Ive had a very bad experience with this office on the billing side. However the doctor that did my tooth is their saving grace. If not for him, I wouldve never been back. He is the only reason Im giving 5 stars, but if you want an office that chooses money over service, then this is your place.
I left feeling amazing. Dr. Hassel (hope Im spelling his name right) and his assistant Eva are the best. Good Energy and great sense of humor. As he was cleaning my teeth, he was communicating with me which took my mind off of any discomfort I had. Dr. Hassel was very knowledgeable and informative. Thank you Dr. Hassel and Eva for a great experience. See you again

I felt like my teeth cleaning was really rushed and it wasn’t thorough enough. It also hurt and I got water sprayed in my face by accident. Otherwise the dentist and dental hygienist were nice people. I was asked to give them a 5 star review in front of them, which I am now editing as I don’t think that is accurate.

My friend recommended Washington Square Dental several years ago because of the positive experience she had there, and that same positive experience is what has kept me coming back. The lovely folks at this office always have me laughing and smiling while preparing me for my appointment. You can tell that Dr. Hassler is passionate about dentistry and takes pride in providing great care to his patients. Hes easy to talk with and happy to answer any questions I have as a patient. And the other reviews are also correct that the view of Washington Square is a nice cherry on top.

Dr. Hassler is the best dentist I have had my entire life! I actually am excited to go every six months! He is so friendly and willing to answer ANY questions you might have about dental care or the procedures he is doing. He always makes you feel comfortable and ensures that you speak up if there is any discomfort. I can not recommend him enough!
As someone who was literally afraid to go to the dentist for years (all kinds of painful procedures as a teen), Dr Hassler is truly the most wonderful person. Hes kind and open, taking the time to understand your concerns and explain whats happening. He even convinced me to finally get my wisdom teeth removed, recommending me to trustworthy surgeon here. Worst dental office I have ever been to. Extremely rude and incompetent staff, very unprofessional practice. Not sure how they are still in business. There are plenty of options in Center City Philadelphia. We will be switching to a more reliable dentist. Avoid the nightmare we went through and choose another office.

2022-03-28Prior to moving to center city Philadelphia, I had the same dentist for 40 years, and the office was run efficiently and friendly.When I moved in town I was referred to another office in the city and that ended quickly.I have been coming to Washington Square for a couple of years and I like the dentist very much, Stephen Hassler. He is efficient and extremely professional.I am not as satisfied with the professionalism with the other office staff.The reminder phone message was rushed through so quickly I could barely make out was was. Ring said. As for me, a text message to my mobile phone as a reminder would suffice.Today, the woman at the front desk was not wearing a mask and the technician was wearing her mask below her nose.I feel as though some additional oversight and training on the business side would go a long way to improving the feel of the office.Thank you for offering me the opportunity to reach out to you.

Ive had an issue with my gums for a year now, and the dentist gave me the most thorough cleaning Ive ever had, and fixed the issue, as well as gave me solid advice to keep the issue at bay. Great service and seemed to really care about addressing my problems. Highly recommend!

2022-07-14Dr. Hassler is a wonderful dentist. I highly recommend him. He explains everything, takes time and is very gentle. The office is right on Washington Square and is clean and comfortable. All the folks that work there are very nice and helpful.My only complaint is it takes about 3 layers of going though some answering service to make an appointment. Takes a long time and lots of back and forth. This has nothing to do with the quality of Dr. Hasslers work, its the company that manages the appointments. Its worth the hassle.

2022-05-04Unfortunately my insurance changed and this office was assigned as my primary dentist. At the time of leaving Eva asked me to scan the QR code on the business card and leave a review. She stood there and watched and insisted I give her 5 stars. After leaving I tried to remove the rating but google wouldn’t allow it so I temporarily changed it to 4 stars until I could deal with it later. Ten minutes after walking out of the office Eva calls me to say “You changed your review to 4 stars, is this an accident? Can you fix it?” I told her how unprofessional this whole thing is and it puts patients in an uncomfortable situation. I’m truly shocked that my number was taken from my chart to pester me about a review. Much better to have no review or 4 stars than the 1 star I’m leaving now, right?I just wanted to get my teeth cleaned, be on my way, and come back in 6 months. I told Eva I will be finding a new dentist. She clarified that she is not the doctor. Doesn’t matter. The behavior makes the whole practice look unprofessional.The dentist himself was fine. Rushed cleaning, painful, but decent bedside manner. I would have gone back if it weren’t for this begging for a review thing.

2022-05-27Today i returned to Washington Square Dental for services and was reminded of the great dental treatment I have been missing. From the time I walked in greeted by Asif, assisted by Eva and Serviced by Dr Hassler, the entire experience was friendly and professional. Not to mention impeccably clean. This office is the best and I highly recommend anyone in need of primary dental care to make Washington Square Dental their choice
