We booked our room months in advance under a wedding block. We were able to choose our check in time so we selected 1 o’clock, as the wedding was at 4:30. I got a confirmation email saying the check in time 4 o’clock. I called the week of my reservation to ask about this and I was told to check in at 2 o’clock. We arrived at 2 o’clock and our room was not ready. We were put into a queue and told “hopefully we get you in before the wedding time.” Got our room at 3:15, they gave us the wrong room, we had to go back to the lobby and get to our right room by 3:30. The last shuttle for the wedding left at 4. The hotel was clearly over booked as they had what appeared to be 5 other wedding blocks for that weekend. The room itself was fine, however there was orange mold around the top of the shower. I don’t recommend this hotel.
The owner is mad because they have the audacity to claim the rooms are clean yet failed to acknowledge any of my other complaints. You encourage people to search me? Im sorry but we have freedom to criticize anyone in this country weather you like it or not. Better yet just to prove how in denial you are I will be more than happy to be posting pictures of the condition our room was in upon checking in because I took plenty. I would also encourage anybody that would believe a review that was intended to insult somebody who is clearly dissatisfied rather than try to rectify their issue to stay at any other hotel in the Philadelphia I also noticed that this wonderful manager/owner only responds to either extremely glowing reviews or ones of criticism which I find absolutely pathetic.
Wonderful refresh and redo of the old depressing Holiday Inn, this hotel is beautiful. The people who work here are friendly and helpful, it’s an excellent bargain. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the walls are so thin I can hear the person in the next room breathing. But other than that it’s great.
Very disappointed, they dont clean the rooms or replenish things like shampoo or coffee or towels. It saves them money I guess but I wish someone would have told us. There were also water stains on the ceiling. Location is nice and beds were comfortable, pool was a nice add too. over all would not recommend it.
I really tried to give this location a higher rating. The staff were great, but we felt that corners are being cut. We encountered peeling paint along the walls and ceiling, missing smoke detector, peeling wallpaper, lack of USB ports, non working plugs , bad smells in the hallway, a non operational ice machine....and no shampoo. There was literally none in the entire hotel. Additionally, the COIN restaurant, youd be advised to eat somewhere else. Three items on the limited menu were out, this was a Sunday night. Breakfast we waited a half hour for plates of french toast- that cost us nearly 40$. Broken down thats 8$ per slice. 4$ for a glass of milk and 4$ for a coffee. The only plus was the bed. 4 star rating? Nope.
The location was amazing, and the staff was friendly, but the room was pretty terrible. Despite being a smoke-free hotel, our room reeked of smoke. The front office couldnt give us a new room, but they gave us this stuff to spray the carpet with. It smelled good but only covered the scent. The room was also incredibly tiny (the width of the king bed and 2 nightstands) and in its own tiny back hallway. There were quite a few dust bunnies, so it hasnt been deep cleaned in quite a while. Next time, well probably just opt for an airbnb.
Positive: This hotel is in the Historic district a few blocks from independence hall and Liberty bell, close to the hop on hop off buses, market street restaurants and Penn Landing¿ Great for walking around in the old city. Negative: You have to pay quite a bit for parking. Almost 40$ nightly. It was worth that for us as we left the car in the garage so we didn¿t have to pay other parking garages or for parking on the streets. The bathroom was showing some need of repair.
Let me start out with the pros. Their beds are nice, the place looks decent, and they do what they can with the building. The lobby is nice. The restaurant in the lobby is great. On the other hand, the building is extremely old and run-down. The toilets flushed really loudly, I could hear the toilets flush next door. The internet didn’t work, I had to use LTE. We only stayed here because the Marriott was booked up, but I wouldn’t stay here again. This would be a 2 star if it weren’t for the restaurant.
Great hotel right in the historic district. So many things to do within walking distance. If you need a Uber everytime it was 2 minutes. There is a Starbucks right around the corner. The hotel is very nice and the staff are amazing. The room was great and the bed was so nice!! We took the train in but if you do drive there is on site parking, its $30 per day.The train came in earlier than check in so I called the night prior and asked if we could check in sooner, it was not an issue at all.I would recommend staying at this hotel.
I arrived very early and they provided me with free early check in, that was great. Staff was very friendly. The hotel is very well located - near tourist attractions, tons of amazing coffee shops just a couple mins walk away and tons of great restaurants to walk to. We had a room on the 8th floor and had a great view. Like other mentions, parking is around 40$ which is basically what every hotel around there charges. Only negative is that there is some obvious wear and tear in the rooms as they havent been updated in a while but nonetheless, the price to quality value for this hotel was great.
Not a bad hotel. It is located in a central location to everything in Philadelphia. Right around the corner from the big bus tour stop, independence hall, etc. As far as my rating, it isn’t a low budget hotel, but definitely isn’t a high end hotel either, hence the 3 star rating. The service was excellent and the room was clean. The decor could use an update (I.e. carpets, furniture, bathroom walls) I would recommend staying here.P.s. Prepare for a $50/night hold on your credit card for incidentals in addition to your room rate, plus $37/day parking fees.
I arrived at the hotel. As soon as I entered the lobby. A very nice lady greeted me in such a positive way. It surprised me. I think her name was (Vanessa). She proceeded to check me in and was very knowledgeable and positive as she went through the process. Her manager came out I conveyed my sentiments to him. I think his name was Arvel. My room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and positive interactions.
Positive: Check in was seamless. They validate the parking and allow you to take your car out as many times as you need without increasing the daily parking rate. The hotel is clean. The hotel has a snacks stand behind check-in but no vending. Negative: We were in room 843. The shower was inefficient at best. Barely provided any water pressure at all. The window unit that provided the heat let in equal amounts of cold air. Neither of these things take away from booking, but both should be addressed.
Its a nice hotel for the cleanness of the room and the lobby. Unfortunately I’ve left my black jean and my phone charger in there, I’ve called the hotel lost and found for two days and no one had ever pick it up, it always direct to voice mail, please please just call me back if the can find a way to return my things back, they are very important to me. otherwise I consider the service is really baddddd!
Second stay for business and it’s no better than the first time. It’s not terrible here but it’s not great either and I do not enjoy staying here. Yes it’s outdated but the internet problems, hair in the tub, and lack of working outlets are the real issues. Second visit same problems and there were more on the first one. Again, it’s not terrible but I’m getting motel vibes from what should be a hotel.
The best part about this hotel is the location. Its very easy to get to major attractions. The rooms are average, though the bathrooms are small by modern standards. The beds are comfortable and soft. As others have said, the parking is somewhat pricey but you do have in-and-out priviledges.I was disappointed that I requested adjoining rooms during my reservation and double-checked during pre-check-in (we were a little early) however, our rooms were NOT adjoining. They were beside one another but not adjoing. When I returned to the front desk, they said that was the best they could do. Either they screwed up or didnt want to tell me when I arrived that they didnt have adjoining rooms for me. Neither is okay.
