Ordered take out from here for the first time, everything else we got was delicious. Only big disappointment was the Pad Thai. Have had Pad Thai many times, from other places with a wonderful peanut sauce so we missed the fact that this one was made with tamarind sauce….Honestly tasted like noodles with ketchup. ***Called to question the flavor of the dish since we are very familiar with Pad Thai… (would say we get it like every other month so we expected the usual peanut flavor… hence why we didn’t read what was in the dish) We were told it was on the menu so therefore it was our misunderstanding… we were also told they are one of the few places that don’t use a peanut sauce. Wouldn’t recommend their Pad Thai dish if you like it with peanut sauce.
The food was yummy and reasonably priced. Its right across from the theaters and a couple doors down from a nice parking garage so it was convenient to not have to walk far in the cold. They have a lot of nice little touches that made us feel like we were in a high end restaurant but then the bill came and we were shocked at how low it was. It was the best of all worlds.
I ordered the Pad Thai for delivery. The portion is pretty large and there were a lot of vegetables - all different types too! Unfortunately, it was too sour for my taste. Also, the sauce tasted different than any other pad thai I’ve had, so it threw me off a little. I would probably order from there again but would get something different.
I read some reviews on Google about the lack of flavor in some of the dishes, which scared me to bring my friends here. However, after my dining experience today, my friends and I enjoyed the meal and service. I forgot the dish I had, but it had Chinese eggplant, carrots, mushrooms, onions, and other vegetables stir-fried and served with jasmine rice. A simple yet flavorful dish. I also had a cucumber and mint alcoholic drink, which was surprisingly refreshing and was quite strong (not a complaint. I’m a casual drinker).I would love to come back and try out different foods!
Visited for date night and enjoyed the experience. The strawberry martini is very tasty and fresh. Appetizer Roti with vegetable was closer to Indian taste. Especially enjoyed all the drinks that was crafted with love and patience. The staff was very welcoming and considerate they even asked if you want water with ice or no ice. The social distancing is maintained. Loved the entire experience of 3 hrs :)
The restaurant looks small from the outside, but it’s actually pretty big inside. Our friend has a gluten+soy intolerance and the waiters were so accommodating in checking the ingredients with the chefs. Food was tasty, great portion. We got pad thai, pad kee mao, pad see ew, and seafood delight. Thai ice tea was nice and not too sweet!
From the beautiful outdoor seating, to the warm and bright customer service, they had me at Hello!! The mango martini was super yummy and sweet. The Thai roti duck tacos are the Bomb!!! Sooo much flavor, slight kick, not too much and super filling. Two large tacos Served per oder.Hubs ordered fried rice, veggie spring rolls and thai wings with a Stella on the side.Cant wait to go back!! Always great service!!
Great option for outdoor dining with a heater. We were the only ones there and it was great to get out of the house and have a meal while still feeling safe. Our food was really tasty and the menu had a nice selection. Great service. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good meal at a decent price point.
This is hands down my favorite Thai spot in Philly thus far. Food is really good. Prices are really good as well considering you’re in the heart of the city. I get the same thing every time. Fried dumplings, fried spring rolls & chicken Pad thai with extra peanut sauce.... smh.
While the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely (not too loud even though it was fairly busy), the restaurant was clean and well furnished, and service was extremely accommodating (able to help with multiple allergies and gave great suggestions) the food itself was pretty unmemorable. The Tiger beer was great. Would try again.
The place was clean and we got our food pretty fast. The food was a good temperature and the tasted really good. If you have a hotel make sure u have access to a microwave because the portion size is pretty good. The service was also good and my drink was always filled.
I have been here twice, and both times it has been wonderful! Their menu offerings may not be the most authentic Thai cuisine options as the title suggest, so this place has some small fusion components built into it, but this does not mean they have sacrificed any quality in delicious traditional Thai food. For vegetarians, note that all the curries except the yellow curry have fish sauce; the yellow curry is quite incredible though. Their Pad Kee Mao with vegetables and tofu was also excellent; it had relatively fresh, tasty rice noodles, with a perfect level of heat and spices mixed with well-cooked firm tofu and vegetables. I would definitely come back to have this dish again! They sadly do not have vegetable egg rolls, but that would be a great addition for them to put into their menu! However, in the meanwhile for the vegetarians, I would recommend trying the veggie dumplings; the outside is slightly on the chewier side, but the filling is flavorful and the dipping is some curry-like ginger chili sauce.I recommend this place for sure; it is also reasonably priced for the quantity of food provided.
