I had such a great experience. I had an emergency and since I’m new to the area I didn’t know about any dentists that are good and takes my insurance. They didn’t take it but they were the first ones who gave me an appointment right away (the next day). Boy was I surprised! Everyone there had a lovely attitude and were extremely nice, patient, and gentle. I had almost no pain and the doc kept asking to make sure I was comfortable and gave me extra numbing if I felt any pain. It was pricey cause of the insurance thing but I only had to pay for the extraction. The exam and X-rays were free since I was a new patient. Everyone seemed to get along and worked very well together. Thank you to everyone who assisted me. I appreciate all of you for taking such excellent care of me.
I’m a person who is typically terrified at the dentist and one of those adults who cry. Dr. Scharfe is wonderful, very attentive and kind. Everyone there makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I’ve never had a bad experience here. They do great work and are so thorough unlike other places I’ve gone to. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Super kind and caring people. I had neglected my teeth and had to have one pulled. The dentists and technicians were not judgemental. They made me as comfortable as possible to get the job done. Affordable as well. No price gouging. I have already scheduled my cleaning. Thanks to all of you.
I had not been to a dentist in about 8 years and my experience was great. I did not feel that I was treated bad. I also didnt get any negative feedback from the dentist or any of the staff. The manager was very willing to adjust and explain things to me on how my insurance would work as well as what I would be paying out of pocket. I was very pleased with my visit and plan to continue with my services.
They were so friendly (every person I talked to our helped me). They had no judgment and were so willing to help me come up with the best next steps and took the time to answer all of my questions. Plus financially they have options and want to help you make your smile beautiful again. I cant wait to go back and start my plan they made up just for me. Thank you for everything ( my last dentist was rude and made me cry multiple times with how they werent willing to actually save teeth I learned through Williamsport dental that I can save). If I could give 10 stars I would!!
New patient first visit: Best experience I have ever had going to the dentist. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Extremely knowledgeable staff. I appreciated the in depth explanations to my questions. Amazing flexibility they for future scheduling. Would recommend for sure!!
Excellent hygienist and dentist. Best dentistry I have ever had. Usually appointments run a little behind schedule but they are good at minimizing the time I spend in the dentist chair so I appreciate that. Staff is very friendly and take time to explain things and give me options. I dont get the feeling that every bit of dental work I need is the end of the world and I dont feel pressured to make instantaneous decisions about the work that is recommended. The parking lot can be a bit to navigate when traffic backs up so I recommend parking farther from the door and walking a bit so you dont get boxed in by traffic trying to exit the plaza. The parking makes this a 4.5 star review but the service makes me round up to 5 stars.
Absolutely shameful practice of practicing on people at a really high price.I cannot even think about this place without crying. They were horrible and pushy and the guarantee that you don’t pay until you’re 100%satisfied is a bunch of bull. I was forced to take my dentures and leave. Mortified by the experience of driving an hour each way 10 or more times to get them fitted and polished.Never happened. They disgust me beyond my wildest imagination.
3 stars because they over book and don’t allow their staff enough time to complete one patient at a time. Twice now I have had scheduled appointments both of which I show up a little early to check in then wait an extra 30-45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. Neither time did a staff member come to me and tell me there would be a longer wait due to whatever circumstance they had going on which I would have respected a lot more than just sitting there waiting and waiting. The hygienist does a great job cleaning and making sure you’re comfortable. The doctor is easy going, quick with his examinations, and will answer any and all questions.
0 stars, the absolute WORST dental facility in human history! The “doctors” are completely unskilled and not willing to help, they love to string you along and take money with no intent to provide service, and they like to give pricing they won’t follow. Even after you go to your surgeon and have them confirm everything is fine, they’re response is “well he’s not my boss.” Don’t trust them for ANYTHING!!!!! Before my own absolutely negative experience, they charged my mom for things they didn’t even perform! Con-artists and swindlers, that’s all they are. On my days off I’m considering standing out front with a sign to deter any potential clients from making the horrible mistake of trusting these clowns!!!!!
Ive always had a fear of going to the dentist since I was young. However the staff and dentists here have done a fantastic job at reducing my worries. Especially nurse Celeste and nurse Michelle Theyre kind, and they always walk me through the procedures. Ive honestly never had such a positive experience with going the dentist before. I can confidently say that I recommend this dentist clinic.Thank you to all the friendly staff and dentists at Williamsport Dental and Dentures.
I went here to have my upper teeth removed and a lower tooth removed . I got Care Credit card to have that work as well as upper dentures and a lower partial plate done. They were friendly and I had little pain in the tooth removal process. However, Ive had the upper plate relined twice and still need a fair amount of adhesive to keep it in place and cant began to just eat an apple without cutting it up as the plate shifts when I try.The lower plate never fit right and they said that it would be adjusted after I had 6 fillings done on the bottom teeth so I havent used that at all.During this time my husband was very ill and I had to cancel some appointments. He has since passed away and I asked that the money I had paid in advance be refunded. I havent heard anything on that. Ive paid back the full amount of the credit card and can ill afford paying for service that wasnt what I was hoping for. UPDATE: I spoke with Dental and Dentures and resolved my issues and received a refund for work Im not going to have done.