Went as a group with several young children who were rooming srparate from adults. Called and confirmed several times that rooms were together they confirmed this several times until we arrived. Then, only had rooms on separate floors. Other than this hotel staff was friendly, and rooms were clean
Their eating accommodations need improvement. Dinner was good and out server, he was great for only being on the job for two days.Breakfast was not good. They didnt have some of the items on the limited menu. Our waitress was not personable and basically borderline rude. I would probably not stay there again.
Positive: Rooms were clean and comfy - Hotel employees at the front desk were so accommodating and friendly! Great location, very safe, parking in enclosed garage Negative: The restaurant Coins is insulting to vegans. The breakfast offering was called a skillet, but it was just home fries with 3 cut up unseasoned nuked meat balls. My daughter got the same home fries FREE with her meal for less money. Potatoes were burnt.
We booked a few weeks out via Priceline. For a Wednesday and Thursday we paid ~$180 a night plus parking. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. We aren’t city people so being able to park and walk was preferred. It was an easy Uber pick up and drop off location for further treks. We weren’t there long so we didn’t get to check out many of the hotel amenities but the pool and fitness center looked clean. Bring quarters for laundry if you plan on doing any!Pros:-room size was appropriate-friendly front desk staff-cleanliness-proximity to historic sites-easy parkingCons:-A/C in the room was loud (at least it worked!)-restaurant service (I didn’t take away for this because we I my went one time and it could have been a fluke but man was this waitress GRUMPYYY)
Positive: Parking in the premises Everything was near by, Liberty Bell, independence hall, ChinaTown, Hop on and Off Bus which took us to the museum of arts where Rocky¿s statue is, Reading Market, Campos, Luna Cafe, Mall etc. We really enjoyed the stay. Negative: The only thing that you can improve, as an outer towner is adding this to your address: it¿s located on 400 Arch Street between 3rd & 4th because the gps kept messing up so I had to go around twice till I found the entrance of the hotel
This place deserves 0 stars, I live in Philadelphia, got married in Philadelphia. Stayed here the night before my wedding, the room got locked, staff couldn’t get in. Said the only way to get in was to call the fire department w/ a medical emergency …. They gave us a new room and said we could get in the next day, woke me at 7am to say I could get in my room. Because again I was getting married….. all my stuff was locked in that room. The hotel manager was a robot, unapologetic, unsympathetic. I wish I could write how I really feel but I want everyone to know they should never stay at this hotel. Stay away. Don’t worry they comped one of the nights … HAHA the worst hotel.
Previously, I wrote a rather descriptive complaint about my dissatisfaction with this hotel. They put me in the room for a handicapped person in a wheelchair. It was a clearly a miscommunication. After reporting my dissatisfaction with that room, They put me in another room. Now I’m in another room minus the dirty curtain, bedskirt. .to be honest, they just need to redesign the rooms.
1 star is generous! Have been using this hotel since 2007. Have been very loyal to the property and workers. Hotel is close to independence mall and old city attractions. It is within walking distance of market Street. That said, I found a used mask under the bed at check in. There are no housekeeping services. Towels etc need to be obtained in lobby. They werent even able to provide a plastic spoon. The restaurant only serves sandwiches from about 5pm to 11:15pm. The service is terrible. Food is brought out all at once to become cold and hard. Servers hurry eating customers to cater to those drinking. Often they disappear completely. On 12/3 a male server loudly asked if I wanted salad INSTEAD OF fries and everyone stared as Im full figured! He brought check at 10:50pm saying he was leaving in 10 minutes without offering dessert. Once I paid I was ignored for almost an hour! Lobby agent only said she would put it in her report!Meals were $25-$30 and not worth that price or lack of service. I had a better meal for less eating take out! Eat take out or on market st!It is impossible to find a taxi outside hotel, and I was stranded at 3 attractions!12/4 there was a group of 5 people UNMASKED in lobby, going into pantry touching Food packages! Nothing was said! There are signs in the lobby requiring masks to be worn!Out of frustration I decided to leave a day early. Upon asking if I could without incurring a charge the lobby agent never asked if there was a problem! She offered to change reservation insisting I tell them my plans which I was planning to do! I had to pay extra to change my ticket! I informed her afterwards saying as a reward member I was leaving at 1pm. She said she would change the reservation. I ended up eating take out that nite. The next day I was awoken at 11:40 am by housekeeping asking when I was leaving. I reiterated 1pm. 12:20pm a man knocked asking the same thing! I called the lobby and the agent was rude, asking who offered that time. I told her I told them the nite before. She rudely said reward check out was 12:30pm. When I told her this was not relayed to me, she offered to change the reservation. I told her it was done previous nite. She sarcastically said people knocking were just the ones who clean the room!At check out she apologized and said rewards check out was 12:30pm. There was now a $25 charge from 12:30pm until 2pm. This policy was not communicated to me nor was there a sign! After that it was a full nite which I told her I knew! I again tried to address the restaurant and was quickly dismissed! She offered me a receipt and when I said that I hoped there wasnt a $25 charge she said no. Hotel is on the expensive side and not worth the price. Still fighting with rewards and company to address these problems. Center city had tons of hotels. Will probably book somewhere else next time!
Positive: The Coins restaurant. Negative: The fact that the hotel was listed as swimming but the pool was a rooftop pool that wasnt open. Extremely disappointed with that. And the first night we were there, there were 20+ cops in the lobby arrest a very aggressive male. I feared for our safety.
Positive: The exterior of the aging Wyndham may show up on the next post of ugly buildings, but the staff, location, and rooms shine above. Negative: Hey its parking in downtown Philly, no Im not a fan of paying $35 to park, but honestly for the location, you can¿t complain.
No room service (covid excuse to provide less service at a higher price), inadequate towels, only one caffeinated coffee pack. Phone did not work to call Reception about a clogged sink. Price surged before I could book, almost double the original price over night. The only reason its 3 stars Id because the staff were super nice, and it had a nice view of the cemetery.
Positive: The entire staff is understanding, cheerful, accommodating and efficient. The entire hotel is very clean. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar called Coins for the food and drink. Very close to historic sites. Negative: The room heater/AC unit was a bit noisy. The price of parking was a shock, $37.50 a day. I should have checked free parking when booking.