Decided to try the lunch special here that range from $10 to $12, and went with the Xiandu chicken and soup. The Xiandu chicken is a cross between a Kung Pao chicken and sweet & sour - at least thats the best way I can describe it. The soup was delicious with a slight tanginess to it.This place got quite busy at lunch time, but service was good.
Nice place , nice server.Ordered GreenCurry - 7/10 not that great , even @Orchidcafe makes it way better.Chicken Satay - Was dry not great with peanut sauce was average.Spring Roll was nice , no magic in that ,any deep fried is always tasty.Thai tea was nice, should be little thick how exactly its done.Overall 3 stars.Service was nice and place is good enough for a bigger group.
I was never particularly curious about this place because the word “fusion” put me off. Then I was searching for any place in Philly that might have khao soi, and found several reviews claiming this was the best khao soi people had found in the US. Cant disagree. Had the khao soi, laksa, and roti canai—all fantastic. Service was awesome too.
Food is excellent and definitely comes very close to most of the textures and flavors that Ive experienced in Thailand. And knowing that my wife is from Thailand a lot of foods out in the countryside does not consist of pesticides so everything seems so much more flavorful and natural. But I still give this a very high rating because they come very close to a lot of dishes that my wife and Thailand usually prepare. I had the pad-see-yu with beef and chicken.
Be sure to order Green Curry with shrimp, tofu and delicious vegetables superbly delivered as a shareable dining festival!Seated promptly with immediate table service. Delicious appetizers and exactly what I was craving for an entrée: Red Curry with tofu. Excited atmosphere; not too loud to enjoy the cuisine.Second Fabulously satisfying Calamari, Mausserman curry shrimp with oinions and carrots, Shrimp Pad Thai served alfresco 11Aug2020. Wear masks for takeout.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. The food was very fresh and authentic. The service is quick. The menu consists of good vegetarian options as well. The Thai iced tea is the drink to try if one has not tried it. My personal favorite was drunken noodles.
Came in New Year’s Eve 2021. The Lychee martini was not cold like typical martinis, I asked to get something instead of it since they made it incorrectly and they did not why would I drink something awful that makes me sad and pay for it? I liked the Xindu chicken dish however the celery and green peppers were somewhat raw. Other dish ordered was Thai fried rice. The rice was soggy not fried. I would only come here for a beer and a Xindu chicken.
Absolutely incredible Everythings incredible but I especially like the Khao soi Kai (noodle soup) Green curry But truly everything is great I havent had anything bad The staff is incredibly professional friendly and very kind I dont drink cocktails but theyre look incredible and people say they are Very highly recommended!!!!!
The spring rolls were pretty good. Pad Thai is just ok. I’ve definitely had better. I will say the portion size is pretty large. We sat outside. I wish I took a picture of the wipes we used to clean the tables. We used 3 wipes and they were BLACK. That means they’re dirty and never wipe their tables down! I don’t think I would come back.
Xiandu is one of my favorite restaurants. We first discovers Xiandu 6 years ago during their happy hour. Since then we have been there 30 plus times. We travel over 90 mins to dine in or take out. The environment is peaceful, the service is fantastic, the wait staff is fast and friendly, the prices are fair and the food is delicious. We love the Roti Cani, Dumplings, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai, Angry Beef, their Curry’s, Pineapple Fried Rice, the Ribs, Mango with Sticky Rice and the Leeche Martinis. You will not be disappointed.
This place is great. We had a family dinner hear a few weeks ago and the service was wonderful. The food was amazing and everyone was happy. No great feat for my family - we have omnivores, carnivores and herbivores. But the staff made us feel welcome. ThNk you for making our family time special.