I am beyond happy with my care here! I called because I found a cavity and they were able to get me for an exam/xrays AND a cleaning the next day! I hadnt seen a dentist in 4 years and they didnt make me feel bad because of it. Every single staff member I encountered was kind and respectful. They walked me through everything and were able to get me an appointment for a filling only 2 weeks away. This place actually makes me feel comfortable going for dental exams and I am happy to say I have found my dentist!
I could not find a place to see me for months, no one is accepting new patients or they are just booked out for months. I called this place at 1030 an was seen same day at 1 oclock. Everyone extremely nice if youre in need of emergency appointment this place is the place to call.
Absolutely love the team. The energetic feel of the office is outstanding! I am new to the area recently having transplanted from Florida and they made me feel right at home. From the person who answered the phone first thing in the morning and found a way to squeeze me in, to everyone else who made the experience as painless as possible. All I can say is, well done. I am beyond grateful for everyones efforts today.
This review is mixed. I received great service from Dr. Scharfe in replacing a broken crown. I asked him about getting a partial made for two missing teeth. He said that it could be done and that they would take care of me. I was made to pay for the partial up front, over $1000. I had three appointments, one for an impression, the next to try on the wax partial, and then the fitting. At the second appointment, I was not happy with the fit or feel of the partial. They looked it over and said it wouldnt feel that way when it was not in wax. They had me sign regarding the coloring of the teeth, etc. At the final appointment, I spent an hour in the chair for the fitting...they kept taking the partial away and grinding it down in another room, because it DIDNT fit. When it finally fit in acceptably, I asked to see it. It was horrible. Talk about ugly...my teeth looked better without it. It was poorly made and the teeth did NOT look normal, or resemble my real teeth whatsoever. The pink material used to resemble the gum material, was covering the teeth in front of the missing tooth and looked like a huge wad of gum stuck to my teeth. I mentioned it to the dentist and she said they could give me a refund. I was taken to see the business manager and she said the refund would process...that there may be a fee, did the dentist mention it?!?! I said no, she said I would get a refund...the partial looked terrible. The lady told me they would call if there was going to be any change to the refund. Well, she never called and they simply processed a refund for $300 less than my original payment. So I received nothing for a terrible, ill fitted partial, that was ground down to nothing in order to fit and looked like garbage. I contacted them to address the situation and have not heard anything back. They took my money and I have nothing to show for it, except three days of sitting in their office and the drive it took to get there and back. I am very unimpressed and will not be returning, in spite of liking Dr. Scharfe and the quality of his work...thats the only reason they get two stars. - In follow up to their response in which they can’t even write my actual name, they have NEVER once called me in response to my complaint, despite having my number in their office records. Don’t lie…it’s really unprofessional.
Had a great experience!!! Everyone from the check-in right down to the Dr was very friendly and caring. The Dr was very gentle and ensure I was pain free. Came in with a smile I was embarrassed to show and let’s with a smile that I’m happy to show the word!!! Can’t wait to see what my final set of dentures will look like. The temporary ones look and feel great!!!! This place rocks!!!! I will highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.
I don’t do reviews usually however, I thought this was worth one. I have natural anxiety when it comes to the dentists. Past visits with incompetent dentists only made those anxieties worse. My visit today was nothing like that. Everyone from the front office to the dentist to the office manager Melissa were amazing and extremely compassionate. They really do as a whole know how to make someone feel comfortable. I was able to schedule my appointment for a procedure. Not having dental insurance at the moment, Melissa took the time to break everything down for me and show me all the options available to me. I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone I know. I don’t think I would feel comfortable going anywhere else... really amazing practice!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. This is the worst service I have ever had. They bill you for crowns that fall out 4 times, cant seem to get them to stay in. Finally in an emergency situation had to go to another dentist (at Christmas). They told me the crown was not done properly. I finally work something out for credit on the phone with the office manager and they never update the contact information on file. Statements going to the wrong address and threats to send to collections! All the while, all they had to do was call me. They certainly had my information.
Office staff and Dentist that have helped orchestrate my appointment (seeing as I was from out of state) for a Same day Service have done an Outstanding Job!!!My appointment was for a replacement set of Dentures...from x rays, impressions, wax fitting to final plate and adjustments...Happy to have my Smile Back!!! Thanks to all involved! (Including former patients reviews whose helped in my decision to choose Williamsport Dental and Dentures.)
My mouth was a complete train wrecked. We started on January 6 2021, from the moment I sat in the chair they made me feel unashamed about my teeth and went right to work. We came up with a plan and time line and kept to it right to the end. The doctor’s there didn’t feel like doctors, mores so like friends that you were looking forward to seeing even knowing you where heading to the dentist. By February 26, I had a amazing smile for the first time in 20 years. I’ll leave it like this, everyday they are changing people life’s for the better. Which I couldn’t be more thankful for.
I am writing this review not for myself but for my mom. She had an appointment today..My car broke down and I needed a ride to work..Because of that she was running late for her appointment..She called as soon as they opened to let them know and the lady was very rude to her wanting to know how late cuz it was already time for her appointment...Well she couldnt call sooner cuz her appointment was at 9 right when they opened...When she told them it would be 30 minutes she was rudely told she would have to reschedule..No compassion whatsoever with this lady..My mom knows compassion as she works in healthcare and would NEVER be this rude to her patients...There is a nice way to handle things and this lady on the phone does not know how to deal with people in and should not be working in the area of customer service...