Positive: In out privileges on the parking garage the staff was extremely friendly and helpful Sharon on the evening shift along with her coworker I forget her name ( Im so sorry) they were both extremely helpful professional quick. Negative: TV cable situation was a little bit lackluster and housekeeping could be a bit better.. look under the furniture behind the furniture under the bed, overall clean place clean sheets not disgusting but good vacuum could fix especially in times of covid
It is downtown Philadelphia. Its on the corner of 4th and Arch. Fire house across the street. Rooms are small but if you just want to sleep the bed was very comfortable. The staff was pleasant but invisible. I was there Christmas Eve and Christmas day. They have a little chill out place past the front desk on the right after coming in. It may be a bar. I saw some people gathered there Christmas Eve night.Very quiet place.
A nice getaway over Thanksgiving for my family of four. Location is great, in the heart of the historic districe. Steps away from Betsy Ross House, Franklins house, and Independence Hall.Room had a HUGE TV, a dorm-sized refrigerator, and a coffee maker with both coffee and tea supplies. Plenty of electric outlets to plug in chargers for four family members devices.Check-in time was listed as 4 pm, but our room was not ready until after 7 pm. Bathroom ceiling had quite a bit of water damage. Other than that, the room was clean, beds were comfy, and everything worked properly. It would have been nice for the room to have a map of the neighborhood, including historic sites and nearby restaurants. We figured out how to navigate the neighborhood on our own, but the hotel could have been more helpful in providing information for travelers without having to inquire the busy staff at the front desk.
Updated for 12/24 stay: Staff / Security / Room / Food a main reason my Christmas Eve was Perfect! Very professional / friendly staff. Security: Safety of guests / staff obvious main priority. Food: excellent (burger / fries / breakfast). Room: clean, spacious, bed very comfortable.I used Wyndham points for both stays (06/26 + 07/03). 1st part I loved: the security! Either being buzzed in by front desk or using room key.The front desk was beyond amazing. My second trip, timing very tight. Walked in, within 2 minutes, on elevator to my room. 1st visit: slight glitch, apologized to front desk for any attitude. Very professional and friendly. Even provided a good place to get a cheese steak. The room was almost perfect. 1st visit: between room / front desk, immediately recharged for the evening.Bartender, very friendly and provided a great idea for food, 45 minutes before they closed.Pool: did not use, area clean and water clear. The wall could have been a little lower, not a big deal in the slightest.Parking: on site, traveled via bus, can not comment.Definitely recommend this hotel!!!! Location is great, not that far from city hall. Heart of historic district. Easy walking distance to Penns Landing / Love Park and much more. Staff: beyond excellent!!!!
Positive: The hotel is in a great location for wandering the city. It is clean, comfortable and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Negative: Due to the pandemic housekeeping does not service your room and who realizes they need a fresh washcloth until theyre getting in the shower.
It did the job for an unplanned stay. Was clean and the front desk was very friendly. Tracy the bartender working Saturday night was wonderful. Very friendly and made a very long work day not seem so bad. The walls were very thin however so alarms and neighboring guest could be heard.
It’s the cheapest hotel around for a reason. There was a fight happening next door to us with a women screaming at the top of her lungs for help. I called front desk and they sent a security guard. I looked out my peep hole and saw him walk by and say “I don’t see shit” and just walk away as people were still screaming inside the room.Spend an extra $50 and get a full nights sleep.
Positive: The location was great, next to so many great attractions. Negative: It wasnt very clean. The bathroom floor was dirty, used shampoo bottle in the bathroom, trash in the elevator and garage. The staff was mostly nice but when checking in one person was rude. It was very noisy with guests yelling in the halls.
Worse experience ever at any hotel. Hallways and elevators completely unacceptable. They smell of mold and very dirty. Front desk staff could care less about any concerns. Hotel is not safe, do NOT stay here. Checked out after first night due to security entering one of my adjoined rooms thinking I had left. When confronted , security said he found the door open ... And he admitted swiping his card for entry to ensure my safety. Well if the door was ajar, why did he need his security key card to enter. If that wasnt bad enough, he ran down the stairwell to avoid me. I did give chase and confronted him. Front desk took his side and I was told if I didnt feel safe , then I should stay somewhere else. I am currently talking to parent company, yet they keep pulling down my reviews. To make matters worse, upon arrival and checking in, I heard another couple complaining about same security guard entering their room.Front desk and security are running a very dangerous scam. They are robbing people when the rooms are unattended. Never again. I recommend Doubletree by Hilton. They took us in and did a great job on all levels.DO NOT STAY HERE!
I have contact your manager Arvel, it’s been three days and I still, couldn’t dialed in, even I tried to call three times a day, always transfer me to voice mail. Also I have leaved my message and phone number, and the reservation name which is Ye. So this time, there won’t be any problems for contacting. You just don’t wanna give back my things!!! And believe me, I’ll never stay in the hotel in the future.I don’t understand why your hotel systems is this bad!!! And I won’t stop commenting and complain until I got my things back.🙂
Clean, safe, great location. It is noisy if that bothers you. The loud fan went on and off constantly until we figured out how to manage it. The fire station actoss the street is also loud sporadically. I think the windows are just old and not insulated. But the ability to walk from here is amazing. No car needed. Front desk team was great!
Positive: Location Negative: Front desk staff was horrible - specifically Vanessa - who has been reported to the manager. Each day she was repeatedly snarky, ignorant and problematic. After paying for my room, she said she would have security throw me out. I will not stay there.
Very confused by some of these negative reviews. The location cannot be beat. Quick walking distance from all of the great sights! Not sure what the negative comments are about the rooms being outdated- I totally disagree. Rooms were great and clean. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Was able to check in early and request late check out with no problem. Definitely recommend!
This hotel is really unimpressive. The rooms are very small. The amenities are outdated and underwhelming. A prepackaged croissant costs 7$ (a cup of coffee is 3…) parking isn’t included and isn’t easily accessible. the staff is relatively friendly but I regret accepting this as my accommodation. Mediocre.
The service was great, but the room was not 100% clean. The bathroom needs an update and a good scrubbing. The sheets need to be changed once they have stains that cannot be removed. There was hair around the outside base of the toilet. The Wyndham name means nothing anymore!
Positive: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. Negative: The bathroom was small and old, specially the shower. Washing your hands or face would cause a lot of water to splash on the vanity counter. The hotel seems to attract guests with some questionable behaviors. Not 3.5 stars
Positive: It was close to downtown Negative: The rooms were so small and disappointing for the price. There was a constant rattle from the air unit. I feel they need to be updated. When I asked if there were any updated rooms they said they were not allowed to update due to Covid
Positive: I can say nothing good about hotel, pronounce ho-tel. Nothing what I expected,if they would have say hotel parking was $32 per day, I would not have stayed, if they said no maid service, no daily cleaners, no replenishments of towels , soap, toilet paper Negative: Not without request, I would not have stayed, late night noises , I had to change rooms , nobody compensated me, I over heard the same complaint and they were comped parking fees, I was not issued the same. I did not make any noise,I will never stay there
Wonderful hotel. To be honest, its old had its plumbing problems as well as other structural issues you have in a 100+ old building. But the staff more than makes up for it. Arvil the day manager is one of the most professional people I have ever met. He will see to all your needs and make sure your every needs are fulfilled. There is no need for a concierge as long as he is there. In fact, he should be running the place. Sarah, usually in the afternoons is a breath of fresh air. She makes everyone feel special. Even Marty and Danni who are engineering and maintenance go out of there way and do work that is not in there job description to help the guest out. In these modern Covid times this staff has done all they could to make ones stay as comfortable as possible with sticking with all safety restrictions. This is a tough tightrope to walk but they do an admiral job.
