If you have a chance to find another location, I would strongly recommend you to! The good thing about this apartment is that it has great location and it is convenient. However, the staff here does not do their job. The utility, especially the electricity is way too expensive!!! I paid for almost $300 for electricity in winter while most of the time, my and my roommate are not at home. We only come back home at night time and we do not turn heat on for most of the time. They charged ridiculously high for the move out fee. Even so, I have not received my deposit after 2 months I moved out and I have to keep coming back and forth to negotiate with them and ask the staff to give me an amount of how much I am supposed to get back. Their staff never did their job. Do not choose here. There are many options with good location in this area.
I lived here for two years and loved the apartment complex. If there was ever a problem, the staff worked hard to fix it as quickly as possible. Kyree, the assistant community manager, has really turned the management around. He was always friendly and ready to help with any problem. He even started posting notices on our doors when we had packages so that wed know when to go down to the office to pick them up. Really just a great place to rent an apartment.
I lived there until the end of 2019, and the property manager was the worst I have ever seen. The building and apartments (mine was 10th floor) are full of mice and rats, as well as giant cockroaches. Whatever you ask the maintenance to fix the answer is thats impossible. I am so glad that moved out from there.
We stayed here at Vista apartment homes Philadelphia at City Avenue for a brief period of 8 months. We loved our home at Vistas.Location of these apts are excellent with great Septa connectivity, bus stop was right besides the apartment complex. Ours was a 1 B1B but apartment looks very spacious that’s because of the windows and balcony which was a big plus for us and it had a beautiful city view.Storage space is less but you can rent out one for mere 10$/month.Leasing staff is extremely warm and courteous special mention for Kyrie. He was extremely helpful and nice. He also accommodated our request to post our mails on our new address even after we left.Maintenance team is good. Bruce was very helpful and always had a smile on his face. Very responsive team.We were taken aback from the negative reviews about this beautiful complex but we were glad we decided to stay here and our stay was nothing but extremely nice.I decided to post a review in detail so that it helps and people don’t miss on this beautiful apartments.
The new management at this building is very professional and helpful. They always have a very good attitude when you walk into their office and are always willing to help in whatever you need. Im a current resident and I totally recommend living here. Jeff, the assistant manager is extremely professional. He definitely has managerial skills. Keep the good work!
I, as a 23 year old, legitimately asked them if they consider them giving me a break on myLease since my father had suddenly passed away (not mentioning all the terrible qualities included in this place which would require a separate review). I went to them and asked them what my options were and they said the contract is iron clad and it includes “death waivers.” Should let you know all you need to know about the place. PS I guarantee they will claim I am “not part of the community” or they “don’t have records” of me there. I was there in 2016 and my main “contact” was Suzanne Vogelsong
I have many issues with Vista apartments but I must put those aside to commend Bruce in the maintenance department. He is always working so diligently, and makes 100% certain, all my requests are completed. He has come back to fix my shower a few times in a week, which speaks to the commitment he has to getting the job done. Thank you Bruce, I appreciate you.
The gentleman working in the leasing office, Kyrie, is by far the best person I have ever dealt with in terms of landlords. He is always very professional and prompt in answering any lingering questions I leave on the voicemail. If my apartment has maintenance issues, he makes sure they are addressed and in fact asks to make sure the said job was handled appropriately. Its people like him, through hard work, that could quickly escalate the corporate ladder. I hope the higher ups take notice of this message. He is truly the best.