We love to go out. Yesterday we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful evening there with high-qulity dishes and a nice team and a talented cuisine. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly come back soon. We warmly recommend.
Very nice staff, but this food was very lackluster. The spring rolls tasted like cardboard, cold and dry and most likely not fresh. I ordered a vegan version of the curry stew. It was not made with love in any way. I guess Im used to eating fresh food and so eating here just made me realize that not many restaurants cater to foodies who can tell how much energy is put in a meal. I can say most of the ingredients probably came from a frozen bag from a grocery store. If you just want something that is around, this will do because they do stay open till 10pm. This is probably more of drinking place than food spot. Saving my money next time. Spring rolls killed all the dreams I had of this place.
We had a really great dinner here. The food was very fresh and most importantly, the service was absolutely amazing. We were visiting Philly for the weekend and no restaurant surpassed the attentive and friendly service we received here. We sat outside as the sun set on a very warm day and our water glasses were never below half full. That was just one of many little things they did to make this such a memorable experience. It’s the little things that make a big difference.
AMAZING place! Amazing people! Went for my birthday with my girls. We had a fabulous night! They offered us water as two of us awaited the other three missing from our party of five. We had a little wait once everyone arrived but they sat us in pretty decent time. We ordered our food, the waitress didn’t even have a pad to jot down our orders she recalled everything we ordered every little detail perfectly! It was impressive! The appetizers were really good. And everyone’s food was Amazing! We ended up shutting the place down, us and the managers were left, they never rushed us or asked us to leave just waited for us to wrap up our evening! It’s a small place and well known! But worth the visit! One of the managers even took of few pictures of us as we headed out the door. A fabulous night with my group of fabulous friends!
Came in for lunch with a friend. The place is nice, with relaxing music. From time to time you can hear a loud car horn or a siren as the restaurants entrance is right on the road. We started with a small appetizer, the salmon rolls, which is 4 rolls of deep fried salmon in a thin crispy crust with a side of green sauce. My friend ordered the Thai Mango Chili Chicken(Lunch menu) with brown rice, came with a choice of soup or salad. I ordered the Red Curry Shrimp(regular menu) and brown rice with a side of salad. The food was delicious, full of Thai flavors which are a little spicy. We also got a margarita each to start the day right. The service was good, food came on time and always with a smile. The price is reasonable came out to $56 which is a great deal for the amount of food we got.
We ordered from here on Saturday night and my father, who is difficult to please, was very very delighted with his meal. Between me, my Dad and my kids we devoured our plates!!! We loved everything from the wings, roti, spring rolls, pork chops and chicken with noodles. We can’t wait to order from them again!
Honestly, the prices are not low. But the food is almost always excellent.Ive had meals here over the years, and I LOVE their yellow Thai curry. Its phenomenal! They also have other good dishes...Drink before you go. Eat anything you want (it wont be bad).Youre right in the head of the city!Strong recommend!
Beautiful view, excellent, professional staff, and delicious authentic Thai cuisine. They serve various dishes, and I always leave with a smile on my face. Peter and Bonnie are extremely attentive, and this is a very well put together business and experience that feels more like a small family.
Excellent food with a unique thia flare.Food was fresh and delicious.Staff was friendly, assisted us with making wonderful recommendations.Atmosphere was neat, clean and colorful.Prices for entrees range from 12 to 16 dollars.Specialty entrees range in mid 20s.There was a small crowd for a Saturday night.Reservations were not required.Would definitely go back.
This was a interesting restaurant to be at on a Friday night. The restaurant had 2 waitresses that I saw on a Friday night which was odd to me. I went with a group of 6 of my friends which we made reservations for but we were not able to sit as a group of 6 but instead had separated seats for 2 of us. The waiter that was taking care of my group was very busy taking care of the other tables when we arrived to the restaurant. We waited for about 10 minutes for water to be bought to our table and another 15 minutes for the order to be taken. We all tried mostly everything on the appetizer which was not as good as we expected. The only order I recommend from this restaurant is their Thad pai which could also be called Drunken Noodles. I have been to many restaurants and this is one of the restaurant that adds a 20% tip automatically to the bill.