Did teeth cleaning, hygienist was unprofessional, rude, and unnecessary hurtful, though I asked her to go easier on my gums that still hurts after several operations. She got so mad that she cut short my cleaning and kicked me out. Missed my teeth with her polishing tool and got into my gums instead, I had pain for several days. Very unpleasant experience.
Its early to tell. Todays visit was the 1st. I learned something that my former dentist just never said anything about. I brush my teeth like I am trying to clean rust off of metal. Little did I know...till today that brushing that hard will erode the gum line and peel the dentin that the enamel adheres to. I have to buy a softer bristle brush and be more gentle. Wonder if the gum line will come back? Very professional group of people willing to help and are passionate about the people they serve.
I came for a visit in October- I believe. Everyone was kind and welcoming and I couldn’t be more happy regarding that. I’m just a little weary when it comes to the work I need done and the charges, which after going through my insurance shows a lot would be covered a decent amount- if not completely. I had called and requested a pre-d be sent to my insurance company, but I never got a response regarding that being done or my insurance receiving one. I’m wanting to get this work done, but my biggest hiccup that I’ve been debating is -once again- the insurance factor.
I have a loose front tooth from a fall since mid April and could not find a single dentist in my area to help, firstly because of Covid-19, and then it was due to a schedule overload once things started opening up. I searched high and low; far and wide and thank God I found Williamsport Dental & Dentures who scheduled me within one day. This practice is AMAZING! They are very professional, organized and thorough. The Staff was friendly, informative and helped me tremendously! I am delighted with the outcome of my visit to this practice. I would recommend them to anyone in need of quality dental care. Angela Rose
I had a very pleasant experience at Williamsport Dental and Dentures. The staff was friendly and professional. Shannon and Mellissa made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Im definitely going back for future treatment. Went back for a cleaning on 8/19/20 again, Shannon and mellissa were great, super staff. Top marks.
I had an exam on Wed. Dr said I had 3 cavities and needed cleaning. I paid for the work that day. The work was done the next day, but the Dr actually did more than what I was told. Then they wanted to bill me an extra 1895.00! Then when I got home, the Dr. Called my cell and tried to blame me for his mistakes. Unbelievable. The office manager said she is going to pass the charge on to my insurance company. I dont think they should foot the bill either, for work I didnt even approve of. The original bill that was agreed on and paid by me was $295.40. Quite a difference, huh? Very unprofessional. Never again. I also notice that the owner does not respond to bad reviews, only the good ones. Update: 11 days has passed since the work was done on my teeth. I got the statement from the insurance co. Come to find out, the Dr. billed me for 10! Cavities!, as opposed to the original 3 that he told me I had during the original exam and x-ray. No wonder I was in there for 2 1/2 hrs. Plus, I have had severe pain in my lower teeth for the last week. Please, Williamsport, dont make the mistake I did by going to this Rip Off joint.
Unprofessional. Nobody communicates therefore nobody had a clue what was going on. Rude, rude, rude assistants. New patient form THEY CREATED only caused confusion to which they then acted as if that was my fault & they dont even bother reading the entire chart or notes to have a general idea of why youre there in the first place. They just shuffle you around while they try to figure out the confusion they caused. Just flat out completely rude. Went in to discuss prices and they immediately started talking about taking me back for surgery on the spot. Only person who was nice was the lady who gave me a price quote. Will never return and recommend them to NO ONE. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
New patience but just left because they were unable (unwilling) to give me a $130 billing credit on 1st visit. This visit is a consultation and X-ray meeting which they advertise as FREE. However, I found out they did bill my dental insurance. . .which in the beginning seems free to me but this charge reduces my $1,500 yearly insurance cap. . .once reached I pay 100%. Asked them twice to fix; they pointed to “fine print” (gosh I hate fine print). So I canceled all future appointments (around $7,500 of work). My next dentist will get that. . .
I am on week 7 of my year long dental procedure, Im not gonna lie, its a tough process..but know the end result will be exactly what I am expecting... the staff is wonderful, I cant stress that enough, they are genuinely concerned about how Im progressing through this...Angela at the front desk is great about getting you an appointment whenever you call and works around my work schedule to get my appointments....I would recommend this office to anyone in need of getting dental work done...big or small, they do it all!!
I was a little skeptical about using a big dentist thinking I would just be another patient on the assembly line, but both dentists and all of the assistants I interacted with were very personable. The dentists were very professional and took great care of me. I would have no reservations about recommending them to my friends or family.
I never liked going to the Dentist, but going here has been my best experience to date. They dont judge and having 4 teeth extracted and a partial put in I couldnt be happier the Dr was great to joke around with and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. He was like family and I wont hesitate to go back. I will definitely recommend to everyone that this is the place to go. now to get the rest of my teeth in shape and order.