Absolutely terrible. Im going to write this review in bulleted form so its easy to follow instead of a massive paragraph-Moved in July 2013, lived in Vista for two years-First year was fantastic with Carmen as manager and Dorisa as leasing agent. Repairs were done efficiently, building was in good quality, there was a night guy, Tony, who took packages, handled alarms at night, etc.-I stayed on for a second year since I loved the place. RIGHT AFTER THAT, Carmen and Dorisa left and new management came in. HORRIBLE!!!!-There have been countless staff changes since. The latest woman, Suzanne, literally said to me once when the service was terrible and I complained, I could be sleeping right now. I dont have to be here in this building. And that was because I was asking for my pending repair of over a month to please be fixed.-They fired Tony the day of and said that they were getting a real security service. Tony was there every night from 6pm to 2am and handled everything. The new security is a woman who sits on her phone and doesnt get up only on Fridays from 6-10pm. Thats it.-Repairs are never done on time-The office is often empty during office hours and nobody is there to help-I got charged hundreds of dollars off of my security deposit for nothing, even though there were no repairs and currently, I am on hold on the phone with them because it has been 33 days since I moved out and I have received no charge sheet, no info AND NO DEPOSIT. I had to call them and figure this all out on my own-You cant get packages after 6pm so forget about trying to get your shipments after work.Truly a terrible building. Poor quality. Dont live here. Ill update if my refund is different from what they said or later than the 40 days its about to be.
I have been stranded in the elevator over 6 times. The help button on the elevator doesn’t work. I literally have to take the steps each time I need to leave or enter the building. I recently spoke to another tenant who uses a walking aid- she told me she was stranded at one point for 30 minutes!!!!In addition, your delivered package isn’t safe. The staff leaves your package in an unlocked room during business hours so anyone can pick up any box they please. If your items get missing, the building isn’t responsible for it. Years ago, there was a security guard who made sure the proper tenant got their package and signed for it during off work hours. These days, the only way you can access your delivered package from the aforementioned room (provided it hasn’t been stolen already) is by waiting until the leasing office opens for business. This is such a hassle for working professionals who keep a 9-5.Finally, when you raise a concern instead of being proactive by reaching out to you, the team sends you a number to call. If that’s not the worst model for customer service then I don’t know what is. If you see entirely serious about the well-being and general concerns of your tenants, call them and rectify the issue! The issue here is an indication of how poorly run the property company is. This post doesn’t reflect the workers who have little say in how things work. In all honestly, Kyree, Bruce, and Clev have oftentimes gone above and beyond for me but this doesn’t address the polices in how packages are held or the broken elevator...or the smell of weed on my floor each weekend (but that’s a story for another day)Great location, good view of the city. Poor operation for the price you pay.
I moved to Vista Apartment Homes after 35 years in New York City and could not be more delighted. My experience with the building staff has been fantastic. Tabitha, Community Manager demonstrates a high level of competence and professionalism and is an absolute delight to work with. Tabitha is always energetic, friendly and up-beat in her responsiveness and is always there to offer timely solutions to any problems or issues, in good humor and cheer. Her right hand man, Assistant Community Manager Kyree, was my first point of contact with the community and really sold me on Vista Apartment Homes by way of his explanation of the amenities and benefits. Furthermore, Kyree is always available and is a big help when there are any issues to be solved. He is very on hand during a continuing cable service installation issue and rallied the troops to get the job done. The maintenance crew including Marcleve, Maintenance Supervisor and Bruce, Maintenance Technician, have always been very responsive dealing with all the repairs in a timely and professional manner. They are also very friendly, professional and responsible. If you say you need something done--they get it done. In short, the entire on-site management of Vista Vista Apartment Homes makes me feel AT home in my new home.
Ive been living at VISTA apartments for about a month. My overall experience thus far is not terrible, but its definitely not where I would want it to be for the price that Im paying. The apartment was not completely ready when I arrived. There were several things that were overlooked or not attended to prior to move-in. For example, the master bedrooms bathroom shower was broken and the knobs for the water were switched to opposite sides (i.e. H is written on cold water knob and C for hot water). My mailbox wouldnt open upon move-in, so Ive had things sent to a P.O. Box and Im probably going to keep the box open since packages here are put in an open room for residents to come by and the front door is open during the day which means my packages are susceptible to theft. Because Vista is within the same network as my previous apartment in a different state, I believed that it would have the same quality, but thus far its fallen short in several areas. However, one saving grace is that the maintenance guy Bruce has come by to fix some of the issues and even fixed an issue that I hadnt requested. Also, the staff here has been nice, but the quality of the apartment is just subpar. With this one, you just pick your battle. In my search, its been one of the better options in Philadelphia.