Hands down my favorite Thai place in center City. My #1 favorite dish: beef pad Thai spicy level 1! I could literally eat it every day. Id highly recommend the red curry w/ chicken and the summer rolls. The food will not disappoint, they are consistent and Ive never had a bad experience in the 3 years Ive been eating here. Thanks Bonnie for always being so kind & welcoming!
Good Thai place. Ive only been here during lunch. Service is always good. Their lunch specials are great. They have plenty of accidentally vegan options, but be careful with a few things that seem vegan. Only one of their curries is vegan (I think it was the yellow curry), the others have fish sauce. Their ginger dressing is not vegan either, it has egg whites. It seems like most of the staff are pretty knowledgeable about what is vegan on the menu, and they are friendly enough to ask. Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 because Ive been to other Thai places that are just better than this one, but Im always down to come to this one when going out with omni friends.
Started with appetizers of calamari and Asian duck tacos. Calamari was very fresh, and the taco was a little oily but very tasty. Also tried the Xiandu chicken, spicy but good. To top things off, had a Lychee martini. All in all.. dinner was very good, and the service was fabulous. 5 stars.
Amazing genuine hospitality from two phenomenal sisters makes this one of the best go to Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to! We love their Currys and the great selection of proteins that you can match with different sauces. A brilliant idea! It lets you fine-tune your dinner the way myou like it! Reasonably priced with top-notch service and the best bartender ever name Peter, I would recommend this whole heartedly for lunch and dinner! It is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia!
Ordered pineapple fried rice and two PKM (drunking noodle) . The pineapple rice was okay not much flavor but curry nothing special. The noodle in the drunking noodle was Over cooked very mushy and was wayyyyyyyy too spicy to take a third bite. Not sure why they didnt have an option in the level of heat when you order online.. I guess the hunt for drunking noodle continues..
This beautiful but modern restaurant has a level of upscale but laid back atmosphere. The food is well prepared with care. I love eating here from time to time especially during the evening summers. The staff open up the downstairs front part of the restaurant to invite the outside nightlife in while you eat and feel the breeze. Love it!
The food here is amazing and the service is excellent. They really treat you like family here and make you welcome and happy. Its a great atmosphere and Ive been coming here for almost two years now and will definitely continue to do so. All my friends and family that Ive reccomended here love it as well.My favorites here:Yellow Curry with chickenPineapple Fried RiceBee HoonPad Kee Maw (Drunken Noodles)
Highly recommend them.I am from out of town on a business trip staying in downtown Philadelphia and decided to have Thai for dinner, went to this place. In all possible ways as a restaurant: food, service, atmosphere, friendliness and cleanliness they are by far excellent plus.I do not see how one would expect any more especially for the price they charge.Well done!!!!!
Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly service. I took my boss here who generally doesnt eat Asian food... he loved the heat and flavor of the food down to the last bite and finished off his plate commenting that was awesome. I would have to agree, and I highly recommend this restaurant for its variety of authentic dishes and great balance between flavor and spice. I could eat here again and again.... thank you 🙏🏼
So much flavor! It was the first Thai restaurant I discovered in Philly and I never wanted to try another place after it. My family always wants to eat there whenever they visit and their happy hour is great as well. Really nice interior and and has outdoor seating in the summer. Service is good too. Highly recommend 😀
The food was extremely hot (temperature) which I like and tasty and the servers were attentive and friendly. But, the portions are extremely small for dinnertime prices $$. Although the atmosphere was pleasant and the newly remodeled building (formerly Indian restaurant) was chic and stylish....I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this place!
GREAT find! I was with a party a five and cant say enough good things about this excellent restaurant! Food was AMAZING- cocktails were delish and staff was SUPERB. Every person we encountered was warm and friendly, including our great server Rafael! Highly recommend this restaurant for superior food and service!
This is the best Thai place Ive ever been to - Ive tried some others and they just dont compare. The food is delicious and the people are wonderful. Eating yellow Thai curry here feels like coming home. If you come here often enough, Bonnie (the owner) and the staff warmly greet you by name every time they see you.