Im a current patient here and am desperately trying to find another dentist in a reasonable area that will accept my insurance. I have had several fillings done here (new and replacements) and they are VERY heavy handed leaving a painful jaw for days, even weeks afterwards. In addition, I had an issue with a filling they did last February and went in everyday for a week complaining of pain and not being able to chew, even liquids and brushing my teeth was painful. They kept telling me nothing was wrong and it got to the point I had to go to the ER with an infection that had half my face swollen and ended up needing a same day root canal. Ive been wary of having more work done for fear of a repeat situation. I finally had an old filling crack and thought, time to get this addressed and made the appointment to get it fixed and another old metal filling while I was numb. BIG MISTAKE. I couldnt open my mouth for 3 days following and the pain in my tooth has been constant, additionally, THEY DIDNT EVEN FIX THE OTHER METAL FILLING???? They do not explain what tooth they are going to be working on and asking questions is like prying information away with a pickax. I have made an appointment at another dentist because I dont trust that if I go back to complain (after waiting long past my appointment time to even be seen) they will even do anything since they ignored me last time. I have brought all these concerns to their staff in person before and have not been satisfied with their minimal responses or felt like Ive been listened to.
Dr. Patel is very professional and easy to talk to. Michelle, (maybe Melissa?) the office manager is great and will walk you through the whole process, how to save money and what the next steps to take will be. The group as a whole were amazing and even though I cant get in to the surgeon they referred me to, I am happy to say I am officially not intimidated to go the dentist anymore. Not to mention, the first time I called, they got me in within an hour as a new patient!
I was not happy that no one told me the procedure for new patients. I thought most of the office staff was polite but impersonal. I thought the doctor was at least personable. Have to use for my insurance, but would not be mt first choice. It was clean and had newest equipment.
This place is the most amazing dental office myself or my fiance had ever been!My fiance had a prolonged horrible toothache and we went to Williamsport D&D as a walk -in patient. We knew there would be some waiting involved, but his pain was unbearable. He was able to get examined, x-rayed, and had the work done he needed, all in about 2 to 3 hours. As a walk-in patient, that kind of service was so spectacular. Not only the secretarial staff at reception, but the dentist and hygienist who performed the extractions were amazing, my fiance said. Im so happy with this place, and I would recommend this for anyone! Thank you all for everything!
Had an appointment made for 9:00 AM, got there at 8:50. Two people came in after me, and went back before I did. I didnt go back until 9:30. Only hygienist they have there was too reckless with the scraper tool she was using, poked and scraped at my gums multiple times, and kept holding the mirror tool in very awkward and uncomfortable positions in my mouth. Had to wait another 15 or so minutes for the actual dentist or whoever to come, and hardly looked at my mouth before walking off again, making me wait another few minutes before actually being told I could leave. Only positive I can give is the convenience of the location.
You people emailed me twice to cancel cleaning appointments and for me and my daughter and husband and when we called to reschedule you were not available. If there was a 0 available option I would give you that. You should be concerned about preventing dental work having to be done for people too which includes regular cleanings especially since we just spent thousands for braces for our daughter.
Williamsport Dental & Denture has always treated me with the utmost best care. From the wonderful ladies in the front, to the great assistants, the fabulous dental hygienist, and the excellent doctors. I always get an appointment in a timely manner and all my questions are always answered. I would 100% reccomend this office.
I went there due to wisdom tooth pain. I could barely open my mouth. I was told the X-rays they took were free since it was my first time ever going there. Just checked my insurance and they tried billing my insurance for the X-rays, which was denied. And now I owe over $200 for X-rays I was told were free. They wanted to remove my wisdom teeth, but wanted me to pay over $700, but I was currently in college and definitely didn’t have that kind of money. The lady at the desk was very rude when I said I don’t have the money to do that. The dentist was extremely friendly during the whole visit, but I did have to wait quite awhile to even be seen.