Was very disappointed in the room. Room was filthy. There were toe nail clippings on the carpet, stains on the sheets, rust color and yellow stains on the walls. There was a dried toothpaste stain in the bathroom. There were crumbs from a prior guest’s food on the desk. No garbage bags in garbage cans. Seems like the room had not been thoroughly cleaned or vacuumed in some time. Shampoo was not provided. Gave 2 stars because the staff was pleasant and the location was good. Would not stay at this hotel again.
Very friendly front counter staff! $35 a night to park, and the outer layer of curtains in the room dont close all the way and blackout the room. The inner layer is the only one that moves on a track and is very thin, this let in a tremendous amount of light during the night from street lamps and other buildings. Otherwise up to standard of a relatively nice hotel
Positive: Ease of check in was nice and parking was convenient (although expensive) Negative: There were firstly towels in our bathroom and the air conditioner wasn¿t working properly. I¿m not a complainer and we were only staying one night so I didn¿t make a big deal about it but it wasn¿t worth what we paid for it.
Hotel downtown Philadelphia. It had great reviewsBut our stay was everything but greatRooms were dusty from lack of useNo housekeepingNo cleaningNo garbage disposalNo communicationVery high garage fees without any noticeI had children with allergies we had to change rooms, for cleanings purpose.Fire station across the street, multi alarms going off in the night time, noSanitizingI am paying a lot of money to stay here, I am complaining about all the poor condition we had to deal with their is no 1-800 number to call if we have issues!I was not satisfied with accommodate, Im very mad my wife and children had to deal with it.
Nice hotel right in downtown historic Philly. Close to all the sites. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Pool is a little small, but otherwise was really happy with the stay there. One negative is that you get charged for parking overnight in their parking garage. Overall a decent place to stay.
Positive: The vicinity Negative: The staff was not accommodating. The curtain were ripped. The room was not very clean especially the toliet. Which I clean , thank goodness I walk with my own cleaning supplies. The restaurants food was nasty. My biggest comolaint was no hot water.
Positive: Microwave in room Negative: Yes my check in time was after 4 I arrived at 5:40 and my room wasn¿t ready until 8:30 and I had two children with me that were tired I had to wait in the lobby. While waiting homeless woman kept coming in walking around the lobby ¿ the lobby smelle
Overall, my impression of this property was that it was a clean comfortable place to stay. While it gives the impression of a mid-level business hotel, it is run more like a Days Inn. The location is great but for the level of service it provides the room price should be lower.
Did 2 stay-cations at this location! The staff is amazing, they always go above and be beyond. Be patient with the outstanding staff, common courtesy goes a long way. After all, it is tourist season in Philadelphia they do great work. Special shout out to front desk folks....Manager Arvel, (Director of rooms), Vanessa, Rolando, Jerrie, Katrina, and Sarah. Always a pleasure to see your faces! Housekeeping staff you are delight as always. Thanks to everyone!
My son and I stayed here on 8/20/20 to 8/23/2020 and we had a very pleasant stay. This hotel is very clean and their staff is really helpful. We were within walking distance of so many historical sites that Philly has to offer. There are also many restaurants and shops along the way as well. Our room was very clean, comfy beds and the bathroom fixtures have been updated. The positives outweighed the fact that they charge $35 a day to park, but I recognize that we were in a city and parking isnt cheap at all. The free wi-fi was slow and staying connected was troublesome, but all in all I would stay here again.
Positive: The front desk staff was PHENOMENAL - they were friendly and helpful. Negative: Housekeeping did not come to the room at all during my 4 night stay unless I called for towels and room was never freshened. We had to take our own trash out to the closest bin which was in the parking garage (bring your own bags). Parking VERY expensive.
Positive: The manager and the staff were amazing. We had an issue and the manager took care of it right away. Negative: This hotel smelled of marijuana everywhere except the lobby. There were people smoking marijuana at the pool. We even found a smoked joint next to our trash can when we checked in. We alerted the manager of all of the issues and she immediately handled.
Mold in the shower, dirty walls, and spider in the shower that built a web. Not to mention the toe nails littering the halls on multiple floors, and there were blood stains in the Laundry room floor. Terrible stay, you can see that housekeeping does not clean the entire hotel, waste of money.
The hotel is clean, the rooms are pretty big. Yes, the rooms and all the hotel basically pretty old and you can notice that, but it doesn’t so big deal.In addition, the gym in the hotel is great, and the staff were friendly. There is no room service during coronI really recomend visiting this hotel when visiting philadelphia, the location of the hotel is really good, just near the liberty bell, and the historic district
I chose this hotel for the fact that it was never more than a ten minute walk to the attractions that I wanted to visit. Check in was fast and easy with the clerk behind the desk being friendly and welcoming. There is a parking garage beside the hotel and you can pre-pay for parking. Rate was $37 a night, not bad considering where it is located. For the week I stayed it was $180. Each time you get a ticket you can get it validated at the front desk, if you have pre-paid. Room was clean and smelled good. Windows were a little dirty on the outside, marring the view a little; but it had rained the previous day. Nice big 55 TV, coffee maker and a mini fridge. The fridge did freeze some of the drinks I put in there but it was only one time, something to be aware of. Bathroom was clean with no mold or mildew seen. The tub/shower did hold water when you were taking a shower but it never got anywhere near the top of the tub, above my ankles was as far as it got. It drained slowly. At the time I stayed, there was no daily maid service, COVID-19 precautions. There is a note at the front desk and the person checking you in does tell you this. What they didnt tell you is that you can put your used wash cloths and towels in the laundry bag and set them outside your door in the hall and they will be picked up. My suggestion is to bring extra bags with you if you are staying for an extended time. You will have to stop at the front desk and ask for more towels and wash cloths. Staff was always friendly and willing to help. Checking out was fast and efficient, fastest Ive ever checked out. All in all, Im happy with my stay and would stay again if I am ever in Old City again. My rating is actually 4.5 out of 5 for a couple of reasons listed below. There is a restaurant in the hotel and I ate there a couple of times. Food was good, hot and to order. My only gripe is that it was a little on the expensive side. Unless you are really tired or hungry, there are less expensive options nearby or a few minutes walk away. Staff was helpful and friendly. If you leave something behind in your room and email the hotel, it may be a couple of days before you hear back from them. I left a charging cord behind and they got back to me two days after I emailed them. They offer a link to a company. ILeftMyStuff, that will process your claim and get back to you. They offer you the option to send the item back, pick it up, dont want or not my item. A word of caution: If you choose to have the item sent back, you have to pay for shipping. I refused to pay for them shipping it back so I declined it. Cords are cheap enough. If you are thinking about visiting Philadelphia and will be staying in Old City, I recommend staying at the Wyndham. It was nice to be able to walk to everything I wanted to see and not have to worry about trying to find parking. It is also a six to nine minute drive away from Camden, New Jersey, via the Benjamin Franklin Bridge; so there is more close by to explore.
