. Trying to contact them for help was even worse -- it just revealed their carelessness to their customer. Avoid UPS as much as possible.------The people here were very friendly and willing to help. However now everything changed. In the past my package could be picked up right after the tracking says ready for pivkup. Now it takes one more day to pick my packages up there even though tracking says the same thing. All that people there can do is saying “oh maybe it is a system error” or “come back tomorrow” with obvious impatience. Well done UPS.
As one of the biggest logistic company in the world. I think you should find another business, or easier hire a better professional people or even easier provide a better TRAINING for your staff. What is the point of your delivery business module if it’s not working right???Ps: My review is not related to the store it’s related to the company
I dropped off a package here with a return label from Costco. I asked for a receipt and the employee told me that their internet is down and all he can do is to print an off-line receipt for me. Couple days later and I try to look up the package and there is no package under the tracking number I have. I call UPS and they tell me they cannot find the package either.
This UPS Store is AWFUL!!!!! I am beyond irritated at the way the staff try to get you to pay them to pack and ship your boxes. They tell you that they cant guarantee your package because they havent packed it. They dont allow you to pack up your package on the premises. Its a HOT MESS and very very annoying!!! UPS needs to do better with the UPS Stores!
This is the worst UPS store that I ever been to. Unfriendly and nasty staff. They took my overnight package and at 6PM on a 16th and the package should be delivered next day morning. I ship via UPS every week and never had issues with next day delivery. My package didnt arrive until 18th. Upon checking the tracking number, I figured out this shipping location didnt even scan my package until 17th 9PM. They let my overnight package sit over 24hours at their location. I wish if these stupids understand the importance of the service they offer (but not provide) and the feelings of customers that pay a lot for overnight shipping. You are getting your pay check because we choose you as our service provider. And remember UPS is not the only one out there. The more people you treat this way, the less customers you have.
I think itd be hard to find a place less committed to customer service than this UPS location. I came in just after 6:00 to drop off a pre-labeled Next Day Air package. The staff seemed detested to take my package, coldly saying it would go out the following day. Both on the UPS website and signage outside it says the last air pickup is 7:00, but they tell me that the last pickup is about to leave. Regardless of the accuracy of the website, I ask if they could put it on the last pickup, as it was a somewhat time sensitive shipment. Nope is the one word I get.In addition to the specific lack of help in addressing, the lack of courtesy and seeming detest for customers is truly saddening. Its particularly disappointing since Ive found other UPS locations to be quite friendly and helpful. Ill happily travel farther to be treated nicely.
Horrific! Aggressively charged me $18 to repackage a small specially prepared box (a gift) because it contained a coffee mug. (total shipping costs came out to $34) Carelessly cut into the special wrappings, and starting sifting, looking through the wrapped items right in front of me. God knows how theyll throw my contents around! The attendant, Sharicma, exercised attitude, had issues inputting data, and overall, repulsive!!! This store should be shut down, or least cleaned and current employees retrained or thrown out.
Ordered something from Amazon and UPS supposed to deliver yesterday Friday. I was home all day because I didnt want to miss my package. The stupid driver didnt knock the door or ring the bell. I received and email the day saying they missed me, I ran out and I sow the missing paper on my door saying I can go to their store and pick it up today. I walked 2 miles to the drop location at 2900 S 70th st. I scanned my paper and machine told me tracking number unavaiunavailable. I called them right away and they told me my package is still in the trailer so I have to wait 2 business days which is next week. Why would you leave the note saying I can pick it up the next day? Why didnt you update so I can know where is at? Sucks service.
So in case you needed their tape to finalize your package. They call it packaging service. And it s 3 dollars.It s completely abusive, but at least they take the time to make it sound normal.I would recommend going somewhere else since customer experience is not their cup of tea.
Absolutely horrible; avoid this store. The lady told me the cost of an 8 by 8 by 8 inch box was $7, but turns out on the receipt it was only $2, and she charged $3 for a “packaging” fee as well as $2 that she said was included in the packaging. I literally went in just to buy a box (didn’t even ship anything), and I asked her to tape the bottom of the box. When she said it’d be $7, I asked again since I said I wasn’t shipping today. She said the box itself was $7 and couldn’t be lowered. What a lie. Would give 0 stars if possible.
As a new customer looking to bring my business here, I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the level of service. The employee named Queen, who has been pictured in previous reviews (she has the short blonde hair and is light skinned: posted by Fair Critic sitting down) was terribly rude and unprofessional. She was so unwilling to help and cooperate that I was forced to call a service line number to ask a question. Please do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
I stop by this store a few times a week to print a couple things. It was a little annoying that now we have to use a card to get on the computer but other than that the staff are very friendly and helpful. I have never experienced any type of attitude or unwillingness to help and it seems that they are that way with all customers when im in there printing stuff. All of the negative reviews dont really portray a true image of what the store is like.
This is absolutely the worst UPS Store I have ever done business with. I came in needing notarized documents that had to be sent out and received by 10:30 AM next business day. The notary checked my ID, stamped, no problem. Then when printing the shipping label, the same guy who just checked my ID (yes, the notary!) copied down the recipient information incorrectly from the label I handed to him and THEN wrote down my name incorrectly (Joseph vs James) as the shipper. When I noticed this on my receipt, I called the store not 10 minutes later and they said the package had already shipped out for the day and that no amendments could be made. These people clearly dont care about what they do. I would avoid them at all costs!
Absolute trash service. Showed up at 5:00 to drop off a prepaid package. Online says it closes at 7, but they have changed to close at 5 but without notice. Even after telling them that all I need to do was drop off my package they wouldn’t take it and locked the door in my face. They were extremely rude
I normally dont write reviews for non-restaurants, but Im honestly shocked to see so many bad reviews for this store and figured I should throw my own two cents in. I work at a nearby hospital and have come here for a number of reasons over the past year, including mailing fragile packages and getting forms notarized. Everyone has been SUPER helpful on very occasion, including providing me with helpful extra information and small courtesies free of charge. Justin in particular, the employee with whom I worked with today to get some complicated forms notarized, was very helpful. If you live or work in University City, its worth giving this place a chance!