Great Thai food with awesome atmosphere. We walked in with a fresh mind looking for some good Thai dishes, and was no disappointed. We received great service, and the food was fast and delicious. Will definitely visit again! I personally recommend the dish that I got, the basil beef.
I was pleasantly surprised by this Thai place. I first I was skeptical because its located across from Hamilton the Broadway show so there were a lot of white people inside the restuarant. So I thought it would be Americanized. But its actually a cute spot with great happy hour prices and portion.Happy Hour is daily from 5 to 7 PM. Select cocktails are $6. I had the tropical sunrise which had coconut which was delicious. Select appetizers are $4 which included the ratoni with side of curry. Select entrees are $7 which include chicken pad Thai. It was a good portion and I liked how it had bean sprouts, thinly sliced eggs and small chopped tofu. It may not be traditional Thai but I like the Chinese spin on it. I feel the owner is Chinese because I heard them speaking Mandarin.Ill definitely be back if I crave Thai food!
Xiandu... hmmm I simply love this food. I should state that I’m vegan simply because I know it’s not a 100% vegan eatery. I love Thai food... simple because they can easily make it vegan. I ordered the vegetable and tofu pad Thai on a scale of 4/5 on spice. I ordered to go but the place looks nice and relaxing. They were playing one of the older avengers movie. So I’m sure I would’ve definitely felt relaxed sitting in. The pad Thai was awesome. The rice noodles were good, the tofu was perfect texture and the spices were amazing. I love anything spicy so I know I wouldn’t be let down. The food was ready within 10 minutes on a Sunday early evening, it wasn’t packed at all. The woman offered me to have a seat while I waited which was nice! I would most definitely come back here when I visit Phila again. ♥️
I absolutely love the Thai food here. Probably my favorite spot to eat out in center city. Although Ive only tried the classic thai dishes, I am excited to try all the dishes they offer. Ive been here a couple times and tried the pad si ew, pad thai, and pineapple fried rice and loved all of them, but I would say my favorite is the chicken pad si ew. This restaurant is one of my go-to places when I have friends/family coming into town. The restaurant is modern and nice. The main dining area is on a higher level from the bar/entrance, which is nice for reducing noise. My waiter the most recent time I went was Brian and he was excellent! So attentive and happy. He explained all the menu options for us and immediately asked if my mom/aunt/grandma wanted hot water, which a lot of Asian moms love. We went for my graduation lunch and had a fairly large party but I never felt like I had to track him down for service. He went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was pleasant. If the other waiters are a fraction as helpful and optimistic as he is, Xiandu is in a good place.
I was having a good experience until I asked to switch my meal because I really didn’t like it. Instead of accommodating to my needs the owner of the restaurant came up to our table and started questioning me so rude and loud in front of customers ... I was so embarrassed. Never experienced that ever. Our beautiful waitress had to come apologize to us. Our waitress Marina was amazing though. The owner is very rude and disrespectful.
My sister became engaged, reasons I visited. Very nice atmosphere. I ordered the Asian Taco (duck) and the Sexy Fingers (shrimp).I enjoyed the duck, the pancake was a neat trick in place of a conventional taco, but the pancake needed to be thicker and cooked longer since the sauce will cause the pancake to become mushy. The sexy fingers were too dry for my liking...but wouldve been great if not so dry. Over all this is a cool place to hang out. I wouldve given a 4 * if wasnt for the mushy and dry show lol....
Skip the cheesesteak and go here for excellent Thai. Best Pad Thai Ive ever had and my wifes Thai Basil Chicken was equally delicious. Greeted with a warm friendly smile at the door by who I assumed was the owner. Even if she wasnt she is running the restaurant accordingly. Excellent service from Ryan and even reseated us without us asking so we could charge our phones and brought us a pitcher of water so we could rehydrate from a lot of morning walking touring Philadelphia. A million restaurants to choose from but we will definitely return here on our next visit. Also a pleasant Thank You on our way out. Its the simple little things.
