Tower Health Urgent Care - Gilbertsville in other cities:
I went to Gilbertsville Tower Urgent Care for a Covid test @ 8:45 Monday morning, 11/22 to find 9 people already in line waiting for the doors to open, some apparently seeking medical treatment. That was ok.I stayed in line for 1/2 hour in the chilly dampness and at 9:15, the door was still locked. Several others had joined the line. I left, electing to go to another local facility offering testing. On my way past the Gville shopping center following my test in town, out of curiosity, I checked to see if they were open. Doors still locked @ 10:30 AM with several people milling near the entrance (some requiring care) in confusion and peering through the door. No response by calling either. Now, for me this only amounted to wasted time, 2 hours of missed work and some annoyance. I felt sorry for those people who actually required medical treatment.I realize that staffing shortages are an issue today and Tower is having financial difficulties, however, if a facility is closed, please have the courtesy to post it on the door. Maybe even consider a phone message indicating a closure and listing it on the website and whether temporary or permanent. The comunnity becomes accustomed to facility like this and learns to depend on it. Have consideration.Thank You, Joe
Very clean facility. All the personnel there were caring. Did not need to wait at all for any part of the visit from check in to seeing a nurse to get additional info from me and then to seeing a nurse practitioner(not sure of her exact credentials) to make a recommendation for follow up diagnosis. I will use the facility again. I would have preferred to see my family doctor but the two week waiting time for an appointment was totally unreasonable.
After going to another local urgent care close to me, in the past, with a very negative outcome, with the interaction of staff and treatment, I went to Tower Health Urgent Care in Gilbertsville for the first on a Sunday evening just prior to them closing with a what ended up being a fracture to my foot. I can only rave about the care and treatment I received from to the point of entering the building to leaving the building. I never felt rushed given that they were closing soon and all of the staff were very personable. I hope I never have to visit again but if the need arises I will definitely be retuning and will give nothing but good reviews to others who may ask!!! Thank you all for the care I received!
Nurses and doctor care more about their phones than the patients. They seemed annoyed by me being there.Other than a 48hr covid test, doctor barely looked twice at me because symptoms overlapped covid symptoms.Only positive thing was that the facility was well kept and clean minus some broken hand sanitizer machines.Unfortunately would rather drive the 15 extra mins to the next urgent care than go back here.edit; covid test negative, but they still wont treat what i have because i havent been sick long enough they say ( its been 4 days)
I had to go here today to get tested for Covid. The wait was long, but in no way shape or form is that the fault of Tower Health or the people working here. The ladies who I spoke to on the phone were very friendly and helpful. The provider I saw who tested me was the same. The people who work here risk their health daily to make sure others can stay healthy. I personally think they are all doing a wonderful job.
I have visited here twice for treatment. First time was with Covid-19 and 2nd time with bronchitis. They are very comforting and professional. At this location they made me feel very informed and made sure I fully understood the treatment plan. My medications were promptly sent to my pharmacist and there was no delay in waiting for a meds to be sent like Ive experienced with other providers.
Staff was friendly and nice, but they collected a COVID test sample and then lost it. I had to sit around for 4 days to not get results. When I tried calling them, they did not answer the call, I had to call a main office in Reading in order to find out what happened.
I visited this location for Covid testing on a crazy busy Friday night in December. Everyone I dealt with was fantastic, from Jenn on the phone, to the PA, Michelle, and all the nurses. The facility was spotless and well sanitized. The wait in the car was long, but was expected when theres only one testing facility in the area! These Healthcare professionals dont get enough credit!
Cant give it any stars bc they turned me away. The waiting room was completely empty. It was only 6:30pm and they turned me away because they said they were at full capacity but I could go back to another day. I thought urgent means now not tomorrow or drive to the next facility. Ive been to patient first where theres 15 people in the waiting room and theyll still see you.
Amazing from start to finish. My son was not feeling any better after a few days on antibiotics so they switched him to a liquid I called Sunday morning to get them to switch spoke directly to PA which was so nice and even called me back after speaking to the pharmacy bc they didnt have that particular med in stock and made sure I was okay with switching to a different med then we discussed. I cant say enough how wonderful they all were!! Mind you I am self pay so going anywhere else would have cost me more. Thanks for all your kindness..
Absolutely horrible experience. I had to go get tested for covid. I was given instructions by the scheduler to be able to walk right in when I arrived. No. That was not the case at all. The doors were locked. There was papers on the doors. A security officer approached myself and my son and told me that I had to call the phone number. I call tell them who I am and they ask me questions put me on hold and I get disconnected. I call back and start all over again. At no point did they ask me my occupation. But in fact I am a health care worker. Once my room was ready I was told to head to the entrance, was not told I needed to provide my i.d. care but I did take it just in case. We were let in and immediately instructed to sanitize our hands. Next step was to wait at the door entrance to the hallway for an exam room for about 30 seconds, we were escorted by a very rude woman that questioned why my son was with me. I am a single mom and dont have a choice. I told her he was tested the day before and was negative but she got an attitude with me about the situation. While waiting for the dr, we could hear her out in the hallway being very very loud talking about irrelevant topics. This was my first experience with tower health urgent care and I will not be going back! I will stick to penn state health st joes hershey urgent care in strausstown where I am treated with respect compassion and friendly staff.
Very small waiting/check in area. Funny that she mentioned HIPPA privacy rule, bc it’s a clear violation as everyone can hear your reason for check in and personal info as you are questioned directly in front of the entire waiting area. Also the last page of my daughter’s discharge papers belonged to another patient with all of their personal information.
It is a rainy day and my elderly mother who walks with a quad cane has to be seen for a routine Covid test. She has no symptoms. The young woman screamed at us to get back into the car at 8:58 am. We were not allowed to remain outside under cover until called inside. She was extremely rude and should consider a different occupation. If she was my employee, I’d fire her!!
Took my son there for what seemed to be hives. We were written a prescription and I had to pick it up at the CVS that same day. Went to the CVS and was told my prescription is NOT in the system. I had a crying toddler in my arms with an itchy rash. Called Tower Health Urgent Care to find out what was going on and why is my prescription not showing up on the system. Was told they were going to send it through now. Which means they forgot to send it through? Went home with my crying toddler, left him with my husband and went back to the CVS an hour later, but was told AGAIN that they are not seeing my prescription in the system. Called TOWER HEALTH URGENT CARE AGAIN… I was told someone from the Urgent care was going to call the pharmacist. Waited and waited, no one called. Went home to tend to my child. Received a text that my prescription was ready. Got to the CVS… NOTHING !!!! Urgent care finally called and spoke to the pharmacist, only them did the prescription come through. Very very frustrating day! Urgent care very very unprofessional with no sense of urgency for my toddler who was in pain. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. You’re better off just going to Urgent Care KING OF PRUSSIA.