I moved to Williamsport last July 2019. I tried to establish dental care with a local provider but their billing system was really weird and interfered with good dental care. I had driven by Williamsport & Denture frequently and decided to give it a try. My two visits were a much better experience for me.Until....at the last visit, a set of x-rays supposedly revealed a darkened area well below the gum line of a particular tooth. Concerned it might be an abcess or other abnormality I was referred to an endodontic specialist nearby. The appointment was set and when I arrived the specialist asked me why I was there. I referred him to my discussion and x-rays with my dentist. He showed me the enlarged views of my x-rays from Williamsport Dental and Dentures and said there was nothing to cause a red flag. So he did a deeper scan and in the process discovered what he described as an easily identifiable broken post of the tooth in that same area. He not only told me that they should have it seen at the dental office but it would have to be them that would need to do the work. I was disappointed that I had spent over $400 in cash and benefits for something that should have been easily see in the dentists office.I wrote a letter seeking redress of the matter since I do have a legitimate issue with one tooth that needs immediate attention. I was hoping to come to an accommodation of money that I had already wasted to be applied toward treatment of this tooth. What happened next can only be described as textbook conduct for what you should not do to take care of your patients concerns.I was sent a letter (actually two - one in first class mail and one sent as certified mail and both arriving the same day) stating that they had made no error and since I was obviously just trying to hit them up for money that I would no longer be a patient at Williamsport Dental and Dentures. So, the next day I go to the dental office to have a discussion about the matter and the business manager tells me she is too busy to see me at the moment and that I can wait in the lobby or schedule a future appointment. I stated that I may be able to wait and she (the business manager, Melissa) says I have no idea when I will be free to talk to you. I could tell that she did not want to have this discussion. The business manager walks away from me and the receptionist asks me what I want to do and asks me for my name. I give it and she immediately turns around and grabs a chart (presumably mine and takes it to the business managers office) and then says, It may be a while, do you want to schedule an appointment? It was clear where this was going.Ive never been booted out of any medical practice in 56 years so this was a first. I merely wanted them to acknowledge that they may have had made an error at some level and was willing to seek an accommodation with me so that I can have my broken post replaced. For merely expecting good business practice I am now booted from this dental provider and seeking my third dentist in 9 months.Reading other reviews I know that if they respond at all to this review that it will be the same general statement of a desire to bring professionalism into every patients experience and to perhaps call them to discuss this issue further. Excuse me, I did more than call. I showed up and was even willing to wait in the lobby to have the discussion that would should have had. But it was very clear that avoidance of me and the issue was the goal of WD&D this day.**UPDATE** Today, I am contacted through this review site and was encouraged to reach out and contact them and that they were sorry for the experience. I am more than willing to have the conversation with WD&D but after the extra efforts I took to have such a conversation, I believe the ball is in their court to reach out to me directly and have the conversation necessary to redress the original concern as well as their subsequent lack of professionalism in this matter.**UPDATE**Still no word from this dentist about correcting issue.
As soon as I walked in I was professionally greated by Felicia who was very polite and kind. Then I was taken back by Kourtney who was very welcoming and bubble smiling the entire time. The Doctor came over and was very communicative about everything and showed he really cared. Overall I find the staff was very kind and professional. I definitely went from not like going to the dentist to feeling at home and personal. Id give them a 10 out if 10 minus the business manager who Im not too fond of.
Williamsport Dental and Denture was incredibly helpful, courteous and sympathetic towards my situation. Some people would consider the entire staff singing along to the music playing in the back to be unprofessional, but I thought it was very jovial and inviting. It really set my mind at ease considering I have a huge phobia of dentists. I wish my place of employment offered such a light hearted, fun atmosphere. Ive grown to adamantly detest Aspen Dental and read nothing but great reviews of WD&D, so I gave them a shot. Even though they dont accept my dental insurance(Cigna DHMO), Im more than happy to pay out of pocket for the time being to avoid Aspen at all costs. Although Im not excited about returning to have my broken tooth extracted, I know Im in good hands!
Dont try to call them and ask questions. Angela will greet you rudely and respond with attitude. Make sure Donna does your x-rays. The young x -techs will jab you. The one made me cry. Dr. Throupe was great. She seemed unsure of her answers and looked at me like a deer in headlights when I asked her questions. The one day I walked in without an appointment because I was in major pain...they told me the wait would be two hours. At the two hour mark, I walked over to the counter and asked how much longer. They said there were still others ahead of me. I had counted three other walk- ins that had been seen before me. That makes me wonder how organized they are.
I had the best experience on May 1st 2019 at the Williamsport Dental and Dentures location since my childhood dental office. The hygienist was very professional.I was seen by Dr. Patel. He was very compassionate about my needs and wants, he did not rush me/us in our decision making and gave us many options to think about, he took the time to show us models of bridges both permanent and removable so that we knew what he was talking about. Lets not forget about Melissa who was very informative, professional and answered every question we had before we left the office. I have a severe fear of going to the dentist and this office location made me feel more comfortable and my fears were less. I highly recommend this office to everyone. Im very excited to see my new smile in a six-month time frame.😁😁
I work out of town and was having extreme dental pain. I called and was given a same day appointment for the initial visit. They brought me back in the next day and got me taken care of completely. What was originally put down was 4 visits but they was able to get it done in 2. My total time in the office was 2 hours. If I’m ever in the area again and need a dentist i wouldn’t call anyone else.
Worst dentist office in the area. They lie about cost of the work that needs done to rope you into a few appointments then ask for more money over and over again. I have paid them over $2700 which was told to be my final price and now they are asking for an additional $3000. I do not recommend using them for any dental needs.
When I first moved to the area, I was looking for a new dentist. The reviews looked good for williamsport dental and dentures. I have went back 2-3 times now and every time the front desk personnel has been very short and unfriendly. No one even said “hi.” They just said “name? That’ll be $121.00.” Seems very unprofessional for a customer based business. Also the dentist never even introduced himself the first time I met him. I had to ask later. Overall, I do not get a warm, inviting experience when I go here.