First room had mold all around the window and ceiling. It was super small like i was in a hotel in NYC. Changed rooms. Second room smelled like someone smoked countless cigarettes then just sprayed old lady perfume to hide the smell. Third room smelled like fresh paint which is better than cigarette smoke. Our tub is light blue. Pretty dated. The lobby looks like the hotel rooms would be nice. Nope wrong. SMALL rooms. Would I recommend this hotel? No.You’re better off going to a motel 6.
Excellent hotel overall and great sabbath arrangement. We love coming here for the synagogue next door, Mikveh Israel. Clean rooms and great staff. Thanks to the front desk personnel, and to the manager Arvel for very courteous, respectful service and to Danny for watching our stuff, and to each of them for helping us out graciously when needed.
This hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do while in Old Philadelphia. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their city and willing to share directions, food options, and local activities. Due to the pandemic, room service was not provided, but the front desk did give us room supplies happily upon request. I appreciated the grab-and-go breakfast option since the hotel doesnt serve breakfast. We also appreciated the on-site parking for a daily fee (expected in a large, downtown hotel). We could access the car any time and could come and go multiple times a day from the garage at no extra charge beyond the daily rate.
Zero stars. This was the worst experience Ive ever had in a hotel. The first room was made up but obviously not clean. We were moved to a different room. We went straight to the pool to relax. There was standing room only in the pool and the pool deck, not very relaxing. The walls and beds started shaking at 1:00 a.m. due to a loud party in the room next door. The party was still raging at 4:00 a.m., after several complaints to the front desk and the room next door. When checked out at 4:15 a.m. and watched 2 men brawling right outside the front entry doors. Worst hotel experience ever.
The only thing nice about this hotel was the lobby. The rest of the hotel was a complete disappointment. The hotel room was disgusting with dirt on the walls, the bathroom was scary to shower in, there were holes in the bedsheets. The hallway carpets were old and gross. I would not recommend this location until they clean and update their rooms.
Bonus star because the front desk team was so friendly. This place needs to do some updates and clean bit. Was looking for a medium to upper priced place for a special treat close to the historic district and felt the Wyndham name was a good brand, maybe just not this one. Bathroom specifically had stains on the door, floor tile grout may not have been cleaned in years, mold central. Was disappointed.
Staff - very friendly and helpful.Pool - small but clean and fun.Room - Curtains that are to designed to NOT close. Crazy but true - can’t close the curtains and there was a bright light right outside our window - had to place a chair with a pillow on top in front of the window to keep light out of our eyes. So weird and frustrating!
I was told when I initially made the reservation that our room will have a roll away bed. I called a couple of days prior to my arrival to confirm that I will get a roll away bed. During check in, I was told that I would get a roll away bed. This was the main reason I booked this hotel, not everyone can sleep in a shared bed. Three confirmations later and I’m told a roll away bed does not fit in the room, and nothing can be done about it. Absolutely nothing was done for this big inconvenience. They did not care. The hallways and elevator have a nasty stale smell. There was hair all over the bathroom, stains on the shower Curtains and linen, the rugs in the room were dirty. The employees were unprofessional and not friendly. I will never step foot in this hotel again!!!
The hotel lobby was nice. After that it was all downhill. Checked in and the room was very dirty. Not cleaned at all - bathroom had hair on the floor and there was food on the floor. Called down and they gave us a different room - still dirty and the bedsheets had some kind of stain on it. Asked to speak to the General Manager and had to leave my name and number - still waiting for a call back. We asked to cancel and get our money back - still waiting for the refund to come through.
It was definitely a pleasure staying at the Wyndham Philadelphia-Historic District property, which is in the heart of historic Philadelphia and walking distance to all of the historic sites. My overall experience was excellent and I enjoyed a working weekend. After several months of sheltering in place and working at home, my sincere thanks to the staff for a pleasant weekend. Very professional and polite, especially Mr. A. Hall who was very efficient and accommodating in rearranging my reservations over the phone. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant and efficient in handling the guest checking in. My room was beyond expectations, the housekeeping staff was efficient and attentive. It felt good to be around people that take pride in attending to others and I am looking forward to returning. Even with the restaurant and pool closed, I would rate my stay as a 9.0. Thank you again, Mr. Hall and staff, and stay safe. D. BakerDate of stay: October 2nd and 3rd, 2020
Planned a quick trip to Philly for my family. If you’re like me, I read reviews on many hotels in the area I’m visiting. After doing research, I decided to go with the Wyndham because of its close proximity to sites I wanted to see, parking on site, and I’ve normally had a great experience at Wyndhams. So happy I booked our two-night stay there.•••••Front desk staff are amazing— shout out to Terry and Arvel! They are professional, friendly and super customer service oriented. They care about guests, take pride in their hotel and what they do. The lobby is very clean and nice. Security is great in evening hours.••••••Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable (I always looks at the comforters and sheets even in pictures online). I got a King room that had a fridge and microwave. The shades do close to keep light out. I read in a previous review that someone didn’t have room darkening shades. Well they are the first layer against the window so look behind the fancy curtain (they’re easy to miss).••••••••••••The bathroom was outdated with a baby blue tub and I did see a small tile coming off the wall by the toilet but that didn’t bother me. Other than that it was clean. I didn’t plan on spending my day in the bathroom.••••••••••••Of note, the hotel is independently owned so some things you may see at other Wyndhams may not be offered here. Parking is a little expensive but I needed to drive and not worry about my car so it was worth it. But don’t let that take away from great hotel staff, clean rooms, comfy beds, a restaurant/bar onsite as well as parking. I’m booking this hotel again next time I’m in town.