2021-12-23Staff are all incredibly nice and supportive, and I cant stress that enough! My issue was the wait time - took me 90 minutes to go in for a COVID test, which youre not allowed to make in appointment for. I sat in my car for 90 minutes until I got the call to come back to a room, and was told we cant really say how long when Id ask for updates. Kind of takes the urgent out of urgent care.

2022-03-30I recently went there to get tested for the flu. It was my first time there. The entire staff was professional, friendly and competent. I waited less than five minutes to be seen by the nurse. Geneivieve, the PA, was so thorough in asking me questions and very compassionate. I would go back there again and refer family and friends to do the same. Thank you to all the staff.

2022-07-09Overall wonderful experience when I visited this Urgent Care! Front staff was very welcoming and professional and the care I received from the Physician Assistant was off the charts! The medicines prescribed had me feeling on the mend by the next morning…. Highly recommend!

2022-06-08There are seriously Amazing at this location always clean, fast and very friendly! Also I have to say I needed a very specific Covid test done and had very short notice about so that I was able to be with my mother whom just underwent a neuro surgery , and this is the only place in a 20 mile area I could find to do it and no apt! So they were a blessing, and this is my go to urgent care everytime 🙌

2022-01-07My daughter went in with severe COVID symptoms an hour before closing but they turned her away saying they had already seen the maximum number of patients they were allowed to see that day. Needless to say, my family won’t go there again.

2021-12-22I went there today to get an official Covid test with my kids and my husband and the lady in the front refused to do it because I told her that we already did a test a few days ago at home and it came back positive. She told me it’s just like the pregnancy test it’s either a negative or a positive and that I need to go home and quarantine! Mind you we need an actual test that’s official for school and for work and she literally refused to do it and turn us away. I’ve been trying to call to speak to a manager since we got back and their phone lines have been busy. I repeatedly told her that everyone knows the test at home is not 100% accurate and we need to do the one that will come back in a couple of days, but she kept repeating herself telling me that all the tests are exactly the same. I will never go to this place again! I’ve never heard anyone getting refused the Covid test because they tested at home. Maybe she needs to go back to school and educate herself! The PCR test and the HomeKit test is not the same!!

2022-01-18Call to see how long of a wait it was to be seen. It was 5 minutes after 4:00 I was told they closed at 5:00 but if we get there by 4:30 we should be able to be seen.I specifically went the opposite direction of another urgent care because I was told there was no wait here. When we went in my sick 86-year-old mother was told oh we dont have a doctor they must have thought you meant you were coming for something else theres no doctor at this site at all the people who answer the phone should let patients know immediately that theres no physician on staff.Thats the epitome of unprofessionalism

2021-09-24My experience was fine. I went for a COVID test and was in and out very quickly. My concern is the antivax sentiment among one of the staff members. The staff member, John, was very loud and proud about not being vaccinated. He would pull his mask down when closely speaking with other employees and he was adamant about not getting tested weekly after November when it will be required by the state. This type of employee does not instill confidence when seeking medical care.

2021-12-28Went in for a Covid test, called prior to see if appointments were needed (they aren’t) but you do wait, the women on the phone said 45mins no biggie understood there is wait time for all of this now. When I called I actually was able to go right in and was in and out in 10mins. Very friendly and kind