I signed a lease with Vista for a year, and was begging to get out of it by the ten months. First off, it is very overpriced for the location and the age of their apartments. The worst part was their TERRIBLE inability to handle any problems in a decent time period. We had to get our thermostats replaced TWICE because they were simply not working. My room mate and I lost hot water many times, and it would take days for them to fix it. I did not have heat working in my bedroom for 2 weeks, because they kept insisting that they would send someone and they never did. At one point in the winter, my thermostat CAUGHT ON FIRE (clearly there is a wiring problem). I called them when the office opened at 9. When I got back to the building at noon, I spoke to the office and they said no one had told them about it! My room mate and I are full time students and are rarely home during the day. Our heating bills during the winter ranged from 250-400 dollars! For a two bedroom apartment! They claimed it was because this winter was exceptionally cold. Additionally, they have AC units that stick out of the building and during the winter, there is a brutal draft that comes in and makes the heat extremely ineffective. Also, a pipe burst during the winter, essentially turning the lobby into a lake, and because they have no maintenance people in the building, we had to wait hours for maintenance to come and turn off the alarm. This was an issue at least twice a month, in which an alarm would go off in the middle of the night, and we would have to wait up to 3 hours for a maintenance person to come and switch it off. Fire fighters did not have access to it. Also, one night when the alarm had been going over for 45 minutes, I decided to call 911 to see if they were coming, and the responder told me that no one had notified them of the fire alarm going off. Effectively, the buildingis extremely unsafe and has an inefficient emergency response. Additionally, it is not a smoke free building, and towards the end of my lease, the apartment below me smoked excessively and my apartment reaked of cigarettes. I told them it was impossible to live in and she said they would be in air fresheners in the vents. Two weeks later, it was still terrible, and she said whoops, we actually just got the fresheners in and we will put it in. Currently, we have been moved out of the apartment for over 3 months and they have still not sent us our safety deposit. They are extremely inadequate in solving the countless issues that come with such an old building, and living there was one problem after another. I have told everyone I know to not live here because I would never want anyone to have to go through all the inconveniences that we had to deal with. Many residents I ran into had the same complaints and subsequently did not renew their lease.
Lived here for several months and I absolutely love it. I love the location and the view from the 11th floor is simply amazing. Kyrie in the leasing office is the best. He’s very professional and answer any questions or problems I may have. The maintenance crew is great and friendly. I proud to call this place home.
The management staff at the Vista are exemplary. Kyree and Tabatha and their two support employees, Cie and Bruce comprise the small group of this very effective team, Their response to concerns, recommendations and complaints demonstrates pride in their positions, as they provide excellence in the caliber and timeliness of their work. The apartments are beautiful and the conveniences in the neighborhood perfect. It seems unlikely one could find a better choice than residency here at the Vista, where I have lived for over four years. For this reason I rate this as a 5 star residence.
The management office is incredible. They listen and actually care about your issues - they even went so far as to contact the trash collection company on our behalf and ask them to change their pickup times so we weren’t woken up at 3am by the trash trucks. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. So happy we moved here!
This review was written in 2016.Apartments are OK, a little over priced but Ok. Staffs here are soooo rude!!! Especially, the new manager, Michelle. She changed the concierge and package hours, and notified residents on the same day. Shes just super rude. Too many things. Generally she just not a good person.
Love the building along with Kyree and the new maintaince guy which i forgot his name. The new manager is not so bad but i still prefer Byron because Byron can interact with people more friendly and done things smoother. Well too bad, he move to another facility which not even in Philly.
Very bad service, my rooms door is very strong and I tried many times to open it but it did not work.I contact them, they said I will be here in an hour !!!The worst apartment. The worst accommodation Ferrand has ever had in the apartment and poor service. I advise everyone not to live in it with many options on City Avenue.