Today I will have my 10th appointment since January 22nd. I had a few teeth extracted and had a few complications. About 10 days afterwards when I woke up and went into brush my teeth I noticed that I developed an infection and I had some exposed bone that developed an ulcer around it (I knew the bone was exposed but thought the gum would heal and close up around it.) I called and made an appointment for that day due to the pain and infection. The female dentist that I saw looked in my mouth and said that there was no infection and would not address the bone issue. I told her that I had a pocket of pus this morning and with brushing and rinsing the pocket opened up and that it was draining. (I knew it was draining because of the horrid taste) She finally ordered me an antibiotic. Within 2 days the drainage had stopped and the hard mass in my cheek was gone. I had to go back in 4 days later because the area with the exposed bone was getting larger and increasing amount of pain. I had to thru another procedure to have the bone trimmed back. It then took 2 weeks for that area to heal. I then had some teeth prepped for crowns and impressions done, Dr. Patel was wonderful. A few days later I got a call that I had to go back in because the lab did not like my impressions. I scheduled an appointment for yesterday, 4/3. After sitting there 20 minutes past my appointment time they called me up to the desk to inform me that the lab tech that was to do my impressions had left and that I had to reschedule. Really! I worked as an RN in an operating room and would never have left without checking the schedule! So I now have to go back in today, 4/4. (It is a 25 minute drive for me each way). If I havent already paid for all my work to be done I would definitely go somewhere else.UPDATE: went back in to have my impressions redone only to find out that a lab tech does not do the impression. I had Dr. Patel again and he called the lab to find out what was wrong with the impressions, they could not tell him what was wrong with them. He thinks the lab lost them. Anyway I had to be numbed up again to have these impressions up. So now we know that they lie to their patients to cover up for their errors.
The staff was very kind and I did not wait long for my appointment. The office manager covered my treatment plan cost and was very helpful in getting my financial needs taken care of. I would recommend Williamsport Dental and Dentures to my family and friends with confidence that they will get the best care.
Very disappointed this morning- had an appointment scheduled for 8am, only to arrive at the office with a sign on the door that said the office would be opening at 10am for holiday hours. I did not receive ANY notification that my appointment was canceled or the time would need to be changed (but did receive a “Thank for you visiting!” text around 9:30). I now have to wait another month until I am able to be rescheduled. Poor communication, and very frustrating.
Love this place. Everyone is kind, helpful, and professional, you don’t have to wait weeks or months for an appointment, and they do what they can to help you save money. Dr. Patel is amazing and an artist when it comes to teeth, he really cares about his work and his patients and it shows. Will come back again and again.
I was glad they could get me in. And fixed my issue. I just felt rushed to get out of the chair when he was done. Before it was even upright his assistant was telling me to go wait to pay. You just pulled a tooth out of my mouth can I just have a minute to relax and get my bearings? That is my only complaint. I would go again.
I took my husband to WD&D. He is a big baby.....a really, really big baby. He hadn’t been to a dentist in at least 10 years. He’s an OTR Truck Driver. His tooth abscessed last week in Florida. Our doctor called in script for antibiotic to a truck friendly pharmacy on his route. I called every where trying to find a dentist to see him as an emergency. I finally called WD&D. They had no problems getting him in as soon as he got home. They were friendly & patient during his mini meltdown. They even managed to get the tooth out after his lack of cooperation. I appreciate all you did from the bottom of my heart. He does too! In fact, the whole family is grateful! He’s quite cranky when he has a toothache. We’re going back in a month so the Doc can finish his exam, and establish a care plan. They got us in quickly, provided excellent professional care, and aren’t expensive. What more could you want?Ladies y’all did wonderfully! I know he’s scary when he’s loud and cranky, but he’s a big hard of hearing teddy bear. Be glad you didn’t have to draw blood, or start an IV.....that’s really something to see. Have a Merry Christmas, and a Blessed Winter Solstice. See you next month.
This place is absolutely fantastic!! Ive had some severely bad teeth an they welcomed me with open arms. These people are so nice an very caring. They get you in an out in a timely manner an make sure they go over your treatment plan an make sure you understand every option an everything they can help you with. Ms Mellissa Ratley is the Office manager an shes just amazing . Had I not met her that day idk whatd Id done with these teeth of mine. She made sure I knew everything I needed to know. The staff is great. Theres a lot of women on the staff an theyre some of the best!! I highly recommend going here even if you have perfect teeth, theyre very, very affordable an I doubt youll ever contact anybody better than them. Im so thankful an blessed to have went on a hunch an visited this place. Ill be forever grateful an will never forget the kindness of the staff here! I appreciate them more than ever!An my nurse Megan is the best ever!!! Without her too idk if I woulda made it thru. Im so thankful for her kindness an helpfulness an Ill forever thank her so much!
I was really nervous about going to a dentist. I chose Williamsport Dental and Denture because I saw good reviews about it. Previously, I had been to a large dentist office in Muncy. The.dentists at that office were horrible. After they told me it would cost $26,000 to fix my teeth, I left crying my eyes out. It took me two years to get back to the dentist. I was very nervous about going to Williamsport Dental and Dentures. I told the dentist that I was very nervous and he put me at ease instantly. He had a very gentle demeanor and he explained everything as he went along. Most of all, he did not make me feel bad because of my horrible teeth. Instead, he praised me for coming in and finally getting something done with them. I learned that I had to have four teeth pulled and 12 fillings put in and I needed partial dentures. This was about the same news that I got from the other dental place that told me it would cost $26,000 to have my teeth fixed. I was prepared to hear a large amount of money that I would have to pay in order to have my teeth fixed. But, I was pleasantly surprised when the receptionist told me that my final bill would be $1274.00. I honestly cannot tell you how happy I was to be at the dentist office. I would highly recommend this office to anyone including people who have tooth pain that need something taken care of right away. I would give 10 stars if I could!16m
I am a new client at Williamsport Dental and Dentures. My initial visit they did thorough set of xrays. The dentist did a review of my medical history and xray results. As I expected I need extractions and dentures, upper and lower. All the staff were very respectful and did a great job answering all my questions. Tomorrow I get the molds made and then we will schedule the extractions.