Very affordable and delicious Thai food in center city. I love their pad see ew and my boyfriend loves their pineapple fried rice. We order takeout often and they always have the food ready quickly. Restaurant itself has a nice ambience in the back... Good for a date night and large groups.
The service was atrocious and food mediocre, I dont understand the 4.4* rating at all. Didnt look understaffed - Different chef?On a less than half-filled Thursday night, the service was cool (bored? Aggravated by kitchen or management?), haphazard and aggravatingly slow. Thai iced tea and club soda took 15-20 minutes. Food took 30-40 minutes, appetizers were bought out with main course without asking preferred order of delivery, food was lukewarm, fulfilled in error, under-salted and under-flavored and uninspiring. It took 3 requests and 30 minutes for chili sauce to show up. When I asked for fish sauce, a Thai staple used instead of salt, I was told they dont have any!One of our 3 main plates took an additional 15-20 minutes (45-60 min. total) so the other two diners were nearly finished before it arrived. No apologies, offers of credit or comps.Highlight was pleasant modern decor including nice white leather chairs.
Really good Pho, like really good. springrolls nicely done. The pad sauce was a little thick for my taste but the flavor was good. Overall very nice place. Good service, very friendly staff. The decor is upscale but relaxed. Will definitely return and try other items.
Phenomenal service with a kind and caring staff. Bonnie in particular was superb, she made the atmosphere quite joyful with her beaming smile and helpful nature. The food was equally amazing! I had the Chu Chee Duck, I would recommend this (and the restaurant) to anyone!
I travel overseas very frequently, and I try many authentic and original cuisines in their homecoutry. As a side effect, I stop liking the food here in the US. It was not the case with this restaurant, Ive been to Thailand 3 times and I know how the food tastes like there, Xiandu is just amazing, it is really bringing the real thai food to philly. I love it! And the waitress is my favorite 😊
Had the lunch special which, btw, is only available as an eat-in. Nevertheless, the food was good. I ordered the drunken noodles, which is how I gage a Thai place Ive never been to. The default spice level was just right, and the flavors were refreshing. Certainly interested in try more food off the menu.
Very tasty! I wasnt sure when I showed up to this place whether it was open, because it looked dark from the outside, but to my relief it was indeed open, a nice long restaurant with a bar at the front. The service was prompt--running over to replace chopsticks that had dropped in little more than a minute--and the food delicious, with a medium portion (not the largest Ive seen, but not a small plate either) running $12, which seems like a good price for how delicious it is! Yum!
Stopped in here while waiting to check in at my hotel. The sushi was good, I had the Fantasy roll (spicy tuna, salmon, avocado). The fish tasted fresh and the rice was good. The hot and sour soup left a little to be desired. My server was very pleasant and talkative.
The only vegetarian split pea soup is terribly unsalted and the manager was explaining to me why she sacrificed flavor for a vegetarian friendly dish lol but they were nice and gave me free egg rolls instead! I went here with my mum celebrating our birthday weekends and will be back not because of the soup, but everything else! Including the amazingly hilarious waiter Brian! He has jokes fer deyz!I highly recommend the $10 Bok Choy 🥬 ! It’s worth it for the flavor, freshness, and size!!! Thank me later!
- Pad thai reminds me of the same I had in Kho Phangan during the full moon festival - made with ketchup and real cheap.-Fried rice was salty yet somehow bland?-Pad see ew was sorta dry and the noodles were very broken. -Perhaps the greatest transgression, none of it was spicy or tangy.
Food here is fine but man, what a terrible customer service experience. Placed an order on their website, which had me enter my delivery address first. Called one hour later as I still had not received any updates only to find out that i was out of the delivery zone (Just over the walnut st bridge). I told the person that the problem seems to be with the website and that they need to update to recognize areas further than they would travel to. I then had to convince her to finally send a driver and when I had requested they throw in a soda for the inconvenience, she told me no i am already doing you a favor by bringing the food. Can only sit back and laugh. Will take my business elsewhere.
Service was very prompt and attentive and food was decent, though I wasnt terribly impressed. I was in the mood for a Thai-style curry, and my meal seemed a little more Indian than Thai. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, and the food was good for what it was, but Im not sure Id go back.