Overall horrible cleanliness. Sheets were dirty pillows had blood stains. And its not like the hotel sent a housekeeper to change them out, no they just gave us the sheets so we could do it ourselves. But the worst thing of all we found some shoes from the previous guest in the corner.. shoes!!! So that tells you how great of a job they did cleaning prior to our visit. If they failed to find shoes in plain view what else did they miss
I will start off by saying that the front desk staff were incredibly polite and helpful. Also the beds were very comfortable. Now on to the what was not great. First off all, when you check in, you are told that there is a $37 fee for parking. This is not listed on the webpage, nor does it state it when you make the reservation. The water took 10 minutes to get hot for a shower, and you had to slam the bathroom door closed. The elevators were a little scary because of the sounds they made as you were going up or down. Also, there was no breakfast offered. I would definitely find a different hotel were I to visit philadelphia again.
Philly is expensive. Theres no way around it. For TWO days at this hotel I paid $370 for the room and $75 for parking. Parking is in a garage attached to the hotel. Pay with your hotel bill for a cheaper rate. The location is perfect. Right in the middle of everything. We were able to walk everywhere. We even walked across the bridge into New Jersey. There is shopping and restaurants within steps. All the attractions are very close to the hotel; right around the corner. Chinatown is also walkable and has a billion options for authentic food. The hotel is generally clean and attractive. The elevator we entered to reach the 4th floor was missing its 4 button. Our room was very comfortable with firm beds. We were excited about the pool but due to rain they closed it. There is also a sit down restaurant and grab n go snacks in the lobby.Philadelphia has a HUGE homeless population but during the day they dont come near the hotel. If youve never been to Philly you should be aware of the above referenced homeless, the extreme urine smell around the streets, and the general dirtiness of this historic city. Its sad in every way.
This hotel is very outdated. I had no hot water throughout different periods of the day especially first thing in the morning. When I called the front desk they sent the engineer and he said if there had one working tank and trying to fix the other so if too many people are using the water it would cause this issue. I would not recommend staying at this facility especially for the price that they are charging.
Positive: Location. Located near the major attractions in the old city. Negative: Outdated. We had to change rooms twice because of the very poor cleaning standards and bad smell. Everything looked very old and dirty. We couldnt sleep because of the loud noise coming from the machinery located outside our window (A/Cs?)
No breakfast and then was asked if I could get some coffee out of the Keurig the guy added water and the water was all moldy it was disgusting. So did not get any coffee that morning or breakfast I dont think they believe in food. All they want is rent high-end for one night
Positive: The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring in downtown Philadelphia. The on site parking wasnt too expensive. Negative: The room had issues but it was only 1 night. It smelled moldy/musty. The smell didnt go away after turning on the air. The bathroom had issues with the shower; it literally took 26 spins of the handle to turn on the water and the temperature fluctuated.
The Wyndham is in a beautiful part of town, but that is the only beautiful aspect of this hotel. The inside lobby was fine, but once you enter the out dated elevator, it takes you to a more out dated hotel room. Our room was dirty, had broken fixtures, and the water did not work properly.
Someone was complaining about cleanliness as we checked in and I thought “he’s probably just complaining to complain” boy was I wrong. Bed barely made, stained towels, missing toiletries (conditioner)… It felt like someone gave our room a 10 second walk through before we checked in. Phones don’t call to the front desk. I would not recommend staying here.
One star at best. We stayed the weekend of July 4th, 2021 at 214 and 206. 206 room had bad smoke smell in the bathroom and the manager said that someone will take of the smell immediately and she doesnt have any other room to offer. When a maintenance dude showed up after quite some time, he said that he was told to spray but he cannot spray the bathroom. he left the sprayer for us to do the spraying. The spray didnt work and I attempted to call the costumer service number and no answer or someone hanged up. Bad experience, stay away...
I made my reservation last minute it was expensive but the hotel was ok. The phone , the room were not cleaned. The customer service varies from employee to employee. The parking expensive, We did not have cleaning stuff in the room had to request them. The location was good thats all. My girlfriend was not comfortable at all.
This IS NOT a 3-star hotel, no way. Room is reminiscent of a quality inn. The TV is nice, and the location is nice, but that’s it. Had an old AC unit in the room that I turned ALL the way down and yet I still woke up sweating. For the price they ask, I would really recommend going to an actual 3-star.
Positive: Location was close to interesting historic sites; however, it is also right across the street from the fire dept which had alarms going off all day and through the night. Negative: It was very dirty. Carpet coming up and buckling in the hallways, mold growing behind curtains on the ceiling, AC unit covered in dried water stains, bathroom had pink splatters on back of door and corner of floor. Stains on carpet in room
We booked our stay at this hotel Wyndham and everything that we wanted to see was in walking distance like 7-15 minutes away which was a bonus for me to get as many steps in as possible. When we went to see Rocky we took an Uber and checked to see how far it would be to walk back which was 40 minutes and a beautiful day so we walked back. We plan to return soon.
Was there July 3 & 4 in room 735. Left my Louis Vuitton toiletry bag, have called and emailed hotel with no response! My bad that I left it but it didnt walk off on its own and it would be nice to get some contact from the Wyndham....Also rooms are dated and our view was terrible.
The room was filthy. Spider webs in EVERY corner. Plaster chipped of the wall and was on the floor. The bathroom was dirty. No one swept the bathroom floor. The shower/ walls were nasty. The fridge was dirty as all hell. The sheets and pillow cases had spots on them. It was just an unpleasant stay. Ive been to motels that were much better than this. Had it not been so late, I wouldve transferred hotels. I give it 2 stars for the lady that checked me in, because she was so nice.
Positive: Location was in the middle of the white history of this countrys government; also walking distance to river front. Negative: Fire department next door is LOUD. Traffic at night is LOUD (no ordinances about loud motors). Not clean - soap scum buildup in tub; potato chip crumbs & hair on the floor. Showers not fully functional so half the water comes out of the lower faucet.
There were stains on the beds in the room and beds were made pretty poorly. Tape all over the walls likely from balloons on the wall for a party. Called the front desk once to ask them to bring something to our room and they wouldn’t do it. I thought Wyndhams were nice but this hotel definitely changed my mind.
Good Hotel. Pretty desent room, but just a liiiiittle bit dated. Everything were clean and good, found couple long hairs in the bathroom but its nothing for me so:) The most attractive thing in my room was 8th floor with huge windows from the floor to the ceiling and I fall in love with that view! Overall it was really good stay. Thanks a lot🖤
Great service and impeccably clean room. Given they just opened up after being closed down for months during Covid Season, this hotel is running seamlessly. Hotels dont seem to be doing housekeeping, so we were prepared for that. The room itself is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed. Outlets and mirrors right where you need them, allowing two people to get ready at the same time. There was a fridge and microwave. The hotel has decided to remove the coffee machine. Sad decision on corporates part. Makes no sense how touching a community Kuerig ($2) is more hygienic than having one in the room to be cleaned after each stay. That is my one and only (trivial) complaint. The water pressure and shower fixtures are amazing. I have long hair and these things are important to me! The desk even has a smaller slide out desk that can be rolled out an used as a dining table. Parking structure is right on the property which is very convenient. We couldnt have asked for more! Stay here if youre visiting for historial tourism, as youre near everything, and away from the urban hustle and bustle. It should be noted the staff was beyond friendly and helpful.