2022-06-09I have been a tenant at Vista apt for two years. The property staffs ( leasing office and maintenance) are excellent with caring. Nile is the assistant manager. She goes above and beyond to help us. Thanks a lot, guys; keep up the good work.

2022-06-22I have lived here for one year and renewed my lease, Yolanda and her team gave me the maximum assistance when I was recovering from a serious leg injury over several months. The new package room system is very convenient, the garage always has enough space. The trash tunnel is always full during the weekend which could be improved.

2022-04-14⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️If I could only put minus stars .We stayed over there for a year .Besides to the fact that’s nothing works properly in this building.(elevators 90% of time out of order , garbage smell in the lobby, smoke alarms always beeping, changing code to the entrance door and let nobody know , half of the gym is out of order, everything that needs to be done or fixed taking forever) literally except to the maintenance and part of the staff everything is messed up over there .We left before month and a half. We didn’t got our deposit yet, and we going to get less than 30%From the deposit because of absolutely nothing!!!I’m really hoping that people will see that review and stay away from this building.

2022-07-19Beware of the maintenance man Mark. I was a tenant here for 2 years. During my move out process Mark went into my apartment and stole my money jug & when confronted about it he acted clueless. Refused to run the cameras back claims they don’t work was put there for decoration when cops got involved he suddenly found my money jar on a different floor inside of an empty apartment and instead of returning it to me physically he proceeded to put it inside my vehicle without me being present.

2022-06-17Updated review: Pros, great location, the mail room available 24/7, fast maintenance response, and clean apartments.Cons, apartments r relatively small, the balcony has a solid fence instead of bars, which makes it like a box with no roof 🙂 “boring”, and old apparatus. The club house close on Sunday and be4 6:00pm on weekdays. The new lady in the front desk is very rude.

2021-07-02When my partner and I initially moved here we were concerned because some of the old reviews that talked about poor management. That is no longer the case as new management has recently come in and they are phenomenal. Jeff White, the property management, is the gold standard for property managers. He is incredibly personable, professional, and is there 6 days a week. The maintenance staff is also top notch with a quick and easy portal to put maintenance requests in. Our apartment was clean and kept in good repair when we moved in. We could not recommend this apartment enough, definitely worth the price of rent.

2021-08-06I lived here as my first apartment as an undergraduate student. I was new to apartment living and of course came prepared with many questions. The management at the vista apartments were so rude and mean to me I couldn’t believe it. Jeff answered all of my questions in the rudest ways possible every single time and talked down to me as if I was a child speaking to him. I tried my best to always remain kind but it was disheartening the way I was being treated. I hated living here because of how rude they treated me and decided to not extend my lease due to these problems. The blinds in the apartment are horrible and the bathrooms and underkept with furniture decaying. My bathtub had the bottom of it peeling up the entire time I lived here. I recommend finding a nicer management staff when choosing a place to live, it’s not worth it here.

2018-03-16I have lived here for about 9 months now and have had a great experience. The apartment is clean and the view of the city from the windows and balcony is unbeatable! I am very pleased with how prompt and helpful the maintenance staff is. I have never had an issue getting the maintenance services that I needed. In addition, getting packages is quick & easy, and my packages are stored safely until I am able to pick them up. The leasing office staff are wonderful and friendly! There is a nice workout room that I take advantage of frequently. I opted to use the downstairs laundry room and it is always clean and smelling fresh. I have had an exceptional experience here and would recommend it!

2020-07-10Ive been living here for couple of years now and have had a pleasant experience living here. Everything is very accessible: Grocery, Outdoor Dining, and Public. My apartment is very roomy with lots of sun light and a fantastic balcony. The management and maintenance team are courteous and responsive and care for the community. I have enjoyed all my interactions with them and particularly Jeff has always been helpful and pleasant to work with.