I had my dental cleaning here last 11/10. The dental hygienist on duty -am shift was terrible. I almost cried in the dental chair but i just dont want to make a scene in the clinic. For 30minutes, she cleaned my teeth without stop disregarding if i feel pain or what. I am even pregnant. I dont even think she reconsider it. The bib to protect my clothes from saliva was the same thing she used to clean my face. I was literally showering my face with my own saliva. I went to the reception area with my eye liner allMessed up. Nobody even told me until i went on in my car and saw myself in the mirror. I couldnt even say a thing during the procedure for i was in pain. Hence, this review. My first visit though for assessment was trully incredible, the dentist who saw us was very pleasant. However, we are planning to look for another dental clinic because of this horrible Experience from this dental hygienist. I wouldnt even consider having my family go through the same experience.
My experience at Williamsport Dental and Dentures was beyond excellent. The dentist was in my opinion actually magic for what she had to deal with in my case, the condition of my teeth, my nervousness, everything. I honestly went there with hopes for improvement at best but such care was taken that I now know I should have gone there long before now as my results are well beyond satisfactory. The office is efficient too and well maintained and the staff are professional kind, careing, knowlegeable; plus the onsite lab is talent- house in itself! Incredible work by everyone there. I am one happy client!
On a scale of 1-10 definitely a 10! Everyone is courteous and caring. I have had a major problem with pain and swelling and infection, resulting in a root canal. Although the problem itself was horrible, it was taken care of quickly and professionally. Everyone there is wonderful! I would refer anyone to go if you need a new dentist! THANK YOU ALL!
My husband was in terrible pain after having 4 teeth extracted....one wisdom tooth. He could not sleep for a week. He called, and they prescribed ibuprofen, it did not help, called again and they prescribed tylenol, it did not help. Went back in and they packed the tooth but the pain was still bad and they would not give anything stronger for pain. Then they charged us $799.00 for a Temp/Immed Acrylic Upper Partial to be worn after teeth were pulled. This appliance was definitely NOT necessary and a total waste of money. YOU DONT NEED IT! After this experience he decided not to return to this dentist. He had already pre-paid for implants....so he went back to the office on Dec. 6, 2018 and told him that he wasnt coming back and the reason why. He asked for a refund of $8,451.00 on his credit card. The office manager told him it could take up to 3 and maybe 4 weeks to process!!! WHAT A SHAME!!!! After waiting a month, and still no credit of the money back to our credit card, my husband called in on January 7, 2019, and left a message on the answering machine. Finally, after getting back to him the money was credited back to our card the VERY NEXT DAY! Very poor office management procedure and customer care.
This is, by far, the most customer service oriented dental office Ive visited! From the office staff to the dental staff, they are first-rate. They have payment options, which allows patients to get proper treatment even if they dont have dental coverage. They provide services which arent available in many dental office.
Had an appointment at 2:30 all I had was xrays.never got done till 4pm. Not very well at explaining things.. Its go and just sit down .the manager will be with you to dicuss your details of your visit.. My suggestion is to be ready to spend hours there.. I guess im more for a private dentist office.. I wouldnt suggest it due the mannerisms of the receptionist..
I was extremely nervous about visiting the dentist after 10 years of not seeing one. I was treated very kindly by everyone. I was first greeted by a sweet receptionist named Felicia, I then was taken back to the chair. I was so scared, I then met Kortney (a bubbly, blonde, sweetheart) she assured me I was in good hands with Dr. Bailor (who I now call Dr. B!, he is awesome). Together Kortney and Dr. B extracted 3 of my wisdom teeth. Kortney held my hand, she knew I was scared. They took such good care of me. I actually returned today for 3 fillings. I went in there with no fear whatsoever(less than one week after extractions)! I now know I am lucky to have this office and personnel as my dentist. Thank you dental and dentures and thank you Tony for having such wonderful staff!
I was in Williamsport on business and was referred to the Williamsport Dental & Dentures. I was only going to be in the area for 5 days and far from home. They were able to get me in on the same day and pulled my tooth before I left there. I had been in excruciating pain for two days and now, the day after, I have complete relief. Thanks for taking care of my needs on short notice.
My husband and I were traveling from Virginia to Lock Haven for a family medical issue when he started to experience an issue with a tooth. Called and left a message at 7:00 AM Monday morning. Never got a call back until Tues. at 9:30 AM. They advertise some day emergencies.