There were needles in the room I stayed in last night. I moved the lamp and it was under it. When we told the front desk in the morning - his reaction was “o wow, that’s interesting. Sorry that happened” I sent him the photo to send to management. But common! How is this possible.
Perhaps the hotel is a bit dated. But theyre very clean rooms and the beds are very comfortable and the pillows are awesome. The air conditioner is loud but the room is very cool. The view out my window is of the cemetery, and if the leaves were off , I could see Franklin himself. However, it is the perfect location. Two blocks to Independence Hall. Next door to the mint.Good value.
I visited the hotel for a week for a work conference. It was nice in the lobby and common areas. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom clean. The conference session rooms were uncomfortably cold. I had to bring an oversized sweater and I was still cold. The days we had lunch catered by the hotel, the food was good. The front desk staff and service staff were really really exceptional. I would stay again.
The hotel had no knowledge of the Philadelphia Flower show, despite I booked the rooms thru the flower shows website and received the rate based on that event. The hotel charged me $700.00 in addition to the fully paid for reservation - claiming they had not been paid by the travel company - Im currently working with the hotel and discover to resolve this issue. I had a feeling this would happen, as the staff seemed to be ignoring me upon check-in and check-out I should have locked my credit card to prevent any additional charges.
DONT STAY HERE . They changed my first room because it was filthy. Then in room 2 I woke up to a bug in my face at 6 in the morning. The scent security for the bug, and he asked me to stop overreacting and threw the bug on the floor. Why would you throw a live bug on the d-/: floor. Needless to say I asked him to leave and checked out immediately
We stayed with the Visit Philly Package and it was our second time staying here. First, the location is wonderful. It is a short walk to all of the historic sites and the area is beautiful. There is a parking garage available for a fee, which was included in our particular package. We had a premium room and for the second time, I am confused as to what is actually premium about it. No views, very small, dark. The beds are comfortable. There was a billing error that was corrected as soon as I pointed out (it differed entirely from the reservation), it was only $14.00 but had I not paid close attention to the invoice, I would not have caught it. The site is very difficult to manage and I received no email (double checked my spam folder) to indicate my reservation was received or with any type of confirmation. Overall, not worth the price in my opinion and we wont be staying again.
This has been one of the best hotels weve ever stayed at. The rooms are comfortable and the AC units actually keep them cool. The lobby is great size and has very comfortable Furniture as well as very clean. The staff is very friendly. But only not that I have on this place is the $35 parking fee per day
Stayed here for a week. Nice clean room and friendly staff. Restaurant and bar were nice too. Why 3 stars? On my last day my co-worker and I were in the restaurant having lunch. All was good until a large mouse (baby rat?) wandered out onto the floor sniffing around for food and then headed back towards the kitchen! Server comped our meal but it was obvious by her behavior this was not the first incident. I ate at least 2 of my meals every day here, glad the rodent appearance happened during my last meal !!!
Let me first state that the staff was great. The hotel not so much. The rooms were small and dark. The bathroom was even smaller. We had to switch rooms since we did not have any hot water in the shower and the water would not drain. The room tvs are small, like around 24. The fridge is a good size. The room rates do not equal what you are getting. I would not recommend staying here.
My list of grievances are as follows:No breakfast included or availableParking is not included (35$)No coffee, tea or coffee maker in roomBathroom door doesnt latchOnly 1 cup in the room, in a 2 queen bed room...Positives:Near some historical landmarksBeds are acceptableClean & up scale
Really disappointed in our visit. No coffee in our room or in the lobby under the guise of safety guidelines to prevent covid, but you could sure touch that keurig everyone else touched if you wanted to pay $2.50 for a cup of coffee. I wouldnt have given them 3 stars except the young man that checked us in was exceptional and tried to do everything he could to make our stay a good one.
Looking at the other reviews, I have to wonder if my room is the exception. While the location of the hotel was exceptional, my room was incredibly small. It was a corner room but seemed about half the size of the other rooms. The floor was dirty, lights were not plugged in, tile in bathroom was loose and furniture was arranged to be impossible to use (desk had drawers facing the wall instead of facing out). The soda machine on my floor was out of everything and a 12 ounce soda from room service was four dollars plus mandatory 20 percent gratuity. Not what I expect for the price I paid.
Not bad but not great either. In a great part of the city but a reminder of why Airbnb just makes more sense when mid-tier hotels like this arent offering that much additional value to be worth the moneyMy King-bed unit had ediocre wifi and a non-smart TV which is pretty unacceptable in 2020. Saw a few yellow stains on the sheets and a few hairs.Furthermore, the hotel wouldnt allow me to late checkout even though it was barely occupied in my 3 days there. I left early and went to an Airbnb.
I didnt mind paying the $37/day for parking but the hotel was not clean. There were stains on the bed sheets and pillow cases. I had to remove one of the pillows because it looked too dirty. Also, there was no mention of the restaurant being closed even though I reviewed the website and called twice for information.
Check-in was a mess. I stayed for a conference recently and showed up at 4pm and was told they would call me when a room was available. Some guests checking in after me had received rooms. I never received a call and after calling the front desk at 8:30pm was told a room was available. Rooms were dated and nowhere in line with the rate. Buffet breakfast was overpriced and bland at $18 for food that is available for free at other hotels. Bathroom shower faucet was faulty and took 5-10 minutes to get hot water each day. Finally, the smoke alarm in the room was missing. This was a fire safety conference and I mentioned it to the desk clerk in the morning and it was not replaced during my 3 day stay. Would not stay here again.
Excellent accommodations. Very friendly staff. Special Temple Hospital Patient family room rates and special $5 parking. 4 Miles from Temple Hospital and 2 blocks from historic quarter. On-site bar, food and robust food/grocery store in hotel. I will definitely come again and thank the staff for patience while my daughter had surgery.
Good location but the bathroom was really dated and dirty. The tub had rust on its fixtures and the white enamel was missing large chunks. There was yellow stuff on the floor by the toilet and I dont think the floors had been cleaned in months. Really gross. I expected a lot better from a Wyndham.
Positive:- Amazing location within walking distance of most of the downtown attractions.- Extremely helpful and professional concierge and staff.- One of the best breakfast buffets I’ve seen at a hotel in a long time.Negative:- Parking fees are exorbitant and not clearly advertised.- The price of the breakfast buffet was a joke.Clear upfront communication about pricing would have earned an extra star.