I was a little scared to go in here after seeing the reviews, but it made the most geographic sense so I gave it a shot. Andrew acknowledged me as soon as I came in the door, the transaction was friendly and quick. Package arrived when he said they would. I will not hesitate to send another package from this location.
I went to drop off a package and I needed some tape across the top. I asked the dude if he had tape, expecting him to just put some across the top, plain and simple. No, he pointed to the wall and said there. First, that was rude and second I wasnt buying a 5 dollar roll of tape when all I needed was a strip. He went to the back and came out asking if I was ready and I brought the box to him, asked him if he could put some tape across the top and he half-assed and reluctantly put some on. I dont see what the problem was. He handed me my receipt and didnt say anything. Rude and not willing to help. Definitely not going again.
The WORST they are the slowest people I know. They are so busy laughing and giggling with each other that they dont even notice their customers. The lady was so busy flirting with her co worker to see that I was sitting there trying to get my stuff printed. They ended up switching jobs n even still he was so into his damn coffee n making googlie eyes with the lady with the bad wig. It reminds ok them 25 minutes n I just took my stuff n left
Pleasant staff but not sure how quickly they process everything. Ive had things expressed shipped here and I get notifications from amazon that my packages have arrived but the staff at the UPS store say they dont have it for another day or two after it should have been there.
Went here to print a UPS label and they couldnt even do that. The manager said that their internet and printers have been down for several days and that it was out of their control. Filed a formal complaint with UPS Franchise Corporate and they said they get alot of compaints about store 2473. BUYER BEWARE and AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN!!
I got to the store 10 minutes before close. I was 5 feet from the door when the employee looked at me, and then locked the door in my face. I pointed the phone with the time to him through the glass, and he just shrugged. That’s not just bad customer service, it’s flat out rude.
The ups store on 37th and spruce will not sign any document as a witness because apparently that is different to a notary. even if the instructions specifically state an authorized person to witness and sign statatury declations. The staff here are not friendly or helpful in any way an are not an yo recommend an alternative either. Every time Im in this store, I am dissapointed with the outcome.
Very racist man. Laughed and mocked my African stepdad who has a very strong accent, instead of helping him out. Will never return here. I was very saddened by this type of occurrence. Would never guess that in a million years UPS would have a bigot as an employee. Did not even wait until we left the store to mock him, and laugh at him with his fellow employees.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! This store is the most incompetent group of individuals I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Unless you want your package delivered to the wrong address and you want to spend 8hrs of your time, over 20+ phone calls, and waiting nearly 12 weeks to receive your package then AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE ITS THE EPICENTER OF AN EBOLA OUTBREAK. They told me they would call me back over 10 times, and called me back only 1 of those times. They are the worst possible option possible when it comes to shipping your package. If you use them after reading this review then you will have nobody to blame for the horrid unraveling of your life except yourself. AVOID.
The worst! !! They were slow, not because they were busy, but because they either didnt know where something was or talking it up. I needed my fingerprints done, I was in the store before 6 but because I was in line so long when I get to the register she says its over at 6 . I said I was her before six and the website says 7pm. She days it actually says 4....She was horrible and so was the service.
Unbelievable staff! Not familiar with the services and explain properly! I said specifically I want my parcel to be delivered on Monday but was not delivered till Wednesday!! I finally found out the staff opt me into a service that doesn’t guarantee Monday delivery! Why don’t you explain in the first place? Extremely disappointed at the service
I called this location this morning to ask about the notary service. Whomever answered the phone said hold please, did not wait for a response and put me on hold. I waited on hold for 2-3 minutes and hung up. About ten minutes later, I called again, got the voicemail, but the message asked me to put in a code to get messages. I tried 2 more times over the next hour and got the same message response, so I could not leave a message.I picked my husband up from work at 2:25pm to use his lunch break as the time to get our documents notarized. After we waited in line in this UPS location , we were told that the notary left at 2pm. I mentioned my phone cal being placed on hold earlier in the day and was told they were very busy.Post your notary hours and answer your phone!!!
I come to this location often and the staff is nothing short of amazing. I actually couldn’t believe the reviews they had. I’m fairly new to the area and I don’t know how the staff was before but I can say the staff there now are great people. They get 5 stars from me!
Incompetence doesnt even begin to describe my experiences here. Im a local artist and I regularly ship out paintings. EVERY single time Ive called for an estimate on shipping its then been 20-50% higher than what I was initially quoted. Their staff is barely apologetic for their mistakes and take no responsibility for it.
After seeing the reviews I was skeptical about coming into this location. I have no idea why this place has such poor reviews but the two ladies that helped me were wonderful. I had no idea what I was doing and they both we very helpful and kind. Great customer service ladies thanks again.
Specify that in this place there are 2 work shifts, one of these are friendly and try to help, the other is lousy, the latter is the one to whom my reference goes.To start with a slight comparison:I prefer to be attended by a robot, than this man who treats me worse every time I go than if I were attended by a Machine, the description below:1. He gave me only 2 options and in very bad ways NETX DAY AIR before the end of the Day and GRUOND before the end of the Day (5 or 7 DAYS) and in a rather coerced tone he specified that DELIVERY WAS NOT GUARANTEED THAT DAY, before going I looked at the website and there are all these options:NETX DAY AIR before 02:00 PM 01/04 (1 day) $ 254.01NETX DAY AIR before the end of the Day 01/04 (1 day) $ 220.49In 2 DAYS before the end of the Day 01/05 (3 days) $ 140.51In 3 DAYS before the end of the Day 01/06 (4 days) $ 96.10GRUOND before the end of the Day 01/07 (5 days) $ 39.84The treatment of this man is always sour, dry, without making the slightest attempt to generate some kind of empathy with the client. It is supposed to be a PRIVATE company, he is supposed to serve the customer well and explain the options. If he is not comfortable working in that place, then the best thing he can do for the company is to go to another job, other than dealing with clients. This generates a bad reputation for this UPS branch and also for the rest of the workers who are there, who are not to blame for the bad behavior of this man.