Well the doc is amazing treats u like a person but the what ever u call her she was very rude i try to tell her something an she said to me we got this we know what we are doing lets us do our thing like really u r no better then me treat your patience better do better
I am 55 years young and as I am adding to the list of aging Americans, I guess it is my turn for dental implants as teeth do not last forever. I live in Danville and this area does not have a lot to choose from in regards to dental implants. I have been trying to find the best and affordable place since May. After appointments in Bloomsburg, Danville, Selinsgrove and Shamokin Dam were unsuccessful, I decided to give Williamsport Dental & Dentures a try and I know that I found THE best! Everyone from check in kiosk to the financial specialist to the dental technicians to the dentists are outstanding people who deliver exceptional customer service! Choices and strategies were explained to me by the financial specialist that were not by my other appointments. From a very grateful and permanent customer!
Wouldn’t recommend this place at all!!!!! After waiting 30 mins past apt time still didn’t call bk so left being a new patient that determined that I was at the wrong place shouldn’t have to wait that long for exrays ridiculous.... I wouldn’t give no stars unfortunately it don’t allow that option!!!!!
Horrible. Waited for what felt like hours just to get jabbed with instruments that they wouldnt tell me what they did until they were done. I just went in to get a filling redone and they told me all these other things that needed to be done before they could even touch the filling.
I would no longer recommend going here stay away if you can Ive been going here almost 2 years now the work that Ive had done is okay but the dentist they hired dont seem to stay seems like a corporate run disasterIm kind of stuck right now cuz the only one in the area that takes my insurance seriously considering going out of network take my advice stay away

2022-06-06For a best weststern I found this one lacking in many areas, the floors were stained as well as the one office chair provided for two occupants. The entry way door was scuffed, the pool was not working for the four days we stayed here.Lighting was dim, bed mattresses were well worn and the bottom sheet on my bed was inside out.The front desk staff I found to be very courteous.

2022-03-15I have a lot of anxiety about the dentist, and went a long span of time without dental insurance and without seeing a dentist (about 15 years). Because of that long stretch, I was very nervous going into Williamsport Dental & Dentures--but I figured out pretty quickly that I did not need to be at all. Every single person I encountered from my initial phone call through the staff and doctors at my appointments have been so incredibly kind, supportive, and non-judgmental.In my first appointment, they helped me to 1) identify the issues I was having with my teeth, including issues I didnt know about, and 2) make a treatment plan that prioritized urgent issues and included lesser ones that could become a problem later. In consultation after my initial exam and x-rays, they were mindful and transparent about the cost and how we could use my insurance most effectively to address my treatment plan.In a second appointment when I was getting a cleaning and multiple fillings, everyone was thoughtful and reassuring and really prioritized making sure I wasnt in pain at any point. They were thorough and had multiple checks every step of the way, and even did an extra x-ray on a tricky tooth of mine mid-filling to make sure it was prepped correctly so my fillings would last a long time and not be likely to cause me issues later. Their scheduling and paperwork process is so easy, and they were able to get me in for multiple appointments in a short span of time.I really cant say enough nice things about these folks and the work theyre doing. Ive been telling all my friends and coworkers this too, but: if youre struggling with anxiety about the dentist or fear of being judged for your teeth/dental history, go here. :)

2022-06-09Beware....First visit is $99 + free x-rays. After thatthey will schedual you for a 6 month cleaning and tell you it will be $99. Once you show up they make you pay before being seen, but once you go back they will refuse to do the cleaning until you pay an additional $89 for an exam that they apparently require every 6 months. Im sure its in the fine print somewhere, but this seems strange to me. Why not just say before hand a cleaning also requires an exam and its $190 total?Dont get me wrong the work is good and my teeth have never looked better, but this type of shady business practice will make me think twice before returning.

2022-09-19I am so frustrated with this company. I scheduled an appointment with them to see about my wisdom teeth. I had to call the morning of to reschedule my appointment, NOBODY answered the phone, the voice-mail told me someone would call back within two hours to help my problem. That was last week and I havent heard from anyone since. Absolutely terrible communication and customer help. Actively looking elsewhere to have my wisdom teeth out.

2022-07-14They are the most wonderful and caring staff there. They did a great job on my dentures. I recommend any one to go there for dentures or any kind of dental work. Thank you to the staff and dentist for the great work you do there. God bless.

2022-08-11I was in severe pain. I walked in and was able to be seen that day, not only that Dr. Scharfe gave me a root canal the same day, to help me with my pain. I cannot say enough how grateful I am that the staff was so nice & accommodating. Dr. Scharfe rocks!!! Im not a fan of the dentist and honestly so upset about having to get a root canal in the first place from something that another dentist did to my tooth that did not hurt or have issues prior to this. However, the office & everyone there made you feel like it was important to help correct the issue and explain what was going on. Also Dr. Scharfe even called to check on me.Cant wait to get my crown. 😀

2022-06-02I hadnt been to a dentist in a long time because of insurance issues. During that time I had a tooth break and developed several cavities. So far Ive had a cleaning, x-rays, the broken tooth repaired, and some of the cavities repaired. Everyone Ive dealt with at the office has been very kind. I havent faced any judgement about the condition of my teeth.

2022-01-29Best dentist around. Within 2 weeks I was losing my dental insurance due to changing jobs. They got me in multiple times to do multiple fillings and partial plates top and bottom. Any problems they are ready to get u back in for adjustments and any other problems u might be having. I definitely recommend this dentist to my friends and family. Wonderful place.