We have been dining (and taking out) from New Heaven religiously for years! The food is better than anywhere else in the city; both Japanese and Chinese. Their lobster in scallion sauce is to die for as is the hot and sour soup, two of my personal favorites. They also make a string bean with minced pork dish that is sautéed in brown sauce and is absolutely fabulous! Ask them to make Candaces string beans for you :-)Everyone is super nice in the restaurant and the atmosphere since they completely renovated last year is beautiful which is unusual for a Chinese restaurant. Wine is only $3.50 a glass; another plus!Thank you New Heaven for lots of great meals!
Im so sad to say after going here for years and having this place as my go to spot at least twice a week. Now to order and get cold slop arrive that in no way resembles Pad Thai. After attempting to eat I was left sick to my stomach with a pounding headache. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH ANY FORM OF A FOOD ALLERGIE 🤢🤮 very sad to see such a lack of care for food
Absolutely terrible experience with this place. STAY AWAY!Tried to order food for delivery and the manager refused to serve me. She said I had not tipped the driver in the past which I had every single time before and accused me of lying and gave me terrible attitude. When I order food for delivery I dont expect to be on trial. I expect to be treated like a human.

2021-12-19This restaurant has been by far one of the best Thai cuisines I’ve had in the Philly area. First off the drink menu has plenty of options for specialty cocktails which are a must have and they are very well balanced. Appetizers are pretty good too, we usually order the chicken satay and dumplings. Lastly, the entrees are delicious and flavorful where you can choose your spice level. My go to is the Singapore Laska Noodles and the serving size is plenty. Xiandu is a must try!!!

2022-04-26A truly delectable experience. We kept coming back for the appetizers (although the main courses were amazing and authentic as well). The Roti Canai is a MUST-HAVE!! You need it in your life. Will be visiting every time I come! BEST THAI FOOD IN PHILLY

2022-03-27Excellent service. I had the pineapple fried rice, and it was very tasty! It definitely doesn’t disappoint. The shrimp pad Thai was really good, too. The ambiance is also nice and relaxing.

2022-01-29Im not impressed with this place. This was my second time eating here. My salad was supposed to have ginger mayo dressing and another flavor dressing ( I cant remember). It was overpriced iceberg lettuce, unripe tomato, and too many cucumbers, and the dressing tasted like plain mayo. The chicken was good, however. The first time I ate here, I got wings and pad thai. They were just okay. Dont plan on going back.

2021-11-23We were visiting Philly for the weekend and our local friends recommended Xiandu as the “place to go” for great Thai food. It did not disappoint. We ordered the Vietnamese summer rolls with tofu, the cucumber basil gimlet, the jack fire green tea, and the xiandu chicken (with extra spice). The food was all delicious, well seasoned, and came out quickly. The summer rolls came with both peanut and spicy sauce which was delicious. The Xiandu chicken came with rice that was super fluffy and delightful. The texture of the chicken itself was amazing. Our server was great- attentive and refilled waters before they were low. If we lived in the area, this is a spot we would frequent often. Give Xiandu a try, you will love it!

2021-12-19Excellent service, good food, nice ambience that compliments everything. Staff was really welcoming and friendly.Spring rolls, vegetables dumplings were really good, so was chicken satay. I would recommend trying spring rolls which were really crispy for appetizers. We tried Pad Prik King and Panang curry for main course and absolutely loved it, especially the smoky smell in Pad Prik King. Cant wait to come back and try more.IG: journey_man16

2021-11-23This was my second visit but I forgot how amazing this place is. Prices are great for lunch (I, however, got three appetizers and a glass of wine so my bill was more like a light dinner). Portion sizes were great, and I cant even begin to describe how great the food is. I had shumai that were the tenderest Id ever had and curry puffs with the flakiest, tastiest pastry and filling!! I also had delicious dumplings and my companions had gigantic plates of noodles and spring rolls. Everything is carefully and beautifully prepared, and it all came out quite fast as well.