2022-04-12In the last two weeks Ive come to this store for work and personal needs ranging from simply ship a package to attempting to purchase bubble wrap. Every time Ive come the employees are rude and/or they are unable to complete simple tasks that a UPS store should be able to handle. Today the employee told me that I arrived at the store too late (it was 6:40) for him to create a shipping label and that he could not take my package because they couldnt be responsible for the package and that the pick up already happened. Counterintuitively he said that if I had my label already then he could take the package. Make it make sense please.

2022-07-23Michael was incredibly helpful. Did we talk about our kids, hopes and dreams? No. Was it like being welcomed at a small town post office? No. But was it as bad as the reviews would you lead to believe? Not at all. Come early, come with what you need done ready, and youll be in and out in minutes.

2022-05-12Terrible experience please go to any other ups store and if you have to go to this one please don’t go to the light skin guy with the beard. He acts like he hates his job I shipped 6 pairs of sneakers and he mixed all of my labels up and two of my packages got lost I feel like he stole them they were both a size 13 and that’s a lil weird my size 13’s came up missing out of all the other sneakers. Don’t go here.

2022-04-18Seriously under staffed, no since of urgency. Staff that is working moves at the pace of snail riding on the back of a turtle. Hope I never have to use this location again. Wait 45 minutes or better just to be helped. Staff ignored in coming calls. Very unprofessional in representing UPS as a company.

2022-07-06I would not recommend this store except if there’s literally no other options. I went to send a package and they didn’t even have the basic packaging supplies for economy shipping and tried to direct me to a wildly more expensive option

2022-02-07Worst Service Attitude.Black guy with a pair of glasses there simply hopes everyone bringing their package with labelled. He will show tantrum when you bring your package without label. He is too lazy to label the package by himself, even its a part of his job. I will never come to there again.

2021-12-16Im not usually one to do this. In fact, this is the first written review Ive ever done on any online platform. I dropped a rental item off to be sent back to the provider with a prepaid shipping label. I paid for packaging at the store, which was fine, and was assured I was all set to go. A couple days later I received a notification from the rental provider Id be charged a non-insignificant fee for a rental extension because they never were able to confirm (i.e. pre-paid package slip was scanned and confirmed on the way back) that I shipped the item back to them. Will not be going to this store in the future.

2021-03-23Excellent customer service and advice that was realistic regarding packing/pricing. Shipping turned out to be cheaper than I thought it’d be. The agent helped to pack the boxes better than I would’ve. Light skin guy with reddish hair (sorry I didn’t get your name), please recognize him for his service today ! Keep up the good work :-)