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Thats about the extent of the good. The floors ice machine did not work, and the toilet leaked, causing the tank to periodically refill. As a light sleeper, I found this unpleasant. The morning I checked out, I went to eat breakfast and discovered that the breakfast buffet (no better than those served at far cheaper hotels) was a whopping $18 + tax. Additionally, the breakfast staff was quite rude.I was travelling for work, and did not wish to cause a scene, but I would not choose this hotel of own volition.
Located right in historic Philadelphia there is enough history in a stones throw to keep you occupied for a long weekend away. Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Christs Church all within a few minutes. The staff is attentive and efficient. We checked and the desk staff was personable and welcoming. Our room was clean and well made up. The bathroom is a bit smaller than I like, but its adequate. It was quiet and the temperature was comfortable. Overall a great place to stay. Simple clean rooms with a great location.
The location is good and staff is nice. Hotel is old and could use an update! Our hotel room was a bit grimey-stains on carpet, curtains, chairs, shower curtains. The room temperature is either hot or cold. Shower was luke warm-ugh;(. We will not be staying here again.
Cleanliness of rooms left something to be desired. They lost our reservation and didnt offer to comp anything. I had my entire family come in from out of town to stay here and it was so embarrassing. The air conditioning wasnt working in the lobby or bar, it was so uncomfortably hot and again, embarrassing. For the prices of the rooms, you would expect much better. Would NOT recommend. You could get better everything at the Holiday Inn.
A pretty good hotel in a nice location. The room itself was nice. A comfortable bed. Decent television. Plenty of plugs. The bathroom was the only negative. The bathtub surface was peeling off. I know its not harmful, but its just not a pleasant look. Youre a couple blocks from some historical cites - Franklins grave, Independence Hall and Mall, the Mint. The walk to the Convention Center was fine as long as the weather was decent. Theres also several decent bars and restaurants within a few blocks to the South and East.
I needed a room because I had jury duty and it was a short walk to the court house. My room was clean, the bedding was clean and the towels. Bed was comfortable but still not like home. Only thing I can say is I wish there were tissues in the room. The staff was helpful. I would stay there again if I ever have jury duty again.

2022-05-05Pros:The location is great.Street parking is available and free on Sundays and part of Saturdays.Coffee and tea bags in the bedroom is good.Lobby is pleasant.Receptionists are very knowledgeable and agreeable.Cons:Price: over $300 for a tiny room. The corridors, the bedroom, and the bathroom need to be updated. No ventilation in the bathroom. Our curtains had traces of water leak. For the price, we paid, we felt that cotton, pads, nail file, slippers should have been provided. Our bedroom window offered a view on a terrace with air conditioning units. The remote control and Internet were not working. At 8:30 P.M. we called for maintenance and no one showed up.

2022-01-06Good hotel. Spacious rooms. Got checked in earlier than supposed to, big thanks for that. Very clean , comfy beds. Location is great! Walking distance (3-5 min) from historical areaReason for 4 starts is that random housekeeper entered my room without any notice . Also I was bothered once by some bathtub issue which I didn’t have.

2022-05-16This place was great and Id stay here again. The staff was great, rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable. That said, some things could be updated (the elevator sounds/feels old, the ceiling in the room maybe popcorn, the carpet seems old, etc). But the location is great and I will consider this place again for the next trip.

2022-04-24Positive: The hotel was clean and convenient, with parking on-site for a reasonable fee. Climate control in the rooms worked well and the beds were comfortable. The shower was nice, with a good temperature and decent water pressure. Negative: There were a lot of little things: the phone did not work (in terms of calling Guest Services), the wifi was weak to non-existent, the breakfast was over-priced and not very tasty; late check-out was offered and rescinded.

2022-05-26Pretty terrible experience. The good:Great location: the hotel is in old city and is walking distance to many historic locations and great restaurantsThe bad:The service is terrible. Housekeeping didnt visit our room once. We specifically asked for a duvet cover and no one brought us one.The shower didnt work very well and switched between hot and cold water in the middle of the shower. Our bed had stains on it.The hotel and parking is very expensive for what it is.The hotel is understaffed. Front desk would constantly put us on hold or even not take our calls.Overall, the hotel is not great. Youd be better off finding a cheaper name brand hotel elsewhere if you didnt care where you were staying. However, if you want to be able to walk anywhere in Old Town, this hotel is in a fantastic location.

2022-06-21Positive: Proximity to all the things we needed for the weekend! Also, Felicity was wonderful! Hotel met our needs for 2 nights, and parking garage was very convenient. Negative: Other staff members were lacking in kindness and respect when dealing with guests in our party. Also, the lobby bar opened so late¿it would have been helpful if we could have met some friends there prior to wedding celebrations. The room was average!

2022-03-28I seriously never write reviews, unless I have a great experience. But this weekend was ridiculous. Rooms were fine, staff was friendly. The thing that really ruined our experience was the lack of house keeping. I absolutely take Covid seriously and I realize that waiting to clean the rooms until after checkout is a safety precaution. However- they need to provide an area to get rid of excess trash and towels. We had four people staying in our room- with take out food and showers everyday, that’s a lot of trash and towels. The rooms are pretty tiny so there’s no where to really put access towels or trash. We ended up having to stack dirty towels in the closet, and we had trash in corner- but it was awful!! We ran out of toilet paper and had to call down to the front desk for more towels and toilet paper (they don’t replenish ANYTHING unless you ask) and the staff had an attitude with me for wanting four more towels and ONE extra roll of paper. This hotel was not cheap and we expected at least the basics to be covered. On top of that parking is $40 a night (NOT included in the price of the hotel, but they won’t tell you that). We will not be recommending this place to anyone.Side note- do NOT eat at the coins restaurant. Thank me later. 🤮

2022-03-25For the location and price, we give it 5 stars. It’s not the fanciest or most modern hotel in Philly, but it’s great for a family trip into the city. Our double queen bed room was spacious and clean. This hotel is in a great location for visiting the historic sites and a short easy walk to Reading Terminal Market. It’s also great to have onsite parking with free in and out privileges.

2022-04-14Very nice hotel in the old city Philadelphia. Major destinations are in walking distances. The staffs are very good and friendly. Parking on site but you have to pay. It’s better to park here to be on the safe side. There is a restaurant inside. Downtown is also walking distance. The fire department is next to the hotel which can cause some noise disturbance particularly in night. Highly recommended.

2022-06-23The hotel was clean, bathrooms in the rooms could have been better but the beds were comfy! the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. $37 to park in the parking garage right on sight overnight. location was great in the historic district of Philly. behind the hotel is the cemetery where Ben Franklin is buried! I would stay here again.
